One of the main reasons why I'll never really respect ATS is because of the absolutely lazy Deus Ex Machina that is The Powers That Be. They said "we're not gonna make the effort of thinking about explanations for stuff. We'll just say The Powers That Be did it because they wanted to and call it a day" with their full chests.
I could have excused it with Doyle's visions. It would have been more interesting if he had gotten them some other way, bonus points if the reason could have made him bond with Angel, like a curse or some inheritance from his demon father. But instead they just laid the groundwork to do the bare minimum when it was convenient.
I'm sorry, but if you don't respect yourself even a little as a show, I'm not gonna respect you.

Sorry for the lack of edits recently, I’ve been trying my best to keep up with it all but I’ll be honest it’s a little difficult doing that since I’ve been sick for this past week. Not only that but I recently changed jobs so now my schedule is a bit different than what I had before.
I’m still keeping up with editing the latest cards but I’m still behind on finishing some memory cards from the last 2-3 events which I apologize for. I’m hoping to get over my fever so I can get the energy to edit and upload those cards for you guys. I appreciate you guys being patient with me while I recover.
Also I’d like to be fully transparent about this as well but I feel like I’m losing that motivation to edit as a whole. Before I say anything else I wanna make sure y’all know that I’m not quitting on editing any time soon, but I would be lying if I said I don’t enjoy doing it like I did before. Editing now has turned more into a chore than it does as a hobby. Maybe it was when I lost my first blog or it was the lack of engagement but I do not enjoy editing like before. I feel bad saying this since I know to those who’ve stuck around me do like my edits…idk I just feel stumped on what to do or how I’ll move forward with this. For now I’ll be editing at my own pace and give myself small breaks in between so I can finish edits at my own time.

i haven't shared a lot of tnp lately because i have been working on a different project, but i do plan to update tnp sometime this year. i know people aren't fond of less frequent updates, and "one update a year" is not exactly what i would like either, but tnp is massive at this point and i'd be lying if i tried to pretend like i could get out monthly/frequent updates. the branching is complex & it's not easy for me to put out smaller bits of content, because my branching just doesn't work that way, and i prefer to do big, chunky updates for all of you to really have something to sink your teeth into. if i could do giant full chapter updates, i would, but then we'd really be sitting around twiddling our thumbs for a while...
i never planned for tnp to take this long or even for it to be this large, but it is what it is! as they say, the time will pass anyway

Thor: Ragnarok is the best Thor movie and you can tell because nobody ever tries to make a desperate claim for prestige and reflected quality by calling it "Shakespearean," they just say they enjoyed it and they liked the jokes.

“ Kagetsu! ” Lapis cries out the moment she finally catches a glimpse of his visage. She charges his way, purposeful and frantic strides quickening her pace. From far away, she might have looked like she was looking for a fight, but the closer she gets, the more apparent from her concerned expression that she was in actuality quite frazzled. “ Boy, am I glad to see you! I need your advice on something really quick. You wouldn't happen to know what kinds of foods Queen Ivy likes, do you? ”
She tries to play it off casually, but her face is downright pleading at this point.
“ I've got to prepare some food for her, but I have no idea where to even start! I can't even imagine what an Elusian queen might like… ”
“Lapis? Is something wrong?” Kagetsu meets her with an equally concerned and slightly confused expression as she approaches, immediately pausing any and all prior activity to give her his full attention. Though as she explains the situation and he begins to understand, the concern gives way to lighthearted laughter at the situation. “Ah, I see.”
He hardly even has to think about the question at this point, having served as the Queen’s retainer long enough to answer near instantly: “She seems to find sweets most enjoyable. And foods that contain potatoes as well, if I recall.” It was a little difficult for him to learn this information, but it’s information he will never forget (even if it was never officially discussed between them). “Though I do not doubt she would be appreciative of anything you may give her.”
He nods, confident in his words content to leave it at that… until he remembers something that is probably important to mention. For Ivy’s sake. “Or— anything as long as it is not pickled or… excessively spiced.” Just as he remembers the way her expression shifted to slightly more positive when he predicted the former foods were to be served, he also remembers the displeasure ever so slightly on her face, even if it wasn’t too often voiced to him. “Perhaps do not give her anything like that.“
“Other than that, I stand by my prior sentiment! I have faith you will not poison her.” Kagetsu laughs again, though with how stressed Lapis seemed over the whole ordeal, he does realize it may not be the right opportunity to joke. Especially considering how much he relates to worrying about whether or not Ivy will like something. Sure, that ‘something’ was him, but... It can’t be that different. He can still offer an encouraging smile in these trying times. “Though should you need any more suggestions, do not hesitate to ask! My time is always free if it is for Queen Ivy.”

