Hi! I don’t know if you’re taking oneshot requests right now, but I have a suggestion for a Leo x Reader one:

The reader has long hair and always keeps it up in ponytails or braids due to low self esteem, and Leo is naturally curious about what they would look like with their hair down. During a mission, he and the reader go hide from a villain, and he notices that the reader’s hair is all let down. He thinks they look beautiful, and after talking for a bit, he says “You should keep your hair down, it looks better that way.”

That’s all I could come up with.

Pairing: Rise!Leo x GN! reader (No use of Y/N)

Type: Oneshot

Summary: Leo was touchy with you, but he only seems to realize when he starts braiding your hair.

You felt your throat burn with your heavy breathing while trying to reach the lair as fast as possible, the moment you caught sight of the manhole you jumped in, thankfully not hurting yourself in the process, and just sprinting at full speed the moment your feet touched the ground.

You’d gotten an emergency message from Leo just a couple of minutes earlier, telling you to get to the lair ASAP, you were silently grateful you hadn’t been too far from the lair, but the fact that Leo hadn’t just opened a portal for you to go through just made you feel like the emergency might be just that much worse; your heart sank just thinking about Leo being too busy fighting to create a portal for you.

Your thoughts made your body go that much faster, soon enough you saw the light of the lair’s entrance, you slowed down, trying to hear anything that might be happening inside but you were greeted with silence, worried at this you walked in, your eyes searching wildly until they collided with Raph’s.

“Oh, hey! You made it, come on!” Raph smiled at you contently while you tried to catch your breath; you noticed with a frown that he was holding a bowl of popcorn, the cogs started turning in your mind, making you bristle while you followed Raph deeper into the lair, and just as you thought: The other brothers, including Leo, were all hanging out calmly in the projection room, surrounded by snacks and laughter.

Leo caught sight of you from the corner of his eyes, you were about to berate him, angry at him for making his message so cryptic and scary when you noticed an innocent happy beam take place in his face at seeing you, he immediately jumped off the back of the couch, striding towards you and making your words get stuck in your throat with that one look.

Sometimes, once you were alone back in your own room, you’d think of these moments and curse yourself for giving in so easily to him, right at this moment however you were being pulled towards the couch by his hand and your thoughts were too scrambled between his expression, touch, and smile.

“You would never believe it, we were at Marcus Moncrief’s apartment after you know, doing us, being heroic and all that,” Leo startled rambling to you, practically vibrating with excitement “And he gave US, his biggest fans of course, a copy of the lost episode from the memories of Jupiter Jim’s saga! The 32nd episode of the eleventh trilogy! The limited edition one that was taken out of the market.”

You were sat on the couch with Leo at your side moving his arms wildly and sitting with his legs right against yours as he explained how important the movie was to the saga and how it would solve so many inconsistencies that happened later on, your anger left your body, replaced by that warm feeling that Leo brought you when he wanted to include you in things like these, his interests, his life.

Soon you were all squeezed up comfortably around the room as the movie began, it was all fine until Donnie seemed to startle and look around the room.

“Uh, does anyone else hear a beeping noise?” Donnie asked and everyone immediately perked up, trying to listen to anything.

You finally heard what Donnie was talking about, a beeping becoming stronger and suddenly Leo was pushing you to the floor behind the couch, a second later the tape exploded, and a maniacal laugh could be heard in the sewer tunnels.

“That’s right Jupiter Jim! You cannot hide from me any longer! I have been waiting so long for you to activate the tracking system in the tape!” The voice you didn’t recognize at all yelled and Leo groaned loudly.

“Awh, come on! Why does everything have to be some mortal trap?!” He yelled standing up and taking his swords out to the villain whom you think you’ve seen before on one of Leo’s infodumps of the series.

A full battle broke out in the lair until someone decided it would be way better to avoid the destruction of their home by guiding the villain away into the sewer tunnels while he kept attacking and asking where Jupiter Jim was.

“I think you need to stop visiting that old actor!” You exclaimed while trying to avoid a laser, this guy had lasers!

“I mean it’s not his fault—Look out!” Leo stopped his phrase to pull you away from danger once again, everyone spread out and Leo created a portal, taking your hand and pulling the both of you through it fast before the villain could reach you.

A laser beam went in through the portal alongside you but didn’t hit you by mere chance, Leo and you tried to recover your breaths, you were now far deeper in the sewers, completely quiet except for the sound of running water and your panting.

“We should really go back to look for the guys,” you said trying to take a look from the end of the tunnel, but Leo pulled you back by the hand which was still enveloped by his.

“No, look, Donnie knows the layout better than anyone, he’ll be activating all sorts of traps for this guy to fall into, Raph and Mikey will surely stick together, and bam! He’ll be gone before we know it!” Leo dismissed easily, his lazy smirk returning to his face while he leaned back against the wall, his hand finally letting go of yours “Let’s just wait it out and hide here for now instead of getting messy” Leo finished with a shrug.

A part of you was telling you to go help the guys, but the other one that trusted Leo’s impeccable intuition (though you would never tell him that) told you to hide there instead of attracting the attention of a crazy laser-happy villain with an obsession for a sci-fi actor.

You sighed and crossed your arms in front of you, resting your back on the wall right next to Leo, but you felt a soft snap on the back of your head and suddenly your hair was falling around your shoulders, quickly reaching back with your hands you felt the hair tie you had been using to hold up your ponytail falling into them, you took it to see it had been singed slightly, probably by the last laser that had followed you through the portal, you huffed at it and reached back to check your hair and make sure it hadn’t been singed with the tie.

