sure ango may have betrayed every organization under the sun but tachihara put in the effort to build up the perfect stereotypical gangstersona and act his silly little heart out for the perfect plot twist so we all know who deserves the award for best port mafia betrayal

Hey about the ghost Luigi au. But. Would he fade with time? Or would he be forced to watch everyone’s lives continue without him? Would he be forced to watch his friends and brother die? Cause that’s angsty as hell my dude
oh, he’s in it for the long haul. i think after time has done its damage, he would go from being inconsolable to a long period of complete and utter shutdown. who knows, maybe he takes to scaring folks in the end. at some point, that becomes the only thing a ghost can really offer, right? when connection is that temporary it loses its meaning. the only way he can touch the real world anymore is through fear.
Tumblr media
or you know, he could fulfill his dying wish and ascend to the afterlife. i want him to have a happy ending in one universe or another

Fem!Vox sews a lot in the tower to pass the time. She was never a great embroiderer, but the needle isn’t sharp enough for her to self-injure with (her skin is solid plastic) and at least it’s something to do. Velvette will give her shredded up clothes from the tower’s fashion department just to make sure she always has a project. The repetitive motions are soothing for her.

could you explain your theory on ralsei? i think your revised version of jaru's gerson-knight theory is really interesting and i'm curious what you think ralsei's background is hi btw!! i'm that one person who made that one eslira theme for papertrail a while back
I've got a much longer, more story-driven throughline post theorizing on that here!
But to sum it up much more briefly: I think that Kris willingly sought out being possessed by the player so that they wouldn't have to deal with the huge problems in their life, I think they may have traded away their own soul in exchange for the red soul the player controls, I think their soul was placed in the red-horns headband to hold it in the meanwhile, and then that object was brought to life with a dark fountain, creating Ralsei. So Ralsei is the living embodiment of Kris's soul, but specifically filtered through a personal object that represents their desire to fit in and be more like their brother.

If you think alicent was "manipulating" her children by telling them rhaenyra/rhaenyra's faction would try to kill them, I don't think you're a real alicent fan, and I don't think you understand medieval succession dynamics.

Last post made me realize that cathyWillis and SladeAddie are complimentary opposites in that while the base is the same (married couple that ends up falling apart when the husband is experimented on leaving the mother to care for the children on her own) they both have what the other lacks. Catherine and Willis loved each other and Jason so much that Jason never doubted it and that love is woven into the core of his character and morality but there were too many corrupt systems and oppressive forces against them and they were torn apart by outside factors. While Slade and Adeline who loved each other clung to the relationship but were fundamentally incompatible and the choices Slade made inevitably came crashing down on the whole family even though they had all the tools at their disposal to make it work the effects of the divorce lead to multiple other unrelated characters lives being significantly worse.

honestly, I’m convinced that at least half the upset about the whole [redacted] situation (other than the reactionary tension of living through a world that is the way it is, but that’s the internet in general) is anger at max for forcing a shorter season that is instead misplaced towards the creatives for trying to execute their full vision under the threat of cancellation. the pacing issues are totally valid, and I get feeling that there was no breathing room for the emotions to sit, and that those factors may have led to the feeling that it was poorly done. just…please don’t harass the writers about that 🙏🏽
if you think they should’ve handled it differently knowing the budget was cut I totally get that, but genuinely—if you had a three act story fully outlined and then were told after act i aired that you only had maybe 70% of your anticipated screentime and resources to execute it, would you rewrite the entirety of your story to adjust to the constraints, or try your best to fit everything in anyway? not saying either option is superior, but I think picking the latter is a reasonable creative choice under those circumstances that anyone would at least consider. and whether or not it worked with the pacing it had is a fair critique, but that’s still not a reason to harass or guilt-trip people. let’s try not to dunk on the person who got a plastic straw while ignoring the billionaires setting the world on fire (and yes that metaphor is extreme but I’ve seen too much homophobia/racism/etc. come out of this echo-chamber to ignore the real-world implications)

While I don't personally go in for Maedhros-in-Angband torture porn (as a matter of personal taste), I do think he was subject to a quick, dirty, and thoroughly nasty interrogation for military and political intelligence before he was stapled to the cliffside.
And I also think it is very rational and probable that he told his kin about it after his rescue. Not in a graphic way, but in a 'this is the information they got out of me' way, and also 'these are the general techniques they used to do it' way. Because intelligence and counter-intelligence are an important part of warfare, and the Noldor would want to find ways to subvert Morgoth's interrogation methods. And nobody moreso than the leaders of the hidden cities.
Which is all to say that it seems probable that Finrod was able to successfully resist Sauron's magical interrogation because he'd spent that last *mumble mumble* years experimenting and tweaking means to do just that, specifically, based on intelligence from Maedhros.

I think The Rod That Blocks the Lightning or a variation of that would perhaps make for a nice title for the Geumsaegi AU.
Tumblr media
I kind of like the lightning rod analogy, where Geumsaegi takes all the stress and trouble on himself to protect Flower Hill.
There is also One Mind All the Time, which is nice as well, but Guemsaegi’s plans and methods might not match up with everyone else’s.
Can’t be I Take This Way Myself, since he is not alone in his efforts.
