Wage War

Synopsis: You were overprotective of Naruto. Overprotective to the point where Kakashi had to remind you that waging war on another five-year-old was not the answer.

A/n: I have a nephew. I have almost waged war on a two-year-old before for taking his toy and shoving him. I was cackling about this thought today at work. This is also based on Cameron in a scene from Modern Family 0:54 seconds is the part -> https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2360776/ You don't need to watch, but iykyk. I couldn't wait to write it.

Kakashi’s eyes flicked to your face as a gasp fell from your lips. Your eyes were wide in shock before they quickly morphed into pure rage. “Hey, what-” Kakashi’s question fell on deaf ears as you stormed towards the playground. Naruto was wiping his eyes, trying to get rid of the sand that landed there. The other boy was laughing down at him but stopped once he saw you storming toward him. His face dropped, and he stumbled back. His mom warned him about you and told him not to mess with Naruto, for you were scarier than any punishment he would receive. He ignored her, of course.

He wished he had listened.

“Why you-”

“Hey, whoa, whoa!! You cannot wage war on a five-year-old!” Kakashi hissed as he grabbed you by the collar, yanking you back in the hopes of stopping your stampede. Your e/c eyes were blazing with fury, and while you were no longer speeding towards him, the little boy still felt afraid of what you would do. “If you ever put your hands on my son again, I will string you up by your feet, run you up the flag pole and let the birds… peck out your eyes….” 

“Do you understand me?” 

The young child gulped thickly at your threat, knowing it wasn't empty and was indeed genuine. “Y/n,” Kakashi hissed as Iruka came into view, eyes wide and frantic as he took in the scene before him. “Everything okay?” Iruka asked as he looked between you and the young child. He knew about your temper, knew about how overprotective you were. But he also knew how mean these kids were to Naruto, and none of his scoldings seemed to get through to them.

But somehow, someway, you managed to shut up the meanest of the bunch with a sentence and a look alone.

“This little shit-”

“Language, Y/n,” Kakashi reminded as he shot a covered smile towards Iruka, silently praying that he would take his apologies as your own. You weren't in the right headspace; you never were when it came to Naruto. 

“This young child,” you corrected yourself, yet still let the venom float through your words as you looked down at the child in disgust, “Kicked sand in Naruto’s face. I was simply telling him that if he messes with him again, he’ll have to deal with me….”

Iruka’s brown eyes were wide in shock as he looked at Kakashi for reassurance that what you were saying wasn’t as harsh as what you had said before he arrived, but the look Kakashi gave him told him you had said much worse and you were simply dumbing it down for the young teacher. “Okay… Well, um. We don't threaten our children, Y/n-”

Your e/c eyes shot to his, shutting him up as you challenged him to continue. 

“He wouldn't need to have been threatened if you would have been doing your job-”

“Y/n. that's enough,” Kakashi stated firmly as he ripped you back to his side, having quite enough of your hostile attitude now directed towards parties not involved. Iruka pursed his lips at your words; this wasn't the first time you’d said something incredibly hurtful. Therefore, he knew you didn't mean it. You were just angry with the world for the cards you were dealt. “I’ll have to report this incident to the headmaster-”

“Go ahead,” you snarled out as you grabbed Naruto. He whined as you hauled him onto your hip, eyes still tearing from the sand stuck there. “I’ll meet with him at four today. In the meantime, I’m going to take Naruto to the doctor to make sure this little asshole didn't mess his eyes up with the sand he so graciously kicked in his face” Your steely gaze flicked to the young boy, who flinched behind Iruka. You stormed off with Naruto closely pressed to your body, angrily promising Naruto that you would hurt anyone that hurt him. 

Kakashi sighed and sent another apologetic look at the younger teacher. “Sorry for her…. I’m sure you understand her anger?”

Iruka nodded before sending off the child to go play, “I do, but she needs to keep her anger in check-”

“She wouldn't hurt a child, Iruka. You know her just like I know her.”

Iruka looked at Kakashi blankly. His interactions with you were not always pleasant, but he couldn't deny that he knew your threats were empty even though your anger was not. He opened his mouth to add another warning, but Kakashi’s hand flew up, “I’ll make sure it doesn't happen again. Thanks,” Kakashi stated briefly before moving to catch up with you. Five years ago, when you took Naruto in, he didn't know that you’d have this level of love for the blonde. While it was a hassle sometimes, it was admirable. The unlovable child was loved, and everyone in this world needed someone to go to war for them.

Even if the war was against another five-year-old.

When Iruka protected Naruto he asked him,なんで... "why?". Naruto didn't expect Iruka to protect him.

Even after Iruka risked his life for Naruto and given the reason to him for his 'why' but anyway Naruto ran away from him. Even though they were Sensei and student and were brought to eat 'Ichiraku Raman', there was no bond between them. Why?? Because he knows (doubt?) that Iruka never acknowledged him. In that moment too... he thought that even after Iruka protected him, Iruka still didn't acknowledge him.

But when did his attitude towards Iruka change?? Only after he acknowledged Naruto as Naruto, as his student, as a member of the Leaf. And declared he is not a monster.

Finally someone accepted him. That's why Naruto came to fight to protect Iruka, thus threatening Mizuki with "stay away from Iruka Sensei or I'll kill you". He's using 殺すぞ! "Korosu-zo!" I'll kill you!

But, when it comes to Sasuke, he constantly asking him 「なんで...」 "why" after Sasuke protecting him from Haku's attack. He couldn't accept what he saw in front of him. That's not why he was trained so hard from the beginning... that's not why he was decided to be his rival. He couldn't believe his eyes what was happening. Waking up from his stupor, seeing Sasuke makes him happy, but seeing a bloody Sasuke was a nightmare for him. He didn't want this to happen. He didn't want Sasuke helping/protecting him by hurting himself. Besides, he didn't know why Sasuke would sacrifice himself for him. Why would he do this for him? Why?

