not even a huge bridgerton fan (I watched four episodes of season one and gave up but know a lot because it’s impossible to escape it), but people getting mad that michael was genderbent is so ANNOYING. especially with the garbage excuses of why people are mad about it, which this whole post will be about.

firstly, to say that francesca won’t struggle with infertility is ridiculous. francesca is married, as of right now, to john a man. there’s still a possibility that the writers will make changes so that her and john struggle with it instead. also being in a relationship with someone of the same gender doesn’t mean a person won’t struggle with infertility. infertility is not limited to heterosexual couples; I’ve heard stories of both heterosexual and queer couples struggling to have children

second is the question of how michaela could inherit john’s titles, as michaela is a woman. now I know bridgerton is not historically accurate, but this answer does include some history. for those who don’t know this, in british history, queen charlotte’s granddaughter, victoria, became queen (would take a long time to explain how victoria got the throne, so if you want to know you can read that on your own). queen victoria did NOT become queen because her husband succeeded to the throne as king; victoria earned the title because her father’s older brothers died without having a legitimate heir. so there is a possibility of michaela earning a high title. also going back to something I said already but bridgerton is not historically accurate, which I am sure is obvious by the amount of people of colour in the show with such high titles and being members of the ton.

ANYWAY this is a long winded of saying that people are hating on the show’s decision to genderbend michael, and that I think it’s awesome how francesca and michaela’s love story includes both queer and black representation (and I think both actresses are absolutely stunning).

edit: adding another ridiculous I point I saw someone use was “it feels like they’re diminishing her feelings for john”. you ever hear of bisexuality? also if michael stayed the same you wouldn’t be saying that, how is it suddenly different with francesca being attached to a woman? plus this wouldn’t take away an important part of francesca’s arc in the books (from my understanding of what I’ve heard people say) is that she felt incredibly guilty for having feelings for michael. I personally think it’ll make francesca’s story arc way more interesting due to genderbending her second love interest

Ranking all the OI I read. Part 1: the lesser.

It'll be like my tier list except with added stories from the haven't read yet section and of course my opinions.

Since Tumblr only allows 30 images per post and a daily pass based on how many pictures can be posted at all. I'll be posting this list through multiple parts starting with the worst. Get ready because there's gonna be a lot of negativity right now.

Starting with the tier I like to call "Absolute dog shit." Terrible plots, gross content being glamourized and little to no potential at all.

honestly picking the worst of the worst was hard cause there's so many to choose from.. and I think the title of the absolute worst doesn't go to Remarried empress or Today the villainess has fun again..

Its this one: beware of the brothers

I really can't say I was surprised 😭. I mean.. look at the damn title. The FL gets adopted into the family because she looks like the ML's dead sister and it just.. escalates into step-bro love. "But it's not related by blood-" still incest and even if they didn't grow up together, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO FUCK SOMEONE WHO LOOKS LIKE YOUR DEAD SIBLING!?

The order of slave breeding

Yes this is an actual manhwa.. I genuinely wanna know why the author just looked at themselves in the mirror and said "Yes this is a good idea." As the title suggests.. it's about a slave merchant for a FL and her slaves falling in love with her and as if it couldn't be uncomfortable enough it is one of the few manhwa with a dark skinned ML. I don't care how many times they'll offer excues for the lead I don't fw slavery being used as a romance device in media.

I belong to house Castillo

Technically I didn't read all of it, I just read the spoilers for the rest of the chapters but to be fair, I just got finished cursing myself by reading stepbro fantasies and master/slave ships, I'm not trying to give my FBI agent a reason to search my hard drives. It's a basic and cliché found family where the FL Estelle is sold by her mother to her father and the ML is a 17 year old who basically grooms her..why? Because raising your love interest is the "only" way to make a story stand out amongst the other generic found family tales.

I tamed my ex husband's mad dog.

More cases of grooming except this time it's the FL as the perpetrator. ML looks like he's 8 but he's apparently 16.. so we got a groomer protagonist in the form of Reinhardt who also neglects her first child and favors her second child she had with her victim with the excuse of not wanting to care for her son being that he looks like her toxic ex. Lady what? That boy deserves his own villain arc holy shit.

No more turning a blind eye.

This one really dissapointed me 😔. The cover looked stunning, the artstyle while a little off was still eye catching and the title sounded promising. Nah this is a hunk of junk that had a gentrification plot for some reason.. and you were supposed to sympathize with the guy who wanted to render hundreds of people homeless to make room for art galleries or whatever it was they wanted?

The dragon kings bride

I already knew this one was probably gonna suck judging by the title. First off it treats dark skinned people like barbarians, the ML Hakan meets Lucina when she's a child, Lucina is threatened with death if she doesn't marry him and you can probably guess where it goes. Like I said I don't really have a right to be shocked but it still goes on the list for its weird obsession with Lucina being so tiny that having sex with Hakan could kill her along with a not so hidden pregnancy fetish.

I became the tyrants secretary.

Its just workplace sexual harassment, theres not much to it. Cannot stand the ML who is a basic garbage human and Rosalyn is a block of wood when it comes to personality. She wants to do all these things but she has no spine and no will to actually do them but at the same time shes so good at everything on a whim. I usually don't mind a clueless FL but Jesus christ! She makes Adrien Agreste look smarter!

The villains savior

Gotta say the artstyle is really pretty and the FLs design is so cute. Everything else though is pretty bad. The point is basically the lead Ezlay is trying to essentially "fix" the ML as the title suggest. A lot of people dislike this one because Ezlay is very emotional and cries too much but that's honestly the least of the issues here. Now to be fair, Aseph is a villain so it's expected that he's gonna suck but that doesn't mean Ezlay needs to have the personality of a rock either, it's not that she cries a lot that annoys me, she's literally just a male fantasy personified. All she is absolute patience and acceptance for what Aseph does to point of enabling that toxic behavior.

