disneyland happenings

featuring varian and hugo. since thats what our costumes were

we went to this thing called villain's grove which was a bunch of light and effects n stuff through their little forest area. it was mostly a cool immersive experience so most of the footage is on the Lights And Effects Themselves but here's a few of us that look cool lol. gay tunnel (maybe not) (that segment was themed after frollo)

met hans from frozen. we absolutely had no clue he was going to be there it was pretty funny. you may guess that my friend @kristoffs-lullaby (varian cosplayer) is a frozen enjoyer. so we hopped in line to see him

hans asked if varian's alchemy balls were some sort of magic or enchantment and you'll Never guess what varian responded with

though explaining its alchemy and science and all that didnt really make him feel better. he even asked if its something that would be in danger of bringing in an "eternal winter". varian did not like that :)

saw dr. doofenshmirtz (?) i didnt watch that show. he was pretty fun to meet though. i know some people dont like his creepy ass design, but i do, its fun and weird to me. he wanted to collaborate with me and varian since we're scientists. really funny to have him say "i'll have my people call your people". a possible strange message that rapunzel will get later /j

also encountered hades. though our friend @iammisswow was with us and so i had him focus on her since shes a big hercules fan. the visual was hugo getting this scary man's attention to be put on someone else by calling her out. it worked obviously. "oh SHE is a HUGE fan of hercules"

madam mim from sword in the stone didnt really have as big of a crowd so we actually talked with her a pretty good amount. shes SO fun. lots of discussion about magic vs science and how she thinks knowledge is stupid. you can imagine how we of all people felt when she said "KNOWLEDGE is not power, MAGIC is power". she also liked olivia (she thought she was a familiar)

meeting judge doom from roger rabbit was kind of scary LOL. very intimidating man. but his area had vats of chemicals and all that so you can imagine we had fun with that. WE can be trusted. obviously.

nervously just nodding our heads as judge doom tells us to come to him if we have any information regarding where "that rabbit is" (we are not doing that)

and also we saw ernesto de la cruz from coco. we were actually able to catch him right as he started performing which is rad but i dont actually have any interactions to tell u about here it was bad ass though

and, unbeknownst to Hugo (as in i also didnt know about this), varian had a surprise for him. he had a whole... horribly genuine and flustery spiel to say about messing around in his lab and all that and made something for hugo. which was a necklace with a piece of colored glass-like material (teal) in the shape of a heart. hugo handled that whole situation really well (lie)

ANYWAYS ! that's it. i've mentioned before but Disneyland Trips will be retired really soon since I'm not too fond of a lot of their wack shit right now, but wanted to share some of the last bit of enjoyable times to be had there before that happens

first of all sorry for replying late but i was sleeping and then i had to go to the BANK but anyway i have compiled a little list of books i loved that are under 200 pages. there are lots of classics that are shorter and i've included them even though i think some of those would be stuff that you or him might have already read!

contemporary fiction

open water by caleb azumah nelson: THIS IS SUCH A GREAT ONE that i can't imagine anyone not enjoying. truly. it's a love story between two black young british people but it's far from a tiktok romance novel. it explores themes of race and masculinity and vulnerability and it's soft but also very real and it's wonderful. honestly if i had to only recommend one it would be this!

small things like these by claire keegan: very good and quietly hopeful story of a man in a little irish town at christmas. everybody was talking about this book last year and with good reason, it's great.

whereabouts by jhumpa lahiri: the story of a woman in the town she lives in and how it can change in a year. this is an introspective one but jhumpa lahiri is a genius so it reads very easily and it's so wonderfully written.

interpreter of maladies by jhumpa lahiri: short stories, mainly dealing with indian characters in the US. they feel absolutely universal while teaching something about culture and belonging. won the pulitzer in 1999.

how not to drown in a glass of water by angie cruz: a woman narrates the story of her life to her counselor who's trying to find her a job. it's funny and hopeful and memorable. the author is so great (she wrote another one called dominicana that is a masterpiece although is longer!)