よけーな means "not necessarily" or "unnecessary". Meaning of 世話 is care or looking after. お世話 means take care of someone or something. So よけーなお世話だ means, "none of your business". Naruto asking him: "Why did you protect me? what for...? Why?... You should have just minded your own business...You don't have to look after me....Why did you do this.... You should have protected yourself instead of helping me!!!"

After all this, Sasuke smiles to himself and says he hates him (after all those flashbacks flooding his mind with 'Naruto'). Does he really hate him? Who are you trying to fool, Sasuke? In his last moment (not knowing he was not going to die), he told Naruto 'not to die'. Then we see a lifeless Naruto... leaning over Sasuke and touching his face. His face keep coming closer to him. I've talked about this before about how often it's used in romantic tropes....when their partners die in their arms they kiss their foreheads or touch their foreheads together. Each time he gets closer to him the panel keeps zooming out. By keeping readers away from them… so as not to interrupt them.

He tells himself, 「殺してやる」 (Koroshite yaru!!!) means "I'm going to kill you!!!" He was extremely angry. So you know just from those words that the pain is very intense. It's not as same as he threatened Mizuki but in here he was intent to kill Haku. 'I'm going to' implies that [killing] will happen soon.

Remember what Orochimaru said, "WHEN YOUR EMOTIONS ARE HEIGHTENED...THE POWER OF THE NINE-TAILS OVERFLOWS..."

thinking about if konoha ninja who became anbu frequently 'died' so they wouldn't be on any registry and so other villages would get word that notable shinobi have 'died'. they don't do it often, that would be suspicious, but they do it to kakashi. minato assigns him to anbu and apologizes blandly when he tells him his death is going to be faked. kakashi, broken traumatized and depressed, thinks nothing of it.

kakashi 'dies' on a mission months after the death of rin, after obito watched, after he lost pretty much everything and any sense of self he had. his body isn't recovered and the circumstances of his death are unclear.

if im being entirely cruel, this means that no one in the village (guy, asuma, iruka, etc.) would know that kakashi is still alive. they all think he's dead and they grieve him and kakashi... disappears. he doesn't know himself anymore and he can't, because he's dead and he's in the anbu now and that's all that matters. his life for konoha in life and death, always.

obito, being the stalker he is, looks for kakashi. he missed him entering the anbu, he missed the faked funeral, he missed a lot. he tries to find him in his shoebox apartment, stakes out minato's home, sits at the memorial stone and rin's grave. but kakashi never shows up and obito decides he'll check the active missions in konoha, just to know where kakashi is (definitely not to follow him and watch him, that'd be weird, duh). so after sneaking into the hokage's office with kamui, he rifles through the piles of s-rank and a-rank missions, but kakashi's name is nowhere to be found. confused and almost insulted on kakashi's behalf, he checks the b-ranks and below, but no dice.

now obito is getting...nervous might not be the word but he's definitely feel angry at this point. if kakashi isn't home, on a mission, grieiving, or with minato then where is he. obito stalks guy next, finds him sitting on a rock by a stream, glum. he's pale, his eyes are watery, he looks exhausted and obito is definitely nervous at this point. he'd never admit it but for something to get guy of all people down... obito fears for the worst.

through much stalking and espionage, obito finds out where kakashi is.

he's dead.

that can't be right.

he would've heard if kakashi was dead, right? zetsu would've told him. he would've known. kakashi has one of his eyes, he definitely would've known. and obito, pissed, scared, and indignant, opens up the connection between him and kakashi, searching for kakashi's vision, for what he can see. he hasn't done it since that night when rin...

he didn't want kakashi to know it existed, never even wanted to take that chance. but he doesn't care anymore. kakashi isn't dead. it's just not possible.

obito was right. kakashi isn't dead.

but he might as well be.

kakashi has no way out of the anbu now, no way that wouldn't give away konoha's secrets. guy can't help him because guy thinks he's dead, minato can't help him, he killed him in the first place. kakashi will forever live, breathe, and die for konoha. it makes obito's blood boil, he feels reminiscent of the night rin died.

he hates kakashi. he wants to hate kakashi. he can't hate kakashi. he can hate the world, he can despise konoha, he can want to kill minato. but kakashi...

he's never been able to hate him. no matter how hard he tried, how easy kakashi made it for him. when it came to kakashi, his balance between love and hate was never more skewed.

there's a particularly awful mission, kakashi is the only one to return to the village and he's...he's not good. obito watches him laugh hysterically as he washes his hands of blood that isn't there. he's never seen kakashi so broken and it hurts more than he ever thought it would.

obito gets kakashi out of the anbu. kakashi hates him for it, fights him, thrashes against him and his will and ideologies. kakashi doesn't know him, obito was too ahamed to reveal himself. it doesn't matter though, kakashi wants to die. he was happy in the anbu, he says. it'd be a quicker death, a noble death.

you've already died, obito shouts at him, enraged and torn apart. how can't he see it? how can he be so naive and blind to it all?

kakashi doesn't answer, doesn't know what words to say to make this stranger believe he isn't worth the trouble. obito has no choice.

with a shaking hand, he removes his mask. kakashi watches, eyes wide and wet and obito throws the mask to the side to hold out his hand. you've already died, but you can be reborn.

kakashi, broken tattered and thoroughly sure he's lost it, takes obito's hand. yes, kakashi thinks, he's died. but if this is the afterlife, than maybe things won't be so bad...

Loser!boyfriend Headcanons

this is the sweetest man ever you are not allowed to disagree

he kinda floats from one friend group to the other, but when he started to notice he wasn't really "part" of any of the friend groups he was in, he just stepped away from them all.

the two of you met when Professor Iruka asked you to tutor the blonde and the rest was history. people were always whispering about you hanging around "the uzumaki loser" but you paid them no mind. soon your tutoring sessions went from studying the material to studying how to make naruto uzumaki a puddle in your hands.

you're way more popular than him, so everyone was mad confused when you walked onto campus holding hands with him one day. and when people asked what the hell you were doing holding hands "with the uzumaki guy" you'd tell em' all the same thing.