Now we enter manhwas that are horrificly awful, not much difference except these ones have a bigger grain of potential

Lucia

This one got a lot of hate tiktok so naturally I had to read it and yeah, it was pretty bad. The artstyle though just.. I'm sorry but Lucia's face is literally just 👁 👄 👁 and thats not even mentioning the ML Hugo. It's really crinegy and it tries to fill that void with poorly made smut. The plot is also really and I mean REALLY dead set on 1950s values for women and the relationship between Lucia's and Hugo is downright toxic. In fact I don't even think there's a plot.. it's just porn. The only reason it's not in dogshit tier is that it's so iconic for being awful that it deserves to be higher up.

When the villainess is in love.

Okay all I can give this one is that Libertia has a better character design than Lucia. She's a mary sue but at this point that's a lot of leads nowadays so it's not a total shock but this is definitely a case where the story would be so much better if it was the actual Libertia as the protagonist instead of a carbon copy of the ogfl taking over. The worst part though is the fashion and I normally do not care about how dresses look in OI as long as they at least look good and fit the setting.. and dear God a lot of those dresses are nightmares to look at. Thankfully I had heard the novel was better.

Today the villainess has fun again

not a fan of the protagonist. Reilynn is really insufferable to follow since she's basically just an entitled asshole who thinks that just because she got transmigrated as the wealthiest woman in the land that she must be in the right because she's not like Iris who is a basic pick me girl. Beyond the fact that watching her throw money at people to get past an obstacle without effort she's also heavily written as a pedo because out of her options which had 2 green flags her age, she chooses the slave she bought who acts and looks like a 10 year old boy with attachment issues.

Try begging

what is with Solche and their weird obsession with rapist male leads? It's somehow worse then cry or better yet beg. Basically the FL Sally/Grace is a spy and when the ML Leon finds out.. he basically tortures her and SA's her multiple times and somehow they fall in love. Do with that what you will, the only slack I will kind of give Try begging is that it at least warns you of what your getting into beforehand. I really hate that Solches writing actually has so much potential to be amazing yet they use their talents to make rape fetish content. I want to know why manhwa tiktok likes this so much, they're all about girl code until a rapist looks hot (Leon isn't even hot, hes mad ugly)

Abandoned empress

Ah yes, good ol abandoned empress, the manhwa communities favorite punching bag so it's only right it lands here. For all the writers out there if your making a character you'd want the readers to support as the love interest you typically would give them an interesting personality and to tone down anything you think is too much for a healthy relationship. Abandoned empress decides to do the opposite of that and even after scenes of Ruve abusing his wife Aristia by cheating on her, beating her, SA'ing her, killing her dad, and causing her to miscarry so you would naturally think "okay clearly Ruve is the antagonist." But instead they pulled some bullshit "but he's not doing it anymore because he was poisoned in the last timeline!"... what!? Were there any new writers by any chance because how did we go from a abusive monster to a misunderstood Lil guy? I would say more but I think everyone already agreed a long time ago Abandoned empress is ass.

Revenge on the real one

the protag is essentially those villainesses in regression stories that cause the heroines initial downfall. I was already aware of what would happen before I even read and let me tell you it was accurate. The protagonist Helga is AWFUL. The torture she puts Hillian through is overkill and at this point Hillian deserves her own regression story to stand up to Helga because my girl was not that bad for her sister to ruin her life because of a stupid tragic origin story. The worst part is the Helga fans I see on places like tiktok who just don't want to admit their FL is a bad person. "Oh but Helga past was so sad! It's not her fault she's like this." Don't mean she has to banish her sister from her own nation when Hillian was innocent.

Villain Dukes precious one.

I really dislike the reincarnated as a baby trope and I can only ever tolerate it when it's just for a few little chapters. They always feel like those weird ass Elsagate videos with embarrassing humor to come across as funny and this one is no different. Even after the FL grows up the plot is still bland and cringe inducing. I don't have a lot to say about this one other then it is weird as hell. Apparently it also got a little incest-y so no thanks!

Poisonous Lily

While the characters looked basic in terms of design the title sounded intriguing. Unfortunately the translation is horrible, they can't even get the whole Lily flower theme right on the tapas version by giving her tulips to carry on her wedding. The dialog is..interesting to say the least. I won't lose it too much though on this one though since I'm pretty sure this is a lower level book trying to make it out in a sea of over advertised manhwa

I thought my time was up.

You know those porn/no plot tags on ao3? That's basically ITMTWU in a nutshell. Within only 20 chapters, the male lead Asrahan is already obsessed with Lariette after chapters of her violating his personal space to force a relationship between them. The whole magic plot is pushed to the side, Asrahans curse isn't allowed to be an actual rotting flesh curse like it's described as cause he's still gotta be pretty, and the rest of the plot is basically just soft core porn and fanservice that does little to actually move whatever is left of the plot.

For my derelict favorite.

The. Hypocrisy. How is this book gonna make the entire message about deconstructing main character centered morality and then almost immediately backpeddaling with justifying Hestia for attacking a woman who doesn't know her for rejecting her favorite man and proceeding to just ruin her day whenever she can. Hestia would say "im not like other girls." Hestia would be an avid fan of those trust fund baby GMV. Hestia would put her hair in a messy bun, shit on whatever is popular and act like she's making a statement . Even calling her Hestia feels like straight up disrespectful to the real goddess of the hearth who funnily enough is known as one of the most chill Greek gods.