The whole time you checked for it Leo had been strangely quiet, your eyes looked up to check on him and you caught him staring at your hair with a wistful expression, you tilted your head sideways and when he noticed his expression was back to his lazy grin, though a bit of color laced his cheeks.

“Well would you look at that, finally got rid of that hairband and it only took some deathly lasers to do so.”

As he teased you rolled your eyes, letting go of your hair as you made sure it hadn’t been too damaged.

“You could have just asked me to remove it if you hated it so much you know?” You chuckled “Though maybe I wouldn’t have removed it, just to spite you.”

Leo stuck out his tongue at you and took a strand of your hair between his fingers “Ah come on, it’s fine I was just curious about how it would look; you wear it up religiously, can’t blame me for wanting to find out how it looks down”

You shrugged, his hand never once stopping his trail over your hair, but you didn’t mind, Leo had been getting touchier with you, it was just an extension of that “It’s more comfortable, it doesn’t get in the way like that.”

Leo hummed in response, but he looked a bit absent minded, his other hand reaching up, like he was trying to braid your hair clumsily “You should keep your hair down, it looks better that way.”

The compliment wasn’t surrounded by flowery details, dramatic manners or his usual smirk, just a couple sincere words while his hand traveled lazily through your locks, he looked so calm as he said it it flustered you slightly, and you must have reacted weirdly because suddenly the hands on your hair stopped and Leo looked you in the eyes with his own wide open before he leaned back against the wall again chuckling awkwardly.

“Oh, the woes of being bald, I have to live vicariously through you, so you need to let your hair down for me!” He expressed to make light of everything, but his cheeks had darkened, and his gaze flittered about tensely without going back to you.

You chuckled beside him, seemingly calming him down, you were so lost in thought neither of you reacted to the sounds of yelling coming your way from down the tunnels.

Maybe you would wear your hair down more frequently.

Everyone whispered and stared as you entered the room. They weren’t very secretive about their feelings towards your arrival with Marcus. Most of them were shocked, but many of your sister’s acquaintances were angry or excited about the possibility of you and Marcus. Your brother, on the other hand, nearly choked on his drink while his friends were grinning. Trent looked confused yet pleased about the situation. You had to force yourself to keep walking in the ballroom because, for the first time, the public was eyeing you.

Marcus who has kept his silence was not phased by their judgemental stare. He was as calm as ever, smiling and waving at the people that he knows. Marcus did not mind your sister’s or his friends' constant glares and looked entertained.

Across the room stood your parents, who didn't look pleased by your partner. Your mother glared at Marcus, whereas your dad seemed confused and annoyed by the situation. It must've surprised everyone that your date was none other than Marcus Rashford, who has been in a couple of dating rumors with your sister. It didn't help that Marcus was grinning at everyone who glared down at the two of you.

"Anastasia is going to kill me," you mumbled to yourself, but loud enough for Marcus to hear. "Not if I'm here," Marcus shrugged. You giggled and stood before him, positioning yourself to slow dance with him. “What made you think this was a good idea?” You asked while glancing around the room. Marcus smiles and twirls you around, “the idea of dancing with you has been on my mind for a while now, Y/N,” he says. You looked at him all confused; what is his definition of a while?

Marcus catches your confused face and chuckles. “You are going to be out of high school now. Have you thought of college yet?” He asked. You sighed and shook your head. “I don’t really have a say. My mother will be the one choosing for me,” you mumbled. Marcus smirks and glances your mother’s way. “You are an adult now. I believe you get to choose. The University of Manchester, perhaps?” You laughed and shook your head, “are you trying to recruit me to your city?” You joked. Marcus pauses, and the both of you stop moving.

“Maybe I am.”

Anastasia and Jude walked in after your dance with Marcus. Your sister was eyeing Marcus as he casually sipped on his champagne and avoided eye contact with her. On the other hand, Jude was glaring you and Marcus down and was pretty obvious about it. Even your brother was becoming suspicious of the situation.

"Anastasia, you look beautiful dear," your mother basically lunges at your sister and then at Jude. "Don't you make a handsome couple," she compliments. You tried not to roll your eyes as you glanced at Jude, who was trying not to walk away from your mom. "Everyone is waiting for your first dance," your mother said. Anastasia gently smiles before she glances at Marcus and then faces Jude. You watch as he smiles down at her and places his hands on her hips, squeezing them slightly. Marcus awkwardly shifts next to you, and you glance up at him. He was watching your sister as she made casual conversation with Jude and basically flirted with him.

You know that Marcus has feelings for your sister, but he isn’t aware of it or is in denial. It was ridiculous how much one person’s emotions can affect others. Your sister loves Marcus, but he rejects her from left to right. Jude is very explicit about wanting you, but you keep telling him off, causing him to feel unwanted, angry, and definitely betrayed. But at the end of the day, we want what we want, and there is no running from that.

“They look good together, don’t they?” Your brother says as he happily glances at Jude and Anastasia. You look away from the scene and also avoid making eye contact with him. “Good to see you too, Rowan,” Marcus says in a very unpleasant tone. Rowan smirks and stands next to Marcus. “My sisters are the most precious gem in the world. Don’t mind me finding them the best suitor,” Rowan says before he glances down at you. “And, of course, our previous Y/N will have the best man.”

You rolled your eyes before feeling someone wrap their arms around your waist and pull you to their side. “Indeed she will,” Marcus says. Rowan stares down at Marcus' hand's placement and clears his throat, "I believe my sister owns me a dance," he says and holds out his hand. You signed and looked up at Marcus, who was already staring at you. You smile at him and nod, causing him to let go of you. "I'll come find you later," you said. Marcus nodded and watched as you placed your hand on your brother's and walked to the dance floor.

