thoughts on totk now that i’ve beaten it
under the cut bc of length and bc there is honestly a fair bit of negative stuff
i don’t really think i can say that i liked totk.
it’s fine, it’s genuinely fucking incredible from a technical standpoint with ultrahand, recall, the three map layers and with how smoothly it ran for me. as a game it’s fine.
i’ll start with the things i dislike and end with what i actually liked
i honestly didn’t really like ultrahand? i disliked how much the game leaned on it, since so many puzzles and whatever just boiled down to ‘make something that’ll work’ and it just... it was far too clunky for me to really enjoy using it, outside of using some of the same few designs for traversal. there were a few times when i could see what the game wanted me to do with ultrahand and the given zonai parts and sometimes it just... didn’t work at all. more often than not ultrahand was frustrating for me to use so the game’s reliance on it just made it into a chore sometimes.
in a similar vein the dungeons were serious letdowns. i mean, don’t get me wrong, they’re fine, they had good themes and (mostly) had good aesthetics and general looks and identities to them, but the fact that they were just... basically twenty-ish minute little things was kind of disappointing. i hate that they all had the exact same ‘go hit x number of switches’ gimmick. it really limited what you could do and fucked with the dungeon design, too. the only one where that really worked for me was the fire temple, which was my favorite overall. the water temple was especially dismal, with the least inspired look and just being an astoundingly easy experience. the puzzles in those dungeons were so awfully easy, too, especially since half of the time they just hand you what you need so you barely need to really assess the situation and put a plan together
i hated the water dungeon’s little mini-areas where you do a single piss-easy puzzle to automatically get your prize, i hated the wind temple’s god damn ‘pull a lever and get your prize’ kind of puzzles, i hated how soul-crushingly disappointed i felt when i took a look at the lightning temple’s map and realized that every fucking floor had a singular room just for the switch puzzle. god forbid it’s as fun as the lowest level of that temple. i really miss stuff like mini-bosses or rooms where you have to do a puzzle in order to just... progress, i miss dungeons that i could get lost in or spend a while in or just had... something more interesting or some more substance so that i can’t just breeze through like it’s a glorified shrine. most of the puzzles in those dungeons were simpler than some shrines i did.
i didn’t care to do much exploration since there honestly isn’t much motivation to explore the surface map if you’ve already played botw, and the scarcity of materials this time really got to me, it took me a while to have a half-decent stock of materials, and i still had trouble not running out of stuff even though i was using amiibos to stock up on some things. the money situation was rough, too... a lot of things are cheaper to sell, but some armor is still really expensive plus you have to pay the great fairies to upgrade your equipment in addition to having the correct materials. that especially felt odd- having to grab a handful of (goddamn hard to get) lynel guts is hard enough to upgrade the soldier’s armor, but you want me to cough up 500 rupees, too??
(the scarcity of monster guts also got on my nerves, but i’ll just chalk that up to just some kind of really weird difficulty thing. it was annoying until i tracked down the stronger monsters.)
the story is probably the weakest part of the game to me. it’s really hard to have a baseline investment when you don’t care about these characters, anyway, and what i saw in this game’s story still failed to endear me to hardly any of them. link’s role frustrated me; he just comes off like a tool rather than a character this time through, he barely has any actual relevancy to the story segments beyond being the guy who can use the master sword and being the player’s vehicle to get from point a to b in the story. the blank stare and limited emoting worked in botw because... there’s a given reason for his lack of outward emotion in the past, plus he has no memory in the present. it makes sense. but this time around, he’s gotten memories in the years between this and the last game, but he just feels like a background character in most of the story beats.
he has no role in the memories and in the present just exists to gather some stuff for other people, he gets the master sword from zelda and then helps the other sages get their secret stones, but he’s barely addressed as his own character in the grand scheme of things unless he’s being directly spoken to. he’s just the swordsman capable of wielding the master sword and zelda’s chosen protector as far as the story is concerned. he has no opinions outside of doing what he’s told and looking for zelda. at least not as far as i could really tell. at least in botw, the story directly concerns him, and it’s his story we’re following. this time around zelda and the sages seem like the most important characters, link’s just... there, doing what he’s been told to.
the new sages are fine, none of them really endeared themselves to me, and i will say that making the player watch essentially the exact same cutscene each time you finish a dungeon was BAFFLING. they were long and you learned almost nothing new after the first one, and there was nothing done to make them very distinct to each individual pair of sages or their respective regions; at the very least, it could have been interesting to meet the ancient sages not in the exact same stone garden, but perhaps at the top of a snowy mountain for the rito, near a volcano or something for the goron, maybe in a shallow pool of water for the zora, and in the desert for the gerudo- but no, they’re all effectively the same thing just with the speaking character swapped out with some minor changes.
(the sages themselves are a pain in the ass to use, having to chase them down to activate their power or accidentally activating a power when you don’t want it; yunobo was honestly my favorite, but because i generally defaulted to having them all activated at all times, i had a lot of trouble with tulin blowing shit away from me when i was trying to grab it while midair. they’re half-decent for combat)
i didn’t really care for rauru or sonia, either. rauru in the present as a ghost was fine, he was kind of interesting and seemed to have changed from his time in the past, but he never managed to be a character i particularly liked. i wasn’t really a fan of his... arrogance? or something in the past scenes, and he never really came off as very interesting. sonia was nearly completely uninteresting which is a shame since she has an interesting design, she just felt delegated to the role of supporting rauru and zelda and then dying to motivate them.
ganondorf is a character i was really looking forward to seeing, and it really fucking sucks that he’s so god damn one-dimensional this time! the story can’t be fucked to delve into him beyond just giving us scenes that just tell us that he’s evil and wants to rule hyrule and get the secret stones and nothing else because fuck having complex villains, i guess. especially frustrating because within the game itself you can draw more interesting motivations up for him, but the game really just doubles-down on him being evil for the fuck of it and wanting to end the world because uhhhh... he’s evil don’t fucking worry about it
the ignoring of the triforce in this game sucks in that way, too, because the way the triforce works and how it can grant wishes made it a much more interesting goal for ganondorf to attain, rather than some poorly-named ‘secret stones’ that do nothing more than just amplify power or something. it sucks how black-and-white this damn story is and how it seems like it just wants to do away with any possible nuance or gray area. no one but the bad guys or side characters are flawed in any actually interesting or significant way.
at least ganondorf was still the most interesting character in the flashbacks.
and then zelda, oh god ZELDA. i honestly really liked her in botw. i liked how you saw her as a flawed, insecure, pressured teen, and how you saw her struggles to relate to link and how she eventually warmed up to him. you saw her as a flawed person who develops and as someone who cares deeply about her friends and her duties and gets frustrated by her failings.
and then in totk a lot of her more interesting traits- her interest in sheikah tech, her excitement over field study and research, her more defining traits as this incarnation of zelda- are basically sanded down and she’s just this perfect flawless princess with great power and an insanely passive role in the past beyond finally taking some kind of action after one of her friends dies and she’s pushed to the brink. cool. great.
she has practically no flaw in totk. if anyone in the present talks about her, they have nothing bad to say and just want to please her and follow her orders, she is right in telling the gerudo how to train their troops she is right even when misheard to tell people to put themselves in danger and she is hardly meaningfully questioned when her imposter is doing very clearly suspicious shit. neither the story nor any of the characters wants to let her be flawed. she’s just perfect in damn near every way and barely retains any interesting characterization she got in botw. there are some interesting snippets in her being a teacher and setting up memorials to those who died in the calamity, but there’s hardly any more than that, and it makes it really hard for me to give a damn about her. she’s not interesting this time.
