rin's ln chapter is still haunting me by simply being rin's story lol. it's not about sae it's about rin's life and yet rin's life was all about sae. he's weaved in every thread he was the whole picture of it but it's rin's like there's somewhat of a like. spectator angle to it, as is the case with hiori to karasu in the 3rd volume. sae was rin's whole being and yet we don't really know what sae's story actually is bc theres only one mc seat and absolutely no character can cross this line

n the thing that truly fucked me up is that I Know sae's story isn't going to be About Rin. this isn't a two-way thing going on sae was always his own being sort of. rin was there. there's no other way he's his brother so rin was there. but sae experienced [insert everything that rin has seen bc again we don't know what his story actually is] like rin was there but he's not the whole thing... something something sae lived in the real world but rin lived in sae

I guess there's something haunting in it, in the way rin's story is also about sae and sae's story was never about rin. bc the sae in rin's story is almost like a concept we don't really know or understand him except from the stories rin tells us. sae was there, but the individual being with his own story wasn't, while in sae's story. well. idk how to say this but even if sae did see him as his own person, it doesn't really matter, does it? we know following sae's life path was rin's whole thing. that's the person sae would see, right? his brother.

it's just that. they were both devoid of meaning or perhaps ego in their own respective ways in both of their own stories. rin was only repeating part of sae's story in his own story, while sae faced a crisis at some point which id bet means his story would be one of losing one's own meaning, like that descent into emptiness. the only thing that defined them, then, and i say this laughing very grimly, is that they're brothers.

obito is a coke fiend and the only reason why the akatsuki took so long to gain all their funds was that obito kept using up all their budget to get high. i KNOW this is true. cant keep up a madara-level god complex without medical support.

unpopular opinion:

so i havent rly seen that much obito meta recently (or any at all actually). so idk if this is still an unpopular opinion. but i think obito being convinced to change his path and join naruto against madara is quite sensical for him actually. obito is 1) more emotionally motivated and thus can also be influenced emotionally (unlike madara) and 2) much of his views kind of hinge on his ability to make others confirm them for him. as in breaking others down to the point of them adapting a similar worldview as him. obito did that with itachi by helping him w his genocide, he did it w nagato and the akatsuki as a whole but he couldnt do it w naruto. and thats why naruto could convince him to change his views.

Anyway, moving on to my rambling ^q^

To start my theories, i just wanna first squeel happily and say that i'm ecstatic because my guess for eros' name is correct LMAOO it's lee, guys ^^ idk if it's just a funny coincidence or whatnot, but it's funny lol

And eyy, since that's out of the way, i'll get into the main part of my rambling, which is my (new) assumption!

This particular dialog is from the 'voice message from arlecchino' (if i remember correctly):

"I'd like to start by thanking you for your cooperation. Had it not for you informing me of his background and giving witness accounts, I'm sure that he would've slipped by without paying his dues. It'd be troublesome should the fatui try to sue the agency when the perpetrator is nothing that we're looking for."

Well, since arlecchino started the whole voice message by talking about cupid's employer (plus it's already been specified there), we can deduce that she's talking about boss. With cupid willing to 'betray' (can it be called betray when there's no trust between them?) boss, arlecchino has acquired many infos about him and all sorts of stuff from cupid. Maybe, arlecchino is trying to confirm whether it was boss who did the crimes (the ghost killing, i think) or not?

"I'm sure that you've been dying to see him pay his dues. All of us are."

Although rin's theory does actually fit well with the words "It'd be troublesome should the fatui try to sue the agency when the perpetrator is nothing that we're looking for.", but with how arlecchino's been talking about cupid wanting to get 'revenge' to the one who wronged her, i feel like the culprit would be boss. Or... maybe somebody entirely different but still related with boss? Since arlecchino did say something along the line of:

"That aside, I believe that we're at the last phase of our plan together. I'm sure you know what to do, mx. O████e. You've always wanted to give your last message to the one that truly wronged you."

Maybe it really is not boss? "You've always wanted to give your last message to the one that truly wronged you." Although yes, boss did so many things bad to her. But maybe there was another someone who actually did something way worse to her. That person could either be affiliated with boss, or it could be a nobody. Ahhh... it would've been great if we know who or whatever they're talking about. And yk, now that i've read rin's theory, i noticed that these words are really implying that it's someone who we're not really expecting, i wonder who... hm. 🤔

(QwQ i want to theorise more, but i couldn't find any connections with other theory or even why it would be like that. Well, i wanna search for more infos from the earlier posts, so i could find if there's any connection with my other new theory, but i'm outside rn, so that would be a bit impossible :p)

So now that CCC has come out and I've played through it I can finally give some thoughts on how the CCC interlude for Extella Zero portion of Rulers of the Moon. First off, it's during all of this that Rin and Hakuno hook up, with Rin getting a lot more focus during CCC, rather than just having the initial chapter then just having nothing else for Rin aside from being a side character. The AU is focused on Rin and Hakuno so very much going have them in the spotlight rather than Sakura coming out of nowhere and being the main ship. Secondly, while Hakuno does still do Punishment Time on Lip and Melt, the Student Council ends up finding a way to have it where Hakuno doesn't end up killing the Alter-Egos. I'm all for Hakuno seeking out a way so they could survive, but what they did in CCC was extremely lazy to the point it ends up hurting Hakuno as a character. Hakuno would still explain why their love is wrong and try to help them correct it, not just leave them as they are and hope they learn themselves. This way the Kiara fight can still happen but it's much less contrived.