"You are not going to date him," Rowan says sternly. You frown, and as you try not to angrily step on his toes, "Why not? he's a good guy," you say. Rowan shakes his head, "the guy is very suspicious, and something tells me he isn't here just to court you." Of course, you knew that, and you weren't planning on going anything beyond a friendship with Marcus anyways, but you are curious as to why your brother is getting welled up by him. "Did you both date the same girl or what?" you casually asked. Rowan made a disgusted face and looked over at Jude and Anastasia. "Marcus's type is Ana, and my type is something else," Rowan says, "I just don't like the dude." You laughed and continued to listen to your brother's complaints about his life.

Rowan was funny in his own way and paranoid about guys in our family's life. You believe he has been hanging out with his dad so much that he saw it all. Christian L/N was one of the nation's most powerful and richest men, but he was secretive about everything. He wasn't a good dad but wasn't a bad one, either. Sometimes he put in effort but often sent gifts if he missed out on special occasions. Although you weren't his biological daughter, Christian treated you the same as the rest. He would only talk to all of you when needed and deposit money into all of your accounts every day.

"It seems like Father wants a dance with you," Rowan says as he stares behind your shoulders. You turned around to see your dad approaching the two of you. His eyes were stern, serious, and intimidating. "I haven't been alone with him for so long," you whispered. Rowan stays quiet next to you until your dad finally stands in front of the two of you. "Good evening, Father," Rowan greeted. You awkwardly smile as your dad looks between the two of you. "Rowan, if I may," your dad's deep husky voice says as he holds out his hand for you. Rowan froze next to you and immediately backed up. You place your hand on your dad's, and he guides you into an empty area, slightly away from everyone's ears.

"How is school going?" was the first thing Christian L/N asked his adopted daughter. You thought back to school yesterday, and it couldn't have gone worst. Everyone heard of your sister's birthday party theme and wanted to be invited. "It's fine; I graduate in a week," you said. Your dad nods, and you follow his steps as he guides you through the dance. "Your mother said she chose a college for you; is that true?" he asked. You glance over at your mother, who is already staring. She didn’t look pleased that your dad was dancing with you first. “I believe so, yes,” you said. Your dad hums and continues to guide you through the dance. You take this opportunity to really look at him. He looked really good for a man his age, but you could tell that he hadn’t had a good sleep in a very long time.

“Father,” you said, causing him to focus on you again. “Why haven’t you been home recently?”

Your father sighed, and there was a faint smile on his lips. “I thought you wouldn’t notice Y/N,” he says. You chuckled and shook your head, “of course I would notice. I am your daughter,” you said. Your dad’s eyes soften, “I have been arranging something with the King of Denmark,” he says. Your father then looked towards Jude and Anastasia, and you weren’t sure he was pleased with them. “The king would like to unite our family. Form an alliance and become in-laws.”

You look over at Anastasia, who just finished her dance with Jude. They smiled at one another, and Jude handed her a glass of champagne. She happily took it from him, and they both walked over to greet guests. “I don’t think Anastasia would like that,” you mumbled. Your dad doesn’t respond, and you knew immediately he wasn’t suggesting Anastasia. “I don’t have your blood,” you immediately said, panicking. “But you’re rightfully my daughter,” he responded.

You shook your head in disbelief. This cannot be happening; first, your mom choices where you’ll go to college, and now your dad choices who your husband will be. “The king hasn’t even met me, and I don’t know any of the royal family,” you stuttered. Your dad shakes his head, “Prince Nikolai has seen photos of you, and he chose you over Anastasia.” Your heart starts pounding rapidly, and your breathing becomes heavier as he continues. “I have arranged for you to meet him in three days, and after you graduate, we will announce your engagement.”

Words couldn’t express how scared, confused, disappointed, and angry you were. Your whole life, you’ve given everything to them only for them to use you as a tool for their selfish purposes. You thought that maybe after graduating, you’d have a little more freedom, but if you were bounded to the royal life, you’d be controlled forever.

You look over your shoulders to where Jude was. He happily stood next to Anastasia as she introduced him to her colleagues. Your heart breaks at seeing him with another girl, and a selfish part of you wants to run over there and run away with him. Even if it’s for one night, you want to risk it all with Jude. But you couldn’t because he deserves more. He deserves someone that wouldn’t confuse his feelings and someone who will never take and leave.

“Y/N, are you listening?” Your dad asked. You shake your head and start backing away from your dad. “No, I need some fresh air,” you said. Your dad reaches out for you, but you slap his hand away, causing some people to glare at you. You then stumbled away from him and the crowd, bumping into several people along the way.

The sky was clear today, dark and gloomy. And the air was freezing, but you rather be cold than be in the house. Your dad’s words kept playing in your mind, and you remembered his proposal. If you were to marry the prince of Denmark, then you’ll be away from your mother’s control. But then you’ll have more responsibilities to take on and be in the public’s eyes 24/7. There was no winning in this situation. It was either you lived under your parent’s control or the royal family’s control.

You hug yourself as you try not to cry from frustration. Nothing worked out for you even though you tried hard to be their perfect daughter. This wasn't how things were supposed to be, and you were supposed to go off to college and enjoy some freedom, but because you were nothing more than a tool in their life, you'll be used for their own purposes and desires. It was very unfair.

"You shouldn't be out here alone," a familiar voice with a deep English accent says, and you feel him gently place a warm jacket on your shoulder. "And you shouldn't be out here alone with me," you said while wiping small drops of tears.

Jude sits down next to you, and you smell a mix of alcohol and fresh cologne on him. Your mind told you to look at him because it had been months. But your heart was telling you to run away before making irrational decisions. "Your father has been asking about you," Jude says while looking around the secluded place. "I am assuming he said something you didn't like."