"i'm holding hands with him cause he's my boyfriend." (naruto's a blushing mess every time you told people)

he follows you around like a lost puppy, sky blue eyes always glancing about. (he's anxious and you're the only thing that soothes it).

he doesn't have a lot of money, but he makes up for it by being crazy attentive to your needs and wants. you're stressed from classes? he's cuddling with you and putting on your favorite movie. you're angry about something and need to vent? he's all ears. also knows where the good cheap eats are around town and saves up money every now and again to treat you to dinner.

gets distracted a lot, especially when you're talking to him. he can't help it, you're just so pretty.

he was insanely nervous meeting your friends for the first time & you assured him that Sakura, Ino, Gaara and Sai were really nice people. when you all got together, they all took notice at how quiet he was and Sakura was the first person to ask him questions about himself.

by the end of the night, your nervous wreck of a boyfriend was laughing and high fiving Gaara and Sai after beating the three of you in a very heated game of Pictionary.

he starts to come out of his shell, showing off the high energy and positive personality you fell in love with. (so much so that other girls start to take notice at how cute "that loser Uzumaki" is).

poor boy doesn't even realize he's being hit on half the time until he tells you about how the nice Hinata girl from his history class asked him what his favorite food was and was recommending that the two of them go out sometime, and you had to politely explain to him that she was asking him out on a date.

takes him a sec to get it, but once he does he's turning down any and every advance from any girl that isn't you. "Ah sorry! I'm gonna be late for a study session with my girlfriend so I can't go out with you!"

Kiba didn't exactly float between friend groups like Naruto. he was just kinda of there; people knew of him but that was about it. he mostly kept to himself and, in turn, made himself kind of a loner.

the two of you met at a nearby KBBQ restaurant. your friends had flaked on getting lunch with you and you noticed Kiba sitting outside of the restaurant.

"Kiba right?" poor boy couldn't fathom that you were talking to him. "this might be really awkward and you're ok to say no...but would you wanna get lunch with me? my friends completely flaked and-"

"yes." the two of you spend hours getting to know eachother and when its time to pay the bill, you grab it before he has a chance.

"I would've paid.." he says with a pout that you find utterly adorable.

"I know, but this is on me. You can pay for our next date." (homeboy ends up looking like this😳😳😳)

another date turns into 2, then three, then soon you've got him seeing heaven everytime you stay over in his dorm.

absolutely loses his mind when you call him your boyfriend for the first time. the two of you are out shopping and you see a jacket that would look nice on him. he tries it on and you hug him from behind and say, "Man I'm so glad to have such a handsome boyfriend.."

his brain stops working and he freezes for a few seconds because holy shit he wants to kiss you so hard in this fucking department store. once y'all leave and get to his dorm, he's practically begging to hear you say it again.

"Say it again..please. Call me your boyfriend again." cue makeout session

Kiba absolutely loves cuddling with you. if he's playing a game, he's leaning back against you while you play with his hair. If you're watching TV, he's got his arms wrapped around your waist and his chin on your shoulder. even when you sleep over he wraps himself around your body and loves waking up early to pepper your face in kisses.

when you guys go out, he's always touching you; arm around your waist or holding hands. he loves being the one to hold you and it boosts his ego to see guys glaring at him in jealousy.

lets you pick your favorite hoodies of his because they look so much better on you than him. also will buy some small trinket or little stuffed animal to gift you just because it reminded him of you.

is the first one to say "I love you". he was running late for his class and as he checked his pockets and grabbed his bag, he gave you a quick kiss on your lips before muttering, "love you babe." and rushing out of the door. literally doesn't realize he said it until he's in class and blushes bright red.

he checks his phone after class and sees a text from you that has his heart skipping a beat.

quiet, mysterious and a huge loner is what people say when you ask about the black haired ponytail man that sits right beside you in your History class.

he's an interesting one; barely takes notes in class and you've caught him sleeping a few times as well. and yet, every test and report that comes back to him shows a bright red A in Professor Asuma's handwriting.

you didn't get the chance to actually speak to him until you were paired up in Professor Kuranai's photography class. you could hear a few of the guys in your class mutter and groan about not getting you as a partner, and to be fair Shikamaru didn't exactly look excited to be paired with you.

the two of you were tasked with photographing nature and, to your surprise, shikamaru knew a lot of hidden gem spots; going to the local park and taking shots of blue jays in the trees, a secret river in a nearby forest. the two of you even went so far as to take a train out to the countryside the day after it rained to get shots of the giant rain clouds.

plus, you two got to know each other really well. soon he wasn't the quiet loner that slept in your History class, but your intriguing and handsome Nara Shikamaru; the same Shikamaru who let you steal bites of his food and the same Shikamaru who gave you his jacket even though he was also cold.

calls you all sorts of pet names as soon as y'all start dating. but as soon as you hit em with a "hey babe, what answer did you get for question 4?" he's blushing and gripping his notes tight. (you really wanna make him flustered, call him sweetheart or my love)

will give any excuse to stay in bed with you. wanna go out for food? he's already ordering it for delivery. wanna go out a see a movie? he's loading up Netflix as you speak. you need to go shopping for new clothes?....well maybe he should go with you just to see how it looks.

pairs up with you for any and all projects. he'll never admit it, but the idea of anyone else (guy or girl) working with you makes him jealous. your his and that's that. he even gets you both matching rings because of it. "just...want everyone to know you're taken.."

moral development in Naruto

Naruto's class, including Shikamaru, didn't like Naruto as a kid. They didn't treat him well. They weren't kind. But it's also not hard to understand why. Naruto was ego driven, attention seeking, and mean. He was antagonistic towards others. And the others were antagonistic towards him, and it had become a vicious unending cycle.

