Day 4:historical
@aphrarepairweek2021
Sorryforbeingadaylate
Oh warning for very minor swearing(only happens three times) but other then that there is nothing inappropriate and also there is implied period typical homophobia in this
Summary: An 80s human AU where a stressed out Chiara (nyo Romano) is saved from going crazy by a hero(Amelia aka nyo America)
Basically this is just fluff, fluff and more fluff
Chiara Vargas was a second a way from flipping her desk and raging down the halls, or at least she would be if she had not possessed just enough self control to hold back on the urge.
“Fuck fuck fuck….” Chiara muttered, the sound coming out muffled from her face being squished against her desk in failure.
“OH, CHIARA” came a high pitch voice down stairs.
Reluctantly she lifted her head to the sound.
“WHAT?I'M BUSY”,she yelled back, mentally cursing her brother for disturbing her sulking.
“A CERTAIN SOMEONE IS HERE FOR YOU",
“WHO IS IT?”,
“YOU'LL HAVE TO COME DOWN AND SEE",
After managing to hold back a bitter protest she stood up then stormed down stairs.
“This better be worth my time, Feli or l swear to Dio l’ll-",
Chiara came to a halt once she saw the girl beside Feliciano.
“Hey!” a cheerful voice as usual from the smiling blonde with pink sunglasses in her hair, dressed in her demine shorts,  red t-shirt and long white socks with a pair of roughed up old sneakers.
“Amelia- uh hi there" She replied while awkwardly fidgeted with the sleeves of her jacket, embarrassed at the realisation that she had heard her yelling.
“Nice to see you calm down, anyway l’ll you two ladies to it”, he winked at Chiara who rolled her eyes at the look, not sure whether to love or hate that it felt the exact same to when her grandfather would make comments about her bringing a boyfriend home.
He disappeared into the sitting room to join Valentino on the couch.
“I was wondering if you would want to hang out, we haven't done that for ages”,
“Oh right, ugh l don't think l can”,
“Sure you can! You're not busy are you?”,
“l am, study”,
Amelia raised an eyebrow at that.
“Study? Our exams aren't till two weeks" ,
“I know, l know but l'm sick of revising everything on the night before the exam, besides l need as much of time as possible to understand this crap",
“Ah fair enough- how about l help ya with it? math l'm guessing?”,
Sighing at the memory of her many failed attempts at completing and understanding equations and formulas she nodded.
“Yeah, but are you sure?”,
“Definitely!”, stated Amelia with both hands on her hips and standing tall to her eagerness for the task.
“Alright then...",
A while later Chiara found her self back at her desk with Amelia standing beside her reading over her practice questions, nervously waiting for the results.
It felt like an eternity before Amelia finally looked up and spoke.
“And…that's like sixty five percent right!”,
“Sixty five?! Where did l go wrong this time?!”,
They had been at this for quite some time now. Despite Chiara’s frustration she stayed relativity calm for the most part thanks to Amelia’s encouragement and little jokes that made her either outright laugh or complain due to what she claimed was annoyance even if though she did find it humorous.
“Symbols, you forgot them again, there's supposed to be a measurement symbol at the end of this to say whether it's centimetres squared or cubed or meters squared- eh you get the point...", she paused then continued.
Miss Kirkland is your math teacher, right? She's real strict when it comes to small stuff like that so she takes off a lot of marks”, explained Amelia while doodling with the pen in the corner of the practice sheet of paper Chiara had used.
Miss Kirkland, certified smartass- even if it is technically her job to be one. Now, Chiara didn’t exactly hate her but she was far from a favourite in terms of teachers she was forced to put up with.
She hated how Miss Kirkland loved to call on those who she knew where not paying attention, there was a sense of snobbishness when it came to the way Miss Kirkland would proudly correct the unsuspecting student with a smile that more closely resembled a smirk.
“l hate this, I'm so close to getting this right but l keep screwing it up”,
“Come on it's fine! You've made awesome progress since when we started! It's only been like what….an hour? Give yourself some credit",
“…l guess you're right. But I'm also stuck for other things- like history and geography suck",
“ Wanna head to the library? They got good resources for both”, questioned Amelia now looking up from her doodling.
“Nah, I've had enough school for today. Let's do something else, anything in mind?”,
“Ooh! A few things-“,
Understandably Chiara was not surprised when they had arrived at the arcade on their bikes.
“Is this becoming an addiction for you?”,
“Ha-ha very funny, you have your obsessions and l have mine”,
“You even call it obsession, keep all this up and l'll be hosting an intervention for you",
This time Amelia genuinely laughed in response, Chiara savoured every second of the sound.
They were stuck there for a while, when it came to Amelia's great interest and Chiara’s competitive attitude it was easy to guess that there would obviously be competitions to see who could score the highest.
To Chiara’s dislike Amelia ended up winning proportionally more then she did followed by listening to the victory taunts from Amelia.
And it seemed that as quickly as they arrived they where off again.
“No, no, no, nah, no, nope, no”,
“Oh come on! l thought you weren't a quitter”,
“I have my exceptions, this is one of them",
Roller skating, she wanted Chiara to roller skate. Clearly Amelia wasn't aware of the fact that Chiara would likely crawl into the ground out of embarrassment if she would likely- no when, when she would end up falling flat on the floor.
“l'll help ya along! You'll be fine", urged Amelia tilting her head to the side with pleading eyes.
Upon arrival to the centre she instantly felt her heart sink knowing what would be expected her. After much convincing from Amelia and equally as much rants about what could go wrong from Chiara- she ended up agreeing to at least attempting to skate.
Chiara felt her chest tighten and face heat up once she suddenly felt the hand of Amelia intertwine with her own, guiding her into the skating area after they got their roller blades.
It was fascinated to see how effortlessly Amelia could move, practically gliding with ease although at a much slower pace due to guiding Chiara along. For this moment anyway, Chiara forgot how to feel anxious.
The last destination for the day was the local diner.
“Two milkshakes please, a double chocolate for myself and a strawberry and banana mix for her”,
“Coming right up, dear", replied the waitress.
“Oh and don't worry l'm paying, l owe ya for last time with the ice-creams” reassured Amelia after she placed their order.
It was the small things that Chiara adored about Amelia the most, how she remembered her favourite foods was one of them. Along with her passing small notes with funny faces on them to her whenever they shared a class and she had noticed that Chiara was dying of boredom.
They sat on the high chairs in front of the counter top as they awaited her drinks, Amelia flapped her hands with giddy excitement once they were received, Chiara couldn't help smile at the sight.
She thought about sharing the milkshake together, putting the straw in her drink like those shitty romantic movies Amelia loves so much. It would be cute wouldn't it? Cuter to see Amelia's reaction to the gesture! She smiled to herself at the idea.
Then her face dropped.
No, no they couldn't, not here, although her smile was brought back again by looking towards her girlfriend who had all her attention on blowing bubbles into her drink.
“Should you really be playing with your food like that?”, she questioned placing the straw into her own drink.
“Might as well make the most of it when my folks aren't here to tell me off ", Amelia shrugged in response.
Chiara found her self agreeing with that mentality and joined in with the childish behaviour.
They cycled back to the house, it was getting dark already.
Amelia was invited in and the two walked past the living room seeing Feliciano and Valentino with their eyes still glued to their precious TV.
At peace now they were sat together on the back porch. There was a small garden behind the Vargas' house, it was closed off by the tall fence( put there mostly so the neighbour's cat couldn't hope over and ruin the vegetable patches or flowers).
The air was humid all day and was beginning to cool down with the sun getting lower and the clouds moving in.
For what could have been anywhere from a minute to a thousand years the two spoke about anything and everything, the topics seemed to flow so easily, naturally changing with ease.
Finally the two sat in comfortable silence, looking towards the sky who’s colours had turned into oranges, yellows and pinks.
This is what Chiara so deeply enjoyed, how they could just sit together and feel so secure.
Routinely this what would be done for one another if the other was upset and asked for so, this time was often spent with their hand held or being hugged by the other.
There would be times where Chiara in particular would wish to be alone, in cases like this Amelia would go prepare or buy a snack for whenever Chiara is feeling okay again, it gave her something to look forward to when she needed to be alone with her own depressing thoughts.
Sometimes when Amelia would be upset she would just want to vent and vent with no words of “it will be okay" or “look on the bright side of things", Chiara was there to listen and agree with the difficulty of whatever situation she found herself in.
Chiara's head was rested on Amelia’s shoulder, her arm wrapped around her in response to it.
Now it was getting cold, thankfully she still wore her jacket…but maybe…
“Amy?”,
“Yeah?”,she quietly answered back to the nickname.
“It's getting a bit…chilly don't you think? Would you, would you like my jacket?”,
“Oh...Uh sure.If you wouldn't mind that is”, a blush covered Amelia’s cheeks, she was rarely flustered or at least visibly.
The jacket was a gift to Chiara for Christmas from one of her relatives, it was given oversized to her but she kept it since it seemed more comfortable like this. On Amelia the jacket finally looked normal, it fit her well and looked quiet lovely.
They went back to silence until Chiara broke it again.
“Thanks by the way. I really needed today- to get my mind off of all this stupid fucking stress l've been trapped in lately",
“Of course. We all need a break now and then",
“You could say that again…l love you" Chiara looked up, her chin now on Amelia's shoulder.
Amelia glanced down at her and grinned.
“The feeling is mutual, sweetheart"
The end
Okay now for me rambling
Uhhhhh l read through this and l don't think l made any mistakes? I'll edit this if there are and sorry if you saw any, idk l'm bad at checking for mistakes and l don't have someone to proof read for me
Oh and Valentino is human Seborga and alsooo not sure if l made it clear but Feliciano does know about their relationship and also Chiara is Bi and happy to feel valid in her relationship with Amelia as if it were the exact same as when she is with a guy and not something taboo in this time period
ALSO damn, sorry this isn't that particular to the 80s- l did leave out things l was originally going to add in though! Like l was going to have Felicianio and Valentino have a movie marton but according to Wikipedia they werent common around then and the ones that did happen were anime soooo y e p
Also thought about adding in a house cord phone but eh idk it felt nicer to have Amelia visit instead of having Chiara call her or if l tried writting it as Amelia calling and then showing up it just felt forced and weirdly put in any way l tried to write it in
AH l am so worried that this is boring or cringy, like l honestly can't tell if it is or is this fine-ehh l guess l've written worse um yeah if you've read this far thanks :)
(I'm editing this for mistakes and wtf 90 is so high why would she be shocked- damn l think l know why l originally wrote that, l was thinking Amelia said ONE of the questions is 90% right but before it l said she was correcting multiple questions so it reads as multiple questions being 90% right all together ANYWAY l corrected it so it's fine again okay bye -AND it turns out l missed some mistakes yet again-editing this for the 3rd time rip)

