Steve's talking about his last date. "I thought she was trying to eat me at first. Props for bravery, though, I don't think I've got a hickey on a second date before. It might've been nice if she didn't bite so hard." 

"She bit you?" you ask, horrified. 

Steve perks up from where he's slouched in the driver's seat. You knock your knees together, feet on the dash, reaching over to turn the radio down.

"I mean, yeah?"

"What?" you ask, lips pulled down in concern. 

"What do you mean, ‘what?’"

"Why did she bite you?" 

Steve goes from incredulous to more genial, the soft version of him that you don't often see. 

"You've never had one?" 

You shove your hands between your thighs and don't answer.

"When you give someone a hickey, you can bite down. You know, not to break the skin or anything. It feels nice," Steve explains, taking your silence instride. He's lying against the reclined seat, half his face hidden by leather. "You really never had one?" 

"No," you mumble, eyes resolute on your knees. 

"Hey, don't be shy about it." His fingers twitch towards you. "I'm serious, babe, it doesn't matter. You're not missing out half the time. And some people don't like them at all." 

"Do you like them?" you ask.

You can't believe you've asked him but Steve never makes you feel stupid about anything. 

His lips part like he's weighing his words before he says them. "Yeah, I like it. It's hard to explain. And not just getting one, giving them is…" 

You brave a glance at him. He's not looking at you but your hands where they're squished between your legs. 

"I don't know. It's good. It's like a weird hug," he says finally.  "I think you'd enjoy them." 

That draws a startled peel of laughter. "You think?" 

"Yeah. You're cuddly. And you get embarrassed easily. I think they'd honest to God melt you." 

He laughs. The sound is rich with sweetness. 

"Oh," you murmur. 

"Oh," he says agreeably. "Shit, the sun's going down. What time is it? Do you need to go home?”

“No, it’s okay. It’s not that late. Nine something.”

He kicks up in his seat but doesn't incline it, digging around in the footwell for his soda. 

You take your feet off the dash and try to ignore the way his mouth moves, the bob of his neck as he swallows. 

"You know," he says, wiping his lips with the side of his hand, "I don't know why we didn't get something to eat. Are you hungry? Cheeseburgers, right?" He does a double take at your expression. "Regular burgers? Babe, what does that face mean? Throw me a bone. Chicken nuggets?"

"Um…" You laugh at yourself, scared to say it, almost not quite joking. His description of them… you want to know how it feels. "Will you give me one?" 

"Of course I will. Did you forget your purse?" he asks. 

"A hickey." 

It takes him a few moments to understand. "You want me to give you a hickey?" 

"Would you want to?" 

Steve looks at you funny. Too serious for him, long seconds of his eyes on your face like he's searching for something. 

"I'll do whatever you want me to," he says. 

You've barely any time to come to terms with what that means when he's leaning back in his chair. "Come here," he says. He must gauge your surprise, because he explains, "I'm not gonna be able to lean over. You'll like it more like this, trust me." 

And you do trust him, inexplicably. "Okay," you say. 

Steve smiles at the clear nervousness in your voice and holds his hands out. You've hugged a lot of times and that helps ease the awkwardness as you climb over the console and onto his lap, the back of your thighs pressed to the tops of his, his hands more than respectful at your sides. 

He's languid beneath you. 

One hand travels to the small of your back and stays there. 

"You wanna start with a hug?" he asks. 

You nod. This you can do. This you're good at. You go to tuck your hands over his neck and he takes them into an almost stern grip. "You go under." 

You wrap your arms around his waist and try to listen to his breathing as he pushes your head over the juncture of his neck. 

His arms find you in turn, one over your shoulder and one around, palm to the back of your head.

"You're really warm," you say. 

Steve's hand moves from the back of your head to your neck. His pinky finger glides over the side of your face, strokes over your hairline as he encourages your head towards your shoulder, baring your neck.

"You're not warm." The heat of his breath fans over your skin in a wave. "You're on fire," he murmurs. 

"It's summer." 

"Listen, if I do something you don't like or you want me to stop, you have to tell me." 

"I will." 

"I'm an excellent kisser, but it's like I said; some people don't like it." 

"It's alright, Steve. I'll tell you.”

"Yeah, yeah. Stay still then," he says, and kisses you. 

