unpopular opinion: haley was too good for hotch
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
Ooh alrighty! Damn, this might be a hot take that I agree with. I’m not super invested in Hotch’s character, but I will say this as observation and my response. I think there was at one point where they were in love with each other (they were high school sweethearts, I think?), and I believe they do love each other even beyond Haley’s death and their divorce.
The problem is how things change with Hotch’s work schedule, which became much busier for him.
Here are some things to consider. Because she was busy taking care of their son, she doesn’t have a lot of “me time”, and doesn’t have much time with her husband whenever he is home. Haley’s role is a lot like Will’s, except the major difference (other than gender) is that Will understands what JJ does as a law enforcement officer himself. However, Haley and Will both ask their partners to spend more time with them and their families. We have seen both frustrated with their partners’ schedules. Another major difference is the amount of effort Hotch and JJ put into their home life. While I do understand the objectivity that Hotch puts on at work to keep himself emotionally distant (which is important to have) and his love for Jack, just around seasons 2-3 when he’s at home, his main focus is the job and eventually chooses it over his family. He forgets about Jack’s birthday (or another event, I think?) and distances himself from Haley, who is asking for her husband and father of her son back.
He starts putting more responsibility on himself when they divorce and Haley dies, and he has to look after Jack. In later seasons, you could see how Hotch learns more about Jack’s interests and tries to be there for him, but my issue is that before, he relied on Haley constantly in the past because she was the only one at home, and she wants to have a little time away from everything. When he’s home, he wishes that there was something at work that needs him there, even when his marriage and family are falling apart.
Idk, something about Hotch early seasons (specifically in s2-5) is probably I’m not too fond of. Later on, he’s alright and started growing on me a little. I think when he and Haley had Jack, he was more in love with the concept of having a family to go home to every time he came home, and took that for granted whether he knew it or not. I think he put his job a lot of the time in front of his family’s needs, knowing that he’s pushing them aside. I think it also affected the way he saw the other member’s personal lives with their own family. He had to learn the hard way from his own mistakes and doesn’t want the rest of the team to go through the same thing. I just kinda dislike how much of an absentee parent and husband he became in the first few seasons.

The fact that Alyssa, Daemon's mother kinda looks similar to Young!Rhaenyra sure is something that Freud would love

something about clinging to the idea of a woman; the dream girl you've built inside your head. the ideal of a dream girl that no real woman can ever hope to achieve.
the mother who you never got to really know, your niece who has everything that was meant to be yours, the woman your brother chose over you.

have mercy tell me about alyssa baratheon?
OMG WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN…
Okay, well. She’s Jaime and Cersei’s eldest child. She’s literally whatever the Westerosi equivalent of a 2000’s hot pink hello kitty girl would be. She’s so barbie core! She fully believes she’s a true born child between Robert and Cersei and discovering who she is absolutely SHATTERS her (while also putting some things into perspective when it comes to her dynamic with her aunt Alysanne- Robert’s sister that Mars created)
People tend to think she’s dumber than she is. She def comes off as ditzy and an airhead but she’s very sharp and notices things (think Elle Woods who is a HUGE inspo for her as a character)
She’s very much so someone who cries out for attention and love by acting out because she never really got enough of it as a kid and it kinda makes her feel bitter / cynical and left feeling like whatever she does is never enough. It leads to her sleeping with Theon when her family visits Winterfell as a way to kinda give herself autonomy even if only she knows it (theon tries to tell Robb, Alaric & Lynara, Jon, and Nymeria and they all lowkey kinda laugh and think he’s fucking with them) she has crazy mommy / daddy / abandonment issues and is probably the closest to Tyrion at the start of the series. My girl is also borderline alcoholic just like her mother and uncle 😭
She’s a love interest to both Sansa & Theon (my throuple obsession sorry gang 💔😔) and they get a happily ever after 🫶
#I hope that answers that!😭#TYSM for the ask!!!#oc: alyssa baratheon#asks#asoiaf oc#game of thrones oc