Spamano multi-chapter fanfiction recommendation masterlist!
For all you home-quarantined people that have nothing to do and also because I’ve been meaning on making one of these since 2015 (took a global pandemic to get me started lol)
These fanfics are all with multiple chapters and listed in no particular order. Of course some are better than others, but every single one has its charms! I added only a few with 3 or 4 chapters because i liked them too much not to whereas the rest of the fanfics have at least 5+ chapters. So without further ado, here they are:
Una Notte A Napoli “One night in Naples, by the moon and sea, my heart was stolen by an angel who had forgotten how to fly.” (completed)
Per Sempre Tuo “Lovino Vargas, better known as Romano, is a famous TV actor. He has everything anyone could ever want. The only problem is that the thing he wants, over-night singing sensation Antonio Fernandez, is married.” (completed)
HOVA “The Nova Sagittarius was a ship that would take myself and countless other passengers on a one month trip around our solar system. But things went wrong; the ship changed and just like that, we were stranded. We got to know each other but more than that, we got to know ourselves.” (completed)
What We’d Do Without Gravity  “While lost in a hospital Antonio comes across young terminally ill patient, Lovino Vargas. With Lovino left only six months to live it’s an awful time a romance to blossom between the ill fated pair, but with a bucket list to race through as the clock ticks down, the two find that love is very hard to avoid.” (completed)
Numbered Lithograph “When Lovino starts attending art school with his brother he finds his most important lesson doesn’t come from his professors, but from a culinary student at a sister school: sometimes the flaws hold the beauty.” (completed)
Tienimi Streto “Lovino Vargas is a detective with a poor attitude and a dark past, driven to the side of law by pain and revenge. After his partner quits, he is paired with specially recruited Antonio Carriedo, who becomes something more than just a co-worker. When deaths linked to the Italian start popping up over the city, Lovino begins to question everything he thought he knew.” (on-going)
More than attraction “Antonio says he met his love’s eyes over the bin of tomatoes. Lovino says he was stalked relentlessly until he was forced to give in.” (completed)
Credo “AU, 1502. Fueled by revenge, Lovino Vargas hasn’t failed an assassination job yet - but when a new Spanish captain comes to Rome, killing the unorthodox Antonio Carriedo might just be the death of him.” (completed)
Secret Tunnels from Madrid to Sicily “When Antonio Fernández Carriedo begins work as a professor at a prestigious university in Britain, one of his students, a Sicilian boy who goes by the name Romano, immediately catches his eye. He is a clearly gifted writer, who closes himself off in the wake of a dark and painful history. Even wrapped in his darkness, pushing everyone away, Toni finds himself determined to bring out the potential within Romano…They drag each other into a passionate, inevitable affair–doomed, they know, to end in flames.” (completed)
Why Did it Have to be You? “Lovino’s parents are tired of his horrible behavior, and hire Antonio to babysit him. But time is a cruel mistress, and in absence the heart grows fonder. These are just some of the things Antonio and Lovino will learn.” (completed)
And the Birds Sing No More “Don’t ever leave me.” Lovino said nothing. He allowed the tense heaviness to settle among his shoulders, tighten his lungs, and spread between the space from where he stood to where Antonio was seated lethargically. Antonio’s gaze sharpened. Lovino, inclining his head slightly, whispered, “I won’t.” (completed)
A Dancing Star “Antonio is the easy-going, life-loving art professor and Lovino is the Italian exchange student who walks into his art studio. When Antonio falls in love he thought he only had his job to worry about, but maybe it’s Lovino’s dark secret that’ll push him away. Trigger warning for self-harm and dark themes.” (completed)
Kismet “Lovino learns the hard way that things change and that they can change quickly. The necklace fell and now he’s in a strange land far from home. Will he ever see his brother again? Will he find his way home? Or will he discover home is where the heart is? Fate is a strange woman and can work in mysterious ways.” (completed)
Let that be enough “Lovino had given up hoping for someone who’d care about him. Antonio never expected to fall for the most tormented guy in town. But dark secrets and hidden dangers threatens their blooming relationship. Is it over before it even begun..?” (completed)
Child services “Romano and Feliciano Vargas have just lost their parents. Romano, who is 22, must care for his 6 year old little brother. Enter Antonio Carreido, the agent from Child Services who must record his progress, however, it’s hard for the cheerful Spaniard to keep from falling in love with this little broken down family and with Romano.” (on-going)
Loving a Stranger “You don’t remember, but I know you. We were- I don’t even know how to describe our relationship. That sounds bad, I know. I think you might have been in love with me, although I cannot see why. That’s just what I’ve been told. I acted as though I hated you, but I never did. I was afraid, because you were kind to me. I didn’t know I loved you until you forgot me…“ (completed)
The Many Personalities of Spain “England casts a spell to rid himself of Spain. As expected it goes wrong; leaving Romano to deal with the many personalities of Spain. That sounds like a normal day for Romano, right? It would be if the personalities not had their own personifications.” (on-going)
Daisy Genocide “My name is Lovino Vargas but that’s not who I actually am. I’m my brother. They put his DNA into a little ball of jello and grew me like a house plant. To say it blatantly, I’m a clone and I’m in a disturbing amount of trouble. I’m about to tell the story of my fight to preserve my humanity followed by a vicious history of crime but it’s a secret. Nobody has to know.” (completed)
More Than Meets The Eye “Striving to find approval and meaning, Antonio throws himself into the world of art determined to come out on top. Yet, in all of his searching, burning, and pain, he never thought that a single culinary student could ever manage to tear down his walls and make him face his biggest fear; himself.” (on-going)
Cryonic “After suffering a fatal attack from an unknown illness, Lovino Vargas underwent cryopreservation, leaving behind his only family, his boyfriend, and a blooming company. Years later the effects are only just coming into play causing more problems than his preservation was supposed to solve. Human AU; T for language; pre-established Spamano.” (on-going)
All of Our Flaws “Antonio is a man whose world revolves around anyone but himself. Lovino is a man with dreams bigger than a job behind a drugstore counter. Antonio is broken; Lovino is incomplete. Will a chance meeting lead them to mending their cracks and finding their missing pieces? Human AU, trigger warning for self-harm.” (on-going)
Truly an artist “Having already completed college, Lovino Vargas lives in Madrid as an artist suffering from severe artist’s block. In one of his visits to his old school he runs into a new teacher, Antonio Fernández Carriedo, who decides he’ll be the one to help Lovino in his endeavor to find himself. However cheerful and optimistic, Lovino still feels there’s more to Antonio than he’s letting on.” (completed)
The Heartbreaker “Sometimes the best things happen unexpectedly. Certainly this is Antonio’s opinion at the moment. The handsome stranger he met upon moving to a new town in Italy seems to be able to do almost no wrong. Until he digs a little deeper below the surface and begins to discover an unsettling reputation. And if the rumours are true, is it wise to trust a man known as ‘The Heartbreaker?” (completed)
We sing, We dance, We eat tomatoes “When Lovino Vargas takes in a starving guitar player called the Curbside Prophet from the streets of Philadelphia, he isn’t expecting the man to tolerate him for more than a couple weeks, much less fall in love with him. Based on the the music by Jason Mraz.” (on-going)
Underwater Land “Antonio was a merman. Lovino hated water. It was truly a match made in heaven.” (completed)
Flashlight “If I throw a tomato at you, vampire bastard, will you still sparkle under the sauce?” Twilight parody. (completed)

Blackbird “Antonio walks into a small coffee joint, hoping for just some caffeine to take the edge off of late-night studying for midterms, and gets a whole lot more than he bargained for in the form of a snarky, foulmouthed, Italian barista.” (on-going)
Counting Stars “Antonio, failed writer and journalist, thinks things are finally going his way when he lands an interview with actor Lovino Vargas. But it’s only the start of a long line of problems… the biggest of which may be Vargas himself.” (on-going)
Cosa Nostra “Based on the historical background of the Sicilian Mafia during the First Mafia War starring Mafia!Romano.” (completed)
Tight Rope “Rich, spoiled kid Lovino Vargas hates pirates. Pirate captain Antonio Carriedo hates rich, spoiled kids. None of them ever thought they could feel something different from hatred towards one another. However, Fate seems to have different plans for them, and twists their lives in unexpected ways.” (on-going)
When You Recover “Nurse Lovino Vargas has to take care of brain damaged patient Antonio Carriedo, who seems to have a strange affection towards him. N-not that Lovino likes it! The Italian is determined to make the man recover, no matter what it takes. What will little Lovino get himself into with this patient?” (on-going)
Like All Things, It Ends “Lovino doesn’t want his family to know how much his childhood trauma still affects him and he does a good job at hiding it. Just Pretend! “Romano liked Emma- a lot. Except her stupid big brother was too overprotective (and, okay, a little scary)! He wouldn’t allow any guy near her- unless they weren’t romantically interested in Emma. So, Romano decided to pretend to be gay, with the help of Antonio, in hopes of getting Emma to fall in love with him. Perfect plan, right?” (completed)
The Duty of an Elder Son “Lovino Vargas knew a lot about duty.” His Grandfather’s swollen empire puts all of his family in danger, the other gangs are massing, the police are on their tails and Lovino is given a bodyguard in one Antonio Carriedo. 1920s Mafia AU fic. (completed)

