Determining what Gemstone the Amulet of Avalor was originally made of. I’ve come to the decision of Onyx!! Its color variants fit perfectly with the three colors that we see it come in! Plus, it is typically found in Latin America countries, and Avalor is based on Latin America! I can see the amulet being made of Red Onyx!
Let me know if you agree!!

Elena of Avalor

(Screenshot I took from the first episode of season 1)
Ok, I wanted to start making post on different pieces of media. Currently, I've been flickering back and forth with different shows I've been into. I just got back into elena of avalor a little. So, I want to make a post about it now, and I did one on sofia the first last year. It only makes sense to do the spin off of that show.
Elena of avalor was a part of my childhood just like sofia the first. I rewatched it in 2020, but, I fully remember when it aired on TV. I watched it back in 2016 when it came out. I can't believe it's been that long ago, 8 years already.
The amount of love I have for sofia the first is the same for elena of avalor. I think it's a pretty good show. It may have had its complicated moments but I find it great.
In my opinion, I think the very first episode of the show was actually good. It was simple, yet nice. Elena feeling like she needs to prove she's ready to rule, by the end of the episode, she figures out that she has a lot to learn and needs to take her time with it. I remember when the first episode aired on TV, and my little self was flabbergasted when they said she was stuck in the amulet for 41 years. Not even 20.... 41! Same for her abuelo, abuela, and sister. But they were in a painting for 41 years instead. Also, the crossover with elena and sofia was nice(in elena and the secrets of avalor). I know they have the same show creator, so that's why, but still, I like the crossovers. I love when tv show creators have made multiple shows and do a crossover with the characters.
Also, I don't know, but I feel like elena just has chaotic energy. Like, she'll make the most random jokes that don't make sense, but they're funny.
And her killing shuriki(the person who caused her to be stuck in the amulet for 41 years, and even killed Elena's parents) was amazing! Especially for a kids show! Great!
While I do kind of ship some of the characters, I find it great that there aren't any sorts of romantic love interest, and it's mainly focussed on friends and family.
I didn't even mention the songs. I loved the songs. The season 1 songs are nostalgic for me. I liked the song in the first episode of the show. How her and her abuelo duet each other in the song based upon whether she's ready to rule or not.
The characters are cool. I find naomi and Elena's relationship really sweet, as well as Elena's relationship with isabel, her sister. Like, elena is such a great older sister to Isabel. It's cute.
I also find it cool that elena plays guitar.
I think she's cool for playing guitar.
All these characters are chaotic somehow in my mind(especially elena and isabel). I just think they have chaotic, silly energy. No matter what.

