Calliope’s name was inspired by mythology and they are as interesting, creative and ancient as their namesake. The second child of Ignatious Malfoy and his wife Asteria Malfoy, Calliope escaped any of the weight of their family name felt by their elder sibling LACHESIS MALFOY [sibling]. Instead, Calliope preferred to exercise themselves creatively, intent on using the Malfoy name to gain access to the most lavish theatres and dance halls the Wizarding World had to offer. Calliope spent their childhood writing elaborate scripts and monologues they would perform for their family and working away on songs by the piano under the strict gaze of their music teacher. Unlike many Sacred Twenty-Eight families, Calliope had noticed that their parents encouraged their children to follow their respective passions. Whilst they overheard the Black family at parties dreaming up the fates of their children, Ignatious and Astreia knew their children would achieve greatness, the area in question being entirely up to them. 

Due to their respective passions, Calliope grew up close to Lachesis. Respective right and left brain thinkers, they could always count on Lachesis for a fresh perspective on a piece of work or an idea, whilst they could count on Calliope to flip a rigid plan upside down and look at it from a more interesting perspective. Lachesis was their first friend in the world and Calliope was loyal to them to the end, which meant a united front on putting their cousin LUCIUS MALFOY [cousin] in his place. In an ideal world Calliope may have been friends with their cousin, their shared love of peacocking might have been enough to bond them; but the look in his eye as he attempted to get one over on their sibling was enough to rub Calliope the wrong way. From the age of seven, Calliope had known they were a metamorphmagus using their abilities to shift form to play various characters in their childhood productions, they also found it came in handy for giving their cousin a fright at opportune moments they had no doubt had a lasting impression on Lucius. 

Like the majority of their family, Calliope was placed in Slytherin when arriving at Hogwarts and quickly fell into a pre-approved group of friends including ALECTO CARROW [friend], her brother AMYCUS CARROW [friend] and THROFINN ROWLE [friend]. The group was far more troublesome than Calliope liked, like their friends they had a fondness for making the right sort of people feel small, and whilst they occasionally used their powers to turn into a clown or jack-in-the-box and frighten unsuspecting classmates, Calliope preferred to use their creative and academic prowess to beat others into submission and was known for doing their best to be heard above the noise of JAMES POTTER [adversary], SIRIUS BLACK [adversary], PETER PETTIGREW [adversary] and REMUS LUPIN [adversary] they had the displeasure of sharing a year group with. Their main annoyance however came in the form of a muggle-born Gryffindor witch from their year group named MAREN ROSMERTA [adversary]. 

A friend of the marauders, Calliope met Maren through choir and immediately disliked her. It was strange to them that a muggle-born could be so talented and so beloved, but it didn’t just irritate Calliope. Younger Slytherin ELEANOR YAXLEY [best friend] shared their bitter hatred for Maren, and the two found common ground and a blossoming friendship through their deep hatred of her. Through Eleanor, Calliope found themselves associating with a new group of people, becoming close friends with Eleanor’s twin brother VICTOR YAXLEY [close friend], REGULUS BLACK [close friend] and half-blood SEVERUS SNAPE [close friend] from their own year. Calliope was surprised they would be able to befriend a half-blood, having staunch opinions on blood purity that had been handed down to them by their family, but Severus was quietly calculated much like themself and Calliope appreciated anyone who shared their dislike for those who did not belong in the spotlight, like the marauders and their irritating gang of fans. 

Upon leaving school there was only one career that Calliope and that was one on the stage. Their family name was synonymous with political ambition and meddling due to rumours floating around that their father and their uncle Abraxas had been involved in the ousting of a previous Minister for Magic. Not that Calliope would care to admit it, but they were glad of how much their cousin Lucius had done to pave the way into changing this image. Lucius had many key figures in their world in their pocket and whilst Calliope was not known for their warmth toward him, they were happy to use his name as and when to make connections in the theatrical world, eventually landing themselves in shows at The Beausoleil Theatre. Whilst not the biggest name in Wizarding London, no one can deny Calliope dedication to their craft, especially older stories and their ability to change their features to commit to a role have made them a beloved presence on the stage and a crowd favourite. But as well as being an actor, Calliope has much more going on in their world and furthering their families political careers is one of them. 