But again, it's also not hard to understand why. Naruto came into class having only known rejection. Of course he was antagonistic. The other kids had no idea of ability to understand or handle Naruto. He was just seen as annoying. Of course he was a social pariah. And someone like Shikamaru, who was very sheltered and safe, couldn't understand him. He and the other kids disliked him for pretty understandable reasons. Naruto was developmentally behind. To show what I mean, here's Piaget's theory of moral reasoning:

What you'll see is that Chapter 1 of Naruto is actually the start of Naruto begining to move out of stage 1 into stage 2. He's moving from breaking rules as much as possible for attention (his self interest) to starting to recognize and respect others' needs. He has gotten a taste of acceptance and now he is motivated to continue so that he'll be praised for doing good now that he has experienced being rewarded socially for it. His needs still come first, but he's starting to see others have needs too. Like how he recognized Iruka's need and came to his rescue. But he's still not fully there. Meanwhile Shikamaru and Sakura and the rest of the class are between stage 3 and stage 4. To them Naruto is bad because he doesn't follow the rules and disrupts interpersonal harmony. He doesn't fit in. He acts out because he's bad. Therefore, he's rejected. Shikamaru and Sakura and the rest aren't bad people. They're kids processing things the best they know how. Developmentally they're right on track. Sakura especially had valid reasons to dislike Naruto. He does indeed harass her and act clingy and try to dominate her time and attention whenever she's trying to do anything. And he does get in the way of the relationship she wants to build with Sasuke by constantly butting in. Many girls have experienced guys like this and and can relate to Sakura's situation. The truth is that Naruto isn't mature enough for a relationship. Naruto is too attention needy and immature. Yes, he has started to realize others have needs, but he's still mostly oblivious.

And then there's Sasuke. In chapter 3 alone Sasuke shows that he: doesn't see Naruto as bad because he acts bad, he doesn't care what the group consensus is, and his opinion isn't even swayed by Naruto's own antagonistic actions towards himself. Sasuke defends Naruto. And this is very surprising. To recap: It's not surprising that the other kids treated Naruto as they did; it's not surprising Naruto acted out. But it is surprising (shocking in fact) how quickly Sasuke starts getting angry on behalf of Naruto and defends Naruto.... right after being attacked. And for being this arrogant, evil rival Naruto has made him out to be, he doesn't retaliate. What is clear is that Sasuke has already developed to a higher sense of morality that guides him. As I've said before, Sasuke was forced to grow up faster than his peers. He's transcended the belief in just following the rules of society. Society didn't help him that night he lost everything. And we see in Sasuke a disregard for rules and social systems. Yes, he still mostly follows the rules and does what he needs to get along. He doesn't completely loose his sense of morality and reject everything like Gaara. But his reasons are different from the other kids.

And we know this because of how Sasuke strategically breaks the rules. Sasuke didn't break rules just to break rules, but when he does he's adhering to a higher moral principle. There's no better example than the bell test. All of kakashi's previous genin teams flunked the bell test, which you'd expect as the kids were probably all in stages 3 and 4. To them, as to most kids, not breaking the rules given by an authority is more important than making sure some kid gets lunch. In fact, Naruto was trying to steal his lunch before Kakashi tied him up. In a sense he 'deserved' getting tied up and losing his lunch because he tried to break the rules. Of course kids are going to follow the rules after that. Kakashi's test is designed to test their moral reasoning. And no normal kid would be able to pass.... Except that Sasuke isn't a typical 12 year old. Sasuke is in stage 5 moving towards 6. For Sasuke, letting Naruto go hungry while he and Sakura eat just feels wrong. Unjust. And he's willing to defy authority and break the rules to fix that. Even though he risks losing something very important to him: his ninja status. And he also pulls both Sakura and Naruto to doing so as well. By challenging Sakura's beliefs and assumptions about Naruto Sakura stops to think more critically and stop just going with the crowd. And Naruto starts to understand many things because of Sasuke, but perhaps one of the biggest was the meaning of self-sacrifice. In a sense what sasuke did during the bell test was a foreshadowing of the Haku fight when Sasuke was forced to choose between his conscience and his life, and didn't hesitate. "S-sorry," he managed to say towards his feet, his throat tight. It felt like he was going to start crying any moment now and"I didn't… I-I wasn't looking wh-where—"

"Iruka?" 

That voice was unmistakable. It was just his rotten luck that he would bump into Kakashi now of all times.

"Iruka, are you alright?" Kakashi prompted as he pulled Iruka more firmly against his chest, one of his hands settling on Iruka's back while he moved the other to gently tilt his face up. "Hey, sensei, talk to me. What—" 

The alpha paused abruptly the moment he could see Iruka's face. Iruka could almost feel that keen dark eye watching him as Kakashi took stock of the bruises, the blood, the tears that finally started to fall. Whether he said anything or not, it wasn't going to take a genius to figure out what had happened to him and Kakashi was far from stupid.

"Who did this to you?" Kakashi asked a moment later as if to prove Iruka right. His voice was measured, but it was also very obvious he was doing his best to hold in a growl as his anger could be easily felt through both his scent and chakra. "Iruka, who did this?"

"I— M-Mizuki and I… we just… it was—" 

He couldn't for the life of him find the right words to explain the situation. It was one thing to know Mizuki had attacked him in a fit of jealousy and another to admit to it outloud. Somehow it felt as if saying it would make it more… real.

"Did you argue? And he struck you?" Kakashi asked, apparently able to read between the lines despite Iruka not saying much at all.

"Y-yes." The admission felt heavy – heavier than expected – but it also somehow made it easier for him to speak. "He got angry and… I had to leave. I c-couldn't stay there. I j-just—"

He inhaled sharply when Kakashi's thumb brushed against his cheekbone, wiping away some of the tears.