It’s all Antonio’s Fault “Condoms, footballs to the stomach, fake nurses, confusing hallways, and flying backpacks. Possessively Scary “Romano begins college late with his brother after their nonno passes away. When entering, he meets a very strange Spaniard. The man is odd but still attractive at the same time. As they get closer, Romano learns more about Antonio and doesn’t know if he should be scared of the man or not. Can he get out of something he got himself into?” (on-going)
This Dance “Antonio wants Lovino to be his dancepartner at Austria’s ball. Lovino, struggling with his growing feelings of love and affection for everyone’s favorite tomato-bastard as always, agrees. Now, there could be worse things, right?” (completed)
Powdered Sugar “Truth, like powdered sugar, tastes sweet but goes down cold. If a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down, we might need a bit more.” (completed)
Singles “Antonio, Francis, and Gilbert are three friends who suffered their first heartbreaks at the age of fifteen, and made a pact to never fall in love again. That will change for Antonio when he first lays eyes on a brown-haired young man in a club…” (completed)
A Heated Story “Sky High / superpower hs au. wip. Lovino Vargas is a new kid at Sky High with his brother. He has the power to control fire. Only one problem, he hates the heat. Spamano, and other ships. Doesn’t actually have anything to do with the movie, just used the school.” (on-going)
I Don’t Hate You “Lovino and his brothers face the unknown while on a mission to Earth. The Italian angel comes up against more than he bargained for when a dark angel takes a liking to him and now he and Feliciano might be cast out.” (completed)
Like all things, it ends “Lovino doesn’t want his family to know how much his childhood trauma still affects him and he does a good job at hiding it. That is, until he moves to a new town and meets Antonio, someone he is unable to hide anything from.” (completed)
Disegno e Colore “A young, apprenticing artist, Lovino craves rationality, perfection, and self-possession, and has curated his life to one day attain that. He never expected a chaotic and brash painter to barrel into his life and test everything Lovino thought he wanted and knew of himself, his art, and his heart.” (on going)
Land Beyond Dreams “Antonio is saved from death by someone he’d spoken to only a few times, but who lost his life in the process. Grief-stricken, he only wishes he could have gotten to know his savior, when his dreams suddenly become reality…or are they still only dreams?” (completed)
It’s All Antonio’s Fault “Condoms, footballs to the stomach, fake nurses, confusing hallways, and flying backpacks. Lovino Vargas’s first day at World Academy was already one of his worst, and he could only imagine that it would spiral downwards as he got to know the tomato bastard, otherwise known as Antonio Fernandez Carriedo.” (on-going)
A tale of endurance “Lovino had no idea what to do. Knowing that your life will be over in half a year tends to do that to you. Well, one thing he knew for sure. No one would ever discover this until the day he was pushing daisies. And that was a fact.” (completed)
The Risk of Love “Romano is dead and Spain is broken, spiralling into the deep, blackness of depression. And as he locks himself from the outside world, isolating himself from his friends, from everyone, in his oblivion of pain, Romano find’s he’s the only one who can help. Only, how can useless ghost like him even dream to help the slowly dying love of his life?” (completed)
Dance with me “Lovino Vargas started taking tango lessons completely by accident. Who would have thought that one day he wouldn’t mind those hands roaming over his body? That he would be dancing with his teacher as if there was no one in the room but the two of them?” (on-going)
Fireflies “Lovino was abandoned in Italy with his grandfather at age seven because his parents liked his little brother better than they liked him. On his way back from America, he sits next to a far too happy Spaniard. But, when this childish Spaniard turns out to be his new teacher, what will happen? And with a field trip to Venice on the way, what antics will they get up to?” (on-going)
El Corazón del Pirata “Fate is once kind, twice cruel. And Captain Antonio Fernandez Carriedo does not have a heart, nor does he fall in love with his prisoners. But Lovino Vargas might just be the fuel to his flame - certainly there’s more to him than meets the eye.” (completed)
More Than Lust “Why did the Spaniard always hope for the impossible? That Romano would come to him one day, confessing his feelings, and they would make LOVE? That they would cry out each others names, he could hold the Italian, wake up the next morning, and he would still be there?” (completed)
The Prince and the Pauper “When Prince Feliciano goes missing, it is up to a poor servant boy Romano to step in to take his place and thwart an evil plan to take over the kingdom. However, falling in love was something neither one anticipated. Based off of the Princess and the Pauper.” (completed)
Talking to My Shadow “Lovino spends his life telling doctors about his brother, Feliciano. They hear about his look-alike brother everyday but never see him. Lovino is finally taken to a new physiologist and he meets the doctor’s son, a springy little Spaniard who’s excited to help his new friend, no matter the difficulty. Will this illness mean a life time of seclusion for Lovino or can he win?” (completed)
Spend my time dancing “As much as Lovino loved seeing the upperclassman in his soccer jersey, he’d much rather help him take it off. It’s about time they started playing on the same field. AU. SpaMano. Various others. All’s fair in love and soccer.” (completed)
Maybe, Just Maybe “Romano couldn’t help but be instantly attracted to the stranger on the train, the one with bright green eyes and an unforgettable smile. How could something so simple end up changing his life so much?” (completed)
Dead Alone “Lovino drains the life from anything he touches, seriously. It seems that he’s the embodiment of death while his lively twin brother is his counterpart life. He has isolated himself from everyone, for their own protection. So what happens when a new transfer student decides to take an interest in him his freshman year of high school?” (on-going)
Lovino and the Conquistador “Lovino lived a life of simple pleasures; a good book, his own little world and an odd, but loving, family. However, in order to save his family, he must take their place as prisoner of a hideous beast within a gloomy castle. Based on “Beauty and the Beast” (completed)
Truth Be Told “The Well of Uncomfortable Truths is discovered & deals Spain a hard fact- "Whenever you said you loved him, you didn’t really mean it. You were thinking of his brother. They were empty words.” Can Romano be convinced about whom the Well was talking about?” (completed)
Scaliest “When his entire life is taken from him, Antonio vowed to slay the beast that ruined his life no matter the cost. But on his travels he meets a secretive, sassy bard who might be more helpful than either of them realize. Is vengeance the answer or is there more at stake?” (on-going)
All I’ve lost “Lovino Vargas has slowly fallen into the trap that is Anorexia. He meets Antonio who is a strangely kind kid. Lovino thinks maybe, just maybe…there is hope. Warnings: Depression, anorexia, bulimia, mental illness and bullying.” (completed)
Infection “Antonio didn’t know what to think of the man who randomly showed up in his home… completely naked. Yet, he still found himself drawn to this “Lovino”, only to be thrown into his worst nightmare.” (on-going)
Tomato Angel “What happens when Antonio get’s jealous? (Aftermath of ‘Awesome Being Evil’)” (completed)
Step-Lovers “King Romulus is getting married to Queen Isabel. While the wedding goes smoothly, things don’t go all that smooth for Antonio and Lovino. The heat is especially turned up when it’s decided that there will be a competition for who gets to be heir to the throne.” (completed)
There goes my life “Antonio, 26, a old gourmet chef, a bachelor who’s all party. Lovino a 20 y/o premed student who only has one goal, to be become a doctor. He is determined to let his feelings for the Spaniard fade away, but after receiving devastating news, a drunken one night stand leads to the end of life as Lovino knows it.” (on-going)
Broken Wings, Healed Hearts “Junior Lovino Vargas, a broken angel, has a dark secret he’s determined to keep to himself, now matter how much of an outcast it makes him. But will his new neighbor, Antonio, change that?” (completed)
The Reunion “Light or Dark?” Lovino asked. Feliciano studied him before answering. “Light. Light always wins” When Feliciano Vargas catches the eye of a mysterious man only by the name of “The Lord,” he finds himself and his brother on an adventure ending in Germany’s infamous Black Forest. However, the Lord’s affections are not what they appear to be and Lovino finds himself worried there is a worse threat other than some creep trying to get into his brother’s pants. (on-going)
Slowly But Surely In Love “Lovino Vargas turns fifteen, the age at which the words of peoples’ soul-mates say to them when they first meet is branded onto their wrists. Feliciano has a brand as soon as the hand strikes midnight, but why doesn’t Lovino?” (completed)
Life with Lyrics Lovino Style “Lovino struggles with what he believes is a one-sided crush and his completely oblivious, also entirely too cheerful, brother. Mentions of suicide, but not a death fic!” (completed)
Walking the Line “Maybe stumbling into Walmart in search of supplies during the end of the world wasn’t as good of an idea as Lovino initially thought. Nothing screamed desperate like raiding the aisles of a fucking Walmart for food while a hoard of the undead snarled at him from outside, but that didn’t seem to matter to the armed trio he stumbled into, or more specifically, the odd Spaniard munching on Skittles. His ideas were getting to be pretty lackluster these days.” (ongoing)
Hymn to the Sea “Please, call me Antonio,” he says. “Oh, and Lovino?” “What?” Lovino snaps, a little sharper than he wants when his brain has finally caught up to his embarrassment and he realizes he’s acting like a love-sick child. He finds he still can’t keep up when Antonio’s smile changes into something different: not the friendliness it was earlier nor the comforting warmth it was moments ago. No, this one is affectionate. “I prefer your smile over Feliciano’s any day,” he says, quiet and honest. (completed)
I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You “Throughout the 500 years they spent together, Antonio never stopped reminding Lovino of how special he was, and Lovino never stopped making Antonio the happiest man on earth.” (completed)
Lentamente “Antonio and Lovino are struggling with catastrophic life changes. A traumatic event leaves Antonio scared of his own shadow; a romantic betrayal destroys Lovino’s ability to trust people. And when coping seems impossible, can dance save them?” (completed)
We’d Be Together “Something felt off about Antonio’s new home. The stairs creaked, the windows groaned, and in the mirror he saw a face he didn’t know. The face was young but the gestures old; Toni began a romance untold. He felt an issue new to most… if only he could touch Lovino the ghost.” (completed)
Blessed WIth A Curse “Monsters are real… and they didn’t just hide in your closet or under your bed. Too bad they came in the form of Antonio Fernandez Carriedo- a Spaniard too sexy for his own good. / AU Vampire!AntonioxLovino” (on-going)
Speak  “Lovino is shy. So is Antonio. Oh dear…” (completed)
You Belong With Me “Lovino wished for a lot of things. He wished he had a family or food or fitting clothes or friends but mainly just wished to belong. He doesn’t quite get what he wished for when he meets filthy rich Antonio, who just came from Spain and has settled in the same town as the little thief. Still…it’s a start.” (completed)
The Witch of Sicily “There were still whispers, rumors that the witch of Sicily remained in that forest, cursing all who would come near. It was a place many feared to tread, treated almost as sacred ground. Only fools would dare incite the wrath of the witch by entering that place. Only fools…and pirates.” (on-going)
We the Dreamers “New York City, 1940: Antonio is a recently arrived refugee from Spain, a scarred soldier with firm political convictions. For Lovino, everything is pointless and nothing ever lasts. The two of them live, love and dream desperately, as World War Two threatens to take it all away.” (completed)
Guide Me “After witnessing a startling event, Lovino Vargas finds himself stricken with blindness from a psychological misfortune called ‘conversion disorder’. Without anyone to guide him, he is placed with Antonio Fernandez Carriedo, a novice seeing-eye counselor, who will try to help him regain his sight and if not, teach him how to live in the new dark, lonely world ahead of him.” (completed)
Pirate’s Lullaby “It was the last thing in the world that Lovino Vargas wanted. To fall in love with Antonio Fernandez Carriedo. But when the pirate takes him aboard his ship, Lovino learns that maybe it’s not so bad to be a pirate.” (on-going)
Infamous “Lovino was a childhood actor, but once the show he was a part of got canceled he thought he was free and could leave all the acting and fame up to his brother Feliciano. However, when a 'follow up’ episode is decided upon ten years later, he ends up going back. There he sees a familiar, face; Antonio Carriedo, a singer with his eye on Lovi making normal impossible” (completed)
Guilty Bliss “Lovino has had a drug problem for years that he’s never been able to stop. With his debts getting out of hand, Lovino finds himself in situations that made him wish he had quit.” (completed)
Bottoms Up! “Follow Lovino on his weird and, well, at least quite interesting trip around Europe in order to find out some of the greatest secrets ever about himself, Europe, tomato-shaped alarm clocks and the past of his lovely, but complicated Spanish partner.” (completed)
A Trip To Spain Could Only End In “Lovino is a foreign exchange student in Spain. Things were going just brilliantly before he happened upon a Spanish restaurant in the heart of Madrid where he laid eyes on a certain Spanish Sex God…” (completed)
The Pirates Treasure “Pirate Captain Antonio wants one thing, and one thing only; a mermaid. Boy or girl doesn’t matter, as long as they are royalty and can make him jewels. He’s got his wish, but dealing with this prince is going to be much harder than he thought.” (completed)
Strike a Pose, Fake a Smile “Antonio loves the stage; Romano hates it. So when he’s “convinced” into coming to drama club, he’s not gonna like it. In fact, he’s going to say things that he’ll regret. And because he’s such a good actor, this time Antonio believes him. Uh-oh.” (completed)
A Helping Hand “Antonio owns a cafe low on business. One day a strange boy comes in, running from a group of men and covered in wounds. Antonio offers for him to stay and repay him with work. As payment, the boy Lovino begins to make new dishes to bring more people into the cafe. Who is this boy and why won’t he tell Antonio anything but his name and age?” (completed)
A Beautiful Story “Lovino Romano Vargas is a suicidal designer who is unhappy with his fate. One day, he chances to meet Antonio Fernandez Carriedo, who turns his life upside down.” (completed)
Careless “This year, Antonio had priorities: grades, girlfriend and the Football competition, securing college with his two best friends! But that was before the Vargas moved in with all their drama including kidnapping, threats, and football talents. If anyone asks Lovino, not getting killed would be a clear ecstatic success. He is just what Antonio needed, or not.” (on-going)
This is it for now but I might update this if I get any suggestions, if I remember any fanfic that I missed or if I find any new good ones. If you’re an author and want me to add your fanfic or if you just want to suggest me one don’t be afraid to PM me! (because this is a masterlist after all)

