Imagine Lucifer coming across Niffty doodling in the hotel parlor and, spurred by memories of watching Charlie draw as a little kid, asks to see what she's working on. Only for her to show him an extremely graphic drawing. Of him. And Alastor. With very little clothing.

"Do you like it?" she asks in the most innocent tone that won't allow him to answer with anything but glowing praise even as it feels like his head is about to explode from the blood rushing to his face. Niffty, none the wiser, just squees happily and goes back to drawing.

After Lucifer regains his ability to speak, he asks Niffty if she usually draws things like... that. Niffty replies happily that she loves drawing all of her favorite bad boys, and Alastor is her favorite-favorite.

"And does Alastor, uh, know you draw him like... this?"

"Yup! He loves my drawings! He keeps each and every one I give him!"

Lucifer doesn't know what to do with this information. But he definitely feels like he's learned something he shouldn't know. He asks if he can keep the drawing of him and Alastor together, with the intention of burning it the second he's alone in his room. Niffty gladly gives it to him and Lucifer folds it and tucks it away in his pocket.

Things get busy and Lucifer almost forgets about the drawing until he comes face to face with Alastor and suddenly Lucifer's face is as red as the apple on his cane. As much as he desperately tries to look anywhere but Alastor, his eyes keep being drawn to the Radio Demon, the drawing flashing through his head, wondering how accurate it is, wondering if Alastor really looks like that underneath all those tacky layers-

Alastor's eyes meet his and Lucifer just about has an aneurysm before excusing himself.

All throughout the day, Lucifer tries his best to avoid Alastor. Which Alastor picks up on almost instantly. No matter where Lucifer goes, he's certain to find Alastor close by, smirking at him. He can't get that damn drawing out of his head.

By the time Lucifer collapses in his bed that night, he swears he's half gone insane. Unfortunately, he's also very very horny and that's making it even harder for him to shake the image from his head. His traitorous brain supplies sound effects, wondering if Alastor would keep up the radio sounds or drop the filter entirely and let his real voice through, would he bite his lip to muffle any sound at all, or would he cry out...

Lucifer's not proud of what he does next. But he needs relief. And the drawing in his pocket makes for decent daydream material.

After he's finished, Lucifer rolls over and screams into his pillow. He swears he's NEVER going to let that happen again. He's just... lonely since Lilith left. Yeah. It was a one time mistake he shan't repeat.

Around three weeks later, he comes across Niffty drawing yet another picture of himself an Alastor.

Lucifer asks if he can keep it.

Pick a Card: Month Ahead #01

This was written for May 2024 but with the intention to be timeless, so even if you find it later there might be a message for your next month.

We'll look into your energy coming into the month, but also what will be the theme/area of focus and what you'll need to pay attention to, as well as the surprises that might come your way.

It's my first time doing a pick a card like this so we'll see how it turns out! I love doing those privately though.

As always, be mindful that this is a general reading meant for multiple people so it might not be 100% fitting for your situation, and that it's based on the energy you hold at the moment of selecting a pile that draws you to one of them.

For your energy coming into the month, I see you being in a state of being in tune with your heart, opening up to the possible rise of a new romantic connection. I get the sense that you're cautiously optimistic about it, because while you feel confident within yourself and in a happy place, you're also aware that it's too early to tell. But you're not letting that deter you and you're fully embracing your own power, feeling good about yourself and where you're at while looking ahead hopefully and waiting for an opportunity to move forward. I think for you the process of the month ahead has already started a bit before the start of the new month and you're continuing the process.

I'm getting the sense that this is what the theme of the month was referring to, and while you seek it, you don't really know how it will unfold so it will still be a surprise when it happens. When this even happens, be as open and honest as possible in order to clear out any possible miscommunication, be kind and listen to what the other person has to say with empathy and love at heart.

What you'll have gained by the end of the month will be a stable and solid start towards the future. Things are blossoming but you'll have learned that there's no point rushing into anything and that things come when the time is right. You'll be set to build on that for the months to come. Maybe the start of a new commitment although things are in their very early stage.

For the general vibe of this pile, it feels a bit overwhelming like there is so much to pay attention to that you are somewhat disconnected from yourself as a result, because your feelings are so confusing that you get lost in them. There are A LOT of court cards, which may mean that there is a situation that brings the intervention of a lot of different people, perhaps it will be busy at work, or something involving family, creating a very messy situation where everyone has something to say and you can't hear yourself anymore. Really there is so much external influences here that I had a hard time picking up on YOU until the end of the reading.

