Mexican Ammonites

In Mexico, ammonite fossils have been found in several locations, such as Temapá (Hidalgo), Huayacocotla, Mixteca (Oaxaca), Zacatecas and San Luis Potosí.

Ammonites were extinct cephalopod mollusks that lived in the seas from the Middle Devonian to the late Cretaceous.

They had an external shell and coexisted with dinosaurs and adapted to diverse living conditions thanks to their genetic flexibility.
