amélie the musical (broadway recording) or amélie the musical (london recording) choose wisely
easy. london because broadway doesn't have the greatest part of the entire musical aka the "oh, oh, oh, oh" melody line and chorus of flight of the blue fly, which then returns in halfway (reprise) and makes me start crying
(any mutuals unfamiliar with amélie the musical please listen to this song, it makes me feel like running through a field of wheat à la theresa may)

The Lightning Thief will premiere in London's The Other Palace (also home to the London debuts of Heathers, Be More Chill, Falsettos, and Amélie) this fall, with performances lasting from November 23 through February 2, 2025.
The musical features a book by Joe Tracz and music & lyrics by Rob Rokicki.
This staging will be directed by Lizzi Gee, making her directorial debut.

Lesser-Known Musical Recommendations Part 2
Amélie - Based on the foreign film of the same name. It follows the story of a painfully shy girl who decides to become an anonymous do-gooder. The music is so cozy! While it has been on Broadway and West End, not very many people talk about it. This recording stars Phillipa Soo (Hamilton, 2022 Into the Woods, 2023 Camelot)
Jane Eyre - Based on the classic novel by the same name. Follows Jane as she becomes a governess, discovers her own self-worth, and falls in love. There is much more to the story, but that’s the barebones explanation.
The Theory of Relativity - It’s a revue-style show with a collection of songs that reflect the complexities of life’s simple events. A lot of the songs have self-contained stories, making them good for auditions. This might not be as underground as I think it is, because I heard about it from a friend who has TikTok and saw a bunch of reels showing up with some of the songs, but it’s still a neat show. Erika Henningsen (Mean Girls Broadway) sings one of the songs in this one.

merci beaucoup à @pristina-nomine, who always makes me feel included despite the fact I've proven time and time again that I have no taste. still. I think you're gonna like this one, I don't knooow. you might feel seen:
by the sea (sweeney todd 2023 album);
livin' it up on top (from the hadestown obcr, miss you @ amber!persephone 5ever)
where do we go from here? (from the amélie broadway cast album);
black friday (the title song from a starkid show, a recent rewatch);
two birds with one stone (from the schmigadoon s2 ost, that pilate-esque patrick page number, if you remember);
all-american bitch (rodrigo);
pretty women (eleri ward);
epiphany (groban);
the worst pies in london (ashford);
green finch and linnet bird (take a guess).
tagging... well, definitely too antisocial for this lmao

THERE'S AN AMÉLIE MUSICAL? omg..
YES OMG <3
The original broadway production starring Phillipa Soo was the first bootleg i ever watched, so even though it's far from the greatest show it has a very special place in my heart <3
There's also the West End version starring Audrey Brisson, which I still haven't seen/watched but literally every single person has said its MUCH better than the obc (ie. she actually has a french accent, the orchestration is better) and from what i see i totally agree. Please Please watch this animatic which is maybe one of my favourite youtube videos ever.....