For the energy you have coming into the month, I really think you are in a committed relationship with someone (and if not it's not your pile), but there is a big disharmony here. It seems one of you is on the way out of the relationship (represented by the King of Wands), and the fact that the Queen of Wands shows as a challenge later in the reading, I'm getting that this person already has someone in mind. It seems you are longing for the way the relationship used to be and it feels over, but you are having difficulties moving on right now. It's also possible you're just longing for the idea of Love altogether and wishing you could drop everything you have right now to run towards it. There is a choice to be made but right now at the end of the month, you are not making a move one way or another.

The theme of the month to come for you pile 2 makes a lot of sense considering what I already wrote. I'm also getting that you feel resistant to change and the call of life, and that you may feel a bit dead inside and numb as a result. There is a need to find excitement for the miracle of life again which has been lost due to your complex situation. For what you'll consciously focus on this month, I'm getting just like...trying not to break down completely and at the same time keeping up with your demanding job and practical life issues. Perhaps this impending breakup is causing financial stress and you don't know how things will turn out. So your goal will be navigating that in order to stay on top of things both mentally and professionally/financially.

Okay this is where it finally clicks because I was confused whether you where the one with the third party of the one who is perhaps cheated on. With the King of Pentacles longingly looking at the Queen of Wands (the third party I mentioned before - don't take gender into account though) standing next to him, I'm getting that YOU are wondering how to welcome this new passionate connection into your busy life and how to make it fit from a practical standpoint with your current relationship. The Queen seems to be both a challenge and an opportunity, I don't necessarily get that this Queen is a bad omen, it's just a difficult situation that require a choice on your part.

For the unexpected thing that will happen this month, I'm not getting a particular event but rather, how it will change the course of what you're doing. This surprise will force you to weight your options and start pursuing what you desire, getting out of that rut you are in. There will be progress moving forward as I don't think you'll be left indecisive for too long. For your energy coming into the month, I see that you might have been feeling burnt out for a while now due to over-exhausting yourself with work or your studies, something you've put a lot of care and energy into in any case. However, you can't seem to let go a bit in order to get things flowing again and you remain stuck, fearing everything is going to go to waste if you relax a bit.

What will have been gained by the end of the month has to do with leaving behind this way of doing and thinking you were holding onto at the beginning of the month. You will finally be able to get moving again, even if it will feel somewhat bitter and hard to do, remember it's for the better because you could not keep going on like you did.

My Workouts are always early morning before school in the evening hours before i got to bed so i won’t have to worry about that affecting my academics. With my Hobbies i feel like only some of them really need scheduling so ill also make time dedicated to those as well !!!!

Beauty Maintenance will probably always be on weekends for the stuff that weekly/bi weekly like face masks,manipedis,hair etc!!

I'm in a particularly egregious version of my usual set up right now where i have balatro playing on my right screen (sound on) and then drawing references on the left screen plus a stream I'm watching (sound on) and music playing through my headphones and one of my stupid 4x map games minimized for when i need a break longer than a round of balatro (music off sound on so there's just mild wind sfx(soothing)) and then tablet in front of me for the aforementioned drawing references (I'm learning how to draw) and also obs is hooked up to my switch with Xenoblade running (no sounds and minimized so it's not adding to the sensory landscape but it provides a layer of temptation for distraction that is wholly unnecessary) and also i have music playing on the record player in the background (makes sure i get up and stretch when i have to flip the record). I call this setup "the devil's Concerta". It ensures a constant flow of neurochemical response to stimuli that would kill me if i was exposed to it in the wild but feels like a heavenly domain when it is all under my control.

Do you have any advice/tutorials on how to make healthily round characters? You do them so well!

Hi I really want to answer this with like my doodles and stuff but I’m out (might reblog the stuff later) but so want to say just use a LOT of references. I got used to not using references most of the time because Ive build a somewhat small mental library in my head but certainly its not absolute or perfect, but If I want to focus on a certain piece I really look for references! OR use the mirror.

My main advice

Build a mental library full or references; Even if the reference you compiled are not the same body type/shape, you soon learn to incorporate them in actually drawing round characters.

