If we're talking about Peterick-coded songs: I don't know if this one is as overt, but "Heaven's Gate" has always reminded me of the tweet Pete wrote a long time ago, that when the Mothership comes to get him, he hopes Patrick is behind the wheel. And the "Save Rock And Roll" video, when Patrick walks into Elton John heaven, and of course Pete is the first person he sees waiting for him. Not to mention, how Pete generally just thinks Patrick represents everything good and perfect in the world. It's just such a gorgeous love song, and I really hope we get to hear it live someday!
YES. Also, the way Pete and Patrick hug in Elton John Heaven is, like, I may have watched just that bit a lot of times lol, Pete just looks so happy when Patrick pulls him into the hug. (It's here, if you want to see it: https://youtu.be/9cnBxSB1jUE?t=149)
It also makes me think about how Patrick is his "golden ticket," like, he's his way to get in.
"You're the one habit I just can't kick," is like: You're the one person I keep going back to again and again. I'm a missile guided to you (and maybe I blow your life up a little bit, but it's okay, we start over again and again). "I've got dreams of your own, but I want to make yours come true," like, the fact that Pete has lived his entire life being happy for everyone to finally recognize how awesome Patrick is.
Patrick would DEFINITELY sneak him a wristband. No question.

Hi Renee! It's nice ask week! You make such gorgeous gif sets - what's the one that your the proudest of making?
rae! thank you so much for sending this!
this is difficult to answer! and it makes me realize that I'm proud of gifs for different reasons, so I'm going to give a few answers. I hope that's okay!
when it comes to level of skill, I'm proud of this Nick/Charlie and Fearless (Taylor's Version) set that uses the cassette tape animation. this one took some time, not just because of the animation, but because of figuring out the lyrics and which scenes to choose that would work with the yellow color scheme I wanted to use. the second to last gif in this set gave me the hardest time with that, but I really like how the entire thing turned out!
when it comes to layout and scene selection, I'm really proud of how my Olivia Rodrigo GUTS set turned out. this is another one where planning was key. I knew I wanted to include all the songs and that I wanted to work with the music videos that we had from GUTS, which meant I was just working with vampire and bad idea, right? I'm still surprised I managed to pick 13 different moments from 2 videos that all make sense with the songs I paired them with. I also really like how I ended up alternating the coloring for this set! that was actually born out of me getting frustrated with the coloring for some scenes and not wanting to deal with it lol. so I made them black and white or purple instead.
when it comes to sets I just had fun making, this set for Alex to all american bitch is one I'm proud of! I got the idea for this one after Casey posted on insta stories that this song was for Alex. this set went through a few different iterations in my head, in particular when it came to how to split up the lyrics and how many gifs it would be in total. there were versions where it was 6 or 7 gifs but I ended up with 9 by splitting up "I"m a perfect all american bitch/with perfect all american lips/and perfect all american hips." I loved working with the bi colors and it was so satisfying when the overlays worked out! that's something I don't plan in advance. I just hope the scenes I want work out, and they did for the most part!
and I'll end with two of my most recent sets: the David/Patrick relationship dynamic set and my Dan and Phil Games set. I'm just generally proud of how they turned out, but as I was making them, I was also reminded of how much I love this show and this gaming channel, and I'm so happy I get to make gifs of them!

Thoughts, both positive and bitchy, on the Manics/Suede show in Chicago tonight.
I knew the Manics (and Suede) weren’t very well known in the US but I was definitely expecting the Chicago venue to be more full than it was. But it was so empty! I’m cheap so I bought a mezzanine/dress circle ticket since it was only $80 compared to the $150 or whatever for the pit area. There were only 6 people including me in the entire row I was sat in. It definitely seemed like most people were at this gig for Suede rather than for the Manics; the crowd was far more responsive for Suede.
The decision they’ve been making recently to start the set with You Stole The Sun From My Heart is a weird, interesting one. It sort of makes sense, the song is bouncy and energetic, and lyrically/sound-wise it sort of sits right smack in the middle of all the different sounds and styles they’ve had. But it’s still an odd song to start off with because it’s not one of their more popular ones. When I last saw them in 2018 they opened both shows (London and Cardiff) with International Blue. It definitely took them a second to get into the groove, You Stole The Sun and Everything Must Go were their first two songs and they seemed like they were trying to suss out their energy. But they played La Tristessa Durera next and I really started moving to that one because I loooove GATS. Two of the Suede fans sat in front of me kinda laughed when I suddenly started dancing more than I was before. La Tristessa Durera is one of my favorite Manics songs (at least in part because of this video where you can really hear just how much of a fucking metronome of badassery Sean Moore is.)
I’m not really a fan of Wayne Murray’s backing vocals, to be honest. His voice and JDB’s don’t really mesh and a lot of times his vocals are a little off and it makes it very distracting. It was less noticeable in 2018, but here in this tiny gig I definitely noticed it. I’d rather just listen to JDB with no backing tbh.
They had a fog machine which was very cool and much more effective in this little venue than when I saw them at Wembley and Cardiff. There were points when James was engulfed in or aura’ed by colored fog right at the right time during a song which I thought was just great as a visual.
Ocean Spray was just so beautiful. I like that song on the album but as a live song it’s absolutely gorgeous and I loved it. The album version just ends on the normal tempo into a held chord, but live they slowed to that held chord in this really grim but beautiful way and knowing what the song is about just made the decision to end it that way such a good one, even if it is really sad.
Motorcycle Emptiness was dedicated to Nicky’s brother Patrick who is apparently laid up because he “fucked his leg,” and who lived in Chicago in the 90s. JDB did this awesome ascending “Yeah!” vocal riff after “All we want from you are the kicks you’ve given us.” Also he activated his twirly guitar spins for Motorcycle Emptiness.
I had this moment while they were playing and I was staring up at the green lights reflected on the ceiling where I was thinking about the lyrics to Motorcycle Emptiness and how relevant they are now, even more than they were in the 90s when it was written. Computers didn’t yet exist in the pocket-sized ubiquitous state as we know them now, Amazon didn’t exist yet, all the different ways for corporations and institutions to use the internet in order to mess with people’s self esteems or body image or political opinions or sense of right and wrong or ability to think critically or whatever, none of that existed yet. Yes, it existed as a concept but not put to such immediate effect as it is online. I said it before, in a different post a while ago, but I’m glad Richey didn’t live to see the internet era. I think it would have been awful for him both in terms of his mental health and in terms of his disgust or frustration with humanity’s ability for independent critical thinking.
They played Suicide Is Painless and Slash N Burn which were both good but nothing amazing. I did notice that JDB now tends to go down vocally when the original music goes up, or to sort of sing-speak the tune rather than do all the high parts. I’m not sure if that’s a permanent new thing (fair, it starts getting harder to go higher as you get older) or if his vocal chords needed a rest tonight.
Tolerate was really good; Nicky had his bass balanced on his head at the end for some reason? International Blue is just a great live song. It really fills up the room. They played The Everlasting, which has always just sort of been a meh song for me, but it sounded better live than it does on the album, so maybe it’s one of those songs that needs to have open space rather than headphones to really do well. I feel the same about YLAINE. I’m very aware that I’ve got Unpopular Manics Opinions and my dislike of YLAINE makes me a blasphemer as a ‘manixfan’ but I just don’t care about YLAINE. However, it’s very fun live (even with Wayne singing Nina Persson’s parts).
Nicky dedicated From Despair To Where to “the severe beauty and intellect of Richey Edwards.” He also told a Fun Fact about how the music video for Roses In The Hospital was filmed in Chicago in 1993, and they had to get James up at 5 in the morning so they could catch the morning sun while filming, and he was not happy about it. I love like every song from GATS because apparently I am determined to be contrarian to everything most Manics fans like (except not really because THB is my actual favorite) so I was really happy to hear it and it sounded great.
They’ve been covering She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult on this tour but they didn’t tonight and that was so disappointing because I absolutely adore that song and I have it as one of my alarm clock songs. They didn’t do any covers tonight, and looking at setlists from the rest of this tour it looks like they did Despair To Where instead of a cover. Walk Me To The Bridge sounded great and is another one of those songs that showcases how much of a metronome Sean is. JDB’s twirls returned during Walk Me To The Bridge too.
You Love Us was the second to last song and it was so funny to hear just how much faster and more punk it was than anything else they played tonight. Even Slash N Burn was slower, I think. And Motorcycle Emptiness has a complicated solo but it’s not actually fast. The audience was definitely more of a Suede audience because You Love Us tends to get quite a bit more reaction than it did tonight.
The last song was, as usual, A Design For Life. It sounded great, and at one point after the first “to show the scars / from where I came” line, both James and Nicky twirled toward each other, James spinning clockwise and Nicky spinning anticlockwise, which might have been planned but didn’t look it, but it did look very cool. During the middle eight Nicky said “From snowy Chicago to [something I didn’t catch] Wales, do not gently into that good night, do not go gently into that good night.”
It was an odd show for me. I had the good fortune that my first ever two live Manics shows were for the 2018 tour at Wembley Arena and their final homecoming show at Cardiff Motorpoint, which means that it was populated by a really enthusiastic audience, and I was on the barrier, and Nicky Wire wore a skirt for both gigs and sang a Sex Pistols song at Cardiff. So it was like the two very opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of gigs. London and Cardiff were massively enthusiastic (minus one small setback in Cardiff that affected only me and the people I was with in which some drunk motherfucker pissed on my friend because he didn’t want to leave the barrier and I was fully ready to fight him) and had loads of energy and there was like a feeling of “we are all extremely passionate about this one thing.” This Chicago show was much more subdued. Part of that is probably because it was seated (which is just bizarre to me, I can’t understand seated rock music gigs) but also probably because there were more Suede fans, and maybe some people there to see any show who didn’t really know either band.
I’m glad they didn’t play any songs from the new album because I hated the new album, but I do wish there was some more non-greatest hits. All the songs I’d kill to see live (Anorexic Rodin, Red Rubber, Intravenous Agnostic, To Repel Ghosts, Judge Yr’self) they’ll never ever do live, but I do wish they’d do a few underplayed songs just for the hardcore fans, because they must know that you have to be pretty dedicated to be an American Manics fan.
The woman sitting next to me had never seen either band and had been waiting like 20 years to see them, so she was super excited, which was very cool to see! She and I were talking about how we bought up tickets really fast because we both assumed they’d sell out from US fans who had been waiting for ages to see them, and then we were surprised when it was so empty. It makes me wish they’d chosen a slightly smaller venue, which would have been more intimate and maybe also drummed up more energy.
I don’t know Suede’s music very well. Dog Man Star is the only album I know all the songs off of, and I know a lot of their self-titled album and then some other random songs. But they’re absolutely fantastic live even without knowing their complete discography. Brett Anderson is dramatic as hell. They were having minor technical problems from the start, some feedback that got fixed and then some other something that I couldn’t identify because I didn’t know the songs well enough to know what they were or weren’t supposed to sound like.
But Brett put on a hell of a show, strutting and prowling around the stage and walking through the audience and variously getting down on his knees to hold his mic up all dramatically. It’s hilarious to watch a man in his mid-fifties stalking sharply round the stage on all fours but also I loved it and I think I’m a Suede fan now. He did The Wild Ones (my favorite out of the few songs I know) acoustically, and I’m not sure if this was just him being dramatic in a way that’s Normal for him, or if something was up, but he played like the first verse and half the chorus with the guitar, and then stopped and put his head down, and then dramatically did most of the rest of the song a capella, before playing the last few lines with the guitar again, repeating the “running with the dogs today” line a few extra times. I genuinely felt like I was watching a Hamlet soliloquy, it was great. I think maybe I watched a Shakespeare play as a rock concert.
It did make me think about the Manics vs Suede in terms of audience engagement. Somebody I was talking to on twitter said they don’t think the Manics know what to do with American audiences when those audiences are in this middle range of size, because when it comes to American Manics fans the majority are hardcore fans who would rather hear some of the less well known but very beloved by the dedicated fans songs rather than get drunk and hear the greatest hits. I think if they’d played venues the size of the ones they played when they were here in 2014, or just a little bigger rather than ones the size of this show (like 1k capacity rather than 3k capacity venue) it would have been so much better. And they haven’t really been a “be dramatic and dynamic and engage with the fans onstage” sort of band since about 1998, which means that if the majority of the audience don’t know their work very well, they’ve got nothing much to react to visually or “interpersonally” and therefore aren’t going to be super enthusiastically responsive. Playing and trusting there will be engagement based on merit and fan culture only is certainly successful in the UK and probably Europe, but it’s definitely different here. It seemed like a lot of the audience didn’t know the songs well enough to respond to them and since the Manics don’t do things like get in the audience or crawl around on the floor or go into over the top monitor-stomping, there’s not a lot to grab onto visually that will hook a non-fan at a live show. Meanwhile I’m casually familiar with the Dog Man Star album and vaguely know a few other Suede hits off their other early albums, but I could only name 3 of the songs I heard tonight (The Wild Ones, The Drowners, We Are The Pigs) and yet I was having so much fun watching Brett just be chaotic and theatrical, swaggering all over the stage and dropping dramatically to his knees and such. It’s definitely just style differences in general, and I’m sure they don’t expect to gain much from this tour, but I did find it an interesting observation in the moment.