You signed and pulled your knees to your chest, "Christian L/N would like me to marry Prince Nikolai of Denmark," you mumbled. You feel the tension rising from Jude as he tries to stay calm. This subject was hard on him as much as it was on you. "I see your family is quite fond of arranged marriages," he says darkly. You nodded your head, assuming he was watching you because he always does. "My life was already decided for the moment I was born," you said, "I don't get a say in what I want."

Jude's eyes were on you as you discussed your dad's plan. You knew Jude would not do anything irrational unless you asked him. He was loyal and trustworthy, and you have always felt guilty for the pain you have caused him. He was always chasing you, but you have always pushed him away, hoping for a better outcome for both of you. In your mind, Jude was better than anyone, and he deserved more than you can offer. Despite his friends being your brother and his ruthless friends, Jude was the most innocent of them all, and everyone loved him because of it. And getting involved with your messy life will only take away the laughter, sunshine, and happiness in him. Soon he will realize that the girl he wants isn't you and a girl with a much more simpler life.

"Can I hold you?" He suddenly asked, causing you to nearly choke on air. "What did you say?" you asked. Jude smiles at you and opens his arms, "can you hold me? I really need a hug." You shook your head, knowing of his intention. "If you are saying that just to comfort me, then leave it, Bellingham. I don't need your sympathy." Jude doesn't respond; he just smiles and stays holding his arm out. "Y/N, I really need a hug, sweetheart. Can you do that for me?"

You stare at his warm smile and his arms that are asking for you to come in. Sighing and smiling, you wrap your arms around his waist for an embrace, and tears start to roll down your eyes. Jude softly soothes your hair as you cry on his chest. The pent-up frustration and tears kept rolling down nonstop, and you could cry openly in front of someone for the first time. "I want to escape just one day Jude," you cried, causing him to hug you tighter. He whispers reassuring words as you cry on his shoulder and kisses your forehead nonstop. "Let me take you away," he whispers. "I can keep you safe."

You weren't sure if he was being serious, but you nodded your head rapidly, wanting him to do anything he wanted with you. You were tired of playing the perfect daughter and hiding behind everyone's shadow. This time you'll do what your heart desire and be with the man you always wanted. If your family wants to stop you, they can go ahead and come.

"Let's get away from this evil place, love," Jude says before he lifts you up in a bridal style and starts walking away from the mansion.

Personality: Anastasia Everly is generally quiet and can sometimes be shy. However, she is bold despite how timid she seems and will speak her mind when she believes that she is baring witness to injustice. She is very insecure when it comes to her own personal interests and does not like to talk about herself. She thinks of herself as an observer. She would rather pay attention to the world so that she can absorb it and gain more knowledge rather than always be the one giving out the knowledge. Because she is very observant, she is able to read people and is very thoughtful when she wants to be. Her observance also makes her very clever, but can be a disservice to her because she sometimes pays too much attention to detail and is overly paranoid. Anastasia is well-rounded, but her main talents and interests revolve around the Arts. She is a mega superhero fan and her favorite superhero is Kamala Khan also known as Miss Marvel. Anastasia is a talented cartoonist and creates her own comic books, but does not publish them until after she graduates high school.

Anastasia is extremely loyal, sometimes to a fault. Though her loyalty makes her a valuable friend and teammate, it also sometimes makes her gullible, easy to manipulate, and overly passionate. Her open mind and eagerness to learn often serve her positively, but these traits also sometimes make her too idealistic and irrational. Sometimes, her head is in the clouds and she does not know how to bring herself back down until it is too late. Her insecurities also contribute to her indecisiveness, but this is balanced out by her ability to think creatively. These traits often affect her ability to use her bionics and superpowers, and when her Alpha Gene is triggered, she has a difficult time pulling herself out of it. When she is using her abilities, however, she has been trained to stay focused and since she is skilled at creating things, she can clear her mind and allow herself to do what she needs to do with her abilities depending on the situation.

When Anastasia was younger, she was more idealistic. Though she still has those same ideals, she has grown to have a broader view of life and learned to be proud of her talents.

Bionic Abilities and Superpowers

Anastasia’s main ability is molecular manipulation, a unique ability that only she has. This gives her the ability to manipulate and control molecules. It is an ability that she was born with as a superpower. She also inherited the ability to shape-shift from her father. These abilities were amplified when she had a bionic chip implanted in her that gave her unique variations of said abilities, which include the following: molecular energy blast, temporary pain relief, pain inducement, telekinesis, and reality warping.

As a superhero, Anastasia was born with other abilities. These abilities include basic superpowers which are thermal touch, thermonuclear body blast, proton ring generation, and the ability to fly.

Anastasia’s mutant genetics give her unique abilities as well. She has a unique ability called empathy that enhances her overall ability to feel things, including but not limited to emotions and anything regarding the five senses. She also has an alter ego that her sister named Sparky. Sparky is the result of a rare mutant gene called the Alpha Gene that only Anastasia has. Anastasia’s Alpha Gene is triggered when she experiences an intense panic attack or feels protective. When the gene is activated, Anastasia is fully conscious but unable to control her alter ego. When the gene becomes dormant again, Anastasia remembers everything that happened when she was under its influence. The effects of the gene are similar to the effects of the Commando App, but are more permanent, visible, and difficult to manage. When Anastasia was a little girl, it was easier to manage her Alpha Gene and her sister nicknamed the alter ego Sparky because she was easy to tame like a puppy. However, this changed as Anastasia grew older and the name Sparky became progressively ridiculous as the Sparky persona became more intimidating. When Anastasia is under Sparky’s influence, her skin turns a fiery red, her voice deepens, and she becomes extremely aggressive, protective, and territorial. This gene also heightens her senses and gives her enhanced physical strength when activated. The Alpha Gene and Sparky persona are not part of an application or a technological implant, but rather, they are the results of a biological enhancement and mutation in Anastasia’s system.