So, I'm not sure how accurate to the show this is because there are so many moving timelines that it was hard for me to keep track of where the heck Alacazar was and how long it took him to get places.
But, here is my approximate timeline from my "General Notes" Outline that covers basically my HCs from approximately Tilly's birth to Cedric's graduation from Hexley.
(These are my notes on the "Enchancian" side of things in the larger Hexley Hall fic that is still in the works. I'm not sure how many of the characters outside of Cedric and his family/ Greylock/ teachers will get chapters, but I have a pretty well thought out plot for Tilly and Baileywick. So, they might get more development in that than I originally intended. Either that or I might end up doing spin off one-shots? I don't even know anymore. I just make lists of things and write whatever comes to me at this point.)
The take over of Avalor occurs ~ 3ish years before Cedric is born
Alacazar spends 6 years testing the Amulet out in various countries before showing up in Enchancia.
The Amulet shows up in Enchancia just about the time Cedric is 3, Roland is 4, Cordelia is 6, and Tilly is 7. (ish)
Roland I and Goodwyn are enamored with it. However, it is tested out, primarily, on older princesses and nobility when the children are asleep. Almost all the adult nobility end up cursed at various points. This is how it "fell into many other princess' hands" but none of them were the right fit.
Horrified by it, Roland I demands it be locked up in the jewel room.
Disheartened, Alacazar turns himself into a book in the Enchanted Library.
However, Queen Eliza and Winifred decide to research it. They discover, only, that it’s meant to act as a guide for princesses. Winfried jokingly suggests that Tilly could benefit from it.
Queen Eliza laughs about it for a moment only to decide to take it and give it to Tilly.
She tells Tilly she cannot let anyone know about the gift. It has to remain hidden under her shift at all times.
Tilly promises to do it, and she immediately bonds with it.
She only shows it to one person. She shows it to Cedric when he’s 8 right before she leaves to become a squire. She says when she does good things, sometimes, it helps her out. She knows that telling him about it is an awesome idea because, maybe, the Amulet will help them talk to each other across long distances through their minds or something!
Roland I finds out that Tilly has the Amulet and forces her to return it to the Jewel Room before she leaves. He tries to take it, but the Amulet keeps shocking him.
Tilly yells at him saying that she hopes his lineage is cursed with the strongest Queen that Enchancia has ever had because, even if she can’t be it, she hopes he and his ghost have to live with such a Queen. Tilly hopes his line has the strongest and fiercest women the EverRealm has ever borne witness to, so that when they remember the Winslows they forget he ever existed! Because, he's a monster. "Anyone who treats a child the way you and his father have treated that poor boy, is a monster!"
Then, she flees the room.
Because Tilly no longer has the Amulet, Elena cannot help her or give her blessings. She can't help her stay connected with her friend.
So begins Cedric’s eternal love-hate relationship with friendship, promises, and the Amulet of Avalor.
As the years go by, Cedric kind of wonders what happened to said Amulet. He and Tilly are both kind of awkward around each other. She is awkward because she feels bad that she gave in to her father. The Amulet still needed her somehow. It wasn't giving up unless she did, and she gave up. Cedric is awkward because he feels abandoned by her. It takes them until her wedding to really make up with each other. But, when they do, they go right back to being thick as thieves.
It takes him until he’s about 12 and Tilly is 16 to notice that she doesn’t wear the Amulet anymore.
He infers that she probably lost it somewhere and that thing is gone for good.
A Further Note on Elena Choosing TIlly:
I think Elena did choose her. King Roland I forced Tilly to give up the Amulet when she gave up the throne. I think Tilly standing up to King Roland I was supposed to be the test, and she failed.
I also think Tilly had it, and was assisted by a Princess, on the Day of The Incident.
More on that in the universe of my writing.
There's a lot to unpack there. I'm using old Disney Princess lineups from my era (the 90s and early 2000s) for Tilly's Amulet/ just generally expanding the Princess Canon in my lore to include princesses that were in the official lineup at various points but are no longer.
A Further Note on How Elena Knew to Glow
I think Roland II says something about his mother suggesting The Amulet of Avalor as a gift for Sofia in the pilot(?) which is where I got the idea that it was a secret gift for Tilly between her and her mother. Grandmum was in on it. Perhaps, they were near the jewel room when they had this initial conversation and Elena overheard them?
An Further Note on the Other Princesses who Used The Amulet:
Maybe some other folks tried it while it was in the jewel room? Maybe they didn't. But, I think this thing was a parlor trick before Tilly had it and Elena was mad about being used as an Enchancian party trick and just started cursing folks.
A Further Note On Cedric and the Amulet:
I also think this is why her curses on Cedric were silly as opposed to outright malicious. Well, right up until she realized she really needed to get him to give it back to Sofia. She had to trick him into giving it back. But, I also like to think she remembered the goodness in him. She, likely, would have seen and heard him around.
I do think Tilly told him about it, and I think he honestly just thought she lost it somewhere. He noticed at some point later and thought to himself: "Welp. That thing is gone for good at the bottom of a cave somplace."
So, needless to say, he was shocked when it did show back up. He thought it was gone. Like, drowned in the bottom of a lake somewhere kinda gone.
Final Thoughts:
How accurate to canon is this timeline?
I have absolutely no idea.
Is this my attempt to fill in the plot holes based on the information I was given in the show?
Yup. Yes, it is. I've probably taken a ton of creative liberty with it. But, I've kept the Cedric, Roland, Cordelia, Tilly generation all within ~ 4ish years of each other. They were all close with Tilly as their fearless matriarch until circumstances and life split them up.
In my HCs, Tilly left to become a knight immediately after graduating from RPA and never spoke to Roland I again after turning 12. He outright refused to speak to her again and stripped her of her titles. Roland II was the one who reinstated her as Duchess.
A lot of this is based on where I think the origin of the book "1001 Tiaras" came from. Tilly would never match up to the standards written about in that book. So, I think there was a lot of "strictness" established under King Roland I and prior to him that Roland II and others have been slowly dismantling.
I get this from things like "The Elf Situation," the various peace treaties Roland is trying to negotiate, the fact that "1001 Tiaras" even exists as a book, etc. That all comes back to bite them later, sure it does.
But, I don't think Tilly stood for anyone's nonsense even as a child. I just don't.
Amulet of Avalor questions and plotholes
Cedric grew up with Tilly and Roland, soooo...
...Did Cedric know that Tilly had the amulet before Sofia?
In the pilot, when he saw Sofia had the amulet and learned from her that Roland gave it to her, he was genuinely shocked that the amulet had been in the palace all those years after he'd been studying and obsessing over it for so long.
Maybe Tilly acquired it after she left the castle to become an adventurer (I can't remember if it said). Or if she had it as a youth and Cedric knew she had it, maybe he thought she'd taken the amulet with her?
...Come to think of it, why did Tilly leave the amulet behind? And why didn't Elena choose Tilly as the one to save her, especially since Tilly was also a Storykeeper? I hc Elena didn't send Sofia the dream/visions that led her to Avalor to set Elena free- which happened in s3- until she was absolutely sure Sofia was the right one, and Sofia had obviously proven herself by then... so, how did Tilly presumably fail to prove herself?
And the decades Elena was in the amulet, it fell into many other princesses' hands. Why were none of them chosen to be the one to save Elena? And how did the amulet even get acquired by so many other princesses?
Also, the amulet was in the castle's jewel room when Sofia arrived at the palace. Roland had gone in there to look for a something special to gift Sofia as a welcome gift. Elena got Roland's attention by letting the amulet sparkle or light up, or whatever, so he could see it. But how did Elena even know about Sofia's arrival and that Roland was looking for a welcome gift for her... unless he was talking to himself/thinking out about it while trying to decide?