💘 — what and / or who do you consider near and dear to you? obviously , at the top of my list , there's my family , composed of my mother , father and younger sibling .   also high up there is my girlfriend , carmen , who was also one of my first partners on here funnily enough .   these four , alongside my best friend , are the people i consider the closest and dearest to me .   in terms of objects , i'd have to answer books and tea , if only because i love both and they play an instrumental part in my daily life .   i would also consider my job to be something near and dear to me , if only because i'm lucky enough that i get to do something everyday that makes me happy .
✈️ — ever traveled anywhere interesting ? there are two places i consider to be the most interesting .   the first is sidney by the sea , a small town on the island of vancouver in western canada .   sidney by the sea is the country's sole booktown , and i had the privilege to spend an afternoon roaming through all of the various bookstores before watching the sun set in the sea at the nearby beach .   it's a wonderful place , if you can afford to go .   the other interesting place i've traveled to is lebanon .   i might be biased since i'm lebanese on my father's side , but i genuinely think the entire country is gorgeous and worth visiting , and i miss going there , although it's harder to visit now that my grandparents have both passed away .   i also sometimes joke with my family that lebanon is the only place in the world where you can choose to go ski in the morning and go to the beach in the evening .
🎮 — favorite video game(s) ? bloodborne is my favorite game ever , but other games i enjoy include the soulsborne series , identity v , the dishonored series , celeste and the house in fata morgana .   i also want to try splatoon , in spite of being bad at shooters , lol .
🖊 — any tattoos ? unfortunately , no , since i'm scared of needles .   i was toying with the idea of getting the scarlet wing's flower or the red butterfly from mia goodwin's tomboy down the line , but since i'm approaching my thirties , i'm debating on whether or not i should since i am starting to consider myself too old for tattoos .
🍰 — favorite sweet(s)/dessert(s) ? i'm fond of french pastries , mostly st. honoré cakes and religieuses , as well as more traditional lebanese sweets like qatayef and kadaif .   i also like strawberry shortcakes and mochis , as well as most gummies , peach rings especially .
🐶 — any pets ? none unfortunately , although i'd like to have one in the future once my girlfriend and i move in together .   i'd like to have a cat , but my sibling's allergic , so maybe a dog .
📕 — favorite book/series ? there are too many to enumerate , but some of my favorites include paradise rot by jenny hval , my sister the serial killer by oyinkan braithwaite , drive your plow over the bones of the dead by olga tokarczuk , her body and other parts by carmen maria machado , all's well by mona awad and nous , anastasia r. by patrice ordas and patrick cothias  ( which is available in french only )  .   in terms of series , i'm quite fond of the radiant emperor series by shelley parker-chan , the burning kingdom series by tasha suri and the magic of the lost series by c.l. clark .   books i'm looking forward to are silver nitrate by silvia moreno-garcia  ( which will include lebanese-mexican rep !! )  and a study in drowning by ava reid  ( my latest hyperfixation ) .
😗 — what are some of your favorite things to do when you have some time to yourself ? read and drink tea .   i also enjoy listening to music on my phone , although i am lucky enough to own a couple of cds by some of my favorite artists .   walking and exploring the nearby city is also something i enjoy doing by myself , alongside visiting bookstores or the national library .

💯 — share three random facts about yourself that your mutuals may not know about you. 1. my favorite flowers are lilac , hortensia and lavender .   2. i work as a teacher specialized in teaching immigrant kids and teens .   3 . my copy of a river through time  ( the first guinevere jones book by random house australia )   is signed by tamara hope , who played gwen in the show .

(from yesterday)
Christmas is coming. Who are you buying gifts for? Sigh, whoever I have money for. Priorities would be my mom, boyfriend, sisters, dad, and my two immediate nieces and nephew. When somebody intimidates you, how do you usually act around them? I avoid them the best I can or entirely leave the situation if at all possible. Is your favorite singer in a band or does he or she ride solo? My favorite vocalist of all time was Freddie Mercury, and he was the head of Queen. I also really enjoy the sound of Patrick Stump's voice in Fall Out Boy, and Brendon Urie from P!atD. Did your parents ever hang your old artwork up on the walls? Mom still does that, lol. She's kept some of my work in the living room. Should guys always kiss the girl on a first date? Ew, I hate this question. Which band has the corniest music videos? Corniest lyrics? Well, Ninja Sex Party literally HAS to have corny and dumb music videos or it ain't them, lmao. Corniest lyrics, uhhhh... I dunno, honestly. Have any songs ever inspired you to play an instrument? I wouldn't say that, no, but I definitely wanted to learn to play electric guitar so I could play some favorites. What is the weirdest animal you’ve ever seen as a pet? I... don't know? Nothing very strange, honestly. Well I mean I've met a person with a pot-bellied pig, but I still don't think that's super out there. What was your favorite computer game as a kid? Oh, yeesh. One that very strongly stands out is The Amazon Trail 3 or something like that; I was very interested in the fishing and getting photographs and all that. I was also really into Putt-Putt and Freddi Fish games, Oregon Trail, and I Spy: Spooky Mansion was cocaine. I do remember I had a couple of hunting games, and then there's one fucking more BIG series of kids games that I can't remember for anything, apparently; you were preparing a birthday party for your friend that was a... lion? I think?? Idk point is I loved it as well as just computer games in general. Have you ever tried on your mom’s wedding ring? No. What is your opinion on fruitcake? Disgusting. Do you know anyone who has a pet bunny? I don't believe so, at least not currently. My sister Misty went through a rabbit-obsessed phase and she even had a BEAUTIFUL velvet black one she named Cinderella. I think a lot how I'll never be as pretty as this fuckin rabbit lmfao. How do you feel about wolves? Fucking breathtaking. Gorgeous, intelligent, loyal. They are honestly one of those animals where when I look at them, I 120% feel awareness and knowing behind their eyes. They're not just a machine driven by instincts and instincts alone, there's more to those creatures. I would LOOOOOVE to pet a rescued wolf or something, get up close and see just how huge they are. Does the song you’re listening to/last heard evoke any emotion for you? KJAKLSDJAL;EJJWE it's literally about a BDSM-esque relationship with God and divine punishment, all I do is worry about Till when I hear it lmfao. Do you use Pinterest? Ye. Do you have a favorite poem? No. I really should get back into reading poetry... What is your OTP? Your NoTP? We ship Paulchard to the ends of the motherfucking earth in this household alskdjfljLKJ;LKK;;lOW. I can't really say I have a "NoTP" I feel strongly about. Do you like beef jerky? I don't, or at least the ones I've had. They're too dry. Do you prefer ruffly or regular potato chips? Ruffly. My opinion on this is abnormally strong, haha. Favorite fictional world? I am quite, quite positive this heart o' mine will always belong in Azeroth. :') Even though I don't play anymore, WoW and its extreme variety of zones felt like home and a warm hug to me. If applicable, who was the first person you “came out” to? Sara. What’s one thing you’d like to do more? Draw. Do you own a camera tripod? Yes. Have you ever picked out a song to listen to on a juke box? No. Has a Jehovah’s Witness ever showed up on your doorstep? Yes, and I'd like religious folk to explain how it's cool that a Christian can shove their beliefs onto non-religious individuals and that be okay. But GOD FUCKING FORBID it's the other way around. No no no, god forbid if someone simply MENTIONS being irreligious and gives a reason why. WOOOOOOOO I got opinions on this shit. Can you make yourself cry on purpose? Nah. Do you have a retainer glued to the back of your teeth? I do, actually, behind my bottom row, front and center. Please, tell me, you’ve played any kind of Mario game. I've played some, but I gotta be real, they're not my kind of games. I enjoyed Mario Kart quite a bit when we first got one, but it was never a big obsession. NOW, if we're talking like games to play at a party, hell yeah, they're a great option. Do you like Nickelback? Absolutely zero shame, I enjoy Nickelback. I don't get why it's such a "cool thing" to shit on them. What would you do if your first love asked you back out? Say no. Fucking immediately. Probably have an emotional breakdown. Get out of the situation as fast as I can. Which parent do you respect the most? My mom, easily. I love my dad, but still. He's fucked up a hell of a lot. Who do you want with you when you’re scared? MY MOM. I am a fucking baby about this, like when I want my mom, I want my mom. Have you ever seen someone struggle with an addiction? Growing up, my dad was a bad alcoholic. Seeing him with a bottle of beer was a very normal thing, and so was seeing him passed out in the recliner. As a kid, honestly, I didn't realize he was dealing with addiction. I didn't know what was having a normal drink, but I learned. I can't say I clearly saw him fight his alcoholism because he only sobered up after my parents split. Do you play any zombie-killing video games? We stan Resident Evil 'til DEATH. Do you have a pet fish? No, they're not my style of pet. Have you tried the Beyond or Impossible Burger? Thoughts? I did, at least one of them... and I also cannot remember exactly how I felt. Must not've left a strong impression. Have you ever had an aquarium in your house? No, just individual little fish bowls that are literal torture for the poor fish. Are you missing any teeth? No. What was/will be your first tattoo? It's a semicolon butterfly. Do you have any tattoos dedicated to someone special? Yes, and I regret them both. One was for Colleen, the other for Sara. My personal advice for AAAAANYone wanting to get a tattoo for someone important: you have to ask yourself if you think they always will be. Ask yourself how likely they are to change for the negative, all this different stuff. I'm personally planning no "dedicated to..." tattoos ever again, unless of course someone I seriously treasure dies. Hell, this is something I feel so deeply about that I *almost* regret my Mark tattoo, because I mean yeah, wild shit could happen and then it's an awkward conversation piece. But for right now, it brings me comfort and motivation, so oh well. Live and ya learn. What is the next piercing you want to get? My nostril is realistically *probably* going to be next, but there are some others I want more that I'm just not at a weight yet where I'd feel comfortable having them. Do you like ghost stories? OHHHHHH yis Do you like to give people jump-scares? No, I don't think that's a nice thing to do unless they literally signed up for it, like at scary movies. Have you ever been in a toxic relationship? Yes, it eventually was one. I've even more confidently had a very toxic friendship. What website could you not live without? You guys cannot possibly understand how DRASTICALLY my life would change if YouTube was just stripped away tomorrow moring. Have you ever slept nude? Accidentally. Do you have any distinctive birthmarks? I do have one on the side of my right forearm. Who is a famous person you could see yourself reading an autobiography about? Oh, y'know, Mark. Pretty much the entire vocal fanbase has been pushing him about this for YEARS, lol. I would finish that book in a goddamn day. He's just always said he doesn't see his life as interesting or worth writing a book over and I cannot fathom the mind of this lad. What is the best horror movie, in your opinion? Maaaaan idk. I'm a horrible movie critic; I have like NO knowledge on what makes a movie truly "good" or "bad" or anything. I just watch a movie and decide by my gut whether or not I enjoyed the experience, so I'm leavin' this one up to the experts. Describe yourself with 3 fictional characters. Oh, Jesus. Well the first that came to mind was Dory from Finding Nemo because I don't remember SHIT and also do poorly if totally left alone and up to my own devices. Ummm then I guess like... Kiara of TLK? She's always trying to bring people together and sees good in more people than deserve it. Then #3... let's go with Henry Townshend from Silent Hill 4 ig primarily just because I too never know what the FUCK is going on and make it known quick, lmao. But I also would absolutely do what I could to help others. When was the last time you saw a photo of your ex? Not since our mutual friend Jacob shared pictures from what I think was a sort of get-together for he and his friends he planned. Jason now (well, I'm assuming he still does, he never really changed up his appearance in the past) has a full beard and mustache and I still recognized his picture in a millisecond. One of the weirdest feelings I've ever experienced was seeing that picture of him. I still don't know what the fuck I felt, but. It was something. What colour is your front door? White. Have you ever had a white hot chocolate? What did you think? Hm, no, but I'd give it a whirl. Do you enjoy corn on the cob? I do. Give it a little roll in butter and *chef's kiss* Have you ever bought alcohol or cigarettes for someone underage? No, and I wouldn't. Guilt would eat me alive, esp if something happened. If you use Snapchat, have you ever had a screenshot taken of you? I don't use it. Do you own an Xbox? No; my parents always got us PlayStation stuff. Has anyone done anything nice for you today? Yeah; Mom knew I wanted pizza so grabbed some for dinner. The last time you hung out with your sibling(s), what did you do? We don't really... "hang out" one-on-one or anything. I'm just the sister that exists but never knows how to interact with them. Have you ever been so lonely, you cried? Oh yes. If you were to have sex right now, would you use a condom? You will NEEEEEVER see sex without a condom happen in my life unless one partner is sterile. I ain't risking SHIT. What would you do if you found out your last ex is engaged? That would be VERY shocking with how slowly she moves romantically and with her being such a deep, deep thinker and contemplating any mistake that could be made, but I wouldn't *do* anything. We don't associate and I want nothing but the best for her, let her be happy and in love. Do you get along with your significant other’s family? I do! Granted I only know his mom, sister, nephew, and two other people that are *basically* family, but I think they're all wonderful with such giant, giant hearts. I know where Girt got his now. How would you feel if a girl asked your boyfriend out for a drink? Yeah, no. I trust Girt fully, I absolutely do, but this still isn't okay. It's a matter of respecting someone's relationship. I suppose there could be situations where I could go with him, but idk, even then the idea is weird. Who’s the last person you talked to about sex? Girt. How long did it take you to get over your last ex? I don't... know, really? I mean I was upset when the breakup happened, yeah, but simultaneously, I don't feel like there was anything to get over on my end. Idk, I still can't quite figure out what Sara and I had. Who is the best female rocker? Why? So honestly I don't really have an opinion on "best," but I CAN tell you Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy is my eternal reminder of The Gay in me; she is fucking gorgeous (do not get me STARTED on the video of her cover to "Demons Are A Girl's Best Friend," MOMMY), and she sings like a fucking lioness. Her growls and roars are fucking diabolical and I LIVE FOR IT. Can you even taste a difference between Cheez-Its and Cheez Nips? I can; I don't enjoy the latter. What color of roses do you find the prettiest? Ah man, that's hard. Maybe like dark red ones that fade to black, if that even exists? I also just think plain red roses are stunning. Have you ever seen an unwrapped mummy in person? No, and don't fucking do that because it is immensely disrespectful to Egyptian culture.