BNHA as Hetalia Characters (Axis + Allies only)
Hahahahaaaa.. I’m still Hetalia trash 😇
Mirio Togata as America
Tumblr media
I first put Denki as America but then I saw a post and now I can’t stop thinking about BTT SeroKiriKami so yeah-
Mirio and America have more things in common other than being blond, blue-eyed precious beans that need to be protected
First of- s t r o n g. They’re both canonically some of the strongest characters in their respective series despite their relatively young ages (Mirio being above some pro-hero levels despite still being in high school and America being well America lmao)
Additionally, they both have drive; they have a determination to become as strong as they possibly could, and stop at nothing to get there
Also, they love helping people! Mirio wants to save a million smiles, and America is a self-proclaimed hero (who admittedly isn’t the best but he’s trying okay)
Both of them kinda also have a hidden intelligence? Like, as in one would never think of them to be highly intelligent people because they’re so goofy and energetic
Since it’s implied that both Tamaki and Mirio game in their free time, him and America are also avid gamers (imagine them playing smash together lmao I feel like they’d break all the controllers)
Both v v competitive too (not as much as the next duo tho)- they’ll never back down from a challenge and face it head on with all their might!
Also, they’re basically the blond boy of the month but it’s every month lmao
(In my eyes they’re both cute little golden retrievers shshsjdjskal)
In conclusion, they’re sunshines who deserve the world and more
Katsuki Bakugo as England
Tumblr media
Okay fr hear me the fuck out-
I know it’s an unlikely pair
But they have their similarities just bear with me here
Yes, I was initially going to put in Romano for Bakugo (anger issues gang)
But then the more I thought about it, the more I realized that unlike Romano, he wouldn’t back away from a challenge or run at the slightest scare- Bakugo would take that shit and smother it into the ground
And while England may sometimes be portrayed as a prude gentleman type, we can’t forget his history- this man is probably one of, if not the most, ballsy countries to exist (at least back in his prime)
England is smart, calculated and cunning- how could you not be when you’ve conquered nearly the whole damn world?
He’s proud and maybe a bit too egotistical, and while lacking the anger issues and probably dead vocal cords of Bakugo, he sure as hell matches him in the pride and power aspect
Bakugo, on the other hand, is literally top of his class; boy is a nerd and has a perfect record
So he’s by no means any less smart than England, maybe a little more reckless, but he’s 16- you can’t exactly compare his mindset to a country’s
Even so he does act quickly on the battlefield, much like England assessed situations very precariously (most of the time)
Both of them would probably look an opponent dead in the eye and tell them to do it, bet you won’t pussy ass
On a lighter note tho, they’re two blond, spiky-haired tsunderes who are way to proud and smart for their own good
They also both listen to rock/punk so there’s that too
foreverfurrowedbrowclubTM
Aoyama Yuuga as France
Tumblr media
I know I just said SeroKamiKiri is the BTT but once again hear me out
I couldn’t not put Aoyama in as France
It’s literally a match made in Heaven guys cmon
They’re both sparkling, flamboyant and fabulous blondies
Although sometimes their attitude can be interpreted as holier-than-thou, really they just know that they’re amazing and don’t care what people think (we stan confident kings 😤)
They also know that they deserve the best luxuries in life, and definitely won’t settle for anything else
In terms of courage, they’re pretty much on the same level; they get scared easily and will more than likely either back out of the challenge or give up the moment they feel tired
The difference is, France will never regain whatever bravery he had before the French Revolution, but Aoyama is slowly building his courage up in his journey to become a hero
They also take things in stride, willingly or unwillingly (whether it be an ugly outfit or a defeat, they won’t be a sore loser lmao)
While not necessarily flirty like France, Aoyama can still charm people with his whims. Also, their relationship towards people that they can’t charm kind of mirrors one another? (Might be reaching here lmao)
I do think though sometimes that Aoyama shows some similarities with Poland/2P!Romano, but he has the most similarities with France so 🤷🏻‍♀️
Toga Himiko as Russia
Tumblr media
You may say she’s more like Belarus but nay nay I say
Belarus is the more kind of ‘stoic’ cruel in my mind; she doesn’t show much emotion besides annoyance and getting angry
Russia however
He’s ‘childishly’ cruel- looks innocent but is capable of some horrible, monstrous things.
Even though his face says otherwise, he does take some glee in torturing harming others (like, a lot)
Toga also does this, but in a much more obvious way lmao. She’s a villain, who drinks blood, there’s no doubt she hasn’t killed anyone. She also takes a lot more pleasure from hurting people than Russia does
They not that close with people, but the ones they are close to they are immensely protective of (Toga and the LOV, Russia and his sisters)
They also are capable of being highly intelligent, knowing more than what people think they know (Toga helping Twice our, and I high key headcanon Russia as a manipulative and cunning bastard who’s done many horrible things to people to get his way)
(I still love you Ivan)
I think this goes without saying but they’re really really violent
Russia just likes using his magic metal pipe of pain, and Toga likes her knives
They also have some really shitty pasts that have lead them to be who they are today
They may look cute on the outside, but they are oh so very cruel on the inside
Shota Aizawa as China
Tumblr media
Haha, old man syndrome-
These two have more in common than you’d think
First off, they have that wisdom that comes with age, and are trying to get the younger ones to learn it (Aizawa does this better lmao)
I can totally see them complaining about ‘kids these days’ even tho they’ve done the same shit back then-
Along with wisdom comes cunning and craft. I headcanon China as a low key genius, so he’s probably on par with Aizawa, if not better (in terms of battle strategy and such)
Even though they come off as strict, all they really want is the best for their students/siblings
They’re both physically strong (China was probably once hella jacked, and Aizawa speaks for himself)
They do tire out quite easily tho so there’s that
Both have a penchant for cute animals like cats (Hello Kitty’s a cat don’t @ me)
On a darker note, they’ve both suffered losses of close friends. While China has definitely lost a lot more, Shirakumo’s ‘death’ still took a huge toll on him. Likewise, China has lost all his ancient friends over the years, making him the last one left (except turkey and Mongolia they don’t matter rn)
Tenya Iida as Germany
Tumblr media
You cannot tell me this isn’t also a match made in heaven
They’re literally, at their very core, almost the exact same person
Iida is a stickler for rules- he follows every single one of them. Any and every. Pretty organized too, if I do say so myself
Likewise, Germany is also very strict with rules and regimens. He’s also canonically OCD so mans cannot stand messes (people or things)
It may make them seem like pains in the neck but really it’s the only way they know how to interact
Also have some angsty connections with their brothers
Although not as easily provoked as Germany, Iida can still be just as terrifying (mans tried to kill Stain I mean come on-)
As with nearly all of these characters, they’re both strong as hecc
Also, I feel like both of them are somewhat pressured by what their other family members have accomplished and want to achieve the same thing (Iida coming from a family of superheroes, and Germany really looking up to his father and brother and wanting to be like them but less yknow)
They don’t really know how to communicate well?? Like, of course they can talk and hold conversation but they have difficulty with most social interactions (it’s adorable)
More often than not the louder voice of reason within their friend group (Everyone in the Dekusquad besides Deku himself is the voice of reason lmao, and Germany is a no-nonsense kind of guy)
Smart bois (In Gakuen Hetalia, Germany is said to be one of the smartest students and tutors Italy, and Iida tries his best)
All in all very awkward and loud losers beans that need to learn how to not be so stiff lmao
Shoto Todoroki as Japan
Tumblr media
Y’all already know I had to pair the introverts together
Calm, collected and reserved- these two mind their own business like it’s a sports championship lmao
Even though they may come off as intimidating sometimes, in reality they’re just shy and don’t really know the basics of social interaction (more than Germany and Iida lmao)
They’re both fairly strong, too (Todoroki with his icy hot quirk makes him one of the most OP characters in MHA imo, and Japan definitely doesn’t carry around a katana just for show)
Very very convoluted and not so great childhood (Think the sengoku period was Japan’s childhood so he was basically torn up as a kid while Todoroki had to deal with Endebitch)
Also both pretty smart??? Like, high key they’re both very intelligent and skilled
Both their friends are slowly helping them get out of that super duper introverted mindset, but the poor bbs are still trying to learn how to be a lot less stiffe
They’re also really into architecture esp traditional Japanese architecture (canon in both)
I honestly think they’d get along pretty well if they met, tbh
(Japan would get him into anime and manga and the bookworm in Todoroki can’t resist)
The strange circumstance of Italy
Tumblr media
Honestly, I could not find anyone in MHA that was remotely similar to Italy
I was very close to putting in Mina or Nejire, since those two come to mind whenever I think of bright and bubbly (Maybe Kirishima too, but it just doesn’t fit)
So while those two are pretty much the most fitting I feel, they don’t completely encompass his character enough yonow?
Like, I genuinely cannot find anyone who is similar enough to compare him to
So for now, until I can find a suitable pick, Italy won’t have a MHA character to be paired up with 😔 sorry guys
What do you guys think? Do you agree or do you think different characters should be put in place?
If this gets enough notes, I might make a part 2 including female nations and the others (or whatever characters you guys request)
Requests are still open! You can ask for edits or character imagines/headcanons!

In Conversation with KOMATSU
~By Willem Verhappen~
Tumblr media
For the past decade or so, super massive mothersludgers KOMATSU have been crushing eardrums and bulldozing down venues all around the world. While early releases of the Eindhoven, the Netherlands based band, like their 2011 self-titled EP and 'Manu Armata' (2013 - Suburban Records), display a relentless combination of stonerized sludge that lives up to the band's name, Komatsu always kept evolving and expanding their sound.
Their latest record, 'Rose of Jericho' (2021 - Heavy Psych Records), is on the one hand a natural successor to 2018's 'A New Horizon' (Argonauta Records), but surprisingly also introduces the listener to a more rocking side of the band. I had the chance to sit down with vocalist/guitarist Mo Truijens and guitarist Mathijs Bodt and after some chit-chat, we went to talk about the new record, the impact of the COVID-19 crisis and much more.
KOMATSU - Rose Of Jericho by HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS Records
Last year, I was in contact with your bass-player, Martijn Mansvelders, and he told me you were impacted pretty bad by the corona measures.
Mathijs: Indeed. Our entire planning basically went down the drain. It started with the last bits of our recording process. We started recording during Carnaval [the end of February] at the Anker Studio in Eindhoven with Peter van Elderen (TankZilla, formerly of Peter Pan Speedrock). Things went very well and we were just at the point where we could start recording the vocals when COVID hit. Usually, there's always one of us present to oversee the process, but that wasn't allowed. After that you get into the mixing process, where usually the entire band is involved and in the studio. As you can imagine, that didn't go through.
Mo: In this case, it was mostly just me who was there. Also because we still had to do the vocals and the mixing of the vocals.
Mathijs: Right, and we got the mix-downs sent to us after which we had to write down and send in our comments. That took a bit longer than expected, but it worked out nice. But like you said, we had planned to release the record during the summer, do a Brazilian tour in September, followed by a release show, here in Eindhoven at the Effenaar. After that we were going to do a two-week tour through Europe. Initially the release show was planned for October 15th, but that got postponed until January, then early February, then the end of February, then the 12th of June, but thanks to the test events we can finally present our record, which was released in February, on the 25th of April.
Mo: What's nice is that this is certain. We don't know whether we'd be allowed to play on June 12th, but April 25th is certain. We found that we couldn't keep on postponing the date, so we decided that if we couldn't play then, there wouldn't be a release show. You can imagine that we're in a rush now with rehearsals, because we were thinking "soon", but now it's happening "very soon".
Mathijs: You have a point there. You're saying we rehearsed a bit, but we couldn't rehearse in our own rehearsal room. Even with the 1.5 meter distance and a face-mask, we weren't allowed to be in there with four people. I believe we've only had 6 rehearsals.
Mo: The good thing is that we're allowed to rehearse now, because currently we're a performing act. I've checked it with the authorities and it's allowed.
You already mentioned that Peter van Elderen produced the record. What was his influence on the process?
Mo: He has a good view on songs and regarding the vocals, while I had rough ideas, he really helped me improve them. He was a great help.
Mathijs: Of course we also have quite a history with Peter. Mo and Peter used to play in Repomen together and I used to be a roadie for Peter Pan. We know him through things like PopEI, Speedfest, Peter Pan, Repomen.
Mo: The circle is complete, so to say. And Pieter [Kloos] eventually did the mastering. It doesn't get more Eindhoven than that.
Mathijs: We recorded the previous two records with Pieter. That worked out great, but for this one, we wanted to try something different. Not because it didn't work out with Pieter, but we just wanted to try something different this time. Peter was heavily involved from the start and he joined our rehearsals and such. We recorded the record in just over a day and a half. Everything is live, with some guitar overdubs added afterwards.
Mo: We finished those overdubs just before the lock-down started, so all the music was recorded.
Mathijs: I think we spent three, three and a half days on the music, so that was a relatively quick process.
The album title, 'Rose of Jericho' (2021), is a symbol of resurrection. I can imagine that relates directly to your new sound.
Mo: Yes, there is certainly more variation and dynamics on the record.
Mathijs: The rose of Jericho, or resurrection plant, is a plant that can go without water for ten, fifteen years. When it receives water it pops back up as a flower. That concept really spoke to us, and that's why the instrumental title track has a bit of a western feel to it.
Mo: We really went for the desert atmosphere on that one. You can almost see the tumbleweed pass by during the intro. The track was originally meant to be called "Tumbleweed," but then I found out that Candybar Planet already has a song called "Tumbleweed." I still liked the desert idea, and eventually we renamed the track "Rose of Jericho."
Can we expect anything special for the release show?
Mo: We'll be playing all the tracks of the record live. In the past that wasn't always the case. I think a lot of these tracks will remain in our set. Of course we will revise our set when we're playing a real metal festival. We'll probably be playing more of our old stuff then, although the roughness is still there in the new tracks.
Mathijs: At some point you're starting to weigh your choices while writing songs. We want to be able to play them live, because we're still first and foremost a live band. That's where we really shine. This was also a period of reflection and we figured that we had fifty tracks on four records. You start listening to them in a different way and you come to the conclusion that we already have so many hard songs.
Mo: Martijn often says things like "This is a quiet song," but a quiet Komatsu song is still far from a quiet song.
Mathijs: We didn't plan on changing our style. It came together in quite an organic way, as a result of playing live, rehearsing and recording. The COVID period was also quite interesting in that regard, because Mo and I never stopped writing music, and we're currently at the point where we could start arranging songs for the next record.
'Rose of Jericho' is your first record on Heavy Psych Sounds. How did that collaboration come about?
Mo: Gabriele [Fiori] arranged a couple of tours for us, like the ones with Nick Oliveri and Duel.
Mathijs: The first tour after I joined the band was the one with Mondo Generator and he arranged the one with the Freeks, featuring Ruben Romano of Nebula and Fu Manchu. So we were already in contact and at some point we just called him.
Mo: Yeah, that was for the previous record, but for that one we ended up at Argonauta. Now we all just said, let's just do it.
Mathijs: It's really cool to be part of a roster like that, to be part of such a stoner family. Gabriele, one of the two people running HPS, also plays in Black Rainbows and to see how involved in the scene he is and what he does for the scene, to be a part of that is just amazing. We already had the connection through the stages we shared and the tours he arranged for us and this is just the next step. It's not the most logical step, but try and find a label where we perfectly fit in with our distinctive sound.
Mo: When we write music, we don't try to fit in the stoner, the metal, or whatever group. We just make the music we like. We don't have any rules from ourselves, telling us what we can and can't do.
Mathijs: In the end we just make the music the four band members like to make.

