Healing
Faye sat in a chair overlooking the seas around Novum Chaldea, the wind a gentle breeze flowing through her hair as she watched the waves. Normally they’d be rough, treacherous seas but today, as if just for a moment, the ocean was a relaxing calm. Sparkling blue water shone up, greeting the setting sun as the sky began to shift. Blues turned to a vibrant orange and purple, the clouds layered themselves like ripples in a sea of clouds. All the while Faye simply sat and watched.
There was no urgent mission. No desperate need to save the lives of herself or the director. No ticking clock or the ever flowing sands of time to rush humanity’s last Master to thrust herself into the breach once more. No, now was a moment of calm, of peace, of reflection. Thinking back, Faye begs to reflect on her life. Her unremarkable youth up until her enlistment with Chaldea. How she went from a useless flunky to the last hope of mankind.
Faye also looked back upon her sorrows this past lifetime. The loss of dear friends, of those she couldn’t save, and the burning sensation of losing those she thought she could. All the pain and anger and depression that came with those hurdles were anchors in her heart. Each one tethered Faye to a moment she’d never move on from. The fear of the past and a longing to change what can’t be altered anymore. All those thoughts, those memories and regrets, made every effort to drag Faye down into her own mind. To drown her in her psyche and never want to step out.
That is, until something changed.
Until Faye met the love of her life. Until the young Master found herself happily entangled with a goddess in a chance encounter none could recreate. The two began to share a love so deep that nothing, not even the machinations of an alien god, could hope to break. A bond formed between soulmates of the highest caliber. Faye began to smile as the memories of Ereshkigal began to flood in. Every laugh, smile, blush, hug, kiss, and every late night spent talking over the woes of the world….all of it surged forth within Faye’s heart. Eresh had never left Faye’s side, even when the two weren’t physically together they always seemed to be as one.
The Master idly played with the ring on her finger, a solemn promise, a vow most unbreakable. As the sun began to crest across the horizon, Faye stood, turning her back on the coming darkness and stepping forward towards the brightly lit hallways of Novum Chaldea. Waiting patiently was a blonde girl in a black dress, one with an identical ring in her finger.
“Are you ready to come inside?”, the Queen of Kur inquired.
Faye gave her that ever signature smile as she nodded. Her eyes lighting up as she took Ereshkigal’s hand in her own and the two began to walk.
“I am.”, Faye replied simply.
And the door closed behind her.

Okay, got another ask for you: Highschool AU Ishtar and Eresh. What kind of hobbies outside of clubs and school do you think they'd have? Thanks again for the last ask, your responses make my brain brrrr

Highschool AU: Hobbies (Ishtar and Ereshkigal)
Ishtar
❆ She loves visiting antique/ vintage stores. They're the perfect place to increase her gem collection. Some rare finds may end up serving as decorations for her abode.
❆ Movies. Ishtar loves a good old classic movie. The locations, drama and scenes are very much to her liking!
❆ Shopping. Whether its to do her daily groceries, buy the latest clothes/makeup or find any extra gear, Ishtar actually quite enjoys going to the mall. She could probably spend the entire day there.
❆ Trips/ Holidays. If it wasn't for school, she'd be zooming halfway around the world right now. However, she has no choice but to stick with local trips and resort holidays for now.
❆ I feel like she'd be the kind of student who'd feature on street style magazines, or even have her own part-time modelling career so then she can save up enough money to buy the items she needs.
❆ The Arcade. She's too young to gamble, the best way to accrue some paltry funds is to challenge other prideful gamers at some arcade games. She wins every time XD
❆ Jogging. She has to be in peak condition! I have feeling Ishtar would have exercise as a hobby...
❆ Treasure Hunting (?!) Ishtar is always on the lookout for the next 'big thing' and for as many rare items as possible. She enjoys these kinds of things.
Ereshkigal
❆ Streaming on the internet! Eresh is a very popular streamer online, and its a great way for her to boost her confidence as well.
❆ She also likes to find great spots to take photos at and relax in.
❆ She likes to visit quiet places like the library to read and study.
❆ You may also catch her in the arcade, competing against Ishtar in certain games.
❆ Going on long walks. Ereshkigal loves to walk up to the highest spots and watch the scenery from above. A nice walk through the fields, mountains and hills does wonders to her spirits.
❆ Talking with her close friends. The group may not be huge, but she greatly appreciates their company!
❆ Trying out new things. Empowered by the sense of freedom that the Highschool AU endows her with, Ereshkigal wants to live life to the fullest; so is up for trying as many new experiences and going to as many new places as possible. It's given her a new lease on life.
❆ I can imagine her preserving wilted flowers and crumpled leaves, as well as making items.

From my wandering mind (trying not to debate on who to Grail next, Skadi or Berserker Musashi/Shii-chan), I couldn't help but think about hugs with some of the Servants in my Chaldea.
Each Servant hugs a little differently, but when it comes to Vy and her posse of Heroic Spirits, they all have their distinct impressions.
Saber Alter is a bit awkward with hugs. She just doesn't do them, Servant or not. But when Vy's in a bad spot, she ends up placing a hand on top of Vy's head for pats. It just works out that way. Burgers aren't included, but Vy ends up finding one near her lunch tray later anyways. Alter seems to be aware of extra-tired days, which says a lot considering how many enemies Excalibur Morgan shut down back in the day.
Chevalier D'eon hugs like a comfy yet prickly burr of some kind, keeping Vy close with one arm around her waist while a hand stays close to her rapier. D'eon is still a Knight even in peacetime, and she can't let her new Lord get into trouble. She still remembers that one giant ghost from the beginning of their journey, and how much pain it caused Vy from just defeating the darn thing.
Medea hugs like a distant aunt that just reunited with you after some time away, eager for more affection without saying anything. Considering Vy almost always is smothered by the Caster, it's become a thing. Sometimes, Vy gets glimpses of a tall, dark man with glasses in her dreams and lets Medea hug harder. It's the least she can do.
Diarmuid barely initiates hugs on his own, most likely from his past with Fionn and Grainne. Vy often has to tug on his shirt hems instead to ask for permission, and he acts like a gentle tree when she eventually hugs him. He never pushes her away, but the hugs don't last long unless he feels up for extending the contact after a particularly tough battle. His mole has caused him plenty of trouble already, having a Master that's not affected in the slightest while letting him achieve his dream of being a loyal Knight is all that he's ever asked for. Letting her hug him every now and then is okay. Not all the time, though.
Archer EMIYA acts more like an unmoving rock compared to Diarmuid's tree stance sometimes, barely flinching when Vy wraps her arms around his waist from behind but not really reacting to her touch either. It takes Vy asking him, "Hug back?" that he eventually turns around and humors her, but his embrace is always hesitant while still being tight enough to remind Vy that he's been scarred in his journey to be a Hero. That physical contact for the sake of contact is something foreign to him. Vy tries not to think about what he's seen as a Counter Guardian, merely whispering, "Thankie, Shirou," into his shoulder every single time she hugs him, because it's the least she can do for the first Gold Archer who ever answered her call for help. She might not be able to do everything for him, but goddammit, she's gonna do her best so that he can rest too.
Marie Antoinette hugs like a sister would, giddy and giggling the entire time Vy comes close. She encourages the hugs the most out of the first group of Servants who answered Vy's call, eagerly taking them on even when Vy's shy about asking. Arms around Vy's back, squeezing warmly, and a cheek brushing the top of Vy's head. It makes for a cute image, and hey. Giving love is the least she can do. No one gets away scot free with calling Vy's body "dirty" from all the wounds she's been dealt. Vy has a heart big enough to even accept the darkest parts of Marie that she's seen of herself, after all. The least Marie can do in return is indulge a girl who really should've met some better people growing up.
Miyamoto Musashi, even as a Berserker, happily accepts Vy's hugs. It's partially because Vy's cute when tugging on Musashi's sleeve to ask, but it's also because without her sword, it's easy to get lonely when traveling the world. Being stuck in a swimsuit is the smallest price to pay when it means Vy can cuddle up to Musashi like she hasn't seen the swordswoman in years. It's nice having someone close by, and permanently too. Plus, as much as Vy says it's okay, Musashi still feels bad about eating udon out of a Grail to the point of causing a Singularity. Sure, it wasn't as bad as BB's apparent stunt last year, but it's egged Musashi on some. Not helped by Vy's occasional little mumble of, "Don't leave again, Shii-chan," into Musashi's chest after some simulator fights in that flaming castle tower.
Scathach-Skadi didn't know what to make of hugs at first. Even with her world gone and then later having traversed a lookalike of it with Vy, she's still a Divine Spirit. The last god after Ragnarok. Her hands have been cold for who knows how long. Yet Vy still chooses to lean against her side every now and then, arm faintly winding around Skadi's waist for that extra bit of warmth, and Skadi's gotten better at ignoring the urge to leave for ice cream. Novum Chaldea may be hot sometimes from the lack of working temperature control to Skadi's liking, but a little one's presence makes things tolerable. Skadi doesn't want to think about the world she lost, about the children she was made to leave behind from answering Vy's call back when Da Vinci was much larger in size and presence, but when remembering the Lostbelt she fought that other self in, she'd take Vy's hand any day, even if it burned. She made too many mistakes in her old world. Never again.
Ereshkigal hugs Vy timidly, almost like a bear trying to be aware of her strength in front of a cub. So many things could go wrong in Ereshkigal's point of view, but to Vy, it's just another friend who deserves hugs. Cold hands be damned, hugs make everyone feel warm and Eresh deserves nice things in Vy's brain. Ereshkigal fumbles even to this day, tongue-tied over formal language and plain sputtering, but the blush on her face makes it obvious she doesn't mind. No one really hugged her while she was still head of the Underworld, and now that Vy is with her for who knows how long, she's gonna cherish her little grape.
Achilles hugs like an over-excited big brother wanting to see his newly born sibling, eagerly catching Vy in his arms before she could even touch him to lift her up in the air. He's laughing the entire time in contrast to Vy's surprised squealing, but he can't help but twirl her around and watch the squeals change into surprised giggling. Catching her back into his chest once she gets dizzy is fun too, because he's the tallest out of the Grailed Servant group and can thus hide her away when some too-curious-for-their-own-good staff are glancing their way. Achilles can't help himself. Vy's laughter is cute and sounds more like the aspiring young woman she was supposed to be. At least in his arms, she could be Vy and not just Humanity's last Master.
Arturia hugs like that of a cat, coming to Vy's side when she feels it necessary. Even after being the Saber-class Servant in two Holy Grail Wars over, physical affection isn't her strongest suit. She admitted as much when Vy first asked her for permission to initiate a hug. Still, Arturia's gotten used to Vy gently asking for it, obliging almost every single time. Hugs are a bit too firm sometimes, but it's not to the point of EMIYA's rock. Arturia's still learning. Plus, Arturia can't help but see the similarities between Vy and her past self, and the last thing Arturia wants is Vy having a bad ending like how she did.
Robin Hood, unsurprisingly, ends up being the main person Vy ends up following for hugs, acting like a human-ish vine. Maybe it's the green clothes and the lack of smoke on him these days. Still, even if Robin doesn't respond to Vy's hugs immediately, it's almost always guaranteed that he's gonna wrap his arms around her eventually. With the way he hugs her back, it sometimes looks like he cradles her, using No Face May King to hide her away from the world while pressing his lips to her hair. Vy doesn't mind, often snuggling him via pressing her forehead into his shoulder and contentedly slumping against him in return. It helps that he's her first Hero and still is, even if he didn't answer her call at first. It took two months for him to show up during the Incineration of Humanity. Still, when Vy hugs him sometimes, she later dreams of hikes with her dad. The scent of the forest is strong with him, and Vy dearly hopes Robin gets as much comfort out of the gesture as she does. Thankfully, there's nothing to worry about. He hasn't stopped calling her "little sparrow", after all.

