Pairing: Ash (self-insert)/Basch fon Ronsenburg

Word Count: Almost 800.

Warnings: suggestive if you squint, literally just them making out, takes place a year after the game, vague ff12 spoilers

Synopsis: Unfortunately so, not even being a married woman could save Ash from the responsibility of being the Flame of Rabanastre. And yet, in times of peace, the distance between her and her husband felt farther than ever. With enough nagging from her friends and comrades, Ash takes the journey to reunite with her husband. And clearly, her knight in shining armor missed her just as much as she missed him.

The Arcadian silks are smooth and soft against Ash's bare back as she lies down against the back, letting Basch climb on top of her with ease. Ash makes herself comfortable against the cushioned pillows. Her hair was down, a halo of black curls that Basch had been so eager to feel once again. After all, it wasn't often they had time for themselves since the war ended, so all the time they had together was savored.

Ash's hands grasp at the sheets,

"Now these... These are nice."

"Aren't they?"

Basch's voice is deep and rough, and it's clear that the last thing he's focused on is the look of the damn sheets.

"You look beautiful with the red as your canvas."

Ash could never get enough of him, and she never planned to. The ring on her finger was but a physical representation of a promise that was always there, even when Basch was behind bars for two years. Still, despite it all, Ash thinks to herself that she was the luckiest woman in all of Ivalice to have such a view all to herself.

Ash humors his words with a soft smirk. Her fingers trail up from the red, silken sheets up his arm. Her touch is gently, her nails just dragging along his scarred skin and muscle to eventually rest her hand upon his cheek. She takes a moment to truly admire him.

They were older now, so much older than they were when they meet, but blue-gray eyes like a perfect storm always stayed the same. His hair was shorter now, in an attempt to look like someone who he never truly was. To the world, Basch was dead. To her, Basch was her life.

"It is rather exquisite bedding... Though I would expect nothing less from the Emperor's loyal protector."

Through the thin, white curtains blowing softly from the window, there was little but the moonlight illuminating them. Ash liked it that way—It reminded her of old times. Nothing but them and the sand beneath the stars, the sounds of quiet gasps and whispers of love the only thing either of them could care about. Archades wasn't the deserts she called home, but Basch's arms were home enough.

A flame needs a spark, and that's exactly what he was to her.

Ash leans her head back with a soft moan as her partner kisses her neck. If this is what happened whenever she got out of Rabanastre for a month, perhaps she had better become Archadia's Flame instead, always within arms reach of her loyal knight.

Basch leans in to pepper kisses along Ash's jaw, the poke of his short beard a contrast to the soft, feather-like touches of his lips.

Ash can feel him chuckle,

"I am much more than that, my lady. Allow me to show you."

They had been lovers for years, friends for even longer. It's not heated passion or lust that brought them together on that quiet night in the castle, but rather the feeling of two lovers reuniting. And Ash has no complaints.

There is nothing quick or hungry about the way Basch kisses her. Basch does not just kiss her. Basch worships Ash. Her body is one that he knows all too well. It was one that he had known when he was so much more than the man he was now, one that he had known whenever he was held in chains in Nalbina, and one that he had known in the hot, Dalmascan nights that left him red and exhausted.

Every inch of her is something that he knows so intimately, so he takes his time kissing her, feeling her as if to memorize her with his lips once more.

How could she? She had spent so many nights in Rabanastre dreaming night and day about her husband's arms only to realize that, as always, the real thing is so much better. Basch's lips trail down to her clavicle, kissing and sucking soft bruises that he knew Ash loved. The sweet melody of her breath and soft whispers of I love you only serving as motivation for him to continue. After all, it was a knight's job to serve his lady.

His hand trails to the side to meet hers, their fingers interlocking in a way that only affirmed the belief that, yes, they truly were made for each other. Ash simply closes her eyes and sighs, basking in the feeling.

Perfect in every single way is what Basch was to her.

Wallter is... also a dynabloxian, however he had been preserved in ice when he was rather young and had been uncovered by ro-bio scientists. Hi everyone!! Now that I have less WiPs, I can start working on more stuff :D So, I decided to share some more infos about this collab!!

Here's a little QnA that nobody asked for, but can be useful:

-Can platonic/familial F/Os participate?

Of course!! I mostly have romantic F/Os, but I have a few sons and friends I can use :3 (the adopted children are listed, but not the friends, you can ask me directly if you wish to know). The settings doesn't have to be romantic, it can be anything as long as it's not innapropriate!! Even fanmade family members of my F/Os are accepted (like if you created a sibling for Donny for example and would like to use it) ^^

-Can I participate if I'm under 18?