I think the biggest issue with enjoying bridgerton is you inevitably end up interacting with people who love the books uncritically
To be clear, I enjoy the books myself, but I also accept that in order to enjoy them I have to look past a whole host of major issues and just not think too hard about anything
Literally every* male love interest is some level of misogynistic and most vary from some level of sexual assault to full on rape**, and that is very much the tip of the iceberg with the issues
*when I say every I have only read up to Eloise's book. I've seen enough quotes to know that Michael was gross, but haven't seen anything about John, and don't know anything about Gregory's behaviour or Hyacinth's love interest
** I don't really like this phrasing here, as though I'm suggestimg sexually assaulting someone is a scale, but I can't think of a better way to phrase it right now

a few of my most trusted enneagram sources to help with typing your muses:
the best descriptions of each type with its wing out there (i think it's hilarious that the best source out there is copypaste from an old forum but it's true and we've agreed on it collectively on an enneagram server i'm actively discussing on; enneagram is truly the open source of personality theory)
another neat resource for descriptions that includes integration and disintecration arrows (although it strictly speaks of arrows in the sense of growth arrow always good/stress arrow always bad, and this is not true; you can go to both direction good or bad, even if the overall self growth path may be the integration arrow)
trifix descriptions
instinctual stacking descriptions

I have never read the beetle. However, I have read a little piece of the Wikipedia Page on The Beetle, and have read all the poll descriptions for competitors, and then I vote with my heart (against the main characters, of course...) Anyways, thanks for doing this, this is the most investment in The Beetle that I am ever going to have
As it should be. You're probably having the best possible Beetle experience to be honest, I applaud and salute you.

🤗, 🤯, 🥰, 💌, and 🧠 for the fic writer asks
🤗 What advice would you give to new fanfic writers that are just getting started? - Just write. Don't worry about how you think it sounds. Do not worry about how "good or bad" it is. Do not. Just write. Get all of that out of the way. Insecurity will be your greatest adversary. Improve and think about how you could re-do or write better in the future after you've written! You will never be able to improve or be better at writing if you do not first start writing! It is also okay to take ideas and styles that you see other writers use and implement them! That is how you grow and learn! If you enjoy a particular aesthetic of writing then try it out for yourself! See how it feels! But most importantly simply write regardless of that voice in your head. You can do it. Even if it's "bad" or you do not like what you've made later, do it anyway! Worry about improvements after you have something to improve upon!
🤯 What's a genre you struggle with as a writer (ex. romance, action, etc.)? - Hetero Romance because I feel like the straights are not okay 99% of the time. I do not struggle in writing conflict in romance at all! But with hetero people it simply feels unfit and poorly constructed like a sad facade I cannot replicate.
🥰 How do you feel about reader interaction? Are you open to receiving questions about your fics? - I adore reader interactions! This not only is beneficial for me as a writer but it also builds a bond between me and the communities that I adore being a part of! It's critical to me as a writer, myself, to experience this. I do not need to share every little bit of fanfic that I write. And I do not. There are vast amounts of fics I do not share or have withheld. But the substance that I do share I share because I wish for it to become part of the community I love, adore, and support. It is, in its own way, my method of building bridges. I create. Some people draw and create fanart. Others write. That is my contribution to community. My creations and my writing is how I build those connections and so engagements with and through others wishing to connect with me about my writing is incredibly valuable and deeply, deeply cherished.
💌 How do you feel about comments and feedback? - I am always open for comments and feedback. I have a personal policy that follows something that Neil Gaiman posted once where it is considered in poor taste to offer feedback unless someone asks for it. I, however, do not mind it myself for myself if someone wishes to offer it. I feel I have a good healthy grasp in sifting through what I am able to use and apply for feedback and what feedback is not particularly useful for me. I am comfortable and confident in my writing and always looking to gain improvements. But those improvements can only be applicable if it helps push me in the direction I would like to see my writing go.
I also always love comments! To see and hear how my work impacts other people is incredibly important to me! Even if it's not something writing related. To see how any of my words might help someone else grow, think, or evaluate themself is so incredibly important to me.
There's a quote by Chuck Palahniuk that goes: "Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everyone I've ever known"
I like to think of how my work and my words impact others as having this same effect. And visa versa. I am made up of all of those I engage with and interact with. And you all, are made up of parts of me in a way.
🧠 Pick a character, and I'll tell you my favorite headcanon for them. - There was no character selected for me to run off with! so I will give you my own personal headcanon for two of my favourite characters of all time.
One, Francis Crozier (both not just as a character but a figure so I suppose Historical Headcanon) - It's a small one, but he has a little charm/emblem of St. Brendan that probably is hung or stays next to his berth aboard his ship.
And Raskolnikov is Narcoleptic. Hands down that man is narcoleptic.

every time I watch a DCEU movie I think "that's it, that's the worst superhero movie", and then they go and release another one
in unrelated news, the Ezra Miller Flash movie is fascinatingly terrible in ways I don't think anyone could have predicted, including looking like someone tried to make an FMV superhero game for the xbox 360.
to give it its dues, I didn't hate the experience of watching it as much as I hated watching the snyder cut, but that's mostly because the snyder cut is so slow i could physically feel myself aging as I watched it. flash is unquestionably a worse movie than the snyder cut, in almost every possible regard, but I don't feel like I've lost several years from my lifespan just by watching it, so good job Andy Muschietti. You managed to make a film that's less than 4 hours long.
also they put cgi christopher reeve in this movie against the express wishes of both him and his estate, and I hope every single person involved in making that decision steps barefoot into dogshit.

Kinda sick of the angst in HS when it comes to fan stuff. Not in the sense that things should be happy or that its not fun, no not at all. I'm just sick of how it becomes a competition of "I suffered the most" basically.

i don’t understand the thought behind anti/hate blogs. like all this energy you’re using to trash someone/something could be going towards something you actually enjoy why do that instead