Speaking of the Kiara fight, after Nameless, Tamamo, and Nero return from Kiara flinging them 3 to the edge of the galaxy, thanks to Tamamo specifically being able to travel light-speed and bringing Nameless and Nero along, Hakuno sends Shirano (Male Hakuno), Nameless, and Tamamo back to the school building to save and protect Rin and Rani while she deals with Kiara with Nero alone. Very much am not a fan of how Rin and Rani apparently sacrifice themselves to give Hakuno as much time as they can to defeat Kiara before she begins pulling in souls from the Earth and it's extremely brief. Rin and Rani deserved more than a few final lines before their apparently sacrifice and Rin doesn't even get any lines, it's specifically Rani who talks to Hakuno. Finally, the characters remember the events of CCC. Extella seems to go back and forth on if they remember or not and what specifically they remember so I'm just going to have it that, thanks to the way they returned to the Near Side, i.e. Sakura taking over the Moon Cell Core, they all end up retaining their memories, leading to a scene where Rin gets embarrassed about Hakuno asking what she would want to do as a first date. And now finally, the thoughts regarding Karna and Elizabeth when Hakuno and Rin meet them in Extella, since I've now played CCC and can be comfortable about talking about the two. First off, Kara is very much a welcome addition, with Rin even bringing up that she was curious about the other person who logged out in the aftermath of the Grail War. It would be here where Rin would tell Hakuno that, from the Moon Cell's records, Jinako was able to log out of SE.RA.PH. and returned to Earth, with Karna explaining the details about him using his Golden Armor to protect Jinako from being deleted, allowing her to return home which Hakuno is very much thankful to Karna for doing so. Also, as a side note, with their memories intact, Hakuno would take time during the 6th and 7th round, and even before going to the Core, to talk to Jinako, wanting to at least make what she believes is the last weeks of Jinako's life happy ones. Anyways, as for Elizabeth, Rin and Hakuno are surprise to Elizabeth back and very much still holding to her reformed ways, to the point Rin actually starts thinking she could actually make money off of Elizabeth whole idol thing. Still need to work on her singing but Elizabeth is very much an improvement over how the three first met. Also, no, Elizabeth doesn't get corrupted by Archimedes and Velber in this AU. In hindsight, it seems very counter intuitive to have all the development for Elizabeth in CCC only to seemingly dump it by making her a brainwashed/corrupted servant of the Umbral Star, even if she unintentionally ends up saving the day by the end.

The voice was distorted, run through some kind of vocal changer. Standard practice for this kind of operation. None of them wanted any of the others knowing too much about who they were.

“Targets in place,” Matsuo replied. “Seven women, all around the table near the back. Clear sight lines from here to them.”

“Seven? What the hell do you mean seven?”

The voice sounded worried.

“What do you mean?” Matsuo said.

“There’s supposed to be nine! Where are the other two?”

“My, he must have just miscounted. Why don’t you take a good look and make sure of what you saw, Mister Matsuo?”

Matsuo froze.

This channel was supposed to be secure. There shouldn’t be any way for someone other than the two of them to get into it, and yet, there was a new voice in his ear.

“Who the hell is that?! Did you take Matsuo’s communicator?! Is Matsuo dead?!”

“Of course he’s not. Mister Matsuo is still right where he was before, on the roof of the office building across the street from the restaurant, right?”

A chill ran up Matsuo’s spine. As part of the secrecy between them, he’d never actually revealed his sniping position. Even if this third voice had been listening in on this channel from the very start, they shouldn’t know that. Slowly, trying not to make any big movements, he shifted his eyes around, looking for any sign of another sniper watching his position, and shifted the mirror next to his rifle, scanning the roof behind him.

“But let’s not talk about Mister Matsuo. Mister Matsuo is just doing his job, right? He’s just a professional in a dangerous business. But someone hired Mister Matsuo, and he’s the actual problem, right?”

“Damnit, who are you?! What is this?!”

“So noisy… well, we’ll solve that soon enough.”

“What?! What are you talking ab-”

There was a bang loud enough for Matsuo to wince, followed by static. Then another voice.

“It’s done.”

Matsuo had been an assassin a long time. The only way you could survive that kind of career were good instincts, bordering on a sixth sense. And right now, Matsuo’s instincts were telling him that he was being watched. Through a scope.

“Now, you’re just a professional, right Mister Matsuo?”

“Yes,” Matsuo said.

“You don’t have any personal stake in this, right?”

“No.”

“Then with your client out of the picture, there’s no reason to continue with the mission, right?”

Matsuo swallowed. He knew exactly what “out of the picture” meant in cases like this.

“Right,” he managed.

“Then how about you slowly move your hands away from that trigger and start packing up that rifle, hm? No sudden movements. Let’s get it alllll packed up, nice and tidy, and just walk away. Does that sound good, Mister Matsuo?”

“...Yes.”

The whole time Matsuo disassembled his rifle and packed it away, he could still feel the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. Finally, when he closed his case, he heard a noise of approval over the radio.

“Very good. Let’s not meet again, okay?”

The radio went silent. And Matsuo hoped beyond hope that they never would.

5 - how do they typically dress? does their wardrobe lean more towards practicality or aesthetics? A little mix of both. He does have Adventuring glams, and Going Out glams, but despite being a Black Mage he rarely dresses in robes

12 - how long have they been around? do you know their birthday? is their birthday the day you made them or another day? what do they think of celebrating birthdays? Not As old as my main, but he's the first alt I made once I finished endwalker because I really wanted a catboy but not fantasia away. 15 - how big or small is their family? who did they live with growing up? do they live with anyone now? Crenic was born and raised in the Skatay Range in the Viera woods. There was his parents, Einar and Ysera, an older sister Arjn, and two younger sisters, Alva and Njala. And then his mentor was Cedrik, and the others who trained with him, Ruuj, Rael, Yurhee, and Iryut, which all he counts as much as family as well. When Alva decided to leave the woods, he left with her and when they got separated, he was alone for several years, until he met Rin. The two live together now. Rin's adoptive parents are also Crenic's in laws who all get along and he also cares a lot about.

34 - how would your character describe themselves? it doesn't have to line up with how they really are. Years in a Garlean prison definitely wrecked any confidence in himself. Superficially, he'd just say he's trying to put out some good in the world, helping people whenever he can. He does admit he can be stubborn, but also very loyal to the people he cares about. If you were to actually reach behind the surface levels, Crenic thinks he's a failure, and he blames himself for a lot of things that were out of his control, or done to him.