It was their father’s wish as he lay old and imbolie in his bed that Calliope and Lachesis follow Lucius in joining THE DARK LORD [leader] in his quest for power. Whilst being part of an anarchist political group was not part of Calliope’s initial plans for their future, they understood the importance of securing the Malfoy family at the top and more importantly seating Lachesis close by his side. New to the death eaters, Calliope likes to see themself as Lachesis special weapon, having shifted into multiple people to help their sibiling. DOLORES UMBRIDGE [person of interest], Calliope slipped her a potion and sat in on an important meeting to feedback to their sibling, once they even became HARRISON BAGNOLD [person of interest] just to see how much his mother might say. But now their time has come to aid The Dark Lord himself and when a letter arrived for Calliope to cause some chaos at The Spring Solstice with their sibling, they couldn’t say no. Not only a name on the stage, Calliope has plans to be known within their new group and this is the perfect way to get the Malfoy sibilings on the map and out of Lucius’ shadow.

As far as Eleanor can tell, no one quite gets twins like another twin. People ask questions and make assumptions but no one truly understands what it’s like to have someone at your side, pretty much from the moment you’re born. Or a few few minutes after in Eleanor’s case. It was half the reason she always thought that her and Victor both got on so well with the Carrow twins. Despite being vastly different, they were both friends with Alecto and Amycus, another pair of boy and girl twins. The point being, twins have a certain connection that others can’t fathom and this connection was leaving a pit in Eleanor’s stomach. 

It always happened really, when she hadn’t seen him in a while, finding the separation a bit unnatural from someone she quite literally shared a womb with. Usually nothing was wrong, but he had just been drawing away from her more than ever lately and the feeling left her on edge. It was this feeling that finally pushed her enough to talk to Alecto, when she noticed her finishing up her shift at the same time. She grabbed her coat and folded it over her arm as she walked towards the red head, a smile already on her face though the nerves in her stomach only grew. This time not over her brother, but how long it had been since she had had a proper conversation with Alecto.

“Hey,” she greeted, running a hand through her hair. “Busy shift tonight?” she asked conversationally. “It looked chaotic from the stage but you know they never put enough staff on Friday nights.”

AMYCUS CARROW is TWENTY-FOUR YEARS OLD and a BARMAN at THE GRAVE AFFAIR in KNOCKTURN ALLEY. He looks remarkably like DACRE MONTGOMERY and considers himself NEUTRAL. He is currently OPEN.

The strong, silent and sadistic type, Amycus Carrow has always enjoyed feeling like the most powerful person in the room, no matter what it takes for him to gain that feeling he craves. The eldest child of IRIS HOOKUM and EROS CARROW, Amycus has always been someone who liked to cause mischief but knew when exactly to step aside and allow everyone around him to take the fall when the going gets tough. A strong yet silent charmer, despite his beauty Amycus has been used to being slightly overlooked due to the large personality of his twin sister ALECTO. A few minutes separate Amycus from his younger sister, though in his mind it might as well have been a decade. His best friend from the moment she was born, Amycus wasn’t exactly certain when he had made the pact with himself to protect Alecto but he has spent a lifetime looking out for her and oftentimes taking the brunt of punishment for her actions. A schemer, Amycus enjoyed playing small pranks on the elves they had working at Carrow House. Curious about their magic, Amycus enjoyed prodding the elves to see what magic they might use against him and if despite his youth he would be able to counter their magic. The game between him and the elves was one of cat and mouse and began his interest in pressing the buttons of others to gauge how much he would get away with. For Amycus it was all about power. How much power could he wield over others and what he had in his possession.