I love reimagining Sofia the First episodes where Elena is inside the Amulet of Avalor from her perspective. You’re a sixteen-year-old heir to the throne trapped in a gemstone as a disembodied spirit with murdered parents, living family still in danger, a colonized country in need of liberation and untreated PTSD who nobody around you even knows exists. This has been your life for thirty-nine years by the time you finally find someone who might have the potential to free you. But first, you have to help her grow as a person. And all of these shenanigans keep happening. What was she thinking the whole time?
Sofia: (boasting to her friends about getting to sing the Enchancian anthem)
Elena: Oh my God, shut up. You sound like Esteban, and not in a good way.
Elena, a teenager and older sibling who hasn’t had the chance to tease anyone in roughly four decades: So… you’re expected to sing in front of a huge crowd tomorrow? Would be a shame. If something were to. Happen.
***
Amber: (deceives and manipulates Sofia and steals her amulet for personal gain)
Elena: You fucking brat! How dare you take advantage of your own sister’s trust after she’s been nothing but kind to you? Don’t you know how lucky you are? I would do anything to be able to just see my little sister again, talk to her, hug her, know that she’s safe and okay, let alone make her happy myself. You have so much, but you’re too spoiled rotten to appreciate it. You mistreat your family? Fine. Let’s see how you like them being threatened by an evil sorceress trying to take over your kingdom! ‘Cause trust me, it isn’t fun. Learn to be selfless or lose everything you’ve ever had! A BITCH FOR A BITCH!
***
Ivy: (takes the amulet to destroy it, which would kill Elena)
Elena: Shit.
***
Cedric: (deceives and manipulates Sofia and steals her amulet for personal gain)
Elena, who’s been onto him since day one, but feels completely unthreatened: You could be coveting any source of powerful magic, but no, you want the only one that you already know has a moral compass and will curse you for doing wrong. Genuine question: what are you doing with your life? I’m just gonna give you literal sticky fingers, and I’ll revoke that if you’re nice. You obviously don’t need much help to fail.
***
Miranda and Roland: (have sweet, bond-affirming moments with their children as good parents)
Elena: Aw, that’s nice. That’s - that’s nice. I’m fine.
***
Sofia: (is ten)
Elena: I’m so proud of Sofia. I think it’s time to enlist her to release me. Now how can I communicate that? Visions of Shuriki killing my parents and trying to kill me will get her started, right?
#GIVE US THE ELENA COMMENTARY DISNEY#‘elena reacts to sofia the first’ and her spirit in the amulet is pictured in a box at the corner of the screen#but it’s only what’s visible to her#so she doesn’t even have all the context#at the time summoning princess ivy feels very excessive#but then we meet elena and she’s absolutely hot-tempered and impulsive enough to punish a petty ten-year-old like that#sofia the first#elena of avalor#princess sofia#sofia balthazar#elena castillo flores#princess elena

