Alright so I just want everyone to know I saw the new DnD movie last night and it SLAPPED

It was so funny, the characters were well written, and it had some beautiful practical effects. I know enough about DnD to understand some of the in-jokes and nuances, but background info isn't necessary to enjoy it. Also the costumes and set design were gorgeous.

I went in expected some Marvel overly CGI'd quipfest but was so pleasantly blown away by an absolute masterpiece. It was so FUN!

I cannot recommend this movie enough, especially if you enjoy DnD or just like watching actors having so much fun. 10000/10

the mlvn breakup has the potential to be one of the best scenes in the entire show if it coincides with mikes first time coming out to someone and im SICK of people wanting a meaningless breakup in episode one just so you can skip to byler. does heartwarming platonic love and comfort MEAN NOTHING TO YOU?????!!!!

So okay the majority of us agree on these things about Sonic Prime right?

Rebel Rouge and Renegade Knuckles are DEFINITELY together and would die for each other

Nine is an angsty baby that deserves to be protected and have a happy ending (please Netflix I swear to god)

Also Sonic seeing every version of Tails gets him in protective big brother mode and the impact that has on Tails is adorable

Rusty Rose must have some of OG Amy's compassion in there but her transformation in part robot probably hid that aspect of her personality in the programming

Shadow was waiting in the void for God knows how long, calling for Sonic with the mere purpose of beating the shit out of him

Sonic must have some neurodivergency (ADHD maybe?) and there is NO way he's straight

About that one ⬆️. Seriously, all the ships got fuel and all showed chemistry and/or tension. ALL. OF. THEM. HOLY SHIT (also I'm a Multishipper now, thanks Sonic Prime

Now being more specific about each character I'd say:

Rouge is cunning in every universe

Tails is baby in every universe

Amy is down for murder in every universe

Knuckles is strong-willed in every universe

i could talk for hours abt the differences between itafushikugi and sashisu but ultimately it comes down to the former being the cutest little bunnies and the latter being dirty raccoons you find in a trash can outside of your apartment complex

Genuinely hoping that whatever was going on between Darren and Malakai in the Heartbreak High s2 trailer was just Malakai trying to help Darren out with smth because I refuse to believe that Darren would cheat on Ca$h - especially not with Malakai (who would definitely find doing smth like that wrong)

I just remembered that I've seen all of Modern Family and it was honestly kind of a shock. I can remember thinking the writing was excellent but I honestly cannot remember a single thing about that show. Not a single plot or character has stuck in my mind in a meaningful way. I remember that they were well-crafted and entertaining, I do not remember them. That show is just a white vacancy in my brain with "tightly written, clever" stamped on top.

#it's crazy because im not kidding when i say it was a masterclass in sitcom writing #it's clever and funny and heartwarming and has just the right amount of poignancy to make the storylines really land #and somehow still manages to have absolutely no real insight or emotional power whatsoever #incidentally this is also how i feel about paul mccartneys musical career #the difference is that paul is a delight and the only actor from mf who's really exceptionally charismatic is sofia vergara #they'll probably teach it in film classes and i swear you could learn a lot from it but damn i have absolutely no memory of it at all #op #posts that no one asked for

i think the one thing stopping true colors from being my favorite game is 1) because it’s so short and 2) because of the dnd stuff 😭😭😭 i just don’t like dnd idk i’ve tried to play it and it wasn’t my thing and it honestly just gives me second hand embarrassment a bit to play through those scenes JSHDJSHJF

perhaps the reason why aup ended like *that* is because it was not supposed to have a happy ending in the first place, but sayren didnt have the guts to deal with readers' backlash for when they finally kill off the main character so a half baked happy ending is what we get 😔

#for a happy ending of a story to be narratively satisfying the characters gotta actively work hard for it #this happy ending feels empty because quite frankly speaking ludger did nothing to deserve it #he has zero character developments from the beginning to the end and has always been the same #well except for his emotional state getting worse over time #bc instead of making any attempt at all to healthily address it like a mentally mature 40yo adult he let it swallow him whole #(not that im necessarily blaming him but its quite frustrating to see him remain unchanged if aup is meant to be a redemption story)#his OPness is inherent #his genius is inherent #(this is not to say he isnt hardworking / only relying on his inborn talents but the author repeatively failed the 'show dont tell' checks)#(bc it was only implied in the past and we've never truly seen it in the canon present timeline either)#his kindness is inherent #ngl dad!ludger content doesnt appeal to me as much as dad!edgeworth cuz the latter is the fruit of the character's growth and hard labor #while the former is well... its just who he is #usually i love found family content but in aup it bores my mind out bc his interactions w the students + owens are so static & predictable #it was heartwarming at the moment of adoption but later on i find it as tedious as reading generic established romantic relationships #was it because of the lack of tensions and conflicts i wonder #they all became his yes men and no one ever actively challenged his unhealthy mindset or behaviors #anyway id have been more interested if he recognized his biases/favoritism/prejudices towards some certain characters & worked to change it #but welp. that would require character growth which is too much to expect from him ig #he has learnt quite nothing from his journey and tbh aup would ironically feel more meaningful if it ended on a tragic note #ofco i got noblesse'd again 😔#would i kill for aup to have a happy ending? yes #would i rather have a sad ending over the half baked and empty good ending we get? also yes #if it must burn then let the whole world burn. cuz at least it would be more much memorable and impactful that way #and i wouldnt have to feel this disappointed and lose all of my interests in one of my only two beloved aroace MCs in aup </2 #rant

