Hello!! Sorry if this is a little something out of your wheelhouse but I keep seeing people say Yana said in a tweet that the Twst’s story will continue after the current main story arc. Do you know if she actually said it or have a link to that tweet? It feels like an urban legend and idk if I can believe it without seeing it for myself. Thanks if you get around to answering this and if not then have a good night/afternoon/morning!
Hello hello! Thank you for this question!
There has been no explicit statement released by Yana, Aniplex or anyone on the direction of the main story (that I have been able to find), which makes sense!
According to the interviews we have, plans/ideas/characters are changing all the time behind the scenes (sometimes long after development has begun), so someone saying "these are our plans for the future!" at any time would be very unwise. It is a volatile industry!
Proving that something has happened is much easier than proving something has not (which is likely why a lot of these rumors get so popular), but I can certainly share the things that we know have been said! ^^
I reviewed the two official interviews that Yana has given on Twst, one published in the Magical Archives game guide in 2020 and one posted to the Apple Store in 2023, and here are all the comments that might be meant to relate to future endeavors!
・"I wrote this story with the intention of developing mutual understandings through such clashes. So no matter where this story goes, it will never be about forgiveness or saving someone."
・"I would like to have raid battles where players fight together. The theme of the game is 'making problem children cooperate with each other,' so I feel that such an addition to the gameplay would allow us to better feel the growth of the characters."
・"I would also like to collaborate with other Disney productions. The characters in 'Twisted Wonderland' are also Disney characters, so I don't know if collaboration is the right word."
・"I would also like to continue to dress the characters up in gorgeous outfits. I have so many ideas for what kind of fashion I want them to wear, what kind of makeup I want them to try…there are so many things I want to do."
・"As long as villains are the basis for these characters, I think it is important that they never become overly good people."
・"However, I am sure that more and more events are going to be held in the future, so I am wondering if parallel and ‘if’ worlds are going to start appearing."
・"The text of the first book is 35,000 Japanese characters long but book 6 has over 250,000. Up until about book 3 users are still getting to know the characters, so we prioritized helping people come to understand the world of Twst and keeping things compact. After the game was released, however, it felt like people were reading much more deeply into the story than we had anticipated. So now I include much more information than was provided during those setup chapters."
・Going forward things are going to be on a much larger scale, incorporating not only the vertical and horizontal axes of the story but also expanding upon elements such as a present, past and future. Look forward to Book 7 (currently on chapter 2)!
・"We will continue to develop this game that emphasizes the spirit of villains that cannot be discouraged, and we hope that our users will continue to enjoy it.”
・"Thank you so much for playing Twisted Wonderland. We will continue to do our best to make this game into something that can add a little more fun and color to your daily lives."
I have seen fan-rumors before of maybe an RSA arc, or perhaps the 4th years being introduced, or even the current class graduating to welcome a new wave of 1st-year students, but they are all unproven theories ^^ Very fun to think about, but unofficial!

The Dangers and Flaws of Idolization: A NEO TWEWY analysis post
Transplanting and expanding on a thread I made on Twitter to fit within a Tumblr format.
One of the most interesting aspects I see in NEO TWEWY that I don’t see many people touch upon is the commonality between Rindo, Fret, and Shoka in how they look up to others as role models while simultaneously being blind to their flaws/who they actually are up to the end and how the game's themes are reflected in those relationships and today, I'd like to showcase why.
Tumblr media
First, we have Rindo and Motoi. With that relationship, the game makes it pretty clear that Rindo looked up to Motoi as An0ther and used his words as encouragement to get through his own daily life and anxiety. The kid could barely decide what he could even eat for dinner before he had come across the account, so if you thought his current indecisiveness nature was bad, he was even worse before the events of the game.
Tumblr media
However, what I find interesting is that even though he constantly spouts An0ther's sayings in an attempt to try and steel himself for the challenges he faces, he thoughtlessly does so and only lives by the sayings half-heartedly, since his indecisive nature and fear of responsibility prevent him from committing all the way. I think it's telling that despite claiming that "don't miss your chance to make a friend" is one of his favorite quotes, he's constantly at odds with the idea of bringing potentially new players on board the team even before he gets the chance to properly know/meet them and grimaces at the thought of the structure of the old Reaper's Game in the original.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Keep in mind that Beat saved Rindo's life at the hands of Susukichi at least two whole days ago before this occurrence.
Nagi’s Dive into his head on W1D3 actually does a LOT to reveal aspects of his character: he puts other people at arm’s length (besides Swallow due to their online anonymity) because he’s afraid of the fallout of what would to happen if he got involved with them.
"What if I end up taking on more than I can handle? What if other people end up dragging me down with them? If I just stay at the sidelines and shift the blame onto others, I won’t get into trouble for this."
"I'm in a group project; everybody is contributing and making decisions about how we should go about doing things. I keep my mouth shut and refrain from pitching in despite maybe thinking some of their ideas misses the point of the assignment, because God forbid my ideas could be helpful (or maybe they won't; that's life, but I won't know unless i speak up). We end up handing in our project and whoops, we got a C-. I guess I'm not responsible for receiving that grade because I never made a decision, therefore I shouldn't be accountable for my lack of contribution. It just makes sense."
If you've known/are a person that have had similar thoughts to this mindset, then congrats; you know/are a Rindo Kanade in real life.
Tumblr media
This culminates into him latching onto others he finds capable and taking the relationships around him for granted, tying other people's worth to their prowess in might or influence. After all, why bother relying on yourself and others when you can just rely on someone else for you to solve your problems? Especially since it means that if everything goes south, YOU won’t take the fallout for it. After all, they’re clearly much more capable than you are.
To get back to his dynamic with Motoi, Rindo looks up to him immensely after finding out that he was his idol an0ther and came to value his input regarding matters within the Game. So when he eventually finds out the truth and is forced to confront the fact that his hero was nothing more than a content thief and a schemer who would trample over others just to survive, he’s understandably heartbroken.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, instead of just leaving it there, the game decides to flip the script and have Motoi legitimately apologize to Rindo for his actions, leading to the lad in question learning to recognize that Motoi is ultimately an incredibly flawed human being instead of just writing him off entirely, (even giving him another chance!) and is, in many ways, a mirror to Rindo. Like Rindo, Motoi was deathly afraid of responsibility and the fallout of letting other people down, leading to him copying and pasting other people's quotes so that he wouldn't have to face that possibility. This aspect of himself only got worse when he got trapped in the Reaper's Game for multiple loops on end, forcing him to become a worse version of himself, lying, cheating, and backstabbing just to survive and even looking towards becoming part of the Reapers, the same group that trapped him there in the first place, just so he wouldn't have to be Erased, un a manner that's eerily reminiscent to how Rindo would took towards overly relying on others so that he would make it out okay. In that sense, Motoi is a look at what a grown-up Rindo would look like if he didn't take the lessons he learned within the Game to heart, which is part of why the latter decides to take Motoi’s copypasted quotes and apply them to his life in a positive way, deriving his own meaning from them so that in a way that contrasts him following them in a shallow manner from before.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next up, we have Fret and Kanon, who form a interesting parallel to Rindo and Motoi's dynamic. Whereas Motoi is a look at one of the worst possible paths that Rindo could take if he didn't learn how to properly deal with his flaws, Kanon actually tries to coach Fret into becoming more true to and genuine with his actual self. She also shows herself to be a genuinely affable and honorable person even in spite of the bad first impression that she had given at the beginning of the game by stealing Rindo and Fret's pin for herself.