the whole thing with zelda becoming a dragon too, is... it’s fine. it’s ok. but the fact that she turns back at the end with no problem whatsoever is one hell of a fucking misstep. why talk about draconification being forbidden for a good reason anyways if it doesn’t actually matter anyways??? if you never actually see any of those fucking repercussions why even bring them up??? i really feel like it would have been more effective for there to have been actual consequences for zelda beyond just fucking flying around half-conscious for a millennium or whatever- have her lose her memory when she’s brought back! there you go! there’s the reason why draconification is forbidden! there’s the thing about losing yourself! plus, zelda losing her memories as a result would mirror link having lost his memories in botw! that has so much more weight and significance then ‘oh uh ignore the warnings from a while back she’s completely fine dw abt it’ i hate that she’s back just like that without any of the consequences that the game suggests.
the dragon’s tears in general kinda just felt weaker than botw’s memories anyways bc you’re more just. watching stuff happen then actually learning anything. it has less characters and yet i feel like you only get to know like half of the important ones. like three of them are all about the same event. a few times they just replay parts of old memories in new ones. if they ever reference a past memory they just show you what they’re referencing instead of leaving you to piece it together. just play the voices or something don’t break the flow of things to play a clip of something i’ve already seen.
plus the fact that totk... barely acknowledges that it’s a sequel to botw really rubs me the wrong way. i understand that loz is extremely loose with its lore, but totk is a direct sequel set in the same world a few years later, and yet the events and characters of botw have might as well been forgotten and its all either ignored, brushed aside, or straight up replaced by something else for no good reason. the continuity between these games is absolutely dismal and to see the different ways in which the events and concepts or botw are just... disregarded really just left a bad taste in my mouth.
just- i love good stories and worlds in video games, and while some games can coast by for me by feeling good to play, having a good and engaging story and characters is usually essential to my enjoyment of a game, and when i don’t care about to the point of disliking the story and characters, and when none of the important areas are fascinating or distinct enough from each other, and when the game even fails to really reel me in with the gameplay...
Tumblr media
i wanted to like totk, but it really just did not work for me. i just ended up feeling frustrated and disappointed and even sometimes bored with all of the major stuff and man. totk is really, REALLY, not for me, and it just left me wanting to play older zelda games instead.
...
HOWEVER! there were actually some things i really loved about totk! it’s not all doom and gloom! (well, not all doom, at least)
so! the music was great! not all of it really fit or made a lot of sense with the context in which they played or failed to evoke the feeling they were meant to, but the new tracks in this game were great! i especially love the first two phases of the fire temple’s theme, the depths music, and most of the new battle and boss themes. zelda games almost never fail when it comes to the music.
i did genuinely like the fire temple- yunobo’s ability was used the best in this dungeon, and it had the best five switches gimmick, i loved how you had to hit the gongs (sometimes having to construct a path to account for the weaknesses of yunobo’s ability) and how it then ‘scared’ each of the five statues holding a part of the gate- it was very cute and fit in very well with the general feel of that part of the story. it was the best in terms of difficulty and complexity, but it didn’t have the best boss- the lightning temple had the best boss, and i will admit that even if most of them were easy, i really enjoyed the mirror puzzles, as well as the process to unlocking the dungeon. the wind temple had my favorite visual identity and aesthetic, though, i liked it being a part of this old rito song, and how it was the most distinct in looks from the other dungeons.
the sky islands were honestly fun, even if they weren’t all that interesting. getting to some of the harder-to-reach islands were some of my favorite times i had to use ultrahand, and stuff like the zonai forge island and the one orblike island with the mirror puzzle, and pretty much all of the more complicated parts of the sky islands were a lot of fun to explore and figure out.
being able to ride on the dragons was just really cool, and the fact that they come out of the chasms was fun.
the new horns for the monsters were cool, it helps differentiate the different monster strengths and i just thought they were really neat.
the quest with lurelin village was fun, even if the pirates just being monsters was a real let-down.
the stable trotters were also a fun bunch of characters, that was a good, new way to open up fairy fountains.
all of the new stuff with the yiga was really fun, like getting their outfit and being able to pretend to be one of them and learning the blademaster attack- so much fun it was so cute.
most of the new outfits are really good and useful, and while a bit janky and not that great, the house-building bit near tarrey was endearing.
while none of the main characters interested me, i really, especially liked tauro and yona and penn. for some reason they just appealed to me and i really wish they had bigger parts in the game because they’re interesting and they have good designs and i’d really like to know more about them.
the underground gerudo shelter was pretty cool, to be honest, and the look of the caves was really cool.
i adored the proving grounds shrines- easily my favorite shrines in the entire game, i had no problem spending a decent amount of time in those kinds of shrines, they were fantastic.
the new ingredients and recipes and new weapons were cool.
the way you basically return to the area you started at on your way to ganondorf is pretty cool, that whole path is really neat.
ganondorf in general was a pretty cool boss, even if he ended up being kind of easy for me. the whole final boss sequence was neat.
by FAR, though, my absolute favorite part of this game was 100% the depths. the fact that there was just an entire second layer to the map that was the same size as the surface, just inverted and dark and filled with new bosses and locations... i spent hours down there without going back up to the surface and absolutely had a BLAST screwing around in the dark, lighting up my path with brightblooms and tossing together little vehicles with lights so that i could get to the next lightroot off in the distance. the depths was probably where i ended up using zonai vehicles the most, and it was honestly pretty fun to go around spotting and reaching every lightroot, coming across different mines and weird little landforms and coliseums and yiga camps. the music and plantlife and look of the depths were so good, and it really felt distinct from the rest of the game in a very good way. doing all of the lightroots and getting enough zonaite to max out link’s energy cells was definitely a good move since it made finding shrines and dealing with later zonai machine stuff easier.
overall, tears of the kingdom was a severely mixed bag for me, and while there was stuff i did like, i don’t think it’s enough to really get me to say that i really liked this game overall- after all most of the stuff i disliked was unavoidable parts of the games, and it definitely put a hamper on my interest in the rest of the time. totk is fine, but it’s really not my thing.
#i just- *slams head into brick wall* bro i did not have a good time with this game#going back to my silly little comparison point; totk was $70 and my copy of phantom hourglass was $70#$70 is a bullshit amount for a game but thats no the point here#totk from a technical baseline standpoint as a GAME is worth $70#its story and the amount of enjoyment it gave me was not worth $70 tho. the story and enjoyment i got from ph was more worth $70 to me#salty talks#loz#legend of zelda#totk#'zelda games almost never fail when it comes to the music' if you talk shit abt ph's soundtrack i'll kill you. i like the dungeon track#i partially have the shinji chair image saved for this but i did also initally save it yesterday when i finished nge#listen this was fine on a surface level but it just wore me the fuck down#link was just some flavor of stonefaced or surprised or determined in any given cutscene and like. idk. wasnt too interested in him either#look i know about the silly little dialogue options. still didnt do it for me#link getting his arm back only makes sense to me bc i got every last light of blessing and heart container and stamina vessel#the gloom in his body is 100% gone hes squeaky clean for me. whyd you take his shirt off tho. at least keep his hat. cant take it seriously#put him in the archaic set or smth his arm is fully visible that way at least and its full circle thats what he wears at the start#couldnt take the whole grabbing zelda sequence seriously bc i missed the (hold) prompt and link flew away lol#totk spoilers#also wasnt really a fan of most of the voice acting yeah sorry. kinda rough all around aside from like ganondorf and dimitri- i mean rauru#mineru and the rito sage were fine too ig. im not going to bother watching any vids or whatever to check again#riju and sidon were fine too#sonia was cool too but everyone else was a lil rough tbh esp with having to say 'secret stone' that name sucks shit#my switch died in the middle of the credits. i had like 25% when i started fighting ganondorf.#it died twice actually cuz i charged it for a few minutes and what like yeah 5% should be good and nope. died again#anyways whatever. im not giving it a rating im tired of this game i dont think i'll be replaying or even just touching it any time soon#music was top notch again tho. made me feel stuff more than the actual story did. cool ig#bitching abt totk

