These are not inspired by me listening to these songs on repeat, I swear (hurriedly shoving all my mummy/daddy issues into an overflowing box that refuses to shut) but check out what I made
... so who wants to get really into polish folk music with me and have a provocative dance off with romantic undertones in a tavern aniela and maciej style
Machiavelli's Service to the Republic, John M. Najemy
eventually I'll read Sasso's writing on Machiavelli, but even reading Najemy's summary of the text with regards to Biagio and Machiavelli's relationship made me feel unwell™ in some kind of way like. even love. what an absolute gut punch pair of words to put in the middle of a sentence. I feel fine about it!! (a lie)
The Life and Times of Machiavelli, Pasquale Villari
AND NOW. regarding the scene. the letter exchanging hands is referencing their correspondence in general, but to also how Biagio was a collaborator to Machiavelli's plans (and a little bit about how some of Machiavelli's works were copied in Biagio's hand)
Machiavelli, Leonardo and the Science of Power, Roger D Masters
and regarding the red panel with the figure getting measured, it's about how Biagio had clothing for Machiavelli made to his own measurements in Machiavelli's absence.
Since I posted some of my old fanart yesterday... if you're not familiar with Slayers, and thus have never heard its amazing music, do check it out.
It's largely by the same songwriter, Masami Okui, that did Utena's iconic opening (Rinbu Revolution) and ofc (TRUTH) and sung by a duo of her and Hayashibara Megumi (you know, the GOAT)

The entire OST pretty much slaps. there's only a couple of bad image songs in an absolute expanse of pure gold. GIVE A REASON, the opening to the second season, tends to be the reigning favorite. (I've a hard time pinning down my absolute favorite... of the original openings, it might be Breeze, but all three are so good. Of the entire catalog? Impossible to choose. Midnight Blue, Raging Waves, Within my Unlimited Desires, Gloria, Get Along... Impossible Choice)
It's been raining a lot here lately, the clouds turn to this really nice sea-green color, so I wanted to make something inspired off of that! The music used here is "Learning Spy". I was listening to it while coloring n thought it suited the rain-vibes nicely.
ohh i forgot little shop has a plot-relevant eclipse i was confused why it was trending at first. happy "buy a strange plant that appeared out of nowhere" day, the plant is very nice i'm sure and nothing bad will happen to u or ur girlfriend after u buy it. i prommy
Forever obsessed with the soundtrack choices for the darkstar sequence in TGM
For the first half of the scene, when we see Mav is getting ready for the flight, the music is vibrant, filled with anticipation and excitement. There's this incredible sense of euphoria to it, you can practically tell that it's Mav's eagerness and love for flying showing right there
But later on, as he's in the air, faster than he's ever been in his life, the music slows down. It becomes ethereal and so very heartfelt. The moment has this emotional intimacy to it; that's when Mav allows his inner self to slow down as well, maybe for the first time in a while. He's thinking about Goose and reflects on his past
Just for this one moment there's only Maverick and the infinite sky and he's so very free but also haunted by his past mistakes and omg why am I getting emotional over this once again ----
