ADDITIONAL NOTES: i will be using pics and other media which would fit situations and make the smau-ness of this piece a little more realistic and entertaining when i believe it’s appropriate/fitting to the plot (as i've done with my other smau). having said that, with regard to inclusivity, i just want to put it out there that they will not necessarily be aimed as the exact descriptions to fit a supposedly generic reader nor will they be representative of a specific race or color. it’s all for the simple fact of media availability, for funsies and the fact that i don’t exclusively write in consideration of those aspects when using reader-insert characters unless i specify it. thank you for understanding.
A/N: I have another version of this story somewhere on the internet with different characters, and I thought, why not make it a Sukuna smau. So excited for this! This'll probably come out this weekend lol or the next if push comes to shove.
“I can't get over the shoes. She literally found a 2020s version of Diana's shoes. What in the Single White Female.” Is her obsession “healthy”/ intentional or is she straight up (pardon my language) batshit crazy??
No, this isn't healthy. This isn't healthy in the least.
It's one thing if her outfit was just a white top + white pants + blazer, because that's a very stylish and on-trend look. Which is part of the problem with Diana; she was a) a very stylish lady who created and/or participated in a lot of fashion trends and b) her "era" was the first time there was wall-to-wall coverage of how any member of the royal family wore dressed so her fashion is incredibly well-documented.
And because of both those factors, it's inevitable that Kate and Meghan would eventually wear outfits similar to outfits Diana has worn - for instance:
This happens because while fashion trends are cyclical, classic styles (white with polka dots) and classic color combinations (red and purple) endure regardless. This is what her blazer + white outfit look had the potential to be: a coincidental fashion trend.
Where Meghan and Kate get into trouble with Diana's fashion is when their outfits are exact copies of Diana's outfits, which makes it look costumey.
Kate has managed to stay out of that "costume" realm by making nods to Diana but still keeping her own sense of style/self:
But that doesn't mean Kate has totally avoided the costume realm. She does have outfits that make you side-eye her as well, but Kate is largely able to avoid the Diana comparisons by being able to point to these similarities as being part of her Kate's personal style: coat dresses and patterned dresses, which we see her wear regularly and consistently.
Unlike Meghan. We know this classic, traditional, British look isn't her own personal style or fashion sense because of what we normally see her in: neutrals, virtue-signalling messages, and more laid-back/casual. So when she does pull out a look eerily Diana-like, it becomes more costumey and much harder to forgive. It looks intentional. Obsessive, one might say.
So getting back to the original point - Meghan's unhealthy obsession with mimicking Diana's wardrobe. What makes her white outfit + blazer choice unhinged is having the same (or similar) loafer-style shoes. If she had literally worn any other kind of shoe - her usual 6in stilettos or flats or sneakers - it wouldn't be an issue.
But that she (or someone close to her) decided to find that specific shoe and wear it with that specific outfit? It's intentional, borderline obsessive. And not in a healthy way. It's not a "oops, we wore the same outfit" like this:
It's not a "haha Kate gets style inspiration from Diana" goof like this:
It isn't a "sweet nod to Diana" like all the times Meghan has worn her jewelry either:
It's "wow, that's a little extreme" because it's shoes. And I'm sorry but when you're copying someone's shoes from a specific outfit, that's not a coincidence.
Meghan thinks she's being clever when she does things like this. We know she likes the SEO boost she gets when she links herself to Diana. We know she likes any/all kinds of attention, good or bad. But honestly when she gets to that level of detail concerning Diana's outfits, it just makes her look certifiable. It also makes a lot of people worry about Archie and Lili and not in the way that Meghan wants us to think of her children.
Venonat is honestly a pretty underrated Pokemon. I really like how it's a bug-type, but it's an ambiguous little ball of fur with compound eyes and antennae instead of a specific kind of insect. On top of that, it's pretty cute despite the non-conventional design, what with its little hands and big 'ol eyes. The colors are also nice, contrasting bright pink accents with a dark purple base. No complaints here.
I don't know why, but a lot of butterfly and moth Pokemon tend to be pretty bland with only a few exceptions, and unfortunately Venomoth isn't one of them. What made Venonat unique in my eyes was the simple abstract design—so when it evolves into a fairly normal moth, it looses most of the interest it had and doesn't really replace it with anything notable. It is known for scattering poison with its scales, which is interesting, but that doesn't factor into the design—in fact, nothing in the design really even suggests it's a poision-type.
There's a common conspiracy theory that Venomoth and Butterfree were switched during Gen 1's development. For the record, the entire Caterpie line have correctly numbered internal IDs, pointing to them being added all at once; however, they could've always been switched back when they were designed on paper, long before they were programmed into the game.
That said, a lot of Gen 1 designs do just share similar elements. I do think that it's entirely possible that the similarities are just sheer coincidence; like, just look at Dragonite and Charizard sharing the same color palette, or how many lines have the exact same eye shape. Don't get me wrong, we can't know for certain either way; but I do find it annoying how people insist that the lines had to have been swapped, which shows very little understanding of Gen 1's development, especially when it's argued that the switch was somehow accidental.
(If you really want to make things confusing: Venonat's sprite was downscaled at some point, indicating that it originally wasn't even supposed to evolve. Also, some early Venomoth art shows it being blue with multiple yellow spots on its wings.)