However, that's only the surface level stuff, as the game actually goes deeper with her character. While Kanon at first seems to be true to herself and genuine at her core in a way that Fret isn’t, we can see from the Dive into her head on W3D3 that she’s holding back a LOT underneath the surface.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"You always did have a way of destroying things" tends to get glossed over by some and for those who do look at the words, they seemingly come out of nowhere and can be seemingly brushed off as her just being under the influence of the Plague Noise. However , when you look back at some of Kanon’s actions and her words towards the Twisters (accusing the Twisters of sabotaging Fuya and making Motoi drop out of the Scramble Slam against his will, her mood changing when she finds out about Fuya challenging the Ruinbringers in one timeline as opposed to her more cheerful attitude towards Fret when she didn't find that out just yet, her acting suspicious towards the Twisters regarding their prowess as a team, etc), the implication is that she doesn’t just resent the game as a whole but also secretly the Twisters as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The thing about the Player teams is that they have formed an unspoken agreement where the top 3 teams (sans Ruinbringers of course) keep their footing by sending new players and other teams to last place, which the Wicked Twisters screw up just by existing. Their synergy and impressive Imagination powers (well, Fret, Nagi, and Sho’s at least) threaten the balance the teams have struggled to keep up for so long, hence why Kanon initially just sees them as another team to point snipe before she changes her mind on them. And while the Twisters do almost bring about change by beating the Ruinbringers, it ultimately doesn’t even matter in the long-run due to how incredibly rigged the Shinjuku game is and as a result, the DRS are eliminated, getting rid of Kanon’s and Motoi’s safety net.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imagine this from the players’ perspective: you’re stuck in essentially what is a never-ending death game but you’ve got a system going where you can at least stave off your deaths for a bit longer. Then a couple of kids come around and throw that whole system entirely out of whack. And you think, "well, at least they can take out the top team and give us a fighting chance, right?" Only for those hopes to also get dashed because the rules are just that rigged. Like Kubo said, life ain’t fair and the afterlife sure as hell ain’t either. W1D5 and W2D4 are excellent explorations of this kind of mindset as it showcases the player teams falling victim to their desires and abusing their powers as a result of being stuck in an endless loop of playing the Game over and over again with no hope of escaping, as well as highlights paints certain comments made by the leaders in an even darker light.
With all of this in mind, it’s honestly no wonder that Kanon resents the Twisters but what’s interesting is that she tries to keep this resentment under wraps because she knows that it isn’t fair to them. They’re just kids after all who would have no idea about all of that. Hence why she admonishes herself in her Dive for wishing that they had just wipe out the Reapers altogether and why Fret is shown to be hurt hearing her inner thoughts about the Twisters in a way that’s pretty reminiscent of Rindo’s reaction when he found out about Motoi.
Tumblr media
And finally, we have Shoka and Ayano. While it’s pretty clear that the two do genuinely care for one another, it’s a relationship that’s been tragically scarred by the events surrounding Shinjuku and the Reapers in general, resulting in a mutually unhealthy dynamic.
Tumblr media
What I find interesting about the relationship is that while Shoka gets pissed whenever Rindo insinuates that Ayano must’ve treated her badly, she sadly realizes in another convo that she doesn’t know much about Ayano on a personal level or what her interests even are.
Tumblr media
In spite of how close they are and how much they mean to each other, Ayano still put up emotional walls and closed herself off, never allowing herself to be on equal footing to Shoka and instead just be someone who guides and mentors her over the 4 years they were together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is due to her feeling betrayed by Shiba/others while simultaneously using Shoka as her one stable point in life regardless because everything is going up into chaos surrounding the Shinjuku Reapers and she finds herself unable to trust anyone around her anymore. And Shoka herself doesn't even realize this until the end when it’s too late because she was just happy to simply have Ayano by her side without thinking deeper about her and their relationship as a whole due to her own emotional issues and troubled past.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When it comes to children from broken homes, they are prone to imprinting on any adult figure that interacts positively with them and in Shoka's case, this is exactly what she did with the Shinjuku Reapers, especially Ayano.
Tumblr media
A running theme throughout all of these instances is how they all involve the younger generation looking up to the adults in their lives as idols as opposed to just role models and thus fail to see them for who they are as actual human beings. And by the time they that finally do, it's too late for the adults.
You also see nods towards this theme via the Shinjuku Reapers and their relationship with Shiba or Shiba’s (who himself is parallel to Rindo if his tendency to subconsciously take on the values of others and mistake his as his own was twisted into the worst possible outcome) relationship with Kubo, with Hishima even flat out stating as such. "You fell at the feet of an idol like an utter fool", indeed.
And this all fits, as well, into NEO's larger theme that even as a 'follower', you have to question the 'leader'. Role models aren't bad -- but idols and failing to recognize their limits/flaws/toxicity are and will end up screwing you over in the long run if you aren’t careful. And I think NEO did an excellent job at exploring the little nuances that come with that, from Kanon’s internal resentment she knew wasn’t fair to the unseen distance between Ayano and Shoka to Motoi being a complete deconstruction of it all. It shows the good and the bad of idolizing someone too much. It shows how you can see the real them and turn the image you liked into something more with Rindo, or how to hold them in your heart while moving on like Shoka. It's okay to acknowledge the flaws and shortcomings of the people you look up to. Hell, it’s probably healthy to do that in some ways. As long as they’re still a good person or even helped you grow, you can still celebrate the good they brought

If You Don't Know About Project 2025, You Need To.
For the uninformed, Project 2025 is a plan drafted by a conservative alt-right think tank that would turn America into an autocratic dystopia in the event that Trump wins the 2024 election. The plan would begin execution IMMEDIATELY upon Trump's innaguration, and includes actions such as the following:
Trump would recieve near-unlimited powers as president and would essentially become a fascist dictator.
Using this power, he would invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 to mobilize military forces and hunt down anyone he deems to be his enemies (the plan specifically states "deep state politicians", but who he regards as his enemies could expand to generally anyone who opposes him).
Project 2025 pretty much spells the end for LGBTQIA+ rights, with the removal of protections against discrimination and healthcare as the beginning of the plan, but would eventually include the criminalization of anyone who "appears" gender-nonconforming or doesn't fit a heterosexual stereotype. Transgender individuals would be forced to detransition, or at the very least, present themselves as their gender assigned at birth, and any non-heterosexual couples would have their marriages annulled (at the very best), or may even be imprisoned. There's so much more that would occur along the lines of destroying LGBTQIA+ rights, but these are some major points I wanted to highlight.
On the topic of diversity rights, the document has evidence that Trump could begin deporting non-white individuals (mostly Latinx people, but anyone is fair game) and as a whole, rights for any non-white individuals would go by the wayside.
Furthermore, women's rights would also be abolished, with discrimination against women in the workplace returning and reproductive rights being thrown out. Abortion would become criminalized under this new policy, and women would lose automony over their bodies and decisions.
Most of the current administrative branch would be demolished, with current departments like the Department of Education, Department of Justice, and FBI being shut down, and others having their power either significantly limited or replaced with Trump's own conservative infiltrators.
Speaking of which, while this project doesn't technically go into effect until Trump's potential election, the steps are already being made. Alt-right individuals and supporters can sign up on Project 2025's Website to officially join certain jobs and become apart of the project's officially sanctioned militia that could execute Trump's bidding.
If all of this seems very scary, it should be. If Trump gets elected, we would see the end of American democracy and freedom, and the country would transform into a fascist dystopia. If you think this only affects Americans, think again! Other alt-right parties in other countries can and will take example from Trump's power and push for the abolishment of freedom in other countries as well.
So. What can you do?
I hope this doesn't need to be said, but if it does, then VOTE. If you were planning to not vote, then by taking that inaction you are effectively making an action that could spell the destruction of our nation. If you are voting age, you MUST cast your vote against Trump to ensure that Project 2025 will not go into effect.