When some elves were promptly punished and dismissed by his mother for their insolence, he didn’t feel sorrow as many children did. Amycus felt pride. Proud he had engineered such an encounter and interested to see what else he could get away with. Alecto also enjoyed punishing the house elves, though Amycus noted that it came from a completely different place for his sister. Alecto was consumed with rage, enjoying the pain she inflicted on others and doing anything in her power to feel the thrill of the reactions she garnered from both the elves and their family. At first, his mother presumed Alecto to be behaving out of childish wickedness, but as she got older it hinted as something a little darker. Alecto loved chaos and to be the master of it sitting at the helm and watching drama unfold before her pale green eyes. Despite his sister being quite willing to throw him under the Knight Bus headed straight for London in order to get out of trouble, Amycus felt very protective over her. If Alecto took some scissors to his mother’s gowns in anger, Amycus was found holding them. She wanted to eat biscuits before dinner, he was caught by their father getting them off the shelf and passing them to his sister. Having a very mischievous side, Amycus was always happy to aid Alecto in any of her schemes and took little to no persuasion to be part of her double act, but when their parents eyes focused in on them, Alecto was quick to point the finger and Amycus was happy for her to do it.

They were different in their pursuits of chaos. Amycus liked to get his hands dirty, Alecto preferred to watch other people carry out her dirty work for her. Alecto was the only person he would ever take the heat for, otherwise Amycus was quite a selfish person but his selflessness for his sister cost him his relationship with his father to a degree. Alecto was their father’s undisputed favourite, whilst Amycus held the favour of their mother. Though both the twins were high spirited, Amycus was more predictable than his sister. Away at school, he continued his role of keeper to Alecto. Slotting into a group of mischievous fellow Slytherins which jettisoned off NARCISSA BLACK’s court of subjects, drawing out the cruelty in an otherwise subdued VICTOR YAXELY and giving WILLIAM GOYLE and outlet for all of his most wicked thoughts and feelings. Narcissa might have ruled Slytherin with a cold heart and an iron fist, but Amycus and Alecto left people running scared. Muggle-Borns in particular ran in fear, but some fought back. MEAGHAN MCCORMACK was particularly mouthy, but Amycus enjoyed seeing how his persistence might mentally break her down. That was Amycus bread and butter long before he would learn of the unforgivable curses, toying with the kids of others like a cat with a ball. Even his own friends weren’t safe. Amycus had long suspected his best friend Victor as having feelings for him which Amycus mainly entertained for his own enjoyment. 

The reality of it was Amycus was only drawn in by people of strength and whilst most people found Victor’s twin sister ELEANOR YAXLEY unbearable, Amycus could see more of a future with her due to her unwillingness to be walked on. Amycus had a very high opinion of himself and whilst he has enjoyed various flings throughout his life, he truly believes no one is his intellectual match. At school, this high opinion of himself manifested in his attitude to teachers, constant trips in and out of detention hindering his grades and stunting whatever natural ability he had. Despite being a talented wizard, his arrogance and willingness to protect his sister above all else ensured his future would only ever be as the head of Carrow House. Alecto by his side and elves at their back and call it was enough for him, but his mother wanted more for her children. The Carrow twins might have been horrible characters but they were very beautiful and from a Sacred Twenty-Eight family which instantly made them desirable prospects for people who might try and tame them or had aspirations of marrying into an elite family. Eros had very little interest in marrying off his children, but cared about the continuation of their line and needed at least one child to carry it forward. Amycus had very little interest in children and was bored by the idea of marriage but allowed his mother to do her very best to try and match them up with someone.

If Amycus was to marry he wanted a challenge and would only settle for his equal in charm, beauty, blood and intellect, which was a fairly tall order. PERSEPHONE WILKES was a witch who liked things her own way and played second fiddle to no one which Amycus found interesting. Over the course of their courtship, Amycus tried his best to get in her head and under her skin, but only found boredom and distain from her. Tired, he focused his attention on trying to steal away THORFINN ROWLE from under ANASTASIA DUPONT’s nose but that only entertained him for so long. Iris was irritated by his behaviour who seemingly was showing the door to any suitor who knocked on it including Victor Yaxley but at the very least someone was there knocking. No one was even stupid enough to try to make a play for his sister and this realisation made his mother resort to desperate actions. Urging Eros to join the poker nights of CECCILY GREENGRASS, CYGNUS BLACK, WALBURGA BLACK, ILLAR TRAVERS and EELIS BURKE in the hopes of marrying off Alecto. It was eventually decided Alecto would be passed off to CAIUS BURKE, filling their mother wit joy, Alecto with anger and Amycus into fits of laughter. With his mother drawing up a contract with the Burke family, Amycus was left to his own devices, as was his father who had gotten a real taste for gambling whilst the back of his family was turned. Quietly, Eros had been getting a hole of debt which saw Ceccily Greengrass in possession of their home and demanding money from the family they no longer had. It wasn’t long before RITA SKEETER found out and it became known the family was broke. 