F/GO High School/Modern AU BS
Me and @rex101111 have been talking about a modern/HS AU ft. as many Chaldean servants as possible. Here are the ideas we came up with (I am pretty much cut and pasting our message convo, so this is a mixture of both me and Rex's ideas):
Gil is the douchbag Senior everyone hates but his dad owns the school or whatever so he can do whatever he wants. The only decent person who willingly hangs out with him is his childhood friend Enkidu who's hoping he can un-douch his bro. He has kid Gil as his little brother and Caster Gil as his older bro who both agree that he sucks (Gil is the loser middle child of the family), Caster Gil wonders what Enkidu sees in his shit head brother. "He's too good for you." "Blow it out your ass." "One day he's going to wise up, see how much of a shit you are, and when you're all alone don't come crying to me." Caster Gil is in college studying political science, Kid Gil goes to a fancy boarding school. Archer Gil goofs off and throws parties
Scathach is a swimming class teacher, mainly b/c I recall underwater training being a part of Cu's regiment under her tutelage. People were jealous of the Cus for like two seconds when they find out the swim teacher is their mom, then they see her having them do an extra twenty laps and ignoring when OG Cu starts floating in the water. "CU DIED!" "YOU'RE NOT HUMAN!" while Scathach is like "you have two seconds to stop playing around before I ACTUALLY drown you" and he's back to doing laps.
Yeah with 4-5 Cus (if you count Setanta from Arcade) that is like 5 brothers.
Nightingale as school nurse, she is friends with Asclepius who works at a hospital associated with the school (strictly professional, but the students think otherwise).
Side note, keep in mind you can have multiple servants be the same type of teacher, just for different classes/grades.
King Hassan is the old Religious History teacher. Every one thinks he's older then the rock is the school is made out of. He has a scary face and a scarier voice but most students consider him the most fair and patient teacher in the whole school. He always gets a lot of food gifts before Ramadan form the students. (A few students, such as the Guda twins and Mash, call him gramps.) The other Hassans are his grandkids, like actual grandkids. He's super strict with them because he expects a lot from them. He always praises them when they do well though. He made sure they ALL got into his class and they've been living in fear ever since. They love their grandpa but by Allah they know not to disappoint him. The only one to ever get out of anything is kid Hassan (one of the hundred face). Cursed Arm is oldest, then Asako (the main hundred face), then Serenity.
"I am very disappointed in ALL of you, have you all lost your heads? I swear I-*to kid Hassan*-ah no Habibi not you you're fine here have a candy-*back to the rest*-I KNOW you're better than this!"
VERY traditional guy, Cursed Arm mutters "Oh for God's sake" while doing a pop quiz and King Hassan looms over him and growls, "No Blaspheming In This Class Room"
For the various Artoria/Arturias, I imagined Lancer and Lancer Alter being sisters, so Saber Alter is a cousin. That leaves everyone else to just be sisters with one brother. Mother Lartoria owns a casino and gas her own yacht in reference to the summer event where she became a Ruler. If you want MHX could be a part of the family as a massive fucking Star Wars nerd. MHXX and MHX Alter are her mom and sister (so MHXX is a third sister for the two Lancer Artorias)
For Irisviel, I remember in one of the Nero Fest things that she was called Therapist Iri. Maybe she starts to get into that b/c she wants to help her adoptive son Shirou (instead of a big fire like in Zero it can be an orphanage fire thing, similar situation but a much smaller scale) , so she is the school therapist/psychiatrist. Like Maruki in P5 Royal.
Iskandar died in his 30s, Waver is around his 30s as Lord El Melloi II. The two are old college friends who still hang out and Alexander is Iskandar’s kid.
If you guys want you can see this as the two being gay dads since I know that ship is popular.
Fran had an abusive father before Babbage and Moriarty got involved. In the og story, Frankenstien has a scientific mindset like his creator, here Fran has a talent in the field, but she also hates it b/c it reminds her of him. Like imagine being talented at the thing your abusive parent was good at/known for. Moriarty tried to get it into her that SHE'S the one with the talent, not her college dropout bum of a father, "From you tell me of him Victor couldn't engineer his way out of an argument with a cat, you have a magnificent mind my dear, not letting it flourish to spite him would be a horrible waste...it's your talent, your skill. Not his." He smiles that smile she loves that scares every one but she knows he only smiles like that when he is absolutely convinced of something, "and you can out perform him without breaking a sweat."
Moriarty teaches Fran sign language while Babbage teaches her some engineering.
Jekyll is going for a major in medicine with a minor in law (in the actual irl story Dr. Jekyll was a doctor in medicine and law).
For science associated servants, you got da Vinci, Babbage, Edison, and Tesla as possible science teachers.
The Jeanne sisters. Without the Avenger BS, the reason Jalter (or Joan as one series of fics calls her) could hate her here is just inferiority complex and being compared to her perfect saint big sister all her life. Joan does have her talents, based on the summer event an, but again she doesn't acknowledge her own talent b/c of her always being compared to her older sister., in the 7 counterfeit events she is a really good artist. And it is the typical thing of Jeanne actually being scared out of her wits of being less than perfect because of all the expectations thrust on her. She gets one A- and runs to the bathroom crying and Joan has to swallow her pride and actually have a conversation with her sister for the first time in years. Jeanne Alter lily puts up Christmas decorations super early, much to Jeanne Alter/Joan's displeasure.