You can also spread the word to friends, whether that be in person or online. Reblog this post, or make your own posts. Make sure that this information is circulated in your online circles and encourage others to share more information wherever you can. Talk about it on all of your social media profiles and get all of your mutuals talking about it as well. Unfortunately, there's a huge subset of the internet that just isn't aware about Project 2025, but if we get the word out and encourage as many people as we can to take action against this manifesto, then we may be able to save our nation. Again, even if you're not American, this policy could impact you in the future, and you can share information for your own online audience and inform your American followers about the issue. It's very important that we get as many people talking about this as possible.
I hope this post motivates you to take action and begin sharing information about Project 2025, and if you would like more resources I've linked articles and resources for you below.

So new things are coming up from miss singer and other people, la girl is a pretty b to be honest..if some friend do that to me i would be so pissed..she ruined singers and colbys friendship or something they had just to bring her bestie m girl into it all. What a friend she is omg. If i was in love with some guy and my friend did this..i would be so goddamn ANGRY. And the fact that she dont want to talk about this says it all, shes hurt..
Ok, I have seen a lot of random shit being flung around about this entire situation and the players involved over the last few days. Like, I haven't seen such a wild day around these parts since malishkagate '22 lol.
Here's the thing - I actually caught Ms Singer live on tiktok by random chance the other day. I was just scrolling through watching Little House on the Prairie tiktoks (leave me alone) and there she was.
When I came upon her, she was being bombarded with questions about M, Sam and LA Girl, and, for some weird reason, Stas. The Stas question was actually what got to her and she proceeded to give out the following "purely hypothetical" synopsis of events:
She had a group of people she considered friends (M was not one of them from my understanding). A guy came into the mix of this friendgroup, and her friends did something "messed up" to her in relation to this guy. Whatever went down with her friends hurt her, but she doesn't want to give out details and she is sick of people coming in to her chats every day and mentioning the names of the people she doesn't consider friends anymore and asking her to expand on this.
Now, from what I understand, she did mention in a previous live that she had a crush on a guy and her friends knew it and worked behind her back to get her pushed out of the friendgroup this guy was in. I did not see that particular live, so I cannot 100% corroborate that statement, but that is the previous story going around. This story is similar enough to that one that I will give it some form of credence, with the understanding that what we are getting here is one side of the story told in a very vague manner, so there are still many gaps to be filled in.
Anyway, a little while later, she was asked how she met Sam and Colby and she gave this statement (and I transcribed this verbatim): "I knew of them because I knew Katrina. Katrina and I were signed to the same label, so I knew of them, but we never talked. And then, um...in Septemberish, uh...we all went to a like...I'm trying to think of how to like...I don't know. Colby and I became friends and we went to Universal Studios and that was that."
As a sidenote, I highlighted two important phrases out of that - Ms Singer herself claiming that she did not really know snc until September. That means anything pertaining to Ms Singer knowing or dating Colby in March is just categorically untrue, so that's at least one rumor cleared up right there.
But back to LA Girl: I know a lot of things have been said and alleged about her the last couple of days. I cannot 100% prove most of that stuff one way or another, so I'm not even going to speculate. The fans have gone into desperation mode and are now coming up with all kinds of off the wall stuff, some of which I do know is 100% false (Colby having been with Ms Singer since March being one of them), so I've gone into a "do not trust until you can verify" mode right now and that's that.
That being said, I did hear this information come directly from Ms Singer's mouth myself, and in the interest of making sure more misinformation doesn't spread, wanted to share.
It sounds messy, and it sounds very much like these aren't the kind of friends you'd want in your lives - but some of what is going around is just...whew. Pump the brakes.
Pallette cleanser: I'd cast Topher Grace to play Sam in the soap opera adaptation of all this.

I'm Redefining How I Practice Manifestation
I wanted to start off this article by thanking everyone that has been supporting me so far. It means a lot to know that people like reading my blog and to be connecting with like-minded people. I kinda wanted to expand upon the last post so I'll link it if you haven't already read:
Why Manifestation Isn't an Exact Science
I've been doing a lot of reflection lately and it's crazy to see how much I've grown since I began practicing manifestation 3 1/2 years ago. When I first discovered manifestation, I immersed myself in this new way of life. I applied manifestation to getting a specific person (SP), career, health, friends, and many more. I had manifested so many things I had wanted, but not in the way I had imagined.
There are so many people that preach about don't give up, don't ever take no for an answer, keep persisting. Less commonly do I see people discuss walking away from situations and people that no longer serve you.
I don't want to sound like a pessimist. I do believe in manifestation. I've proven it works time and time again, but I've also applied manifestation to everything and everyone to the point I became overwhelmed. I used to affirm affirm affirm all day long, to the point I wasn't focusing on much else other than my manifestations. I used to ignore the 3D and suppress my emotions to the point that I couldn't anymore. I used to blame myself every time someone treated me poorly because of everyone is you pushed out (EIYPO) or maybe something is wrong with my self concept or maybe I have some limiting beliefs to work through. Yes, these can be true, but it's also important to recognize sometimes the way someone treats you has everything to do with them and nothing to do with you.
This past January, I had a moment where I became so burnt out I couldn't keep actively affirming to control every situation, every person, every outcome. Instead, I decided to control how do I perceive things when they happen so I don't spiral. Some events I look back on in a neutral lens, rather than a negative lens. I'm evaluating what did I learn from this instead of this happened to me. I'm learning to go with the flow a bit more, and focus on myself. Once I let go, stopped worrying about manifesting this and that, controlling this person and that outcome, took a breather, and started doing things that made me happy, it's allowed me to naturally attract more positive people and events into my life. I saw a quote on FB awhile back: as soon as you choose YOU everything else chooses you too. And for now, this is how I'm manifesting, by nurturing my relationship with myself first and foremost. This has allowed me so much growth. I've come to a place where I finally love myself and am finding enjoyment in my life.
I hope this made sense. I hope it helps you and provides comfort you're not alone on your spiritual journey. If you made it this far, please consider liking, following, and sharing. Even if I reach one person, I'm happy to be helping that one person and making a difference. <3

hiiiiii this is such a silly question but as the premiere kory enjoyer do u have recommended kory readings? i've only read her in some of her team comics (like ntt and outsiders etc) but i was wondering if she had any standout issues. i trust ur opinion most of all
HI ELLAAAA. I know this isn't exactly what you asked for but just for future reference @/princesskoriandr made the definitive Kory reading list right here.
I'm linking this because you are not going to like my answer to this which is that upwards of 90% of the Kory writing worth reading and taking at all seriously happened in NTT 😭 Like I hate to say it but even with all the issues of racism and misogyny irt her character as written by Wolfman, you're basically always losing SOME degree of nuance or interiority (or just overall interest in exploring her as a character) with essentially any other writer.
It's also been too long since I read any of it for me to remember individual issue numbers off of the top of my head 💀 BUT on a quick skim of that reading list (and assuming you've read at least the very beginning of NTT), I will recommend:
NTT v1: #16, #22-25 + Annual 1 (this arc introduces Komand'r and just expands their lore + that of Tamaran, the greater Vega system, etc), #26 (this is like the aftermath + when Dick and Kory officially start dating I believe)
Tales of the NTT v1 #4 (BIIIIIIG Kory backstory lore dump. Very important.)
NTT v2: #6 (This is the beginning of an arc I don't really remember and don't really care about. Just scroll through the issue until you see Kory wearing the "WE LOVE GAR" shirt and then read everything she says bc I love that scene LMAO), #13-19 (this is the dreaded Kory political marriage arc where Dick loses his nasty mind and he is hella racist to her basically the whole time but you do learn a lot about Tamaran and Kory's family etc. Funnily enough this segues directly into tiny Jason's temporary stint on the team cause everyone was having a mental breakdown.), #22-23 (extension + conclusion of that arc), #39 (literally just koryraven yuri. literally.)