Slashers + Jennifer Check x Reader || Oneshot
Tumblr media
Title: Peeping Toms and Bets
Notes:
This is a remake and revamp of an old Oneshot request I did in my old blog. I hope you like this!
Jed is changed to Bubba, because in this shot the character does act most like Bubba then Thomas or Jedidiah ^^
The 2 would you rather’s were found online.
Plot: Jennifer has invited you over for a sleepover and you ask her a very interesting question. Oh and the boys are all listening together in and betting on your response to the question.
Warnings: Suggestive or course language.
Chucky, walks down the hall, headed for the kitchen while he knows the succubus and her friend are hidden away in the living room, feels a harrowing sense of disgust at what he sees. Well, the disgust being only on a strictly face value basis. Mostly he’s interested to hear the excuses his fellow Slashers have for their camping outside the closed living room door while two teenage girls have a sleepover inside. The first one to notice his presence, when he stops is Bubba who was taking a break from straining his ears to listen to whatever’s happening inside and look down the hall. Where he spots the bright hair and plastic features of child terror. He gasps, quickly and quietly, and alerts the others by tapping spatially on Michael and Stu.
They all turn to see Chucky, and Michael’s shoulders drop heavily in exasperation. Can’t he be left in peace? Why’d all these people have to join him? Stu gasps along with Bubba, before dissolving into a slightly guilty turned down grin, on one side, looking to the floor. Freddy has the good humour to look guilty, too. But isn’t really.
“… what the hell are you two doing??!” Chucky finally manages to spit out, past his pure amusement of the, concerning and slightly horrifying, scene. He raises an eyebrow and feels a tad out of place but stands his ground, when Stu and Bubba ‘Shh’ him, violently. Spit breaking from their mouths, he’s sure.
Freddy nearly panics entirely and immediately smacks Stu’s hand away from his face, looking between those two idiots and the door. “Shut up! Both of you, you were louder than him!” While he goes off on the two, Michael just sighs and opts to look back through the crack in the door that he was peaking though. “And you! Shut it! They might hear you, and then we will all be in trouble.”
“’All’??” Chucky exclaims furiously, eyes wide and wholly incredulous. “I’m not playing peaking Tom on teenage girls as an old man- “
Freddy’s voice is barely a whisper, in fact it’s much more like TV static then a human voice, due to his burnt vocal cords. “Don’t get your panties in a twist, they’re dressed. This is not a porn video. To my knowledge girls don’t, in fact, get undressed to sleepover with each other.” Stu mumbles a quiet ‘Yeah, unfortunately’ and pouts, as a couple of them share a moment of silence for the tragic misconception. Including Chucky and even Bubba. Michael rolls his eyes, still stretching his neck to look through the crack, back against the wall. “Haven’t caught a glimpse. We’re just listening.”
“And you don’t think they’d mind?” Recovered, Chucky smirks smugly, words dripping with sarcasm. Almost evilly, as if he’s 2 seconds from blowing their cover and telling Jennifer-or, worse. Jason, - what they’re up to.
Bubba looks nervous, at that, touching the tips of his meaty pointer fingers together and looking ashamedly thoughtful. But then Michael makes an audible ‘Pfft’ sound from under his mask like he really couldn’t care less if they minded, causing their plastic acquaintance to raise his eyebrows in surprise, he relaxes. If Michael doesn’t care, maybe he shouldn’t either. Michael is cool.
What would Jason say, though? Just as Bubba’s thoughts on that are immediately shut off, when the TV inside the living room turns off and silences engulfs the area. Then the girls inside start talking, which understandably makes every boy or man on the other side of the wall turn on their listening ears to level 99 and lean towards the sound.
Chucky makes a split-second decision and joins them on the floor. To tell the truth, he doesn’t give a flying fuck whether the girls mind, either. But he had to pick on these assholes, so if Stu doesn’t stop snickering at him, he’s going to cut out the teenager’s tongue, wrap it up and use it as a stress ball. Stu seems to get the message when Chucky connects gazes with him, slowly touches his own tongue, and then mimes violently tearing it out.
//
After the obligatory 3 movies (One romance, one horror which was a tough decision due to your friends living arrangements of course, and one comedy), you and Jennifer stop to recoup and recharge, and start talking. You’re wrapped in blankets and your favourite pyjama’s, and she’s dipping into her coloured popcorn. The only sugar, to your knowledge, that this girl intakes. Its no wonder she’s so gorgeous. She decides on a diet and exercise regimen and sticks to it. Truly amazing. You? Well… you prefer your snacks to a model perfect body.
Surrounding the two of you are many, many pillows and blankets. Some you’ve come to realise were stolen from some of her roommate’s rooms, due to their particular smell and some concerning stains. Also, the one that evidently belongs to Michael has a violent looking hole in it and has stuffing poking out.
Another is a full size Hatsune Miku body pillow, and you don’t dare to ask whos’ room she snatched that one from. Although, you have your suspects. Confirmation, though, is an entirely different experience. And one that you would rather not have.
As you start talking, you dig into your own chosen caffeine for the night. You’re playing would you rather, of course.
Because its fun, to give your friend two horrible or disgusting options and make them choose one.
“Would you rather have uncontrollable gas at work for the rest of your life or for every first date you have for the rest of your life?”
“Work!” Jennifer decides, immediately, apparently horrified by the other prospect. “If I was an uncontrollable fart machine for all of my first dates, I would starve! Who cares if my stuffy boss smells eggs for the rest of his miserable life.”
She sure has some… strong feelings, about her non-existent future boss. You snigger, sipping your drink through a chewed straw. “Okay, okay…”
“Would you rather have an animal best friend, any animal, meaning if it were a bear or a horse you could ride them around, or be married to someone who is peak attractive for you.”
That stumps you, and for a moment you just sit there with your mouth open, thinking furiously. Jennifer grins wide. “A wonderful pet buddy or best sex??” And at that, she starts to laugh a bit, patting your knee. You’re lost! “Impossible!”
“I know what I’d pick-“
“Yeah I know what you would pick. Evil one.”
She laughs some more.
Evilly.
After a couple of minutes of that, her teasing you and you thinking, you finally decide. Although, you only say it very, very quietly and into a pillow, so no higher power hears and grants it.
After that, you feel the need to be evil as well and think for a few moments deeply about wat to ask her… then come up with something perfect. You smirk at her over your pillow and sit it back down on your lap, still holding it. “If the world was ending, and it was up to you to save it, and you did want to save it, and you had to sleep with someone to do that… who would it be?” She immediately opens her mouth to say a name, but you quickly, mischievously hold up your hand halt her, and add the evilness. “Thing is!! It has to be one of the Slasher boys that you live with. Patrick and Carrie don’t count.”
Like you did before, she stops. Slowly closes her mouth, and looks off into the distance. Stuck. “Uh, so… one of… Bubba, Chucky, Freddy, Jason, Billy, Stu, or Michael?”
Oh, damn. You think, realising you forgot to cast out Billy and Stu. Well, that was a bust attempt at causing her strife-
“That’s impossible! What the fuck??”
Oh, okay. That’s kind of sad for Billy and Stu… But, uh, good for you!
//
The creepy group outside the door, which has grown a few more hands and legs belonging to Billy and Jason. The former only being there as he was trying to stop them from being weird but had given up and got tired, so he sat down. Now he was, apparently, apart of this. Somehow.
Billy is here because his DVD player got jammed.
After hearing Y/N’s question, multiple reactions come from these Slashers.
1.       Chucky and Freddy are very creepy and partake in some wolfish grinning that frightens Bubba and puts off Jason.
2.       Stu goes very, very red, and grins a little goofy. He shut down the moment the question was issued, so he didn’t hear the incriminatingly insulting thing that Jennifer hinted about him.
3.       Bubba also goes bright red, and covers his face.
4.       And Billy pauses momentarily, having caught the ego crushing material, then takes a deep breath and sits up straighter. “Oof, so, lets lay some bets?”
Billy holds up 10 fingers, sitting cross legged the furthest away from the door or wall, in general. “For Jen saying Michael.” The said shape of Haddonfield turns gruffly to the Ghostface original, who shrugs and grins his knowing grin. “I could explain it to you, but then you would think I checked you out.”
“Oh no, but in reality, you just watch his movie once a month- once a week in 91.” Stu narrowly escapes Billy’s wrath, ducking out of the way and practically into Bubba’s lap when his friends reaches for his hair. Michael just deeply sighs, along with Jason and continues to watch.
“Moving on from that borderline embarrassing bit of information that I’m sure we’re all going to ridicule you for later, I have a bet too. Since you think she’ll pick Michael, I’ll put 50 on myself.”
“30 on Billy. Despite, his gayness.” Freddy adds, preoccupied listening into the living room, but never too preoccupied to tease.
“I’m not gay!”
“Its okay, Billy, its 2020. You can be open with us.”
“Fuck you man, you suck, you’re going down on the favourite Slasher list.”
Freddy just giggles at that, turning his full concentration back on Jennifer.
Jason sighs deeply, his shoulders literally raising and falling in an obvious effort to make it noticeable. It is noticeable, its just that no one cares that he disapproves. He sighs again, this time quieter to himself, in hopelessness. He refuses to gamble on this.
Stu holds up a hand full of fingers and a thumb, five. “On Y/N picking Jason.” Michael nods to that, agreeing and holding up both his hands, 4 times. He’s got 40 on Y/N picking Jason. Jason himself looks specifically at his fellow voiceless murderer Michael, in horror. He thought better, of him. Michael only shrugs in response, like ‘You shouldn’t have though so highly of me. That was stupid.’. besides, its October, he’s naturally bound to take more risks. Plus, he’s had an odd inkling, that Y/N’s liked Jason for a while. She comes over a lot for Jennifer, but sometimes she hangs with Jason instead.
Chucky smirks at the interaction. “As I’m obligated to always contradict everyone else, I’m going to bet fifty-five, on her picking Freddy.”