Marry my husband

now Marry my husband is not insanely problematic wheras it's just cliché, predictable and in general pretty bad. It is a fast food manhwa designed to fulfill the classic top boss takes good care of you fantasy so naturally a lot is put on hold to showcase the sweet relationship between the central characters and almost everyone needs to have a lover. It's so bad it's actually kinda funny because the villains are so cartoonishly evil for office workers. Sumin is out here speaking in 3rd person, dressing in clothes found in the little kid section of Walmart and makes comical comments about her desire to ruin Jiwons life, Minhwan is basically a borderline discord mod who casually killed jiwon in the first timeline and goes "Oh well." and there's this random ugly old man who's name I can't remember who's the only one interested in Sumin till the end because he basically wants em younger without the risk of going to federal prison.

Remarried empress

I don't think i need to explain much at this point, if you know my account then you already know how I feel about remarried empress. Season 1 was pretty good though.

Divorcing my tyrant husband

I think we all know at this point that's whenever a title has the word "divorce" 9/10 of the time there is never going to be divorce and it'll devolve into the FL changing her mind and staying with her trashy ex husband because he now decided that Robelia wasn't like other girls and left his mistress in the dust. The plot kinda started getting out of hand when Robelias love interests expanded to one of her obsessed slaves and a Duke to prove that Alexandros was the better option. The villian Aisha is a joke who gets her ass handed to her over and over because "damsel woman always bad." and the art starts to lose its touch. I usually don't mind when artstyle changes but dear God do some of these characters look a Lil fugly.

Cry or better yet beg.

The final story that is in the awful section, why? Because it has the most lost potential. As terrible as this CoHo equivalent is, it details the very realistic parts of being a mistress to a nobleman. In most other stories, the mistress is an evil wench who could easily back out but in cry or better yet beg, Layla is unable to escape Matthias's abuse because it could risk her uncles job. There's a lot to this manhwa and novel that could've made a tragic story about a girl trapped in an abusive relationship with little help, the art is gorgeous and the characters for the most part were well written. It's a real shame that it turned out to be a rape apologist work instead.

next up are the mediocre manhwas, finally there will a little more positivity.

The villainess is a marionette

its.so.boring! This one was hyped up all over the place on Instagram and tiktok and the art looked stunning so I gave it a shot. This is definitely one of those stories that only got popular because of its art in my opinion because the plot is so confusing. Events are happening left and right, the pacing goes from too fast to too slow, characters personalities and traits keep warping, and while this might just be the result of poor adaptation her brother comes across as incestuous a couple of times. while Cayena isn't the worst FL, she's a mary sue by all definitions. Sorry but it's a bunch of jumbled wires. The reason it earns a spot in "it's okay" is because I heard the novel like usual is better so it might not be the fault of the original author

I was the male leads ex

It wasn't bad just boring but a little less boring then the former I'll give it that. The artstyle looked prettier in the beginning so that was kind of sad to see it change in later chapters. What drew me to keep reading was the chance that the ogfl Julianna may not be evil but even a potential love interest. So I got excited and apparently there's the idea that Julianna is actually her brother in disguise which.. would just ruin it tbh, there goes any chance at a ogfl being a human being and not a plot device. Not a huge fan of Erica or really any of the love interests.

From maid to queen

This is the newest of the lineup I read and it was actually interesting for once to see a new story where the MC was the concubine. First off the maids feel less like women employed to do the chores of the palace and more like the cartel 😭, in early chapters whenever Urania is aiming to be the concubine, being lazy with her job or getting comfortable with a powerful man in general they're already out with sticks ready to ruin her day and they even try to kill her. Lot of people don't like that Urania isn't a girls girl but honestly I can't blame her for wanting more out of life then poverty, where she comes across as stupid is that she's still wanting that role even after it got her killed last time. I think that it could work though since it shows that urania is more human and not a perfect goddess of a woman however that does not make up for the shit world building (like what the hell was that mushroom that could turn into a perfect still corpse of you 💀)

The villainess maker.

Ill admit I'm a little harsh on this one on my tier list. The plot still isn't great but there are so much worse out there so it ended up moving up on the list due to default. The plot is mostly just bland and generic down to all the characters and the tropes. Ayla is a girlboss in the villainesses body, Charlotte is a super "revolutionary" kind girl turned wicked wench and the ML is another "touch her and I'll kill you" type. What i will give the Villainess maker is the distinct artstyle. It's not as stylized and while it does get lazy at the end it still is very recognizable.

Abellas dessert shop.

Its another extremely underrated manhwa that's another isekai about a wronged woman looking to move on from her shitty fiancé and start a dessert shop. Ngl the moments where Abella is forced to put on a kind face despite her cheating fiancé or her ex friend popping in is definitely relatable especially in the workforce. Still a little bland but wholesome.

I didn't mean to seduce the male lead.

Eleanor is the FL hired to convince the ML to accept women into his life with the hopes that he will fall in love with the ogfl Irene. Tbh this one can get very icky with how it tries to force the notion that you must fall in love but the guy just instantly falls in love with Eleanor so.. I guess that's a little better? Regardless though i will not fault this manhwa too much because unfortunately the author died before the story was over so it deserves a little slack since it never got the chance to be more. Rest in peace author.

Who made me a princess.

Ill be straight with this now: it's Mid. Objectively the story isn't too terrible and I do find Athy a good protagonist not to mention my love for Jennete but everything else is pretty "meh." Not a huge fan of Claude from his design to his personality, the ML is another case of a grown as immortal meeting his wife when she's still a child (theres a little credit ill admit for Athy being mentally a grown woman but that doesnt stop me from thinking its uncomfortable to acknowledge) It can be cute sometimes and I'll give it that but I don't think I'll ever reread it, just not for me.