Teen Titans Spotlight: #1-2 (Kory has a journey of self discovery after stumbling upon Apartheid South Africa. You could not make this shit up.), #19 (this is an event tie in but it's also like 100% A Day In The Life of Kory <3)
I'm going to recommend from New Titans very sparingly and with caveats as this is when they started running out of ideas and eventually did a backflip into the garbage disposal but: #71 (Titans Hunt arc is not fucking important but I recommend the first issue purely for reflections on dickkory), #97-109 (I KNOW this is big but bear with me. This is dickkory falling apart to marriage to falling apart again era + koryraven yuri part 2. Literally just skim everything until you see Kory. The actual wedding issue is #100 and after Demon Raven crashes it Kory gets like, possessed/impregnated by a piece of her soul or something and you see the psychological repercussions of that in the background of the succeeding issues until she blasts off in 108, and then 109 is KYNASF'RR. The issue that singlehandedly justifies the existence of New Titans for me. If nothing else read that one. You can keep reading/skimming until #114 if you want but not super necessary it gets. Weird. Basically Kory and Dick just mutually separately realize their relationship is inhibiting their growth as people 😭 #114 is their official breakup issue. Or it would be if Kory didn't stand him up when they were supposed to talk about it on account of not really wanting to see him LMAO.), and #127-130 is one of those arcs that is just confusing to read if you haven't been following everything going on with all the characters involved Lmfao BUT it's another Kory/Tamaran arc and the one where Tamaran goes the way of Alderaan so. Relevant. Raven is still inside Kory also during this time LMAO.
I would NOT recommend reading Titans 99 for any character other than Garth Lmfao BUT #47-50 of that book is an arc centered on her that's like... passable.
She's in Teen Titans v3 as a mentor character but I find that book horribly fucking boring so I haven't read most of it but the popular panels of her tending a garden of Tamaranean plants is from #7
Convergence: New Teen Titans #1&2 is good and also basically functions as a recap of why dickkory did not work out even though in this universe ironically it does. Lmfao
Other than that.... yeah. She's in Outsiders and Titans v2 but the sad fact of the matter is that if Kory isn't on the lineup of a team book, she's relegated to essentially a cameo character, and if shes on a team book that isn't from the NTT era, she's unavoidably going to be mischaracterized, sidelined, flattened, possibly character assassinated, or just generally not prioritized for storylines and character development or treated as a nuanced and multidimensional character.

Lion Guard: Roar Towards the Future
It's like 3am so I'll be quick in my little self-promo, but yeah, for any of my followers who are in the LK/LG fandom, check out my new Lion Guard fanfic on my Ao3 account, Roar Towards the Future.
RTtF takes place after the events of The Lion Guard's series finale Return to the Pride Lands and centers around the Lion Guard as they adjust to their new lives outside of the Pridelands and how said lives affect them when they reach adulthood. The main intent of the fanfic was basically me choosing to cope with my disappointment of The Lion Guard's final season and ending by expanding upon the characters and their stories after the show, most prominently the controversial character of Rani and by extension, her Night Pride, in that they will have a much larger [and more deserved] role as the deuteragonist than she did in the second half of Season 3.
This fic is somewhat canon-divergent as some events of The Lion Guard as well as its prequel, The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, go differently in my AU than they do in canon [the original film's events remain largely unchanged]. There will also be characters from the semi-canon fodder appearing/being mentioned such as Mufasa and Scar's parents, Ahadi & Uru, and many of the non-lion characters from the comics.
I've been working on this story since January of 2023 and I've felt like enough chapters have been written ahead of time for me to go ahead and start uploading them to Ao3 and getting more people to view it:
I don't know how many chapters this'll have, but we'll see how far it gets:
Disclaimer: Despite TLG being a kids' show, this fic will be rated teen and up for mature topics [inclusive but not restrictive to violence, death, murder, blood, abuse, suicide, and profanity - There's obviously nothing proshippy in it, or anything written to be proshippy in this fic - I'll put trigger warnings if and when necessary].

(Yo’, it’s me; college has been going fine [if very stressful and close to giving me a heart-attack], just wanted to check how you’re doing now that the new Volume is out)
Your post about Jaune NOT getting written out of the narrative and stuff like that always keeps putting the rest of the fandom that I see in perspective, because it always seems like 3/5’s of them only ever take things directly and without much foresight, and the other 2/5’s just want a whole bunch of petty wish-fulfillment without taking the greater narrative into consideration or how it might genuinely affect things going forward. It’s like, they don’t see the fact that he has clear and tangible attachments to the rest of the cast who are out in Vacuo and how fucking abrupt it would be for him to just drop out of the plot in the middle of the story. Like, do they just expect Nora and Ren and Winter and Oscar and everyone else to just ACCEPT the fact that he’s no longer with them anymore, just like that? Are they just going to allow Cinder to play second-fiddle rival to Ruby? I’m really thankful that you’re always willing to take a step back and try to observe the grander picture, even if we are both a little biased to try and see the Knightfall threads. I also want you to know that, regardless of whatever happens in the show itself, that I (and hopefully a lot of others) will always stand on the Knightfall train wholeheartedly. Hope you’re doing well, yourself, btw.
It’s like, they don’t see the fact that he has clear and tangible attachments to the rest of the cast who are out in Vacuo and how fucking abrupt it would be for him to just drop out of the plot in the middle of the story.
I mean, I don't mean to be rude but they're taking the story at face value because that's how they're used to interacting with storytelling. Thing A happen, so Thing A happen the same way again. Narrative event is threatened, narrative event will play out exactly the way you expect it to. Jaune is sad, Jaune will be sad forever and written out.
To some degree, this is what storytellers rely on; being surprised is fun. The problem is that some people get offended by surprise now, and that's a different tin of worms to deal with.
I’m really thankful that you’re always willing to take a step back and try to observe the grander picture, even if we are both a little biased to try and see the Knightfall threads.
I personally enjoy considering the picture with or without Knightfall, it just so happens that it can be asserted on textual terms. I know you're being jocular, I just think it's interesting how it's considered a bias but Jaune/Weiss isn't.
I think you've otherwise made good points here I can't really otherwise expand upon. He has too many narrative ties. Cinder has more to do in the story, as Ruby opens up her own darker interior. The exciting question is how Jaune gets out of this.
I think people have lost the language to articulate suspension.
It's very kind of you to send this message, and thank you for checking in with me. I wasn't doing so hot. You never know whose day you could make though, because I got the gumption to check my inbox because I had some lovely interactions the other day that made me feel less scared.
I just assume no one likes my posts lol.
Good luck with college and hope you're doing better on that front. Remember to take it easy, a five minute break can make all the difference, and an extra 20% of effort can make an 80% improvement.

Tears of the Kingdom highlighted Breath of the Wild's strengths as well as its weaknesses
Tumblr media
Now, this is really just gonna be a big ramble, but basically now that we're a long way out from Tears of the Kingdom's release I have some thoughts about the series' trajectory and where it seems like it's headed, as well as some thoughts about areas I'd like to see them shore up in future installments.