kim jiyoung, born 1982 by cho nam-joo: the story of a new mum living in korea that explores the estrangement of being a woman and having to give up so much. it's definitely more serious but it's written very well and it doesn't feel heavy at all.

swimming in the dark by tomasz jedrowski: this one is incredible. it's the story of a polish university student who falls in love with another man in the 1980s in an obviously very repressive society. so he's in love but he wants protest and he can't ignore the struggles and the disparity around him. it's very political but also lyrical and tender.

someone who will love you in all your damaged glory by raphael bob-waksberg: okay this breaks 200 pages at 256 pages long. but it's so good. everybody would love this. it's by the creator of bojack horseman if that can be an incentive somehow. it's a collection of stories that are so unconventional and bizarre in the most incredible way. they are funny stories and sweet and absurd and sad. i really loved reading this book.

infinite country by patricia engel: the story of a colombian family dealing with deportation. it's from the pov of elena who is the eldest daughter. it's a beautiful book that deals with very real struggles and it does it beautifully.

classics

recitatif by toni morrison: very short story (about 20 pages) but so clever and so well written of course. it's the story of two women who have known each other since they were children. they lose touch and then they reconnect when they're older. one of them is white and one of them is black, but the author never tells you which is which. so it's a great story about race.

the cossacks by leo tolstoy: the story of a man who loses his fortune and retires to a cossack village. it's very russian... but it's very well written and definitely explores some of the themes that tolstoy will then explore in war and peace like the purpose of life and war and his love of nature.

white nights by fyodor dostoevsky: again very russian. but less than 100 pages long! it's the story of a young man living in st petersburg who one day meets a girl and they become fast friends. they both feel like outcasts, so together they feel like they can belong. it is actually great.

giovanni's room by james baldwin: lots of baldwin's books (both his fiction and non-fiction) are short ones actually. this one is the story of a man in paris who, while waiting for his girlfriend to get there, falls in love with a man. it's an incredible story dense with love and passion and shame and it is wonderful.

the old man and the sea by hemingway: old man tries to catch big fish after not being able to catch any fish for a long time. but also so much more than that and nobody made me read this in school so i only read it at 25 and it blew me away. everybody told me it would be so sad but i think it's actually hopeful and a little bit it is a story about community? and it tells you that there's people waiting for you to come back.

of mice and men by steinbeck: again i read it in my mid twenties and loved it. it's a gut punch. it's about two men clinging together as laborers in california. it deals with what it means to feel powerless in a tyrant world.

franny and zooey by salinger: one of the best books ever i think. franny and zooey are brother and sister and they are two young people experiencing existential doubts. it's a book about family and about growing into adults and about the alienation that comes with that. salinger knows how to write young people in a crisis so well and how to make it engaging and entertaining.

having compiled this list i now see that my tastes definitely are oriented in a certain way but i hope at least one of these can work for your friend. i tried to include all the shorter books that i have read and loved and i think that generally anyone could enjoy them, but you never know!

- Even Surgeon cannot tell if that's Kiara who happend to be ghost or this Kiara - Twisted Timeline! Kiara is confused when Surgeon said it.

- If she meets her Ghost self, she'll definitely having existential crisis (You see the cinematic scene in their official channel, she cannot believe that's her if she's alive)

- Second hand embarrassment would be: when she found out others couldn't dance well or have strong vibes to have rhythm.

Amari Taymiyyah

- That would be him activating his Vagrant's Trick only he's a target of Ye-Jun's obsessive perk - "What the?--- I'm not dude with blue hair!"    (His quotes are unavailable so I'm not so sure if he interacts with other survivors including Emery if he heals yipee magician)

- Would switch attire with Emery to tomfoolery killer. - If plan backfires, he'll chuckle awkwardly

- Everytime he tries to be sneaky and hide away (Ey no way-) from the killer only he becomes a target of some killers who have unique detect mechanism. - "If only that guy with black suit didn't regress my abilities."