Martha is Jeanne's BF since middle school and has this HUGE dog that scares everyone and growls at anyone expect Martha and Jeanne. She calls him Terry.
Rex loves Penthesilea. and we talked at length about the situation between her and Achilles. Can you not tell that he likes a woman who can kick his ass *gestures to all of his Baiken posts*
Rex's idea: I think they had a fight when they were little and Achilles, being a little shit back then, made fun of her for being a girl, and Penth has been sore about it ever since. She keeps running into big misogynistic meatheads that reminded her of that and she just got angrier over the years. She's a wrestler and can knock out just about every dude in school by herself. Achilles is very regretful about back then and wants to apologize but Penth ain't having any of it.
My idea: I thought they were on opposing HS sports teams and when Achilles handed her ass to her he forgot to drink his respect women juice and then Penth got all pissed.
In this AU, Penth and Hippolyta's dad was a general who taught them how to kick the ass of men twice their size since they were seven or something.
Penth surprises everyone when a festival comes up and she gets picked to be the one to organize everything...and does a spectacular job. Another surprise is that she plans on being a business major when she goes to college (Obligatory Amazoness CEO jokes)
Bedivere is the Arturia Pendragon family butler with a prosthetic arm. He's also the security guard, last guy that tried to steal something or cause trouble got slapped right out of the window he sneaked in from.
Francis Drake and Artoria Alter Lancer are work friends (referencing them both being associated with the Wild Hunt in F/GO's lore).
Beni-Enma is the short and shorter tempered lunch lady, last kid who mouthed off at her during lunch got smacked upside the head with her spoon. She's sweet, but if you're in detention and have to help her in the kitchen she's a mini Gorden Ramsey, "IT'S RAW DECHI!!!" She can also come into the home EC class where Shirou is her best student. Also her roasting of the other girls like in her quest. Getting Fs in Beni's class is the worst, because it isn't just an F, it's a meticulous dressing down of exactly why letting into a kitchen should be considered a war crime, dechi.
The three Avenger Nobus are three different people. 1st Ascension is basically Archer Nobu, then you got Oda Kipposhi, and then the mom is Ascension 3 with Demon King Nobunaga. The youngest Ascension 1 Nobu is a musician. Demon King Nobu is one of those "super scary but also super polite people that only makes them scarier" type, basically a female koei Nobunaga from samurai warriors (check out some cutscenes form the games with him, he's a treat).
Imagine Demon King Nobu mom in a business suit.
Suzuka Gozen and Sei Shonagon are the textaholics who always talk in slang to the point of it sounding like they speak a different language. Murasaki is the librarian but Sei is like that ONE student who just makes her job so much harder.
Every week it's "No phones in the library Miss Shonagon." while Sei rolls her eyes and types out twitter post like "fugly ol librarian at my school needs a life lol"
Oui Katsushika is a gifted art student, and her dad (not a floating little octopus), is just a normal dude with a squid/octopus like beard. She's the teacher's pet in De Vinci's art class.
Eresh and Ishtar come from a rich family, Ereshkigal is the older sister so she had a shit load of responsibility to take over the family business while Ishtar basically gets to party her life away. Rin is the cousin they each try and swing their way. Eresh wants Rin to keep up her studies and get into a good university, Ishtar wants Rin to loosen the fuck up and admit that she likes that scrawny Emiya kid already.
BB is the host of a talk show downtown so she is kind of an absentee mom. Meltryllis has prosthetic legs that she specifically asked to be made into stilts b/c she wanted to be taller, and Passonlip has a massive rack that makes life difficult (either people staring, people assuming she's gonna be a home wrecker b/c said staring must be intentional, etc.), and of course he also has prosthetic arms to match her canon claws, obviously not as massive.
Hijikata is a very serious police officer but his wife Carmilla just uses this to have fun in the bedroom. They have two Dobermans. Hijikata's route has him patrolling near the school so most of the kids know as that scary police dude that has a picture of his wife in his pocket. One day a famous Idol called Eli-chan~ (yes spelled with the ~) is about to perform in the town and the kids can't stop talking about her, so Hijikata overhears. But, being the serious dude he is he shrugs it off until he sees a picture of this "Eli-chan~" and realizes it's his sister-in-law that came to visit and suddenly the influx of parasitic paparazzi near his house start making sense.
Carmilla: "Now you see why I hate them?", Hijikata: "No you cannot send the dogs after them honey."
She almost ran one of them over in her, very expensive, car and when that reporter says she should be locked up Hijikata corrects that would only happen if she had hit him...and she would be fined. For littering.
Okita Alter being Hijikata's partner, while Okita is her younger sister who's looked up to Hijikata since she was a little kid but she has asthma and such so she's afraid she might not get accepted.
Sigurd owns a metalworks shop (referencing his myth where he was raised by the dwarf Reginn), he met his wife Brynhildr when she was disowned by her overly controlling father.
Ozymandias, Nitocris, and Cleopatra are all the high board members of a company. Nitocris specifically got wind of Scheherazade's abusive husband situation and after getting said husband arrested, she offered Scheherazade a job.
Atalanta is a college student/TA who worked with Achilles' dad who ends up at their HS for a program or something, Achilles' dad has told him a lot about her.
Amakusa Shirou is an uncle married to the CEO of Babylon Gardens Pharmaceuticals, Semiramis. Semiramis herself is kinda chill if REALLY scary. She had to be pretty cutthroat to get to her position in the company, but Amakusa Shirou helped her mellow out, but she is still a massive tsundere.
"You know you COULD poison their lunch." "Semi, dear, I'm not going to poison my coworker's sandwich for being an ass." "It wouldn't kill them! Just a bit in their peanut better and they'll be stuck on the toilet for a week, no harm no foul."
Rex initially said Taiga would be an overly enthusiastic gym teacher but then I remembered that she was a homeroom/English teacher in Fate canon, but either or can do if you wanna be unique.
For Quetzalcoatl, Wrestling club supervisor when she isn't the senior year gym teacher. Some of the male students laughed that they didn't think a woman would know anything about wrestling. Two piledrives later, the students have earned a new appreciation for the importance on how not to be two pieces of shit. She's big on Lucha as in canon and during Halloween she gets JAGUARMAN to have an exhibition fight with her. They make a show of it but later on Taiga admits that Quatz could have CRUSHED her if they were actually fighting. She takes the wrestling club out for homemade Mexican food after tournaments
For Siduri, there's a bunch of rumors she's dating Caster Gil but it's strictly professional, Caster respects her too much to consider that. Archer Gil hits on her relentlessly, she manages to wound his ego more severely then anyone else simply by being unfailingly polite in her rejections and treating him like what he is, a teenage punk jumping higher than he can handle to land.
Ibaraki is Shuten's adoptive little sister after she was taken from an abusive mother, hence why Ibaraki looks up to her. Ibuki is either Shuten's big sister who had to take on a guardian role, or just her mom. Shuten and Ibuki have a bit of a strained relationship because Shuten saw the way Ibuki acted as they grew up, taking more and more responsibilities onto herself and refusing any distractions. And she decided that her biggest nightmare is to wake up one morning and realize she's turned into Ibuki so she tries to do everything to avoid that, hence their relationship not being the best. Ibaraki is kinda stuck in the middle because she wants to side with Shuten but she sees where Ibuki is coming from. Messy.
Caren is still Kotomine’s daughter, but he isn’t a good dad and in rebellion she sleeps around despite being a woman of god. Including sleeping with local punk Angra Mainyu. Angra Mainyu seems like a bad guy but he has a shit load of issues due to being blamed for everything going wrong in his old town, eventually coming to believe them and thinking he will cause nothing but problems. Caren banging him gives him a type of closeness he’s never felt, but under very warped circumstances.
For the Tamamo family, Vitch totally fucked her way up a corporate ladder or something, imagined Tamamo Cat working at a Cat Cafe if she were a Student. Tamamo no Mae accidentally fed her prev BF a food he was allergic too, and that kind of haunted her and scared her rep. IDK basically she seriously fucked up a previous relationship, either on purpose or accidentally, and that kind of hurts her deeply so she wants to start over with Hakuno.
Nero and Tamamo no Mae are rivals over this one guy.
Kiichi Hougen is the adoptive mom, Benkei is the family friend/uncle, Taira is Ushiwaka's older sister. Taira isn't on the best of terms with her family, some drama way back caused a rift and nowadays Ushi is the only one who's willing to talk to her and visit. Benkei never lets her go alone because he doesn't trust Taira one bit. Taira and Ushiwaka are Kintoki and Tomoe's cousins (I say Tomoe b/c apparently her husband and Ushiwaka were half cousins, with their grandpa having kids with their grandmas. I tried to make a whole family tree out of a few servants).