The "Timeline" Has Been Thrown Out
Ok, so this one has been acknowledged quite a bit, but it bears digging into a bit more. Aonuma has confirmed that, with regards to the older games, they aren't really looking back at them anymore. For better or worse, it seems like future installments in the Zelda series will only make superficial references to past titles, and will primarily concern themselves with the larger figures in the series' mythos (i.e. Zelda, Link, Ganondorf, Impa, etc.). Now, I don't think this is inherently a bad thing; leaning more into the idea that the "Legend of Zelda" truly is a "legend" and whose parts aren't set in stone can be extremely interesting. In fact, I would say if they want to go this way, leaning into the commedia dell'arte nature of this series (where certain names call to mind certain roles and personalities) would be a good way to go. However... Direct Sequels Are a Bad Idea
With Tears of the Kingdom's release, we finally saw how a Zelda game in the modern age would handle a direct sequel and... it didn't handle it very well. While certain aspects were clear in their continuity (such as Zelda and the various sages' character growths), the absence of clearer continuity were fairly disappointing to a number of people (myself included). One more noticeable aspect of this is the vast number of NPCs with whom Link has had many dealings in the previous game simply not recognizing him at all. While this was likely done to ensure new players weren't confused by old references, it was extremely jarring and wound up cheapening what could have been a sort of victory lap for returning players. All that being the case, I would rather the series stayed away from direct sequels from here on out if this is going to be their approach to them. I'd rather they focus on standalone titles than whatever this slapdash attempt at a sequel was. The Story CANNOT Happen in the Past for a Third Time
Alright, this one is the biggest for me. While Tears of the Kingdom definitely put more of its story in the present than Breath of the Wild, the vast majority of it was still events that had already transpired. And that is getting extremely tiresome. Whatever the next game does, the "flashback" approach to storytelling has outstayed its welcome.
More of Tears of the Kingdom's Successes
I don't want this to come across like I hated the game (I honestly consider it a series favorite now), especially because there are a number of areas that I think it succeeded. The final boss sequence was a return to form we haven't really seen since Twilight Princess, and it was staggeringly perfect. The return to more hand-crafted dungeons was welcome, as were the moments when the main story really railroaded the player along a certain path (e.g. the early and late game).
Whatever the next game holds (all we know is it will almost certainly be another open world adventure), this aspects are all things I'd like to see expanded upon. The final boss sequence was phenomenal, keep that energy up. The dungeons were wonderful, give us more of them. The story-driven sequences were mesmerizing, don't be afraid to railroad the player if it means telling a more impactful story.
And Finally: Listen to People
This is a bit more amorphous, and I generally don't like the idea of developers capitulating to every moan and groan from a fandom, but here's the deal: the negative murmurings about Breath of the Wild's direction have only gotten louder since Tears of the Kingdom's release. Fans do need to recognize that the more linear days of Zelda are most likely behind us and no amount of complaints will change that. On the flipside, the developers should pay attention to what precisely people are complaining about. The one refrain I hear over and over with this game is that "the story was good, but the lore got so much less interesting."
I know I said above that they're tossing out the timeline, but I think it would behoove them to remember that a large amount of Zelda fan content is based on the series' interconnectedness and its larger lore. If they're going to toss that out in favor of more standalone stories, they need to craft those stories carefully and deliberately. Otherwise, the decision to leave the previous games' lore in the past may not be the wisest decision. EDIT: Just wanted to add to my last point, a big part of this is that a massive part of Breath of the Wild's staying power after 2017 was because fans were interested in its world and lore, and several months out from Tears of the Kingdom's release and that interest is not even remotely similar. This iteration of Hyrule, and the new features added in the Zonai and presence of the Secret Stones and sages, got dropped by the fandom almost immediately. The enthusiasm that surrounded the lore and worlds of previous games just... isn't there. And that could become a problem.

Because of the oc ask, I figured I'd give you a comprehensive list of the typical things I do for writing inspiration, how I usually write things, and what goes through my brain as I write and develop ideas and characters. Feel free to pass around and jump in.
I'll usually always want to find a pic but mainly a gif of the character I'm writing about for both headcanons and actual stories for inspiration as I work, like visualizing their expressions morph to the scene I'm thinking of (the gif helps with this immensely). In other words, jumping off the canon page into my own vision. Two gifs if I can help it at the most-one for the beginning of the piece and one for the end, with different expressions portraying the fic's progression, but exuding a tone I'm going for in the piece itself (as an example, my yan!ts blurb was written before I thought of the gif placed at the end of it, which conveys an expression/similar action I visualized during the story, compared to the other yan!ts blurb that was inspired by the gif itself and was placed before the writing itself.).
Some of you may already know I used Sims 4 CAS for my OC reveal in one ask, and it was a lot of fun to do then since that game can have some stellar cc content (praise to all modders). But I also like playing dress-up/avatar creator games online for existing fictional characters or OCs to see how many details I can get accurate to the source material or my own concept; and, again, done in various art styles so win for variety. Really aids me in adding more or different details to my characters (yes, this is also an endorsement for Ambition's Dream Girlfriend and YES, you should play it. You legit get so many MR outfits for free in events and the gacha it's INSANE.).
Transcribing hand-written words to digital ones is something I'm recently trying again and is actually very helpful for my writing process. I'm the type of writer that tries to make every sentence perfect as I go along digitally, like writing and revising constantly, and I usually don't make that much traction in the long run when I have very few ideas or plotlines to begin with. Writing by hand not only makes me think more meticulously about exactly what I'm writing and how to word it, but also the bigger picture in general. I'm also less afraid to make mistakes on paper because when I go to transcribe it, I get lost in the scene again and end up adding more details I haven't thought of before due to already having the mental building blocks down. It's similar to physically stepping away from your work and literally seeing it in a new light- or format- in this case. Also, handwriting, while slow and tiring, is very therapeutic on the soul for me especially when I've stared at a screen for too long.
I go back and re-read my work ALL. THE. TIME. Sometimes it yields ideas, sometimes I edit one word or add another and close it. Other times, I have nothing to add. But most of the time, I pretend I'm pitching it to other people as I read through it. Helps me pick out problems within my own writing to re-explain things or expand upon another. It's a cruel mistress on top of a bad habit- I'm either my own hype guy or my own worst critic, usually not accomplishing much of anything in terms of actually writing something.
I can easily stare at a gif or pic or amv for hours and sit there doing nothing but daydreaming, planning out the entire fic in my brain, and then measly writing a plot outline and never returning to it to flesh it out because I forgot most of the details and that I had technically already finished it in my head.
Like any true writer does, I keep all of my ideas no matter how shitty or out of place they are in the current document. I never know when I'll need it for a different scene or if I come up with something else it works much better with contextually. Or, y'know, when you get that fandom brain rot knocking on your door again.
I flip-flop a lot between adding details and taking them away. I initially try to add as many as possible that I think I can get away with without it being too overbearing before condensing it down later when the writing style doesn't justify it. More details help me paint the scene much better like the environment, character relationships, and senses, but including as much as I do on the regular is usually unnecessary. To include that much detail is really only helpful to me when I've been away from the piece for too long.
Most often I'll completely forget what I'm writing about and go off on a completely unrelated tangent that is vaguely connected to whatever I tried to do. Keeping it floating there in blank space as I re-write it again or revising pieces of it usually helps. See #6 for additional results.
In case no one who's seen my blog notices by now, I tend to be quirky when I talk about my writing; usually in a shitpost-esque style, and then the story/narration itself taking the concept either completely seriously or being aware of the batshit insanity of it all and rolling with it (see, uh, my yan!rpf headcanons for an ex. of this utter derailment.).
Of course I throw myself into my own writing situations, OC or no; what kind of self-indulgent writer doesn't? Also, what easier writing perspective you can write about than yourself?
Side note, being addicted to songs and playing them on loop while I happen to write occurs A LOT and isn't necessarily inspiration, but it certainly helps my mood and flow when it comes to writing.

peter parker x academic! reader
Tumblr media
okay but just imagine an adult Peter Parker, who’s been grieving for years, and he’s in his late 20s/early 30s now, and after the events of NWH he decides to get back to life and catch his dreams (by chance also meeting you, a soon-to-be scholar on his way) and everything finally feels better again??!???1
no warnings now, it’s just cute
sorta got inspired by Tick Tick... Boom! but honestly it’s the same picture, just less artistry. also sorry for any formal mistakes, i srsly still don't get how education in the US works, so i went with what wikipedia had to offer
~~~~~
When Peter comes back to his Queens, his New York, everything feels sort of different. For the first time in years he feels… hopeful. It’s like he’s finally re-found his purpose, he knows he’s not the only one with these experiences and that there’s light somewhere, above all the pain and grief and loss he- they’ve been through.