Alecto lost her contract, powerful people lost interest in Amycus and suddenly they had nothing. Power and status was everything to Amycus and now the stares of fear and admiration in his friends and foe had been replaced by pity. He was disgusted. Like a flash, his life had changed. He was the heir of Carrow House and now he was serving drinks to his friends at The Grave Affair. His reputation had followed him and his sister and it seemed that only CHRISTIANO and ANDRESSA PARKINSON felt pity for their situation. Amycus and Alecto did their best to pass their sentence working at the bar, conning people out of their money and mixing drinks that were so strong they could knock you out to those they despised. It was a small shred of what he had but it didn’t make him happy. Then one day he set his sights on someone who brought a glimmer of hope back into his life. LUCILLE JONES was a slightly older witch with so much self-confidence she seemed like a tough nut to crack.   Harry Potter Cast and Crew

Before we get into new projects, we've got some disappointing news for Shirley Henderson (Moaning Myrtle). She was set to lead a prequel series called Dune: The Sisterhood, but her role has been recast as part of a creative reshuffle in the project. The HBO Max show started production in November, but the reshuffle will mean a departure for Henderson, creator and co-showrunner Diane Ademu-Jones, and director Johan Renck.

Dame Julie Walters (Molly Weasley) has also dropped out of a project. We told you about her role as Phil back in May for Channel 4's drama Truelove, but unfortunately, she's had to pull out due to severe back pain. Filming will recommence later this year in Bristol after a nine-month gap. We hope that she has a quick recovery.

In more positive news, we have a new project for Stephen Fry (narrator of the Harry Potter audiobooks). He's set to host an ITV reboot of the classic gameshow Jeopardy!. Fry explained how he is "dizzy with delight" at the thought of hosting the show, explaining how he does his "damnedest to catch it every weekday" whenever he is in America.

  Such a dedicated quizzing nation as ours will, I hope, welcome this uniquely beguiling and endlessly rewarding game. 

  Next up we've got an announcement from Ciaran Hinds (Aberforth Dumbledore). He's joined the cast of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power for its second season on Amazon Prime! We have no details on his character yet, but we do know he'll be a frequent resident of Middle Earth. The show is set for release in 2024.

Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) has been involved in a charity campaign with Peta. The campaign involves a video in which Cave stars alongside several animal puppets, all of whom have various afflictions due to the animal-made clothing industry. Peta is currently asking CBBC to show the video to teach children about where their clothes truly come from.

    Do you remember when we told you about Robert Eggers's upcoming film Nosferatu, which is being produced by Chris Columbus (director of the first two Harry Potter films) and his daughter Eleanor Columbus (Susan Bones)? Even more Wizarding World alums have joined the cast. Announced at the start of the month alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), Ralph Ineson and Simon McBurney (Amycus Carrow and Kreacher respectively) will join the remake.

Adrian Rawlins (Amos Diggory) has also been cast in a new project this month. He'll feature in Mary & George, a Sky historical psychological drama about Mary Villiers, a woman who used her son to become one of the most powerful people in the English monarchy during James I's reign. The show is based on The King's Assassin, a book written by Benjamin Woolley.

We have a release date for The Ghost of Richard Harris! The feature-length documentary about the life of the late Richard Harris (Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter movies) will debut on Britbox on May 9.  It will tell the life story of Harris, who played several other iconic roles besides our beloved headmaster.

We've got a new project for David Bradley (Filch) up next. He features in My Sister's Bones, which is an upcoming psychological thriller adapted from Nuala Ellwood's book of the same name. Production for the film wrapped earlier this month, and some first-look images have been released from the set.