Actually I was the real one

Good god this was such a bastardization of the original novel. With that said I'll admit i was still entertained reading it since you could say that the novel wouldn't be an instant cheat sheet to learn what was gonna happen. Still it could've at least tried to be a loyal adaptation. They give Keira 2 options to choose as a love interest when she had none in the source material, Zeke is pushed to the side and the maids honestly get on my nerves with their one note personalities. They also seem to forget that Cosette is literally being possessed by a demon he'll bent on destroying humanity (which she succeeded in the first time) because what was built up as an amazing antagonist is just a joke now. The only other redeeming factors are that in the Manhwa Cosette is still alive and the whole elemental plot stays constant. Despite my complaints on the adaptation it is still a interesting read but the novel will always beat it no matter what.

I know it sounds like I'm just being a negative Nancy with all of these and I'm sorry for being so negative but the next part will be more positive.

Titus Flavius and his indelible traces.

Titus Flavius was born in Rome on December 30 of the year 39. He was a direct descendant of a loyal soldier of Pompey the Great during the Civil War against Julius Caesar. After Pompey's defeat at the Battle of Pharsalia, his life was spared by Julius Caesar, returned to home and became a Publicanus (tax collector). In an incredible twist of fate, the Flavians, a family of peasants, who came from the defeat of the past, ended up occupying the throne founded by Caesar's heir.

During reign of 'Caligula' (37-41) Vespasian, father of Titus, was Aedile of Rome. According Suetonius, Emperor passed by a street that was very dirty, ordered Vespasian to be brought and the garbage thrown on him, and then told him "Do your job well, keep the city clean."

During the reign of Claudius (41-54) Vespasian obtained the position of praetor and the command of one of the legions that went to the conquest of Britannia. In 51 was Consul.

After rebellion in Judea in the year 66, emperor Nero chose the experienced general Vespasian to put an end to the conflict. Vespasian went with his son, Titus, who was then 26 years old, and was an excellent army's officer.

In June 68, after of the death of Nero, the first civil war of the imperial era broke out, which would last until December of the following year. In the chaotic year 69, known as The Year of the 4 emperors: the first ,Galba was assassinated; the second, Otho committed suicide; the third, Vitellius, was executed, the fourth, Vespasian was proclaimed emperor by the army, ending the civil war. The war in Judea was halted for a year- while Vespasian waged civil war against Vitellius- and resumed in early 70, when Vespasian had secured his position as emperor.

During his father's reign, Titus served as consul seven times and also assumed the command of the praetorian guard.

A historical event of mystical relevance.

After months of bloody fighting, on August of the year 70, the Temple of Jerusalem was looted, burned and demolished by Titus's troops.

Titus along his father and brother had a triumphal parade in Rome. Years later, in the place where they passed, his younger brother, the Emperor Domitian, ordered the construction of the Triumphal Arch. One of its extraordinary relief depicts the Triumph with the treasures of the Temple. It should be noted that Vespasian and his two sons had the name TITUS FLAVIUS, so emperor Domitian (Titus Flavius Domitian) built the famous Arch of Titus not necessarily in honour of his brother ​​- as is popularly believed - but rather in honour of the Triumph of the Flavians.

Soon rumors began to circulate that the gods had a personal problem with Titus because of his forbidden love for Princess Berenice, great-great-granddaughter of Herod the Great.

Although he was a very popular emperor, he did not want to risk those tragedies affecting his image, so he decided in the year 80 to accelerate his father's work, which still had to wait to be completed. And so began the inauguration of the most famous amphitheater in history.

Very soon the people of Rome forgot about Vesuvius, the conflagration, the plague, and Berenice. There were 100 days of games: Recreations of naval battles, with that monumental site full of water, exhibitions of wild animals and the legendary gladiator fights. Those shows were free for the people.

They had never seen an amphitheater of such grandeur.

Its height and shape were a real architectural novelty, something completely different from the classic Roman amphitheatres. Because of the sculpture, Nero's Colossus, the only thing that Vespasian did not order to be demolished and that remained imposing next to the amphitheatre, over time people began to say "let's go to the Colossus" (the Colosseum). Ironically, the great work that Vespasian ordered to be built to replace the Domus Aurea, and Titus officially inaugurated, instead of being known as the Amphitheatre Flavius, went down in history with the name of the sculpture that Nero ordered to be built.

After Nero's death, rumors began to circulate that his suicide was not real. Years later, this rumor had spread throughout the empire and even beyond its borders. Suetonius wrote about an event that he experienced during the reign of Domitian: "Twenty years after his death, when I was young, a man of obscure origin appeared, who claimed he was Nero; And the name Nero was still in such favour with the Parthians that they supported him vigorously and surrendered him with great reluctance."

The Parthians were happy believing that Nero was alive because during his reign he signed the peace treaty.

Titus had to face the rebellion of a guy called Terentius Maximus, another Pseudo-Nero that according Dio Cassius "He resembled Nero in voice and appearance and, like him, he played the lyre." The impostor had a lot of followers in the eastern Roman provinces. The Parthian king received this man and made preparations for him to return to Rome as legitime emperor but he was executed when his true identity was revealed.

On September 13, 81, Titus died at the age of 41 on his father's farm, due to fever. His brief reign was very prosperous and free of military and political conflicts. He was the first Roman emperor to succeed his father.

Having only a daughter (Julia Flavia), his successor was his brother Domitian who ruled for 15 years.

According to Roman writers, his last words were: "I regret nothing except one thing"; And some believe that he regretted not marrying Berenice.

The Colosseum and the Wailing Wall are undoubtedly the two indelible traces of Titus Flavius.