Odd how they have an episode about Sofia being so busy as a princess, but then seem to not address it when she becomes even more busy with all these other things! This different approach would also be a good lesson for the children watching the show (since this is aimed at kids after all), especially ones who have high expectations of themselves (or have had those high expectations placed on themselves by others) that you don't have to take on every burden on your own, because Sofia clearly thinks that she must do that!
I didn't like that she became a Protector in the finale. I was okay with her being a trainee, but being the sole Protector of a whole realm at the age of eleven is too much.
Does Sofia have too much on her plate and is she putting too much pressure on herself ?
I apologise in advice for this post being so long. I tried to make it as short as possible while still getting my points across but this was the best I could do. On with the post :)
I think a common complaint about the show is that Sofia has been given too much responsibility for someone of her age. If she was older I don’t think fans would complain so much but because she’s the age that she is , people consider this a little bit too much for a kid to handle all at once.
Between the ages of 8 to 11 , her three main occupations have been her being a Princess , a story keeper and a Protector.

Other occupations she has had are her being a buttercup scout , a member of a the Merry band of helping hands , a flying derby racer for Royal Prep , Cedric’s apprentice and a member of the princess adventure club.

All these occupations fit Sofia’s character quite well but because of her role as a princess, a story keeper and a protector, it’s surprising how Sofia is able to do all these things without feeling burned out or frustrated with all that she has to do. She has however put a lot of pressure on herself to be the best that she can be and has kept her role as a story keeper and a protector a secret. This is what I want to talk about :)
I believe the reason why Sofia has kept these two occupations a secret is because she has put too much pressure upon herself. But I also believe its because she’s being too protective.
Protectiveness
The secret of Avalor -When Sofia is sent to Avalor by the secret library to free Elena, Amber asks Sofia why she won’t tell them the reason they need to hide. Sofia however responds back by saying “Its for your own good, trust me”. Later though , Sofia’s family end up being captured and Sofia hopes there all okay in her absence.

Later , their all freed and Miranda tells Sofia that she should have told them what was going on. Sofia responds back with “I know, I just wanted to keep you all out of trouble”.

This shows that Sofia just wanted to keep her family safe and out of the situation as much as possible.
Even though Sofia has kept her family out of the storybook missions before this one, I believe the events that took place in Avalor made Sofia believe even more that she shouldn’t let her family get involved.
Tale of the Eternal torch - When Sofia finds out that James was in the trunk of her carriage to the Blazing Palisades without her knowing , she was not too happy by the fact that he tagged along.

And when James says he will be a big help , Sofia doesn’t respond to this and just looks worried.

A few moment later , James and Sofia spot the sea monsters and while James is enthused by this , Sofia is more focused on how dangerous this all might be.
James - “Dragons and sea monsters , oh this is getting better by the minute.”
Sofia - “And more dangerous. I have to warn the dragons about the sea monsters”
James again offers to help but Sofia sighs and reluctantly tells him – “I guess it’s too late to take you back now”.

The mystic isles – When Amber discovers the secret library , Sofia is pretty persistent on her going back but Amber puts her foot down and goes with Sofia to the library anyway. After the library tells them that Sofia needs to go to the Mystic isles , Amber wants to come along too but one of the reasons Sofia gives Amber not to go Is that it could be dangerous.

Sofia obviously doesn’t like getting her family involved in storybook missions due to how dangerous they may be but even as a protector , she chooses not to tell them about the wicked nine or how she is now the protector of the ever realm because she is still being protective. Again, Sofia doesn’t want the people she cares about to get involved.
In Cedric we trust – After they all encounter shots of lighting from Prisma and Cedric risks his own safety for Sofia , Cedric asks both Roland and Sofia who that woman was but instead of confessing all that she knows about Prisma , she keeps quiet and looks happy when Roland confesses he doesn’t know who she is and leaves it at that. She then later privately speaks to the protectors without them knowing.