Willing to listen to Izuku but not necessarily take his advise. Now for things going on in canon, I have my own ideas of what to do and will not confirm or deny things until it comes time to post that part. ;) 'Cause suspense and no spoilers. But by all means speculate all you want. :P

So Kouda. Now I have an idea for an animal companion for him and those on the discord may recall that brainstorm. But I'm open to what others think! Seriously, the boy needs a zoo. Give him all the animal friends!

Sh-sh-shout out to Divergent and Bigsmile on the discord for logicking (I know that's not a real word. :P) out that Katsuki could secrete explosive sweat all over body, but the ignition spot is just his hands. The suit is sort of Dune inspired collecting liquid from all over his body and could work to replace the storage tanks. It could also automatically fill the smaller grenades instead of manually adding cartridges with is an unnecessary extra step. I don't have an exact design for the gauntlets in mind but just slimmer than they are in canon so Katsuki can actually use his arms.

Sh-sh-shout out to Coup on the discord for being the science friend when it comes to Kodai’s quirk. The whole affecting size but not weight or mass or whatever. It was a bit ago and I don't remember all of it. :P If I got anything wrong, this part or otherwise, I apologize and please let me know. ^____^ I am no expert and am relying on others and the internet.

The transcripts Monoma mentions are in part 2 chapter 12! Also, I had fun having them interact again. I want them to be friends! Though there will be bumps because of their personalities. ;) First name basis though!

Coup had some points when it came to Hitoshi's helmet to make it more comfortable but I was too lazy to redraw things. :P It's good enough to get you a general idea though! Izuku's new helmet design to be revealed at a later time. ;)

Anime Update V3 8

Vinland Saga S2 - The last two episodes were interesting in how the penultimate episode played out like a proper season finale, bringing an ending to the Ketil’s Farm arc that spanned the season, but then there’s one extra episode remaining and it plays out almost like a Series Fauxnale that also sets up where the remainder of the series will go should it continue past here. In the first, Thorfinn not only successfully avoids a violent conflict with Canute and is able to move the king enough to get him to withdraw all his forces from the land, but thanks to this, a change comes over Canute and how he intends to rule going forward, the ghost of his father hopefully haunting him no longer. It’s been building on top of itself all season but only now did it really hit me hard just how beautiful a character arc Thorfinn had undergone and how much more I’ve come to care about him and love his bond with Einar too. With both slaves free to leave with Leif, the finale gives us the long anticipated return to Iceland, and it was somehow the first time I’ve actually cried at anything on this show (Thorfinn and his mother) yet also contained some of the funniest stuff seen on this show in a long time (Thorfinn and his sister). I felt like I’d fully circled to the end when it all came back to the incident with the dying slave in Episode 1, and how Thorfinn now understands the full meaning behind everything his father said and wants to seek out Vinland in order to create a warm, peaceful, nigh utopian safe haven from the uncivil world that the Vikings inhabit. With a much needed shave and new hairdo, he’s ready to put together a crew and set out to do so. I hope we can see his future exploits animated some time later down the line, because in times like these, now more than ever, many of us need a place we can call our “Vinland.”

Hunter x Hunter - Ar last Gon and his friends are ready to infiltrate the palace and confront the Royal Guard in order to stop the selection, while Palm is still undercover, Netero is well prepared for his fight with Meruem, and Meruem himself is questioning his own existence and if his purpose really is what he’d believed it to be...

SHUFFLE! - I saw the beach episode where Rin and Sia end up getting washed away to a different shore on the other side of the island and mistakenly believe they’ve been stranded in another dimension and have to make out, which leads to the following episode where everyone is now under the impression that Rin chose Sia as his bride and are to be married soon. Sia is all ready to go for that but when she sees that everyone else is not so ready and may in fact be burdened by this, especially her demon bestie Nerine, she decides to call off the wedding and strive harder to win Ron’s heart the right way so that she’ll be the one he chooses. Basically I've been seeing a lot of Sia recently, and that’s never a bad thing. ^^

The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II - This week Waver had to visit a manor that suffered a loss of an important person and is now being haunted by what could be a supernatural murderer out to finish the remaining servants and the lord’s daughter who could claim his inheritance. The build up had some intrigue to it, but I wasn’t that enthused by the solution and how it turned the whole affair into an action sequence, though seeing Gray’s hood come off to reveal her full Saber hair was something I guess.

KonoSuba - And speaking of hauntings in manors, we get more of that on this show. Twice, in fact! First we get Kazuma and his party having to stay overnight at a mansion tended to by a female lich shopkeeper named Wiz in order to put to rest the spirits haunting it ever since her friend, the former owner, passed on. It goes as silly and not all that scary as you’d expect, but at least they get to keep the manor as their new lodging now. The episode that followed was even sillier, with Kazuma paying a succubus to give him a lucid dream where he can have whatever he wants, but the succubus runs late yet Kazuma misunderstands the situation and thinks his actual nighttime activity with Megumin is the dream, leading to all sorts of awkward comedy and him needing to save face in the end by lying about having been controlled by the succubus to act out in that way.

Symphogear XV - What I’d earlier figured was going on turned out correct; Fudou cast some mental control hex on Tsubasa to get her to serve his wishes, as she turned on her friends and took the now possessed Miku to Fudou, who planned on harnessing the godly power to galvanize Japan’s own power and even mentally enslave most of the population, for Japan’s “defense”. Maria and Fudou’s two sons arrive to stop this, Fudou kills Tsubasa’s father, Tsubasa reaches full power as she turns on her depraved grandfather and gives him the pummeling he deserves, and when the Noble Red girls infiltrate the place to break Shem-Ha loose, she reactivates her power and swiftly kills the three of them. At the end Fudou very nearly succeeded in getting Tsubasa to end things on his terms but thankfully Genjo intervened: the Kanzanari is going to move beyond the old monster, who can look forward to rotting in prison for his treacherous acts. During all this, Hibiki was having a productive and heartfelt talk with her dad; who has thankfully wised up and made progress in self improvement since we last saw him. He’s got faith in his girl to not give up on saving her beloved best friend, and so do I!