I have been wanting to read an LMK crossover fic for the longest time and low and behold, the ao3 algorithm has answered my prayers lol. Me and best friend really love the character interaction that the Ninja’s have with the LMK crew 😂. Also the shipping!! Best friend absolutely LOVES dragonfruit but was sad that they didn’t have as much of a fandom dedication as opposed to spicynoodles. So imagine her suprised (and scream) that dragonfruit is the main pairing in the story and their many iconic moments together!! Also the climax truly had me at the edge of my seat!! And that ending?? Gosh couldn’t have asked it better myself Ninjago writers really should take notes ✍️!!! Anyways enough rambling here’s the fic if you would like to give a read, absolute 10/10

This was a given by the fact that i have no experience and was impatient. But since this is a gift for Best Friend ofc this has to actually look good, so here are the improvements that i made

Signature printing— i will admit it took some time and effort but after the old cannon printer finally died permanently jammed, managed to convince parents to buy a more advanced and better printer that can now do double sided printing!! No more wasted signatures from here on out 😮‍💨

Cover printing — not wanting a repeat of the last time that i did it i went to my local Officeworks to get it printed by them. Here i discovered the beauty that is known as ✨Poster Prints✨. Now all of my yellow lines and elements actually do show an pop against the darker background!! Unfortunately this does have a drawback because the prints are sensitive to any type of scratching. Not the scratch and all the colors come off way, more like the scratch it and lines will show up kind of way as you can really see in the front cover :') . Will work on improving this is future projects.

Trimming the edges — originally in book one i trimmed the edges using your typical box cutter and cut it myself. Bad BAD idea i was doomed at that moment. So imagine my surprise the Officeworks ALSO do CUTTING service!!! My jaw dropped and i immediately went back the next day with my text block and asked them if they could trim all edges. After some inspection they put it through the guillotine and all of my edges are perfectly trimmed. Saved me all the time, money, and storage.

Laying book flat — this was definitely the biggest pet peeve that I have with my first book. The way i do it now is i now put a one cm gap between the front cover, side cover and back cover. And also using the right paper (cardstock) to connect the text block with the covers. Now the book can actually fully open!!!

Cover alignment — I printed out the front and back in regular paper and use that as a template on where i wanna fold the prints to find the cover. Worked like a charm

once again shoutout to best friend for giving me the brilliant idea when making the covers!! had it not been for her to point out about clause's book of spells i would have never made the coolest cover page that I've made in my entire binding experience!! all in all im pretty dang proud of myself for being able to improve on my bookbinding skill.

It's comically sad that it took the Sonic Movies so long to add a female character from the games. The ones from the movies weren't great. Maddie and Rachel can be summed up as "Tom's wife" and "literal stereotype" respectively. When we do get a female character from the games who has importance to the plot, it's Maria, who we all know is gonna die. It's like someone went down a list and thought "🤔: How can we fuck up every single one of these ?"

People commonly defend this by saying "Well, it wouldn't work for the plot. Having so many characters to juggle and get adjusted to living in the human world would be difficult". But this argument falls apart when you remember that the writers didn't have to make the story about Sonic getting transported to a human world and living there. They could've just had it like the games: Furry anthros and humans living alongside each other, which honestly would've been more interesting. Instead, they decided to go with the boring "Sonic X" Isekai approach. They didn't have to do an SA2 adaptation either. They were adapting the classic games at first but all of a sudden decided to jump to SA2 and skip Sonic CD.

When Amy showed up in the Sonic 3 post-credits, my reaction was not one of joy or shock. It was "Fucking finally. It's about time." Also, they've done the post-credit cliffhangers so much that it's just so predictable. They must need money BAD because ever since the first movie, the post-credit scenes have been "Ooooh! A new character appeared! Wanna see what happens next??? Watch the next movie to find out!!"

If these movies were being made sensibly, then Amy would have been introduced in the second film. Because it would have been a Sonic CD adaptation. Because, you know, THAT'S HOW THE TIMELINE GOES IN THE FUCKING VIDEO GAMES.

Instead the movies are just doing the same shit every other fucking bullshit Sonic adaptation does. Carving out what they want from the games for the sake of surface level shallow aesthetic fan service, leaving the rest, and then making up whatever stupid bullshit they want and shoving it in. Because the video games aren't "good enough" to be adapted as is, they HAVE to make shit up, because otherwise it'd be "boring" because the video games are boring I guess. You're completely right that the defenses and excuses people make are total bullshit. They COULD have simply made movies that were ACCURATE AND AUTHENTIC ADAPTATIONS OF THE VIDEO GAMES. They CHOSE not to. Hell, the writers OPENLY ADMIT TO NOT EVEN FUCKING PLAYING THE VIDEO GAMES FOR FUCKS SAKE.

If this were any other franchise, these movies would be rightfully roasted over the coals for being sexist and racist garbage. But this is Sonic, and because of The Sonic Double Standard, people celebrate them instead. Even though Tika Sumpter LITERALLY HAD TO DEMAND THAT THE WRITERS OF THE MOVIE GIVE HER SOMETHING TO FUCKING DO in the second film, because she would have just been sidelined otherwise. They literally write Maddie's character as an ACCESSORY to Tom (a white man) until told by the actress to do otherwise. What the fuck does that tell you?

They adapted Sonic Adventure 2 and left out Amy and Rouge, two incredibly important characters for that games story. But we can't have any yucky GIRLS running around, no no god forbid. And Maria gets stuffed into a refrigerator! In the games her Last Words to Shadow DEFINE him for the rest of his existence literally turning him into an extension of her will. In the movie, Maria is killed WITHOUT A SINGLE WORD OF DIALOG BEING UTTERED FROM HER and it makes Shadow asad and he does a bad things because he asad, but then he gets over it and stops being asad. It is the DEFINITION of women in refrigerators. But nobody is complaining about it because The Sonic Double Standard. If the title of this movie was ANYTHING ELSE besides "Sonic the Hedgehog" people would be RIPPING THIS FUCKING MOVIE APART for the SEXIST GARBAGE that it is.

And there is not so much in the character of Chloé that is interesting, but the reactions it provokes.