And so he decides to open up to the world again, not only as Spiderman but as Peter Parker too!
To May’s delight, he decides to go to college, maybe get a MA someday and to start investing in himself more.
I mean he’s nearly 30 now, and he knows he can and should put himself higher on the list if he wants to keep helping others, in one way or the other
Also, hearing all those kind words from other Peters made him realize that he deserves it. And he deserves to be happy again too
In college, he finds new friends, people who motivate him, who expand this interests, he’s passionate about chemistry all over again and it feels incredible
Also he gets a scholarship (!!!) and it’s almost like yet another sign that he should keep going
Even May notices that spark in his eyes when he attempts to explain her the subject he’s been working on lately
It’s almost like he’s that young teenage boy again, with all of these ideas, that newfound drive
That sparkle in his eyes got even brighter since after he’s met you
You bump into each other in the hallway one day, and nothing is the same after that
You’re met with his bouncy disheveled mop of hair that you’re almost jealous of. Also, surprisingly, he has no glasses, which seems wild for a student these days. Lucky bastard, you think to yourself, but he can’t help but think how prettyhotbeautiful and collected you look
He’s so sweet about it, apologises twice and explains that he’s just fast like that when he’s late and you tell him you’re running late too
You can practically feel butterflies soaring inside your stomach when you see his smile at that moment
Turns out both of you are late for the same class, but upon entering (he’s super polite and knocks first before letting you in and only then follows suit) he notices that while he’s already climbing up to one of the empty seats, you go for tutor’s desk
He’s instantly in love
Before the class he thought of dropping it cause it’s not mandatory for his field, but now he wants to see you as much as he can
He loves how passionate you get once the nervousness goes away and how freaking adorable you look while trying to get your presentation to work on that damn outdated equipment and still make it look super professional
He initiates the conversation in the cafeteria where he totally catches you off guard and you get slightly fidgety. But you soften slowly, you tell him about your studies, how this class is a part of your major, and the drive in you is so apparent in your movement and expressions that it makes him sheepish too
Makes him think that he’s missed a lot of time since you’re already on the way for a doctorate, but it becomes irrelevant even quicker cause he gets excited for the journey ahead of him
Mostly because of you
Also you mention that you’re only climbing higher cause it’ll allow you to share your knowledge with others, and he’s so proud of you, so in awe of you, it’s like you’ve known each other for years and he’s there to witness your success after years of hard work
And even though it's actually only your 7th cup of coffee this month, you get along so well he starts visiting you in the small office (broom closet, as you like to call it) with 2 takeaway coffees almost everyday
One day he sort of explains to you how he’s been through a lot and that’s why he never tried to seek something that’d be just for him
You keep telling him with that gentle smile of yours that “it’s never too late to start something new” and he wants to kiss you there and then
He still goes out at night, sometimes even during the day, to catch some robbers and help those who need it
But now he feels even more compassionate, more open and driven. He knows that one of these days you also might be out there, needing his help and he’ll bring you back the laptop or literally anything else some douchebag could potentially steal from you
Maybe he’ll get to tell you everything someday, he’ll think about it, there’s still time
But not now cause he’s already planning where he’s going to take you out on that date he promised you after your panel at the mid-semester conference
And he finally feels alive again
Aberforth was out of character.
I assume you mean in SoD. I don’t think that Aberforth was OOC.
One of the problems I always see in fandoms, when there are new additions to the story, is that people confuse canon with headcanons and interpretation. This is only natural, especially in fandoms that are decades old. We have thought a lot of these characters and we have certain idea of them in our head.
When we get new information about them, I try to take a step back and isolate as much as possible the book canon that is given directly to us from the way I’ve expanded upon it (from my headcanons). Then I try to see if the additional information feels authentic and plausible based on what we already knew.
So what do the books tell us of Aberforth?
He was irritable, rude, unsociable, he held his grudge and, as Sirius put it, he "has a long memory". I think that these aspects were present in the movie.
I think that what fans may question more is the relationship between Abeforth and Albus. Especially the fact that they were dining alone. My initial reaction was sceptical. But I don't think that it’s out of character. In fact it’s more consistent and more nuanced than anything I used to imagine before the movie.
In DH Aberforth’s butterness when speaking of Albus is palpable and many of the things he mentions are basically an attack to Albus’ character. One way to interpret this is by assuming that Aberforth downright hates Albus and does not want to forgive him. The other possible interpretation is that he cannot forgive him because he loves him.
Throughout his revelations Aberforth keeps repeating two points: He thinks that Albus looked down on him and that he did not care for the family. When we see the situation through Albus’ lense it seems that he did worry about Aberforth being the wayward brother and he had indeed trouble with sacrificing his potential to take care of the family. The main difference between the two narrations is that Albus’ stance had to do with the reasonable ambition that any charismatic person would have, which was clashing with the insane amount of emotional and mental strength and with the time that handling their family situation would have needed. His disapproval of Aberforth’s choices (”my wayward brother”) comes from not understanding his brother’s view of life and from thinking that education is essential. Aberforth did not experience Albus’ feelings, and he clearly perceived his distance as snobism and lack of love, which wasn’t the case. We KNOW that Albus loved them. But he hadn’t conveyed it enough through actions.
Hypothesizing that, disregarding the traumatic event of Ariana’s death, the emotional core of Aberforth’s bitterness is loving Albus, even after everything that happened, but never managing to move past feeling neglected and unloved by him a lot of things make more sense.
Let’s examine closer the scene of the brothers eating. In HP Dodge said that the brothers did not have a visibly bad relationship. They got along as much as two people who have such different interests can. The scene conveys that. They are eating together but the only small talk Albus can make is about their family. And of course the discussion is too painful to Aberforth and he shuts his brother down in a way that feeds Albus’ self-loathing. They can only stay in silent companionship, which makes sense if Aberforth loves Albus even as he loathes him.
After all, Aberforth could have lived anywhere. If he wanted to be rid of Albus he could have chosen to stay in Godric’s Hollow, or to move as far as he could and never speak to his brother again. Instead he built his confined little life as close to his brother’s home (Hogwarts) as he could. He went to a place where his brother made regular visits. He hosted his brothers’ allies in SoD, but in HP too he was part of the Order of the Phoenix. One could argue that this was just an alliance.
Desperate times call for desperate measures and Aberforth getting involved in Albus’ plans to help their world does not have to involve love for his brother. And yet, Albus arranged his interview of Trelawney at Hog’s Head instead of anywhere else, which implies that he might have kept in touch with Aberforth even if it was in the strained way we saw in SoD.
There is also an interesting part in The Half-Blood Prince. When Voldemort made his request to become a DADA teacher, he hadn’t rised in the public scene. There were rumors about his change of name, his death-eaters and about him pushing the limits of forbidden magic, especially since Dumbledore always kept an ear out for information, but his fame had not spread yet and he rised about 3 years later. The Order had not been created. Before the meeting Tom dropped his followers at Hog’s Head. By the time he entered the office Albus knew about it. As an explanation he mentioned that he was friendly with the barman. Describing their relationship as ‘friendly’ was clearly an euphemism. And yet, for Aberfoth to report so fast to Albus when there was no movement, no plans and no direct thread... it means that they had enough of a relationship for Albus to have opened up about his suspicions and fears over Voldemort. It also means that Aberforth had to have known that Albus was meeting Tom and that he was worried enough for him when he saw that Tom had brought his lackeys. They were in touch.
Finally, this is just speculation based on the fact that Rowling’s writing is usually deliberate, but I think that having the initiation and the naming of Dumbledore’s Army happening at Hog’s Head, in Aberforth’s presense, with a specific mention of Aberdorth listening in is a very specific choice.