Eureka Seven - This episode was just kind of going okayish at first, with us meeting the bear-sized, Gonky scientist ex-husband of Gekko State’s own doctor. Then in the second half we see Dominic and Anemone again (yay!), we see Dewey again (fuck!), and we finally meet his much hyped up Ageha Squad…who turn out to be five prepubescent girls in matching attire. These kids are normally as cold and collected as they’re trained to be, even when shooting someone, but they get pretty hyper and over enthused with their work once they get down to it, and yes jt is as creepy and silly as it sounds. They lead an operation that drops a bomb of sorts down into where Scub Coral has nested, resulting in a sudden, confusingly fast paced and alarmingly gory attack on human civilization by a massive wave of Coralians! Both Eureka and Anemone can sense it and are pained by it, Gekko State reacts to it, the episode ends and I honestly had a hard time trying to figure out what had even just happened here. I was not prepared for this. This show is going mad now! MAD, I say!

Gintama - An episode all about Katsura, with the Shinsengumi present and on his tail, and we don’t even see Gintoki until the last minute. Katsura had to hide out in a ramen shop, lie about his identity, and help out the owner by learning to prepare more dishes himself. The twist here is the shop owner lost her father to radical exclusionist terrorists like Katsura, leading to her loathing such people who do such things, and she had a really good line that speaks volumes to how horrible terrorism is at achieving anything of significant value and worth to others, as it only leaves senseless mass destruction and more suffering in its wake, a statement very relevant to today’s world and to those who equate terrorist ideology and methodology to legitimate resistance. Katsura has a lot to reconsider about his life now, as even after he rescues the young woman from abductors, her life and his are not compatible.

AND

Code Geass R2 - Recent events also made me curious into going back to this show, which I’d not done since watching only it’s first episode last year and being reminded of why I wasn’t a fan. This one unfortunately did not win me over either. Showing how the cliffhanger ending of the first season got resolved in a laughably, insultingly underwhelming way was not a good start, and how Suzaku went on to act when he brought Lelouch before Emperor Charles was astonishingly out-of-character: he’d been furious and seeking vengeance before, not cold and valuing dominance to the point of selling out everyone who ever mattered to him! This did not feel like him at all! Kallen’s character also took a huge hit with trite tsundere humor at a place where it was not at all appropriate, and the publicized return of Zero and his Black Knights lacked so much power when it’s coming after only a single episode of us seeing a Zero-less world. It’s like instead of taking big steps forward to service the proceedings of the last season’s finale and possibly get this show afloat again after the stupid “Euphie dies, Lelouch lies, and there’s total Armageddon between Britannia and Area 11 all over what began with a bad taste joke” episode that led there, the show opted to take big steps backwards so that we return to a slightly altered version of the old status quo, in which we can only expect bigger and badder trainwrecks made to justify over-convenience in plot development. Oh well, at least Lelouch and C.C remain mostly pleasing to watch.

alright, so i went through the ama with wan hazmer and daim dziauddian on twitch and picked out every little tidbit i could about the megastars bc i knew you guys would want to know. this is a long post and i’m on mobile atm so i can’t put it under a read more — sorry about that! bosses are in chronological order, starting with DJSS and ending with Eve!

DJ SUBATOMIC SUPERNOVA

- djss took the least amount of time to develop out of all the bosses (haz says his fight took about half a year.)

- daim purposely tried to make djss' name as long as he could. he was specifically looking at negasonic teenage warhead from deadpool for inspiration.

- haz and daim do have the briefing/kliffnotes for djss. they discussed sharing them at some point, but idk when that would happen.

- related to the above, daim says that dj is in his mid thirties. EDIT: his kliffnotes were shared on twitter and they say he’s 41. daim must have goofed haha

- when asked if djss actually has a face and how he eats, daim compares it to kenny from south park and how you never see his face. he thinks dj does have a face in there, but that we just never see it. as for the “how does he eat” part, daim says that sometimes they don’t have to show everything.

- daim is a djneon/neonnova shipper, and it’s one his favourite pairings alongside zuke/mayday.

- daim said that uncle ali basically instantly landed the role as djss. he was that good.

SAYU

- sayu was obviously inspired by hatsune miku and other vocaloids, but haz brings up one particular commercial involving miku and google chrome, which involves a bunch of people collborating on songs and concept art for miku, similar to how sayu started as a collab between remi and tila in-universe.

- someone asked about the models for sayu's crew's apartments. there wasn't much on that, but haz mentions that one of his favourite nsr fanfics (yes, he reads them) is "Road to Redemption," and there's a scene that takes place in a studio where the crew works on sayu, and he really likes that.

- the devs wanted sayu's name to sound both malay and japanese at the same time (as well as a nod to miku). haz says it means “warm water” in japanese.

- akusuka is a direct copy of akihabara in terms of locale.

- sayu’s shellfish commercial is a homage to a real snack in malaysia named mamee monster, which is hugely popular with kids. the format of the commercial itself was inspired by a pocky commercial that featured hatsune miku.

YINU

- her game design (for her boss fight) was partially done in ms paint by music director falk (who made the base version of her boss theme)

- yinu's mom doesn't have a name. she's just mother/mama.

- haz confirmed that yinu's father is, in fact, dead.

- daim thought yinu’s name was a nod to yuna (a popular malaysian artist). it’s not.

- natura is daim’s favourite district. he likes how calm it is compared to the others.

- daim said that they wanted a hint of hope in all three of yinu’s backstory photographs, to show that no matter how bad your life gets, there’s always that glimmer of hope and that good things can still happen.

1010

- the members of 1010 do not have any official names.