On the one hand, there are those who cling to these good deeds, which would be supposed to show that she is kind, deep down, without ever questioning what motivates these actions.

A bit like in abusive relationships, in which, when we are dealing with a monster, we often convince ourselves that they will change, not only because we are driven by the desire to help them, but also not not lose everything we have emotionally invested in the relationship.

But the important thing is not that the monster is capable of good deeds from time to time. That's why they do them: to be able to stay in control. They let go of the ballast to be able to better remake the evil behind. Carrot, stick, carrot, stick. A hellish spiral.

On the other have, we have convinced those who don't even see how problematic it is. Those who think that at least she has character, a personality. Not like that water bottle of Marinette. The one who deserves the title of heroine is Chloé!

Well, sometimes she abuses a little, but it's not that bad. A magnanimity towards a character, which they obviously don't grant to Marinette.

Hyper-classical process in politics.

If a homeless person steals a packet of dough, or a young suburban man rides a scooter without a helmet, we will accuse the judges of laxity if there is no firm prison.

On the other hand, if a politician gets stuck for having embezzled millions, then suddenly, the same people who accused the judges of laxity, will accuse them of being inquisitors.

And of course, these are the first ones to draw the worst of insults. All this to defend a cartoon character.

Or rather to defend themselves, actually.

All while claiming to be the protectors of children: Think about it! What a message to send to young people, that a person cannot change!

Except that this is to ignore the obvious: children do not identify with the bad guys. They appreciate them as characters. They can even understand them if some backstory is given. But that's all.

The best proof is that toys of villains sell very poorly.

In any case, for my part, what I love about this character, beyond the pleasure we have in playing her in the stories by her caricature side, is what it reveals of those who "stan" her, as they say now. Angelism for some, toxic inclinations for others.

Not sure that if, they learned a lot about themselves, but it taught me a lot.

Winter has finally died and Spring has sprung, so I drew this fanart to celebrate it. Spring may not be my favorite season, but I love the different types of outfits that are shown at fashion shows during the season.

Speaking of fashion, that’s the subject of today’s art. Y’all remember that strawberry dress that was trending a few years back in 2020? I’ve always wanted to draw that dress because of so much cute fan art I’ve seen of different characters wearing it, and because I’m currently certified South Park garbage, I finally get to accomplish that opportunity by drawing my favorite mama wearing it. I also wanted to include the lesser-known, but just as stylish and cute strawberry shirt as an excuse to draw Randy and Sharon together once again for the umpteenth time.

I swear, sometimes I feel like I sugarcoat some things because I’m aware that these two aren’t the most perfect or squeaky-clean couple in the show (though tbf this is South Park I’m talking about, a lot of couples in the show ain’t spectacular either and are pretty dysfunctional themselves lmao), given they do have moments where they argue and squabble (and admittedly I find those scenes funny too). But as I’ve mentioned before in my previous post, they do have their fair share of cute, heartwarming, and wholesome moments that show that they genuinely love each other.

Idk man, this is probably just my gullible, naive-ass seeing the good in some things 😭

They may not be my favorite couple (that title goes to Stendy, my OTP 💕), but I’ll always love these two, I have a huge soft spot for them.

Little tangent aside, I didn’t go all out with this one like the previous art, but I still love how it turned out. Also wanted to try and make the lineart more colorful and vibrant-looking this time to make it pop out more. Drawing the dress itself was my favorite part, it was so much fun to work on, and Sharon just looks so fabulous in it. Pink surprisingly suits both of them, especially Randy, he slays in that shirt 🍓✨

Non mk fighting game fans sure may lioe the game for like....a few months and then get bored. Like nrs got the money,wb got plenty the money at the time. But nope wasted on poor decisions and poor business practices.

Now they are preying on people's stupidity,short attention spans and the people who have money to throw at this bloated paperweight of a game.

People are either going back to old games. Or jumping ship to other fighting games because of these things.

No. Mk12/mk1 is hot Garbage because it singlehandedly convinced it's players it's ok to buy an incomplete game so as long as it's pretty enough and not much work is put into the game to have people keep buying the same game over and over and over just title it differently and suddenly people have amnesia. And only minor bugs and "fixes" suddenly people think this saves the game. No this fixes problems in the coding that should have already been there. You're basically paying for a shitty made game made by lazy people. More likely lazy higher ups but some game devs are lazy too. But some are just underpaid,so i give them some grace. But mr.boon should know better bu now due to the midway days. Mk had it's fair share of crap,im no stranger there. I was there in real time kiddos.

But....now.....they have no excuse but themselves to blame at this point.

Does this mean i will stop playing mk or loving it? Hell no! Does this mean i will be smarter about my purchases from this series and company? Yes. But, she's also not about crazy diets so she made sure the cover reflected that. Normally this mag is all about dieting and hating your body garbage. The number of times I've heard a YouTuber sneer "woke," as if that even meant anything to the SH2 remake's standard of quality in general, and noped out of the rest of the video are... well... more than one, to say the least.

Like, I don't really care in the slightest about whether Bloober injected "DEI" into the game; I care about whether they made a faithful remake, and in my estimation they haven't.

I don't think they had an agenda other than to gratify their own egos by leeching onto the creative work of Team Silent, because they've pretty much said so in their own words. It's frankly kind of stupid to go the conspiratorial route with how Bloober are pushing some "woke" agenda when the Silent Hill series has always been, more or less, "woke." Maybe not along the axis of race - it'd be nice to have an indigenous protagonist - but certainly along that of gender.

Seriously, if 1-4 released as-is today, they'd be decried "woke."

Things I Miss

Avril had to admit, this wasn’t how she thought her life would turn out.

When she was little, before she knew how garbage the world could be, she wanted to be a pilot. Just like everyone in her family before her. She wanted to be like the heroes on TV and in the old war stories. Then her dad died and her grandpa forbade her from joining the military in any form, so she found another love in being a mechanic.