"It's alright, you don't have to explain," Kakashi told him. His voice was impossibly soft, though there was still a certain edge to it. "Should I take you somewhere safe? Do you have a friend you could stay with? Anyone you can trust?"

Something inside Iruka seized painfully when he realised he couldn't point out even one person.

All of his friends were Mizuki's friends too. They grew up and attended the Academy together. Most of them were peers too, either from the same graduation class or team, often both. Asking them for help would mean not only explaining the situation once again, but also forcing them to pick a side – to pick one friend over the other. On top of that Iruka couldn't help but worry he would be the one blamed for how things turned out. 

That fear alone was more than enough to make him shake his head and say, "No. There's no one like that."

Sasuke Uchiha : All the people around you were engrossed in a dumb ass show - according to him. Once again he sighs discreetly at the jokes he certainly doesn't find funny. He only came because Naruto told him he wanted all his friends to be there for the evening. But then a voice was heard above all the laughters “What the fuck ?!? This is not funny” you said. Everyone looked at you amused before starting to laugh again. Except Sasuke, he looked at you intently. You had to be Y/n, an ally Naruto had met on a mission, he thought. As you got up to take a breath outside. He cautiously made his way outside the house as well. You seemed very raw and unadorned, and it piqued his curiosity. Perhaps he could get to know you in more detail ?

Kakashi Hatake : He smiles widely under his mask, the only thing giving him away were the crinkles around his eyes showing how genuine his smile was. He found it really unusual and unexpected to see you burst like this. After all, you were a great and skilled kunoichi, who had a lot of requirements and was very professional. But it felt really good to see that after all like everyone you have your little moments of overflow. He knew no one was around so he gave your ass a gentle yet noticeable slap “Y/n keep it down. You have a reputation to uphold” he chuckled at the bashful expression on your face.

Itachi Uchiha : He's not even taken aback. He smiles lovingly at you. He loves to see you go out of your way. It gives you a wild, unpredictable side that he loves "My fierce lioness" For him, it's so endearing he can't help but rub your cheek with love, his dark eyes getting lost in your gaze, making you blush and calm down. Every action you take and word you say reminds him of what a good choice he made in asking you to marry him ( maybe a future hc 👀 )

Naruto Uzumaki : He doesn’t care if you’re angry or just messing around. He’s going to pick you and tickle you. At some point you move so much that he slips. You both end up sprawled on the floor. Everyone in the street are looking at you and it’s fueling you again “This is not fucking fucking. Mind your own business !” Meanwhile Naruto is just laughing his ass off as if it was the funniest thing ever.

Iruka Umino : His eyes widen and his mouth hangs agape. But don’t misunderstand him, he is really happy that for once someone takes up his defense when his pupils are making fun of him. Though then he looks at you with a smile as he whispers with his mouth half hiding his mouth “Y/n please they are already impossible to manage. Don't teach them swear words" You gave him a sheepish smile and kissed his cheek before saying goodbye. Leaving him flustered in front of a shocked crowd of kids whispering how pretty their teacher’s S/o is.

Utakata : He doesn’t even care what you’re talking about - as long as you’re safe. He’s going to gently slap the back of your head or pinch your shoulder and remind you of your language "Y/n being my apprentice you must keep a certain self control and keep these kinds of words out of your language" You huffed as his basic and prepared answer, reminding him that you also were his partner. He flushed and turned his head the other way so that you don’t see the effect your teasing has on him. He mumbled “Yeah… that too” He wrapped your arm around your shoulder and pulled you closer. You both trained well now it was time to go home and rest.

Rock Lee : He panics !! He wants to know why you said that, to whom you said that. Not funny ? Don’t worry he is going to give you his best to make you laugh ( almost wrote cum” here. Sasori : Seriously bro is unfazed lmao. If he looks up from the puppet he is crafting then you’re a lucky one. But ultimately he is going to make sure there is nothing wrong happening because believe it or not he cares about you. And whoever displeases you will regret it.

Gaara : He freezes slightly. His head turns  s l o w l y  towards you wondering what might have triggered this response. It better be not someone’s fault or else they will have to deal with the Kazekage himself. But then as he focuses on what you’re doing, he sees you rage quitting on your game console. And before he can even say a word he sees you throwing it out the window “My Love careful. It's the 6th this month” He motions to you to come towards him and pats your head gently reminding you that next time it happens that you should just set it before you get angry.

Hashirama Senju : He is a bit shocked but finds your reaction funny as well. And a bit ashamed because he was actually enjoying the jokes of the show. But he had to know better after all. You’re such a lively and sunny person that he almost forgets how much you’re like his brother when it gets to the field of humor. That’s maybe why you've always gotten along well. He nudges you playfully to make you loosen up “Hey you’re married to the Hokage now stop acting like-” but all he gets is a dark glare and a kiss on the cheek, which makes him go dark red.

Tobirama Senju : He can’t help the corner of his lips from twitching upwards. It makes him feel better at ease knowing he is not alone not finding it funny. And knowing that you above everyone thinks the same as him warms his heart. He wants to scoop you in his arms and set you on his lap as he smells the scent of your hair. But for that he’ll have to wait for you guys to come back home. He just hopes his brother isn’t going to invite himself like he always does when Hashirama wants to have a quiet and loving evening with you “No one’s home, come back and try tomorrow !”

Deidara : We know him. He is such a drama queen. He is for sure going to follow you and start screaming insults without even knowing what got you starting in the first place. But it’s fueling your anger. And so you both end up filing the hideout with your screams. Sasori or someone else comes to y’all and tries to scare you for you to shut the fuck up “Nooooo but you don’t understand it’s fucking annoyin-” “SHUT UP BOTH OF YOU !”