Even though the collabs will be SFW, I would be more comfortable working with people over 18, so no.

-Can we do a collab with a F/O we're sharing?

That's a bit complicated: I am not super comfortable sharing, but also I'm not against the idea of a collab about a poly dynamic (as long as it doesn't contain any rivality, I don't want to draw my S/I fighting with someone else's over a shared F/O), so I'd say it depends (I'm quite jealous and protective over my f/os but I'm trying to be better). Can be fine if my romantic F/O is your platonic F/O tho :3

-Do we have a deadline?

I'd say 3 monthes? I can be really slow depending on the style I'm using, so I really don't want to force others to rush their part!! Plus technical difficulties (that I'm sure will happen, knowing my luck lol) can happen, so really the 3 monthes "deadline" can be extented ^^ We just can't share our parts publicly as long as the final piece isn't finished.

-Are non-human couples okay?

Of course :3 I mostly have human F/Os but that doesn't stop anything !!

-My F/O comes from a controversial media, can I still participate?

If it's controversial just because of the creator, then I don't care, you can participate!! As long as your ship isn't problematic, it's fine for me.

-What about evil or slasher F/Os?

Those are perfectly fine. I do not count them as problematic as long as it's not a fetishized abusive relationship. Please read the rules about this.

— having small wings at start, them either growing after years to somewhat resemble dragon hybrids wings or still staying small. Haha. Teenage sized wings. ( I'd think that of an Andean condor wing span of 10 foot. )

— seeing him missing scales around certain points in his wings that never grew back bc of being plucked by force for money and value by the Vietnam soldiers during the capture scenes.

— having his wings being poked through with enough force to rip the leather/skin of the inner wings and leaving him unable to fly even if they grew enough to support his body weight. ( Imo Most modern dragon hybrids can't fly today unlike in the ancient times. )

— or bc they wanted to torture him or see what he would possible do bc they had never seen or hardly had seen a dragon hybrid within military ranks.

— Also having his wings tied behind his back separately or with his hands. Bending them and/or at least making them sore as fuck.

— Leaving him rather disabled to a dragon hybrids standard if they were broken and healed incorrectly or being bend too much due to the restrains and now it's painful enough for him not to use them ( I'd think the wings are one of the most important things to dragon hybrids. Also while the wings are sturdy the bones are still hollow and snap easy if enough force should be applied )

— not to forget the horns, he would most likely be missing ones both or half of one. I'd see them being bone white or possibly some kind of dark color.

— The horns would absolutely be bejewelled in some way or form and seem so fucking glamorous that it would make anybody jealouse !

— also medical Headcanon that the skin of his wings and horns is sensitive and easily itching. He has a special balm to relieve it.

+ I actually think he would look a little more youthful than he is in the actual show since dragon hybrids age few years differently.

— uhh his tail is pretty much the size it should be. Most likely ranging from pretty whites to darker color.

— He also has spines lining his back and most likely his forearms as well not to forget the scales that break through the skin in random patches very lightly.

Brief family/dating headcanons ( he him used to refer to the beloved ) tw. Slightly suggestive hint?

— spoiling absolutely spoiling with love and money. I'd think part of his love language is gifting and spoiling. May as well be some kind of service to the beloved.

— Terry doesn't mind a slight age gap between him and his beloved if it's consider in a romantic sense.

— so much adoring the beloved, and making it very known to him.

— just hugs and cuddles with him possessively wrapping his wings around the beloved so if he escapes his arms he can't actually leave the hug completely.

— Thinking about how he'd keep the beloved as long as possible with him when it comes to sleeping or laying in bed in general at lazy days where he doesn't have to be anywhere. If he has to be somewhere he stays as long as he can just hugging the beloved in the bed and leaving after then.

— the man would absolutely be warm but have cool skin to the touch over the scale patches or scales in general.

— if he's cool enough with the beloved he may just ask him to help with applying the balm on his wings and even to his horns.

— generally sensitive horns, spines and wings btw, touch them and you'll have him satisfied and get a lil handsy bc it lowkey feels good. But beware he may snatch the beloved hands if he doesn't like it.

— also own headcanon on dragons but dragon hybrids can purr. Do what you will with this information.

— personal Headcanon of him being open to and actually adopting a kid. Doesn't matter if it's a hybrid or human kid lol if talking about hybrid au .

— he'd be absolutely interested in spoiling them and making it known that he loves the kid dearly and that they're safe with him in general.

— if somebody messes with the kid or beloved he'll be doing something about it. even if they wouldn't outright tell him, he'll be more in tune with one's emotions than they realise and be aware of the mood swing. Lightly coaching them to talk about it so he can help.