It was the only thing that kept her sane while she was in the penal unit. Probably the only thing that kept her alive, too. For a while there, she thought that was it. Either she would get snuffed out in the war or spend the rest of her life rotting in prison with a bum leg that only served as a reminder that she would never get to be a pilot.

Hanging out in a private jet to Erusia so she could act as an advisor to the new queen was not something she had on her bingo card, but here she was.

She didn’t need a private jet, or the armored security detail she was supposed to meet up with, but Cossette insisted. While the civil war ended a while ago, Erusian politics were still a powder keg a few nasty words from going off. An Osean in a position of potential power wasn’t going to help. Especially with the rumors surrounding their relationship.

Cossette was definitely taking a risk by doing this. For a young, sheltered princess, she sure seemed to take them a lot. At least this time she wasn’t running face first into enemy power or base jumping in the middle of a dogfight. Avril respected the hell out of it, none of them would still be around if not for that bravery, but she could do without the constant heart attacks.

Despite the risks, Avril had to admit she was excited to finally be there. After the war ended, she wound up sticking around, helping out wherever she could and providing emotional support and advice when asked. Eventually, Cossette offered for her to stay permanently. Of course she accepted.

There wasn’t anything for her back in Osea, except for paperwork, and unfortunately, there was a ton of it. What was supposed to be a quick trip back to get her affairs in order turned into a three month slog through bureaucratic crap. Video calls that lasted way too long into the night, even with the different time zone excuse, kept her going, but it wasn’t nearly as good as the real thing. And as cheesy as it was, absence really did make the heart grow fonder.

After tens of hours doing nothing but traveling in a straight line, she finally felt the plane turn. She closed the windows hours ago in a failed attempt to catch some sleep, and opening it was nearly blinding. It took a couple minutes for her eyes to adjust enough to see the city off in the distance. They were landing at a private airstrip on the outskirts of town to avoid any press they didn’t want.

The landing was shockingly smooth, much smoother than all the military transport she was used to. Smoother service, too. As soon as she got the go ahead to stand up and get her luggage, an attendant got to it first. Even if it was nice to not have to carry stuff on her leg, it was still incredibly weird watching someone else haul everything she owned down to the group of very obvious security guards. Avril caught a glimpse of a much shorter, blonde figure, dressed in her trademark white, flitting between them.

She smiled to herself. Of course. Cossette told her that they wouldn’t see each other until she arrived at the castle, but she should’ve expected something like this. There was probably an official security reason for it, but she wouldn’t be shocked if it was all for the sake of a surprise. Well, it definitely wasn’t unwelcome.

Avril was only on solid ground for a moment before Cossette darted past them, clearly faster than they were expecting. One made a move to grab her, but she was already gone. Avril snorted. She couldn't even blame him for missing her. She started to amble over, even though she knew she wouldn’t get very far.

Cossette slowed down just before reaching her, giving her just enough time to really see her. The rest of the world faded into the background. The look on her face was brighter than when she opened the window by an order of magnitude, yet she wanted to drink in every detail. Grainy video calls really didn’t do her justice. 

They flung their arms around each other, hanging on to each other like something would rip them apart at any moment. Cossette was clearly minding her leg, but in that moment she didn’t care if they went tumbling into the dirt. They were there, together and safe, and that made it all worth it. All of the paperwork and travel, all of the fighting and risk taking. Totally worth it.

“You have no idea how much I missed you.” Cossette’s voice was warm in her chest.

She didn’t say anything. She didn’t have to. All she did was lean over and kiss her.

there is a webtoon i just stop reading because i felt so uncomfortable. I don’t even remember the title, but the uncomfortable memory remained stuck with me. FL is a sex slave trainer who lost her memory. FL trains slaves for her emperor who threatens FL that she will suffer if she doesn’t listen to him. However, i do not understand her training sex when emperor is shown to just kill slaves at the end. First sex slave is already has stockholm syndrome. He helps FL training new slave. Second slave is new and his sister is in custody as a threat which webtoon makes sure readers know FL doesn’t know because she lost memory. FL has no choice but be harsh and torture new slave who lost his whole kingdom mentally and sexually and physically because she doesn’t want to die, so i watch new sex slave get sexually trained and get stockholm syndrome, so i stop reading it. I like dark stories, but only when FL is shown as selfish and evil (her reason can’t be enough to be excused). Her lost memory keeps used as her being innocent. Her past is almost treated as someone else. Her past only matters when it’s used as poor her. Instead of showing her as becoming darker as she chooses her safety over two sex slaves, she is shown as she has no choice! It’s also hard for her! First slave is ok with it! First slave encourages her and teaches her how to train sex slave! Webtoon tries hard to push it’s not her, it’s first slave pushing her to do it. I could endure it if it stopped with only using emperor as her excuse, but when it keeps using first slave to push her to be harsh toward new slave, I just couldn’t stomach it.

What the actual fuck 😨

This has to be a canvas webtoon or something because webtoon isn't great at moderating anything that's not gorey or an original.

Either way this sounds worse than even king and the paladin and I don't know how else something can be worse than that piece of garbage

Okay so I would absolutely LOVE to hear more about this book series. Switching genres between books? Hecking genius we love those vibes. Anyways feel free to ramble about any and all the things you want to talk about to do with them, I'd LOVE to hear about it!

I LOVE it when someone gives me an excuse to ramble.

So basically the main character is Ophelia and the story is very centric around her but her love interest Kallen is like a secondary main character, whatever you would call that.