The basics: A Navy reservist is found dead in a warehouse, exposing a burglary ring and a money laundering

What important things did we learn about:

Callen:  Has a guest at his apartment – Anna. Sam:  Rightly thinks Callen doesn’t know his fancy designers. Kensi:  Not a fan of the “Mrs.” Infront of Deeks. Deeks:  Eating fish tacos since he’s unemployed. Eric:  See Hetty. Nell:  Running Ops alone like a boss. Fatima:  Earned her rich kid Beverly Hills life. Roundtree:  Driving a Land Rover from the motor pool. Hetty:  Absent.

What not so important things did we learn about:

Callen:  Was a lifeguard in high school. Sam:  Never had the honor of meeting Navy SEAL/Medal of Honor winner Michael Murphy. Kensi:  Loves fish tacos.   Deeks:  Doesn’t like his signature.  Actually hates it. Eric:  See Hetty. Nell:  Too busy getting things done today. Fatima: Not on eHarmony or making wine TikTok videos. Roundtree:  From Texas. Hetty:  Not even a mention.

Who's down with OTP:  They’re buying a house.  He’s out of work (sigh).  

Who's down with BrOTP:  Sam is proud that Callen is dealing well with Anna being around and Anna going away.

Any pressing need for a cranky retired Admiral?  I’m sure Rachelle Chung would have been a wealth of material for the Admiral but the team was fine today.

Who is running the team this week?  Nell, with ease.

Fashion review:  Callen, Sam, Fatima and Roundtree start the episode in work-out gear, each wearing a 20-pound weighted vest.  Later in the day, Callen is wearing a turquoise blue button down shirt with two-pockets..  Sam is in a long-sleeve black tee-shirt.  Fatima is wearing a blue, oversized henley with a similar colored tee-shirt underneath.  Roundtree is in a bright white tee-shirt with a blue dress shirt with a white pinstripe unbuttoned over it.  Kensi is wearing a rust colored tee-shirt.  Deeks is in a sky blue tee.  Dark dress for Nell with a loud floral print.

Music:  There are two quick songs playing – when Roundtree pulls up with the Land Rover and when Benavidez pulls up the club – but no idea what it is.  While Fatima and Roundtree are questioning Chung, “Good Morning Hunter” by Odario and Adrian X plays.

Any notable cut scene:  No.

Quote: Sam:  “Anna still doing that volunteer thing?” Callen:  “Yeah, she's supposed to go in a couple days.” Sam:  “How you feel about that?” Callen:  “It's been good having this time together.” Sam:  “Yeah?” Callen:  “I'll miss her.” Sam:  “That's good.” Callen:  “Yeah.” Sam:  “Yeah. Really good.”  

Anything else:   At night in a warehouse district, a well-dressed young woman is being followed by a man.  She picks up the pace and seemingly so does he.  When the young woman confronts the man, he says he’s just walking home and crosses the street.   As the man turns and walks away, the woman speaks to someone using an earpiece.  That someone is a comfortably dressed young woman breaking into a warehouse.

Breaking into a in the warehouse’s locked room, the comfortably dressed woman finds “the motherload” – high end sneakers, fancy clothes, expensive handbags and sadly, a dead guy with the handbags.  The young female thief screams.

The following morning, Callen, Sam, Fatima and Roundtree are all doing a hard workout in three different locations – Callen in his apartment, Sam at the beach, Fatima and Roundtree in a park – in honor of Navy SEAL/Medal of Honor recipient Michael Murphy.  “The Murph” (usually done with a 20-pound weighted vest) is a mile run (Callen), 100 pullups (Roundtree), 200 pushups (Sam) and 300 squats (Fatima).  Everyone is doing different things but they are all doing the whole work-out.

Sam never had the honor of meeting Murphy but Callen did.   Callen and Murphy swapped stories about their high school days as lifeguards.  Anna wants to hear Callen lifeguard stories.  She’s playing “Assassin’s Creed” on X-Box.  Roundtree respects Anna’s choices.  Anna’s choice is to see photos of lifeguard Callen.  That’s not happening.  Fatima thinks Callen had feathered hair.

In the office driveway outside of Deeks’s truck, Kensi and Deeks are buying a house on their cellphone – well, they’re signing documents about putting in an offer for a house.  Deeks is unhappy with this signature.  Kensi thinks he can just change his signature.  Oh no, Deeks believes your signature is your soul poured into blue ink.  

Nell calls the team but has to stop because Deeks is around – he’s not working there anymore.  As he drives off, Nell updates the team with info on the dead man in the warehouse.  CTI Terry Coleman was a Navy reservist.  He was not working at the warehouse – in fact the owner said the warehouse doesn’t have a tenant and should be empty.  LAPD, who got a call about an opened door, found both Coleman and the boxes of merchandise.  

Callen thinks this is an LAPD investigation but Coleman’s Navy assignment was NETWARCOM reservist – the NSA of the Navy.  Coleman had high levels of clearance and his death set off alarms all up the chain of command.  Nell has video the young woman breaking into the warehouse but it doesn’t match Coleman’s time of death, which was much earlier in the day.

Facial rec for the thief may take some time  because everything was so dark.  Nell is bringing in Agent DeChamps to work with Kensi.  They are going to check into Petty Officer Coleman’s past.  Fatima and Roundtree will look into the robber once she’s ID’d.  Callen and Sam are off to the warehouse.  

