anyway i was thinking about paarthurnax as usual and like some of his dialogue is so funny. like yeah he phrases everything in this dramatic, philosophical way but if you read between the lines he just sounds like a lonely, nerdy grandpa. for example, when you first meet him and he asks who you are, if you tell him "i think you know who i am," he'll respond with: "Yes, Vahzah. You speak true, Dovahkiin. Forgive me. It has been long since I held tinvaak with a stranger--I gave into the temptation to prolong our speech."

in other words, "sorry for yapping its real lonely up here." like. aww. its okay i'll talk to you ^_^

#one the best things I've learned to do in the last five years is advocate for myself #new people took over the kennel I contract at and they haven't been giving me any of the boarding nail trims #I've been a little miffed about it but didn't say anything bc I assumed it was a money thing - if I do the nail trim I get commission #but if a kennel tech does it they don't get commission #today I caught them with a special baby of mine tho and they had just gotten started so I said #I'm supposed to be the only one who does her nails #and the tech was thrilled bc she doesn't like doing nail trims anyway #so after that I pulled myself together and said something to the manager about how the old owner had me do basically all of the nail trims #and he goes #great!#we all hate doing nail trims #and I ended up with 3 today and 2 tomorrow which is an extra $25 in my pocket so that's awesome #i really have found just talking about things like an adult (calmly and rationally) can get you the things you want most of the time #ig bc I grew up with a parent who would sometimes snap at me just for speaking I always expect the worst reactions from people #but so far I've found I almost always get the best #and even when I don't get what I want #nobody has yelled at me for asking

just had the greatest nap dream. superman and i were walking through the watch tower and held the doors for other heroes behind us. it was an unusually busy day and superman and i ended up holding the doors for a long ass time as a lot of people were bustling in and out of this hallway. batman was pissed because we missed the briefing then called us idiots and announced a plan to replace basically every door with automatic sliding ones. then i farted myself awake.

#i love when my dreams are overtly specific scenarios that have happened #obvs not the superman part #but back when i was like 17 #i applied for a job at the cvs at the south shore plaza #and i ended up like super late to my interview because i could not stop holding the door for people coming in and out #and only by chance did i run into thr manager who was on his way to his car for his lunch break #he said thanks as he went through and i was like no problem and he stopped and goed #your voice sounds familiar #you wouldnt have been the one i talked to on the phone for an interview? chris?#and i was like yeah thats me #and he goes #is this why you didnt show up? busy holding the door?#needless to say i didnt get the job #the interview i was given went well #but because of how i was dressed i did not get the job #all i owned was a pair of jorts with holes in them and a stained red polo shirt and some shoes that had the soles missing #in my defence i was still homeless at the time #not much i could do without a job lmao #nap dreams

Sure have!#I forgot how long it takes for Chimera Falin to come into play.#I still really love my 'better drawn' art of her - unfortunately it was several weeks too early for the anime only folks.#Slowly getting the hang of drawing Laios. I don't know why I struggle so much but I am getting...somewhere.#Meta time: God damn I love how the chimera shows off the expertise and gap between Kabru and Laios.#The truth is: they are both *right* and they are both *wrong*.#This creature is a combination of monster and human and they only have the skillset to deal with one of those.#Kabru goes for all the human vitals - but she isn't human.#Laios tries to approach her as a monster and is struck down by the humanity he sees in her.#She is something new that defies what they *both* understand about the world. And that makes her such a perfect antagonist.#The damsel was the dragon all along!#...She is really so cute though. Terrifying! But adorable. I am so excited to see the boom of fanart for her.

i used to be so good at writing strong, thoroughly-researched, thoroughly-edited essays.

as a kid in hs, my teacher literally came up to me, holding my 40 page essay on the intersection of the European witch hunts and capitalism/exploitation/gender roles (it was supposed to be 7 pages...whoops) and went like "this is literally a master's-degree level thesis. what are you doing?? you could literally use this as your final dissertation in a master's program, what the fuck."

NOW??? NOW?? you'd think I'd be oh so skilled. but alas. i can barely piece together two ideas. adhd skill-regression is so so real. im SOBBING