Thoughts on the Alysanne is Maegor's daughter AU? I feel like it has some interesting potential, and it vastly recontextualizes different parts of Jaehaehae (I do not like him sjsjsjs) and Alysanne's relationship (such as Jaehaehae's treatment of their daughters) but I wanna hear what you think about it!
I’ve touched on this a bit before but since you actually want to hear my thoughts, allow me to present to you my Jaehaerys Is The Goddamn Worst, And Alysanne Annoys Me Too: An Essay lmao but my answer is basically “yeah all of what you just said.”
I think it makes Alysanne much more palatable (to me) as a character because as she stands, she just fixates on forcing her daughters through these fucked up marriages at too young an age bc it traumatized her to be married and pregnant at 15 too but she’d never admit that being a willing participant in her own kidnapping by her brother-husband was the single worst thing that ever happened to her, and because Alysanne doesn’t want to admit it (and Jaehaerys would never see it as wrong or a mistake) F&B really shies away from delving into the fact that Alysanne is as deranged of a mother as Cersei is. So as she stands, she’s very flat to me because she’s presented very flatly and inconsistently. She’s so in love with Jaehaerys, she’s maritally raped by Jaehaerys, she’s a loving and doting mother, she forces her daughters into marriages when they’re the same too young age she was, she accuses her teenage girls of being scheming whores then gets angry when her husband accuses their teenage girls of being scheming whores, and worst of all we are just told “Maegelle tells them to make up so they do” so we don’t know why Alysanne gets over all of this. What is the point of riding a dragon when you never use that dragon to protect your daughters from unwanted teen marriages? We’re just not given a good enough justification for why her behavior is so weird and frustrating towards her daughters.
Make her Maegor’s daughter though…most of her behavior as an adult makes more sense. Like a worse version of Rhaenyra’s childhood almost - a father desperate for a son, but lowkey obsessed with his daughter, who makes all his hang ups about his parents the problems of every woman around him, except Maegor is out here blood sacrificing and torturing and starting wars and forcing babies on wives he discards quickly and brutally. Then here comes Jaehaerys on a white horse green dragon to save her from the horror her life has become, and he loves her so much he runs away with her even though Alyssa says they shouldn’t marry because people won’t like it. And they have beautiful children, and a beautiful marriage, and build a beautiful kingdom.
Then her pregnancies start getting dangerous. Gaemon, then Valerion, die. Alysanne thinks of the shriveled up mutants she called brothers, if Maegor’s taint has passed to her. Her perfect husband ignores her no, and forces Gael on her. Alysanne remembers that he said nothing to Rogar when Alyssa died, merely wept. Then her daughters start to die. Daella, Alyssa, Viserra, all within a few years. Then Jaehaerys makes Saera watch as he murders her boyfriend, calls her a whore, and says Alysanne cannot follow Saera to Lys. Alysanne thinks of Maegor torturing the Harroways over Alys’ presumed infidelity. Jaehaerys says he’s sorry, and her daughter badgers her into forgiving him, and she remembers how she helped Jaehaerys badger Alyssa into forgiving Rogar. Not two years later, Jaehaerys passes over Rhaenys. Alysanne thinks of how she was never enough for her father, how she felt so superior to Rhaena banished to Dragonstone and resented by Aerea, yet there she is dragging Gael away from court because she can’t stand to be with Jaehaerys. How her father was surrounded by dead women and dead babies and how Jaehaerys is surrounded by his own dead daughters, but surely she did the right thing, surely Maegor was worse, surely the realm is better off? Is he right to pass over Rhaenys? Is she enabling a man just as monstrous as her father? She will never decide, because Maegelle will guilt her about keeping Gael isolated at Dragonstone, and Alysanne will do as she’s told, just like Rhaena, and Alyssa, and Jeyne, Elinor, Ceryse, Alys, and Tyanna, just like every one of her daughters.
I do get why Alysanne is Alyssa & Aenys’ and not Maegor’s. The weird Targ babies, the line not descending from Visenya, Jaehaerys and Alysanne being held up as the perfect Targaryen couple specifically because they are brother and sister and dragon riders. I do even think canon Alysanne is likely traumatized by her time as a hostage on Dragonstone, and the ensuing war, and the trauma bond that caused with Jaehaerys, and it makes her idolize Jaehaerys, and then he isolates her at Dragonstone so he can swiftly and safely marry, groom, and knock her up. It’s not like,,,, a fun time, and it’s enough to make anyone crazy and weird about their daughters, but I think having her father be Maegor makes Alysanne herself much deeper because it gives her, as the most beloved Targaryen queen, a blood tie to the most hated Targaryen king, and a marriage to the most beloved Targaryen king. It fits better with a lot of the themes of the main series (again, imo) - forcing the spotlight on the outsiders to see how the affect the story from behind the scenes. The fall of Aegon’s sons, and The Long Reign, not told from the PoV or to serve the PoV of any of the kings or princes, but of the queen that tied them all together.
#anti jaehaerys i targaryen#f&b critical#jaehaerys the cruel#fire and blood critical#asks#thesadboy#like he kind of does this with aenys & maegor by focusing on alyssa and rhaena and the wives and visenya.#but the Moment jaehaerys enters the scene he completely dominates it. the same way daemon and aemond do actually.#but this is not. it should not!! be their story. that’s not how the main series is told anyway!!#if f&b isn’t told by a dornish maester than it should have been written by a septa!!!#nuns wrote books!!!!!#rich noblewomen wrote novels and poetry!!!!!!!#GEORGE DO YOU READ WOMEN. I AM NO LONGER ASKING POLITELY.#i went to look for her mother and apparently this was just a mistake elio made and i’m even more depressed. i can’t believe i’m saying this#but elio damn your mind.#i bet he saw that and went ‘wait which one is her fucjing mother’ and george was like what in the goddamn hell are you talking about.#idk who would be her mother in this au. if we want to keep her within 3 ish years of jaehaerys it Has to be alys or ceryse. ceryse hightowe#is the hilarious and obvious choice. but don’t count out alys harroway second wife here either.#then there’s rhaena as her mother which with the canon timeline makes him 12 years older and isn’t THAT horrible let’s stop here actually.