“Oh. Hell no.” Billy butts in, unhappy with these high ass numbers. “I’ve been flirting with Y/N for weeks. It’ll pay off, she’ll pick me.”
Bubba doesn’t bet. He remembers how Drayton and Chop Top get when they used to bet on horses, and it wasn’t pretty. He doesn’t want to be like that, no.
//
Jennifer’s still thinking a couple minutes later, and you’re starting to worry when she finally moves. And flops back on her mattress that she’d had Bubba carry down here for her, in the hopelessness of it all. You will be sleeping on the couch, but you’re on her mattress too right now for until you go to sleep. If you go to sleep. This particular question may take some time.
“Uhh… lets see… “You crawl up to her head and plonk down where you can see her face. She chews on the inside of her cheek, and then starts to think out loud for your benefit. “Billy’s our age, and so pretty,” You nod, understanding. He is very pretty. “But… “
“But?”
“Well, but… Michael is so big!” She throws her arms onto the mattress on either side of her body for emphasis, causing you to open your mouth and raise your eyebrows and the boldness, then laugh and nod at the same time. Yeah… yeah… that true too…
And a very interesting point… You think to yourself, dusting a gentle pink across your cheeks.
“Y/N, no. This is not a laughing matter!” She’s grinning, though.
You raise your hands, playing surrender. “No, no, of course not! I’ll stop!”
“You better.”
//
“Stop fucking around!” Freddy exclaims, not loud enough for either of the girls to hear of course. He grits his teeth. “I’m betting on the outcome of your decision, bitch! Shut up and say ‘Billy’!”
“So… “Chucky starts to rethink his decision to bet. “What happens if they don’t decide? Is the game off, or… ?”
Billy halts for a moment, then looks at Bubba for a second. “Oh, yeah Bubba? You think the money should go to the new TV fund?? Well, if you say so!”
Bubba immediately looks panicked and confused, a serious squawk escaping him aimed towards the others. He didn’t say that! He didn’t even think that! Honestly, he thinks it’s should go towards a chicken coup…
Jason quickly pats Bubba’s shoulder, still in a perpetual state of exasperation and tired, but still wanting to assure Bubba that, they know. Billy’s full of crap, we know you didn’t say that.
//
Finally, Jennifer decides and makes an ‘Ah!’ sound, moving her finger from her lips thoughtfully, to the air excitedly. She sits up and faces you.
Oh, this is very serious. It must be. It demands eye contact. “You’ve decided?
“Yes.” Her finger lowers to her shoulder height. “Okay so, I simply boiled it down to a science.”
“You did?” You ask, just humouring her.
“Yes. So,” She starts counting off Slashers from her list of possibilities with her fingers. “First of all, Freddy killed his wife. So, he’s out.” Well that makes sense. “And Billy tried to kill his girlfriend, so even though he’s sexy, he isn’t trustworthy either, so he’s gone too.” So far so good. “Jason’s rotting away, and ‘Au Decaying’ doesn’t really stimulate me to do anything apart from spray him with anti-bacterial and Hello kitty deodorant, despite his wonderful shoulders.” Oh, yes. Jason does have nice shoulders. “Then Bubba’s flesh mask is a complete turn off, Chucky’s a Good Guy, not a bad boy. And Stu’s a weirdo.”
You nod, a smile reaching your lips and the pure simplicity of her end decision, coming to the only conclusion. “So… Michael.”
“Yeah!”
“I don’t think he showers regularly.”
“Eh, neither do a lot of the boys I eat.”
//
Stu is gaping, very wide and very deeply. “A weirdo??” He looks in disbelief to his best friend and the victor. Michael nods, being hurtfully honest with the kid and Billy comforts him with a shoulder pat. He is also reeling. He hadn’t previously identified his Sydney fiasco as a warning for other girls… maybe he should have. This could be an issue.
“Yeah… man, you are a weirdo.”
“Thanks so much, buddy.”
“Yeah, you’re welcome.”
“Bad boy?” Chucky asks, pleasantly surprised. He turns to Bubba, who’s looking indignantly at the door because his fashion is ahead of their time! “Do I have bad boy energy?”
Freddy sulks. “Oh… I get it… “
Jason rolls his eyes at them all. They’re all ridiculous!
//
“What about you?” Jennifer asks, turning the tables on you.
“Me?” You squeak.
“Yeah, you.”
“Well… “You square your shoulders, ready in the face of a challenge. “Well, lemme see… Well, Jason is strong, and sweet- “
“Oh yes.” You wince, at Jennifer’s sudden cold tone, as she squinty glares at you. “I know you think Jason’s sweet. You’ve abandoned me multiple times, to ang with him the kitchen! Betrayal!”
“Aha… ah… well, moving on! Chucky’s got a very hot aura!” You quickly push on, afraid of your friend’s wrath about Jason. “A-and, um… He’s also very handsome as a human, so I guess it wouldn’t be bad if he were in that form… “ Jennifer breaks out into a grin, glad to have made you stutter a bit, and back to her good mood. You sigh, back muscles relaxing. Evil girl.
“Yes, and the rest…?” Oh, she still wants you to answer the question, okay.
“Well. Stu’s tall, and rich. Which, of course, isn’t a deal maker but it’s a good point to mention.” Jennifer nods solemnly at that. “Michael provides a very nice… well, err, he would make a nice nude model. And Freddy’s got a really attractive voice, which I don’t think he knows which is very good thing, don’t let him know. And, Bubba’s so sweet. And Billy… is Billy. I don’t know what to say, he’s been flirting with me for weeks now.”
Jennifer rolls her eyes. “Mood.”
//
“I’m… Billy.” Billy grins, feeling proud of his persona for a moment and puffing out his chest in pride. Chucky gazes at Jason, like ‘Yeah, I guess he is the whole package… ‘, and Jason himself scotches away from the ginger doll. “I knew she was picking it up! I learnt all I know from movi-“
“Me, you know all you know from me.” Freddy cuts through, deadpanned.
“Which explains why she wasn’t jumping for joy when she mentioned it.” Chucky yawns.
“Hey!!” Chucky gets a chuckle out of that reaction from the two.
“Who cares?! This girl is just after my money!!” Stu exclaims, looking hopeless. He chuckles, haughtily then and crosses his arms. “Well guess what? None of its mine! It belongs to my parents! So, ha!” Michael shakes his head and looks disappointedly at the teenager. That doesn’t help your case… It really does not…
“Well Charlie, maybe I don’t need to flirt. My voice does it for them,” A devious smirk slips across Freddy’s face and he evilly cackles after a moment. Jason looks severely exasperated at him, and Freddy just sticks out his tongue. “Jealous.”
Bubba is touched that they think he’s sweet. That’s nice.
___ NOW MAKE YOUR DECISION! ___
Billy Loomis:
Tumblr media
“I’m gonna have to disagree with you, Jen.” You grin and can’t help it. Its sort of a nice thought, to have to fuck Billy. “Billy’s the only choice.”
She scoffs and throws some of her popcorn at you.
//
Billy stretches and yawns, like he’s so very exhausted of that thing called being fuckable, and turns to look weirdly smug at Michael. “That’s right, only competition. She chose me.”
“-Only competition!? Excuse you, former bud!” Stu smacks his friend, scowling.
“Well that is what you get for outing my obsession with the Halloween movies to Michael fucking Myers.”
“You bitter thing!”
Bubba Sawyer:
Tumblr media
“Aww, Bubba.” You decide, finally truly thinking about the cinnamon roll. You smile. “It has to be Bubba. He’s the cutest, and the nicest one here.” Jennifer makes a ‘yuck’ face.
“The mask??”
“That can be removed.” You reply quickly.
//
Bubba blushes brightly in the dimness of the hallway, pulling away from the wall he was listening to, between Stu and Jason continues to look bashful and gooey at the floor for a little while, until Jason realises he’s going to have to guide him home to hid basement bedroom and looks deeply unamused about it. But, still kind of happy for his-pseudo brother.
“BUBBA?! Who bet on Bubba?!”
Chucky/Charles Lee Ray:
Tumblr media
Lowly, with an embarrassed, dark blush on your face, you mutter. “Chucky… “ Jennifer looks two seconds from king shaming you, so you rush to add. “In human form!! Dear God.”
“Oh… “She doesn’t look convinced, making you roll your eyes. “Yeah, sure. You tell yourself that. You go be nasty on the couch.”
//
Chucky looks smugly at everyone, in turn, very, very happy with the outcome of that despite not winning the bet. “Yeah.” Freddy scowls at him.
“Don’t you look at me.”
“Yep, me.” Chucky ignores him. “Suck it.”
Freddy Krueger:
Tumblr media
Realising who it would have to be, you widen your eyes and consider lying. But of course, decide to be honest. “Uh… well, um, Freddy… yup.”
She raises her eyebrows. “What if he goes batshit and tries to choke you to death?”
You laugh, at that. “Honestly, I do think choking would be a part of it, but in the case of danger I’ll just call you!” You grin cheerily at her. “Best friend!”
“Aye,”
//
“I don’t understand her.” Chucky feels the need to inform everyone. “But I just one the bet so good on her.”
“Four weeks, of my wonderful flirting, and I’m stabbed in the gut.” Billy groans, and throws is money on the floor. Shaking his head, he gets up and leaves, put out.
Stu sniggers, and gets up to follow him, turning back just to tell the others. “He’ll never recover.”
Freddy looks like he thinks he’s just won an Oscar. “I’d like to say a couple words!”
“Oh, christ.”
“I’d like to thank all my competitors for losing, and uh,” he finishes shining one of his knives on the edge of his jumper. “I promise to say hi to Y/N for you all later tonight when I visit her in her dreams.” Michael facepalms.
Jason Voorhees:
Tumblr media
Finally, you decide and nod your head firmly. And exclaim, cheerily. “Jason! He’s perfect, I love, what a guy.”
When you look at Jennifer, immediately you let out a ‘YAH!’ scream and jump back, seeing her horrifying aura.
“I NEW THERE WAS SOMETHING GOING ON!”
“Stop itttttttttt!”
//
Stu facepalms. “Why did I only bet five???”
On the other hand, Michael smirks proudly under his mask, collecting his money. Yep, Jason. What a guy, indeed.
Everyone else, looks to the hockey mask wearing Slasher, who this whole time was against their listening and betting. How will he react?
He… has gone into silent shock. He may need some minutes alone. You… him?? You would pick him??? You… would pick him?? He raises his eyebrows under his mask like ‘Oh’. What is he supposed to do with this information?
“Yeah, I know hockey puck. This may be a shock for you, being ugly and all, but- Jason?”
Jason’s already up walking thoughtfully down the hall.
Michael Myers:
Tumblr media
“Ahh, I have to agree with you. Totally Michael.”
“Told you!”
//
Michael but sits and experiences his punishment, which is many, many upset Slasher outcry’s.
“Both of them??!”
“Greedy bitch.”
“How??”
Michael sighs, and turns to an indifferent Jason for help. Jason looks at him and feels zero remorse for him, he brought this upon himself. He should not have been betting and spying.
Stu Macher:
Tumblr media
“Well, these are all… interesting choices,” You start, cautious. “But, um… I think will go with Stu. Very cute, very funny. Very not connected to anything rotting, and... less stabby, then the others..”
“Well, that’s true. Probably a good choice.”
“Yeah,” You smile. “Okay, so, moving on. About that movie… “
//
Stu has this goofy ass, shocked, love struck look on his face that makes the rest of them a little nervous for about 2 seconds. Chucky takes the initiative pokes him. “Hey, Daffy Duck, what wrong with your fac- “
The 2 seconds ended, and so does Stu’s quiet, as he lunges up and grabs the doorknob, ready to throw it open and rush on in there and blow all their covers. Michael immediately shoots to action and grabs Stu’s leg to stop him, fighting not to let Stu shake him off. Everyone tries to vein to persuade him not to go, shut him up and clam him down, but their efforts are weak compared to the power of a horny teenager.
“Hey, hey!” Chucky exclaims, through everyone’s panicked whispered, grunts and frantic arm waiving, patting Michael on the shoulder. “… he’s gone.” With that out, Chucky shoots down the hallways as fast as his little legs can take him. Michael and Billy follow, because like hell they are going to get caught because Stu’s stupid, and Stu bursts into living room, revealing the other 3 still on the floor in the doorway… Freddy, incriminatingly on his knees just where the crack in the door would be, slowly, awkwardly waives and Jason bows his head in apology.
Bubba bolts.