Last night I managed to 100%Breath of the Wild's Master Mode.
Tumblr media
I started this file roughly a year ago for partially wanting to replay it and for writing material for my AU. I have played this game many times over the years, but this was the first time I properly beat it (and played the Champion's Ballad). Somehow I was able to beat this in under 200 hours (sitting at 155). Go me?
Just some ramblings surrounding the game below:
2017 was a hectic period in my life. I went through some major life-changing events that by some miracle I came out on the other side much better off. Not to say it wasn't incredibly stressful, though. One of my best friends would gift me his copy of the Wii U version of the game (he planned on getting the Switch version) to help me take my mind off of my life for a time.
Playing that game for the first time was a magical experience. As a veteran Zelda player who was so used to most of the franchise's linear gameplay over the years it was refreshing to see something so different. And because the game was so new there weren't any floating spoilers or guides that spoiled the fun.
Revisiting this game again, although it didn't recapture the magic I had playing it the first time, did make me admire all the intricate details perfectly tucked into the game. It also made me appreciate Tears of the Kingdom a lot more as its gameplay is quite the improvement over its predecessor. The amount of times I was using magnesis and especially cryonis made me miss ultra hand. Perhaps that game spoiled me haha.
Playing master mode wasn't too bad either. I only really struggled in a few areas. Beginner Master Trials and its infamous floor 11 comes to mind. Forcing you to fight several silver lizalfos who can rapidly heal to full health if you are not constantly hitting them, that can kill you in 2 -3 hits, with no armor and only given weak weapons was absolutely unforgiving. But the funniest part is there is a method to beat this room that is so easy it makes me embarrassed that I had any difficulty to begin with. Also my rematch with Waterblight during the Mipha's song questline was just as annoying but that was more of a skill issue.
I did start that game file with the idea that I wanted to 100% so I followed Zelda Dungeon's interactive map to get all the korok seeds and whatnot. It wasn't that bad doing that while multi-tasking for other parts of the game (except when I, even though I was following the map, ended up missing two korok seeds and I had to tediously comb through everywhere to find the ones I missed).
A similar thing happened with some shrine quests because I completed it without logging the quest down first. I wanted to get a 100% on that too so I had to look everywhere for the ones I was missing and spent almost two hours trying to find this last one. It turns out I was missing the Spring of Wisdom log. I thought I had that one originally because I remember talking to an NPC about it. But it turns out there's another NPC that actually initiates the quest. Silly me!
I got all of the clothing you can find in the game (and including some amiibo exclusives) and maxed out upgrading them. Yes, even the ones that required star fragments. I ended up exploiting a glitch called menu overloading to duplicate materials I needed (because there was no way I was going to farm star fragments regularly so late in my gameplay). The glitch is very easy to do and it results in a funny side effect:
Tumblr media
Overall satisfied I completed this 100%. I am going to play Tears of the Kingdom for a bit until Echoes comes out. I do also plan on 100% it to see how it compares to BOTW from a fresher perspective. Here's some other screenshots of my 100% run (mostly to brag).

