YES I am ALSO like...90-95% convinced that we're going to be getting a story card for Silver once we wrap around back to diasomnia. 👀 especially because the way things are going, Silver will be the only character whose dream we haven't seen -- yet???? -- and that just. y'know. makes me wonder!

although I do think it would be VERY funny if he got a story card and the groovy was just "regular Silver except with one beautiful single crystal tear". this is actually a lot coming from him.

Immediate swing around to a character that’s far less obscure and also technically existed when I was last active in the fandom, though I never drew her back then (I doodled everyone in the LoLK cast at least once except for her and Clownpiece). Anyway, I’ve been fascinated with the fact that she purified herself into being nothing more than her grudge so much that almost her entire identity was wiped away, so I wanted to draw her covering her face with a fan with a kitsune on it (used a couple ukiyo-e as reference for drawing that), looked up Chinese fans to make sure I was thinking of the right thing (this kind is called tuanshan), and found out they were historically used in a wedding tradition (queshan) where the bride covers her face with a fan and then reveals it at the end, so I was like. Well, that’s appropriate given that Junko is the Touhou character most likely to have been married at some point, so it all worked out nicely. But then I figured I should probably draw her face anyway, if only to practice giving Touhou characters faces that fit my style and aren’t all the same, and went a bit silly with it lol(k)

I think why everyone’s bringing incest/wincest into this is because a lot of j2 shippers are also wincest shippers 😩 Out of the handful of j2 blogs I checked out they were all wincest blogs mainly first

yeah like i get that there's overlap but it's slightly weird to me that the ships are being treated as like, interchangeable to some extent? i've never been into actor RPF and i guess that's part of the appeal but it makes it seem like... not RPF to me. still, given the poll is specifically about the actors, it's odd to me that people can't separate that from the (fictional!!!!) characters they play like, at least a little bit. like "you ship incest!!!" is a weird blanket statement to make about every shipper of a ship that is like. not incest. even if most of them also happen to ship another, very similar ship that is incest. idk if any of this is making sense? i'm super sleep deprived lol. like i get WHY people are saying that, i just think it's not a very fair/accurate thing to say. like there are also people in the notes talking about things they find cute that very much happened between two real people irl and aren't just based on the relationship the characters they play have/the relationship some fans want those characters to have. so there is definitely some distinction to be made.

i'm pretty removed from the situation, tbh i don't have strong feelings about j2 or wincest or cockles or destiel, i've never seen a single episode of supernatural and i barely know what the actors look like. i had no idea how intense of a ship war this was?? i feel like most ship wars die down when source material ends but to be fair the spn fandom is still very active, from an outside view it seems like the show might as well still be airing.

if anyone has insight into the minds of actor rpf shippers i really am interested in hearing what the appeal is, bc i don't get it but i'm curious. no actual spn shipping discourse in my inbox though. please. for the love of god. i'm not kidding when i say i haven't watched a single episode of that show idk wtf is going on

tldr idk this got way too long i understand the reason people say that but i'm not sure that's actually a fair assessment of the full appeal of the ship and also i don't know anything about the ship and don't really feel strongly about most of this, i just find the "well your ship is PROBLEMATIC" argument to be kind of annoying (toxic/unhealthy/problematic relationship dynamics can be compelling for their own reasons) and in this case i don't think it's even particularly true which annoys me a little extra