About that, what are your main influences?
Mo: The Melvins is a favorite of mine, especially their quirkiness. Of course there's a lot of stoner bands, but my roots are within 80's hardcore punk music. Due to the whole COVID thing I started collecting records again. I bought a new record player and now I'm searching Discogs for vinyl of records I used to love and used to have on cassette.
Mathijs: I think that I'm the biggest metalhead in the band. You [Mo] are the punk rocker, Martijn is the new-waver, even though he's also into old school hip-hop, and Jos [Roosen, drums]is a Tool fan and he used to play in Dreadlock Pussy. He and I went to the 25th anniversary show of Machine Head's 'Burn My Eyes' together. He's into that as well. He's also really into metal, but also bands like Helmet. I have quite a broad taste. I'm really into Cannibal Corpse, but I also like the Melvins. I actually met Mo at a Melvins show and a week later I got a call on whether I would like to join his band. The Black Sabbath influence is also clearly present on Rose of Jericho. That first riff is basically a Sabbath riff.
Mo: Sabbath is the mother of all metal bands. I saw Blue Cheer live at Roadburn once. It's slightly different, but from the same period, I think. Absolutely brilliant. They did an interview for the Top-2000 once, where they were still living in a house together, blowing and making music.
Mathijs: I also really like those genre-crossing bands, like High on Fire. They're metal, but also have stoner elements, together with some psych and some rock.
Mo: When I used to play in punk bands, there were set rules, but now I can do whatever I like.
Last question, did you guys discover any new music you're really into?
Mo: Absolutely, they've been around for a while already, but I recently discovered Helms Alee. They're a man and two women and they all sing. When they sing together it's just amazing. Mathijs also got me into Made Out of Babies, featuring Julie Christmas. I'm usually not a fan of female singers, but this is something else.
Mathijs: Yeah, I showed you the record she did with Cult of Luna. That's such an amazing record. Recently I've been listening a lot to a Finnish band called Oranssi Pazuzu, especially their latest record 'Mestarin kynsi'. There are so many different elements in there, it's really cool.
Mo: Recently I bought two Floor records. They've got three records, one that sounds like shit and two that are amazing. I got those on vinyl.
Mathijs: I'm also looking forward to the new Mastodon record. They made a record with the guy who produced the best Tool records and they say it will be far more sludgey, slow and doomy than their previous works.
The curfew is rapidly approaching, so I think it's time to wrap up. Thank you for this interview.
Mo: Thank you and see you later. Maybe later tonight in prison if we don't hurry up.

An idea about Deceit.
I feel like the fandom has forgotten that Deceit is not a villain. I mean, I did for a very long time too. My major fanfics for the fandom include him as some sort of abusive villain.
But... lying comes in many shapes and forms. And people have presented them already, so I present a new one. One that I haven’t seen yet.
Deceit as Patton’s baby brother.
Now, this comes from the fact that not all lying is bad, and in fact it is a crucial step in a child’s development. Kids learn to lie at around three or four years old and all have their reasons to lie.
And so, I present to you. Just a tiny fic on the matter. (For the sake of it, Deceit’s name is Dorian in this. I keep changing his name but do I care? NOPE.)
—————
“Hey Patton.” There were light touches on Patton’s shoulder. “Hey Patton.” A tiny squeak. “Hey Patton. Hey Patton. Hey Patton. Hey Patton. Hey Pat-“
“Hey kiddo.”
Dorian, Patton’s five-years old brother, was clutching his rubber duck (aptly named Daveed) and looking straight at him with big, scared eyes.
...oh.
“Did you have another nightmare?”
“Mm-hmm...”
“Okay, come on. Jump in.” Patton rolled on his back and Dorian immediately crawled under Patton’s blanket, a huge smile on his face. “What’s that smile about, kiddo?”
“I’m not telling you.”
Patton’s phone lit up.
‘Lolo💙💙 @ DIGGITY DANG A DANG: Princey’s ideas are completely chimerical and I refuse to work with him on this project any longer without Patton and Virgil’s intervention.’
‘🌟PRINCEY🌟 @ DIGGITY DANG A DANG: well then i refuse to work with mr pocket protector on this as well!’
His friends were crazy.
‘My Dark Strange Son 😈💜 @ DIGGITY DANG A DANG: SHUT THE FUCK UP ITS TWO IN THE MORNING GO TO SLEEP’
“Okay, Dorian. Come on. Tell me about your nightmare.”
“No!” Dorian’s duck gave a sad squeak.
“Dory, kiddo, you kinda have to if you want me to help.”
‘JD, Chandler, go to sleep. We can do the project in the morning. I promise I’ll bring brownies! xx’
‘Lolo💙💙: Good night, Patton. I’m sorry we woke you up.’
‘Oh, you didn’t, honey! My brother did. See you at school! And don’t kill each other!’
“Come on. You came here because of your nightmares? So I wanna hear them.”
‘🌟PRINCEY🌟: tell him i said gnight and give him a big kiss aight pat? night!’
“There was a giant,” Dorian started. “In the nightmare. And it was rainbow, and it was scary, and it was running to me, and...”
“You mean chasing you?”
“Huh? yeah, yeah... that’s what I meaned. So the giant was...”
Dorian started rambling about his nightmare and Patton could honestly feel himself falling asleep all over again, but he couldn’t allow himself that. At least not while Dorian was talking.
‘Lolo💙💙: I can see you’re still online, Patton. Is anything wrong?’
‘Yeah... my brother just talks a lot, that’s all. I’m going to sleep, I promise! Love you ❤️❤️’
“...and then, and then... I forgot.” Dorian was starting to doze off. Good. Patton had his hand in his brother’s hair, trying to keep from falling asleep himself before his brother...
His mom was going to be so mad when she finds out when they fell asleep.
——
“What do you mean, your brother lied about having a nightmare?”
“I mean my mom came to wake me up today and started the morning with a ‘you have to stop sneaking out of your room just to have a midnight chat, Dorian, it’s not good for you’. I’m serious!” Roman was fiddling with the red scrunchie on his wrist as Patton paced around the stage. ”He’s only five, Roman! What’s going to happen to him if he keeps losing sleep like that? That’s not healthy!”
“Wow, Patton... your brother lies to you - your kid brother lies to you - and you’re worried about his sleep schedule?!”
“Calm down, Chandler, this isn’t the thunderdome just yet,” the familiar monotone voice called, accompanied by footsteps. My savior is here! “A steady sleep schedule is very important for the circadian rhythm.”
“Dorian woke me up at two in the morning to have a talk and told me that he had a nightmare. Good to see you too, Lolo.”
“I take it you’re tired.” Patton grunted. “Why don’t you set boundaries?”
“Have you met my brother?”
“Yes, in fact. I have been over to your house quite some-”
“That’s not what I meant, Lolo.”
“I think what puffball here is trying to say is, his brother is the cutest kid in the world. Would you deny him anything? I know I wouldn’t!”
“It’s not even that, Roman. It’s just...” Patton started pacing again. “He’s the cutest kid, yes, but he’s also so set on breaking the rules all the time!”
“And I think we all know who he got that from, puffball-Veronica.”
“I just know that he wouldn’t care about any boundaries I might set.”
“Do you think Ms. Caulfield would mind you three hanging on stage like that?”
“Goddamnit, Virgil...”
“Great to see that Veronica Sawyer, Heather Chandler and Jason Dean are all breaking the rules as should be,” Virgil noted with an awkward smirk. One of the rare ones. “You know we’re not rehearsing here today, yeah?”
“We all came here for break before rehearsals, Mr. Stage Manager, please.” Roman threw his scrunchie on Virgil. “My dear darling boyfriend, please make sense of the situation at hand.”
“Yes, Roman?”
“Patton’s adorable little kid brother Dorian lied about having a nightmare last night just so he could have a midnight talk and all Patton is worried about is his sleep schedule.”
“Wait, he really did that?” Patton nodded, biting a nail. “Wow. I’m oddly proud.”
“Not you too!” Roman let out a loud groan. “This kid lied about-“
“You literally stayed up until three thirty last night to text me about Dan and Phil playing the sims, Romano. You’re not one to talk.”
“Do you have no shame accusing me of such a thing, Virgil? I thought you loved me!”
“Princey, I do love you. But you’re just so insufferable sometimes.”
“Yeah, yeah. Love you too.”
When rehearsals started a bit later, it seemed as if Roman forgot all about what happened.
——
“Hey kiddo,” Patton said with a giant smile as he got home. His brother was in the living room, watching cartoons. Patton assumed their mother was in her office painting mandalas, which would’ve been the only explanation as to why Dorian was watching cartoons.
...while sporting a huge black eye.
“Patton! I’m watching something and I don’t know what it is but-“
“What’s that shiner you got over there, Dorian?”
“It’s nothin’. I runned to a door handle thingy.” He pulled his shoulder, squeezing his rubber duck.
“Do you need some ice to put on it, buddy?” Dorian shook his head. “Okay. How about donuts? Would they make you feel better?”
“Yes! But not from where mommy gets the donuts because that’s where Jake Baker’s mommy works and Jake Baker doesn’t like me and he hit me today and pushed me and I felled on a swing and I don’t wanna go around him.”
...ran into a doorknob, huh.
“Didn’t you go to Dahlia’s today, honey?”
“No. I didn’t want to.”
“Patton, sweetheart?” Their mother called from her office.
“Hey, Mom!”
“How was rehearsal today, sweetheart?”
“It was good! I’ll tell you at dinner!”
Things mostly fell into silence after that, Patton joining Dorian in watching the cartoon (Voltron, Patton noted, one of the cartoons he did not want Dorian to watch without him around). And then...
“Can I have cereal, Patton?”
“Of course.” Patton got up to the kitchen. “What did you have for lunch, Dorian?”
“Uhh... a sandwich. And an apple! From Dahlia!”
“That sounds like a nice lunch, kiddo.” No it didn’t. “Which cereal?”
“I don’t care.” So fruit loops. Alright.
By the time Patton got back to the living room, Dorian’s stomach was growling. Of course. That kid was adorable, but he needed to stop lying.
“Why’d you tell me you had lunch today?” Dorian looked up from his cereal bowl. “You didn’t. I could hear it.”
“But I did!”
“You don’t like apples, Dory. I know you don’t.” The kid’s face started turning red. “Come on. Why’d you lie to me?”
“...I forgot lunch at home. But I did eat the apple!” Patton shot him a look. “I swear I did!”
“Look, kiddo... lying isn’t always a bad thing, but you gotta learn when to.” Dorian looked confused. “You shouldn’t lie about lunch, because not eating isn’t good for you. You shouldn’t lie about nightmares, because sleep is very important for everyone, including you. You especially, Dorian. And most of all, you shouldn’t lie about being hurt. If someone hurt you, you tell me. I’ll make everything okay. Okay?”
“...I did eat an apple.”
“...okay. Let’s go with that.”
——
“Hey Patton.” A light touch on his shoulder. “Hey Patton.” A soft squeak. “Hey Patton. Hey Patton. Hey Patton. Hey Patton. Hey Pat-“
“Hey kiddo. Another nightmare?”
Patton rubbed his eyes and grabbed his glasses, looking at his brother as he climbed into his bed. His phone was buzzing with texts.
‘Lolo💙💙 @ DIGGITY DANG A DANG: I’ve been listening to Burn from Hamilton for the last hour and a half. Some help would be welcome.’
‘🌟PRINCEY🌟 @ DIGGITY DANG A DANG: no can do, compadre! youre on your own in this!’
‘My Dark Strange Son 😈💜 @ DIGGITY DANG A DANG: @ Lolo💙💙 hey you, out there in the cold, getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me?’
Lolo💙💙 @ DIGGITY DANG A DANG: @  My Dark Strange Son 😈💜 wow... Thanks on somehow making it worse, Virgil.’
‘My Dark Strange Son 😈💜 @ DIGGITY DANG A DANG: anytime, sherlock’
‘Go to sleep, will ya? It’s one thirty in the morning!’
“So... nightmare?” Dorian hummed. “Wanna tell me?”
This was going to be a very long night.