He starts with the smallest pressure, a dry press of his mouth. His lips slowly part. You gasp at the new feeling, a damp silver of warmth, a half-crescent of ticklish heat. He slides his hand between your neck and your shoulder, the tip of his index finger brushing your ear lobe. 

You shudder. 

"Okay?" he asks into your skin.

"Yeah, I'm fine," you whisper. 

His bottom teeth scratch over your neck and you inhale fast. He shushes you so gently you feel yourself go to jelly in his hands, worse when he kisses you in a way that juxtaposes his sloven touches and demeanour; rough, open-mouthed. He sucks your skin until it burns. Then, the barest hint of teeth. You're startled enough by the new feeling to try and pull your thighs together over his lap. 

He chuckles into your skin and pulls back, brushing his hand over the quick-forming contusion carefully. 

You brace your hand on his shoulder to look at him, your enjoyment obvious. 

“That was it?" you ask.

"No, that wasn't it," he says, suddenly loud. He drops his head back against the chair and drags a hand through his hair. 

"I just thought-" you begin, swiftly cut off by a glare with no real malice from Steve. 

"I'm warming you up, 'cos you've never had one," Steve says all in a rush, rolling his eyes. He starts to pull you forward again. 

"'That was it?'" he repeats, teasing. "Shut up. I can feel your heartbeat, you know that?" 

"What?" 

"I can feel it," he says. "When I kiss you." 

He kisses you again, a love bite, a scraping of teeth against your pulse point. You tighten your arms around him and whimper. 

When he's decidedly finished he pulls back. "S'nice sound… wanna make it again?" 

You nod vehemently. He grins, lips shining, and dives in for another.

Shrewkit yawned, blearily opening her eyes. A cozy warmth enveloped her body as she rolled to her paws. "Mama?" she chirped, glancing around in confusion. Where was Sorrelstem? "Moosekit?"

She frowned. Sneaking out in the middle of a snowstorm had been a horrible idea, but it felt as though she'd only taken a few steps from the nursery. How had she gotten so lost?

"Hello, there, youngin." A large grey and white she-cat had appeared beside Shrewkit.

"Oh, uh... are you a rogue?" Shrewkit's brows furrowed thoughtfully. Sorrelstem had said most rogues were friendly. It was only a few who gave them a bad reputation.

"Hmm, not really. I was a FallenClan clan cat once, just like you. The name's Moxie."

"That's not a clan name," Shrewkit giggled. "But Celia doesn't have a clan name either, and he's the best! He's so-o-o-o funny!"

Moxie chuckled. It seemed as if stars swam in the she-cat's pelt, causing Shrewkit to lean forward, sniffing Moxie's pelt. "You don't have a scent," Shrewkit gasped, amazed. "You must be a great hunter. I bet you were a good warrior. I want to be a good warrior, too!" To demonstrate this, Shrewkit dropped into a crouch, wiggling her haunches.

Moxie's smile faded, melancholy shadowing her gaze. "Shrewkit, do you know where you are?"

Shrewkit flopped down onto her belly. "No... everyone must be really worried about me. Can you help me get home?"

Moxie settled down beside Shrewkit, exhaling softly. "I'm afriad not, hon'."

"Why not?"

"This is StarClan." Moxie's tone was overwhelmingly gentle. Shrewkit trembled slightly.

"Oh."

"It will be okay. One day, your family will join you. But until then, you need to be really brave for them, okay? I'll introduce you to some other cats. I think you'll get along really well with my son, Sandykit."

"Okay..." Shrewkit sniffled, trying to be brave. "Am I... able to see them?"

Moxie didn't need to ask to know what Shrewkit meant. "Of course, anytime you want. Do you want to see them now?"

Shrewkit shook her head. "Not yet. I don't want to see them all sad." Moxie nodded in understanding.

"Why don't I take you to go meet Curly? She's your grandmother, actually." Shrewkit's eyes widened. "She's hanging out with Oaktuft and Toro right now. Sandykit will be there, too. Maybe Icekit as well..." Moxie hummed.

"Can you carry me there?" Moxie nodded, leaning to pick up Shrewkit but the she-kit ducked away. "No, wait. Can I ride on your back? Rowanleaf always gives the best badger rides because her fur's so thick, kind of like yours."

Moxie inhaled, gaze watering slightly. "Okay, hon'. Hop on."

You turn over. The covers are yanked off of you; body shaken by a force you deem too early to deal with, but she won't let up.