And a bonus of one of my cats "helping" me out.

I think I might have to figure out what counts as content that should be done one stream and off stream for TotK. On one hand, I don't want to miss streaming any fun moments that will likely happen by accident. On the other hand, I don't want to deal with so much busywork on stream that I drown out the story bits. I already do a few things off-stream, such as using my amiibo cards and upgrading my armor at the Great Fairies, but I may have to start exploring on my own if I want to get through the game before FFXVI is old news (it comes out next week, and I plan on streaming it when I can). I could go exploring the Depths on my own I guess? As long as I don't do any quest stuff? I haven't been down there much yet and haven't found another reason to other than to find Kohga again. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

For the get to know ask game: 💕: Your two top fave fictional characters, 📖: Fave books, (this can totally be more than one, as choosing just one favorite book is impossible) and 🌼: Fave flower! 🙂🙂
Oh sh!t, uhh top two, huh? I think imma have to break that rule, because as a neurodivergent, collecting is both a coping mechanism for trauma and something I enjoy a lot. And I collect plushies and characters. So can I just list my characters I like collecting?
Kurama and Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho, I just got their noodle stopper figures, and I pre-ordered Kurama's Nendoroid just two days ago. Excitedly waiting for Hiei's.
Tumblr media
Sesshomaru from Inuyasha, last thing I got of his was either his noodle stopper, or the Pop-Up Parade figure, can't remember. (We don't talk about Yashahime here, that show is trashfire)
Tumblr media
Loki and Bucky from Marvel, obviously, lol. I just recently got Loki's newest Funko Pop of him holding his scepter from Avengers. He's probably my most extensive collection, because I even have several Hot Toys 1/6 figures and most his comic books among so much else. There's not a lot for collecting Bucky, unfortunately, I think the last thing I got of him were the Q-Posket figures, though.
Tumblr media
Link from LoZ. I'm very biased towards these games, as they were my lifeline during the time I was recovering from a traumatizing relationship. I have all his Nendoroid and Figma figures, as well as his amiibo, and so much more. Just him, though, not Zelda or anyone else. I have Skyward Sword figure by Real Action Heroes, but I'm still in the market for the BotW one.
Tumblr media
Sherlock from BBC series, his is probably my smallest collection. I have all his Funko Pops, a 1/6 figure (not by Hot Toys), a movie poster, and I think that's it. Sad, honestly.
Tumblr media
Thranduil from The Hobbit, his is as small. I have a couple of plushies, some posters, a small figurine. I plan on trying to find more, haven't found an Asmus figure within a good price range, but I'm also not really impressed with their model of him. Asmus figures tend to be a hit-or-miss with their stuff, no in-between.
Tumblr media
Cloud and Sephiroth from FFVII, both the original and remake stuff. I recently ordered a plush of Cloud and then preordered his matching Advent Children plush and Play Arts Kai Cloud in a dress. I'm aiming for getting a good priced GameToys 1/6 figure of Sephiroth, but they're not easy to come by or confirm as authentic. That reminds me, I need Sephiroth's matching plush to the Cloud ones....
Tumblr media
I used to collect Severus Snape, because his character was the most interesting, but since his creator has become problematic, I've neglected that collection. Can't bring myself to get rid of them, cuz the character is still fascinating.
~
As for favorite books, that's even harder. Mostly because beloved series I used to follow tend to turn horrible because their authors go through irl hardships and their works are heavily affected. Like the Anita Blake series by Hamilton, or the Dark Hunter series by Kenyon. Those series suck so bad now. Though, hopefully, the Mercy Thompson series and the Alpha & Omega series, both by Patricia Briggs, don't end up that way. Back in high school, I really like the Vampire Kisses series, and I think the writing has held up even now, but it definitely is a young adult/teen series. A trilogy I really love, even now, would be Depravity, Deceit, Devastation by MJ Haag, it's my favorite Beauty and the Beast reimagining. I still enjoy things like LotR and The Hobbit, but I dunno if I'd call them my favorites. There have been a lot of good Loki books (and comics), but nothing that really stood out yet. Howl's Moving Castle the book has always been fun, but it's not at the top of my list either...
I guess I just enjoy books as I read them and connect with them, usually characters actually, and so there are too many to name that I've enjoyed and relish and would suggest to others. I mean, it may be easier to name favorite genres? Cuz then I'd say Horror, Fantasy, some Sci-Fi, and Adventure. Recently I've been enjoying Isekai stories, though there have been only some that stick out to me, just because of how differently the elements and story is handled: 'Death Is the Only Ending for the Villainess' and 'Kill the Villainess,' but 'Marry My Husband' has also been interesting though I don't think it's necessarily Isekai.
~
My favorite flower is the easiest, lol, it's the Red Spider Lily, also known as the Red Magic Lily, Corpse Flower, or Equinox Flower.

Thanks for the ask! 💚

6 Times Nintendo Asked for Too Much Money, for Too Little in Return, on Switch, or Despite It
I’m critical of anyone who I think is ripping people off, and Nintendo, sadly, espeically since it’s games don’t drop in price, has done that a lot. That’s not to say Sony and Microsoft have never done it before, but since the Direct was an egregious reminder of how they mishandle business, I thought now was as good a time as any to remind people, they kind of have a history.
6.  Charging over $100, for a remake’s full content
Now, I will say, in most cases a remake can go full price. If it’s ground up like a remake should be, and adds extra features or content to sweeten the deal, that’s fair play, however, locking content behind a paywall is cheap. Enter Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia. While the base game was just full price, which was 40 bucks on the 3DS, it cost far more to unlock all of it’s extra content. A $25 dollar Amiibo combo back, which unlocked special content, and a $50 dollar season pass, which was mostly just new dungeons and weapons, brought the total to $115 dollars for all it’s content. Hey, I get it, DLC is a thing, but a season pass that costs more than the base game, is just a shitty thing to do. Nintendo even went so far as to alter how they added it up, to make it seem cheaper than it was. To make matters worse, they did all this while giving out free content like crazy on Nintendo Switch games, kind of telling everyone who wasn’t an early adopter of the system, to screw off. It was also the first real screw ball thing they did after Satoru Iwata-San had passed away. Talk about a spit in the face.
5. Overcharging for MicroSD’s.
One of the major problems of the Switch, is that it has too little space for all the games Nintendo wants you to buy on it, and to be fair, that we also want to buy on it. While most first party titles are pretty small in terms of what they require from the Switch, it has a massive 3rd party library as well, and how does Nintendo handle that, by charging double for what anyone could get for MicroSD’s that do exactly what the Nintendo branded ones do. I mean, seriously, imagine paying 100 bucks for 256GB of space, when you could pay 50. Be careful about that though, some MicroSD’s couldn’t be formatted, which would mean you couldn’t you them on the Switch. While that seems to have calmed down more over the years, it still happened at the time, and it still sucked. Overcharging because your name is on a product, is shameful, and screw everyone that does it, Nintendo included.
4. Charging for Nintendo Online.
I get it, Microsoft and Sony do it, and I hate that as well, but at least in return, you can get some actually decent games, and better deals on products, espeically with PSN for the latter, and come on, Game Pass is worth it no matter who you are. Nintendo though, even though it’s cheaper, has thus far refused to release any games past SNES era, a large portion of games released on Nintendo Online are cheap 3rd party rip-off’s of first party Nintendo games, and it really doesn’t appear like Nintendo plans to make the service truly worth it any time soon. As much as I love Nintendo, it’s really hard to justify paying for an online service that nets you so little, but alas, here we are.
3. New Super Bros U Deluxe
Yeah, a full price port of a game is never a good idea, and this whole list could have been made of them. Instead, I’m only going to include a few, but this one might be the worst. I mean, Super Mario Bros U is a great game, but it’s not worth full price just because it got ported. There’s not that much content there, even with the added Luigi U content inspired by the year of Luigi. It’s a hard sell trying to convince a logical person that the same 4 hour game, with an extra hour to hour and a half of content, which is just levels you already played as Mario, is a good buy, because it isn’t. I don’t know what Nintendo was thinking with this port, and it’s sad to see it, but alas, like all Nintendo games, it’s still full price on their store.
2. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
I will put it on record that I love Tokyo Mirage Sessions, it’s a somewhat more light-hearted game than the it’s source material, at least from Atlus’ end, but that doesn’t make it bad at all, in fact it’s great. However, it kinda failed on the Wii U, quickly leaving store shelves and never being heard from again until it’s Switch version was announced. It’s still a great game on the Switch, but either Nintendo got greedy, or Atlus let them, and a game that basically a commercial failure, came out at full price same as before, and that was easily a deterrent for many, as it should be. Selling a port of a game that flopped on a system that flopped, isn’t exactly a good consumer move, and yet, it’s exactly what happened.
 1. Asking you to pay more for Miitopia
Look, I get that there is certain difference between playing a game on a handheld, and playing it on your 4K TV if you have one, and I’ll admit the idea of play Miitopia on my 4K display is both appealing and hilarious, but it’s just a port. It’s not a remaster, it’s a port. And for that extra 10 bucks we get what, a horse and some makeup? How people can justify that is beyond me. The “Oh I didn’t play it on 3DS so this will be my first time buying it” is an excuse to hide behind because your love of Nintendo is too strong. If don’t call out a company for it’s bad practices, or buy into those practices, they are only going to do worse, and if this list isn’t proof of that, that I don’t know what to tell you. Charging more for a port than an original release is shady though.
And that’s my list, did I miss anything you think was too much on the Nintendo Switch? Let me know in the comments below, reblog this post if it interested you, feel free to leave a note, and hey, if you think I’m biased against Nintendo, just look at the photo I post that’s coming directly after this goes live. Have a good freaking day/night whatever your time zone’s got you on.