My interpretation is definitely not the only one. I’m just pointing out that the book canon allows interpretations that work organically with the additions of SoD.
Moriarty the Patriot + The Final Problem
aka another unecessary essay from ya boy on how yuumori, instead of taking away from the original text, adds meaning and depth to it
Tumblr media
So I finally got around to reading the final problem after wading through all the memoirs of sherlock holmes and yes, I am in fact reading these because of yuumori. I wanted to see how it was portrayed, what the differences and influences from the original source were. I did end up getting incredibly attached to the original series too, so yeah... I'm glad to report that the original and adaption get along well.
And yeah, I have a lot of thoughts, most of them being just me generally praising yuumori. I think it was straight up genius how they pulled so much content from... well, frankly. The Final Problem was a 15 page short story tossed off by Doyle in order to have an excuse to be done with sherlock holmes, told from the perspective of someone who wasn't even there. And yuumori still managed to make it generally very accurate and complementary to the original, while still being, uhhhhh really fucking different, let's say that.
Read more because again, long essay
Just my observations on the final problem itself is that it is so underdeveloped and told from an outsider perspective. Because of that, so many questions go unanswered, and the reader gets a sense that they are only witnessing a very small part of what actually happened. Sherlock can't afford to go into detail on what Moriarty was even involved in, Watson isn't privy to what's honestly even happening most of the time, and Moriarty just... has this extensive network of organized crime that just isn't even talked about other than Trust Me It's Bad Bro. We don't know Moriarty's intentions, most of who he is, and more questions are honestly brought up than answered within the story. Sherlock knows, oh that's for sure, Sherlock knows what's going on and he has no fucking time to tell Watson. You get a sense that Watson himself isn't even telling all that went down.
So yeah, I can see where there's so much room to expand upon here, not even to change things or make it different because it would be cool, but there's so much that could be happening just within the realm of plausible deniability in the canon.
And I think that it's amazing how Yuumori chose to market itself that way- not as an adaption or reimagining- but that this was in fact the Real story, with Doyle's final problem being... honestly a bit of a cover up, a purposeful misrepresentation of a small slice of the full story. It lends itself completely to that, and I think that's amazing.
(One thing I do find funny is that in Yuumori the story "the final problem" is depicted as a full novella that could be published on its own... man it's not nearly long enough for that but I find it funny in any way)
Of course, there are elements of yuumori that are yknow, simply not realistically something that could have happened, but most of the story is actually within that range of plausible deniability since the canon is so vague and sparse. And since they state that things were changed on purpose to protect people and the moriarty plan, it basically covers that all as simply The Truth. It's well done, and very interesting, especially with the new anime ending taking them to Reichenbach itself.
Like, yuumori didn't even truly change the appearances of the characters, from the descriptions. (we're not counting the illustrations lol) like, Sherlock was never stated (as far as I can tell) to have a specific hair or eye color, hairstyle or such.... he was described as tall, thin, eccentric, messy, with like... long fingers and stuff. Man, yuumori did not go against that. With Moriarty it's different, though he was also reportedly Tall and Thin and Built Like A Yaoi Protag for some goddamn reason, he... you know, has these weird and unattractive features as well, which... in the context of Watson trying to portray Moriarty as unmitigated evil in order to protect the plan, were in this situation made up specifically to further the idea that he was just that.
Because of this situation, the Moriarty that is portrayed as yeah, a smart guy and a threat but seriously just A Bad Dude who seems to have no particular reason behind his actions save being A Bad Dude actually make more sense as a cover up behind a more dangerous secret of him having Real Feelings than the only stated reason being "he inherited being evil from his family". (like... watson, really?)
It explains the vagueness and the events and the weird connection between those two better than the original does, and that's really cool to me.
On their own, without yuumori to back me up on these things, reading this would have left me confused and depressed. But as a half truth immortalized as the real story, you get so much more out of it.
Especially these certain scenes:
When Moriarty just pops into Sherlock's house and they proceed to have a basically wordless conversation amounting to
"you know why I'm here" "you know how I'm going to respond" "well then" "here's date and time of our mutual destruction" "thanks I'll be there" "well I'll be off nice knowing you" "wow it sucks that we're enemies he's such a civil guy"
It just really adds something to that, don't you think?
And the subject of their fall itself, simply the fact that Watson wasn't even there. No one witnessed it. No one found even Moriarty's body. No one found evidence of anything at all.
All Watson could say was that Sherlock and Moriarty had gone up to the mountain together, Moriarty told Sherlock of his plans, let Sherlock write and leave a letter to Watson, and that they never came back down. So he came to the conclusion that they must have fought and both fallen off.... like, holding each other. Not really sure how they reached that conclusion, to be honest.
It doesn't even make sense, exactly told how it is. If Moriarty wanted to kill sherlock and survive, he would have just... brought a fucking gun. Or just pushed him off on the way up. As soon as he got him alone just fucking stab the man. It would have been that easy, but no, he had a whole ass convo with the man, they went up civilly side by side, and they stayed on the cliff a long time while Sherlock wrote that letter. Even then, Sherlock could have just waited to catch Moriarty off guard and pushed him off. But he didn't.
Why would they even have fought, if it was so scheduled? You telling me to believe that after this letter was written and moriarty stood there watching him sipping tea or whatever he was suddenly like "ok im ready to fight now", knowing they would both probably die, and if they were genuinely trying to kill each other and survive, that would even make sense?
Of course, these problems in the original stem just from Doyle no longer giving a shit and slapping this together after losing motivation for sherlock, he was obviously, not hinting at some great conspiracy in the slightest.
But damn, Yuumori really does change that all for you, huh. It adds a whole new layer of context to it. And I like it a lot, I like what they've done on their own, I like what they've done for the original stories, and I especially like what they've done telling the "real story" of this short, vague, mystery that otherwise leaves you feeling unsatisfied and confused.
Hi there! I don't know if this is something you know much about, but I've never interacted with an active landdyke before, so I thought you might be able to help me out.
My aunts own a farm together in upstate New York, and it's the most peaceful place in the world. 10 beautiful acres of Catskill mountain land, a large main house, a guest house, coops and barns. Surrounded by undeveloped property that could definitely be bought and expanded upon. My aunts took me for years when my mother couldn't afford to keep me while also working 3 jobs. This land is my home, my heart and soul, and the first place I go back to in my mind when current situations seem hopeless.
They are selling it after my cousins finish college (in about 5 years) and all I want in my life is to own it when they do. I want to start a women's land. The problem is I have no dang idea how to do that. I have a lot of the skills necessary. I know how to farm (thanks to growing up there), I know how to build things, fix broken machinery, etc. But I know nothing about the legalities or logistics of such a thing. There's also the issue that women's land is not nearly as popular as it once was. How do I attract residents and visitors?