"I'll eat a star from your favorite constellation if you don't."

You're fairly certain she's bluffing, but knowing there's no way you'll win this battle in the long run - you sit up. Salem pumps her fist in triumph.

"Finally- Don't worry though, I wouldn't have done that. Gives me heartburn." She tosses you a ball of clothes and your shoes. "Get dressed, we're going on a date."

Salem is already rearing to go, mainly because you've never seen her out of a casual tee and baseball cap - which you were sure was somehow her flesh in someone way.

Formerly your co-worker at a local convenience store, it turned out that was all a comatose dream and she was a reality devouring abomination that saved you after a cult had sacrificed you to bring forth the destruction of your world. Whether through memories she had implanted in your head, she was now your partner and the cause of at least one five more people vanishing of which only you remembered, as well as the reason you hardly slept at night due to her random binges - or waking up to her watching you.

"Does this date have anything to do with a gas station?"

She pauses. "Maaaaybe. Don't sweat the deals, let's just get going."

"It's 2am."

"And it's 2am somewhere else. What's your point?"

Reality smacks you in the face the moment you walk inside the store. On the store walk there, you hoped it was another dream, but seeing someone else behind the counter and the busted air conditioning told you this was all real. Salem walks through the ideas grabbing the things she liked, along with a few she knew you enjoyed. At the end of her run, she looked like a child who's parent had left her without supervision and an alarming addiction to energy supplements.

You step outside as Salem pays for her things. You don't know where she got the money since she spent majority of her time at your house or loitering around your workplace, but it's probably better if you didn't. She walks outside with a pleased look of her face, which quickly turns to horror as she remembers something.

"Wait- I forgot something. I'll be right back, take these." Salem shoves her bags in your arms and rushes back inside. The weight topples due to how overfilled they are, contents spilling over the road. You're able to pick most of them up just fine, but a stray can rolls a few feet away while you pick up the rest. You go to retrieve it, but someone else grabs it before you could.

"This belong to you?'

You look up at the stranger. You saw them outside when you first showed up, but didn't pay much attention at the moment - despite them watching you the entire time you were in the store. You hold out your hand for the drink, but they pull it away before you can grab it.

"Can I have it back?"

They grin. "Depends on what you'll do to get it back."

"I'll just buy another then."

"Aw, don't be like that. I don't want much. A phone number would be nice." They reach out to touch your shoulder, but a hand blocks them from making contact. Salem leans on your opposite side, pulling you away from the stranger and distancing you from them by stepping between you. She smiles a little too brightly for your comfort, but it only irritates them rather than set off any red flags.

She waves. "Hey there! Nice night isn't it? What's going on here?"

"Nothing, we were just talking so-"

"Haha, I don't really care. The conversation is over, so now I'm gonna take my friend here home and make out with them while you go fuck yourself or jump off a bridge. Whichever's more convenient."

The stranger yanks her by her collar. "You-"

"You're scared of possums."

Confusion flashes in their eyes as their muscles go lax. "What did you just say?"

"You're afraid of possums. When you were eight, your dad hit one and you thought it would be a good idea to hit one, and for some reason you thought it would be cool to touch it - but it wasn't dead."

They let go of her. "How... did you know that?"

Salem shrugs. "You just seem like that type of person- or does that fear stem from the fact they remind you of the guy you hit a few years back."

The stranger flinches as she hits her open palm while making making a crashing noise.

"Just barreled right through him. Didn't even stop to see if he was alright, but you saw the news reports didn't you? Wonder how that full ride to college would go if they knew you splattered some old dude's brains against the road, or the same happened to you."

Salem stares at the stranger as they begin to hyperventilate. Their eyes meet beyond her shades - and they scream. They break off into the night while Salem picks up the can they had dropped during their escape, pouring the remaining contents of the busted lid into her mouth. Having witnessed similar events before, you're unfazed - but curious.

"Did they really kill someone?"

She shrugs again. "I dunno. I just started bluffing after a while. Gets a little hard to pinpoint the full details the further you go, but I'm about sixty percent sure there was some truth there."

"Hm... What did you forget by the way?"

"Oh! Right." Salem pulls out a snack box and rips it open, digging through the bag until she finds a silver painted plastic ring. "Let's married."