ANYWAY, I only point this out because A) people will bring it up if I don't, and B) regardless if the theory is true or not, Venonat and Venomoth have a lot more in common than people seem to realize. The long fur off of Venonat's head becomes the spikes on Venomoth's head, the hands are still clutched to the abdomen, they both have fangs, and they're both furry. I don't think that Venomoth doesn't fit as Venomoth's evolution or anything; I just think Venomoth is merely boring compared to it.
Overall, Venonat's pretty solid, but Venomoth is relatively boring—I think the best thing that could be done for this line is regionals. I'd almost suggest just doing what Galarian Meowth does by making a regional Venonat that keeps with the more unique body shape; though then again, I'd feel kind of bad if Venonat got forgotten. Regardless, this line definitely feels like it could be revisited to make it more memorable.
These r random as perusal lol. I am truly a ✨slut✨ for this man. So here r some random Modern!AU takes that I can see happening. Hope yall enjoy. All r fluff and crack.. 🎨 I feel like Ben is a very "anti-toxic masculinity" kinda man. He has and will call out his brothers if he sees some shady suss shit. He had MANY talks with Anthony about not having to always be all macho macho man. I genuinely think Ben is the only one (besides Kate of course) that can get Anthony about his feelings. I also feel like he takes great care in making sure Colin and Gregory don't grow up thinking feelings = weakness.
🎨 His favorite flowers are poppies, peonies, and carnations to paint. Like he loves the little details in these flowers. When you found this out, you surprised him with a big beautiful bouquet of peonies and poppies, and he nearly cried. A week later he hung up an original painting over your bed. (omg this is so cute)
🎨 As we know our sweet Ben is a man of culture, so I feel like this man has seasonal tickets to some form of the arts. Whether it be the ballet, opera, plays, or musicals, this man loves it all. He also has a ticket plug (litterly like a w33d dealer)
🎨 We all know he can handle his liquor, but i feel like modern! Ben would be a liiiitttllle bit of a st0ner if not complete supporter of all legalization of it. I mean come on the man got h!gh in the show and painted a beautiful painting so I feel like he definitely uses it when he has art block.
🎨 He only has Facebook, Instagram, and a Vsco. Vsco and Insta purely for work. I feel like this is something Ben and Luke (Ben’s actor) have in common. I feel like he would appreciate having little to no social media presence. He has the “if i want you to know whats going on I’ll just tell you” mentality. Not in a pretentious way though, he isn’t a complete hater (although he doesn’t get influencers at all) he just likes his privacy.
🎨 He definitely leans more to the minimal style when it comes to his home decore. He loves color and nicknacks, but it’s more of just things that are more sentimental and not just cute.
🎨 Millennial coded humor. That’s it. It’s almost a little unsettling.
🎨 He is very well read. Not on the level of Eloise, but he definitely can hold himself in a debate. He definitely has a home library with the classics.
🎨 He loves a sappy romance movies / romcoms. Oh my god it’s his guilty pleasure. I’m talking cried at the end of the Notebook, wants to recreate at some point the parachute scene from Pearl Harbor (iykyk), lost his breath when rose enters the ball room at the end in Titanic, etc etc etc.
🎨 He has fucking chapsticks everywhere. In every drawer, three of his messenger bag at all times, to a nightstand, every little nook and cranny basically. Has a deep hatred for cracked lips, and something tells me his lips can crack easily.
so, I've been thinking. Ink has his vials and everything that are named and let him feel emotions he can't naturally feel bc he is soulless. BUT. Let's remember how souls worked originally in the Undertale game. They're divided into 7 (or possibly more) categories:
Determination, patience, justice, integrity, bravery, perseverance and kindness.
And they're all divided into different colors. And it just so happens that inks vials that let him feel emotions are also colored in different colors. So, you can see what I'm leading up to. Inks vials are actually soul traits and not emotions !!
'oh, but ink has the pink vial!! What about that one?? That one doesn't have a soul trait !!' well, we may have not even seen all the types of souls in the Undertale universe. Maybe they're all different in humans. It's up to ur interpretation. It can be motivation, curiosity, composure, whatever!
Now, why would this make sense? Well, first of all ink is a soulless being so if there is no base for him to feel his emotions, (which is love and hope in the case of monsters), so he has to create this base that actually allows him to start feeling. And, this means that ink can actually form complex emotions and feelings based on these traits! He has control, but not entirely. For example, if he drinks determination (red) during a debate or conversation, that dt will form into whatever his intention is. On the contrary, if he drinks red during a fight, he'll be more prone to be determined to win the fight, for example. This is much more complex and interesting than just 'red is rage and anger (which is what most people think it is) so when he drinks it he will feel angry and attack and scream at everyone in sight'. I'm not saying it's incorrect or a bad hc, I just think that making them soul traits instead of emotions would open up a whole base for ink to be expanded on and actually form a personality in a way that makes sense. His actions will be guided by what vial he has drank but in a deeper way than just on a superficial emotional level.
So yeah, short rant about this little hc!! What do you guys think, does this make sense? Also, Here's a lil snippet I made when I hyperfixated on a sketch and forgot to get up for the entire day, and my mom was asking herself if she should get me out from my trance or not :P (but it's the star sanses instead of me)
While I scream into the void of not finishing any art, have this silly oc interaction of Dandy and Will cause Will's hands are huge and I couldn't stop thinking about how tiny he'd make Dandy's hands look in comparison.
All That's Left follows two journalists and their friends in post-apocalyptic United States as they travel from the fallen east coast megalopolis Opportunity back to Los Angeles, crossing through a harsh wasteland overrun with zombies— only to find out that there is a lot more life left than what the protected cities want them to believe.