His interaction with the Gudas made me laugh and shipped in particular for CasGil/Gudao. His interaction is also outright damn hilarious but I do like their frenemy relationship or still one-sided love from Ishtar’s part
Gilgamesh interaction with Kingu and especially about Enkidu is defintiely my most favorite since I fall in love with their friendship. And it broke my heart especially after the passing of Enkidu and him saving Kingu because losing his best friend once is already painful for anyone who has one you considered very close to even more than your family and anyone in the world
Merlin getting his ass kicked by Fou is outright hilarious, and I enjoyed his appearance when he helped the Gudas at the end to defeat Tiamat
Ana and Quetzalcoatl… Fuck my heart really broke for them especially Ana. Once given her identity revealed, it broke me especially facing Gorgon of what she will inevitably become. Quetz on the other hand tries to help Gorgon as being the best Onee-san and it didn’t really work out…
Eresh-chan where I’m really hoping she comes home in my Chaldea this year because her interaction is outright cute to the Gudas and specially despite her role as the antagonist, she loves and cares for humanity more than anyone
Lastly, no one actually bullied Romani this time round out of joke so much. Something that makes me really happy after the non-stop bullying from every fucking Singularity
Overall this singularity I’ll look forward to seeing it on anime soon, and eventually the rest of the singularity
Solomon Singularity
Needless to say, the conclusion for the first Arc will hit in the list
The fact every Servant that the Gudas meet will come to aid them knowing it’ll be death if they fail
Merlin’s confession that he’s Magi*Mari not only shocking but outright funny since it’s the relate example that your 2.5D waifu is probably an old dude behind the screen XD
Fou’s sacrifice to revive Mash… One of the heartbreaking scene at the end
But the one that hits the worst is Romani…. Him being Solomon, Marisbury’s Servant, the Grand Servant known as King of Mages… The man who spent his entire life worrying about the humanity’s end and feels helpless when he becomes human. Yet, he never regrets it because that was what he wants from the start, the one desire he finally is able to be selfish to say what he wants from his heart…

My favorite is definitely how Gudas rebelled at the Lion King, their real answer to King Hassan about the whole situation in Camelot will does show their character development even if it’s reader-insert.

Agravain… I want to see more of his appearance despite his personality and certain views… I feel complicated about him but I want to know more about his character and even his interaction with Gareth in particular

Artoria Alter riding a bike wins!
But seriously the reason this is in is actually James himself. His entire apperance and role in the story just basically win my heart
Yan Qing too especially that one scene of cross-dressing to find out where he is among the mobs in disguise

Fate/Zero Accel Event
Again, literally any Urobutcher’s work will hit my top list
Waver’s entire role and the finale with Iskandar… Yeah, fucking fate/zero feels all over again
And his interaction with his teacher especially wanting to save him because he failed once hurts too
But the fact he easily conned his teacher lessen the pain since it hurt my st
Despite the crazy price, Iskandar actually helping Kariya to save Sakura really wins me. Only the sad thing is because this is an alternate history…
Irisviel and Artoria’s interaction, their relationship in Fate/Zero speaks louder as Artoria really becomes her knight to protect Irisviel from harm until the end
Kerry and Irisviel’s interaction… At least a possible happy ending is finally formed for them despite they have a completely different relationship

I actually missed out this event… But why this is in the list it’s because I want to fucking play this event back once the rerun kicks in!
At least after reading Solomon Singularity where he appeared to aid Gudas… And of course with the pillars regretting how they fucked up by getting him as an ally to help the Gudas..

The one event that’s basically one hell of a comedy fest XD
From Jeanne Alter counterfeiting Da Vinci’s stuff to summoning fake Servants to get Guda’s EX harem skills 
Mama Emiya trying to escape but failed miserably!
The Fake Servant appearance where everyone guesses and tries to comprehend their role
FAKE SIEGFRIED, NUFF SAID! The Sumainai who actually don’t wants to be a sumanai downright hurt my stomach for a while
Best scene is still the crew breaking in to face Jeanne Alter, only to find her in questionable position with Fake Brynhildr. Gudas trying to get the Servants to fight only to remind by Mama Emiya that everyone lost their motivation thanks to that
Lastly the longest “…” scene with Jeanne Alter… Tsundere definitely cranks up high on her for this entire event XD
Little Santa Alter
The final Christmas that Romani appears TT_TT
The entire reason why this happens because of Jeanne Alter’s own plan and ended up backfiring her XD
But the Gudas actually coming up with this plan really does show further development in them after bonding all the Servants they had in Chaldea
Santa Island Mask, where no one knows it’s Amakusa Shiro but Lord Santam is where everyone obviously knows it’s Mama Emiya XD
Asterious, the cinnamon roll of fluff wish for happy days like this
Jack, Nursery and Jeanne Lily friendship development is definitely why this is in the list
And Jeanne Lily herself, her development from being a Santa claus to eventually being a proper Servant after finally being able to be selfish for what she wants
Almost Weekly Santa
The fact Artoria Alter drags the Guda with her is downright funny XD
Her beating nearly everyone before giving the present is amusing to see especially giving Emiya, David and Robin Eli-chan’s special Christmas concert
This event is why Alter version is the better Artoria since she actually pretended to lose so that Jack and Nursery are able to celebrate Christmas
Slippery Caesar getting away from conning other Servants, god fucking damn it!
Lastly Jeanne Alter and Artoria Alter bickering… Yep, they really get along well as the Gudas stated
But poor Pierre’s soul clones at the end on being Jeanne Alter’s partner in the game of monopoly

Penance
(I told you there would be consequences!)
Days after what would be known as Operation: Naptime, Faye arrived once more in Val’s Chaldea. The two chatted for a while, Faye remarking on her recent odd encounter while Val nodded along. Ishtar and Eresh had time to relax and catch up on what the other’s counterparts were doing, and Val’s Ereshkigal even made an appearance!
As the day continued, lunch quickly approached. The servants and their respective Masters made their way to the cafeteria. As bustling as always, the room was packed with servants. Each one demanding their own unique meal while others attempted to rein them in, all at the expense of Cat, Emiya, and Boudica.
Lunch continued without a hitch, that is, until Faye grabbed Val’s hand and brought her onto the stage. Confused, Val opened her mouth to speak as Faye called the room to attention.
Faye: Everyone! Everyone! Your attention please! Yes, you, look up here!
The roar of the cafeteria turned to a quiet murmur. It became so eerily quiet that Val could’ve sworn she heard a cricket.
Faye: Now that I’ve got your attention, I’d like to say something for you all! Recently. my friend Val here had been worried sick. She’d taken time and time again out of her day to make sure that I was rested and cared for! She even went as far as to pull a devious trick on me to get me to relax. Be honest, can you guys say that that’s pretty on brand for her?
A murmur of agreement washed over the room. Faye turned to look at the awestruck Val, her mouth hanging open as she realized she’d been discovered. Before she could defend herself, Faye spoke up once more.
Faye: Since she’s such a great friend, I wanted to take a moment and praise her. Thank her for being so tireless and caring! I’m sure you guys all agree! A round of applause for Val, everybody!
A raucous cheering and clapping filled the room as the lights dimmed and a spotlight shone on Val. Faye walked over, mischievous smile on her face as she raised her hand to Val. Flinching, Val quickly closed her eyes only to have another, far worse sensation come over her. Faye began to pat her head, ruffing her hair only slghtly while the cheering continued.
Val turned seven different shades of red in a very “I want to die of embarassment” mood as the praise continued. Faye leaned in close while giving the girl praise and spoke.
Faye: Payback. Da Vinci spilled the beans. Don’t worry, i punished her too. She’s grounded for a week with nothing to do. No electronics, no devices, no art, no nothing. She’s completely locked down. 
Faye pulled back, her hand stilled upon Val’s head.
Faye: I told you. I don’t need a nap.
The cheering continued for quite some time until Val finally fled the cafeteria. Faye calmed the crowd and finished her lunch before Ishtar came up to her.
Ishtar: She was only trying to help!
Faye: I know, but she locked Eresh and I in a room until we “slept together”. Luckily we literally took a nap and avoided the whole thing, but still. It was stressful on my Goddess. So, justifiably, I had to make things stressful for Val.
Faye continued her visit a little while longer before Mash sent her back home.
Don’t ever force Faye to take a nap.

