im really sad about how wyll’s whole story is going in act 3 bc it feels like, compared to the other characters, he hasnt gotten any huge scenes where he’s actually making decisions for himself. like for the scene where mizora forces him to choose between breaking his contract or saving his father, you choose for him and he agrees to whatever you tell him to do instantly like. why. there also just hasnt really been any scenes outside of camp that wyll really gets to shine in even tho theres been plenty of opportunities for them

me: you know some of the comments about sera and prince not being able to sexualize them anymore were weird, but im sure that'll be the end of bad faith criticisms
instagram comments: (yelling at me over domino's redesign because they think its "twink death")

‘who asked for this?..’
well you see, sometimes☝️people get ideas for things without being prompted. this is called ‘new idea’, ‘surprise’ or even ‘innovation’

older seb and clora on a job as curse-breakers💖 seb likes working with clora bc it means he can always spend time with her & keep her close, but it also still stresses him out bc of how dangerous it can be LOL. and i love worried + overprotective seb, so ofc i had to draw one of their close calls 🥺💖💖

Still find it really really funny that Suo showed the slightest reaction to not liking natto and the class immediately latched onto that and dog piled him. No hesitation, just immediate teasing.

in the nicest and most non-confrontational way possible. i feel like some of you think that anything that isn't directly openly spelled out for you within a story is "missed potential" or "unexplored." like. sometimes there are implied narratives. sometimes the point is that you as the reader are supposed to think and draw your own conclusions and participate in the story. the writers not directly spelling every little detail out for you doesn't mean that the story is poorly written or missed its own plot details somehow. PLEASE.

The Fontaine main cast are all so thematically, emotionally, and narratively connected to each other that you can ship them in nearly every way and it somehow works.
I'm talking Furina, Neuvillette, Arlecchino, Clorinde, Navia, and Wriothesley here.
Wriolette? The upholders of the order of Fontaine. One on the surface, and one in the depths.
Clorivia? Childhood friendship, betrayal, and now healing with the truth and past resolved.
Neuvifuri? 500 years of closeness and understanding, mixed with distance and regret. Only after her sacrifice are they finally both free.
Arlefuri? Changing their fates through sheer force of will. Protecting the people who need on them, while accepting nothing in return.
Wriolinde? They were going to protect Fontaine together if its the last thing they do. Their trust is unbreakable.
Arlevia? Protecting their loved ones beyond the law. With a system and world that did not care for them, they care for their family their own way.
Knavilette? The seemingly cold and distant with bleeding hearts. They always keep their distance for fear of what would happen in a moment of weakness, especially with their overwhelming power.
Navilette? Personal regret with injustice and loss, now healing with compassion and understanding.
Furinde? The selfless princess and her loyal champion. She has always been by her side, protecting her with her blade, but only now does she get to know the real "Furina"
There are even more I haven't touched on (lemme know if you'd appreciate it ig?). These characters are just so...so interconnected through Fontaine with its themes on justice, order, love, loyalty, and more. They really knocked it out of the park with creating such a beautiful and complex cast of characters.

HTTYD 2 is ten years old today, it was my first exposure to the franchise and despite its many glaring flaws i can't help but love it and hold it so close to my heart.

This scene is a great example of why.
I love it so much. It's a heart-wrenchingly beautiful reminder that as good as he is, Hiccup is not some perfect hero. He is still just a person, a flawed human being who has cracked under the pressure of his circumstances and is barely given time to grieve his fathers' death.
(I adore scenes like this — It humanizes characters so much more, and just adds to that layer of perceived realism.)
And you can see the regret on his face as soon as he says it. But in that moment he doesn't do anything about it; he's still processing Stoick's death, and he only snaps out of it when he sees Toothless is under the Bewilderbeast's control again and Valka has to hold him back from attempting to go after him.
What he said and did to Toothless there was a momentary lapse in judgment fueled by grief. And later, as he breaks Toothless out of the Alpha's control, you can see he feels terrible about it. About how, even if it was brief, he pushed away his best friend. And he loves Toothless so much.
The way he talks to him literally breaks me every time I rewatch it.
"It wasn't your fault, you'd never hurt him, you'd never hurt me."
"Please, you... are my best friend, bud. My best friend."
And when Toothless comes back he just looks so elated to see Hiccup.
Tumblr media
Though, Something that's even crazier to me is the fact all this takes place over less than a week. Once he gets toothless back and Drago is defeated, he is immediately made chief. And with the state berk is in, he is given presumably no time to properly mourn Stoick, or to fully adjust to the presence of his mother.
(though I feel his and Valka's relationship will never be what it could've been. He knows she chose not to come back, and that is a blow to their newly formed and fragile bond that, as much as they love each other, is not something she can ever fully make up for.)
But at least through everything, since the beginning, the one real constant he's had has been Toothless.
They're friendship was built off a mutual feeling of out-of-placeness, then unconditional trust and unwavering loyalty.
they love each other so much it makes me wanna throw up

there are a Million ways to be a system. don't limit yourself or Restrict your idea of them too harshly. speak to multiple systems if you want better references for depicting them (or just to know how they work) because every system is different and unique

You mentioned Branch is a lot more u in the AU he went with JD & Jade
Will this sweep Poppy off her feet perchance? 👀
To me Branch is always the one who falls first in every universe, their friendship and his crush would start in movie one and he’d be hardcore flirting and she just doesn’t notice because of everything going on
Tumblr media
They would meet around the time OG Branch would’ve come to rescue her
Tumblr media
At some point I'll clean these up and line them but I've been having entire arm issues so we got sketches rn
Tumblr media
Things aren't all cupcakes and rainbows with the two of them, even with Branch not being gray he still harbors some worry and sadness which would end up being a point of conflict
Tumblr media
Not shown to great extent here but his inability to see "the silver lining" would become a moment of conflict for them in place of singing killed my grandma
Also what Lief is doing during all of that:
Tumblr media
He gets sent back to trolls village to help them hide from the Bergens while Poppy is away!

I really hate the whole "all vampires are evil. Even if they weren't evil in life, every positive trait is now negative." in DnD because it discards so much interesting story telling for absolutely no reason.
Vampires are people that were given immortality, power over others, and their method of sustenance inherently is selfish, having to be taken from others - but they're still people. People as mortals can be evil without those things, so why can't a person with that still make the choice to be good?
Some vampires take their power over others to be cruel, to get what they want without care for anyone else. To claim and consume. Others could live a hundred lives by different peoples sides, each love unique but finite. Some vampires could see their immortality as a curse, an eternity writhing in their sadness - while others as time they have to do things they never did as mortals.
"They can never feel love" - but love can be harmful too. Love can be toxic, it can be unhealthy, and I think that some people can be incredibly cruel in the name of love. Every emotion can be pure and good, and rotten and vile on the flipside, it depends on the person.
I just think it's more interesting if there was more thought put into the reasons the monster is evil, and that with those reasons, sometimes people will still choose to be kind, and others will choose to be evil.

I’m still in the middle of the books so I don’t know if they’ll talk about it yet…but if Dume knew Lhikan when he was a Matoran and a Toa and presumably had AT LEAST a professional relationship with him but then got nabbed some time during the Metru Nui arc does that mean he just completely missed everything that happened to Lhikan?
And the Toa Metru just have to tell him “yeah so the last of the Toa Mangai has died while you were sleeping” (along with ya know everything else that happened but the Lhikan part specifically, is that explicitly covered?)
Is that something I have to brace for?