Even though Sofia learned that its sometimes best to let the people you care about aware of what’s really going on so they don’t get into even more danger in the episode “The secret of Avalor” , Sofia’s protectiveness over her family and friends is still keeping her from getting them involved in her missions.
Too much pressure upon herself
While I have no problem with any of the occupations that Sofia has had , it is a bit concerning that Sofia puts so much pressure upon herself and doesn’t let others know what she is going through. What makes things more difficult for Sofia is that her three main occupations of being a princess , a storykeeper and a Protector , have all been things that have been placed upon her.
She never wanted to be a princess but because of her sudden change of lifestyle she knew she had to try her best to adapt to this new lifestyle weather she liked it or not.
As story keeper , it was something Tilly asked her to be just like Orion asked Sofia to be a protector. That’s not to say that Sofia didn’t agree to be either of these things, but it wasn’t like they were future careers she had been longing to have. She accepted these occupations more so out of the goodness of her heart and because she wanted to help people.
But by her accepting all these reasonability’s in a short time frame, she’s only been putting more and more pressure upon herself.
Princess
When Miranda married King Roland , Sofia became a princess and there wasn’t anything she could really do about it. Once she got to the castle , Sofia didn’t feel ready to be a princess , she thought it was all too much and as time went on she felt like being a princess was really hard. The only thing Miranda could really do in the situation was advise her to just do her best and tell her that it’s not her problem if stuffy dukes and duchesses don’t think what she does is good enough. Miranda even tries to give Sofia something she’s familiar with by inviting Ruby and Jade over to cheer her up.

And even though things worked out as well as they could for Sofia by the end of the movie , its shown in the episode “Moms the word” that she still misses her old life in the village where it was just her and her mum and that in the episode “The princess test”, Sofia still sometimes felt like she wasn’t a proper princess and that she had to keep on proving that she belonged because she wasn’t born into royalty.
Sofia : “A proper princess would have done the polite thing and let you go first”
Higgins : “Oh don’t be silly , you are a proper princess”
Sofia : “Not really. At least , I don’t always feel that way”
Higgins : “Why what do you mean ?”
Sofia : “I wasn’t born a princess. And sometimes I feel like I have to keep proving I belong”

Even though season one primarily demonstrates Sofia’s need to fit in as a princess more than the other seasons, in season 3 she still states that she’s still getting used to being one , showing deep down she still needs adjusting. Which is fair enough as when Sofia first became a princess , she had a lot of changes she needed to adjust to such as moving house , becoming apart of a new family , going to a new school ,making new friends , living in a higher society and taken on the responsibilities of a princess.
But as far as I’m aware , I believe the reason Sofia felt like she didn’t belong with royalty was more so out of her own insecurities. Apart from Amber in the episode Once upon a princess where she didn’t want Sofia around for insecure reasons , no one has discriminated Sofia for being born in the village and not having royal blood.
Story keeper
When Tilly says it’s up to Sofia to save Mazzimo and help him get to Wildwing Valley , Sofia isn’t sure if she can do it. Tilly understands that being story keeper isn’t easy but tries to reassure Sofia that she can do it while stating its more about if she will do it than if she can do it.
Sofia : “I’m not sure I can do this”
Tilly : “I know , being storybook keepr is not easy” But you can do it Sofia , or you wouldn’t be here. So the real question isn’t can you do it , its will you do it ?
Sofia thinks it over a little but ultimately decides that she will do it. Tilly however can still sense that Sofia isn’t confident in herself to do it all by herself so she decides to tag along this one time to help her get started.