He’s a lover of travel, sports, and the great outdoors.  Above all else, though, is family… with love following shortly behind.  But, if you’re looking for some juicy details in that area, you may be a little disappointed.  This strapping young actor doesn’t kiss and tell.  What he does do, however, is entertain! Whether he’s tearing up the floor for the Wayans Brothers, getting you to laugh out loud in the movie theater, making you drool on General Hospital, or capturing your attention in his more serious roles, one thing is for sure; he’s having a great time.  And why shouldn’t he?  Good-looking, smart, talented, energetic, with a good head on his shoulders… make sense.
You were in the movie Dance Flick… What was it like working with the legendary Wayans brothers?
The Wayans brothers are comedic icons. I grew up watching In Living Color, so I've been a big fan of their work for quite some time. When I was a kid, my mom would say, "Ross, time to turn that off and do your homework," and I would respond, "yo, homie don't play that!" Of course that didn't fly so well with El Jefe.  When I got the call from my agent about "Dance Flick" I thought, "yes! This is my Jim Carey moment...I have to show these guys I can hang with their comedy". I made it past the first couple auditions, all the way to the final test, which would be in front of the entire Wayans family at Paramount. I was amped to get in there and do my thing, but also a bit terrified to bomb in front of such prolific comedians.
I can only imagine.  So, how did you overcome your fear?
I decided to let it rain and just go as far with the material as I could. They surprised me in the room and told me I would have to B-boy dance to some old school track. So I threw some Michael Jackson spins with a bit of pop n' lock and proceeded to slide down the table that they were all sitting at. Needless to say, they were in hysterics. That was a surreal moment...making the legendary Wayans laugh! I've never laughed so hard making a movie! Every day we came to set was like going to a dance party and cracking jokes. The Wayans are all about family and loyalty, so the whole production had a very familial feeling to it. The director, Damien Wayans, would let us improv as much as we wanted and if it was funny, he'd keep it in. It was a very liberating experience working with these guys...they realize that comedy happens in the moment and a lot it of you can't plan or write for.
I guess you wouldn’t really call it work then.  Was it just one big blooper reel?
We laughed all day long on this movie. I found myself not wanting to go home at the end of the day because we were having too much fun. During our lunch breaks, rather than sit in our trailers, we'd go out into the parking lot and blast the music and have giant dance battles. We had some of the best dancers in the world working on this movie, so we got to watch them battle it out and cut rugs every day. Each one of them had different styles and techniques...it was like seeing the movie Wild Style up close! It was definitely a unique experience being a part of a film where I was also getting the chance to see the inner circle and culture of the professional dance scene.
Well, you've won numerous festival awards.  Can you tell me about some of the projects behind the awards?
I've been fortunate to have worked on some really extraordinary independent films. I enjoy working on these types of projects because I feel there is often more room to push the boundaries and take risks. Independent film is usually harder to get financed and made because it generally doesn't fit the Hollywood model for big monetary return. That being said, the filmmakers and
actors involved don't have giant studios and executives dictating their every move, so there is freedom to push the envelope with the art. I played a deaf man trying to start his own business while facing the obstacles that presents with his handicap, in the movie What's Bugging Seth?. I've worked with acclaimed indie directors Jonah Markowitz on Shelter and Christopher Landon on Burning Palms… just to name a few.
When you were in the sequel to 1992's The Cutting Edge, I hear you did your own stunts?
In my work, I try to do as much of my own stunts as the director will let me do. For The Cutting Edge: Going for the Gold, I had already known how to rollerblade on half-pipes and I could hold my own on ice skates. When I was eleven years old, my mom finally caved in and allowed me to get a half-pipe built in my backyard. I learned how to skateboard, BMX, and rollerblade on
the half-pipe and soon my house became the after school "go to spot" for all the neighborhood kids. I'm sure at the time, my mom was worried I was going to break my neck on the thing, but all these years later I was able to say, "See, Mom! The half-pipe paid off...I was able to do a lot of my own stunts in the movie!" Of course there are always going to be certain tricks that are just too risky for the lead actor to attempt and, for that, we have really amazing stunt guys who are the best in the biz at what they do. One of the challenges that CE2 presented was learning to be graceful on ice skates. Sure I could hockey skate, but the role called for me to go from progressive street skater to finessed ice figure skater. To train for that, Christy Romano and I had a really great coach that worked with us on ice to prepare for the movie. We weren't doing our own Triple Sow Cow Lutz's, but we did quite a bit. The director, Sean McNamara, and I have gone on to work on many other projects together, Soul Surfer being one of them. Sean always knows that I am game to take on any challenge and rock my own stunts!
Even with all the training involved, were there any major injuries?
There was a pretty substantial amount of training involved in preparing for this film. A lot of it, though, we learned on the fly with the help of the fantastic real life figure skaters that worked on film. The only injuries I suffered were a few bumps and bruises here and there, and a consistent black and blue arse.
Okay, let's talk about your steady gig on Beyond The Break. Give me a little run-down of the show.
Beyond the Break was a television series shot on the West Coast of O'ahu in Hawaii. The series revolved around the world of the competitive surfing and the drama that comes with that territory. I played Bailey Reese, who is the equivalent of a Kelly Slater type professional surfer. Bailey's life was fueled by his strong passion for women and waves.
Was it fun working on the show since you're already into surfing "outside the office"?
Working on a show like this was a blast. We got to go to work on the beach and surf all day...not too shabby. Since I loved to surf already, being able to pay my bills doing so was pretty epic. Not to mention, we worked with some of the best world class surfers and watermen in the game. I also took part in once in a lifetime opportunities while I was there, like paddling out with Brian Keaulana and other pro surfers into Waimea Bay; plus being a part of the circle in commemoration of the infamous Eddie Aikau.
What else do you like to do outside of acting?
I love to be active in the outdoors. I am an extreme sports adrenaline junkie, so whether it's a wave, glacier, or motorcycle...I'm on it! I also love traveling to remote regions and spending time with indigenous people. Some of the most influential teachers in my life have been from tribal communities and I take every opportunity I have to learn from their supreme wisdom. As a result, I have also become a strong advocate for the protection of indigenous rights and territories. I spend a lot of my free time campaigning against various forms of globalization on the rainforest and its inhabitants. Last year, I made a short documentary film called Extraction: The Plundering of the Amarakaeri Reserve, which provides first-hand accounts from the indigenous Harakmbut tribe, living in the shadow of seismic exploration on their land deep in the heart of the Peruvian rain forest. I also enjoy reading non-fiction adventure books, writing, playing music and spending time with my family.
Do you get enough time to focus on your personal life to do all these things?
I am one of those people who goes nonstop around the clock. It's a blessing and a curse. Being this way has helped me accomplish many goals and helped propel my career. But at the same time, I always have to remind myself that I need to take time and meditate and be still. I think in order to be clear and centered, we owe it to ourselves and to spirit to quiet the mind and
simply be. This is not something that comes easy for me, but something I constantly work on.
So, tell me about how you got onboard with General Hospital.
My manager, Allan Grifka, had received a call from General Hospital casting director, Mark Teschner about a role he thought I might like to do. Mark and I almost worked together the summer before on a film he was casting, but I was already involved in another project that filmed at the same time, so I couldn't do it. Mark kept me in mind down the line and sure enough, thought of me for the role of Brandon on GH. It was a character I'd get to really sink my teeth into and play with. Brandon is a bad guy and really a disgusting person, so getting outside myself and tapping into that was a challenge I was intrigued by. I was offered the part and two weeks later I was on set wreaking havoc on Port Charles.
How does working on a Soap Opera differ from acting on regular television series'?
I have a lot of respect for Soap Opera actors. These people have to learn incredible amounts of material and in an extremely small amount of time. Often times, you are literally getting pages upon pages the night before you shoot. It takes discipline and technique to thrive in this genre of work. For me, it was a real learning experience and one that forced me to be on my game. You have to be on point because nine out of ten times you are only getting one take. I am used to working in film where you spend the entire day working on five pages and perfecting the scene to the best it can be. In the Soap Opera world you can literally be shooting over a hundred pages a day. It's intense, but exciting and a lot fun.
Let's switch over to film again.  How about some of your most recent projects?  Let’s go back to Soul Surfer.
I am very proud to be a part of the film Soul Surfer. Soul Surfer is the inspirational story of surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm to a Tiger Shark attack when she was just thirteen years old. SS portrays the heroic and courageous comeback of Bethany as she perseveres above all the odds to get back on the board and once again do what she loves so passionately. I play her older brother Noah, who is an important part of Bethany's life and story. Noah has been a strong proponent of Bethany's talent for surfing and her quest to become a professional in the sport, since they were little kids. Rather than focus on his own surfing, Noah generously and selflessly helps propel and support Bethany to stardom. He is also her personal photographer and helps manage her career. When Bethany loses her arm, Noah's world, along with the whole Hamilton family's, feels as though it is crashing down. However, with Bethany's unbelievably positive and optimistic attitude, she has an infectious charm on the whole family and they are able to bond together and ultimately use what happened to her to spread the message of hope, faith, courage, and determination to people all over the world.
So, preparing for anything right now or just laying a little low?
I am preparing for a new role in a movie I am starting at the end of this month. Unfortunately, I cannot disclose details at this point, but there is exciting stuff on the horizon!

QUESTIONS
What is your special talent/skill as a roleplayer?
I’m not sure, I’m good at analyzing things and making headcanons and looking into a muse psychologically.
What is your favourite type of roleplay genre, and why?
I love historical rp’s they’re so much fun. It’s just so much fun to explore a muse in a different time period and to look at everything that’s going on and it’s a great opportunity to learn more about history as well, Whenever I do one I try to not look at it as history per se but as how they would of seen it at the time, just their life or current events. They’re in that moment specifically and they don’t know what will happen in the future, there’s only then and there, their lives now. It’s a reminder to me that to people in the past, they saw historical events perhaps how we see events now, things that are happening in the world, alive and urgent and vibrant or perhaps even dull and boring and unimportant, only to become important later.
Why did you pick your muse?
Roma was someone I felt I could relate to somewhat but at the same time wasn’t too much like me. However the more I rped him the more I fell in love with him, I kept re-reading canon and researching history and culture as well and this made me fall in love with him more and more and I’m so glad I picked him
if you could write any other muse - but know you don’t have the muse for him/her - who would it be?
maybe aph monaco or aph romania but I’m happy with the muses I have now. I also have a vatican state oc and peru oc.
What is one thing you think you need to work on as a partner?
I should be less shy, and also procrastinate less. That’s two things but oh well.
What would be your warning label to other roleplayers?
I’m very shy and a introvert and over all a private person and hard to get to know. It annoys me sometimes tbh but I try to be friendly too. I also can disappear off of tumblr easily if I get tired or distracted (which happens easily) and sometimes replies can take a while if I have too many
What is your favourite episode/scene of your muse?
It’s very hard to pick, there’s just so many. Perhaps in the strip when he’s talking to Prussia and he’s barefoot and he just said he doesn’t care about shoes, that he has things he considers more important. It’s such a small moment and yet, it says so much about him really. How he’s simple at heart and how material things aren’t really that important to him. Also that he must be pretty used to and ok with going barefoot and being seen barefoot  since when he has issues or feels self conscious with something it’s very obvious. Either that or just moments like when he’s hiding behind spain or his brother that show he’s actually quite timid sometimes, or in the new world stars strips all his moments have been wonderful tbh. I could go on, every romano moment in hima’s strips is great.
What crack!ships do you have for your muse?
I actually dont really have any, that being said I’m open to things happening cause of chemistry.
What is your senpai blog?
I don’t really have one.

Rule No. 2: Repeat Rule No. 1.” –Connie Schultz. Dads are just little boys who love setting things on fire but all grown up. So you either have to choose a life of arson or barbecue—thankfully most dads choose the grill.
Why can nobody in this house turn off a light?!
Dragon Images/Shutterstock“By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he’s wrong.” –Charles Wadsworth, a classical pianist. One day you look in the mirror and realize that not only do you look like your dad, you act like him and sound like him too. If you’re really lucky, he’ll even be around to point it out to you.
Dad-fashion rule #1
valbar/Shutterstock“You can tell what was the best year of your father’s life because he seems to freeze that clothing style and ride it out.” –Jerry Seinfeld.  Dads get a lot of flack for their cargo shorts, old t-shirts, and white (grass-stained) sneakers, but the truth is they were saving their money to make sure you had nice clothes. OK, and they really just love those shorts. So. Many. Pockets.