Shikamaru Nara : He smirks. His eyes flashes a mischievous glance at you. Despite his laid back stature with his hands buried in his pockets, we can clearly see in his eyes a fire burn. He startles you when suddenly his arm wraps around your waist, bringing you closer to him, until your hip rests flush against his. He isn’t giving anything away to anyone that might have seen him getting closer to you. He nods mindlessly at what others are saying. It’s son going to be this time of the day when he needs you as much as he needs air. I have to say I don't agree with the idea that Naruto is guided by hate. Like… he has bitterness and anger inside him, sure, but he also always looked for connection with others despite it. He made Sasuke his rival solely because he wanted to get closer to him. Naruto's need to connect to others even if he made himself look like a fool in the process was what Sasuke found endearing, it made him feel at peace. And Naruto was valued and cared for by Sasuke and Iruka, which further motivated him. He is also very emphatic and tries to understand others. He told even someone like Zabuza to his face that Haku loved him. He was angry but his anger at Zabuza came from a place of love. He is guided by love. And his love for Sasuke is also his main motivator. And he's the one who gives Sasuke hope. This is what Kishi wanted to say in his writing.

"Uh oh… Asuma, what did you do this time?"

Asuma raised his eyes to Genma, who was looking at something behind him. Asuma didn't need to look, didn't even need to try and guess who it was. He knew.

"Asuma!" Your angry screech hit the ears of the men outside of the bar. Some chuckled at your cute fiery temper, while the others shied away from you as you stormed past. Asuma turned and threw a smirk your way before pulling the cigarette from his mouth, "What's up, little sis-"

Your fingers grabbed his cigarette, slamming it on the ground as you put it out with your boot. "Don't even play coy with me; you have my book. GIVE IT BACK," Asuma feigned being wounded with his hand over his heart, "Why would you accuse me of such things?"

The men around him laughed, warming your cheeks from anger and embarrassment. "Because you always do. Now give me back my book" Asuma ignored you as he searched his pockets for another cigarette. The more he searched around, the louder the laughter grew around you. Genma was the only one not laughing, and he started to pity you.

Your brows furrowed in pain, chest aching as your brother once again took it too far. He found a cigarette and raised it to his lips. The men continued to laugh, and you glared at your brother as he ignited his lighter.

"Fine," you whimpered as you fought back the tears. "I didn't need it anyway" Asuma stopped at the sound of your wobbling words, eyes flicking up to you before he extinguished the lighter. He opened his mouth to apologize, but Genma beat him to the punch, "Here, Y/n. Is this what you need?"

Your eyes lit up at the sight of the textbook in Genma’s hand, causing him to smirk at how adorable you were. "Yes! Gen, thank you!" He nodded before taking the book to you. Asuma eyed his friend, not liking what he was seeing. You were an adult, sure, but you would always be his baby sister.

"Genma. Don't even think about it."

Your eyebrows furrowed as you grabbed the book from Genma's fingers, "He's not doing anything, Asu. Leave him alone-"

"Oh really? So him sneaking out of your room last night was also him 'not doing anything'"

Genma scoffed at Asuma's accusation. He wasn't there for any other reason than to help you study for your exams. "I have a test Asuma. He was helping me-"

"Helping. Right"

The men chuckled lightly at that but stopped at Genma’s glare. He hated when your brother did this to you. He's always been this way, ever since you were little, and the teasing only got worse as you grew. But you were becoming a lot more confident in who you were, and while you did get teary over little things, big things like this pissed you off.

"You're a dick. Honestly, why can't you just leave me alone!?"

Everyone but Genma and Asuma started to back away from you. While you weren't a Ninja, you still had a robust amount of Chakra running through your body, thanks to your father. "You don't scare me-"

"No, but Dad might"

A jolt of fear flashed through him as you turned swiftly and bolted towards the Hokage's office. Asuma was hot on your heels, spewing out empty threats that grew in severity the closer you got to the tower.

The shinobi tasked with guarding the Hokage moved away from you swiftly, eyes wide as Asuma trailed after you. This was usual, of course. It wasn't a typical Tuesday if Asuma hadn't pissed you off to the point where you would go to your father in rage.

The door to the office slammed open, "Dad. He's doing it AGAIN."

"She's lying! I'm innocent-"

You both halted at the many eyes now glued to your angry forms. There were at least five ANBU officers, two genin teams, and three teachers present. "Shit, the exams," you hissed quietly to Asuma, eyes widening in fear of the scolding you two would surely get from your father.

"Can't this wait?"

You shot a sheepish smile to your father before your eyes wandered to a specific teacher in the corner. Iruka nodded at you, and your dad once more cleared his throat, urging you to answer him swiftly so he could return to work.

"Ya… Dad, it's fine. We're fine. Right, buddy!!" You exclaimed as you threw an arm over Asuma's shoulders. He huffed but played it off as he pinched your cheek. "Yep! We are great."

"Good. Then please leave-"

The two of you were out of there before he could finish the sentence. Iruka chuckled in the corner, causing others to eye him curiously. They had never seen this type of behavior before.

But he sure as hell did.

The frogs began to croak along the tree lines by the time you had finished your weekly reading. Just two more weeks and you'd be a teacher for the Konoha Preschool. It took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, but it would be worth it. You moved to lie down on your back, hoping to get a second of relaxation before heading home. Closing your eyes, you took in the sounds surrounding you. The village was always so peaceful right before sunset

"How many more weeks?"

Your eyes shot open from fright before relaxing at the sight of him standing above you. Your lips curled up at him before you patted the blanket below you, signaling him to join you. "Two more, and I'll be a teacher! I'm so excited, Iruka. I can hardly wait" he chuckled at that before moving to lay beside you. The sun was setting, and you smiled dreamily at the pinkish-orange sky above. Iruka turned his head to look at you. Feeling his eyes on you made you turn your head to look back, "Do I have something on my face?"

Your teasing tone made him burn with embarrassment, but he didn't look away. He couldn't look away. "No. I just like looking at you."