- If it's Void, he'll puke and immediately grossed out with her especially bloody stuff on them. - Whenever he works the gen only he run away then Void kicks which he shudders in gross when the blood goo sticks in gen.

Elijah

- His stun isn't ready in the beginning of round only he gets downed immediately when killer open without activating it. - Jack would scold him for that

- But then his height would scare people who's shorter than him, he'll be thinking "Wait, am I this scary?" In genuine confusion.

- He forgets the timing of his locker and run only he gets downed by killer. - Of course other survivors will get confused except for killers.

Becca Prescott - Since mist didn't age (I'm starting to think, she was born in 1970s while Gavin is younger than her only she went missing when mist teleported her in 1988), others would've assume she's the younger sister while Gavin is older.

- Of course the Prescott siblings would've clarify things only it went backfire quickly.

- Parker would've taken notes along with Ryder only the two have boomer jokes to both Becca and Gavin.

- Ryder make snarky remarks with dad jokes (Sorry bout that 😭��😭) to Becca.

Okay so I barely practiced and made it to regionals like once so im NOT the expert here but uh headcanoning that Jess did air rifle when she was a teen. Like idk if it would be as part of a team like with a high school (what I'm familiar with) vs like an individual thing vs like a travel/competitive team (it depends on the sitch in her area growing up) but she definitely went to some national matches (probably including JOs/JO quals like i think she was GOOD). I think she probably would have quit competitively following a bad shot at nationals (relatable) along with anxiety about competition (ALSO relatable) but still kept up with shooting casually for fun and relaxation and to hang out with friends etc.

She definitely would have shot smallbore competitively too but I never did that bc I was lazy so idk to much abt it competitively

also since we're here n im not gonna make a whole post for it the ending wassss. fine. its okay ig....... it definitely doesnt hit like the book at all, at any point but eap the ending. like theyre Gone and then jeff is like hey ur soda! ZERO callback to the pizzeria at all like it has the exact opposite affect as the book. n like, the entire thing is like this lol. the dialogue flow sucks, the visuals r so unrefined i can recall every mistake in coloring etc in my head rn(and every single one is on the rabbit lmao💀) n the panelling even is so. :/ eugh

it wouldnt even be that bad to me if it was just one or two of these, like i could be more forgiving to the art if the dialogue actually gripped me. and i could forgive the dialogue if the art did more of the legwork for storytelling but together it just makes for a very very sadly bad comic.

this is the main issue w the comic to me, the dialogue doesnt grip me but the artwork also is too timid to take charge and lead the story either. they dont really work together or individually to the benefit of eachother.

i dont want to make it seem like i dont appreciate the work that was done here tho, Didi Esmeralda and Eva De La Cruz did a excellent job for what it was. comics arent easy by any means, and even if its not to my tastes i do not want to knock the work they did, literally everything except the rabbit was decent i think this is just another case of non furry artists drawing for furry franchises ejekndjndjdjd

Summer has been genuinely so fun for me like I went out alot yk like I WENT TO SANTA CRUZ, JAPAN TOWN with my friends, i loved santa cruz.. im a beach girl at heart. I played in the pool with my friends, went to this one party. IVE BEEN BUSY… I LOOOVE SUMMER bro this has been so fun for me. but junior years coming up and I actually NEED TO REALLY LOCK IN Id hope junior year wouldnt be tooooo bad but im definitely not expecting something easy. I also need to start figuring out what Im gonna be doing after highschool. Im thinking of taking a gap year but hmm… I was planning to take the whole art career but considering the pay nd stuff im not sure if it would be the most financially stable career for me. Im gonna be taking a few ap classes to give myself some college credit…. Ap gov for senior year to see my cutie history teacher again 🤤🤤. And like maybe I’ll figure out what I can do with that… i rlly shouldve locked in when HIGHSCHOOL started tbh. Kinda mad at myself for that, like I was so sure I could just take the art path

Player squinted at his phone, double checking that the address was right. He ignored that this was the fifth time he'd done this, and that it was most definitely the right address. 