I think Grace Ashcroft might actually be Leon's kid, there's this weird gut feeling i have for some reason and i don't really know why. What do you think?
I HIGHLY doubt that will be canon. Capcom has been pretty clear that none of the main characters will have 'canon' relationships and I doubt that would change out of the blue.
Plus, from a story standpoint, it would be, like, really shitty storytelling. For a character (Leon) to suddenly have a kid with a character he's (afaik) never met or interacted with on screen or page (Alyssa) would be a bad writing choice, plain and simple. I mean, you could argue that they did that with Wesker but let's be real, who is procreating with that man? Be so for real. He grew Jake in a test tube. We all know this.
Also, it would be hard to get the timelines to match up as well. If we assume Grace is anything older than 25, that means Leon was sleeping with Alyssa between '98 and '00 (assuming re9 is set in 2026) which he... probably would NOT have time for, what with being in training and all that. If Grace is younger, well, why is the FBI sending someone so young on a solo mission? That wouldn't make logical sense.
All in all, Leon being Grace's dad is super unlikely. But, I mean, if you like that idea, you can headcanon it all you want. Hell, make an AU. Live your dream! But don't go into re9 expecting it to be canon. You'll be disappointed.
(As for my personal opinions on the possibility? I don't like it. I think it's silly and would be bad writing on Capcom's part to do that. Also the Aeon fandom backlash would be CRAZY)