  We've got two announcements for David Tennant (Barty Crouch Jr.). He took part in this year's Red Nose Day for Comic Relief show, and we've got a video of his arrival! In true Wizarding World form, he apparates into the dressing room of Sir Lenny Henry to take his place as a host for the live show. The video also gives us another glimpse of Tennant into his fourteenth Doctor as he rocks up in costume. Check it out below.

    The second Tennant announcement is a new role. He'll take on the role of the controller of an independent TV franchise in Rivals, a new Disney+ show based on Jilly Cooper's novel of the same name. The show also stars Danny Dyer (Eastenders), Alex Hassell (Violent Night), and Aidan Turner (Poldark).

Fantastic Beasts Cast and Crew

Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander) is set to lead a new TV series adapted from a class book and film.  He'll take on the role of one of pop culture's most famous assassins in a new take in The Day of the Jackal. The show will enter production later this year and will show on Sky in the UK and Peacock in the US.

Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein) also announced a new project this month. She released a music video for her new song Come On Baby, which is off her upcoming autobiographical album Still Come the Night. The video shows an intimate story about healing after experiencing the emotional pain of a miscarriage. You can watch the video below.

    Cursed Child Cast and Crew

Last but not least we've got a collaboration between producer Sonia Friedman and Cursed Child co-writer Jack Thorne. They're taking a trip to the Upside Down with Stranger Things: The First Shadow, a new prequel stage show from the Stranger Things universe. Tickets for the show were released earlier this month, with a preview run starting on the West End on November 17 and the play showing in full from December 13.

Alecto wasn’t a planned or wanted child. They were a surprise addition to the heir that the Carrow’s needed. This would have frustrated Alecto more if Amycus hadn’t technically been the older child, and would have always been the heir. In actual fact, the whole situation enabled Alecto to live a rather chaotic, and enjoyable life. Of course, Alecto’s mother tried to tame them, seeing Alecto as a way of marrying into a respectable family and knowing the qualities that would prove successful. But Alecto was untamable. Their mother had practically given up by the time the twins got to Hogwarts. They had quite an unruly and chaotic reputation, and that was not going to change. 

Alecto didn’t immediately look for a job after graduating, managing to manipulate their father into buying an empty storefront in Kncokturn Alley. Alecto may not have been great with magic but they were able to manipulate people into dedicating their time to them. The storefront has been paid off, just waiting for Alecto to decide what to do with it.

The last thing on Alecto’s mind had been finding a spouse. But Walden Macnair was someone that they had just clicked with. As a pair, they have made a lethal combination within the Dark Lord’s' forces. Whilst Alecto had initially taken the mark just for the chaos it would enable them to have, they quickly found themselves falling in place alongside Walden and Bellatrix in pairings to do the Dark Lord biddings. For a person that had been born unwanted, it feels good to be up there on the top.

Walden Macnair - The marriage was a setup that no one in the pureblood community would have expected to balance out. Walden has proven to be a doting spouse and hides an intensity that can match Alecto’s. They make a great pair and have proven to be one of the stronger forces in the Dark Lord’s cause.

Bellatrix Lestrange - Bellatrix has taken Alecto under their wing, determined to mold the younger death eater into their prodigy. The pair is pretty lethal, balancing out each other’s strengths and weaknesses.

Artemisia Selwyn - Despite not being in the same year or house at Hogwarts, Alecto and Artemisia have been best friends since they were little. They were as inseparable as the Carrow twins were. Of course, that has all changed now. Alecto has pulled away a little, not because they truly want to but because it’s expected that they will. The Dark Lord used Artemisia as a warning and Alecto cannot pity them for that reason.

Positive Traits: Cunning,  Determined, Ambitious, Imaginative, Flirtatious Negative Traits: Manipulative,  Chaotic, Irresponsible, Resentful, Sneaky Summary: Alecto is a girl that is mostly known for her negative traits. She’s a chaotic individual, who rarely listens to anything that anyone tells her. She’s easily resentful, with it being easy for someone to get onto her bad side. And her bad side is really hard to get off of. She’s manipulative, and flirtatious, and she uses both to her advantage. She knows exactly how to get what she wants, and she isn’t afraid to do whatever it takes.