Sorry if this is something you don't really have an answer for, I just thought maybe you could be a good place to start. Thanks for all the work you do, wishing you well sister♀️💞
Wow, what an amazing situation!! I'm so glad you were able to experience that growing up, and that you're in such an awesome position to take it over and keep growing. To attract residents and visitors, I would list your land in Maize and in Lesbian Connection. Jae Haggard has an online forum where you can get in contact and chat with lots of landdykes and get to know the community. Then you can also do what I'm doing, which is use social media to attract younger demographics of women. (also check out @mistmoonandheart) There's been a resurgence of women interested in separatism, but unfortunately many of them think it's just a daydream. Can you offer travel stipends or residencies to teach other women skills? Can you trade room and board for free labor? These kinds of things make it more possible for women to visit. Don't forget to think about accessibility issues either- many women who travel around to different lands have sensitivities to scents and chemicals (google MCS and EFS), they may want to bring their dog or they may have pet allergies, they may have bad knees or a bad back, or chronic illness. Can you offer wifi for women who need to work remotely? You'll have to think about who you're able to accommodate and who you'd have to advise to stay elsewhere. There's only one other land I know of in New York state, so I would get in contact with them and see what their situation is like as far as attracting people. I know a lot of lesbians who live around NYC who might like a place they could go for a weekend to get a retreat from the city, meet other likeminded women, and host get-togethers in a safe place, so you might be able to host events or festivals or get retreat income from that kind of setup. As for legality, there's a few ways you can go. You can privately own the land and invite other women to come live with you, you can create a land trust, or you can run the land as a nonprofit with a board of directors. Avoiding lawsuits for being a female-only space seems to boil down to keeping your head down and being known mostly by word of mouth, but personally I'd like to get together with other women and start brainstorming better tactics for defending against misogyny from within the legal system. Another thing to think about in terms of what kind of community model you're interested in is whether you're dreaming of fostering an active, close-knit community of women, or whether you'd be happy having women living on the land who mostly mind their own business and live private lives. Or some mix? If you haven't already, get the Maize directory and take a look at all the different lands out there and the different ways they're run. Look into the history of women's land and see what's worked and what's failed, and go visit some lands yourself and get a sense of the vibes. And meet people! Old dykes have the WILDEST stories, and they love to tell them. You're already off to a great start if you understand the finances of your aunt's land and what it takes to keep it running. Best of luck!
Hi! I'm a gay fan of 911 and I have a question about the whole Buddie fandom. As much as I like Buck and Eddie, it's frustrating that a HUGE part of the fandom is pushing for these two characters to get together instead of putting energy into supporting Hen & Carla and Michael & Dave. Not to mention Carlos and TK in Lone Star. Can you explain to me the appeal of wanting these two men together? Wouldn't it be more interesting to see two heterosexual males just be able to bond in a non-toxic fashion? That's something we don't get to see often on television.
Hey! This is MAD long lmao I am so sorry! You caught me on a day I felt like talking! Also this took like a year to answer you lolololol. This does have a few ʻhot takesʻ so please be warned! So like in this essay....
So first I am also apart of the LGBTQIA+ community, so I do understand how it could come across as a fetish or being non supportive of the current canonically LGBTQIA+ characters, however I think a lot of the interest around Buddie and the want for them to be confirmed as a couple is how they are being written. Me personally I knew since s2 e1 Buck and Eddie were written not as rivals but as two people who would eventually become friends, but it wasn’t until the Christmas episode with the elf assuming Buck was Chris’s dad and Eddie’s partner that I was like ‘hold on!’ because I was really hoping Abbey would return and I didn’t see Eddie as a possible Buck live interest because of that. The elf’s comment wasn’t played off like most other shows would (think Dean and Sam arriving anywhere in Supernatural) it made me go back and look at the other episodes to see exactly how Buck and Eddie were being framed/written. And as we have moved into further seasons I think there has been a shift in how Buddie is being written, in s3 it was very much like two people progressing into a deeper friendship then the blood clot/lawsuit gets in the way and they both have to deal with emotions surrounding that, then Buck’s response to Eddie being trapped (we see how is he when Boddy is trapped in a fire WITH A GUNMAN, it’s emotional but not to the point is is with Eddie), even the love interests feel very pushed on us and there’s so little banter between Buddie about their gfs and how they feel about these new beginnings. It feels off, not like a friendship in the slightest, more like two people trying to force something and not wanting to deal with any other feelings. Then when Eddie gets shot and reveals Buck is Chris’s legal Guardian in the event Eddie dies, that’s huge, and he did this after only a year of knowing Buck (I have friends with kids. I’ve known one of them for FIVE years, I’m at their house every week, the kid calls me family. I’m person #10 on the list of ‘who gets my kid if I die’, not #1 lol) It just feels like it’s all building up to something, and people are getting tired of waiting for that something! We’re all emotionally tired from the past two years, and probably from many shows queerbaiting us and this is something that could happen, seems to be something the actors are ok with and the fans want. So why do they keep drawing it out. This isn’t about us demanding they ignore the chance to write a healthy platonic male friendship, or forcing two characters to be gay, it’s about holding the writers to what they’ve implied and seeing what could come of it.
Also think of it like this; If Buddie is confirmed it will still be a good example of a healthy friendship which then developed into something else, like Booth/Bones! Showing the natural progression of friendship to relationship that happens a lot in real life. It’s two men who previously (on screen at least) have only been with woman, but now they have an emotionally connection with someone which they then develop and explore. This could be 911’s first nontoxic depiction of two gay characters coming together, because sorry not sorry the canon couples aren’t perfect (which does humanize them) but they also reenforce harmful troupes that plaque the LGBTQIA+ community, which I’m sure you understand: TK was a drug addict, who only got with Carlos at first cause he was hot and sex was TK’s new addition (all gay men are sex addicts who do drugs and sleep with anything that moves). Carlos was ashamed and wanted to keep TK on the downlow (poc gay men want to pretend to be straight but have free access to gay sex). Hen cheated on Karen seemingly the first chance she got (lesbians can’t handle monogamy when pushed, and cheat on their long term partners). All known and documented troupes that happen far too often.
I’m not saying Buddie is some gay jesus ship that’s gonna save the entertainment industry but if done right it could prove to be one of the few healthy depictions of two men getting into a gay relationship we have. If they plan it out correctly, show us the relationship development, like they did with Maddie/Chim for example, Buddie could be used as a positive example of a gay fictional relationship (I really could go into depth about this. I probably should tbh).
As for not supporting Hen and KAREN, or Michael and DAVID, I think fans do support them! The writers don’t. If you read fanfics Henren and Michael/David are featured heavily in many fics, and ik some people might say ‘well they’re only there so Buddie can talk about their gay side!!’ but both these couples have their own fans and fanfic tags! They aren’t just plot devices in Buddie stories. There is a huge side of the fandom that supports Henren and wants to see more of them and their family. Same with Michael and David, during the episode where Michael and Bobby team up to find that plastic surgeon who was working illegally many people where ecstatic that we were getting more Michael/David content and that David was getting more than a couple lines. But sadly it seems like the writers only want to delve into these story lines when they need filler, they even miss opportunities to include these other LGBTQIA+ characters when it makes sense;
(Someone came for me about this but I am going to bring it up again)
When Chris is sad and wants more human connection, instead of bring Harry + Michael/David and Denny+Nia+Henren back into the picture (and yes I understood at the time the pandemic was bad (lmao still is!!), but all the actors at some point would have/had crossed over into each other’s ‘bubbles’, so ALL the actors would have been exposed to each other so getting the children together with adults they had ALREADY been with during shooting wouldn’t have been a super spreader event) but instead they brought in Ana after only two on screen dates and pretended like it was a logical thing for someone who’s up to that point been extremely careful with their child.
They really could have pushed the ‘118 is a family!’ message here and included the canonically gay supporting characters, and the lesbian main character(s) but they did not and instead chose to push the Ana/Eddie coupling even though they hadn’t properly developed it yet. The writers themselves don’t seem to care about developing their canonically gay characters and including them more than they have to but fans are continuously developing Henren and Michael/David with hc and fics.
I’d like to use your logic against you for a second, in s1 we have a very healthy, platonic friendship between Chim/Bobby but that got written out to the point they are more like boss/employee unless the scene calls for them to seem closer, we now have Bobby and Michael friendship but again we hardly see Michael. On Lone Star we have Owen and Judd as a really, really good example of a healthy male friendship but we see Judd more often with Tommy now then we do with Owen, and in s2 it’s overshadowed by Owen trusting Charlie from Twilight and constantly getting fucked over! Why can’t the writter just be happy with these happy, healthy, emotionally well male-male friendship they’ve already included and expand upon them. There’s enough drama because the show literally involves burning buildings and people’s lives being at risk from some natural/man made disaster ever 12 seconds. Does it need to have so much interpersonal conflict and male peacocking??
