The amazing thing is how relatively cheap land+favorable geography meant that it took the US way longer to experience birthrate collapse despite as much lib propaganda as the rest of the west, argentina tier(in different ways) bad economic policy since 1981, and parenting norms especially in middle class/"white" america that's down there with south korea/abbo penile subincision cults in abusiveness.

Antisemitism is an inherent and essential part of Nazi ideology. Nazis target other demographics as well, but the antisemitism is a main, essential component. If someone isn't antisemitic then they're not a Nazi. If an ideology doesn't include antisemitism then it isn't Nazi ideology. There is literally no such thing as Nazi ideology that doesn't revolve around antisemitism. You can not separate antisemitism from Nazism, they go hand in hand. Someone who is queerphobic but not antisemitic is not a Nazi. Someone who is ableist but not antisemitic is not a Nazi. Someone who hates other ethnic or cultural groups but not Jewish people is not a Nazi. There's no such thing as a Nazi that doesn't hate Jewish people. You are helping no one by throwing the word around for any and all forms of fascism or discrimination, and you are harming people by acting like antisemitism isn't an essential part of Nazism.

it’s always sunny in philadelphia is like if 3 lower-middle class WASP-raised now-liberal guys all circle-jerked about their life experiences and splurged out a social commentary on modern american culture disguised as the peepeepoopoo fart show

ok. who the hell is joe rogan?? i think i heard him in passing but im not north american so i didnt really care all that much
JFLKDSFJKLDS he's a podcaster (former reality tv show host/actor other nonsense with ufc), and his podcast happens to be one of the biggest in north america, lol. he kinda represents like monkey brained macho man who has ... very little actual knowledge and buys into conspiracies very easily, and the past 8 years or so has really been known for platforming people with INSANE opinions on political topics and current events. he's very influential just because so many people watch/listen to his shit, but as soon as someone says they're an avid listener of him........... you should be wary, lol. i've definitely HEARD and listened to his stuff myself just to form opinions, and i do feel like he used to be more innocuous than he is now... ever since the trump election, it's just been a shitshow of right wing nonsense and braindead takes from people who "know how to admit they're wrong" but also could be fact checked every 5 seconds if they cared about accurately presenting any information. it's like a shitty brainstorm session with men who are high sitting around smoking cigars and trying to solve the worlds problems with the least amount of intellect you've ever seen.

wanna make a folk costumes of britain zine sooo fuckign bad.........
#folk traditions/music/dance/costume in england in /particular/ are so deeply repressed & mocked and ignored /within/ england#i listened to an interesting podcast examining the english folk music tradition and#how we as english lost something of ourselves in the plundering of others for empire and the incessant rise of industrialisation#however. there is still so much there. so many interesting traditions. so much oral history. so many regional variations#and if you live here it's here for anyone and everyone to take. it's yours!!!!!#waiting for you to find it if you only look for it. if you want it#anyway this was spurred by reading some american say their family was english on both sides and thus had no culture to feel tied to#which made me so sad because it's not true at all. there is always big tescos. (joke)#but fr wym 'no english culture' what is my ultraspecific interest then. lol#there is of course also a very pervading connection of english folk tradition with whiteness which we must both examine and break#because what is a folk tradition if it becomes the preserve of a very narrow demographic? folk means people.#it's of the people and that's all of us here and we must make it open if people so choose to take it#however that is a tag essay for another day and for obvious reasons i can only word things clumsily and do not have the right perspective#anyway once again this was a very long tag essay on my very specific interests. apologies#what it means to be 'from england' with everything that entails is endlessly complex and i think abt it all the time#wow these tags are barely related to the post anymore#is this like. a reasonable and normal post to make i dont even know anymore

I have been drowning in quicksand for 4 1/2 years.
Happy Birthday to me. If I ever amass a fortune it would go to proper funding and fight for legislation for safe humane abortions and safe humane assisted suicide.
Until then, I will shut the fuck up and smile at the table. Just like home just like family just like culture.
Shoutout to the Uber rides where the drivers waxed poetic about how hope is a harmful meaningless lie and useless and I should stop it “no offense” and I quoooooote.
Shoutout to the 47 year old for the sobering conversation, I hope it scares me enough to get up get out and get something by any means necessary fuck family. Thanks man.
Thanks mom for these past 4 years you broke my heart while I was trying not to break yours. It’s not your fault none of it, you’re not a victim you’re a survivor. I pray God grants her a thriving life.

The Accuracy of Estimation of American Slave Population Counts
[N]early 1-in-5 (19.0 percent) of all slaves who ever lived in the United States were born or imported in the 1850s. […. Hacker's method] indicates that 1.75 million slaves had been born or imported prior to 1800, representing less than one-fifth of the number of slaves who ever lived in the United States. Stated another way, about 4 out of 5 slaves who ever lived in the United States were born or imported in the nineteenth century. How accurate are these numbers? As discussed earlier, results for the seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries are subject to greater error. Given the large proportion of al slaves who were born or imported after 1750, however, estimates of the number of slaves who lived in the United States are robust to significant errors before 1750. The most important assumption is the estimated slave birth rate in each decade. […] Although the highest and lowest estimated rates are less probable, the true number of slaves born in the United States may have been as low as 8.4 million or as high as 10.3 million. In one important respect, the number of slaves estimated in Table 1 is conservative: no consideration was made for the probable undercount of the slaves in the U.S. census. Historians have often commented on the immense challenge of conducting a nation-wide census given the tremendous geographic size of the nation, a rapidly growing and moving population spread in low densities across the land, and the relative primitive condition of transportation and technology in the early nineteenth century. Although there are no good estimates of the census undercount of the slave or free black populations, a recent published study of the undercount for the white population in 1850 and 1860 censuses indicated that the southern white population suffered a 6.6 [percent] net undercounter in the 1850 census, a 7.6 percent net undercount in the 1860 census, and an 8.8 percent undercount in the 1870 census. If we assumed similar levels of undercounts of the slave population, the total number of slaves who ever lived in the United States would be about 10.5 million.