Want to know how to be a good man? Learn from the best.
bondart/Shutterstock“Mom and Dad were married 64 years. And if you wondered what their secret was, you could have asked the local florist—because every day Dad gave Mom a rose, which he put on her bedside table.” –Mitt Romney. Romney credits his dad with teaching him how to be a husband and father. Now, grab a tissue because the post-script makes this story of a decades-long marriage even sweeter. “That’s how my mom found out what happened on the day my father died—she went looking for him because that morning, there was no rose,” he added.
How to give your kids good self-esteem
Phovoir/Shutterstock“I asked my dad if I looked fat in my bathing suit at the beach and he said ‘Keep drinking and you won’t care.” –Hannah S, from The Tonight Show. This dad has certainly figured out one hilarious answer to the “Does this make me look fat?” question. For more fatherly wisdom, check out funny advice dads will love.
Dads set examples
Andrij Garry/Shutterstock“My father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.” –Clarence Budington Kelland, author. Great dads know that telling your child to do something is a recipe for complaining, but working alongside your child is a recipe for lifelong success and adoration.
Well played, dad, well played
Monkey Business Images/Shutterstock“When I was little my dad had me convinced the ice cream truck only played music when it was sold out.” –Anonymous. The ease with which some dads come up with “creative” explanations on the fly is a seriously underrated skill. Although they may come to regret it when their kids grow up to be “creative” teens!

Being a dad is a lot of work
pixs4u/Shutterstock“Any man can be a father but it takes someone special to be a dad.” –Anne Geddes. Being a dad is so much more than giving your last name or sharing your DNA. Signing your name to the birth certificate is a lifelong promise of love and support. To see how real dads honor this, check out these 31 hilarious stories about dads.
All he really wants for Father’s Day is a nap
DGLimages/Shutterstock“There should be a children’s song: ‘If you’re happy and you know it, keep it to yourself and let your dad sleep.'” –Jim Gaffigan. When your kids are young they want to tell you everything even though it’s nothing you want to know. If you’re a good listener then they’ll still talk to you when they’re older and you want to know everything.
And it’s not because he wears lifts
Halfpoint/Shutterstock“A father is someone you look up to no matter how tall you’ve grown.” –Anonymous.  Dads may set the bar high but they’ll always be there to help lift you the last few inches to help you reach it—even if you don’t recognize it until you’re grown and a parent yourself!
Sugar ’em up and send ’em home
Katya Shut/Shutterstock“The only thing better than having you as a dad is my kids getting to have you as a granddad.” –Anonymous. If grandchildren are the payoff parents get for not killing their kids when they were teenagers, then grandfathers are the payoff kids get for putting up with years of dad jokes. Start stockpiling band-aids
Zarya Maxim Alexandrovich/Shutterstock“Being a great father is like shaving. No matter how good you shaved today, you have to do it again tomorrow.” –Reed Markham, educator and author of Happy Father’s Day: Great Thoughts for Great Fathers. On the other hand, if you make a mistake, chances are it will heal quickly and you’ll do better next time. Looking for ways to bond with your kids? Try these 17 fun ideas dads and kids love.
When they set the bar high, you jump higher
Filipe Frazao/Shutterstock“Lately all my friends are worried that they are turning into their fathers. I’m worried I’m not.” –Dan Zevin, comic and author of Dad Gets a Minivan. If you were raised by a great father, the greatest compliment you can give him is to follow in his footsteps—well, except maybe with the hair situation.
Nobody does tough love like a tender father
Tropical studio/Shutterstock“My mother protected me from the world and my father threatened me with it.” –Quentin Crisp. Of course, your dad acted all tough, but on those days when the world really kicked you in the teeth, he was the first (and sometimes the only) one there to pick you up.
Being a dad means learning on the job
India Picture/Shutterstock“Before I got married I had six theories about raising children; now, I have six children and no theories.” –John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester. Part of it might be because your kids took all your fancy parenting books and used them to build forts and then refused to put them away. Now you have no idea where they (or your collection of vintage maps) are.

Oh, I’ll give you something to do!
4 PM production/Shutterstock“Growing up, I remember my dad saying ‘If you’re bored, you’re a boring person’.” –@silver_shots90 on Twitter. Kids know better than to whine to dad that they have nothing to do. It only takes one Saturday of weeding, lawn mowing, car washing, and doing windows to make you seriously reconsider using the word “bored” ever again.
Except minus all the fun parties
bbernard/Shutterstock“Having children is like living in a frat house—nobody sleeps, everything’s broken, and there’s a lot of throwing up.” –Ray Romano. Not to mention finding underwear shoved in weird places, everyone’s broke, and no one can remember who got the milk out yet they’re 100 percent sure it wasn’t them. Dads make the best observations—here are 8 wise sayings from everyday dads.
Here’s a perk they never tell you about
Liderina/Shutterstock“Fatherhood is great because you can ruin someone from scratch.” –Jon Stewart. Of course, the definition of “ruin” is in the eye of the beholder. If you teach your kid to play video games in their underwear while eating flamin’ hot Cheetos have you ruined him… or just ensured you’ll have a built-in best friend for life?
Dads are the masters of not caring what other people think
ANURAK PONGPATIMET/Shutterstock“My dad used to say, ‘You wouldn’t worry so much about what people thought about you if you knew how seldom they did.” –Phil McGraw. This is how they get away with black knee-high socks and open sandals all summer long. Check out these 21 things your father-in-law is secretly thinking.

If only there was a secret “dad school”
Peter Bernik/Shutterstock“When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant, I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.” –Mark Twain. Nothing will make you appreciate your father’s wisdom like having a kid of your own. Suddenly, you realize there was a method behind what you saw as mere madness.
And he was President of the United States
Africa Studio/Shutterstock“I’ve been to war. I’ve raised twins. If I had a choice, I’d rather go to war.” –George W. Bush. Being a good father is a whole different kind of battle—one where you’re never quite sure who the enemy is and getting shot by friendly fire is just part of life. If you do it right, however, everyone wins.
Wait, why did I come in here again?
Monkey Business Images/Shutterstock“Any other dads feel like their memory is gone? I swear I need to bring a list with me to the grocery store for three things and two of them are bread and eggs.” –Andrew on Twitter. Dad-brain is every bit as real—and debilitating—as Mom-brain. Now, if only we could remember where we put that list… Do you know these 3 dad rules for a happy life?
Every kid is different
Dragon Images/Shutterstock“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will always believe it is stupid.” –Albert Einstein. Along with being one of the best scientific minds in modern history, Einstein was also the proud dad of three children.

If you could leave your kids just three pieces of wisdom
AboutLife/Shutterstock“My dad always taught me to never be satisfied, to want more, and know that what is done is done.” –Thierry Henry. This advice definitely worked for Thierry, a retired pro-soccer player who currently helps manage the Belgium national soccer team. But even if neither you or your child are a professional athlete, drive is one of the greatest gifts a dad can give.
No matter what, dad is always in your corner
Aleksei Potov/ShutterstockMy father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me. –Jim Valvano, college basketball coach. One of the reasons kids can surpass their parents is because they have a dad who believes they can do everything they ever wanted and is there to help them achieve their goals.
Being a dad changes you
Dasha Muller/Shutterstock“Becoming a father increases your capacity for love and your level of patience. It opens up another door in a person, a door which you may not even have known was there.” –Kyle MacLachlan. But the actor wasn’t done yet! “That’s what I feel with my son. There’s suddenly another level of love that expands,” he added. “My son is my greatest joy, out of everything in my life.”
Dads are the gift that keeps on giving
Evgeny Bakharev/Shutterstock“When a father gives to his son, both laugh; when a son gives to his father, both cry.” –Anonymous. Rare is the man who can open an ashtray made by the tiny hands of his child and not get a little teary—even though he’s never smoked a day in his life and needs an ashtray about as much as he needs a horseshoe. Instead, get your dad one of these 57 Father’s Day gifts he’ll love.

Well this should end the spanking debate
Monkey Business Images/Shutterstock“Never raise your hand to your kids. It leaves your groin unprotected.” –Red Button. Dads learn quickly to never let their guard down around their kids. Just when you think they’re asleep and it’s safe for you to zone out on your phone, they’re smearing poo on their walls or eating crayons.
See these gray hairs? I never had them before you were born.
Dragan Grkic/Shutterstock“Children are a great comfort in your old age. And they help you reach it faster too.” –Lionel Kauffman, author. They say that before you become a father you never really know what true love is. Of course, you don’t know true terror, worry, exhaustion, or sarcasm either.
Don’t you know how those things are made?
Monkey Business Images/Shutterstock“People ask what it’s like to have four kids, and I just tell them ‘picture that you’re drowning, then someone hands you a baby.'” –Jim Gaffigan. The best part of this quote? Gaffigan now has five children. We’ll send him a lifeboat. In the meantime, watch one of these 10 movies about dads that will tug at your heartstrings.
Dad in the eye of the beholder
Rido/Shutterstock“It doesn’t matter who my father was; it matters who I remember he was.” –Anne Sexton. This is either the most heart-warming or terrifying thing a child can say about her dad. Our advice? Take lots of pictures so you’ll have proof when they bring you up in therapy later.

Education comes in many forms
Alinute Silzeviciute/Shutterstock“Your son and your daughter need an excellent father more than an excellent college.” –Nick Vujicic, clergyman. Your kids can learn math, reading, and other skills at school but they’ll learn the real-life lessons—perseverance, forgiveness, charity, and love—from you.
The most important job
4Max/Shutterstock“Being a dad is my most important role. If I fail at this I fail at everything.” –Mark Wahlberg. There may not be performance reviews, raises, expensed lunches, or clear project goals but when it comes to jobs, fatherhood has the best perks. Couch snuggles, butterfly kisses, painted hand prints, and burnt toast on Father’s Day are way better than any award, right?
At least it’s money well spent
wavebreakmedia/Shutterstock“A father carries pictures in his wallet—where his money used to be.” –Anonymous. Spending money on your kids is investing in your memory bank. That may not sound like much now but when you’re older you’ll be grateful there is so much to withdraw.
And the lifetime achievement award goes to Dad
Rido/Shutterstock“I would say my greatest achievement in life right now—my greatest achievement, period, and I’m still trying to achieve it—is to be a wonderful father to my kids.” —Bo Jackson. And this is the guy who was named an all-star in both pro baseball and football. We bet his kids are just as proud of him as he is of them!

Babies have that effect on people
bbernard/Shutterstock“The only way I can describe fatherhood—it sounds stupid, but—at the end of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, you know how his heart grows like five times? Everything is full; It’s just full all the time.” –Matt Damon. Children have a magical way of showing us that we are capable of so much more love than we ever thought possible and bringing us back from the brink of despair.
Dads set the example their children will judge all other men by
Twinsterphoto/Shutterstock“I decided in my life that I would do nothing that did not reflect positively on my father’s life.” –Sidney Poitier. Who, in a moment of weakness, hasn’t stopped to think, “What would my dad say if he could see me now?”—and then changed course?
You can’t help falling for those big eyes
Katsiaryna Pakhomava/Shutterstock“Having a kid is like falling in love for the first time when you’re 12, but every day.” –Mike Myers. Every dad thinks their child is the smartest, most beautiful, funniest person on the planet—and that’s exactly how it should be.
It’s the best and the worst part of being a dad
Monkey Business Images/Shutterstock“It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us fathers and sons.” –Friedrich Schiller. Decades of shared history bond fathers and kids in a way nothing else can. When you look back on the memories of your childhood, your dad is always there in a supporting role.

But if they know that, they know everything
wavebreakmedia/Shutterstock“I wasn’t anything special as a father. But I loved them and they knew it.” —Sammy Davis, Jr. At the end of the day, the best gift you can give your kids isn’t a new toy, or a trip, or a video game—it’s the gift of your time. Show your kids you love them, don’t just say it. Have a great dad in your life? Tell him with one of the 13 best compliments you can give a parent.
It’s all about priorities
Jacob Lund/Shutterstock“My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, ‘You’re tearing up the grass’; ‘We’re not raising grass,’ Dad would reply. ‘We’re raising boys.'” –Harmon Killebrew. It’s easy to lose sight of the big picture when you’re caught up in the day to day chaos of raising kids. Take a minute to remember who, and why, you’re doing all this in the first place.
Said like a true politician
Alena Ozerova/Shutterstock“I have found the best way to give advice to your children is to find out what they want and then advise them to do it.” –Harry S. Truman. A good father is a great listener. Telling your child what to do is easy, watching them make mistakes and learn how to do it themselves can be one of the hardest things a dad ever has to do.
Not all fathers are biological
digitalskillet/Shutterstock“Whoever does not have a good father should procure one.” –Friedrich Nietzsche. Just because a man gave you half your DNA doesn’t mean he deserves the title of “dad.” If biology has failed you, make a beautiful family out of those who love you like family.