One would say that Alecto Carrow has no real positive traits. But she does. In some twisted sense of the world. She’s an ambitious and determined person, which mostly stems from growing up being not wanted, or planned. Her father never cared for her, and it made Alecto just desire to prove that he had been wrong about her. In actual fact, Alecto is determined to prove everyone that she is more than just a girl that was unwanted by her parents.

Not merely just a sum of the traits that people put on her, Alecto is a force to be reckoned with, and is a person that isn’t going to let anyone’s views of her change who she is. Mostly because she likes herself exactly as she is.

Growing up:

Alecto was never a wanted child, and she certainly wasn’t planned for. A surprise addition to the wanted male heir that the Carrows needed. Alecto was just an addition that her father did not want, nor need. Alecto was both a spare, and a girl. She would have been more frustrated with this, if it hadn’t been that technically Amycus had been born first, and thus was actually the heir.

But, Alecto found that she couldn’t actually be annoyed at Amycus. She might be unwanted by her parents, but she never felt that around Amycus. The twins were closer than anything. Alecto loves herself more than anything in this world, but Amycus came in a close second. There is literally nothing that she won’t do for her brother. Throughout their childhood, they came as a pair, and that continued well into adulthood.

Alecto just spent her childhood being a curator of chaos. She loved nothing more than creating chaos, and craziness. She sometimes involved herself, but on occasions she would watch from the side lines. However she planned it, Alecto loved being chaotic. Her mother tried to force her to be a good little pureblood girl, and dress up, and sew.

But Alecto hated that, even going as far as to ruin all her pretty dresses. She was mostly left to her own devices, with a father who didn’t really care, and a mother who did not know how to control her. Another thing that could not be controlled was Alecto’s magic. Even when she got to Hogwarts she was not the best at magic. Luckily, she learnt to control it a little more, but that was about it. She had some talent for potions, but she did not really care enough about her studies to benefit from the talent. Alecto found herself in detention more than anything else. But she kind of didn’t mind that.

During the war:

Alecto left Hogwarts with not many qualifications. She spent more time getting in trouble thar she did concentrating on classes. But Alecto didn’t really need a job. Her family had money after all. Alecto used that money to buy a little bar in Knockturn Alley. She’d found during her Hogwarts days that she could mix a pretty killer cocktail, and so she used these skills to run a successful bar.

Alongside this, Alecto finds herself using her talent for manipulating. For what she lacks in her magical ability, she makes up in her ability to make anyone give or do whatever she wants. It was this specific talent of Alecto’s that caught the attention of the dark lord. She might not be the best fighter, but she has a mind, and a manipulating talent that can be as deadly as the killing curse. Alecto knows that sometimes simply threatening people with a wand doesn’t work, and for those times, she is there.

And Alecto quite liked being with the death eaters. The Carrow family had always believed in blood purity, and Alecto had always thought she was better than a lot of people in this world. But, the opportunity to cause chaos was something that Alecto would always take. She enjoyed being causing chaos, and just being present when things went to hell. She might not have been the best fighter, but she was useful. And boy did she make sure people knew that.

Alecto loved life though. If she wasn’t in the bar manipulating people into spending money, then she was off causing chaos for the Dark Lord. It was a good life.

The present:

Or it had been going well. Until Bellatrix Lestrange named her as a co-conspirator in the attacks on Frank and Alice Longbottom. Alecto was never one to actually not take credit for something that she was actually involved in. But the main problem she had here was she actually had nothing to do with the attacks. It was hilarious that Bellatrix had even considered Alecto to have the magical capabilities to participate in this dreadful attack. Torturing, whilst enjoyable, was not exactly Alecto’s branch of magic.

But still, she was arrested, and holed up into the Ministry. She’d thought it would be a night, a few days maximum. They’d ask her brother for an alibi, and once it had been cleared up, she’d be home. Because, the thing was, Alecto had actually been with Amycus that night. She’d been nowhere near the Longbottom’s, and for once, not actually causing any chaos.