do you have an unpopular opinion about JJ in the later seasons? It could be anything
Hmm… I have a two-parter answer to this question.
I talked about this a few times before but I think a lot of people sometimes forget that JJ was an administrator before becoming a profiler, so being Unit Chief wouldn’t be anything completely out of the ordinary for her. The only thing that I think she would have a hard time struggling with would be the time spent with her family, but other than that, she would handle the job just fine.
I like and dislike that once she became a profiler, she gained more respect than she did as a liaison. Remember when Emily was the only one backing her up in cases because everyone doubted that some of the cases JJ brought were relevant to the BAU? Barely anyone took her seriously until she transitioned to a profiler position. Along with the first answer, too, JJ worked more roles within the BAU than everyone else. She even had more leeway and connections than Hotch did, but barely anyone on the team noticed that. Emily, Penelope, and Hotch were the only ones that were grateful for her efforts and cautious if she had more on her plate when she was a liaison. She didn’t have to prove to anyone that she deserves to be on the team. She didn’t need to have the “profiler” title, but the fact that a lot of people in the CM universe took advantage because she didn’t have that role bothered me at times when I rewatch older episodes.
#i’m so sorry this took a while to answer!!#ik i ended up talking about earlier seasons too haha but wanted to try and tie into her character later on#jennifer jareau#tenaciousarcadeexpert#alyssa's asks

Have you tried eating any spare EGO suits. Or making edible EGO.
Hah...edible E.G.O... What a ridiculous concept. For what use would the rigorous process of extracting E.G.O. equipment in the first place serve if all it is going to do is serve as a meal?
Although....there is something to be considered when considering EGO as an alternative sustainable renewable food source.....
....alternatively....we find a way to put the abnormalities the Sinners find in facilities and Mirror Dungeons to additional use.
#( yea i went nuts on this one i thought itd be funny + fun to draw them as lil dungeon meshi guys )#( going down to the facilities to get Good Eats.... cursed )#( it is a oneshot i considered running for the limbus d&d group tho dshjkjdkajd )#ask#marton#alyssa#johann

Any headcanons regarding Kate and Alyssa’s friendship? They’re a highly underrated duo and I wish we could have seen more of them.
A: Alyssa was the first person Kate met on campus. Kate saw her sitting alone, reading a book, and immediately felt like they had something in common. Kate approached her and made small talk about reading until Alyssa offered to show her around campus.
B: Alyssa was the first one to reach out to Kate after the video leaked.
C: Alyssa has sent Kate SO MANY music playlists, and Kate has listened to all of them. She blames Alyssa entirely for her new indie music taste.
D: Alyssa hates physical affection, but the first thing she did upon seeing Kate in the hospital room was to wrap her in a hug that was so tight it was hard for her to breath.
E: Kate always wants to take selfies of her and Alyssa. Most of them end up in one of her many scrapbooks.
F: Kate and Alyssa would get ice cream every other Wednesday afternoon. Kate would get green tea every time, and Alyssa would always get something different. In an odd way they admired each other for their tastes. Alyssa was always impressed that Kate could be so consistent, and Kate was always impressed that Alyssa could be so brave to try something new.
G: They share a Switch and an Animal Crossing island. Both things were Alyssa's first, but she gets so busy with classes and trying to keep up with her daily reading goals that she doesn't mind at all if Kate takes her Switch for a bit. Plus, Kate does a great job at island upkeep, so it's even less than a problem.
H: Alyssa got Kate into pairing necklaces with her outfit.
I: Alyssa was the one who told Max that Kate left town right before the storm and was therefore still alive.
J: In the sacrifice Chloe ending, Alyssa offers to let Kate live with her after everything comes out and she drops out of Blackwell. Kate takes her up on that offer and they're roommates for quite a few years.

14, 15, & 16 for alyssa
[14] What does it take to make them laugh, and what does their laugh sound like?
Alyssa (prior to marrying ramsay) is very easy to make laugh. She’s very giggly and easy to make laugh (especially by Quinn and Sansa). Her laugh can be really loud and boisterous when she’s not under her mothers eye :’)
[15] How do they act around people they don't like?
She’s very aggressive and hostile sksksksk she does NOT gaf about being proper. She makes her hater girl nature KNOWN (its why she gets along with Quinn and Loras) and doesn't like to give ppl she hates the time of day.
[16] Do they easily rely on others to help them out, or prefer doing everything themselves?
Alyssa has a hard time asking for help. She does what she can to take care of Tommen and Myrcella when they come to her but she herself does not tend to go seeking others out cause :/// there’s really no one she was able to do that with after Alysanne became distant. Maybe the closest thing she had was Renly until he left. Funnily enough, if it was a favor or smth she needed done, she’d annoy Sandor into helping her.