As he prepares to leave, Callen and Anna discuss her volunteer work.  Maybe she’s throwing all her effort and interest into other people’s problems to not deal with her own.  Callen is proud of Anna for not sitting around and feeling sorry for the career she lost.  Anna is going to Santa Cruz county to help rebuild some of the 800 homes lost in the fire.  She’s leaving in two days and is going to miss Callen.  She shows Callen just how much.

Looking around outside the warehouse, Callen sees the drill holes to destroy the locks – this wasn’t a discreet robbery.  Sam is in the warehouse looking at all the boxes of expensive goods.  Callen’s idea was Coleman may have been a thief  while Sam thinks the goods could be counterfeit.  Nell is going to check out the shipping and serial numbers.  

Callen finds a scrape on a loading dock wall and a side mirror on the ground.  Whoever was robbing the place beat a hasty retreat when they found Coleman.  Nell has info on the boxes – everything inside is legit and all of it was stolen, different robberies over the last six months.

Fatima and Roundtree are thrilled with their new NCIS ride – a Range Rover.  It was “way cooler” than Kensi and Deeks’s ride but “not as cool as Sam’s”.  Roundtree is worried that they’re taking a better ride when Kensi and Deeks have time on that.  Fatima agrees – so much time – which Roundtree doesn’t quite like.

Nell send Fatima a text – Rachelle Chung is the woman breaking into the warehouse.  They’re going after her with Roundtree driving.

Kensi and Deeks are talking about their finances as she walks from the office’s backstairs to the bullpen.  He’s lost his LAPD Liaison position, the bar revenues are 50% of what they were a year ago and they’re signing up for a mortgage payment every month for the next 30-years – he’s not nervous at all.  Kensi is worried they’re overbuying a house.  They’re not – it is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house that if it was in the Midwest three college kids could pool their money together and buy the place for $3,000.  Instead, they’re in LA and will be paying $3,000 for a solar panel.  

LA, Deeks explains, is expensive because you can surf and ski in the same day and enjoy world class fish tacos.  Kensi not only loves fish tacos, she’s hungry for them.  Deeks is about to have fish tacos – it is the fun part of being unemployed.  

DeChamps walks in and says hello to “Mrs. Deeks”.  Honestly, Kensi’s not a fan of the word Deeks with “Mrs.” in front of it.  Nell filled DeChamps in on the generalities of the case.  Kensi has been looking into Coleman who has had the same civilian job for five years, lived in the same place for four, no wife, no kids.

LAPD has Coleman’s financials.  He’s paid bi-monthly and makes a rather large withdrawal a day after the check clears.  All the withdrawals are around $1,000, signifying possible drug or gambling addiction.  Nell pops up on the screen behind Deeks’s desk.  Combing through Coleman’s social media, Nell found Coleman may have had a girlfriend.  Kensi and DeChamps are going to talk to the girlfriend.

Seeing some security cameras on a neighboring warehouse, Callen stops a man walking into the building.  The man is the owner and happy to share the video footage.  

Outside of Rachelle Chung’s home, Fatima explains the general layout of the neighborhood.  Roundtree is impressed but Fatima knows the Fairfax since she grew up in Beverly Hills.  Roundtree is from Texas and is impressed with Fatima’s “rich Beverly Hills kid living.”   Fatima says it isn’t “rich kid living” if you earn the money yourself.   Rountree guesses Fatima “made a killing at Hot Topic”.  She did not – she was an actor.  Roundtree wants to know what she starred in but Fatima thinks he should investigate – “Agent Roundtree.”

With loud music coming from the house, Fatima knocks on Chung’s door.  Chung runs with Rountree following.  She makes it to the alleyway behind the house, though Roundtree gets to slide across a car hood in the pursuit.  Chung is handcuffed when Fatima stops her.

Callen sends Nell the security video from the neighboring warehouse.  An arriving Sam is unhappy about the heavy ash still in the air.  LA needs a good rain according to Sam.  Callen looks forward to the mudslides.  The two talk about Anna volunteering and Callen’s feelings.  Sam thinks it is good Callen will miss her.  “Really good.”  

At first, Callen can’t see killing a man for sneakers and handbags until Sam guesses the resale would be a few $100,000.  Callen will never understand that kind of money for sneakers.

Kensi and DeChamps speak to a Claudia Lezzez.  Kensi has to make the death notification to Claudia, who wants to help anyway she can.  Claudia and Coleman broke up two months ago.   DeChamps asks about drugs or gambling  but Claudia says Coleman was a good man.  The large withdrawals were for a Navy buddy of Coleman’s who killed himself a year ago.  Coleman was supporting the man’s wife and son.

Claudia feels awful – she and Coleman argued about the money.  All Claudia wanted was Coleman to take care of himself before he took care of other people.   Coleman was working a second job – security at a bar called Privy – to bring in more money.  Claudia is heartbroken.

With the neighboring warehouse video, facial rec returned the names of two of Chung’s accomplices – Jojo Ballard and Marcus Babu.   Ballard was the woman walking in the teaser of the episode.  There is video of them in the getaway van.  Ballard and Babu are roommates in Culver City.  Since Agent Castor and his partner are working a case in Culver City, Nell will have them pick the two up.

Rachelle Chung isn’t the most endearing suspect.  She wants the handcuffs removed because all she did was run from Roundtree, she didn’t slap him.  When her night at the warehouse is mentioned, Chung mocks her elders in Fatima and Roundtree.  As Chung realizes she’s about to go to jail, she tries to cooperate as little as possible but still stay out of jail.  Then she goes back to insulting Fatima and Roundtree.  Roundtree tries again to the Chung into the Land Rover to arrest her.  This time, Chung plays the victims – her friends Jojo and Marcus made her break in, it was all a joke.