Daydreams
Everyone has dreams. Goals they want to accomplish in their life. Challenges to overcome. Feats to call their own. Everyone has dreams, no matter if they’re human, Heroic Spirit, Deity, or Demon. Everyone deserves a chance to realize their dreams, regardless of their lot in life. Everyone has dreams. Even the Last Master of Humanity, fighting every day to preserve and restore their world, deserves a chance to dream
Faye sat at her desk, notebook out in front of her as she scribbled down her thoughts. Most of the records in Novum Chaldea were digital, as that was just easier to categorize for future use. These notes were personal, and no matter how long she spends typing, Faye could never replicate the sheer comfort of a pencil in her hand.
Between gripping the granite filled wood to the sounds of stone against a paper, it was all soothing to her. She could spend hours doing this alone. Scribbling down her latest daydream, she set down her pencil, covering her eyes with her off hand and letting her writing hand relax. Comforting as writing things by hand was, it still left her with cramps after doing it for hours on end. After her brief rest, Faye continued to write, her thoughts burrowing into her mind like worms in her brain.
Faye was so enticed by this project that she failed to hear the knocking on the door. She also didn’t notice the flowing blonde twin tails of a familiar face moving into the room. Silently, Ereshkigal moved towards her hunched over girlfriend, eager to not disturb her.
Eresh had initially wanted to talk to Faye about something Ishtar had said. Her sister was always too good at getting into her head and sometimes she needed to talk things through with Faye. Rarely was she so hard at work, however, tuning out everything around her. As such, Eresh didn’t want to disturb her. The goddess’s curiosity overwhelmed her, however, and she couldn’t help but lean over the shoulder of her girlfriend to peek at her work.
Eresh: “The sea air whipped at the captain as she stepped out of her cabin, her hand instinctively flying to her tricorn to-“
The young master screamed, falling off her chair and scrambling to cover her notebook as she looked behind her. Eresh’s face was completely stunned as Faye worked through the mortal terror of being seen. With her face beet red and her arms clutching her notebook, Faye managed to get out a stammering of words.
Faye: M-My goddess? How? What? When? How much did you see?
Eresh raised her hands and took a step back. The placating gestures seemed to have worked a little but Faye’s eyes were still wide with fear.
Eresh: I only walked in a moment ago. You were so focused and I didn’t want to distract you.
Faye: You didn’t knock?
Eresh, deadpan: I did. You were so engrossed that you didn’t even notice me! I walked in and saw you so I tried to be careful and not bother you.
Faye: Why did you look over my shoulder?
Eresh: My…curiosity got the better of me. It’s just- I’ve never seen you work so hard or passionately before. It’s like you were on another world.
Faye sighed. Closing her notebook and putting in on her desk and returning to her seat. She spun her chair to face Eresh.
Faye: I was….distracted….
Eresh: I’ll say! You were completely unaware I was even here. Even my aura as a goddess went unnoticed!
Faye: I’m sorry, my goddess.
Eresh feigned a pout, cracking open one eye to see Faye’s reaction.
Eresh: I suppose I can forgive you, but on one condition: You tell me what you were writing!
Faye’s face returned to its flushed state, her eyes suddenly finding the floor extremely interesting as she squirmed in her chair.
Faye: I was…..I was writing a story.
Eresh: What kind of story?
Faye: Just a dumb short story. One about a pirate captain and a mermaid. I just sorta….got the inspiration for it and started putting it to paper.
Eresh: I didn’t know you wrote short stories. Can I read some?
Faye: I-I don’t know, my goddess. They’re not very Good. It’s not like I’m an actual author or anything. Certainly not like Hans or Murasaki…I’m just an amateur…
Eresh gave Faye her best pleading face, complete with puppy dog eyes and a quivering lip. Faye was weak to such methods, and caved almost instantly, reluctantly handing over her flowery notebook to the Queen of Kur.
Eresh began to flip through the various pages. Multiple seemingly unrelated stories filled the lines, their words weaving worlds full of life, vibrancy and detail. Faye watched nervously as Eresh’s eyes went wide when she began to read one story in particular very closely.
Eresh: Faye?
Faye: Yes, my goddess?
Eresh: What’s this story here? Something about an inn-
Faye snatched the notebook from Eresh’s hands, slamming it shut and attempting to hide it with her torso. Her face and ears went red as she tried to find some excuse.
Faye: N-N-Nothing! It’s nothing at all! Nope! Just a draft!
Eresh: There sure was a lot for just a draft. It looked like a full story!
Faye sighed, setting the notebook on her lap.
Faye: That’s because…it is. It was my first fully written idea.
Eresh: The main character’s name was Faye too?
Faye, nodding: Mhm. I….like to write myself in. Sort of an ideal me. In this story I’m an adventurer on a quest to find a cure for a sick friend. I’m brave and strong, full of determination and a sense of justice.
Faye looked down to the floor, her shoulders slumping forward. She closed her eyes before speaking once more.
Faye: So much unlike my actual self.
Eresh: I think you’re brave.
Faye lifted her head slowly, her face riddled with confusion. Clearly the goddess must be flattering her. She wasn’t brave by any means, and she certainly wasn’t strong.
Eresh: I admit, I only got to watch you in Uruk, and wasn’t there for the other singularities and battles you fought, but when you came to my land you were full of bravery and strength. You were determined to save the world and it showed through every action you took. You stood brave in the face of goddess and monsters and even a primordial being.
Eresh got up from her chair and cupped Faye’s face with her hands. Faye could have sworn the light behind Eresh grew more intense as she looked deep into her eyes.
Eresh: You’re the bravest, strongest, kindest, most determined person I’ve ever met, and I’m so happy to have met you.
Faye’s awestruck look turned into a smile as she nodded, Eresh releasing her face and going back to her chair. Faye handed over the notebook once more and Eresh took to her reading with fervor.
Faye: Can I tell you something, my Goddess?
Eresh: Of course, anything.
Faye: I had a dream, before all this happened. Before the Incineration of Humanity, before the Lostbelts….I wanted to be an author. I wanted to write fantastic stories and give people something to enjoy during their darkest moments. Now….now I’m afraid I won’t have that chance. I won’t get time to dream anymore, not with all of this.
Eresh: Faye…..you’re already a light in the darkness of so many people’s lives. Your actions, your kindness, everything you do brings someone joy. You make people happy, and comfort them in their time of need.
Eresh closed the notebook, handing it back to Faye who in turn set it on the desk. Hands in her lap, the young master turned back to the goddess.
Eresh: And for the record, there’s always time to dream. You’re surrounded by inspiration and great authors here. I’m sure your dream will come true, and when it does, your books will save someone’s life.
Faye: You really think so?
Eresh: Faye, I’m the Queen of Kur. I know a thing or two about death.
Faye: Thank you, my goddess.