I’m posting this several hours past the deadline, but it’s okay bc I posted a single bingo a couple days ago (so that one counts). This has been an incredible fest! It’s my first EVER as a member of this fandom and I’ve enjoyed all of the wonderful, creative stories that came out of it... not to mention, I really enjoyed writing the three that I contributed myself! Thank you to the mods for organizing this, and to all of you that submitted work.
I decided to come back and fill out a full bingo card with recs.
The one line I did before just wasn’t enough.
... And, this time, I’m going to properly gush. 🥰
Featuring Art: you know what they say: better late than never
This is literally so fucking pure.
Rare Ships: everyday the hold is getting tighter (and it troubles me so)
Do Ruth/Stevie count as a rare ship? They’re not ~technically canon, so I’m counting it. This piece is REALLY sweet and features one of my favorite tropes (“there’s only one bed!!”)
Character Archetypes: breaking open the game
This is a GORGEOUS exploration of Patrick’s experience as a queer athlete.
Alexis’ POV: Rollin' With the Homies
YA’LL. This fic tho. Like. Not only does Alexis’s POV really shine when read through this lens, it also blends so well with Cher’s tone that it’s... like... It’s perfect. It’s the perfect mashup. The author’s choice to write it in first-person was a boss move and I read the entire thing in Alexis’s actual voice in my head. AND TWYLEXIS KISS IN DISNEYLAND? COME. ON.
Audio/Podfic: [Podfic] Never Felt This Way Before
This is one of my favorites from @schittposting, given new life. Such a beautiful transformation of an already beautiful fic.
Patrick’s POV: What's New Pussycat?
There are literally no words to explain this. David is a cat. Literally. I never realized how on brand that would be, but... dude, David Rose is a cat.
Less Than 2k: lost mittens and dryer lint
Not only did this lead me into a spiral watching the original House Hippo advert and reading about that whole thing (fucking fascinating), it also had me giggling and smiling. So cute.
Romantic Tropes: You Look Like a Movie, You Sound Like a Song
SUCH a unique take on rom-com tropes and David’s love for them. I can’t say much more without spoiling the magic of it because it truly is an original concept. Just... take my word for it. Read it.
Set in SC: Budd is a dud! Vote Sands.
Love, love, love this view of Stevie/Twyla’s relationship. There’s a great mix of comedy, romance, and general sweetness.
Over 20k: I Waited My Whole Life
I mean, I love weddings and this has SEVERAL of them, so obviously it’s gonna be on my rec list. It’s a great story and a beautiful ride, from beginning to end. There’s a great balance of comedy and fluff... and tbh the banter? [chef’s kiss]
Fantasy and Fandom Tropes: Captive on the carousel of time
There is so much to love about this fic. Seeing David and Patrick from Twyla’s perspective is absolutely adorable, for one, and Twyla’s perspective IN GENERAL is delightful. There’s also a time-loop AND Stevie/Twyla.
Canon-Compliant: to the end of reckoning
This is a cool take on Patrick and Ronnie’s dynamic and I’ve frankly accepted it as part of my personal head-canon. It’s so spot on.
Free Space: More Than a Bird
At no point in my life did I think, “You know who would make a great superhero? David Rose.” Then I read this, and I haven’t stopped thinking... You know who would make a great superhero? David Fucking Rose. It’s a great exploration of his character and Patrick’s character... and also David’s familial dynamic with Stevie and Alexis. I would read another 20k of this, to be totally honest with ya’ll.
Free Space honorable mention: Make a Wish
Okay, I couldn’t choose between this one and the above one for my free space, so you’re getting both. I fucking love this concept and how the author incorporated the rings into the genie mythos... and the mythos the author created in general for how genies work? The Aladdin references were lovely, but there’s also a fresh, original sorta vibe. And the background of HOW David ended up a genie in the first place is just... gold. Such a good story overall.
Platonic Tropes: Gonna Watch You Shine
Johnny and Stevie are family now. 🥺
That’s it. That’s all you need to know. Read it.
Rare POV: didn’t ask for this--you freely gave it (so now i watch your mouth for both of us)
This fic takes you on the journey of Twyla and Alexis’s relationship over the course of the show through Twyla’s eyes and it’s stunning.
Based on a Movie: Taste of a Poison Paradise
It’s Alexis as Harley Quinn. Do I need to say more? This is so so good. I love ALL of the author’s choices re: character alter egos. Rachel as Black Canary?  Stevie as Catwoman? STEVIE/RACHEL??? And, obvi, the Twylexis of it all. My favorite part (and why it gets this bingo slot) is the way Alexis’s thought bubbles actually made their way into the text, ala Harley’s voiceovers in Birds of Prey. It worked really really well.
David’s POV: Flying Coach
Genuinely a fucking delight. David’s characterization here is flawless, first of all, and... honestly, whoever you are, author person... I’d really like to see what happens next in Paris. So, if you could get on that, that would be great. [David Rose voice] Thanks so much.
Multiple Tropes: You Happened
High school David/Patrick and Stevie/Twyla? Sign me the fuck up. This is one of my favorite takes on the “David works at Rose Video” concept (which is already one of my fave SC tropes), and it seamlessly folds in so many different nods to canon. It’s sweet and it’s funny and it’s angsty and it’s just a lot. It’s so good.
Canadian Tropes: Close Encounters of the Alces Kind
This had me giggling basically the entire time. Who wouldn’t love a text-based fic about a moose? ...David, probably... but that’s it.
Featuring Music: favored nations
I will never shut up about this fic for as long as I fucking live. I’m literally tearing up writing this stupid little rec and thinking about it. David’s whole story with his galleries translates SO well into what the author set up for him here... and humble!famous Patrick is just Correct in every way. It’s a brilliant, brilliant AU... and tbh? I wish David and Patrick were real so they could actually create this play together. I’d love to see it.
Set Outside SC: how it's gonna always be
This one stole my heart. It’s SO beautifully written, first of all, and it’s a great story. Both David and Patrick have the habit of running from their problems, but it’s with each other that they finally dive in headfirst. Also, y’know, the fic is 🔥🔥🔥.
WLW Fic: If You Could See The Other Side Of Me
This had me fucking cackling. By now, ya’ll know how much Stevie/Alexis mean to me and dksvjioehgo dude this take is just... [chef’s kiss]. The author even wrote lyrics. Like. That ALONE sends this fic to the next fucking level. Quebecky Stan 4 Lyfe.
Stevie’s POV: In the Running
Another take on the “Stevie and Twyla compete for a council seat” prompt. I loved how this brought out their competitive sides. A delight.
Multiple Chapters: four four four two
SOFT!!! ALSO THERE ARE BAKED GOODS!!! AND INCREDIBLY FLIRTATIOUS NOTES!!! AND PEEK-A-BOO STEVIE/RUTH TOO!
Gen Fic: The Guestbook of David and Patrick Rose-Brewer
The voices are so spot on. Just. So perfect. I wish I could hear the actors read this.

Phantom of The Opera
The Phantom of the Opera (Andrew Lloyd Webber) - 25th Anniversary - Live At The Royal Albert Hall - October 2, 2011 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Ramin Karimloo (The Phantom of the Opera), Sierra Boggess (Christine Daaé), Hadley Fraser (Raoul), Wendy Ferguson (Carlotta Giudicelli), Gareth Snook (Monsieur Firmin), Barry James (Monsieur André), Liz Robertson (Madame Giry), Wynne Evans (Ubaldo Piangi), Daisy Maywood (Meg Giry), Nick Holder (Joseph Buquet), Earl Carpenter (Auctioneer), Sergei Polunin (Slave Master) NOTES: Commonly referred to as "Live Stream Version 1" to differentiate from the other cinema live stream video of this production. Typically circulates as a 5.36 GB MKV file with AC3 5.1 audio. Has alternate takes from Live Stream Version 2 and the officially released verson. The first shot in this version is of the orchestra (pictured below). Another note is that Piangi does not hit the note the note in Hannibal ”Your army ha - ha - has come home!" (and the camera is zoomed out more than Version 2, showing Carlotta next to him). You can also see him put his hand on his collar bone near his throat, which he does not do in Version 2.
The Phantom of the Opera (Andrew Lloyd Webber) - Broadway - February 28, 1988 (Highlights) FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Michael Crawford (The Phantom of the Opera), Sarah Brightman (Christine Daaé), Steve Barton (Raoul) NOTES: About an hour and a half of the show, missing a bunch of the beginning of act 2, which starts in the middle of Don Juan. Rock The Rink 2019 - Abbotsford
I thought I might try to write about my personal experience in the show. It’s going to probably be a lot of rambling so bear with me if you’re up for it...
Tbh after watching TTYCT I never thought I will be able to watch another show where Tessa and Scott perform. Coming all the way to Canada isn’t an easy task (not to mention costly) and between work and my master’s and real-life hassles, it felt like a once in a lifetime thing. But between making several personal changes over the last few months after a personally difficult year and deciding to take some time to myself and travel in North America for several weeks I knew that I will make an effort to somehow make it work. Vancouver seemed like the most realistic option and since it was also on my bucket list, the Vancouver show was chosen. When I learned that this will be their last tour (forever? for a while? who knows) I knew I wanted to add another show and with the help of good people in this fandom it happened. It’s a good time to thank all of those who reached out and offered a ride - it’s easy to get wrapped up in the negativity of this fandom but there are also truly nice and warm people here.
So for the interesting part - the show, I absolutely loved it. The cast is truly spectacular and the chemistry between them is palpable. I also thought the choreography of the group numbers is some of the best I’ve seen in a long time -  it felt fresh, mature and cohesive. There was almost like a linking line between every group number and the smart decision to let everyone in the cast shine during them while still somehow giving Tessa and Scott the center stage in most of them was a smart one and one that really paid off. The band part was good as well (especially when they perform the acoustic version of their song) but I will say that the decision to have a long break after their set (while understandable for production needs) is a little bit questionable. Still, once the show begins it’s 90 minutes of nonstop skating which is truly amazing.
The individual numbers (no spoilers):
I’ve never seen Jeremy Abbot skate (other than his Sochi programs) and I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable I found him to be. Plus every time he did a backflip the crowd lost it - he is definitely good as a crowd pleaser and I can totally see why he was added to the show.
KO is always a joy to watch and I felt like her number was also about her embracing herself, physically it’s obvious she’s changed now that she’s not in elite athlete shape, but she’s just as gorgeous as she was before and she has such a warm and smiley energy that you simply can’t help but enjoy her.
Both Elvis and Patrick were a hit with the older ladies and it’s always funny to watch the ladies go crazy over both, especially over Elvis. At some point, Elvis did a move and ended up right by a group sitting on the ice level and one woman was so excited I swear she started screaming.
Tati and Max still have the tricks that’s for sure, I never noticed how impressive Tati is on the ice, but this time I definitely did. They hit some beautiful poses and overall seemed ecstatic to be there and the crowd showered them with love.
Caro. Tbh I have no words to describe Caro. It was the first moment during the night that I was close to tears, it’s basically her moving on the ice, no jumps, but it was so enchanting you just know she puts a spell on the audience.
The group numbers:
I don’t want to write much because I don’t want to spoil anything, I truly think that the experience will be at it best when you know as little as possible (though I totally get watching the HD videos some are gracious enough to share). I will say again that I think the choreography was more mature and enchanting. It was more than just skating for the entertainment value (which is perfectly fine) but there was an added layer to the choreography and the performances. It was apparent that the cast loves those numbers, they were so into it and truly gave it everything they have and I think that with more time and getting more comfortable and familiar with the material, it will become even more special. There is something to be said about the age of the cast - having almost the entire cast be in their 30s really brings a level of maturity to the skating that you rarely see. It also emphasizes how longevity in figure skating should be valued, encouraged and aspired.
The costumes:
I have to give a major shout out to Mathieu for the costumes. Every costume was well made and fitted the theme of the dance. I think one of my favorite dresses was Caro’s dress for her solo. The costumes also really emphasized certain let’s say features of the male skaters, and that’s also highly appreciated. The 20s number costumes are also absolutely to die for and I’m not really familiar with the level of success Mathieu had prior to working with TS (I know he was doing skating costumes, not sure to what extent) but with him doing the costumes for the show for the second time and also doing the costumes for BoTB I will assume his partnership with TS turned out to be very beneficial for him (as it should, I don’t love everything he does but there’s no doubt he is amazingly talented).