It was your turn to heat up. His gaze was steely and serious, making your heart skip a beat. You chuckled playfully at that, trying your best to fight off the bashfulness, but your laughter died down as he turned onto his side. Iruka brought his hand to your face, fingers delicately caressing your burning cheek. "Don't you have a girlfriend?"

Your question made him smile, and you didn't know why. The last time you talked to him, he was dating some other shinobi, but things have clearly changed. "Not anymore." You nodded and let him continue caressing your skin; Iruka, to you, was a weak point in your armor. You've dated before, on and off for years, but it stopped when you entered adulthood. You started seeing Genma to distract yourself from the painful image of seeing Iruka with his girlfriend. You and Genma were never serious. It was all just fun.

But it was different with Iruka.

You glanced at his lips, breath growing heavy as the urge to kiss him blossomed. God's you missed him. His touch, his voice, his scent, his lips. Everything. "You and Genma-"

"Not serious," you whispered before scooting closer to him. You just wanted a taste. Iruka smirked at your answer before scooting closer as well. You closed your eyes, leaning in to try and capture his lips with yours. But he stopped you.

You looked at him in pure shock. Did you read this wrong?

"Do you remember the first time we met?"

Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion before relaxing as you replayed the memory in your head. "When you told me to go tell my father to fuck off-"

"Those weren't my exact words-"

Your giggle cut him off; honestly, your first encounter with each other was quite the story. But it changed your life. "I don't think I've ever told you I fell in love with you that day." His words were light and airy, as if saying them too loudly would get him in trouble. Your smile reached your eyes as you brought your hand up to trace the scar across his nose. Iruka's eyes drooped at the calming feeling. If you didn’t stop, he would surely fall asleep.

"I loved you before then, actually" Your whisper made his eyes open in disbelief. Before that first meeting? How was that possible? He scooted closer to you till your noses touched, urging you to continue. Your fingers trailed up his face and plunged into his hair, nails scratching at his scalp, causing a sigh to fall from his lips. "I fell for you the second I saw you when we were about 6. I don't think you remember, but you were the first person who said hi to me at the academy. I was afraid, and that little hello made me feel better."

Iruka looked at you blankly as he racked his brain for the memory. "Oh!" His bright smile lit up your heart as he remembered saying hello to a shy girl in the back of the room. "I remember now. It seemed like you didn't want to be there. So I figured welcoming you may help calm your nerves…."

You hummed at him before leaning in more. Your noses continued brushing against one another, and your breathing grew shallow. You wanted to kiss him, wanted it more than anything. "Can I kiss you?" Iruka's words had you nodding your head violently. Your fingers gripped onto his dark locks, lip curling into a pout as he waited for a verbal cue.

"Please kiss me."

He put a hand on your back and yanked you into him, lips slamming against yours as his hands wandered up and down your spine. You moaned into the kiss and deepened it, wanting nothing more than to drown in him. "Ruka. I missed you" Your whine had him moving you, so he was hovering over your body, "I missed you too" His words were sweet, but his kisses were rough. It had been years since the two of you last kissed, and the energy coursing through you told you he also missed these moments.

Iruka's lips traveled down your jaw toward your neck, making you arch into his embrace. Your hands traveled down his body before grabbing at the edge of his shirt. "We shouldn't do this here," Iruka huffed out; he wanted to give you what you wanted, but doing so in the middle of a park was not a good idea. "Then take me home. I need you. Iruka please" he was up in an instant, your pleading sending a shockwave of arousal through him. He hauled you up with him before grabbing your book and blanket. He kissed you once more before grabbing your hand and guiding you swiftly to his apartment.

You had a lot to catch up on. That was for sure.

“So? You gonna come or not?” Iruka blurts to his friend when they meet up at lunch time.

Kakashi isn't quite sure what to make of this question. He doesn't recall talking with Iruka about going somewhere in their recent conversations—and he's pretty sure he didn't accidentally tune him out during any recent rambles, either. He looks at Iruka closely, trying to make heads or tails of it. Iruka is slowly turning red. His posture is getting stiff. And that scowl isn't the one he wears when he's angry, it's the one he wears when he's nervous. Kakashi bites the bullet.

“Where would we be going?” He asks.

Kakashi’s not sure how it's possible, but Iruka turns even redder. And face palms.

“Ummm, sorry. There's a fair in Senju Park this week. Mom said I can go tonight. And stay late, since I did so well on my last report card. So…” and Iruka takes a big breath in, “…do you want to come with me?”

This is unusual. Not the going out part, they do that all the time. This nervous, blushing, asking-in-person part, rather than a quick text.

“Would this be a date…?” Kakashi asks. And he's not sure how he feels about that.

Iruka goes from bright red to dead pale in an instant.

“N-n-n-no,” he stutters out. “Not— not—”

Yes, it was absolutely meant to be a date.

“Yes.”

They meet up at the park a few hours later. Kakashi spent more time than he wants to admit to trying to figure out what to wear. His dad laughed at him. Especially when, in the end, he wore the same basic clothes he usually wears—comfortable jeans, sneakers, tshirt, and comfortable hoodie, but the green one that Iruka likes, rather than the red one he was wearing at school today.

Iruka has changed, too. He's wearing Kakashi's favourite top—the one that shows off his forearms. And suddenly Kakashi realises that he's been looking at Iruka for a while. They've been friends for… well, almost ever. When did this happen? How did Kakashi not realise it before? Kakashi knows exactly how he feels about this now, and he is so, so happy now that Iruka was courageous enough to ask him out tonight.

“Hey.”

“Hey.”

They stare at each other kind of awkwardly, which is bullshit because they've known each other forever.

“Shall we…?”

“Yeah.”

Iruka passes him a bright yellow wristband and leads him into the park.