Innkeeper AU (Part 8)
Night had fallen on Faye’s ad hoc camp. The fire in the center crackling as she rested on a nearby log. The light smoke a lazy, gentle haze as the windless night dragged on. Faye reckoned that she was maybe halfway back to the Heaven’s Bull, more or less. Her journey back had come with less challenges than the trip to the Capitol, but even with an easier trip, she couldn’t shorten the vast distance any faster. Each night she settled down and made camp, she let her mind wander. Wander to what she’d do, how she’d apologize, and all too often, how Eresh would act.
Would she be happy to see her? Would she be upset? Would she even look at her? All these questions kept pinging around inside Faye’s head. She pulled out her rations for the night, a small meal. Nothing nearly as good as Eresh’s homemade dinners, but it would have to suffice.
The fire grew, now warming the surrounding area and Faye dined as she listened to the wood crackling amidst the flames. The sky was cloudy, but even still, moonlight illuminated the area surrounding her, this small clearing she had found. This was a good place to make camp, and Faye was all too ready for sleep.
Finishing her meal, Faye turned and lay supine on the log. It wasn’t much, but it felt a little better than the dirt. She looked to the stars and let her mind wander once more.
What can I even say? Sorry I didn’t stay and abandon my quest? Sorry that I couldn’t stop your sister from kissing me before I left? Sorry I didn’t try and say anything before I left? No, none of those would work. She’s sure to be pissed at me. I’ll be lucky to even have her look at me let alone talk to me.
Faye was so entrenched in her own mind that she missed the signs of someone approaching. The cracking of twigs and shuffling of flora. It wasn’t until the figure was nearly upon her and spoke that she even knew she was no longer alone.
???: Senpai?
Faye moved, quick as lightning she hopped to a defensive stance, hand inches away from her weapon. She looked over at the source of the voice, and her jaw went slack.
Faye: Mash?! What in the hell are you doing all the way out here?
Mash made a placating gesture and motioned for the two to sit, the girl’s glasses reflecting a bit of the campfire’s light as she spoke.
Mash: Father asked me to try and find you. He said he was worried about you and wanted to make sure you were okay.
Faye: Doctor Roman sent you over half a continent away to check on me? All by yourself?
Mash, pouting: Senpai! You know I’m tougher than I look! Plus finding you was too terrible. It was mostly those main roads. I kept going until I saw the smoke from your fire and came to investigate. Honestly, Senpai, you need to be more careful. I was right next to you and you didn’t even notice. It was like you were on another world.
Faye gave a light chuckle, hand rubbing the back of her head.
Faye: Yeah, I kinda was.
Mash: What were you so preoccupied by? Clearly something was bothering you greatly, I’d never seen you that worried before.
Faye: Promise you won’t laugh?
Mash nodded and Faye let loose a sigh, back slumping forward as she covered her face with her hands.
Faye: I was thinking about a girl. An innkeeper I met. She took me in when I got sick, there was a storm, it was a whole ordeal. Point is, she kinda kissed me and I ran away at the first chance. Now I need to make it up to her.
Mash: You mean Ereshkigal?
Faye’s head snapped up.
Faye: You know Eresh?
Mash nodded.
Mash: Yes, I stayed at the Heaven’s Bull on my way here. There was an innkeeper and her sister running the place. Ishtar said that Ereshkigal hadn’t been the same since you’d left. Like something was missing.
Faye: She misses me?
Mash: It seemed like it. I was....distracted, though and didn’t really focus on Ereshkigal.
Faye: What had you distracted? You’re normally the most studious person I know.
Mash: Well, to be honest, it was Ishtar. She was so nice to me, we shared a few drinks.....I think we hit it off. But I told her I’d stop by again when I found you. She seemed sad but wanted me to pass on a message. “Faye, sorry about what happened when you left. I had no clue what happened between you and Eresh. Come by soon ~Ishtar”.
Faye chuckled, her shoulders relaxing. She looked towards the sky, trying to find the moon before speaking again.
Faye: Mash, do you remember that old story Mister Teach always told us? About the moon?
Mash: Yes; So long as you have the moon, you and your true love are never far apart.
Faye: I’m pretty sure that the moon spoke back to me. I heard Eresh’s voice on the wind when I was in the Capitol.
Mash: Senpai.....
Faye: And the cruelest part? Even if I make it back and apologize, even if I tell her how I feel, I’ll still have to leave again. I have to get this medicine to Mister Teach.
Mash looked surprised, then angry, then annoyed. Faye watched her friend cycle through her emotions before speaking.
Mash: Senpai, I was supposed to tell you that too!
Faye: What?
Mash: Father stabilized Mister Teach’s condition. He’ll be fine for a long while. I was supposed to let you know that he’s doing better!
Faye: Mash that’s great news! I’ve got the medicine in the saddle on the horse Ishtar lent me. We can take it back and cure him!
Faye’s entire demeanor shifted. No longer had she wasted time, chasing a love interest while her parents’ best friend suffered in sickness. No, for the first time, her quest felt validated, like she’d finally done the right thing. Soon after though, Faye’s face shifted to a frown.
Faye: I still have to leave Eresh though. The medicine......
Mash: Actually Senpai, I have an idea. What if  I take the medicine home in your stead? That way you don’t have to leave again?
Faye: You’d do that?
Mash: Of course I would, Senpai.
Faye: Oh, Mash.
Faye scooted over and hugged her kouhai. Her friend was precious, and without her, Faye would surely be lost. She hugged her friend for another moment before releasing her, scooting back apart on their shared seat as the fire crackled, a piece of firewood breaking apart and releasing its ash into the night sky.

Innkeeper AU (Part 9)
Stars peppered the cloudy skies as Faye walked up the Inn’s door. The old wooden handle both an invitation and a challenge as she weighed the options in her head. She had rehearsed her words for the past week with the help of Mash and now it was time to put her practice to the test. Slowly and carefully, Faye opened the wooden door, its hinges creaking as the familiar interior was revealed to Faye.
Candles dotted the various tables, their flames flickering against the impinging dark from outside. At the bar stood Ishtar, her brows flicking up in surprise as Faye took her first steps in. Faye took her sword and cloak off, setting them on a table before approaching the owner of the Heaven’s Bull.
Ishtar: Welcome back, Faye. I trust your trip was a success.
Faye: It was, in no small part thanks to you. Is Eresh-?
Ishtar nodded, pointing to the back kitchen area where the sounds of cooking could be heard. The clattering of spoons, bowls, and knives leading Faye to suspect that someone was hard at work.
Ishtar: Want me to get her for you?
Faye: Yes, please. But before that-
Faye leaned in to whisper in Ishtar’s ear, the owner nodding and giving her a thumbs-up before leaving to go into the back. Faye sat at the bar counter for what felt like an eternity. Each moment building upon her sense of dread from the coming confrontation. Her heart twisted and turned on itself, that sense of hollowness eating away at her.
Eresh: Hello, Faye.
Faye’s head snapped to the side as she stood. Her back stiff as she tried to maintain her nerve. Before her stood Eresh, her eyes more tired than she remembered. Not a single hair was out of place as always, but something was off, like she had not been sleeping.
Faye: Eresh! H-h-how have you been?
Eresh shook her head.
Eresh: A little worse for wear, I suppose. Things have been......difficult lately.
Shaking her head once more, Eresh made eye contact with Faye.
Eresh: Ishtar said you needed to speak to me. What is it?
Faye: Actually, I was hoping that I could speak to you outside, under the oak tree.
Eresh looked at Faye for a moment. Confusion and then realization dawned on her. She nodded, following Faye as the adventurer held the door open for her on their way out. They walked wordlessly to the oak tree, the clouds now covering the stars that had one lit the skies moments before. Eresh sat first and rested against the familiar bark of the tree. Faye followed suit, her shoulders remaining tense.
Eresh: So? What was it you needed to talk to me about?
Faye: I wanted to apologize.
Eresh: Apologize for what exactly?
Faye stood, keeping her face forward towards the rolling hills further away.
Faye: For everything. For my actions, for leaving, for not confessing my true feeling to you. For not accepting yours and running, using my mission as an excuse.
Eresh: Faye.
Faye turned and faced the innkeeper, her eyes filled with tears as she sunk to her knees, the two of them face to face, looking deep into the other’s eyes.
Faye: I am so sorry, Eresh. I was scared. So scared of losing this wonderful, beautiful person who had come into my life, who had saved my life That I ran. I ran the second it was an option and left you behind. I told you I could not stay and used my mission as an excuse to run away and leave you behind, to try and cover up my own feeling. But I was wrong. I was wrong to run, I was wrong to let such a good thing in my life, a beacon of true happiness that I have never experienced before, pass me by.
Eresh looked upon the weeping form of Faye. Faye, who had defended her at a moment’s notice without hesitation, now could not even look her in the eyes. Faye’s head was hung low, her shoulders sagged as she struggled to get her words out.
Faye: And I was too stupid to even realize what I had missed. I was too shortsighted in my attempts to move on that I did not even think about how my actions could affect others. I am sorry, Eresh. I am sorry with every fiber of my being. I am so sorry. I never want to leave here again. I want to stay and be with you, living here with Jack and Ishtar. I want us to grow old together and retire to a small house in the countryside one day. I want you to give me a second chance even though I know I do not deserve it. Please, Eresh. Will you give me another shot to make you happy?
The innkeeper looked upon the girl in front of her. Her desperation was clear, her words were true, and most of all, she was pleading with everything she had. Eresh knew though, that it was her choice. She could tell that one word from her, and Faye would leave, no questions asked. One word determined her fate, and she was ready to receive a pardon or a penance, whichever one Eresh deemed necessary. The thought weighed heavily on her mind as she thought it through.
Eresh: Okay.
Faye’s head snapped up; her eyes once filled with tears now brimming with hope as she processed the sentence.
Faye: You’ll- You’ll give me another chance?
Eresh: You can have another chance. To be honest with, you, I was undecided. Every day since you had left things have been hard. I struggled to do so much as getting out of bed in the morning. It felt like my heart, my soul, had lost a piece of itself. Like I’d been shattered into a million tiny pieces.
The clouds began to thin as Eresh continued, moonlight filling the air.
Eresh: It wasn’t until one night I sat here by myself, pleading with the moon to let you know how I felt, that I finally came to terms with everything. I finally processed why you had left and stopped beating myself up over it, blaming myself for driving you away. For trying to keep you even though you had something you had to do. Finally, I looked at the moon and said, “It’s okay, Faye.”
Faye: I heard you!
Eresh, quizzically: What?
Faye: I heard you that night! Your voice carried on the wind while I was in the Capitol. It’s what drove me so hard to come back! I heard you saying it would be okay and knew what I needed to do. The myths from my village were true!
Eresh: You mean the one you were telling me? The one about your true love?
Faye, nodded. Her expression filled with hope and validation as she brought herself close and closer to Eresh. Tears framed her face as the two pressed their foreheads together and a moment of intimacy. An intimacy only found by soulmates reunited with one another.
Faye: Eresh, I love you.
Eresh: I love you too, Faye.
Eresh cupped Faye’s face and kissed her. A deep, longing kiss that parted the skies above them, letting the moon, in all its divinity, shine down on them. Faye and Eresh kissed once, twice, three times, just savoring the other’s presence and the feeling of finally being complete once more. That empty feeling that kept gnawing at their hearts now dissipated as the void inside them was filled. Finally, the broke apart, sitting next to each other under the oak tree, looking onwards at the world in front of them, now more vibrant, more alive than it had been just moments before.
Eresh: You still must leave to go home, right? I mean what good does that medicine do if it never makes it home?
Faye: Actually, I have a plan for that. You met Mash not too long ago, right?
Eresh: Yeah, she said she was a friend of yours and left to find you.
Faye: Well, she found me alright. When she did, we came up with a plan that solved both of our problems. I would stay here with you, and she’d take the medicine back to her father and Mister Teach using Maanna. I asked Ishtar about it right before we met up again.
Eresh: Faye that’s wonderful! You can stay!
Faye: I can stay. I told you, I am never leaving again, not without you.
The two shared one more kiss under that old oak tree, moonlight shining through its leaves and branches. The two lovers, once lost, have found themselves once more. And together their lives would continue, hand in hand, side by side, for the rest of their days. And those days would be spectacular.