Not to mention all the times she throws up on you
Rehan Qureshi/Shutterstock“I rescind my earlier statement of ‘I could never fall in love with a girl who poops her pants.’ I hadn’t met my daughter yet.” –Dax Shepard, actor. Parenthood will push you to the very limits of what you can handle, especially when it comes to gross bodily functions.
And baby teeth are razor sharp
Hrecheniuk Oleksii/Shutterstock“There are times when parenthood seems nothing more than feeding the hand that bites you.” –Peter De Vries. Parenting can be a truly thankless job—where else can you do everything exactly as the customer ordered it only to have them throw it at you and break down screaming for no reason at all? But that doesn’t mean they’re not grateful. You’ll just have to wait until they’re 30 for them to tell you.
Babies also like to spike their hair up
goodluz/Shutterstock“The kid who throws his spaghetti from the high chair onto his father’s face, he’s pushing back. He’s sticking it to the man as he sees it. I like that. So that is punk.” –Henry Rollins, punk musician. Who doesn’t love a kid who’s got a little bit of an attitude—just like their old man? If you’re feeling like more of a comedian than a punk, try out one of these 31 groan-worthy dad jokes that will still make you LOL.
It hurts because you love them so much
Syda Productions/Shutterstock“This is the price you pay for having a great father. You get the wonder, the joy, the tender moments—and you get the tears at the end, too.” –Harlan Coben, author of Don’t Let Go. Losing a beloved father can feel like losing your whole world, the foundation just falls right out from underneath you, but before you can fall too far, you remember all the ways he would catch you—and you realize he still is.

Bad dancing is what dads do
IndigoLT/Shutterstock“I’m probably the most uncool guy that [my daughters] know—as far as they are concerned anyway—’cause I’m Dad. I mean dads just aren’t cool—especially when I dance! They don’t want me to dance.” –Tim McGraw. Embarrassing your kids as preteens is just payback for all the times they humiliated you at the grocery store (and the library and the restaurant and…).
Well, that explains all the bow ties!
Monkey Business Images/Shutterstock“My father was a very good Boy Scout. He was very skilled with knots, and he showed me how to tie a bow tie.” –Bill Nye, the Science Guy. Nothing says bonding like sharing a hobby with your dad. Whether your dad was into scouting or something else like soccer, painting, hiking, or Legos, chances are he passed on some awesome skills to you.
Only together do we reach our full potential
Jacob Lund/Shutterstock“I feel more and more like ‘myself’ these days. Before becoming a father, I can remember a low-level feeling of somehow not quite being myself.” –B.D. Wong, actor. We often feel like we were born to help shape our children but a smart parent quickly realizes that, just as much, they were born to help shape us. Next, read these hilarious mom quotes that will have you cry-laughing.

FAQ
Why did you choose this URL?
In Hetalia there are segments called “Spain the Boss and Chibi Romano” I took the name for this blog from that!
Why won’t you do romantic rps with anyone under 19 or who is in high school?
I cover this in my rules, but here’s the short version. I’m a 30 year old teacher and to an outside observer carrying on such threads with underage kids could easily be suspect. It wouldn’t be a far jump for someone to decide that I’m carrying out some sort of fantasy with underaged kids, and untrue thought it is, it would be a death knell in my career. Quite frankly, an rp is not worth the possibility of my career coming to a crashing halt. Extreme? Maybe But I think its worth it
What kinds of threads are you/aren’t you open to?
I am open to romantic threads with of-age male muses, provided the mun is 19 or older and out of high school. I am open to family fluff from any muse and any age mun, although if mun doesn’t meet my romantic requirements, then muse can’t be my muse’s husband. I am always open to friendship or enemy or any other type of SFW threads from any age mun or muse.
I am NOT open to any sexual threads. There will always be fade to black moments. I will not write sex scenes, nor read them. As far as other NSFW, it is dependent. Some about of abuse, torture, etc, is alright, although we need to talk about it, set some limits, and properly tag. Rape must never be depicted and must be properly dealt with–never treated lightly or simply as a plot device. Suicide is allowed, but must not be viewed positively. I will not have my muse self-harm because I cannot wrap my head around that at all, and do not want to make light of it on accident. With all of these listed, limits, plotting and tagging needs to be discussed.
Romance between Carmen and Romano is only allowed in AUs where she has not raised him. Other individuals that may or may not be related to her can be discussed, as Hetalia is strange in relationships.
Will you answer asks?
In terms of cosplaying, no. This is not a cosplay ask blog. I won’t cross out the possibility for the future, but at the moment I don’t have time for that. I will answer asks as the muse, but they will be with icons or text only.
Why do you send things on anon?
This is a side blog off of my main blog, so I have to send things on anon. I wouldn’t be able to keep up with my multiple rps accounts if each of them were a separate blog, so sideblogs were the best solution, even if it meant I had to send things on anon.
Do you do follow backs/why haven’t you followed me?
I can’t follow people from a sideblog. It all has to go through my main blog. So just because you didn’t see this blog following you, it doesn’t mean that I’m not following you. However, I do not do follow backs. I have 1000+ followers on the main blog, so I just wouldn’t be able to keep up with all of you. I also like to keep my dash tidy, so I don’t follow personal blogs or ones that are heavily ooc.
If you don’t follow back, does that mean that you don’t want to rp/interact with me or my muse?
Just because I don’t follow you doesn’t mean that I don’t want to interact. It often takes me a while before I go through my followers and figure out which ones I want to follow. And, as I said before, I don’t follow ones that post/reblog a lot of ooc stuff. But I still want to rp with you! So please don’t feel afraid to drop a starter in my box,
Will you rp with multiples of the same muse (ex: two different Romanos) and/or do multiple threads with the same mun/muse?
Yes! I enjoy rping with different muns even if they have the same muse because each interpretation is a little bit different. I also enjoy multiple threads with the same mun and muse because there are lots of interesting situations that can be fun to do!
Are you selective?
No, not really. I will rp with pretty much anyone, including multiple muses, OCs and non-rp blogs. I just need to know some information about OCs and non-rp blogs. For anyone I’m rping with I do like to have a look at the rules page, so ints nice if you have one of those. I will not rp with a mun, nor with someone who is rping a real person.
You didn’t respond to my rp. Did you drop it?
I don’t drop rps on purpose and do try to keep up with them. That being said, things do sometimes slip through the cracks. If it’s been a few days and you’ve seen me responding to other rps, lease feel three to remind me if I seem to have dropped and rp. I don’t mind and in fact appreciate it!
You haven’t rped in while. Have you forgotten this blog?
I will update when I have time an opportunity. I am, fortunately or unfortunately, a pretty busy person, even in the summer time. I am either often busy during the day or cannot find the time to be left alone long enough to write some responses. I’ll get to things as soon as I can.
Do you do crossovers, or rp with OCs?
I am alright with crossovers and OCs. With crossovers it helps if I know something about the fandom. With OCs I prefer for there to be at least some information someone on you blog for me to read about them. But these are more likely to fall flat, so if they do, they do, and its hard to really do anything about that.
Do you speak Spanish?
Not really. I took Spanish in high school, but that was a long time ago. I remember enough to toss in a few words here and there, and to make some Kindergarteners I was teaching one year wonder if I could understand them better then they thought I could, but no where near enough to say that I speak Spanish!

Aloha from Heaven!
First of all, I want to mention that I was very undetermined about the suitable title for this post. At the very beginning of my Erasmus I was making summary of my time in Spain in period of one week. Now I want to summarize last 6 weeks in one post. And maybe with translation to Slovak language again :P  So,  I hope this won’t dissuade you of going on reading. (Thanks God I wrote a post about trip to Sevilla separately, so I am not going to make throwback of it). If you haven’t cought it yet, click on this outstanding-named post: Sevilla, Spain :D
As I wrote in the last post, Spain started to change me into update version of myself :P I feel more relaxed, more determined and more lazy at the same time #vidaespanola. Everything takes me a lot of energy to get into regular schedule and work efficiently. Most of the time I had feeling that I should do more and spend time more meaningfully because Erasmus is only once in your lifetime. And it was the best decision I have ever made. So, that was the reason I changed my attitude from #IhateMonday into #MotivationMonday and I started to set goals for a whole week forward. And I think it works. Somehow.

One big positive thing that I have learnt in Spain is think positive. Or, I am still working on it. My friends think that I smile more often than I used to. Also I feel more balanced and able to appreciate details and just be happy in most of the time. What I love about Spanish people  when I ask them ‘Hola, ¿Que tal?/ Hello, How are you?’ they always respond ‘I am fine./ Estoy bien!’ Siempre están bien. I knew their economical situation (unemployment) was not that fine so I asked them if they are really fine. And they responded me they were REALLY FINE.
‘Hey man, look around the world. We live in the most developed continent, we have access to almost everything. We have healthcare for free. We don’t have starve. Maybe we don’t earn huge money in our jobs but we have each other. And we live the moment. We love our country.’ Exactly, this is why I love Spain too.

When I decided to study in Málaga, I had known nothing about that city before. Neither it’s a birthplace of this famous señor. And I couldn’t believe I would meet him every single day of my Erasmus. Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce Maestro Pablo Ruiz Picasso (1881-1973). Famous Spanish painter and sculptor who spent most of his adult life in France. Regarded as one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th Century, he is known for co-founding the Cubist movement. Among his most famous works are Les Demoiselles d’Avignon (1907), and Guernica (1937)🙈
Going home from school has never been so educational. Find an ancient Teatro Romano de Málaga built in 1AC which is open to public for free is something admirable that assured me this world not that decadent as I thought it was. 😇🇪🇸 ✈ El Teatro Romano de Málaga is one of living symbols of Roman Hispania in Andalucía. Constructed in era of Augustus in 1st Century After Christ, maintained its role until 3rd Century. Its material, stones and pillars served as fundamentals in rising up the Alcazaba (the castle of Arabic Empire in Andalucía).

Founded in 1971, El Pimpi is located in an old mansion from the 18th century and is one of the most beautiful wineries in Malaga, where it is possible to enjoy the local gastronomy and the wines of Spain, above all, the tradition and culture of southern Spain. Its name refers to the figure of the “Pimpi”, a popular figure of Malaga who helped the crews and passengers of the ships that arrived at the port to the city. Soon they became the first guides of Malaga for everyone, famous for their attention and treatment. El Pimpi was passed by generations of personalities from the world of flamenco, politics and art: the Picasso family, Carmen Thyssen, La Repompa, Antonio Banderas, the Duchess of Alba, among others. 🍷 Gracias a mi hermano Miguel Rosa por enseñármelo!

💚 28 of February- The Day of Andalucía (Día de Andalucía) marks the anniversary of a referendum held on February 28, 1980. A large majority of voters supported this referendum for Andalucía to become an autonomous community in Spain. However, the Spanish Parliament only accepted Andalucía as an historic nationality in 2006.
And my favourite month finally came. And now it’s over :D So, let’s make look to my throwback of Marzo 2017.
The first reason why I love March is that the winter finishes (althought winter 2016 was unusually long and cold in Spain). And I gave this whole-hearted welcome to warmer days quite soon. I wouldn’t say the weather in Málaga will be so #centralEurope until the end of March :(
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
The second reason why I love March is that I love my birthday parties (and b-day presents, jajaja). This year was a speacial one. I got the most valuable gifts I could ever wish. One of them you maybe found in this picture. Once again, I want to thank to all of my friends who made my day special and unforgettable again. I appreciate all your messages, calls, videos. I realised that living in beloved Spain is not enough for me. I miss my friends everyday so much! Especially the best ones Who made this surprise for me which arrived directly to me in Málaga. 🎁 I feel determined to be in touch with you more frequently and work on my Better Me

And that was the turning point to start with making my ideas real. I introduced my new project of teaching English. I finally signed up to gym and made a schedule of my training. Aaaand lot of more :) Stay tuned in April 2017!