It was a surprise to her when in fact the ministry did in fact not call upon Amycus at all. They didn’t strive to find out if Alecto was actually involved, even when she’d said that she’d been at her shared flat with Amycus all evening. Instead, the Ministry just believed Bellatrix, and Alecto was imprisoned in Azkaban indefinitely.

To say that Alecto is furious is an understatement. She really cannot recall being this mad at all previously in her life. To make matters worse, she is in a cell next to the very woman who put her here in the first place. And boy, has Bellatrix heard her complaining about it. Luckily the other witch does not have her wand, otherwise Alecto probably wouldn’t be around to bitch and moan about the situation.

Alecto is also furious at the Ministry. For an organisation that strives to seek justice, and treat people fairly, Alecto feels they have not treated her very fairly at all. And when she gets out of this cell she is going to seek revenge on everything that has done her wrong.

And it’s not an if she gets out.

It’s when.

Connections

Bellatrix Lestrange - Everything was okay between Alecto and Bellatrix up until the day they ended up in prison. Having been with Eleanora and Amycus the night of the attacks and not having participated has turned Bellatrix into an enemy.

Lilavati Greengrass - The two can play nice when in the public eye, having come across as the best of friends since their early years. It’s all a front with their hiding behind forced pleasantries and backhanded compliments.

Edgar Bones - Talk of a betrothal with Edgar was one that the Carrow and Bones parents played around with for a time. Sides being drawn for the war quickly brought conversation on the matter to an end. The two had several events spent on each other’s arm and were a little close for the sake of getting to know each other if things came down to posing as a happy couple.

Rosalie Flint had lived a charmed life. Born on the sprawling and beautiful Flint estate in Berkshire Rosalie was the only daughter of DIONYSUS FLINT and LOTTE KRAUSE and the jewel in the crown of the Flint family. From a long line of Pure-Blood sorcerers, the Flint family held their name in high regard, only marrying those they believed to be of equal standing in society. The Flint family were influential and intelligent leaders who were highly respected amongst the wizarding world and it was his wish that Rosalie and her older brother DECIUS continue this excellent reputation. When her brother was of schooling age, he was taken from their family home and cast to the far corners of the east wing where he would learn to survive without the love and affection of the family unit. The separation confused Rosalie who spent her time playing in the gardens or taking tea with her mother, sometimes passing her brother when she snuck into his wing and leaving hurt and confused when one of the elves caught her and told her to leave. Rosalie could see how much it hurt her mother being separated from her son and often heard her parents arguing about it and the change that it had made to her son. Rosalie hadn’t known her brother any differently to the way he was, but found him cold and detached, a smaller version of their father almost with impeccable manners and intellect beyond his years. 

The change her mother had seen in her brother made Rosalie think she would be spared the same cruel separation from her mother and father, but she was wrong. When Rosalie was six she was taken and placed in the same wing as Decius with little contact with her parents to harden her up. The time spent with her mother was replaced by tutors and finishing teachers. Rosalie found it difficult. Tears running down her face as she was taught to balance a book on her head and when she said answers incorrectly. But at least for a short while she had her brother. Decius fought for his sister, teaching her things she didn’t quite grasp and drying her tears when she cried. Decius had been a stranger to Rosalie but then he became her best friend. The two forged an unbreakable bond in the halls of their home. When Decius left for Hogwarts it all but broke her heart. But Rosalie knew it wouldn’t do her well to dwell on her sadness. Rosalie was a Flint. Their family didn’t cry, they didn’t crack, they were strong. Alone in Berkshire, Rosalie worked hard to better herself into someone she knew her family could be proud of, working hard each day to learn the history of Hogwarts and do all of the set reading so she would take to being at school like a duck to water. When Rosalie arrived at Hogwarts she felt herself flourish. 