Tessa and Scott
Saving the best to last... Where do I even begin? There was so much being said prior to this tour, about how they will maybe phone it in, about how they will have no chemistry, about how Scott doesn’t care. None of it is true and this show is the best proof for it. Their chemistry is still off the charts and can be felt in every move they make. Their quality of skating is second to none, the little nods to past programs were a punch in the gut in the best way possible and their love for what they do could be seen and felt during the entire show. Scott’s energy levels for the entire 90 minutes of the show are something I have no idea how he even sustains, he was all in, and Tessa shines like the bright light she is. Together they truly give everything they have during the show.
As for the video, it was both heartbreaking and beautiful, they were both visibly emotional and said beautiful things. It is however not the only or even last thing they say about each other, so it should really be put in some perspective. The following Fix You number was also gut-wrenching and beautifully choreographed and performed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And to finish on a personal note - I’ve been following Tessa and Scott for close to 6 years now. It’s been a ride I could have never imagined when I first watched them skate in Sochi for the first time. So to watch them being constantly reduced to mostly made up personal drama is more frustrating than I could put into words. It was frustrating when every little thing was being used as proof of them dating and it’s even more frustrating to watch it being used as proof they hate each other and or whatever the current narrative is. It’s bad when outside forces are being accused of being the cause of their supposed hatred for each other and it’s even worse when it’s one of them that’s being cast as the villain of their story (for a long time it was Tessa, now it’s Scott). No one is saying things are the same as they used to be, but the change was bound to happen and does not mean that things are as gloom and doom as people insist they are. I’m not trying to change anyone’s mind, as I said before some people seem determined to make themselves suffer, but I’ll be damned if I let it get to me. It’s easy to lose perspective sometimes and try to use this platform to fight the negativity, but the cost of it sometimes gets too high on a personal level. So for the rest of the tour, I will do everything I can to keep myself in a positive headspace only, It’s what I deserve and it’s what they deserve as well.

She Wins.
Thor x Reader
Tumblr media
Request: “Can you make a thor x reader where the reader is an actress and she takes him as her date to the awards and he presents her award to her on stage”
Word Count: 2,199
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: Swearing, Cute Thor
A/N: This one was really fun to write considering I’m going to school to literally be an actress. Just the thought of being at an award show like this one day is honestly kind of a dream to me, so writing about it was a pretty fun experience. I hope you enjoy this one!
───────────────────────────────────
You look in the mirror of your room, assessing your outfit. You were in full glam tonight, as it was the Oscars, and you were up for best actress in a leading role. This was a really big deal to you, considering the Academy voted on who they thought should get each award, and you were close friends with some of the people who were deciding whether or not you get the award. While some may say it’s rigged due to the fact that you know some people who will assist in selecting, they’re all professionals who can recognize talent. Even though you know them personally, they won’t just give you the award unless they believe you’ve earned it. That makes it even more nerve-wracking. When it comes to the Golden Globes, it’s just critics, and you’ve learned to not ignore, but not completely listen to critics. All critics have different opinions, and quite frankly many of them are still sexist, so no matter what you do, some people will always find you to be bad. Especially since you speak out against anything and everything when it comes to women being underestimated and overlooked. Some men are just too fragile with their masculinity. Honestly, there was only one man whose opinion mattered to you, and he basically worshipped the ground you walked on. Thor.
Ironically, while you were thinking about Thor, he walked into the room, and stopped dead in his tracks. “I have never seen true beauty until this very moment on this very day,” he announces, causing you to blush. “You say that every time you see me, Thunder Boy,” you say, turning to face him as he makes his way over to you. “That is because every time I see you, I am reminded of what true beauty is. No matter how you believe you look, I see the most gorgeous being in the universe, and most definitely the most gorgeous Midgardian to ever exist.” He wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you into a kiss. You smile into it, pulling away to look at him. “Well you don’t look too bad yourself, you know.” He was wearing a fitted black suit, and even though he looks very attractive in his Asgardian gear, Thor in a suit? Hot. “Thank you, my love. But my appearance pales in comparison to you, as always.”
Thor always knew what to say to make you feel more confident. Not even just with looks, but with everything. If you were doubting your acting abilities, he’d tell you immediately to, “never doubt the natural abilities you have, as you have proven time and time again that you are gifted when it comes to portraying another.” No matter how you feel, Thor can always just improve it. And he did just that in this very second. You reached up and brushed a strand of his long hair behind his ear. “Why is it that even when my hair is restrained some pieces still tend to get out?”
“Hair is uncontrollable, Thor. It does what it wants,” you say, grabbing his hand. “Now, shall we go to the red carpet?”
“Indeed.” You lead him down to the limo you’ll be arriving at the awards show in. Happy is your driver, and he smiles at you, opening the door. “Thanks, Happy. I appreciate you volunteering to drive us tonight,” you tell him, giving him a quick embrace. “Of course, (Y/N). I’d drive you two to Walmart in a limo if you needed me to.” You laugh at his response, getting into your ride as Thor follows you in. Obviously you would bring your boyfriend as your plus one, and you know a lot of your work friends were excited to finally meet him. You two would no doubt be plastered on every tabloid and your pictures would be all over social media tomorrow, which meant you’ll see the typical Thor fangirl posts complaining about you. However, you didn’t care. Tonight was special for you, and you wanted to share it with someone even more special. Thor grabs your hand, kissing it before setting it back down while still holding it. “Will all of your friends from work like me?”
“They’re going to love you, don’t worry. The only people you should be worried about are all the photographers and interviewers who are going to try to shove their microphones in your face and get you to talk all the time. That shit is annoying.”
He chuckles at you, wrapping his arm around you in the process. “I cannot imagine it is as annoying as fighting off an entire army,” he says, and you grin. “Yeah, it probably isn’t but I wish I could fight them off sometimes. Honestly, who cares what you and I do? Can you believe that someone asked me if we joined the Mile High Club once?” “Ridiculous. You and I have joined no clubs.”
“Well, no we actually did join that one and honestly a whole new Mile Higher Club.”
“We have joined a club?”
You start to laugh at his cluelessness, before whispering in his ear what the Mile High Club was. His eyes get big for a moment before he lets out a loud laugh. “Oh we have joined that club! I did not know it was a club, is there a membership we are a part of now?”
“No, Thor, it’s just a ‘club’ people ‘join.’ It’s not a real organization,” you inform, and he nods. “You Midgardians are a strange species.”
“Yeah says the guy who can literally control lightning,” you say, and he shrugs. “I would not call that strange. It is just one of my many talents,” he smiles at you and you roll your eyes. “Get your ego in check there, babe,” you say, patting his cheek as he chuckles.
The ride seems to go fast, considering any time you get to be with Thor is ridiculously fun. When you two pull up to the venue, you smile at him. “Be ready for lots of flashing lights and lots of noise,” you tell him and he smiles. “I can handle some flashing lights and noises,” he assures you and you wink at him. The door opens, and you make your way out of the limo, thanking Happy for bringing you and Thor again. Thor gets out moments after you, immediately grabbing your hand. You smile at him, and you two make your way over to where the pictures are being taken. You pass by fans, reporters, and some paps. You smile and wave to people who support you, Thor giving them an appreciative smile for supporting the love of his life. A member of your team walks beside you, and she’s already eyeing the outlets and reporters she wants you to talk to. You know the photos come first, so you walk straight over there, waiting your turn as someone is already getting the photos snapped of them. Your team works to make sure you look picture perfect, and you grin at Thor. He grins back, and when the actor in front of you is done with his photoshoot, you and Thor are up.
You immediately hit your staple pose, Thor having his arm around your waist. The flashes are more intense than they’ve ever been, and you have Thor to thank for that. Not only are they getting a picture of one of the most talented actresses in the world, they’re also getting pictures of one of the strongest beings in the universe. Thor stands to the side at one point, presenting you to the cameras. You smile at him before going full celebrity mode, and then it’s time for you to leave the photo portion, and head over to the video interviews. You’re guided by your team, landing interviews with E! and a few other outlets. When you begin talking to the E! Reporter, her eyes immediately get big at the sight of a literal God standing in front of her. “And look who we have here! Not only (Y/N), but Thor as well! What a power couple,” she says, and you laugh. “He has all the power here, I’m just his girlfriend.”
“My very talented and very amazing girlfriend. Do not let her humility fool you, she is equally as powerful as I, just in different ways.”
After getting shoved along to the paper and web interviews after that, you get to go inside of the event. You’re led to your seats, which are front row, and you both sit down. Your good friend is sitting right next to you, and you finally get to introduce her to Thor. Many of your coworkers approach you, actually, each one excited to meet your other-worldly boyfriend and talk to you about the awards you are up for along with them. After introducing him to multiple people, he looks at you with his eyebrows raised. “You were not lying when you said there would be a lot of noise,” he says, and you laugh. “Well, hey, at least it’s good noise. And not people getting shot or stabbed on a battlefield.”
“That is quite an honest statement.”
The awards start, and since Neil Patrick Harris is hosting again, it’s quite a wild ride. Jokes are being told left and right, and you can best believe he commented on you and Thor. You laugh at his jokes, occasionally hiding your face as Thor laughs and wraps his arm around you. The award you were up for wasn’t being presented until almost the end of the show, so you and Thor just sat and watched as your friends and colleagues got to accept their awards. “I am excited for your award,” Thor whispers to you, and you roll your eyes, punching him on the shoulder. “We don’t even know if it’s my award yet, Thor,” you inform him and he just grins. “You win every award in my eyes.” You immediately blush, hitting him on the shoulder again and causing him to laugh. After a few more awards are announced, Thor clears his throat, looking at you. “I am going to go use the restroom, I will return momentarily,” he tells you, placing a quick kiss on your cheek before you can even think about stopping him. He speed walks backstage, and you bite your lip. Your award is going to be announced soon, and you were nervous he wouldn’t make it back in time.
Your nerves were confirmed when you realized your award was about to be announced. Before you could even begin freaking out, though, a tall blonde walked out onstage to announce the award. “Thor?!” you ask, mainly to yourself, but the cameras got your confused expression as he walked up to the microphone center stage. “Acting is an art form like none other, having the skill to become a completely different person with a completely different life story from yours is a remarkable talent, and the women who are eligible for this award prove this. The women up for best actress in a leading role are…” Thor beings announcing the names, your name being last. He looks over in your direction with an endearing smile before announcing your nomination. “(Y/N) (L/N), Brooklyn Burning,” he says, and you smile as the applause sounds around you. He waits for the applause to die down completely before saying, “The Oscar is awarded to.”
He opens the envelope in his hands, reading it and immediately smiling from ear to ear. “The woman I love infinitely, (Y/N) (L/N)!” You cover your mouth, tears immediately beginning to well up in your eyes. Your friend pulls you into a hug, and you making your way to the stage. “You didn’t tell me you were presenting!” you say, wiping away a tear that managed to leak out of your eye. Thor smiles at you, “I’m sorry, my love. I wanted it to be a surprise.”
“Yeah, well I’m pretty damn surprised!” Thor laughs at your reaction, before pulling you in for a kiss while handing you your Oscar. This move caused the cheering to well up again, and you can’t help but smile. After giving your acceptance speech where you thank every person on the face of the planet who you care about, you head backstage. You immediately hug Thor, as he lifts you up off the ground. “I told you you would win, my love,” he says to you and you just smile, shaking your head. “I still cannot believe it. And I can’t believe my boyfriend gave the award to me!” you exclaim, holding the award in your hands and smiling like a madman. Thor pulls you in for a kiss yet again, and this time, your buddy Ellen snaps a picture of it. Needless to say, there’s a picture all over the internet of you holding an award in one hand while your other hand is cupping Thor’s cheek. “Stop trying, she wins.” was the caption Ellen used, and honestly, she’s right. Even if you didn’t win that award, you still had the best boyfriend you could ever have. The Oscar was just a bonus.

Top 25 Crazy Ex Girlfriend songs
I don’t know why I did this, but here are my top 25 songs from Crazy Ex Girlfriend (plus some honorable mentions) so now you have to read it. Well, you don’t have to but it’d be nice if you did.
Let’s get to it!
Tumblr media
25. The Cringe A good Monster Mash pastiche will just automatically earn a place in my heart. Plus those dresses are super cute! Best lyric/moment: That cringe dance can’t be beat.