- the assets for the autographs were made by the artists at one of the partner companies working with metronomik on nsr. haz and daim didn't really have anything to do with making them, and while daim did approve them for the final game, he was sorta skimming through a bunch of assets along with the autographs, and he didn't realize what they really were at the time until later. haz is impressed with how the fans managed to decipher them.

- 1010's fight was purposefully put between yinu's and eve's as a break from the emotional stuff.

- michael jackson was used as a reference for 1010's animations/moves.

- the Bio Tactical Shield that you get for zuke after beating 1010 is a reference to BTS.

- tangibly related, but the collectable figurines are supposed to serve more as a backstory to vinyl city as a whole, rather than 1010 or neon j. daim describes the figures as what events were going on and what people were doing before the events of nsr.

- 1010’s appearance from older trailers (where they all looked the same) were actually placeholders. 1010’s actual designs weren’t finished yet when those trailers were released.

- parts of 1010’s designs (for their bodies/outfits) were inspired by tron uprising, a project that daim worked on.

- somebody asked why 1010 and neon j have sculpted butt plates. daim and haz have no idea, but daim suggested that ellie (who designed 1010) and jan (who did their character models) put them there to up the “sexy robot” factor.

- daim’s favourite member of 1010 is purl-hew/blue, and haz’s favourite is eloni/green.

- the members of 1010 were designed based on popular tropes in boy bands. rin/white is “the main guy,” zimelu/red is the “bad boy,” purl-hew/blue is the “cool guy,” haym/yellow is the “young/innocent one,” and eloni/green is the “weird/funny one.”

- eloni/green not getting fan mail was based on how the “funny guy” of kpop bands/idol groups don’t seem to get as much attention as the rest of the group.

NEON J

- haz and daim didn't expect neon j to become so popular. haz joked about blaming it on ddaddystar, who did that doodle of djss and neon j from the credits.

- when asked about neon j’s age, daim said he’s definitely older than djss, and that he could be in his forties.

- related to the age thing, someone in chat said he should be older if he went to war in the sixties. haz replied by saying they never mentioned what year the game takes place in, so it doesn’t necessarily take place in the present/2020.

- a lot of people asked about the border wars, and daim and haz said they like leaving the bulk of it up to fan interpretation.

- daim said that neon j’s organs were preserved in a robotic shell after the war, and that’s why he’s considered a cyborg.

- as stated above, daim is a djneon/neonnova shipper, and it’s one his favourite pairings alongside zuke/mayday.

- neon j’s monologue was slightly longer, but it was cut down because zul (neon j’s va) didn’t do very many takes for the monologue, and the takes he did do didn’t have the comedic punch that daim was looking for, so it got shortened.

- the singing parts of neon j’s lines were ad-libbed by zul in his audition, and daim liked it so much that it stayed for the final game.

- neon j’s monologue had to be altered in the japanese dub so that the jokes/comedy would make more sense.

EVE

- the color changing paintings from her boss fight were created by accident.

- eve was put as the last boss because of how emotional her relationship with zuke was and how complicated and intricate she is as a whole compared to the rest of the bosses.

- daim considers eve to be the "final boss" for zuke, while tatiana is the final boss for mayday.

- eve took the longest to develop out of all the bosses. she was orignally a lot more complicated, and daim said they had to "filter" a lot of things about her in order to tone her down and fit her into the game.

- eve was almost scrapped from the game. daim said her concept as an eccentric artist wasn't as well known as the other four bosses’ concepts, and combine that with how long it took to finalize her... yeah.

- none of the artists have set in stone heights because of how the gameplay works, but eve is the tallest one. the closest scene in the game that has them at their actual heights is the ending.

- her name was originally eva, but it was changed bc there’s already a popular artist with the same name.

- daim explains that a big part of eve’s concept and theme is her embracing herself. he uses the example of eve’s backstory where she starts out hating herself and trying to cover the pink half of her face, but then starts doing less of that overtime. he also mentions that all the body parts (hands, arms, legs, etc.) from her fight also come from her embracing her body and using it in her artwork.

Ok, so the spoilers blew me away. It is more than what i hoped for. I'll just give my very brief, mostly RinHaru focused summary mixed with my incoherent ramblings and assumptions for those impatient under the cut. RH fans can read the actual full spoilers on the RH discord server (and i really advice you to read the amazing detailed summary there if you haven't yet, it's almost like watching the movie, just applying a bit of imagination lol). This post is really more of my ramblings than retelling the movie plot, though there are major spoilers ahead!!!

So, turns out it IS Haru who said "after all, I'm alone, all alone." I wondered all this time what the f made him feel that way, and by the end Rin dropped that bomb.

Ok, if you didn't read the spoilers, what you need to know first is that Rin failed to qualify for the 100m free in the All Japan, with Kinjou taking 1st, Haru 2nd, Rin 3rd places in the finals (only 2 ppl qualify in each event), so in Sydney, he only swam his 100m fly. Yeah, Rin and Haru not swimming together was something i feared. I won't go into details, just the essense of it. In Sydney, Haru passed the prelims. Rin and Ikuya both failed to make it past the prelims on their respective races (both taking 5th places). Haru immediately rushed after Rin but couldn't find him in the locker room since the latter was angsting in the shower. Haru came 3rd in his semis after Albert and Kinjou, feeling like drowning but somehow getting the drive back from the memory of Rin's words "You think no one can beat you in the water, right?" But for the finals, Albert didn't show up. I wonder what's up with him. Did he feel fed up swimming just as his job, not for fun, broke from the tank and ditched his slave owner coach??

Back in Japan, everyone trained hard, not sure if Rin returned to train in Australia and just visited during autumn and winter, or if he trained in Japan too. There was a lot of interactions, Haru finally asking Rin if he's alright, and of course there's no way he can be after that loss, Sousuke being supportive of Haru, Makoto supporting Rin, just everything is so wholesome, i really look forward to seeing it. And then the winter Iwatobi, and that final angst to kill us all.

