Okay. Consider. Nikolai has songtives. We love Will Wood. A lot of his songs remind us of Nikolai. Both his facade and what’s behind it. The pets Nikolai wishes to be free from. So we think Nikolai would love Will Wood, maybe listen to him as he found music he could relate to for once, but also as a reminder of what he needs to push away.

Fast forward a bit, Nikolai ends up splitting songtives. Some possible ones we think would be likely Nikolai would split from are “Yes, to Err is Human, So Don’t Be One,” “Cotard’s Soltion,” “2econd 2ight 2eer,” “LaPlace’s Angel (Hurt People? i had a dream where i had this portable tv that was for some reason touchscreen it was the size of a tissue box and the layout of the tv looked like a gameboy and there was a channel called “len kagamine” which im assuming just aired songs with len in them so i clicked the channel and the tv started playing gigantic otn by giga also there were channels that aired ghost and pals songs but they were really glitchy so the channels names just looked like “distortionist” “appetite” i thought i would share this with you guys

"the distortionist" by ghost and pals fits Helen so well

we dont know if once entering the mirror she broke it (mag 047), but if we interpret like she did (which can be seen as a big stretch, i will admit) the song fits almost perfectly: while she is a victim of distortion, the Helen that is left is no longer her, and although she does help the main crew throught seasons 4 and 5, she is not doing that with no ill intent. its all just a facade for her lies. most lyrics can be her telling the archivist her last words, her excuseon why she shouldnt be obliterated by the ceasless watcher.

"In all this madness, it's madness Oh-ho, it's sickening, it's sickening You know it's unfair, it's unfair How you distorted my reflection You know it's too late"

could be her interpretation of what happened to her the second time she was in the corridors and the moment she opens her own door for the first time.

"You're lost in a world of funhouse mirrors, twisted for eternity Bending light in a way that shows refraction of hypocrisy"

just her first encounter with the corridors.

could be Jon saying his last words to her and the first time this lyric appeares can be how she tells him that he cant do anything in her own domain, and:

could be Jon knowing there are no dire consequences for destroying Helen, which also circles back to how Helen freed Jon from Micheal in her first appearance as the distortion

anyway thank you for reading through my ramblings i just think its really neat whenever songs fit certain characters/situations and had to share. id love to hear if you have anything to add. also i know that you're not really into tma as you were a few months ago and i know you did playlists regarding the fears but i cant seem to find them so i apologise if you added this one already and did an analysis for a possible interpretation but it has not left for a quite a bit now

I agree on almost every point, except for the last one - I would argue that it's in fact still Helen, trying to convince Jon, that it's in her very nature to distort and lie, and that he, or anybody on their level (watchers) can't be mad or judgemental at her for potentially having ill intent (she so does).

Similarly to this she also would use:

Like, only way Jon was able to kill her so fast, was due to her accidentally burping out a genuine lie, that was not in any way distorted or concealed, nor cleverly and nicely folded into paranoia. It could as well be plain truth to him, and the lens that he was looking through.

4. The most dramatic thing that happened to Katie is that Kady (being her other identity) was starting to go insane and dragging Katie with her. This lead to Katie who first murderer her 2 younger brothers while the house was on fire because the fire triggered her. Yea... parents were no happy but they're dead now!

16. A song that remind me of Katie and Kady is actually Amygdala's Rag Dolls. It just... shows really well how Katie is being controlled by Kady. The Distortionist works well for them too. Chattering lack of Common sense as well. These are all Ghost and Pals songs.

18. Kady isn't scared of anything, she has no reason to be. Katie is also not scared of literally anything but is just scared that she will be deemed useless at some point by the Decepticons.

19. Stone wall. Katie deals with Kady still trying to drive her insane and manipulate her and just be a bitch to Katie. This helped Katie become a literal stone cold wall who doesn't give a shit about anyone or herself. Just does what she needs to, to survive.

A bit of a weird one, if you're unfamiliar with Vocaloid, but The Distortionist by Ghost and Pals is... an entire experience. It's a raving, moving corrupt circus-vibe that makes you feel like the world is spinning around you. It's also an artistic masterpiece. Ghost outdid themselves.

What are your opinions on Ghost's old OCs (eg. Poppy, Macy, The Queen of Teeth, Fall, basically anything that predates Communications)? Do you have any headcanons about them? Do you prefer them to Ghost's new OCs? Would you want to see a sort of remake with those characters? share yo thoughtsss

I'm okay with the ghostiep and marzmitzi characters. I don't interact with ghost anyways so the dni thing doesn't really matter to me and I certainly dont mind if ghostiep and marzmitzi fans interact with me.

Also, I'm not like an expert on the ghost timeline. In my mind, the ghost eras are separated like: everything before communications is ghostie/marz, communications up to the 2020/2021 break is ghost and pals to me, and then everything afterwards is GHOST. Idk if the distinction between ghost and pals and GHOST is really a fandom wide thing, but I like to make it, because, to me, there's a notable difference, but some people may disagree with that and that's okay 👍

Um. That's all to say that I don't really know a whole lot about the ghostiep and marzmitzi eras. I got into the gnp fandom around 2019, so that's the era I'm most familiar with. There are definitely songs I think are interesting. I like Mad Psychology, Crazy Town, Dance with the Dead. I also really like Fall. I saw ship art of them and Teatime from the Distortionist once and its my favorite image ever. And obv the original Chattering is better. But I don't really have much to say about any of them lol sorry. Wish I had something more interesting to say.

Answering your question abt how I feel abt them compared to ghosts newer ocs. I'm kinda a hater of everything new ghost has made. I would rank it worst to best as: ghosts new ocs, marz/ghostie, then ghost and pals. I don't really think the marz/ghostie characters were like super fleshed out which is why I rank them lower than gnp, but if they had something more going for them they'd probably be equal to the gnp characters.

Um and idrk if I'd want to see a remake of any marz/ghostie stuff. As I said before, I really don't like anything new ghost has made. I think the thing about the marz/ghostie characters that people like is the uniqueness of them and the style ghost had in that era. Ghost's style is so much different now, and frankly pretty bland, that I think if ghost remade any of their older stuff it would just flat out suck. They already remade Chattering and Spider on the Wall and I don't think either of those remakes have as much charm as the originals.

Um anyways this is getting long. Sorry I didn't really have much to say abt the characters themselves. I'm sure I would like them if I knew more about them. It's just the nature of any marz/ghostie characters that the lore is hidden on the dark web so it's kinda hard to learn unless you find someone knowledgeable.

I can say that so far for the au, my favorite part has been developing the characters and traumatizing them ,as well as giving them their pasts and traits that may or may not be incredibly different from the game, due to me already making this au back in MAY (I'm already needing to change so much), but yeah! I can say that my favorite part is working with the characters themselves and backstories