Dodging Death Pt 15 (Proto Cu, Cu Chulainn, Rin, Ereshkigal)

She’d come to this world with one intention: find the king that was supposed to die and immediately take him to the underworld.
That was it. Ishtar had already made this whole process a thousand times more complicated than it needed to be. She was supposed to be looking for a human and would have had a much easier time if Ishtar hadn’t butted herself into the whole affair.
Then again, she’d asked for Ishtar to help her.
She’d thought that Ishtar would be tying him down or casting a castration spell or simply tripping him before complaining that her feet hurt so bad and no one loved her. She’d expected something much more Ishtar-oriented. Instead, what had the woman done?
She’d turned Gilgamesh into a cat.
A golden, puffy feline.
They’d had to run to one of the other gods to be able to trail after the king through his tear through time. That had taken enough of an effort that he had actual time and adjustment to this life and world. He could have been anywhere, anywhere at all and they would have to go hunting him down like a beast in the wild.
“I know what we can do,” Ishtar had told her.
She didn’t want to know what the plan was.
Thinking about it now, Ereshkigal couldn’t think of anything she wanted to know less about. Her sister was going to end up creating a mess of trouble in this time and it would be entirely up to her to fix it all. Their father would hound her about it. Her brother would roll his eyes and return to worshiping his wife. Their mother would wince.
The one upside to the whole thing was that she was in the underworld.
She was at least able to distract herself with her audit of those who had died. Small favors were still favors.
“Miss?”
Ereshkigal looked up, noting the same lookalike that Hakuno had pointed out before she’d left.
“Miss, we’re about twenty minutes to close. I wanted to let you know so that you could find a good stopping point and make sure to check out your books before you go.”
The books she’d found were actually rather cute. There were lots of precious pictures of families and their feline friends. She had no idea what they said, but the pictures were worth looking at. It was like someone had frozen the people of this world in a still image, preserved forever more like a painting. She’d tried scratching at one of the pages a bit earlier in time and found that the images weren’t even made of paints.
These people were fascinating.
“Thank you,” Ereshkigal told the woman.
Turning back to her book, Ereshkigal pressed her fingers lightly to a cat with similar patterns to that of Gilgamesh’s cat form.
After this was all said and done and the great and noble king of Uruk was in the underworld… maybe she would have to come back here. She could spend a few days in this time, learning how to read the strange script of this world and spending more time with that girl from before.
Hakuno was so full of life.
There had been no malice or hatred. She’d shared no ill will or ulterior motives. When she had spoken of a cat, the woman had immediately assumed she had wanted one and had described the beauty of the beasts. It was thanks to her that she could see these beautiful images.
Her eyes strayed to the card that the woman had given her with a contacting method.
Her eyes drifted to the woman at the counter.
First things first, she needed an answer.
Ereshkigal stood up and hurried over to the counter.
“Are you ready to check out?”
“Umm. No,” the language of these people were a bit difficult. She’d used magic to learn, but it was still a challenge. She set the card on the desk. “Can you… Can you tell me how to use this?”
The woman, Rin, looked down at the card before laughing a little.
The woman brushed her hair back.
“This is a phone number. You’d use it on a phone. You must have been getting along really well for Hakuno to give you her number. She just got recently engaged.”
“I-I just came here from far away… Hakuno said she would be my friend.”
It felt so strange to say it to this woman. It was like confessing to her sister.
Rin raised a brow and smiled.
“You must have been getting along really well for Hakuno to give you her number,” she said again. “And your accent is really cute. You must be from somewhere near where Hakuno’s fiancée is from. You just take this card and go to type in the digits.” She pulled out a device and pressed the buttons, the woman’s name showing on the phone. “Click the green button and it will start dialing.”
“A phone…”
Rin frowned a little. “…Do you not have one?”
She expected a laugh.
Ishtar was always laughing and causing trouble like that. She would get the haughty, hip swaying retort a moment before one of them would get pissed off at the other making a comment. They’d begin fighting and there’d be another series of destroyed buildings for the rest of the gods to clean up.
“Miss,” Rin was still frowning. “Do you… Do you have somewhere to stay in town?”
“I’ve been wandering in the streets.”
“The streets?!”
“My sister um… she kind of abandoned me.”
Rin moved around the counter, her face in a mixture of anger and something else. She barely had time to flinch before she felt the other’s arms around her. She was pressed against the other’s chest, held tightly to the woman.
“Miss Rin?”
“Good god, no wonder Hakuno gave you her number. I can’t believe that. Do you know how dangerous it is right now? There’s an axe murderer out there right now!”
“I’ll be okay-“
“NO! No.” Rin pulled back, holding her shoulders. “I can’t allow it. If you can’t stay with me, let me at least get you a hotel room for a night. Or I have a couple friends that would be able to hole you up for the evening. My um… I have a guy that I sometimes spend time with for the sake of personal amusement that would be able to take you in… if you were okay with it. His roommate is a great cook.”
“I don’t know them though…”
“Or you could stay over with me? Or your own hotel room.  I don’t need to know the room number or anything!”
She was still being hugged.
This had to be the strangest day she’d ever had in her entire life. She was being hugged by someone that looked exactly like Ishtar, all the way to the voice. The only difference were those eyes. The deep blue eyes were so soothing.
“I don’t want to be a burden,” Ereshkigal tried.
“You’re coming home with me,” Rin told her simply.
A voice drew their conversation to a stop. Rin’s head turned immediately before Ereshkigal found herself yanked over to the blue haired man nearby.
“Cu!” Rin smirked, “this is my temporary roommate.”
“My name is Ereshkigal,” Ereshkigal found herself saying.
“Right!” Rin smiled, hugging her again. The hugs were becoming addictive. “Eresh doesn’t have anywhere to stay and has been living on the streets!”
“Geez, are you tryin’ to die?” Cu stared at her in horror. “You got bags somewhere we gotta grab?”
“Bags?”
“Your things,” Rin explained. “That’s a good point, Cu.”
“I don’t have things.”
The two stared at her before Rin moved to Cu.
“I’m sorry! I just- I don’t really need things and my sister had what we brought,” she tried to explain.
“Your sister is going to get her ass beaten by me,” Rin snarled. “The first thing I will do when I see her is give her a good smack to the face.”
Cu was practically glowing at her words.
“Anyway,” Rin huffed. “Since you have nothing, I can’t stand for this. Eresh, you can borrow something of mine. I might be a bit small in size for you, but I think I have something.”
“I appreciate it.”
She didn’t know what else to say on the matter, but that was alright. The two began to talk and Ereshkigal found herself waiting with Cu as Rin went about closing the library. There was a little man that came out from the back to grumble and complain about Hakuno before leaving. There was a tall woman that looked like she would have been one of the more foreboding spirits in the depths of Kur. She followed the little man out.