You can try building this mental library not just by searching online but ACTUALLY STUDYING ONESELF, by that I mean your body. Try taking videos of yourself and pause on frames that could potentially make a good dynamic reference!

Build a habit of drawing different character bodies. I cant say I’m an expert nor really follow this rule since I lack understanding, really but one of my discovered inspirations before I drew characters like these is the Dungeon Meshi Artist. They draw different shaped characters so well, take inspiration from them!

Pay attention to distribution of fat and muscle. (again I’m not an expert!!!) Pay attention to HEIGHT and WEIGHT of the character. What I usually do is that sometimes I estimate how much torso is going to on or legs so it looks proportionate

I learned that chibi is similar to what Im doing. I guess I learned chibi with round shapes aka bunch of circles and ovals, but irl those are more of chunky sausages(?)

BE CONFIDENT on your SKETCHES. I usually start small in sketching like big canvas/paper small lil “chibi” characters. Practice a pose u like then choose what you want to focus and render on

I feel like I’m saying this more for myself hut fundamentals! fundamentals, fundamentals fun d a ment a l s ! In anatomy, lighting & generally in art is key component to everything really!

ok so while going home from the grocery store i just had a realization about Lucas and Claus' designs and i'm sorry i just need to share it with more people, spoilers for mother 3 yadda yadda you all know the drill

Claus and Lucas are twins, that much is evident, you can see it even with the small pixel count thanks to their mirrored outfits and similar hairstyles, but you can see Lucas was closer to Hinawa, more coddled, kinder and sensible, by the fact he is blond, while also predominantly wearing yellow and red, with his blue shorts being here to add a slightly cooler part to his design, variety if you will. it also adds a little bit more interst to his design, as well as paralleling Ness and as such confirming his status as protagonist.

the red can be seen another callback to Hinawa, as her outfit is mostly composed of red, while his blond hair, yellow stripes on his shirt and yellow soles and shoelaces are closer callbacks to sunflowers, as well as chapter 3's end text saying he will become a "sun".

the yellow is more overwhelming than the red, as yellow is usually associated with happiness and activity, while red is passion, love and anger. in his design, the red can also be seen as his loving side as a whole, while the darker blue of his shorts by adding a cooler contrast to his outfit possibly hinting a hidden guilt at what happened to Tazmily and his inability to have stopped Claus from going and fighting the Mecha Drago, thus sealing his fate.

a small contrast to his shy and "introverted" personality (as Palutena would say in Palutena's Guidance) his hair shows his whole face, being kept us and as such showing his eyes and expressions to those in game and thus being more visibly expressive in contexts such as Smash as well as art, both official and fanmade. usually a "shy" character would have their face more obscured but tihs again cements Lucas' status as a protagonist and more active character.

While not being a sweet babyboy absolutely all the time, Lucas is also extremely kind, caring and sensible, but still harbors within him an inner rage at what happened to him and how his whole world was destroyed for the mere entertaimnent of someone who doesn't even bother even learning his commander's, Lucas' own brother's, name, only seeing him as a mindless robot here to do his bidding. that's the counterpoint to the red in his design.

Claus meanwhile is predominantly teal/blue and orange, his ginger hair and orange shorts showing more vivacity and anger due to their warmth, recalling a everburning fire, as well as aligning with Lucas by virtue of orange being a mix of yellow and red in mediums such as painting. His blue shoes and teal stripes add a cooler, maybe colder side, more ruthless, something that you can see in his decision to kill the mecha drago who killed Hinawa and his future transformation into a chimera.

However as a child he still wears yellow stripes, yet again a callback to sunflowers, showing that he too is Hinawa's son, he is Lucas' brother. This part will finally be erased in his chimera form under the black/dark gray jacket with only his pants remaining orange, as such only showing his cold, robotic aspect while keeping the physically active, familiar and yet more dangerous aspect of his design.

when Lucas is dressed in his commander uniform, his jacket isn't gray but brown, keeping his warmer and more human, empathetic and loving side while paralleling Claus' design, also wearing orange pants as well as bluer shoes to go against Claus' full gray and orange/yellow getup.

you can also somewhat see a callback to sunflowers yet again in Lucas' commander unifirm with the brown jacket recalling sunflower cores, usually brown themselves.

as an addition, i do know the yellow stripes are probably more of a callback to Ness' striped shirt to show yet again the maincharacter aspect of Lucas and Claus' importance as Lucas' brother, but i think next to the sunflower aspect it shows that his phantom will loom over much of the game: Flint constantly searching for him thus in turn neglecting Lucas, his role as the Masked Man and ability to use PK Love and removing the needles just like Lucas, who cannot even recognize him anymore, the two pillows in their bed remaining even after he got taken by the pigmasks and his small shoes remaining in the drawer, a lingering hope yet deep sadness to his absence. the yellow stripes are pretty much the only identical aspect of Claus and Lucas' designs, and his absence is felt deep, so deep.