During the mission , Mazzimo and Minimus get captured by Prince Roderick and they lose Tilly’s bag. Sofia tries to find it but soon tells her self that she’s no story book keeper, making it clear to the audience that she doesn’t think she’s good enough to be one.
Sofia : “ Oh I can’t do this, I cant do any of this. I’m no story keeper”

Merida then gets summoned by the amulet to tell Sofia that she can save them herself but Sofia confesses that she’s still getting used to being a princess and that if she can’t even finish this story then there’s no chance she can finish the rest in the library.
Merida : “What you need can only be found with in you”
Sofia : “What’s that ? ”
Merida : “The belief that you can save them yourself”
Sofia : “That’s just it. I’m still getting used to being a princess, how am I supposed to finish all those stories in the library if I cant even finish this one”

At this point in the series Sofia doubts that she’s even good enough for the job and thinks she isn’t ready to take on the responsibility. Being asked to be the story keeper might have been a bit too much for Sofia to handle at this stage in her life. Which is pretty understandable considering her age and what pressure she has already put herself through as a princess.
When Tilly became Story keeper , she was older than sixteen whereas Sofia was given the job as a child.

It doesn’t really seem fair on Sofia that Tilly was much older than she was when starting out but at the end of the day Sofia chooses to carry on being the story keeper and decides to keep it a secret from her family.
Protector
So far Sofia has the responsibilities of being a princess and a story keeper but now that she has excepted the occupation of a protector, that’s even more responsibility that Sofia has to deal with.

The fact that the protectors ask a 11 year old to protect the entire Ever realm is quite absurd considering their all adults and they have a number of protectors protecting the Mystic isles but if Sofia is already putting pressure on herself to be a good princess and a good story keeper , deep down Sofia is probably putting pressure on herself to be a good protector too. Being a protector is something she takes very seriously and the fact that she’s the first non-magical creature to become a protector will only fuel Sofia’s self-pressure even more.
But why is Sofia putting all this pressure upon herself ? Well , as a character Craig describes Sofia as a striver , someone who is worried about doing a great job and someone who wonders if their good enough.

But Sofia also tends to want to please others and to fit in. These reasons would certainly explain why she puts so much pressure on herself to be a good princess but what are the reasons behind her putting so much pressure on herself as a story keeper.
I think its because of the fact that Sofia has been led to believe that she is the only one who is capable of saving the day and that there is some unknown reason as to why the amulet has chosen her rather than anyone else.
Tilly makes out that being the story keeper is Sofia’s destiny and that because the amulet led Sofia to the library , that’s why she had been chosen.
And while Merida gave Sofia good advice , Sofia might have gotten the wrong end of the stick when Merida told her “The belief that you can save them yourself” as Sofia might have interpreted this as that she has to do it herself. This in turn makes Sofia sing the words “I’m the one that has to save the day” after she had been motivated to carry on being the story keeper.

Sofia believing there is an unknown reason as to why the amulet chose her to have this role is later explored In the episode the Mystic isles where she is tells Amber that she isn’t sure why the amulet chose her.
Sofia – “Somehow my amulet decided that I was to become the story keeper, now it’s my job to make sure the stories in the secret library get a happy ending.”
Amber – “So your amulet glows and leads you here to this secret library which is filled with stories that you need to finish”
Sofia – “I don’t know why , it just happened”
She then later shoots down Amber’s request to go with her by saying she’s the story book keeper and not Amber.
Sofia - “Amber you cant go with me”
Amber – “Why not”
Sofia – “Because I’m the story keeper , not you”

This shows that Sofia has really accepted the idea that this is her destiny and that this role of hers is something that she should bear the responsibility with herself and not put on other’s.
So all in all , Sofia puts too much on her shoulders , puts too much pressure upon herself and needs to be less secretive.
I believe her role as story keeper and a protector will be relieved in the final “Forever Royal” but if there was one person that could show Sofia the error of her ways and can relate to Sofia’s ordeal the most , it would be Cedric. Hear me out :)
Before the incident Cedric felt pressure to be a great sorcerer like his father and after the incident , everyone put a lot of pressure on him to be something great. Like Sofia , Cedric has felt pressure to be the best at what he is meant to be from an early age and has put pressure on himself to prove people wrong.