Rin led them to the doors and locked up, testing the doors and waving to the strange little device near the doors.
“Hakuno out today?” Cu asked.
“No, we had her leave early.” Rin shook her head as they headed to a strange metal wagon nearby. Ereshkigal found herself ushered into the back before the two climbed into the front seats.
“How come?”
“Hakuno, in her great brilliance, brought her boyfriend to work with her. Hans got a bit hot under the collar. Kiara started making some little comments here and there. I decided I could use the extra hours.”
“Did they do something?”
“Hans says they didn’t,” Rin told them. Her eyes flickered between the two of them before her smirk became bigger. “Kiara swears up and down that she saw the two of them having a moment by the magazines. She made it sound like Hakuno was doing… less than appropriate behavior.”
That sounded more like Ishtar.
It was so weird to sit here, listening. Cu would keep the conversation going, earning more and more Ishtar-like gossip by the woman. The smug smile was so familiar that she had the need to almost ask Ishtar what she was doing here.
She was too similar.
“Welcome home!” Rin told her, the wagon coming to a stop near a quiet building.
“This is your home?”
“Our home,” Rin corrected. “At least until you can get on your feet again.”
“I’ll stay here with you both just to look after you.” The man grinned a bit, “Rin’s a good egg, but she is a terrible snorer.”
“Excuse me?”
“Terrible,” Cu went on. “You’ll see her pass out when watching TV with you and you just hear this sound. It’s like a loud foghorn, escaping straight from that mou-“
Rin smacked his arm, storming out of the car.
“She’s a great woman,” Cu told her. “I’m just here because Rin’s been having a few nightmares and you stayin’ gives me a good reason to both stop the nightmares and keep ya both safe.”
Ereshkigal simply nodded.
“Come on,” Cu nodded towards the doors, leaving her to climb out and follow him into the house.
The two led her to a room. Rin gave her a nightgown, beaming proudly at seeing her get excited. The nightgown was cute. Even better, it matched another that Rin had changed into.
They settled onto a large cushioned bench together, Rin and her both cuddled up next to Cu. Cu turned on the large portrait somehow, illuminating it with a great deal of light before he found-
“You mind?” Cu glanced over at her. “Rin likes mysteries and this is supposed to be funny.”
“It’s a play?”
“A movie,” Rin told her, like that explained everything.
Something buzzed a moment before Cu was feeling his pockets. He pulled out one of those phones, his name showing a moment before Cu held the phone to his ear.
“Ah, so you finished work?” Cu laughed at a small voice coming from the phone. “I’m over with Rin and our friend Ereshkigal.”
The sounds began again, but stopped a second before Cu spoke again.
“Ah… hold on.” Cu pressed his phone to his chest. “Rin? You mind if Proto comes?”
“Junior? Sure… but, don’t let him get up to too much trouble. If he does anything-“
“I’ll keep him on a leash,” Cu promised, brushing the woman’s hair.
He spoke on his phone a moment longer before they settled in. The two of them began to wait, with Rin going to the door and turning on the light. It didn’t take a great deal of time before there was another Cu looking guy there. He was younger, he had shorter hair, but he seemed nice enough.
“Oh… Hi.”
Ereshkigal smiled to the man. “Hi.”
“…Hi.”
Ereshkigal glanced over at the other two, finding Cu smacking the boy upside the head.
“Eyes on the TV, Junior,” Cu growled.
They settled back down to watch the strange movie, which, as it happened, was a strange and beautiful play. They paused it about halfway, with the main actress sobbing over an old man that she had given bad medicine to.
“I have to use the restroom,” Rin told them, pressing the pause button and hurrying towards the other room.
“I’ll be right back,” Cu told them, heading into the room with cooking things in it.
Proto looked around.
“I feel so bad for the apsu,” Ereshkigal breathed, looking at the frozen faces of the actors. “She loved the man. You can see it in her eyes.”
Humans were so astounding.
She could feel all that pain, all that terror and horror in her eyes was stalled. The wrinkles on her forehead were so prominent.
“I don’t think this is the truth,” Proto murmured.
“What? But she can’t lie,” Ereshkigal pointed out.
“Oh, no. She can, but she gets sick. She’s also a nurse,” Proto pointed out. “I bet you she’s taken something for it.”
“Do you think so?”
“We can look it up,” Proto offered, pulling out his phone. “It’ll take me maybe a minute to find out the plot to this movie.”
“…You can phone someone?”
“Ah, no, I was going to use the internet.”
“The internet?”
Proto began to laugh, “You sound like Gil when I first showed him how to use his tablet. Come here, I’ll show ya.”
Ereshkigal stared at the phone, her eyes widening.
The phone was a universe in a rectangle. The man looked up the actors of the play. He looked up a video of a cat when she mentioned cats. He showed her a video of someone falling off a wagon and into a lake, which he laughed about for several minutes.
She leaned against his arm, watching in fascination.
“You can look up anything with this?”
“Anything at all. I can buy things with this.”
“That’s amazing.”
Proto glanced over at her, his smile growing.
“…What?”
“Nothin’. It’s just been a really long time since I’ve had a girl tell me that somethin’ I’m doing is amazing.”
“You are amazing! I never would have guessed that a phone could do so much.”
The man’s face turned pink, making her lean in closer.
“…are you okay?”
“You’re name’s Eresh, right?”
She opened her mouth to point out that it was actually Ereshkigal, but… No one was here to really point that out except her. Ishtar had run off with the king’s axe in hand. Rin and Cu were already calling her their friend and was giving her nice things and a room. She had… friends.
The thought made her vision swim.
“Whoa, whoa!” Proto moved immediately, facing her more. “I didn’t mean to upset ya. Is it an insult or something-“
“M-My name is Eresh.” Ereshkigal smiled a bit, shaking her head. “It’s just… It’s really nice to be around people that are kind.”
“Ah, shit.” Proto shook his head, She felt his arms wrap around her tightly, pressing her against his chest.
“CU! YOUR BROTHER-“
“OI! LAY OFF RIN!” Proto yelled over at her. “ERESH WAS CRYING BECAUSE SHE’S HAPPY TO HAVE FRIENDS! LET ME GIVE A DAMN HUG!”
She felt another hug against her. Rin was wrapping her arms around her tight, tugging her away from a squawking Proto and against her shoulder instead.
“I’ve got you,” Rin murmured. “You’re going to be my sister and friend, alright? Remember I’m friend number one.”
Rin was amazing.
Hakuno had been so right.
She had been on the roads of this city for so long, hunting for that damn king that wouldn’t let himself die. She had been so cold and so tired. Her sister was doing something stupid no doubt. There was never anyone to talk to and, when there was, she was always at the short end of the whole thing.
Hakuno had let her have three friends.
She had Cu. She had Proto. Most importantly, she had Rin.
“D-do you want to watch the rest of the movie?” she asked her first and best friend and sister, Rin.
“Well,” Rin grinned, “we can, but I think we should make Proto and Cu break out the wine. If we’re going to cry, we’re going to cry because of wine.”
The next time she saw Hakuno, Ereshkigal decided, she was going to make sure that woman knew that she would give any favor, anything at all, to her.
Proto held her tightly after the wine was poured and the movie was resumed.
Rin cuddled against Cu, holding her hand as the film continued.
This was the best night of her life.