so i've been broke and now i have unexpected expenses!
So i've been working on getting a car (got one! Yay, i guess) except we got quoted the wrong loan amount... so the day I was getting it, I found out that, instead of having the car completely covered + enough to cover the couple hundred extra for transferring the title and all the fees and shit... we were 800 short of just paying for the car. Like, without the couple hundred for the fees and shit.
So of course neither me or any of my family were ready to pay literally anything, and i've just started my second job because my first couldn't give me the hours i need (and also only pays 10.20 an hour lol). My first "big" paycheck is this friday (September 18th) but the pay period for my second job ended last Saturday, so my first pay check isn't actually gonna be great lol. Plus i haven't been able to really save any money the last couple months, so like i was excited to save a bunch from my first couple of big paychecks, but i have to figure out the car shit.
The 200 for state fees had to just be charged to my credit card, which is really not ideal, because i am not prepared to pay that off, and i really don't feel like fucking up my credit when i just got my credit card like a month and a half ago.
Now luckily, the guy who i bought the car from told me not to worry about the missing 800 and to just work on paying him back whenever. But that's still 800 plus the 200 for the state that I owe. I also will be starting to pay for the car loan in a month, and i'll probably be helping pay for at least part of my auto insurance (which is gonna be a total of $189/month) And like, i've been planning to move with my friend in a few months, so right now was supposed to be the start of more money security for myself, and being able to start saving money.
TLDR; I'm a broke nb lesbian pls help
If ur interested in something in exchange for money, send me an ask/message me and i could draw/paint you something (traditional or digital), and I can make custom amiibo cards! Any character for which an amiibo exists.

A Story About Raymond
When we started our Animal Crossing New Horizons island our first camper was Raymond, this business cat with hetero-chromatic eyes.
Tumblr media
He’s a bit of a smug bitch, but being a cat he quickly worked his way into our hearts, and became one of our favorite villagers.
Once our village filled up I was a little sad that my favorite villager from past games hadn’t made it onto our island. This was Static, a grumpy little purple squirrel who had been in all of my villages since the original Animal Crossing.
Tumblr media
There was a villager named Queenie that we didn’t like very much because she was mean to the other villagers so when she decided to move out we let her.
Tumblr media
I had saved nearly 300,000 Nook Miles, and I used them to hunt for Static on deserted island tours. Between myself and my husband we used a few hundred tickets but never found him, and eventually a random villager named Blaire moved into the open lot.
She was cute but also happened to be mean to the other villagers the same way Queenie was.
Tumblr media
Several months later Static showed up at our island’s campground, and we hoped the game would let us ask Blaire to move out. Alas no the game offered to have Static move to the island in place of Raymond.
Tumblr media
I was heartbroken. I offered to get a Static amiibo so we could just try again that way, but my husband was loath to spend money just to get a villager, and dismissed Raymond so Static could move in, hoping that we would be able to find Raymond again on a mystery island. At least he thought, if that didn’t work I could just buy a Raymond amiibo to get our precious cat back.
There were two problems with this plan. After we had already dismissed Raymond we learned that an amiibo for him was never made, beyond that because of the way the game generates random villagers on the mystery islands any particular cat villager had about a 0.12% chance of appearing.
I wasn’t hopeful. My husband spent the next several weeks saving Nook Miles while we waited for Blaire to offer to move. Weeks passed and as a bit of tease we got this message in a bottle from our little cat.
Tumblr media
By the time Blair finally offered to move between my husband and I we had saved up nearly 500 Nook Miles tickets.
I knew the chances weren’t good. Other people who had hunted for Raymond had spent thousands of tickets looking for him with no success.
On the day we began the hunt I had the day off work. Personally I had only saved up 56 tickets, so while my husband made coffee I started the search.
A few tries in I met Marshal, a smug squirrel who was also very cute, and I will confess I had a small temptation to invite him onto our island, but I very much missed our cat so I passed him up.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t long before I ran out of tickets with no success, so I let my husband search while I made breakfast.
It was only a few minutes before I heard my husband cry out, “OMG I can’t believe it.” I walked into the living room and sure enough there he was Raymond sitting next to a fire on a mystery island. It was my husband's second attempt.
Tumblr media
Overjoyed to have our cat back we have now set up his welcome home signs both next to his house and near the plaza.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Welcome Home Raymond!

i’m not really as bitter about the lack of content in new horizons as others.
i acknowledge that there’s a severe lack of new events, items, and missing npcs, and while i still really hope that the devs add them in i understand why they aren’t there in the first place.
i followed this game from reveal up until release, and i noticed that nintendo was really pushing that the game would have free updates adding new events, items, and npcs. i’m guessing that’s the “gimmick” they wanted this game to have, adding new updates to simulate events rolling around in real life. i applaud them for that, it’s a very unique idea that takes advantage of the switch’s built in internet connectivity and frequent updates in a way that no other animal crossing game has (the closest thing is the welcome amiibo update in new leaf). except there was one factor that threw a wrench in the entire plan: the covid-19 pandemic.
japan was hit pretty hard, even with strict quarantining guidelines and masks already being a common courtesy, and a few months ago there was another massive flareup. game development studios were hit especially hard, due to people being in close quarters and constantly interacting. i think that’s something that a lot of people tend to forget. nintendo, being a video games company based in japan, was already slammed by this outbreak, and will continue to be until it’s cut down to manageable levels. we saw that with other nintendo games, as there were very few major releases at the peak of the pandemic. i understand that video games are a form of escapism, and a lot of people are looking forward to them to help pass the time, but developers are people as well who are being affected by the same crisis that consumers are.
that explains, at least to me, why new horizons doesn’t have as much content as people want or expect. the release coincided with the covid-19 pandemic, the the developers have been unable to produce the level of update content that they originally planned. there have been updates, but they’re mostly new furniture items and small events, such as the may day maze and the wedding season.
i really hope that now that vaccines are rolling out and production is starting to pick up again that the dev team has the opportunity to add larger updates and substantial new features. the addition of dodo airlines shipping items back to your home seems to allude to a new place we can visit where we might need to make space in our inventory, maybe kapp’n’s island (since that feature is similar to the lobby box in new leaf). we’ll just have to wait and see if a new update is on the horizon (pun entirely intended).