Cedric is also a tad secretive like Sofia as he didn’t express enough what he was going through emotionally and kept his intention on taking over the kingdom a secret but once all was revealed , things have been getting better and better for him thanks to Sofia’s help.
Keeping this in mind Cedric could ultimately be the one to show Sofia that its not good to put so much pressure on yourself and that it will benefit her much more if she is more honest and less secretive about what she is up too :)

But those are just my thoughts. What do you guys think about how many roles Sofia has had or how much pressure she has been under :)
#i didn't understand some of the things in the finale#showing how sofia's protector thing is interrupting her princess life and all#but then making her a full on protector at the end of the finale#kinda odd...#sofia the first#the mystic isles#amulet of avalor#forever royal#princess sofia#cedric the sorcerer#this is a child#apologies for my unneeded yapping

When inside the amulet, Elena can control/influence its powers. Would this mean that Vor could have been able to do that too, if Sofia hadn't been pulled in as well and destroyed Vor?
I wonder if Sofia thought about this possibility when making her plan. I totally understand if she didn't think that far ahead, considering she needed to act quickly in the face of an immediate and growing threat.
This makes me think of an alternate ending; one where Sofia didn't get pulled into the amulet. She rejoices as Vor is finally in the amulet, turns it green, the ending is the same with her getting Protector status, and no one yet suspects that anything will go wrong...until it does. Horribly.

#elena could give curses#what makes you think vor can't#anyways this is fun to think about but like i do wanna think more about amulet lore#like maybe vor may not be able to do anything at all unlike elena#who knows#we certainly will never know for sure#sofia the first#the amulet of avalor#sofia the first au#forever royal#nox.txt

And another one, that was not only Jossed, but deleted. :(
This particular WMG being about who Cedric might summon if he got the Amulet, if you're wondering.
Does anyone else think it's a crying shame that this particular Sofia the First WMG was Jossed?

Sofia The First - Get That/My Amulet (Storyboards)
So, the thing is: These storyboards can only be accessed via a Wayback Machine link. The original site has been deleted and this is the only way to access it. When I go to the website to see the storyboards and it takes a while to load, I'm always afraid that it's been deleted. So to not lose the STF storyboards, I decided to post them here on Tumblr as a backup. The quality isn't that good because Tumblr's image limit is 10, and these storyboards in total have almost 60 images, so I tried to put them all in the same images (it worked, but they're small). All credit goes to the artists who worked on the project and Disney.

this last screenshot is a pic I took of the website! to give credits!

The Amulet of Avalor and the 'Disney' princesses
So, I've talked a bit about how confusing the Amulet of Avalor is from a storytelling perspective (see these two posts).
But the amulet's lore regarding princesses is REALLY confusing. @nox-in-a-box brought this up this morning on Discord (comparing dialogue about how the amulet connects princesses in s3's 'Beauty Is the Beast' and the 'Once Upon a Princess' pilot);
And this inspired me to talk about how confusing the overall connection between the amulet and princesses is (both as part of that conversation earlier with Nox on Discord and in this post rn), because it's definitely something I've thought about often!
Ok, so. (1) We know none of the 'Disney' princesses wore the Amulet of Avalor in their og canon films.
(2) So, how did they know about the amulet and that it magically summoned them to help Sofia?
(3) How did each princess that was summoned to Sofia know Sofia's name, and even in some occasions, what her problem was?
(4) Referring to question #3 directly above, I always assumed this was part of the amulet's magic, automatically allowing a summoned princess to know the name of the other princess in need of help/advice when they arrived... but then, how come during the few times Sofia's amulet summoned her to help another princess, she never automatically knew anything about that princess's name or situation? She had to have them told to her.
(5) And I know the whole discussion of how the Disney princesses fit into the StF universe has been discussed to death, but I feel like that's all part of the plotholes in the lore that connects the amulet to all the princesses. I personally think they're not spirits... but that each of them exist in their own separate realms beyond the EverRealm (but even this theory makes you scratch your head when you think about how a couple of them come from RL locations on Earth, like Scotland and New Orleans), and that each of them and their respective adventures are legends/fairytales in the EverRealm...
(6) ...(to continue directly from #5) But even that doesn't entirely make sense, because how do you explain the three Good Fairies at Royal Prep (who are ofc associated with Aurora), and the Wicked Nine from s4's Mystic Isles/Protector arc (nine powerful artifacts belonging nine of the most evil Disney villains)?? Heck, the crown of Snow White's evil queen stepmother, which was also one of the Wicked Nine, was part of the Dunwiddie Museum's crown exhibit in 'In Cedric We Trust' (which raises SO many questions in itself)!