24. Love's Not a Game This is one of the best group numbers in the entire show. Paula’s tapdancing solo alone earns it a spot on this list. Best lyric/moment:  I just talked to Jesus, and he said that it's cool 23. (Tell Me I'm Okay) Patrick When Rebecca says it feels like everyone else knows how to function like a normal person and she’s the only one who didn’t get the manual. I felt that. Best lyric/moment: I fully lose it every time I see the package playing the piano. 22. You Go First Rebecca and Paula’s relationship is the best written one on the show and this is one of the few songs where they duet (the only one that’s not a reprise?). I also have a weakness for 80s power ballads.  Best lyric/moment:  So go ahead and say you're kinda sorry / So i can say "oh no no no please" / Just like i've rehearsed
21. Let's Have Intercourse The concept of a love song that openly negs the subject for the entirety of it is brilliant and it’s perfectly executed. The dance number that goes along is also impressive and it’s filled with so many hilarious moments. Best lyric/moment: Stiff competition, but I have to give it to the opening words: Unfortunately, I wanna have sex with you. That, plus Nathaniel disinterestedly dropping the guitar on the ground really sets the tone.
20. The Miracle of Birth I realize the joke here is kind of cheap (gross-out humor about a fairly serious topic) but I appreciate it whenever Crazy Ex Girlfriend gets into the uglier side of the female experience (not that all women can or do get pregnant, or that everyone who gets pregnant is a woman, but you know what I mean). Donna Lynne Champlin has the voice of an angel and she looks gorgeous in this number. Best lyric/moment: When the last kid shows up in the hospital room, holding the placenta.
19. Trapped in a Car With Someone You Don't Wanna Be Trapped in a Car With Some of the songs on Craxy Ex Girlfriend skewer specific artists but this is the only one that goes through a band’s entire evolution from cheery start to experimental middle to sell-out finish. The concept of pairing it with a seemingly endless car ride means it works on multiple levels.  Best lyric/moment: Hum hum, I will rip off your mouth.
18. Put Yourself First I literally cannot remember a single Fifth Harmony song because whenever I hear the title of one, this song pops into my head instead. This kind of mainstream pop culture feminism presented in a sexy package is something that needs to be criticized and the fact that Crazy Ex Girlfriend is a very sex positive show means you trust it’s coming from the right place. Best lyric/moment:  So when dudes see you put yourself first / They'll be like, "Damn, you're hot, let's buy a house in Portland!"
17. Friendtopia Spice Girls is the first music act I can remember being really into so this holds a special place in my heart. The concept of using Girl Power (TM) to literally take over the world and rule as dictators is too perfect. Best lyric/moment: Czar of torture! 16. Gettin' Bi As a bi person, I am legally obligated to put this song on the list. I  also , as all bi people, have a huge weakness for upbeat 80s pop rock. The lyrics are great but what really sells this song is Pete Gardner’s unbridled enthusiasm. All coming outs should be so joyful! Best lyric/moment:  It's not a phase / I'm not confused / Not indecisive / I don't have the "gotta choose" blues.
15. The Sexy Getting Ready Song I saw the video for this song before I watched the show and it is what sold me on it. Again, I just love it when Crazy Ex Girlfriend gets into the ugly sides of femininity and the fact that women have to go through so much bullshit just to feel presentable (and that guys are largely unaware of that effort) is sad but also made hilarious in this song. Best lyric/moment: The guest rapper quitting a couple of bars in once he catches a glimpse of Rebecca’s bathroom.
14. Dream Ghosts Michael Hyatt has one of the best voices on the cast (rivalled only by Donna Lynne Champlin) and this song is the perfect showcase for her. Bonus points for the added commentary about women’s jobs being undervalued and therefor paid less. Best lyric/moment:  This girl is wondering / If she should terminate her pregnancy, just for the overwhelmingly joyful line delivery from Amber Riley 13. Settle for Me I mean, there’s a reason this is one of the most popular songs on the show. The setting, costumes and dance are all absolutely impeccable, Santino Fontana’s voice is smooth as butter, and the subject matter touches on the sad reality that sometimes you want someone so bad you don’t mind being their second choice. Best lyric/moment: Sugar jugs, I’m so bereft! / Demeaning terms are all that I have left / Of my masculinity
12. The First Penis I Saw My love for ABBA might have pushed this one higher than it would be for most but this song is a bop and they smoothly work in an impressive range of words that rhyme with ‘penis’. And again, Donna Lynne just sells the hell out any song she performs.  Best lyric/moment: When I finally noticed it, the sign in the background that says  “Suggestive Vegetables 50% Off” made me fucking lose it.
11. A Diagnosis I generally prefer the Crazy Ex Girlfriend songs where I can spot the musical influence but this is my big exception (well, one of two). After Rebecca hit her lowest point, it was genuinely wonderful to see her so hopeful again even if she might be pinning too much on the promise of a good diagnosis.  Best lyric/moment: I'm aware mental illness is stigmatized / But the stigma is worth it if I've realized / Who I'm meant to be, armed with my diagnosis
10. The End of the Movie My other big exception. I didn’t love this song the first time I heard it (mostly because I was still trying to recover from seeing Rebecca hook up with Greg’s dad) but it grew on me quickly. The wording in the chorus is a little awkward and rambling but that’s kind of the point - real life isn’t neat, it’s complicated and there’s not always a reason or rhyme.  Best lyric/moment: It's not some carefully crafted story / It's a mess, and we're all gonna die 9. Face Your Fears (Reprise) I was knocked on my ass when I heard the first notes and realized they were doing a reprise of a song we hadn’t heard since the third episode of the series. This song, more than most, shows the amazing storytelling potential a years-spanning musical can have and Rachel’s performance is amazing. Best lyric/moment: For the slightest chance at love, I'd gladly tear my life apart
8. Strip Away My Conscience I’m not sure how a song can be both hilarious and genuinely sexy at the same time but damn if Rachel didn’t pull it off. The lyrics are also some of the sharpest and most clever they ever wrote during the entire show’s run. Best lyric/moment: Since I can’t find it in me to choose just one line (they’re all so good!), I’m gonna go with the moment when the back-up dancers start throwing Rebecca’s clothes at Nathaniel in disgust as she strips and calls him a soul-sucking, corporate piece of trash. I lose it every time I see it!
7. Don't Be a Lawyer This song is a fucking bop and probably the one I listen to the most out of the entire catalog.  Best lyric/moment: There are so many other professions / That don't turn you into Jeff Sessions
6. We'll Never Have Problems Again Another bop! Rebecca and Josh have such great energy together and nowhere has it been more enjoyable than here, where they’re completely united in their aggressive denial of reality. Heather’s dancing is what really puts the cherry on top here. Best lyric/moment: They say obsession biologically lasts four years at most / But science doesn't apply to us
5. It Was a Shit Show I never bought into the Greg/Rebecca romance (until he returned, which I realize puts me into a minority, but it was a lot more enjoyable once it wasn’t as much of a toxic, slow-motion car wreck). It’s a testament to this song’s strength that it destroys me anyway. OG Greg couldn’t have gotten a better possible send off. Best lyric/moment:  This beautiful, heart-stopping, breathtaking, life-changing... (the unfinished final lyric gets me every single time!)
4. The Math of Love Triangles Rachel’s breathy Marilyn Monroe impression is just... *chefs kiss*. The set, the wardrobe, the back-up singers, the incredibly clever lyrics (that blow even Strip Away My Conscience out of the water) are all perfect but what really puts it over the top for me is that it works on so many levels. As someone pointed out, Rachel situates herself at the apex of a triad along with Marilyn and Madonna (triangles! triangles everywhere!), and Rebecca’s delighted, willfully ignorant persona squares with that of Marilyn Monroe herself, whose character in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes even admits that she’s much smarter than she lets on.  Best lyric/moment: Ooh, thanks for teaching me man math! You all deserve a kiss / Lady, we're all gay / We get nothing out of this
3. Let's Generalize About Men Scratch what I said earlier, I think this might be the song I listen to the most. The girl group is in top form here, they all look amazing and sound even better. You also have to love that in the middle of their tirade against men, they pause to assure themselves that gay men are different before generalizing about them as well. Best lyric/moment: Let's get super-lit/ And not admit/ This is a kind of primal ritual we need now and then
2. You Stupid Bitch Well this is painfully familiar. This song taps into something depressingly real and the execution is flawless - from Rebecca acknowledging at the beginning that she sings this song a lot, to the contrast of the beautiful sound and look of the number to the ugly subject material, to the way she encourages the audience to sing her self-flagellating insults back at her, sure she deserves it.  Best lyric/moment: You're a stupid bitch / And lose some weight
Honorable mentions: Ping Pong Girl (Best lyric/moment: She is so indifferent / It makes me want a tangible commitment) I Give Good Parent (Best lyric/moment: Your home's such a beautiful, comfortable space / Like my pussy, you two have wonderful taste) Fit Hot Guys Have Problems Too (Best lyric/moment: When they point at their hearts and sing But what about... this?, giving it a beat to sink in before they tear off their shirts) A Boy Band Made Up of Four Joshes (Best lyric/moment: With specialties in personality and sleep disorders / And love) The Group Mind Has Decided You're In Love (Best lyric/moment: That is not the correct dance language for this piece!)
1. Oh My God I Think I Like You Is this a surprise? I don’t know. All I know is I love this song with all my heart and it has me hooked from the first notes. The sound of this song is so sweet, it perfectly captures that feeling when lust and infatuation begin to bloom into love, and it does it with lyrics that are equal parts funny and filthy. When it comes down to it, this song just hits something within me that makes my heart flutter every time I hear it. It and You Stupid Bitch are the only songs from the show that capture me so completely on an emotional level but this one has the advantage of not being painful to listen to (though don’t get me wrong, painful is good in moderation).  Best lyric/moment: Is there spermicidal lubricant that can kill / The fluttering in my heart?

Top 15 favorite video games: part 2.
7. Bioshock
Tumblr media
I remember first reading about this game in the pages of Game Informer and being fascinated by the story and the environment of what was described. I had no idea how good it was until I launched up the game and finally took that first decent into Rapture. The claustrophobic environment, visual aesthetic of a dilapidated dystopia and the enemies being remnants of once good people were all an amazing experience. The story and characters were amazing, and the idea of an underwater city built to try and be free of any ideology or morality was fascinating, and finding out exactly how the city fell apart and collapsed under its own “greatness” was a very unique experience.
6. God of War (PS2)
Tumblr media
This game was a birthday present when I was 15 and I loved it, I love Greek mythology and I love action games, so this was an amazing gift. The opening of the game is one of the best I’ve ever played, and the boss fights are some of my all time favorites. The music in this game is incredible, and I love the accurate representation of the Greek gods being complete fucking assholes and ruining lives because they just don’t care. Kratos is a great anti-hero (or villain, ether one is fair) and the Blades of Chaos are a really unique video game weapon. The sequels are amazing but this one holds a special place in my heart.
5.   Devil May Cry 3
Tumblr media
Another birthday present, this one from the year before, this game was a very interesting experience for me; I’d never seen such a difficult game, or one so anime inspired. This game oozes goofy, over the top fun and demon slaying is always fun. The combos and weapons in the game are fantastic, and the story might be a big generic; but the game never takes itself seriously enough for that to be an issue. The characters in the game are great and Dante and Virgil being brothers who are enemies is a fun dynamic. This game also has some fantastic boss fights they really make you have to master your timings and attacks.
4. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Tumblr media
I fucking love Star Wars, I fucking love RPGs, and I fucking love good stories and characters; and this game has all of that. The story of this game is one of my favorites in anything, not just video games but all media, and the Revan twist is something that I didn’t see coming and really blew me away the first time I played this game. I’ve probably played through the story 7 or so times and I still love it, Bioware is at its best here and the character interactions and your decisions effecting everything in the game and you being able to ruin entire planets with your decisions really makes you feel like what you are doing is important to the galaxy. HK 47 calling everyone a “meatbag” is endlessly hilarious, and might be the first sassy Star Wars robot. I was at a con recently and got an autograph of Jennifer Hale (Bastila Shan) and its something very special to me in large part because of this game.
3. Mortal Kombat (2009)
Tumblr media
Mortal Kombat 9 was such an amazing experience when it first came out. The past 5 Mortal Kombat games had been 3D, and had really suffered in quality because of it. The stories and characters had become terrible and the franchise was dying. Then came Mortal Kombat 9, or just Mortal Kombat as its actually called. The first 2D game in the franchise since the good old days of UMK3 and Mortal Kombat Trilogy, it was a reboot of the franchise that still used everything that had come before to set up the story. Knowing the old games was a benefit to the twists and turns of the story and altered timeline, but not essential to it. This was also the re-invigoration of the tournament scene for the MK games, which was a very welcome return. The roster of this game is damn near perfect, with the dlc adding an old favorite, the only good character from Deadly Alliance, Freddy motherfucking Kreuger, a new character that was a lot of fun, and I had the PS3 version so I also had Kratos which was awesome. Everything in this game represented a return to form and a new beginning for a franchise that desperately needed it. Mortal Kombat X and 11 have both been fantastic as well, but I chose 9 because of not just it being a fantastic game, but what it did for the series.