Rin tells Haru he decided to drop free to focus solely on his fly. Because he really wants to go pro and seems that's also what Mikhail advised him? But God. No. Of course Haru feels crushed. After the S1 "I won't swim with Rin ever again?" now this. Haru takes it really, really badly.

And Rin saying, hurt, is this your true feelings? And that he's done with him. That he really wanted to swim the relay together. But Haru possessed by Albert at this point, with purple fire blazing in his eyes, and his true voice can't surface. When he rushes after Rin, he's already gone. Fuck just what is all this??? The second movie is better resolve this mess beautifully, preferably under the same sakura in full bloom. Because KA can't be so cruel, right? All this build up is bound to mean something. I'm pretty sure about where it is headed, but i won't raise my hopes too high just in case I'm crazy, the world is crazy and KyoAni CAN be that cruel.

Out of all things i didn't dare hope for this movie to deliver, they actually went and made Haru say "You always appear, mess up my life and then act selfishly/leave me", just for how many years he kept that bottled up in him, can you imagine?? Ever since that first sakura scene in elementary school. And he finally voiced that. And then, "it's better you weren't there at all." (UPD: turns out that line wasn't there, it's a mistake in the initial report. The whole conversation went a bit differently, you can dm me for details.)

The fact that Rin and Haru both realized like immediately that they didn't actually mean all that shit gives me hope.

But omg that scene. Haru collapsing by the bricks in the rain crying after Rin left. Calling Azuma to say he's thrown everything away now and is ready to become stronger. I can't imagine actually watching it, my chest aches already.

So, after all, the ultimate conflict of Free! seems to be the idiots needing to realize that in order to become stronger, they just have to be together. No jokes. Rin, enough of Australia. Seriously. Only together, you can both achieve your true potential. And certainly you can do it all, fly and free. I hope Papasuke and Mamakoto will help them realize that, if they can't on their own.

Btw, isn't Rin's conclusion that swimming free somehow impedes him similar to his S1 belief that he ruined himself by swimming the relays?? They might have resolved that, but seems the core conflict remained. Namely, Rin and Haru keeping distance to become stronger each on their own instead of just swimming together and discover their full potential while motivating each other. Stupid boys, you know you swim your best together. Whyyy do you keep ignoring that?

But seriously, I'm hurt but I'm just so grateful for this plot, because this time, the angst seems entirely justified, mature and in character. Hopefully we'll endure the wait and it will be worth it.

Comun translated most of the new 4gamer interview about Tsukihime Remake and while everything is interesting to me, I have some thoughts on specific points.

Nothing we didn't already know from past interviews, but it's really fun seeing this always be the first thing Nasu brings up. "Yeah, Tsukihime was real outdated. We're fixing all that"

It sounds like the original plan for FGO was to stop after the Temple of Solomon, with the game's whole story centering around Romani. Now, we all know FGO was making way too much fucking money for Sony to let them stick to that plan, but this would explain why Epic of Remnant happened: Nasu definitely did not have a part 2 scheduled, and needed the writing team to buy him some time.

This is going to be its own post later just you wait.

I genuinely think this was their method of moving Shiki closer to Shirou, but without simply copying Shirou again. While Shirou is literally unable to think about himself due to his trauma but is able to disguise that with the facade of a happy life, Shiki is forced to think about himself by literally seeing his fragile mortality at all times, and that (naturally) worries him. Of course, there's no way you can talk about seeing death in everything without sounding completely insane, so while Shirou unknowingly puts up a cheerful facade, Shiki purposely presents himself as a cheerful boy to hide his worries. It is similar to Shirou's situation, and yet completely different.

I was thinking from earlier readings that Tohno is the only character to not get a power buff, but while his Nanaya powers seem the same, the MEoDP got upgrades (which I suppose is also stealth buffing Ryougi). The MEoDP is now able to peer into the very origins of things (Shiki is able to see Vlov's past when he concentrates too hard on Vlov's point), but maybe the strangest, most powerful change is Shiki being able to chain death lines.

My personal theory is that this is going to be an expansion of Araya stating that Ryougi's eyes were forcibly trying to see death even in an object without death (like his buddhist relic arm). What's going to happen is that the MEoDP doesn't SEE the lines of death, it DRAWS them over everything, thus Shiki can chain lines together by his eyes drawing intersecting lines between two different existences (the hallway and Roa's legs). How does this work metaphysically? I have no idea. Maybe the eyes are able to tie existences together conceptually if they are physically close enough. We will see.

One of the biggest sins of the original Tsukihime was being TOLD Ciel was a badass without ever properly seeing her fight a real opponent that wasn't Arcueid. I'm really glad that the Remake doesn't only fix this, she goes absolutely wild in this one.

And now we have a NEW average for Mages. The original Tsukihime put their numbers at 40, then Fate/Stay Night at 20-30, now the Remake places them around 20. Assuming Shirou's still the same, he's actually slightly above average now! Rin's (and presumably Sakura's) numbers got nerfed by half, but Ciel had a ridiculous +1000 added to her old stats so she's now 10x stronger than the Tohsaka girls rather than 4x. She's also 2.5x stronger than the single best specimen the Clock Tower has, not counting Zelretch who can simply draw upon the energy of the infinite kaleidoscope (which is how Rin competed with Angra's infinite mana in Heaven's Feel).

This is how I learned who played Dr. Arach.