Like just after Prom Queen as they're just getting together. I can imagine Sam singing it as a way to tell her that it's okay to fall for him. I have a huge headcanon that he and Mercedes spent a lot of That Summer on the bank of the Lake in a little hidden place. Mercedes reading, Sam drawing, both jamming out and singing together to Sam's guitar - this is one of his go to songs.

She smiles at him and talks to him and he's totally freaking out and trying not to show it because he's kind of watched her grow into this Superstar of a singer for years now and he's finally meeting her and he blurts out that he's been subscribed to her from the very start and she remembers his goofy screen name (SamIAm) and the comment he left on her first video and he's totally freaking out now but in a good way because she's everything he though she would be. obviously they get together somehow but idk how

There's something very Sam about this one, but I'm not sure what ship i would go with.

I think it's the whole—

—thing that reminds me of Sam the most, like the scene with Quinn and the promise ring, and him "marrying" Brittany. Sam is definitely not scared of commitment. He also wouldn't be scared of having a star-crossed lovers sort of relationship, he'd stand up for his relationship no matter who was in opposition.

I'm thinking a M/M ship simply for the more taboo nature of it, maybe a Blam AU?

Taylor Time again! Debut album time. Also, I'm so excited about the eras tour! it's gonna be my first time seeing Taylor live and I'm probably never gonna shut up about it

Tim McGraw: Lumax. "He said the way my blue eyes shined put those Georgia stars to shame that night. I said that's a lie." Max wouldn't know what to do with a genuine compliment like that. "I was right there beside him all summer long. And then the time we woke up find that summer gone" The whole chorus too. Max thinks of the dance for her happiness. Being with Lucas. Picture To Burn: El. This one is all headcannon. But I think Joyce would get scary-angry over a bad breakup like this and I think El would pick that up the longer she's with her. Same from Max. We've seen her get angry already, during season 2 especially. I don't think she'd be like this with Mike, but with whoever she dates after (if it isn't Max). I also love the line "my daddy's gonna show you how sorry you'll be" and the fact that Hopper is overprotective of her

Teardrops On My Guitar: Steddie. I had to. My favorite trope is Steve talking about his crush on Eddie as a way to flirt, but being slightly vague (like, "they've got the best curly hair") and Eddie just not connecting the dots.

Tied Together with a Smile: Platonic Stobbin. They are both extremely strong, brave, important characters who put themselves down so much. I also can imagine them saying the chorus to each other. But the first part is about Robbin. She puts herself down a lot in season 4, talking about how she know she can be too much and that she's awkward. Second part is Steve and how he goes above and beyond for all his people. Especially the line "I guess it's true that love was all you wanted, cause you're giving it away like it's extra change"

Stay Beautiful: Ronance. I love the idea of Robin calling Nancy her "beauty." Like "Sorry, I can't pick up another shift, I have to see my beauty" But also, I think Nancy would deal with some impostor syndrome and imagine Robin there to help her through it. "it's hard to make a conversation when (s)he's taking my breath away" Even if they never date, Robin would tell her she's beautiful

Should've Said No: Stancy. Enough said tbh

Mary's Song: Byler. "I looked at you like the stars that shine in the sky" "take me back to the house in the backyard tree" and Castle Byers. "The time we had our very first fight...you stayed outside till the morning light" This whole song is about marrying your childhood best friend

Our Song: (fun fact; this is the first Taylor song I ever heard) Jopper. This one is also all headcannon. I think they dated in high school and had a very similar thing to the Nancy-Steve-Jonathan thing. I can imagine a young Hopper sneaking to Joyce's room and them having quiet conversations like with Steve and Nancy. Then them getting back together now and reminiscing about their high school dates.

I'm Only Me When I'm With You: Platonic Stobbin again. They would so spend their Friday nights off work with each other. "Living in a crazy world, trying to figure out what is and isn't true" "I don't try to hide my tears, the secrets, or my biggest fears" Robin came out to Steve even though she was terrified "Nobody gets me like you do"

Invisible: Pre-Jancy. They likely knew each other kinda well through their brothers and I think Jon had been crushing on her for a bit. He would likely see her with Steve and think they wouldn't be a good fit. I can also really see this being from Barb's point of view

A Perfectly Good Heart: Lumax, from Lucas's point of view. After the first real break up - after Billy - Lucas is hurt. He's confused and angry but he doesn't want to hurt Max. More than anything, he's confused. He understands Max is going through a lot, and doesn't want to add anymore onto her plate, but he thought he could be there for her at least.