Together they pick some rides to try. Iruka’s a bit of a daredevil, so he wants to go on the Drop of Doom and roller coaster immediately. Kakashi is somewhat less so, so he convinces Iruka that they should warm up with the Octopus and Monster rides, instead. Iruka agrees, and they laugh so hard and have so much fun that it breaks up any awkwardness remaining from their knowledge that this is a date. Kakashi feels really, really okay with that now.

An hour of rides later, Kakashi is more than ready for a break. Iruka reluctantly agrees, and they make their way to the food stands and carts that have been set up for the day. They find a truck they both like the look of and stand in line. A long line had to mean good food, right? Kakashi sure hopes so—he’s all about comfort in food and never ventures too far from his favourites.

Between them, the teens consumed one loaded chili dog, the greasiest hamburger Kakashi was sure he'd ever seen, a bucket of poutine, and a giant bear claw. Since the rides hadn't done him in, he is sure the food will. Then Iruka bounces up from the bench they've been resting on.

“There's one more place I want to check out!”

Kakashi isn't sure he can move yet, but he’ll try for Iruka.

“Let's go.”

Iruka helps haul him up from the bench, and Kakashi is surprised he can stand. And then surprised he can walk. He has no idea how Iruka is bouncing around the way he is—Kakashi is sure Iruka ate more than he did!

They meander through the crowd for a while, waving at the occasional classmate they see, but making no move to join any of them, when Kakashi sees the stand a little ways away and balks. It is an ice cream stand. The concept of ice cream now is okay, but this isn't just any ice cream. No, the Golden Scoop is the ice cream shop on the other side of Konoha that Iruka has wanted to try since they opened. Kakashi on the other hand…

The thing is, they make all these weird flavours, and they don't sell vanilla or chocolate at all.

Iruka turns around when he sees Kakashi isn't beside him any more.

“Are you okay, Kakashi?”

Kakashi doesn't want to ruin this for Iruka, but he's honestly not sure if he can make himself go over there. Curry Thai Chili ice cream just isn't something he can make himself eat…

“I don't think I can eat that,” Kakashi explains. “Why don't you go ahead? I'll wait here.”

“Are you too full?”

Iruka is offering him the perfect out, but Kakashi knows him, and if he takes it, then Iruka won't go.

Kakashi wants him to go—Iruka's been wanting to try the Scoop's ice cream for ages. He hesitates to answer. Long enough that Iruka notices. Kakashi watches his face light up with understanding.

“Oh. Oh!”

Iruka holds out his hand to Kakashi.

“Do you trust me?” he asks.

Kakashi knows a trap when he hears one. Or, well, it would be a trap from anyone but Iruka.

“Yes.”

Iruka holds out his hand.

“Take my hand. I know they'll have something you'll like, too.”

Iruka is so sincere when he says it that Kakashi believes him. So he puts his hand in Iruka's and lets Iruka pull him toward the stand.

Iruka walks away with a double scoop cone with lobster and strawberry chive flavours. Kakashi ends up with extra virgin olive oil ice cream. Iruka was right, they did have something he likes.

They continue on wandering the fair, looking at the craft vendors, eating their ice cream, but now with fingers slotted together.

How would chiha's relationship with everyone be if it were the ninja world

I’ll just do the Konoha 12, Jiraiya, Kakashi, Gaara, and Iruka since those are some of the important people in Naruto’s life. We’ll just say they’re twins for the sake of not stretching out the timeline for her birth

Naruto - they get along great, but argue they argue like most siblings do over personal possessions and home decor. Naruto will also go and fetch her for free ramen when it’s offered. She wouldn’t know how to feel about his hokage dreams (if they were truly possible), but she would support him

Jiraiya - Gives her the ick. Like she gets that he’s a sannin and a sage.. But he’s a pervert. And he took her brother away for two years. Two thumbs down

Kakashi - She would probably ask him more questions than he’d be willing to answer. he’s so cool, but he’s also kinda weird (cause who just reads icha icha in public??)

Iruka - cool teacher. She’d like him for saving Naruto and looking out for them, and view him like their older brother

Sasuke - Doesn’t really know him, but he concerns her and she’s not sure why he and Naruto can’t just get along. THEY’RE TEAMMATES

Sakura - she gets along really well with Sakura, even if it’s in an annoying little sister way, and giggles over some crushes. She doesn’t get Sakura’s crush though, especially when they could become sisters if Sakura-Chan gave her brother a chance

Shikamaru - thinks he’s a smartass and Pakkun should’ve but him harder. They don’t get along, but he is kinda cute when he’s cloud watching and she will never admit that. Especially to him.

Choji - she likes Choji because he’s sweet and polite. Also gave her her first hug for giving him her bag of chips he apparently really liked. They’re good friends!

Ino - she wants Ino’s hair andeyes. Life’s not fair, but at least Ino is nice to her! They share village gossip and fashion tips.

Hinata - they know each other and Chiha thinks it’s funny to act like Naruto is there when he isn’t just to see that hard blush. Overall she thinks Hinata is alright, but needs to put some might in her words

Kiba - she told him she liked cats and dogs equally and they have not gotten along since

Shino - she forgets he exists frequently but doesn’t have an issue with him. In fact, he got her a roach to release in Iruka’s house once as a prank that went terribly wrong

Lee - his enthusiasm is funny to her and they get along well. She would probably make the mistake of challenging him to a exercise contest of some sort and never do that again

Tenten - now this would be her best friend. All the ghost stories and weapons to be had, plus some funny tales of how it is to work with Gai Sensei, Lee, and Neji

Neji - they wouldn’t get along simply because of their personality differences. No hard feelings though; he just wouldn’t want to entertain her hyper moments and she doesn’t enjoy getting angry glares for being silly.

Gaara - PANDA BOY! Not saying she would make him be her pen pal, but she would be very fascinated by him, who is a jinchuriki like her brother, and his sand. So once he’s made kage, she would send him a congratulations letter along with an origami gourd with glitter in it