I just recently started to indulge in old fixations of mine and I'm so in love. Can't believe that passion and appreciation for certain series doesn't really die, they just stay on pause in the back of one's mind until you maybe for nostalgia maybe to see what has changed, blossom once again and it still feels good, maybe stronger than before maybe not, but God I fall in love again

#I don't know how spotify works I'm not sure how the images people share are actually generated but you know what I mean lol #Though I do wish the native windows music player thing kept track of like.. how many times you listened to a song or something #merely because I think it would be really funny for me since I'm very much a like 'listen to the same 3 songs on rotation for literally #4 months at a time. then eventually rotate in another few songs to replace those. never revisit any of them again' type person #And like most media I have a lot of trouble connecting with music or ascribing it the same deep meaning that most other people seem to get o #ut of it like. I think maybe it has something to do with my emotional range in general being very shallow (I am neutral 90% of the #time and even when I'm not I just don't feel things very strongly. when I do feel antyhing it's weak fleeting emotions usuually that #I don't even remember a few days from then. You know how babies don't have object permanence? It's like I don't have emotional permanence lo #l. Which is probably standard for like. severe childhood neglect situations where nobody was around for you to mirror their #emotions in early childhood or whatever usually happens when people are being raised. Like if nobody was there to encourage the development #of emotions and show what those look like then maybe your brain just doesn't develop them properly or etc. etc. ANYWAY gjhjhb)#I think maybe that has somehting to do with why it's just really hard for me to care about media of all kinds - and even when I do it's not #very deep. Also probably why I've never really been in a fandom or gone to a concert or been really into anything like that. Because people #form deep emotional connections and memories and attachments to their favorite media and I just like... don't #I can still like things!! But it's always in a more like.. intellectual kind of cognitive way if that makes sense? Like if I liked a TV show #it would never be becaise I find the message heartwarming or the characters relatable or because it made me FEEL something. It would be bec #ause the lore is cool and I like to analyze it. Or I think there's an interesting social dynamic going on which is fun to kind of pick #at the innerworkings of. And if I like a song like.. it's not because This Music Got Me Through A Hard time In My Life or because #I relate deeply to the lyrics or it makes me feel a certain way - it's usually because the overlapping of instruments or thetones that are #used interests me or there's something intruguing or cool about it to hear. Part of why I like classical or choir music is that there's oft #en so many instruments playing over each other it's like a little puzzle to try and hear each part seperately or etc. etc.#Which isn't to say that I can NEVER relate to or feel some sort of attachement or idea related to a piece of media. but just that it's not #ever very strong. like not powerful enough to be some significant motivator or pivotal aspect of my personality or etc.#BUT ANYWAY. I still can like things to a degree probably not just the same exact way as others lol.#So I rarely even listen to music that often (maybe once a week or so? I'll listen to like one song or two. but I'm not like a 'have music on #in the background playing in the house all the time' or 'listen to music while I get ready' type) but when I do it's very repetitive. I do #think it would be interesting to see the statistics then lol. I thought windows media player used to track statistics so I wonder why the #'updated' version of that on windows 10 doesnt??? Maybe bc they assume everyone is using streaming services instead? stinky #I don;t think the built in music player on my phone tracks anything either. It's more of just a file accessor or something. hmmgbb #That alone will never convince me to actually use some service to get music though lol. I don't need the statistics. yttmp3 for life babey

#no its not perfect #no it not groundbreaking #but it was fun! and emotional! and angsty and wholesome and heartwarming!!#i get people had very high expectations but like :/#and half the issues people say they hace with the book... i dont really see it #i actually thought it treated childhood trauma and the different ways it can happen and affect a person beautifully #and the ending felt rewarding and also honest! like it all made sense #there are some things i thought should be addressed better but its a book it doesn't have to be perfect for me to enjoy it #but agian thats just me i guess #tsats spoilers #the sun and the stars

i think Winter Kills by Ed Brubaker and Young Allies by Robert Stern are two of the best bucky comics in terms of revealing bucky as a man without the rigmarole of the normal superhero motifs

#you really get a sense of his grief #a lot of other comics that have his thought bubbles #tell his story #but it sounds like a narrative whereas #these two #expose his actual feelings #and obviously it's heartbreaking #but i love how much of the focus is on the man not the hero #and also #what makes me really emotional #is the amount of RESPECT that he's shown in these two comics #like he was a war hero #and people recognising that is just #heartwarming #anyway #end rant #i'm emotional about bucky barnes & christmas