I LOVE that they brought on Sasaki Shounen to specifically storyboard fight scenes, considering how they were easily the strongest part of the Tsukihime manga.

iwaizumi shuts his phone off with a faint click, throws his head back against the headrest and shuts his eyes. he feels lightheaded, hands clam around his phone and the steering wheel subconsciously. was he always this nervous to talk to you? he can’t remember the last time he’s seen your face, the last time since he’s heard your voice. he misses it so much it makes his heart clench.

he lets out a long shaky breath as he wills himself to open his eyes, peer out the window. the club lights pulse faintly in the darkness of the night, he hears the faint music and clamor of club goers. the team’s last reply was from roughly an hour ago. he shivers thinking how he managed to cut the drive time in half and thanks the heavens for the mostly barren roads he drove through.

he can only imagine how everyone must be hammered by now. the “demonic hour” as they collectively dubbed 3:00am, is nearing. the demonic hour is when ushijima starts speaking in english considerably louder than his usual stern yet soft spoken voice. bokuto slouched against his seat, arms over his chest, passed out and snoring steadily. atsumu and sakusa may start swapping personalities soon, osamu and suna are talking about extraterrestrial life, and hinata is probably stumbling on the dancefloor holding in the urge to puke. iwaizumi also fondly recalls your friends, how kiyoko would be sleeping on top of the table, god forbid someone tries to wake her. alisa would be flirting with someone’s girlfriend, and tendou making everyone take “shots” of water, nearly falling off as he laughs at their muscle memory reactions as if they are still taking a slug of alcohol.

and of course, his mind wanders to you. how you slur your words and swear you’re not that drunk. you gauge each miniscule action and word carefully in an attempt to prove to everyone you’re sober, but it only gives you away so much more because you’re moving in x0.75 playback speed. he catches himself smiling at the mere thought and blushes though he’s alone in his car. the demonic hour turns you to an angel, quite ironically. you’re poutier than usual and throw a hissy fit at iwaizumi when he refuses to get you lugaw or mamiin the middle of the night out, not like he can resist your pleads for long anyway. you can’t keep up with the usual playful banter anymore and flirt terribly.

the thought of some other man finding you during your demonic hour flings iwaizumi out of the driver’s seat and he’s marching into the club before he knows it. it doesn’t take long for him to weave his way in and navigate your group, and the scene he finds is exactly as he imagines, but where are you?

“ten, ten, saan siya?” he shakes tendou into sobriety. he peers up at him with dazed eyes before grinning widely upon recognizing iwaizumi.

“oy, tangina mo! ano ginagawa mo dito?” the red head laughs. “‘di ko sure lumabas daw siya saglet.”

the rest of the group slowly registers iwaizumi’s presence, greeting him with clumsy high fives and fist bumps and “ba’t andito ka, kupal?”, “late na late na ba’t humabol ka pa?”, “akala namin di ka pwede ngayon?” and he returns each greeting half-heartedly as he constantly searches for your shadow in the crowd.

suna teases iwaizumi’s panicked state before pointing out you might have gone outside for a smoke. a sour feeling brews in his stomach; how could they have let you gone alone, why weren’t they sure where you went? but he saves the frustration in favor of finding you as soon as possible.

he all but runs outside through a back door near the bar which leads to a terrace overlooking the parking lot. his whole body stills as he sees your back turned to him, the heavy metal door creaks to a close, letting the loud pounding of the club music fade. he half expects to see you barely able to hold your weight with your own legs or with another guy, probably why he was so worked up in the first place, but you were alone. you seemed sober enough. it scared him even more.

as if feeling his presence, you look over your shoulder. iwaizumi debates turning on his heel and making a bee line for the exit, back to his car, and driving another hour or so to manila, but he’s frozen in his place.

you offer him a small smile, motioning for him to join you. “hayop ka anong ginagawa mo dito, ha? nag-drive ka pa, eh late na late na.”

iwaizumi is hit with the realization that in all that time he was driving alone with his thoughts, he didn’t even think of all the things he wanted to say to you. his head was simultaneously full and empty, there was just you.

“ikaw kasi kani-kanino ka nagpapa-picture. akala ko pag-papalit mo na ‘ko,” he manages to blurt out, yet you don’t miss the way his remark lacks the usual sass and playfulness.

“tama naman. ayoko na sa’yo eh,” you laugh, glancing over your shoulder to catch his scowl and an ad-libbed curse. your features soften when you notice the seriousness in his features as he stares into the nothingness ahead. you’re about to ask him if something was wrong when he sucks in a sharp breath.

“ako gusto ko sa’yo,” he says matter-of-factly, eyes meeting yours.

“what?” you laugh nervously, suddenly hyper aware of the way your heart hammers against your chest, of how you get a whiff of his usual perfume because you’re so close, the dark circles under his eyes, the distraught etched on his furrowed brows.

“i said i like you,” he repeats louder and firmer.

“i know what you said, i’m not sure i understand—”

“i like you, fuck i… i don’t know why it took me this long to say it to your face, but if i’m being honest, i was just afraid. i still am, but between being afraid of my own emotions and being afraid of fucking this up, i am actually quite fucking terrified of losing you more than anything else,” he rambles in one breath, words trembling but intense. it knocks the air out of your lungs, and you don’t know why tears start lining your eyes. “i might… even be falling in love with you fuck—”

“haji…” you whisper, body turning towards him like a magnet. he lets out a breath he didn’t know you were holding, oh how he missed you calling him that so soft and endearingly. “you have no idea how long i’ve waited for you to finally grow the balls to say that,” you chuckle, almost bitterly. “but i don’t know how to go about with this anymore.”

“let me set things right. i know we did things out of order, but i want to make us work,” he pleads, rough hands coming up to softly stroke your cheek with his knuckles.

your lips form a tight-lipped smile. he knows you’re about to ramble and finds it adorable. “i’m… i’m not so sure anymore, this is more complicated than i initially thought. w-what about the distance? haji, i’m not built for long distance i—”

iwaizumi grabs your wrist and pulls you against his chest. a strong arm wraps around your waist, his other hand holds the back of your head. you can feel both your hearts beating harshly against your chests, your cheeks heating up while you relish his embrace.

he places soft kisses onto your temple, whispering. “don’t worry that pretty little head of yours too much, there’s no rush. i’ll wait for you for as long as it takes. maghihintay ako.”

your eyes flutter open, light seeps through your vision and iwaizumi’s blurred figure slowly becomes clearer. he’s sat on an office chair, pulled right next to your bed. he watches over you with a soft smile.