Fatima updates Callen and Sam who are in the boat shed.  Callen interviews Babu in the upstairs interrogation room, Sam has Babu downstairs.  Babu explains she isn’t going to jail since she was just a passenger in a van.  Callen explains that being in a get-away car is a pretty big crime.  Saying her civil rights were violated, Callen would like to know which ones.  “I’m not a legal person,” Ballard says.  Splitting between the two interview subjects, both seem to pin the robbery on Chung – they were helping a friend.  

Both Callen and Sam make it clear – they don’t care about the stolen goods, they care about who killed Petty Officer Coleman.  Neither has any info about the killing.  Callen and Sam want to know about how Rachelle knew about the warehouse and who were they stealing from.  Both Ballard and Babu say Chung was dating an older man who would give her whatever she asked for.  One day, Chung followed the older man and found the warehouse.  “She’s gnarly that way.”

Chung is not happy that Ballard and Babu turned out to be “traitors”.  Fatima and Roundtree want the name of the man Chung was dating.  Instead, Chung explains that Ballard and Babu were running a cult and she was an unwilling victim of their influence.  That goes poorly.   The name of the man Chung was dating was Bludlime.  That’s his Instagram name.  She found him and “slid into his DMs.”  While she’s explaining this, Chung is mocking Fatima dating on eHarmony.  The only thing she knows about him is to call him “D”.

Bludlime has a lot of photos on Instagram but they are of cars, pricey watches and beautiful women.  There’s not a clear photo of Bludlime.

DeChamps likes Kensi’s ride.  Pulling up to the club where Privy, Kensi admits to being a bouncer in her youth.  Women make better bouncers, according to Kensi.  She thought about starting her own business where she could train women to work the door at nightclubs.  DeChamps thinks that would make a mint.  Kensi’s thinking about it since she and Deeks just put in an offer on a house.  Kensi would love to get the house but isn’t sure she’d be sad if they didn’t.

Lincoln Benavidez, the bar manager of Privy pulls up in a sports car.  He was expecting NCIS – he really liked Coleman, “an incredible human being.”  Coleman was “beloved” by the staff and the bar’s regulars.  Coleman’s “super power” was being able to de-escalate any difficult situation despite being a really big guy.   Benavidez shares his employee list – anything to help with the investigation.

As Benavidez is about to go into the club, Nell sends Kensi a text about Bludlime.  Kensi asks if Benavidez knows a Donny Mason.  He does – that’s the bar’s lead investor.  Most is a nomad – doesn’t own any real estate, just moves from hotel rooms to short term rentals and back.

Callen and Sam think about the case in the boat shed while Sam shadowboxes.  Mason kills Coleman when Coleman learns about the stolen goods to protect his legit bar investment.  Nell pops up on the screen.  Mason has a number of investments – two other bars, a jewelry business, an IV concierge service and some retail businesses.  Mason was also being looked at by the DEA for money laundering but nothing came out of the investigation.

With the pandemic shutting down bars, jewelry and retail stores – all cash based businesses – Mason may not have had anywhere to launder his money.  With that cash piling up, it could be a problem.  Nell found Mason in a rental in Venice, Callen and Sam are on their way.

Callen sees a body inside the rental house.  Mason is dead.

LAPD is securing the crime scene.  The house had security cameras but the online rental companies make the owners disable the cameras before allowing a rental.  There are a number of suspects – someone killing Mason to avenge Coleman.  One of the organization Mason laundered money for wanted to steal all the cash he had to be sitting on or someone who saw Mason’s lifestyle on Instagram.  

Sam finds a bloodstain on the back door of the house.  He finds a car in the driveway with fingerprints.  He sends a copy of the prints to Nell.  Callen has news from LAPD – Mason was tortured before he was shot and killed.  Someone wanted the money.  Matching the fingerprints to Lincoln Benavidez, Nell found him in East LA using Kaleidoscope.  All three teams are going to the location.

Kensi and DeChamps arrive first.  DeChamps finds a warm forklift, Kensi Benavidez’s car.  Callen and Sam arrive just in time to stop Benavidez in a large white Cargo van.  As Benavidez tries to drive away, he plows into the Land Rover of an arriving Roundtree and Fatima.  They’re a little banged up but find the big piles of cash in van.

Callen, Sam and Kensi are all over Roundtree for wrecking the new Range Rover after a single day.  Kensi calls it karma for knocking her ride – “earwigs are always live.”  

Back in the armory, Fatima and Roundtree are unpacking their gear and the day.  Roundtree can’t believe how much the repair of the Land Rover will cost since in Texas, that damage is considered a dent.  

There is confirmation that Benavidez killed both Coleman and Mason.  Mason was going to blow the entire operation so Benavidez tried to get Coleman to kill Mason.  Coleman recorded the conversation and turned it over to LAPD.  When Coleman said no, he was killed and then so was Mason.  Coleman was a good man to the end.

Callen arrives home with burgers but Anna is packed and ready to go.  Anna got a call an hour ago, she’s starting immediately.  Anna says this is harder than she thought – she was so comfortable spending her quarantine time with Callen.  She doesn’t want to leave and Callen doesn’t want her to leave either.  Anna explains she needs to do this.

What head canon can be formed from here:   Watching this knowing how the season unfolds, Anna’s goodbye becomes a lot more interesting.  She enjoyed her time with Callen.  While she was doing right by him, Callen seems “all-in” on someone who is lying to him.

LAPD would have found something for Deeks to do.

The Fatima-Roundtree friendship is developing nicely, even if Roundtree was amused by some of Rachelle Chung’s insults.  There was a foreshadowing Fatima’s past and a little info about Roundtree.