So the plot of the first book is centered mainly around their relationship developing, but also the politics of the world with a toe dip into the magic system. So at the start she is married to someone else, but divorce is treated very flippantly in their culture, so marriage is usually for political reasons and at the end of the day doesn't really matter, and her husband, Leo, is basically a serial divorcer, he marries a girl, then divorces her after a few years and marries someone 'better'. So at this point they have been married for a few years and she just knows he's about to drop her.

The opening scene is a ball (boy do I love me a good ball) and is where she meets the prince, aka Kallen, aka the man who is about to become clinically insane about her (in a good way). So he is like immediately drawn to her and he asks her to dance (because her dumb husband wont dance with her) and like instantly love at first sight on his end, so he gets SOOO disappointed when he realizes that not only is she married but also to a garbage human. This will bother him forever.

So Leo ends up divorcing her for someone younger (ew, he is in his mid thirties, Ophelia is like 22-23, his new wife is like 18, we hate his guts) and Ophelia doesn't have any money for herself, and she really doesn't want to go back home to her mother (her mother is also a terrible person) so when Kallen finds this out he offers for her to become his sister's lady in waiting, so now she lives in the palace with him and his family (which consists of him, his sister, his aunt, and his cousin, the latter two will be very plot relevant). The romance is not what I would call a fast burn, but its also not at all a slow burn, but a main point of their developing relationship is that she feels unworthy of being loved because of her history (which wasn't her fault but that self deprecation is REAL) and she also won't let herself commit to loving him because a future with him means being queen, because his aunt is currently queen regent and he can't become king until he marries, so that puts a lot of pressure on her. She has a hard time grasping the concept of real love wont get tired of you after a little while.

So eventually when she finally opens herself up to love and be loved she can't really commit because of the aforementioned issues, like they are courting (or more like just kissing eachother when people aren't looking) but she has a lot of relationship insecurity. So, because he loves her so much and wants her to understand it, he asks her to soul bind with him (working title, havent though of anything better) but basically in this universe its like marriage premium edition, but sometimes is done between friends and family members on very very rare occasions. It's a ceremony where each person gives up a part of their soul and it gets put into a gemstone for the other to keep (usually worn as necklaces, which is the necklace she has on in the picture) and the consequences of ending the relationship are severe afterword, maybe death havent decided, but its like a serious commitment, and its rarely done anymore.

And throughout all of this there is a plot against him and several attempts on her life (because it would remove certain someone from power) and also she has to deal with prejudice against her because she isn't from one of the elite families where queens usually come from. Its a whole thing. And in the background of all of this there is a massive rift between the human kingdom and the Fae kingdom that Kallen is trying to patch. (becomes much more plot relevant second book)

and then obviously by the end of the book they are completely and confidently together (they have to be married by the second book for the plot to work lol) and then at the end in the epilogue is where the genre shift is and things get really real really fast

I think what I care most about with her, is having her find herself and become a strong female character (both in the inner strength sense and also can swing a sword sense) while retaining her softness and femininity and relying on her loved ones.

Anyways as much as I would love to explain the entire plot of the second one to you in detail, its getting late and I have to get up early so I'm going to quit here lol

Re: the previous ask and your reply that Charles would need Harry to speak up against the allegations made in the book before he accepts him back.

Just watched lady C's latest video, and she says she has it on good authority that Harry had absolutely nothing to do with the allegations in the book and that this was all on her own. She was pretty harsh on Meghan, the language she used was quite dramatic tbh.

Anyway, so now I'm thinking why is lady c coming out to defend Harry? She often makes some bizarre claims. Like saying the actual racist royal was Anne and she was authorized by the BRf to say that. But she also knew about the queen and her home cancer. I'm a bit ambivalent on lady C's claims** but I do think she says what the BRf wants the public to think.

I couldn't sit through her whole video but I'm wondering why she is giving Harry an easy out? She was pretty livid about the allegations against Charles and Catherine, but why does Harry get an excuse here?

I'm also seeing that a lot of American media and social media/YT channels are saying that piers Morgan outed the names of the royal racists, which is a bizarre slant. Since actually he just made the names in Dutch book public on his show. So it's interesting how this issue is being handled a week in.

**Just an example: she once claimed to have been contacted by Meghan's old landlord in Toronto who said meghan did not pay the last months rent and left the house in a horrible state before she moved to to London without notice. As far as I know, the house was rented by the suits team for Meghan. And some claim she co-signed the lease with Cory. So idk. But she has never been sued for anything she has ever said on her YouTube.

My thing with Lady C is that 99% of what she says turns out to be complete garbage.

She is also a liar and was divorced by her husband because she failed to disclose something to him that was rather important. Then she kept the title which I know has infuriated his family.

So anything she says I take with a HUGE grain of salt.

As for the Toronto house, the lease was paid for by Suits and that is partly the reason Meghan packed up and moved to London with Harry. She no longer had a house.

Notes and an Update: What the What?

This week, there's some flashing back, some angst, some dancing... and feelings. :D

The chapter title is "y nos colamos con la brisa," a line from "Con La Brisa" by Foudeqush and Ludwig Göransson. If you've seen Wakanda Forever, this song is featured during a "first discovering the wonders of the undersea world" sequence.

It's a mood. :D I had a whole set of notes written out about drugs, but I'm very tired! So I'll save them for another time.

I keep forgetting to post my updates here because tumblr continues to elude me as a medium -- I don't get exactly how I'm supposed to be using it and I don't get exactly how engagement and connecting with other fans works here, and also, I've been sick af for a while now, but the past few weeks have been super garbage! So forgive me. We're up to Chapter 20 now, as the link says, so make sure to read Chapter 19 first! Otherwise this shit won't make sense. Please keep asking questions, tell me what you think, let me know what I ought to be doing here. LOL I've noticed some people post their whole chapters or stories here on tumblr, but AO3 just seems like a more organized place to put stuff (lol just so that *I* can find it all!).