Sorted into Slytherin with her cousin LYRA BRUKE the girls quickly became friends with a few of the students sharing their dorm ANDROMEDA BLACK and ADRASTEIA GREENGRASS and AALIYAH GOSFORTH forging a little gang of Slytherins she felt happy to be around. Her friends brought out a more rebellious streak in her, creating the circles of people she would be in to work including her cousin CAIUS and Decius. Rosalie was naturally more of a wallflower than the rest of her family, though she pulled on her inner Flint strength to work a room and make friends, knowing it was what her family would want from her. An intelligent witch, upon graduation Rosalie dabbled with the idea of taking up a job in the Ministry to make more use of her intellect. She enjoyed research and reading, but over the years had found something she liked more which her family money allowed her to indulge in. Singing. A beautiful songstress with a voice as captivating as a siren’s, after a few rounds of fire whiskey she was the centre of attention at every party, her voice drifting round parties and bars as people listened to her in awe. It was the beauty of her voice that caught the attention of CHRISTIANO PARKINSON, the co-owner of The Grave Affair bar in Knockturn Alley which Rosalie frequented with her friends and family.

Knowing she had a habit of being thrust upon to a stage in the local bars, Christiano heard her singing one night in The Hopping Pot and approached her about a position singing at the club. Naturally, she refused, knowing her family wouldn’t think too favourably about her singing for money in a local bar. Rosalie agreed to sing once a week in The Grave Affair for free, purely due to her love of singing to which Christiano and his sister and fellow co-owner ANDRESSA PARKINSON agreed. Although being the centre of attention wasn’t natural to her, Rosalie enjoyed the feeling that being on stage gave her. When she sang it was simply her, the lights and her voice. Her family and friends cheering from their table was simply an added bonus as was her brother beaming with pride. But it wasn’t just Rosalie’s inner circle who had been watching her closely. JONATHAN REEVES had been in her brother’s year at Hogwarts, a fellow Slytherin that Rosalie had sometimes seen in the common room who she’d seen around Decius and his friends sometimes. A Half-Blood, with a Pure-Blood father who’d fallen in love with a Muggle which he hoped his friends would forget. In Rosalie’s memory Jonathan had been like Decius and his friends, a well groomed party boy but all that suddenly changed and Rosalie stopped seeing him. Then one night he appeared in The Grave Affair, with long hair and a beard but Rosalie recognised him instantly.

Jonathan became a puzzle she wanted to solve, what time he gave her was precious and although he disappeared every so often without a trace it didn’t stop her waiting for him after his shifts and trying to learn as much about him as she could. Whilst potential suitors she’d encountered had appeared peacockish and narcissistic, he was the opposite and what was a blossoming friendship quickly became a hidden romance with Rosalie falling in and out of bars with him behind the back of her family. Jonathan would never be accepted by them due to his blood status, but when Rosalie learned the true reason for his disappearances she knew their romance would be the death of her. The love of her life was a werewolf, registered and living in FENRIR GREYBACK’s pack of wolves who’d taken him in when his parents had kicked him out. Rosalie’s heart bled for him and as much as she loved her family and longed for the approval of her parents, high society slowly faded away in her mind as she fell deeper in love with him. The last few months of her life had been stressful. Hiding her romance from her closest friends and her brother as she tried to juggle the people she loved most in her life whilst trying to remain authentic. Events were the most difficult, where she and Jonathan stole kisses from one another in corridors and exchanged wantan glances and The Yule Ball was no different.

There she had stood, wrapped in the arms of the person she loved, only to be confronted by HARRISON BAGNOLD, a wicked look in his eye as he pointed his wand at Jonathan. Instinctively, Rosalie dived in front of him, not quick enough to pull out her wand and took the hit of the curse. Her body went cold and as she felt the light leave her eyes, the only thing in her heart was love and the painful knowledge she’d never see Jonathan again. When Rosalie opened her eyes she was lying in dirt and staring up at the sky. She must have fallen asleep in the woods close to the party. Confused, she stood up, brushed the dirt from her dress and went looking for Jonathan but found the ball was long since over. Both Decius and her friends were nowhere to be found. Returning home she went to bed and slept for what felt like an age, with vivid dreams filling her mind of Harrison, Jonathan, the bright flash of green. When she awoke her brother cried. Wrapping his arms around her shouting about how glad he was she was home. Showing her the paper her eyes widened in horror.