2. Dark Souls
Tumblr media
I love dark fantasy and I love armor and weapons in video games, and this game has that as well as fantastic combat, and some amazing gothic horror as well. The bosses in this game are some of the best in any game and the game may be punishingly difficult, but the feeling of accomplishment when you finally get over some massive hurdle you were stuck on or finally slay a powerful boss that had been using your body as a punching bag is so incredibly satisfying. The sad state of the world in this game is also refreshing, instead of being some amazing savior sent to kill the big bad fucking up the world; your goal is ether to prolong the dying world for a little while longer, or end it and start something new. Killing gods that have been corrupted and used to be heroic adds a tragic twist to fighting bosses and makes killing them bitter sweet. I absolutely adore how you can make different characters and create builds around certain spells and weapons and I really wish more games would incorporate systems like that, even if they aren’t exactly balanced in any Dark Souls game. I also love how when you get past the opening area you can pretty much go where ever you want, the level design is almost perfect, with every location being somewhat connected to the next, often times looping in on each other.
2. (tie) Dragon Age: Origins
Tumblr media
The second Bioware game on this list, it has all the roleplaying and great character writing of KotOR and more, a deep universe that they created; this game was in development for a long time to create a rich lore and new twist on fantasy tropes. The world really feels fleshed out and the characters feel like real people, with issues and hang ups and oddities that make them not just archetypes like most games have. Making decisions that effect characters and your companions can often be tough because you really care about what happens to them and how they feel, and how the world sees you. The gameplay isn’t perfect, its an odd mix of turn based and real time, but it still works pretty well. I put Dark Souls and Dragon Age in the same spot because I love them both for the same yet opposite reasons, if someone could take the roleplaying and world building of Dragon Age and combine it with the stats and combat and boss fights of Dark Souls it would create the perfect game for me.
1. The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion
Tumblr media
I absolutely loved playing this game when it first came out, and I really wish I could get it to work on my PC so I could relive the glory that is this game. Skyrim is probably the more obvious pick for most people, but Oblivion was my first Elder Scrolls and first Bethesda game; and Oblivion has better rpg mechanics and a better story in my humble opinion. I love the Dark Brotherhood questline in this game more than any other questline in any game ever, its so fucking good. The game looks like shit graphically now, but back when it came out it was gorgeous, and I remember the first time I played it on an HD tv I was blown away. The rich world and the big name actors being in it was a real treat, and having Sir Patrick Stewart play the king really gave that character the gravitas and importance that was needed to establish a character quickly. Sean Bean being his son was also fantastic, and brings this list pretty much full circle because of him being in Goldeneye. The armor and weapon designs are really good for the most part, and I love collecting all the Daedric artifacts and creating havoc with them. I still get excited when I hear the music from this game, and its orchestral quality really adds to the epic feeling of the game. There’s no one stealing sweet rolls or arrows to the knee in this one ether.
There are a lot of other games that I love and that were hard to leave off this list, but its pretty long as it is; and I’m sure eventually new games will take the place of some of these.

TTYCT Kitchener Write-Up
ALRIGHTY YALL my first TTYCT show. We had ice side seats to the right of the aisle where tessa starts for 4 minutes. I SAT RIGHT INFRONT OF THE FAM JAM. LIKE I CAN SEE MYSELF IN STALKER PHOTOS OF THE FAM. #famous Anyways it was Cara, Alma, and Kate! Lol tell me how I didn’t notice until I had my mom taking my pic with my Virtue Moir flag and then I looked up and saw them. Haha! No I didn’t watch them, I was trying to watch the show and stay composed despite being INCHES FROM THE ICE. During intermission, they were leaning in close talking to each other.
Anyways so I loveee the Oh Canada intro I thought that was such a nice touch. You can collectively hear the cast singing along with the crowd. My patriotic heart soared.
Scott gave his flag to three little girls that were in the stands, he ran out on his toe picks and tossed it up to them.
Opening number was super fun and dancey. Interesting choice of costume lol! Kaitlyn and Andrew skated their FD and it was so gorgeous they skated it really well. It’s nice to see them using material that suits their style. Kaetlyn totally crushed black swan—wow what a gorgeous program! I was really looking forward to With or Without you and it definitely lived up to when I saw it at Nats in Vancouver. My mom LOVED Chiddy’s Phantom number since she’s a huge POTO fan. I just love seeing Chiddy skate clean and care free.
MOULIN ROUGGGGEEEE. Okay the intro was so good. I was avoiding videos before my show so I didn’t know what was going to come up. It was SO COOL. I like seeing them come on and get into character. Scott’s jealous face during the first half is so on point— clenched jaw crazy look in his eyes. And of course Tessa just crushing it too. SCOTT SANG THE ENTIRE COME WHAT MAY. LIKE EVERY SINGLE WORD. (Cue me in my head thinking of the line from the doc ‘when I hear that music I think Tessa’). Also they have to do the hug like that after don’t they?! They’re so settled into this program I feel like they could skate it with their eyes closed.
THE WAY WE WERE. Get out the tissues friends. From the opening monologue to watching the cast stand there ARM AND ARM. I can’t. OH when they skated out from the curtains Scott was giving T a one hand neck massage. She was slotted under his arm while he was rubbing her neck and then they joined the group. My mom was telling me in the car that the whole thing made her teary eyed. Watching them skate that clip of Mahler was a true feel moment (I wish I actually had memory of watching it at SOI 2010 however my 14 year old self did not store the memory ITS NOT FAIR. Additionally my mom claims we watched their 2010 Mahler skate on tv and cried watching them on the podium AND I HAVE ZERO RECOLLECTION).
Post intermission! I don’t remember the order so I’ll just say my comments in random order. The hip number was super fun. I just sat their smirking watching tessa rub her hands through his hair and hip nudge him to the ground. Also the lean part is A++ Tessa looks real comfy there.
I loved Weapo’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody, I know MF choreographed that and it was so pretty on them. Also how does Kaitlyn skate with her hair down like that. Also when she does her balance lift she just climbs him like a tree, blade one up then blade two haha it’s cool to watch up close.
Patrick skating to Eric’s piano playing was really nice. Eric is really talented! I bet that’s probably a thrill for him to get to play for a crowd. And of course just chiddy being chiddy. Gorgeous effortless skating!
4 MINUTESSS. Tessa came out to the aisle next to me, three seats over. She’s in character and walking the walk the second she steps into the floor section. Yeah, Scott tripped on the carpet and played it off. The whole routine was just great. I’m always in awe of how comfortably they can own the stage and embody the choreo. It was a bit ‘toned down’ than what I’ve seen in gif and vids. I watched extra hard for the moments people have pointed out but it wasn’t as good as the previous shows. I have two sets of videos of it because I turned my phone on and recorded it with the camera on my lap. And my mom recorded it on her phone.
The girls vs boys number! The girls won first of all. SCOTT FUCKING SKATED RIGHT AT ME WITH HIS THUMBS UNDER HIS SUSPENDERS AND HIS OPEN SHIRT AND I ALMOST DROPPED MY PHONE. If my jaw was on the floor I’m not surprised. The girls were so sassy and Tessa channeled the character so hard. She was twirling her hair when the boys came out and rolling her eyes when they started to skate. Such a performer, love her. In the end of one of the girls sets had her pausing right in front of me and I was GRACED with her sassy queen presence.
I can’t even remember what the number is called but the one with Tessa in the flowered bomber jacket. Yeah I want that jacket. Kaitlyn was skating with Scott in-front of us for a bit. Haha omg, walking out of the show my mom was like “I don’t like the way Kaitlyn looks at Scott. She’s looking a little intensely. That’s Tessa’s man”. It was cute to watch Ts do their little Latin steps and the Latin lift too. Every time I see that lift I wonder if they’ve ever hurt Scott’s neck in practice learning it. For the flashmob part Kaetlyn was the skater that came to our section and I got up right away to do the flashmob with her. It was a cute addition to the show.
I LOVED Sweet Dreams. The way they skate in sync is so aesthetically pleasing. Also the costumes were so slick and the sunglasses were great. From the side I was on, tessa was nearest to me and scott behind her and it was the perf angle to watch both of them it was great.
When Tessa came out in that Diamonds cat suit. OH MY GOSH, it’s soooo stunning. It sparkles under the lights so much. I really enjoyed the acoustic intro with Tessa and Scott it was nice and slow and intimate. To use a tessa word, it was the anthesis of what Stay was. Stay was angst and tension and longing where this is like calm and intimate and relaxing.
The voice overs of Tessa and Scott during the group diamonds was really sweet. I also like how the program was choreographed how it transitions so smoothly into each skater. I didn’t see how tessa fell I just saw her on the ice and everyone trying to avoid her. She was laughing so hard and got up quick. (I got the ask about the parents laughing. I think they did but I don’t remember).
I think that’s everything but I’m also half asleep. If you have questions, comments, want to yell at me my inbox is open.
I have to go through all my videos and my moms videos and pics and then post everything. It’ll come soon but no instant promises.
I’m also in St Cats next weekend with @makeitcountmeggy holla at me if you’re going !

A big ol gay rant about cailtyn jenner
So I'm watching a Nicki Swift video and the topic of Caitlyn Jenner comes up.. now make sure you read my entire post before jumping on my ass about this. I'm also going to try to be as correct and respectable as possible.
I was this young little closeted 15 year old bisexual girl when gay marriage was legalized. I was so happy for my LGBTQ+ fam, but I celebrated in silence, still not out the in the open about my sexuality yet. At the same time, Caitlyn had not transitioned yet and was still living as Bruce.
You see, Bruce Jenner was against gay marriage and the LGBTQ+ for a very very long time. And also, you guessed it, a homophobe.
But then time passes, and Bruce comes out as Caitlyn. I was very happy for her, wishing her well on her transition...
What gets me is, Caitlyn soon became a massive face for LGBTQ+ rights... the same person who was activally against LGBTQ+.
As for LGBTQ+ rights, Hollywood forwent the masses of non-het celebrites like Ellen DeGeneres, Lily Tomlin, Anderson Cooper, Jim Parsons, Neil Patrick Harris, to name a few. An already 'out' amount of celebrites who came out and fought before being LGBTQ+ was as widely accepted. Instead, they picked Caitlyn to represent all of us (not just trans)
So why is Caitlyn, a previous homophobic republican who doesn't agree with gay marriage, get to not only be the face of Trans rights, but LGBTQ+ rights?
I mean... What about Gigi Gorgeous, Jazz Jennings, Laverne Cox, Chaz Bono, (again, just to name a few), why dont they get to be the face of Trans rights and LGBTQ+ rights when, after all, they have ALWAYS been supportive of the LGBTQ+ unlike Caitlyn.
Do people not see that? We have trans but also LGBTQ+ celebrites who have been fighting for rights for so long, but a fucking Kardashian comes in and suddenly things have changed.
Bruce was a homophobe, and EVEN AFTER TRANSITIONING, Caitlyn is as well. Seriously, watch the Ellen interview.
So when someone says they can't stand Caitlyn Jenner, don't assume that they are a transphobe.
Because I, an LGBTQ+ member, fucking hate that Hollywood has appointed an 'ex'- bigot to be the face of not just trans rights, but LGBTQ+ rights as well.
Because Caitlyn Jenner tried to persuade LGBTQ+ members to vote for Donald Trump, just for Agent Orange try to erase trans people, tell trans people what they can and can't do, and the list goes on.
Because Caitlyn did damage to the LGBTQ+ before she transitioned and then joined in after trying to knock us down.
Look, I don't hate Caitlyn because shes trans. I'd hate her whether she was trans, gay, cis, het, you name it. I hate her because she became the face of a community that she once tried to take down.
Caitlyn Jenner was fighting AGAINST the LGBTQ+ before she came out.
That isn't fair.
Hetero-Hollywood decided it was, without taking her past into consideration. They didn't take into consideration how that would affect the LGBTQ+, but more importantly the trans people she is suddenly 'representing'.
Seriously, do research on people before you decide who they're going to represent. Bruce was a threat to the LGBTQ+, so is Caitlyn.
Let's make the face of Trans and LGBTQ+ rights a person who has been fighting the entire time. not working against.