After all, it was probably best to make sure that the orphanage where your best friend found their mother was the right one, since, y’know…it’d be kind of awkward to just go up to a random lady and be like, “Hey, I know your daughter” and have her not know which one you were talking about. 

He took a deep breath and smoothed his hair anxiously, still not ready to even ring the bell. He was possibly about to meet Carmen’s mom for the first time in the at least ten years he’d known Carmen, sue him. 

A couple of kids in the yard looked at him weird. Player did his best to ignore them, still extremely nervous.

Finally, his shaking fingers rose to ring the doorbell. The sudden ding! of the doorbell sound made him wince.

A pretty woman with hair the color of the red-brown soil appeared at the doorway, her eyes crinkled. 

“Hello. Who are you?” she asked.

Player fumbled for a second, then replied, “Uh, my name’s—---but you can call me Player. I’m…a friend of Carmen?”

“Oh! You must be the boy she talks about in her stories, then? How do you know her?” Carmen’s mother asked. While she seemed perfectly friendly, Player noticed the slightly hostile undertones in her voice. He approved. That wariness had probably kept her and Carmen safe when Carmen retired for a bit.

“We’re old friends. From her school days. Uh, but, I’m not part of VILE. Sorry,” Player said, automatically using his usual excuse before realizing that it would likely not go over well with whatever Carmen had told her mom.

Before either of them could say anything more, Carmen appeared behind her mother. 

“Player!” she exclaimed, seemingly excited to see her old friend. Player put out a fist and the two fist-bumped. 

“Didn’t expect to see you here, Red,” Player joked, and Carmen winked.

“Decided to go on vacation for a bit. You caught me a couple days before I was going to go meet Julia at her college, actually!” Julia had worked at ACME for a few more years before deciding that the siblings had it under control. Chief told her to do whatever made her happy, so she went back to being a professor. She was somewhat of an Oracle, helping out with cases from behind the screen.

“Come in, it’ll be better than standing out here,” Carmen urged, and Player smiled, stepping into the home that his best friend had found.

i am always up for plotting and starting threads, so don't be afraid to just slip into my IM's if there is a plot that you would like to try between our muses. my writing style is extremely flexible and will adapt to that of the writing partner. replies can get lengthy, especially when it comes to plotted things, but matching length is never mandatory. as long as there is something that i can reply to, i'm good.

I might be in the minority here, but I'm actually glad that Stellaride aren't in the finale synopsis. From what Andrea has teased, they definitely have a storyline in ep 13 snd thats enough for me right now. But I think the reason they haven't put anything in the synopsis is so they don't spoil whatever it is, and for once I actually don't mind not knowing what's coming up next for them.

Also, I'm sure we'll get more teases as the finale gets closer. They tend to do a lot of press in the week before, so I'm just gonna wait and see what happens 🙂

And yes, I'm ignoring the Damon is Kelly's soon theories. That makes zero sense and I think the writers know better than this

i’m not mad that stellaride weren’t in the promo tbh. i’m more mad that carver and damon were, if that makes sense. damon is brand new and carver is still pretty new. i wanted violet, cruz, ritter, or herrmann to have a storyline. granted i understand that they still may have a storyline. i just don’t like that it probably won’t be a main storyline, because the main storyline is going to the two newest guys. but chances are they won’t get any storyline and that’s what im annoyed about.

also, they could’ve just made a better synopsis in general. cause even boden and mouch’s part sound underwhelming for what’s supposed to be the season finale. a more exciting synopsis would’ve been better in my opinion.

i want to say the writers know better then making damon kelly’s son but tbh do they? they done some pretty dumb things in the past.