“good morning, tomador.”

“tangina mong manyak, kanina mo pa ako pinapanood matulog?” you yawn, stretching your arms and limbs. did he not sleep at all? If he did, that shabby office chair couldn’t have been comfortable in the least. “akala ko ba babalik ka rin agad sa manila, akala ko umalis ka na kagabi.” you sit up, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes. the clock reads 6:07am.

iwaizumi tilts his head to the side as he eyes you, a small smile tugs at his lips while you glare at him. “cute mo pala pag bagong gising,” he remarks. “gusto ko lang siguraduhin natatandaan mo pa ‘yung kagabi.” he stands up, pushing the chair back and walks over to cup your cheeks.

“oo naman, tanga. ‘di naman ako lasing kagabi—”

“ano sinabi ko?”

you blink back, stunned. you know what he means, but suddenly can’t get the words out of your mouth.

“hm? akala ko ba natatandaan mo, anong sinabi ko sayo kagabi?” he smirks, squishing your cheeks together in his hand.

“uh… s-sabi mo ano, gusto mo ako.”

“gusto lang?”

“baka… sabi mo baka mahal mo na rin ako,” your ears burn up as the words leave your mouth, you attempt to look away but iwaizumi jerks your face to look at him smirking menacingly at your flushed state. “chaka ano pa?”

“sabi mo mag hihintay ka, ‘yan okay na! tangina mo,”you pry his hands off and attempt to close in on yourself by hiding behind the strands of hair that fall over your face.

“good girl,” he chuckles. “una na ‘ko, ha? tawagan nalang kita mamaya, tulog ka ulit maaga pa.”

you nod wordlessly, still avoiding his gaze. you watch his retreating figure, but he halts right in front of the door. he looks over his shoulder, “bye, i almost love you,” and winks.

summer didn’t last a hundred and four days, not this time. iwaizumi came to visit you a few times over the course of barely a month and a half of vacation. you managed to make it work for until then. he was even more busy tending to documents and requirements for his fourth year on top of helping his mom and grandmother, but he made time for you. he always did.

you both made adjustments to accommodate the distance. regular phone calls, curt text updates, movie marathons on discord, sometimes with your squammy group of friends. some things stayed the same, the regular cussing each other out, the snide remarks, the usual roasts. except this time, days end on an “i almost love you” note.

as you’re running late for your first day of third year, you realize barely anything has changed. and when you run out of the house, hopping on one foot as you tried to stuff the other into your shoe, you see iwaizumi parked outside of your house, leaning against his car, and twirling his keys on his finger, he manages to make your world come to a standstill once again.

“good morning, anak ng mafia boss. late na po tayo, bilisan mo na dyan.”

just like that, you’ve come full circle.

The thing that gets me is that Sunrise CLEARLY has an idea of what makes a good father (Papayasha my beloved), and yet they CHOSE to make YH Sesshomaru the worst possible father ever, on top of being a groomer!

YH Sess literally does absolutely fucking NOTHING for his daughters, and in fact deliberately puts them in dangerous situations with no regard for their safety or well-being! 99% of the time he's off doing absolutely nothing with that infuriating blank stare when he clearly has had the means and capability for 14 YEARS to help his kids out and be there for them, but he doesn't.

InuYasha physically could not reach his child through no fault of his own for 14 years, and yet the SECOND he had his daughter back, he immediately took on the role of being a supportive, encouraging, loving, and affectionate father. He didn't come up with half-assed excuses for being gone like that whole "Rite of Courage" nonsense, he didn't act like his daughter needed to prove anything to him, and he let his child know right off the bat that she was loved, thought about, and deeply missed.

You almost wouldn't think Sesshomaru was Sunrise and Sumisawa's "favorite character" like he supposedly is with how they make him such a fucking deadbeat dad.

And yet InuYasha, who Sumisawa apparently doesn't like, is literally the best father in this dumpster fire and beats Sesshomaru a thousand times over in that regard.

Makes my almost wonder if they had to get different writers, some who are ACTUALLY PARENTS, to write out InuYasha's interactions w/ Moroha for whatever reason. Maybe Sumisawa couldn't be bothered with InuYasha and his family since he's only concerned with his wonderbread twins and [REDACTED].

literally I was thinking along the same line, too!! Even though the credited writers, directors, and storyboard artists for each episodes where Inuyasha appears are different (you can check it out on wikipedia), but most of it have sumisawa as the writer. That's why it's so confusing because why did you make your supposedly most favorite character to have one of the worst characterization ever?

I know that it probably has something to do with his wanting to build the notion that full-demons act, think, and behave differently than half-demons because they don't have the kindness half-demons inherit from their human parents, and that's why they (full- demons) couldn't act so lovingly and tenderly to their own children. BUT he also directed the 4th movie of Inuyasha where it is shown that all full-demon parents are being so caring towards their children??? And he also worked on the 3rd movie which portrayed toga fighting off takemaru bcs he wanted to kill izayoi and inuyasha. It clearly shows that even sesshomaru's own father, the Great Dog General, strongest daiyokai, didn't leave his baby and spouse and will fight any enemies that got on his way. Why did he contradict his own works then??? 😭😭 Turns out selective memory isn't only possessed by raisins but also by their beloved script writer 🤣

That rite of courage or cowardice? total bullshit. That's some top level lazy as fuck writing. You want to tell me that he wants to trained his children how to be a skilled warrior with high level of survival by letting them to their own devices? With no helping hands?? That's no training, that's how a mf leave his child because he doesn't want them, he didn't plan on having one but his one night stand accidentally got pregnant! That's how it sounds like! maybe all that time he's staring at nothingness for 14 years is him longing for his freedom before he accidentally impregnated rin 👀

I'm sorry sir, Sumisawa, but your whatever plan on the plot of Hanyo no Yashahime? It doesn't work. Might as well do more research how to create a good characterization and a coherent storyline as well as analysis on your target market before you prematurely released an anime.