animal crossing direct thoughts
I should have posted my wish list for the direct -_- but I was pleasantly surprised that they finished adding the basics 2 years later before they added dlc ...
but then again, I’m very easy to please and don't really think about things until I see someone with big brain energy thinking...
also my serious thoughts are at the very bottom
Brewster
Glad he’s back, after almost 2 years...
Hopefully Celeste gets her observatory to make the museum symmetrical but after this being the “Last Major Free Update,“ I don’t see that happening
No cafe job shown but I hope we do get one
Hopefully NPCs that show up are on a constant schedule for when they show up at the cafe (not daily but like weekly or even bi-weekly)
Glad you can invite friends and amiibo but i don't have any :(
Kapp’n
No Kapp’n family in sight
1000 nook miles!!!!!????? (that kind of expensive...)
Vines are interesting !! and pretty.
Glad for new fauna.
Different times and seasons for the new mystery islands are exciting but I hope they’re going to be mini games!
Harv
Hariiiiiiiettttt
Reese and Cyrus are back !!!!
Katrina !!!!
Tortimer!!!!
I wish you can only get these new hair styles from Harriett
Happy to see some sort of main street come back to animal crossing
We got exercising back from Population Growing!!
Motions controls too!! it sound fun!!!!!
Ordinances - i wasn't really missing them but i’m glad they're back for those who wanted them
More customization and expansion always welcomed
Cooking DIYs/Veggies
Cooking finally being implemented into the game
Love the new crops tho
But nowhere to put them, i need to terraform again :(
Woah the foods!! And you can make flour and sugar
I’m glad that this is going to be before Harvest festival
Design and Customization
Accent walls, oooohhh
Glad to see things from HHD being implemented, nice
Custom fencing -- white fencing that everyone wanted
Everyone can make there white fence suburbia now!
New reactions !! hopefully Shrunk Funk Shuffle is in there.
Camera Updates: Reactions from characters that are in the photo are cute!
Custom designs we can wear, i feel like we should have been there this whole time?
It seems like in other games the ability to wear/decorate with custom designs was always there
Again, there should have been hairstyles exclusive to harriet just so we have something to go back to her for
New fencing! they look sooo cool! and more bridges and ramps!
External storage shed, glad it’s there now
Should have been implemented with the first storage expansion.. but super convenient
ADB - Super convenient
New K.K. singles dropped and cute music box(es)
The ladder set up kit is really neat!!
I hope there’s no limit to how many ladders you can have
I love that it’s less bulky than the staircases/ramps
Squeezing into tight spaces is sick - Didn’t HHD have this feature?
House visits  - They’re back!!
Finally!
and new villagers! woahh
Gyroids
Watering fragments is super cool
Gyroids, my beloved
The new designs are super cute
Love that you can customize
Hopefully Brewster can store them this time
What I wanted but didn’t see
No Nook Shop updates
No Celeste observatory
No bananas in sight or the other tropical fruit
No returning furniture sets
Last free update *distress emote*
But we take away everything that was already set up in previous games what exactly is new to ACNH?
All this to say Nintendo added what should have been there from day a year and a half later. I really don't want to hear people say “Oh they finally listen to us!!” because  they started working on ACNH close after the release of New Leaf so they pretty much had this all planned out but for what? Why release (what is now considered) base game updates almost 2 years later?
also i change my mind about being happy about HHP being 25, it should have been like the welcome amiibo update because these “free updates“ should have been in the game since day 1

New Year’s Eve House Party
I decked out my house and invited everyone over for a party! This wasn’t just for the sake of fun - AND IT WAS RAGIN’ GOOD FUN. But I’ve had the idea of restarting my island. I do that pretty often with sim games - once I’ve played through a bit and learn how it works, I start again with my better understanding and have a better start.
I’ll be carrying over some of my items, especially the seasonal ones that I wouldn’t be able to replace for a long while. But I am considering bringing in new villagers too. I love these guys a lot, but I’m ready for a fresh new beginning. And I have all their amiibo cards, so I have a hunch they’ll be visiting the new Emidori often ;)
Tumblr media
Rosie and Cherry were more than enthusiastic to be our evening entertainment. Zell grooved along while I took copious photos of the event:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shari and Alice talked about all their New Year’s resolutions. I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but they sure sounded excited about their plans:
Tumblr media
It wasn’t that late into the night before Flora fell asleep. Willow tried to wake her because she knew Flora wouldn’t want to miss any of the fun, but when Flora’s out, she is OUT:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Biff and Hamlet had some friendly competition over how much muscle mass they gained over 2020 and got advice from each other on workout routines to use in the new year:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course we all knew where to expect Papi for the night - hanging out at the snack table. He wanted to make sure that when midnight hit, he had a piece of cake in his hand...but the cake didn’t make it ‘til midnight:
Tumblr media
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