Flint misses Hinawa and Claus so much.

Hi there, just a few things

Hi, I'm an artist, and I'm plural too :3. Or at least, I think I am? It's complicated. There's a lot of denial all the time.

You don't have to say anything that you don't want to of course, and answer in as much or as little detail as you'd like to.

So my questions are like.

1) How has being plural affected your art journey?

Im asking this because I have really bad executive dysfunction, and find it extremely hard to actually do what I want to do, meaning not much art practise, but I know that my other alters don't have it as badly.

2) How is your system communication? How did you make it better if its good.

Our communication is very.... poor. There's 3 definite alters, including me, and maybe a couple more, but I never hear about them so idk. Either way, even between just the three of us, I almost never hear anything from the other two. Apparently they have better communication between each other, but idk how true that is cus I can't really ask them.

3) Can you visualise things? I have aphantasia, and it makes me need a lot more references for when I am occasionally able to bring myself to draw. I'm interested to know how it works without that inhibition.

[Taki I really, really want to do a story from Taki's perspective. I once had an opportunity to do it in a side story, but I had to give up trying to make it fit to the number of pages available. She wrote this in volume 14 so it was in 2012..... it's been 12 years and we STILL don't have a Taki special 😭😭😭 If the series end without it I'm gonna be so bitter sdsfsd. I know she said it's because she didn't have enough pages for it and maybe she hasn't gotten the opportunity to draw it since then but it's just so unfair to me that Nishimura & Kitamoto got to have a special but not Taki 🥲

I'm just sooo curious to know what idea she had in mind for a story from Taki's perspective... I wonder if she still want to draw it. And if there's anything she'll change now that we know more things about Taki, like her brother or her connection to Matoba... or her new girl friend from her class (Though I think it's likely her story would have something to do with her grandpa?)

(What she said at the end about Taki being "a gentle girl who make Natsume smiles even when he's having a tough time" is cute though. they're cute.)

Also. We need another Tanuma special too. Especially now that he seems to be given more importance in the plot. I like the Natori specials but there's just so many other characters I wish we'd get focus on/the perspective of... Though I think we'll definitely get a 3rd Teen Natori special at some point too (maybe where we learn how he met Shinobu and what's the deal with that weird vase and stuff?)

AND we need a Matoba special too (I have a theory that maybe instead of a 3rd Teen Natori special where we learn his relationship with Shinobu we get a Teen Matoba special from his POV. Which would be really cool. but we'll see ig.). I think the two characters who need a special the most now are definitely: 1. Taki, and 2. Matoba. And maybe Tanuma. (One of my dreams actually would be to get a Nanase special, specifically one where we learn more about her past similar to what the anime did, but where she's older instead of a child. Like we could see how the Matoba clan was before Seiji's birth and even meet his parents/grandpa and stuff, given they were referenced recently in canon. That'd be so cool but sadly Nanase get very little focus in the manga so idk if it'll ever happen...)

Uh-oh, due to a temporal anomaly the Hero of Yore Olympea suddenly finds herself transported alive and well from Ancient Halcandra to the Kirby OC tournament! She doesn't know what's going on, but she'll roll with the punches and treat it like a fun dream vacation of sorts. She does like meeting all sorts of new people and trying new foods, weapons and technology. She'll have so many stories to tell her friends when she returns! It's probably for the best if she doesn't learn what disaster befell the four heroes in the regular timeline, though...

I would love seeing people's OC's interact with her! Asking Olympea questions is okay, but this is not an ask blog/rp blog and I'm not looking for extended roleplay. I may not answer your question. If I see potential for an interesting interaction I may draw it, but I can't promise anything. (Keep in mind if I don't respond right away -> 1: I'm timid and get anxious easily. 2: I may not have figured out that part of her story/the history of Ancient Halcandra yet. 3: The answer would have contained a spoiler for my fics. 4: I'm very slow at drawing.)