I looked all over for a photo of Chris O’Donnell with feathered hair - just couldn’t find it.

Thaddeus Rowle and Cynthia Macmillan did not marry out of love, but necessity. Their whole relationship was treated like a business deal, carefully analysing what one family could do for another and when all was settled and agreed upon the two tied the knot. Thaddeus, a wealthy business man from Norway whilst Cynthia was a well respected English woman who was quite the socialite in the Pureblood community. Their marriage had meant a combination of wealth and social hierarchy would be guaranteed to the next generations of their blood line. And so, as carefully planned as their matrimony, a baby boy was born.

As the heir, Thorfinn Rowle carried tremendous amounts of pressure to meet his set expectations. To his mother, he was royalty, she would tend to his every need and was mainly responsible for raising him. Cynthia educated Thorfinn on Pureblood culture as well as introducing him to the dark arts. His father, however, had never made effort to bond with his son. Despite naming the boy, Thaddeus had pushed himself away from the family, neglecting Thorfinn in the process. Living the life of a bachelor and publicly humiliating his wife for his own entertainment became a typicality. The only time Thorfinn would spend time with his father was at social events or if he were being punished. He had never liked the man, he never would and the only thing Thor could ever associate with his father was those raw emotions of anger and fear.

Due to his family’s very foundation, Thorfinn grew up to be very lonely and bored. He had always craved the companionship of a sibling and grew endlessly envious to those of his friends that did have a brother or sister. He lacked someone else that understood exactly what he was going through and it frustrated Thor to no end. The child’s boredom was the very reason that Thor began to delve into troublesome antics and shortly became an absolute terror. Creating havoc got him attention, good or bad, he didn’t care. Once he had learned this little trick he never truly grew out of it, it was a quick fix, a coping mechanism that would never tire or grow old. Mischief allowed him to feel glorified.

One of the biggest arguments that Thor recalls his parents having was concerning his education. The debate over him attending either Hogwarts or Durmstrang lasted for months and was put a bitter atmosphere in Rowle manor. His father had attended Durmstrang and believed it to be the only place for his son, whilst his mother argued profusely against him. Surprisingly, in the end, his mother’s word was final and it was one of the few fights that she had ever won against her husband. Thorfinn was set to attend the same school as she did as she believed it would give him a better start to education, among his family friends and mixing with other members of the sacred twenty eight. Thorfinn was happy, of course, he hadn’t liked the idea of Durmstrang half as much.

It was in the castle that Thor had finally felt a sense of belonging, he was comfortable and no longer had a care in the world. Sorted into Slytherin among the other cunning and ambitious folk, he grew accustom to the constant company. Suddenly he wasn’t sat alone all day in an enormous empty manor, he was with his friends and a whole range of possibilities had opened up to the naive boy. There was opportunity and hope, it enthralled Thor into a new mindset and so another habit was born. Thorfinn had soon become the gobby and outspoken young man that he’s know to be today. He was unable to stop running his mouth at any given opportunity. Thor would talk relentlessly and made it his own goal to irritate everyone around him. He found entertainment in it, and once the boy found a source of fun there was no turning back. To his friends, this innocent custom was equally enjoyable for them, but if you were on the other end of his mockery it would soon become grating.

Mixing with like minded people not only did wonders for his confidence, but helped him to come into his own. Thorfinn was a very popular character in the Slytherin common room and a lot of the other students would crowd him to fulfil their boredom. He was good for fun supplying mischief in not only his own presence but also in the form of illegal substances and quickly became his housemates dealer. Thor has always had an answer, he’d always be scheming some plan to cause havoc among an unexpected Hufflepuff girl or terrorise one of their poor professors. His troublemakers ways that used to come naturally to him were now being nurtured, with consistent practice he got very good at what he was doing, despite the downside of all the detentions and punishment his plans would cost him. Thor felt his most free in these years, basically doing whatever the hell he wanted to do without his mother there to stop him or hold him back in anyway. It was extremely liberating for a teenager with his background.  

However, it wasn’t all laughter and fun games with Thorfinn. It wasn’t just his chaotic sentiment that had landed him in detention every other day with a handful of different professors. The young man’s short temper had caused for many fist fights and explosive arguments between Thor and his fellow students. As he grew older, his temper only got worse and it would turn to aggression quite briskly. His head of house had forced Thor to join the duelling club in attempt to get some of his repressed anger out, and for the best part it had worked. Thor was a good duellist and joining had made him substantially better with the bright side of blowing off some steam.

Upon graduating, Thor received very average grades and landed himself a job under in the Ministry under The Department of International Magical Cooperation. The same department in which his father worked under, the Rowle’s connections with multiple country serving as great experience and a useful tool to the ministry. It was without no doubt that if his father had not already worked there then Thorfinn would have certainly never of gotten the job. Thor had no interest in the work, obviously, he had been forced to work by his father and he was never good at refusing to do what the man told him. Thorfinn worked obediently alongside the man, keeping his head down and focused if only to try and make the days go faster.

Expectations from his family were raised higher than ever, Thor had to become a presentable and charming young man, socialising endlessly and making tight connections with the other Pureblood families. The main goal of course being to find himself a wife of his own to continue the traditions with. But that was not the only expectation that his father had set for the man now that he had finished with his education. Thaddeus, among with other Purebloods, had been tracking the dark lords movement since the whispers of a war had emerged. A war that any member of the sacred twenty eight found to be influential to their lives and a cause indeed worth fighting for. It wasn’t long until Thorfinn had joined the Dark Lord’s ranks as a Death Eater, and that repressed anger that he had been taught to keep under lock and key was now being encouraged to be expressed. Thor became exactly what his father had always wanted him to be, he was reckless and dangerous.