re: acnh 2020
i wanna post this on twitter but it’s super fucking long
Recently, I saw a video about playing acnh during quarantine vs afterwards and it inspired me to start playing again. The guy in the video basically had the same experience I did where he played for hours during March/April 2020, trying to catch up/compete with his friends but ultimately ended up overwhelmed and discouraged knowing that he just...never would.
iirc, I played every day from March 20th to around the end of May/early June. There was just so much I wanted to do and it wasn't just my friends' islands I'd compare mine to, but also like...hundreds of people on the internet who'd post their amazing designs and layouts. It's not like I was unhappy with my island, but I knew certain things just weren't possible for me to create and that frustrated me. Every morning as soon as I woke up, I’d open ACNH so I could:
check my mail
buy/sell turnips (I spent HOURS on turnip exchange)
water my hybrid flower patches
check nook’s crossing for new items
check town hall’s catalogue for new items
check able and sister’s for new clothes
collect the daily DIY in a bottle
harvest foreign fruit from my (4) groves
Outside of my morning routine, I’d spent even more time doing construction on the island, decorating my home, flying to friends’ islands for DIYs or cataloguing, making pro designs, searching for rare islands and cuter villagers, trying to catch all the seasonal bugs and fish, so on and so forth. It was extremely fun, but after 2 months, it began to wear on me. The beginning of the end was definitely the Flick Incident.
To sum things up neatly, one of my friends and I began storing our bugs so we could sell them to Flick at a higher price. Even though most guides at the time said that Flick should visit every 2 weeks, he didn’t show up on my island until ~5 weeks after I’d started stashing my bugs. It was torture because I’d wake up every morning hoping that today was finally the day I could stop playing from 5-7pm just to farm expensive butterflies, could stop having an entire section of my island lag horribly because there were so many bugs in one spot, could finally earn my bells and begin construct on the spaces taken up. And every day for 5-ish weeks, he wasn’t there. Everyday, I became angrier and angrier. On top of that, I was still trying to get my island to 5*, get KK to come, search every night for shooting stars to get DIY materials, get more bells so I could expand my home-- it was just a mess. I had random, ugly villagers I hated but couldn’t afford to spend hours searching for new ones. I’d spend about 3-4 hours a week searching for the islands with good turnip prices and low visit fees. All the while, I’m still trying to copy other people’s designs to make my island look nicer. (I also went back to work in May while I was enrolled in a summer class, so there’s some extra outside stress.)
All this to say, there were a lot of things making me unhappy and waiting for Flick was adding fuel to the fire. But eventually Flick came and I got my bells. I finished my big plan for a playground area. I wished on lots of shooting stars. I made millions of bells on turnips. I reached my last house expansion. Things were...okay. Just okay because by now, I was forcing myself to play. Near the end, I was so tired of the game, I’d finish my morning routine and not touch it until the next day. The very last straw was when I started crying over the prospect of buying $30-50 amiibo cards. I had like this moment of clarity like...why the fuck am I crying over a video game? Because I don’t want to spend more money on it? Because I’ve grown that frustrated? If I’m unhappy, then what’s the point of playing?
I still played every morning for maybe a week after that, but one day I kinda told myself, “If I don’t wanna play anymore, then just stop” and so I did. Everyday became once every few days, then once a week, then...nothing. I felt disappointment that there was seemingly nothing left I wanted to do on my island, but I also felt intense relief not forcing myself to play anymore.
So, fast forward a year and some change after launch and I watch this video. After taking a break from the game, he talks about how he came back and learned to just...enjoy it. For himself, at his own pace. And then I started to wonder if 10 months was long enough for me to restart. So I charged my dead switch and started to play.
I think today is the...3rd(?) day in a row I’ve opened acnh. Most of my friends don’t play anymore and those who do don’t post about their islands often. I don’t have switch online now, so it’s not like I can them visit either. I feel like I’ve missed a lot, but I’m excited to try things differently this time. Maybe I’ll make it to Fall this year. Or maybe I’ll be stop after the bug tourney. I’m not sure. Now is not the best time in my life to dive headfirst back into playing but I don’t know. Maybe just for this spring break, I need a little time to myself and this is how I’ll get it.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power S02E04 - Roll With It
Tumblr media
Huh. Interesting title. There have been some changes in the lives of some of the main characters so maybe it's about how they are reacting to them. Catra with being effectively demoted after Entrapta managed to catch Hordrak's attention, or maybe Glimmer with everything that has happened? Although I guess Adora is the one who hasn't really dealt yet with everything that's been happening to her so it could be her way of postponing doing that.
I don’t know, so let’s do this!
Tumblr media
I thought Glimmer was usually the leader in these missions, interesting. Is Adora's training with Light Hope taking effect?
Tumblr media
Welp, I guess Bow is dead now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wait, wait, what? Why are they taking it so seriously like they'd actually let Bow die?
It has to be a dream, right? But who's? She-Ra was the leader so it'd make sense if it was her having stress nightmares.
Tumblr media
...oh, they are playing a RPG. Okay then, nevermind all that tragic stuff.
Also, why don't figures that look like that exist?
Tumblr media
Look at that! It's so cute! It's like a She-Ra amiibo! Or a Nendoroid maybe?
Tumblr media
Are they actually using a tabletop rpg to plan out their missions? Because that's awesome. And weird. How would an observation check work in real life?
Tumblr media
I mean, they can't count on having rainbow powers so there'll always be some improvisation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm dying at the show's suddenly getting out the sad strings for this joke.
Tumblr media
It's either going to be Kyle or Scorpia, right?
Also, Adora is really showing some cracks under the pressure. I understand her being serious about it but her attitude seems a bit beyond that.
Tumblr media
there you go
Tumblr media
Oh Scorpia, I missed you.
Tumblr media
I mean, Scorpia is a Force Captain. How does the horde's hierarchy work anyway? Catra is also a Force Captain but in charge of... everything below Hordrak?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We should all strive to be as positive as Scorpia.
Tumblr media
So far I've been kinda joking about Scorpia having a crush not really believing it'd go beyond some insinuation and jokes but there aren't a lot of other ways to interpret that line. Poor Scorpia, they are really setting her up to get horribly disappointed and/or hurt at some point, huh?
Anyway, what's Catra doing? Preparing for the season finale?
Tumblr media
That slow blink is such a perfect reaction image, even though it only works in context.
Tumblr media
This is extremely cute and now everything I want is for Scorpia to be happy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't remember if the lizard guy has a name, but he looks like he regrets waking up that morning.
Tumblr media
I just realized that the episode title is probably about Adora accepting that she can't plan everything in advance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the coolest and most unexpected thing I have seen this week. Wow. It kinda feels like a direct reference to something but I'm not sure what, but it does have the feel of the 80s, especially with all that purple neon aesthetic.
And Kyle's pompadour is the absolute best and he'd gain the instant respect and love of everyone in the Horde if he managed to get that haircut.
Tumblr media
I really missed Glimmer. She may not have the most strategic or realistic of plans but damn she's going to look awesome while executing it and isn't that the most important goal of all?
Tumblr media
Actually, they need to change reality to make Glimmer's plan viable because now I want to watch that show.
Tumblr media
"Fee Fi Fo Fugh so annoying"
Tumblr media
There's absolutely no way Glimmer would have resisted using her powers long enough to make this the first time they detect them.
Tumblr media
Wow, soldiers. Can't wait to not see them during the attack.
Tumblr media
This episode could kill everyone by the end and I'd still walk away thinking it was awesome just because of these scenes.
Tumblr media
Catra did capture Glimmer and then completely bamboozled them when they captured her so... it kinda makes sense that Glimmer sees her as some slick and sophisticated super villain.
Tumblr media
Noooo, don't interrupt that line.
Tumblr media
After seeing the awesomeness of Glimmer's imagination, I want to see what Bow's plan.
Tumblr media
Rooting for the villains here.
Tumblr media
"mom?"
Tumblr media
One more thing to crush Scorpia's heart when it inevitably gets destroyed.
Tumblr media
I hope someday the Horde will become accessible to everyone, including those with claws for hands.
Tumblr media
"Scorpia fails to do something with her claws" is the one joke in She-Ra that feels weirdly cruel.
Tumblr media
Mermista flexing her kingdom's budget with her custom articulated Revoltech figure vs Bow's nendoroids.
Tumblr media
Yessssss
Tumblr media
The biggest lore drop so far, Glimmer watched anime when she was a kid, Bow watched 80s cartoons.
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD
Those are the original costumes, right? Poor, poor Mermista.
Tumblr media
This is absolutely amazing.
Tumblr media
Yup, still amazing.
Tumblr media
Isn't that the reason why all the characters have the same body in the original show? They are really having fun with this episode.
Tumblr media
Undertale, 2015
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adora's rage counter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...I mean, how do you argue with that?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This episode keeps getting better and better.
Tumblr media
Bow's nod is just * chef's kiss *
Tumblr media
SEA-RA
Tumblr media
Oooh, this is going to be good.
Tumblr media
I hesitate to mention a specific site because I have no idea where kids post OCs and self-insert fics these days but, wherever it is, Frosta is 100% there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The best part is that Mermista keeps being the only who likes Frosta's edgy OC.
Tumblr media
Yeah, she's definitely posting that OC fanart everywhere.
Tumblr media
oh my god this episode
Tumblr media
Scorpia is going to take their OCs seriously, isn't she?
Tumblr media
This is reaaally not going to help fight the Horde's "the princesses are evil and can't control their powers" propaganda.
Tumblr media
How is it possible for the episode to keep outdoing itself.
Tumblr media
Another example of the princesses' disregard for the lives of the innocent. That child had a family!
Tumblr media
There's always a lower place on the totem pole.
Tumblr media
Wow, perfectly accurate. I had no idea Perfuma understood Catra so deeply.
Tumblr media
Catra is rocking those sunglasses.
Tumblr media
I have nothing to write, this screenshot is perfect as-is.
Tumblr media
Everyone writing their awesome self-insert fics while Adora writes angst and hurt/comfort.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This episode has been absolutely amazing so far but I was waiting for Adora to explode at some point. I'm glad she's finally telling them about the pressure she's feeling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That went from hilarious to sad to heartwarming in like 60 seconds.
Tumblr media
...the tower is going to be empty, isn't it?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unexpectedly cute.
Tumblr media
THANK YOU
Tumblr media
oh my god, I'm speechless at everything that's going on
Tumblr media
I just found out your name, Rogelio! You can't die now!
Tumblr media
welp, rip.
Tumblr media
It looks like no one told Scorpia how Glimmer escaped Shadow Weaver.
Tumblr media
I can't tell if Scorpia didn't meant to kill Glimmer so she threw her where she was safe or if she did it on accident.
Tumblr media
aw, they were waiting for her
Tumblr media
It's the hair, main, the hair. This wouldn't have happened if he had a pompadour.
What an amazing episode to come back to, even though I ended up watching it in pieces (I watched a bit in March before the hiatus). Somehow it managed to get better every time I pressed play.
I don't really have a lot to say because the episode was mostly comedy but almost every joke landed for me. I'm just a tiny bit worried about what an episode so funny means for the season since Adora's explosion wasn't as big of a downer as it could have been. Was this the breather before it all goes to pot?
In any case, I'm glad Adora opened up at least a bit, that I got to hear Glimmer doing an "oh ho ho" laugh and that everyone got their chance to shine with their roleplaying abilities.
Until next time!