Overview:

While she's not very big, intellectual or attuned to magic, she is unbeatably chipper and physically strong. She loves fighting and gleefully uses a variety of lovely accessories/weapons like a giant club, enchanted glaive, magitech gauntlets, etc. Her left glove allows her to access a dimensional storage. Teases hard, punches even harder. Actually quite feminine when off the clock. Loves magitech gadgets a lot. Doesn't think science or magic is better, because their society needs both. She's definitely not insecure about her height. She'd also never conjure a giant squeaky hammer to bop you over the head if you call her short.

Likes: Vegetables, Nectar, Trying new foods, The colour green, Flowers, Butterflies and moths, Pretty/cool/badass women, Her club, Brass knuckles, Tinkering, New gadgets, Teasing her friends, Seeing a certain winged magenta knight open up and feel genuine joy

Dislikes: Being mistaken for a child, Being called stupid, Stuck-up people, Seeing her friends being hurt, Strangers flicking her antennae, How much dust and scales her wings leave behind

Abilities: Able to fly. Very physically strong. Innately has access to Suplex and Hammer, but mainly uses her trusty club. Her boots and gauntlets let her emulate elements of Hi-jump, Laser and Mecha. (The boosted jump, laser finger guns and palm blasts, respectively.)

Weaknesses: Can't fly quickly. Stubby little arms limit her great strength with little reach. Distractable and a little naive. Can't resist eating strange and exotic snacks no matter the source. Seeing cute girls (she HAS to show off).

Fighting Style:

Her gauntlets are good for punching and the palms can release blasts of energy as well. They're mainly so she can hold large weapons well, since her actual hands aren't very big.

Her moth wings aren't very big either, so while she can normally fly and can still break her fall when she's armoured, she prefers to zip around close to the ground. It's often faster and easier to run and jump when she's fighting. Especially when she's wielding her heavy club. Her boots help her boost and maneuver quickly.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that because she prefers close range combat and isn't proficient with magic she can't attack at a distance. Her gauntlets possess finger laser guns and she can use her left glove (which she also wears under her gauntlet) to access her weapon hoard at all times. Who knows what else she keeps in there?

Even her civilian outfit isn't harmless. She still has access to her innate Suplex and Hammer abilities, after all. And those shoes have steel toes! Of course, the platform heels are just to keep her delicate wings from scraping across the ground when folded. No other reasons. (Like being taller.)

Design Thoughts:

Olympea is the first of the Heroes of Yore who came to me. I was thinking about how to describe the Heroes of Yore and knew I wanted at least one to be a woman. Suddenly her name resounded through my head! Then I just started associating. Olympea sounds like Olympics, so she must be strong. Pea calls to mind small, round and green, so what if she's (mostly) the same species as Galacta Knight? Peas are famous for research on genetics and alleles, so what if she was born, not formed like him? Maybe she doesn't have a lot of magical affinity. Then she needs weapons. Pea, peace, pea shooters, peas in a pod, peacemaker, pea-smacker. Let's give her a hammer, no, a club! She's strong, so what if she packs a punch? How about some gauntlets for punching? She can have a gun, wait, let's put the gun (pea shooter!) in her gauntlet's finger! She needs storage for her weapon hoard (girl needs to accessorise!) so what if her enchanted gauntlets let her access dimensional storage (peas in a pod)? Hmmm, does she have wings? There's a bug called a pea moth, so she has moth wings now. Her ponytail is twisted like a dried pea pod and not-so-coincidentally looks a bit like a cocoon when down and a boxing glove while up in a bun.

I maaay have gone completely overboard with the whole pea thing, but such is life. Although there is a bit of Hammer Lord in there as well. She doesn't hate magic, she just doesn't have a lot of affinity for it. She does enjoy tinkering and building weapons. This is how she ended up relying mostly on technology instead of magic.

She's not a knight and has no mask, because while many people depict all adult puffballs as masked knights (probably influenced by the Star Warriors from the K:RBAY anime) I personally don't think this has to be universal for their kind. How sad it would be if all they were destined for was fighting! ...And then I made her a warrior anyway. Oh well.
