Do you want to comfort your fav fictional character because you love them and don't want them to be alone or do you want to do it because you see yourself in them and you project onto them and comforting them is the only way you can comfort yourself since you've always had to manage and take care of your own feelings and had to suffer alone and be the only one there for yourself? Hmm?

I’m going to paint you a picture of modern communication, and how it is fundamentally broken.
Let’s look at one friend. You chat pretty much everyday, and mostly talk to this person on twitter and discord, with occasional tumblr DMs. That’s three places you talk. But that’s actually not true, because you also have each other’s priv twitters and talk there as well. That’s four. Now account for, let’s say, one post reply per account per person, in addition to your DMs. That’s eight. But that’s ALSO not true, because not only do you talk in discord DMs with each other, but you’re in a friend group server as well! And you talk in those channels together! That’s nine.
This is one friend.
Now look around you. How many friends, how many mutuals are you in contact with. A few, a handful, a dozen, more? How many accounts per person do you have, how many places can you send each other posts, devolve into separate topics and conversations? How many people text you as well. Friends, family, coworkers? What do you do day to day around catching up, what IRL commitments will rip you away long enough to let the pile build again?
I can’t do it. I cannot live an actual life in the real world and balance this much interaction, it’s crushing. I reply to a friend’s post because I’m interested in the subject, I want to have a discussion! I WANT to talk about it with them, but I immediately kick myself for adding another conversation to the pile. Day by day, I ignore messages for hours on end and watch mountains pile around me, to reply en masse at the end of the night to let the cycle repeat. I wake up to six discord DMs and as I clear the third, the first replies back again.
We weren’t meant to have thirty simultaneous conversations. We weren’t. And you know in your bones that the number isn’t an exaggeration.

More coping! Yayyyyy!
It's 3am. Geto is asleep. His hair is splayed all around the pillow and his mouth is slightly open. Drool is spilling slightly past his lips. His blanket, which had covered him a minute ago, was now on the floor as a result of him thrashing around to get comfortable.
And next to him lies Gojo. Who is staring at him with the most pure look of love in his eyes. His Six Eyes have never seen a sight more beautiful then that of Geto sleeping peacefully. He reaches out and brushes the hair away from Getos face with a tenderness that's saved only for Geto.
Gojo can't help it. As he looks at Geto he thinks that maybe, just maybe, love could also be a blessing.
"You're so pretty Suguru."
"Why the fuck are you staring at me?"
And Gojo, who was not expecting Geto to wake up, screams and falls off the bed.

The thing about the whole "Clearsight is a colonizer" thing that gets me the most is that she clearly never wanted or intended to be treated like that. She wanted a fresh start. She couldn't go on with her life on Pyrrhia due to Darkstalker's absence. She knew she would do little more than feel an ache in her heart and mourn the loss of the dragon she loved. The dragon she thought she would spend the rest of her life with. She wanted to run. She had to start anew.
Then, receiving the vision about the hurricane that was about to hit Pantala. She saw her chance and she took it. She flew for days until finally reaching the continent, being the first dragon to do so. She warned them all and saved countless lives because of it. She was seen as mystical and gifted, but that's a given when you have literal magic powers that lets you see into the future.
Clearsight spent her life peacefully. I don't think she wanted to be hailed as a god-like figure at all. She wanted to be seen as a member of the community, one no more special or note-worthy than anybody else. Her status as a prophet and deity I think was brought on in the following centuries. Wasp, the actual genocidal maniac, used Clearsight mostly as a means of which to get her way, manipulating the population into thinking that Clearsight herself foretold this would happen.
Clearsight wasn't a colonizer. I think it's a gross misuse of the word that really misunderstands both her character and the text in favour of going: "SEEE????? TUI IS BIGOTED!!!" That being said it is very iffy and uncomfortable to have Tui say: "Ohhh the reason why Clearsight basically bred out BeetleWings was because of her strong genetic material" like what are you talking about

SaShiSu first impression headcanons... but more Shoko, because I love her to bits. 💖
On the first day they met (likely on the first day of school during their first year), I like to think Shoko had her moment of, "Oh, I have two very attractive classmates."
She might have (just a teeny bit) entertained the idea of what it would look like if she ended up dating one of them. It's nothing serious -- just a hypothetical thought from a teenage girl honestly, and she recalls that same thought decades later and laughs at the naivety.
Because after the first time Satoru opened his mouth and started talking and being his obnoxious teen self, 15-year-old Shoko was like, "Ew." 👀😷
Suguru's better and more tolerable, but there's a reason why he and Satoru get along too well, you know. Suguru can be a two-faced asshole and easily goes along with Satoru's brattiness.
Plus, as the three of them got closer, Shoko found herself going along with and getting dragged into the most ridiculous situations.
And in the end, Shoko is like, "I'm never falling in love with either of these idiots."
She loves them for sure... But it's like the way you're fond of your annoying siblings, you know. (They're both technically younger than her too -- by a couple of months, but it still counts.)
Shoko has seen their good, their bad, their ugly.
And in another life, in another world, the three of them are best friends forever -- friends until they're old and gray. 👨🦳👩🦳👨🦳
They probably whack each other with their walking sticks.

i am once again thinking about how akutami loves giving his characters common first names and uncommon last names and how PERFECT that is for gojo because his last name is this great blessing of power, an unbearable weight on his shoulders that makes him The Strongest, and his first name is literally the kind you see everywhere in japan. he really is just a normal boy who could have lived a normal life but he was saddled with borderline godhood from the moment he was conceived and had to adjust to that crushing weight