I have not done a Buenoburg update in a while, so here’s a dump.
Tumblr media
One of my projects lately has been trying to get the photos of all of my villagers that I care about and might replace in the future. So far I have four. The two on the left are my OG villagers, Billy and Fuschia. I really like them, but the starter houses are awful, so I might get rid of them and call them back later with amiibos. I know I’ll have to start over from beginning on the friendship with them if I do that, though.
Tumblr media
The QA Birdwing model is HUGE, and I put it one side of my museum entrance area. I wanted a big fish model for the other side, so here I am lamenting that the coelacanth model is TOO SMALL. Why aren’t the fish models big too? I want a big honking one!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve decorated most of my big areas of land, so I’ve just been adding decorations to smaller areas lately, like my villager’s yards. I haven’t gotten the kiddie pool item yet, but I really want it for the yard of one of my lazy villagers, Benedict. And yes, I really like incorporating the natural rocks into my decorations as well, so there’s a little rock garden amongst my flower beds.
My next big plan is to turn the third tier of my island into a midnight garden. It will have all blue, purple, and black flowers, and the statue DIYs you get from Celeste. I’m currently working on breeding flowers to get all the rare ones. I’m still missing the purple tulip, purple pansy, and blue rose. I’m also going to need a lot of star fragments to make that dream into a reality.
I’m pretty happy with my island, though. It’s gotten to the point where I’m not playing obsessively for hours and hours, which is nice. I definitely log on several times a day to do my daily “chores,” but it still feels like fun and not a huge effort. I might try to do a video tour tomorrow.

things a new rp partner should know about me !
fun new meme here ! write 3-5 things a rp partner (or those who want to be) should know about you and tag 3-5 people! it should be related to rp and not to other interests.

[ONE]: I WORK A FULL-TIME JOB AT MCDONALDS. At the moment I work 11am-5pm due to reduced opening hours and having to rely on buses. Normally I work 8:30am-4:30pm but tend to stay on most days since ya know. Waiting for buses. Because of this my weekdays I’m rarely on due to the time I get home and sort things out it’s usually approaching 9pm. Right now it’s closer to 7pm since earlier bus and that. Even then I’m pretty tired as my work is exhausting so I tend to be more active at the weekends because of that.
[TWO]: I’M SELF TAUGHT IN GRAPHIC EDITING. All my graphics, I make myself. I started with basics when I started RPing 8 years ago. But I only started taking it seriously about 4 years ago when I joined the Undertale RPC. I’m extremely proud of every graphic I make as I tend to spend a lot of time making them. This tends to span between 2-10 hours usually depending on what I’m making and if I need to find resources. I put so much effort in each graphic I make and I’m always trying to push myself to try new and learn new things when possible. My family don’t know this skill of mine though. I’d like to have the courage to show them one day.
[THREE]: I COLLECT A LOT OF THINGS. I collect Nintendo Amiibos, Pop Vinyls, Enamel Pins, Charms, Misc Figurines from things I like, Pokemon Plushies, Tsum Tsums and League of Legend stuff. A bunch of my stuff is still at a friends house from Uni. Like a few of my anime figurines and a good like 15 Pop Vinyls. I plan to get them sent over eventually. If you’re ever interested in seeing said collections then do feel free to ask me. I rather like my collections and wish to expand them even if involves decorating another pin board for the Enamel Pins and Charm collection.
[FOUR]: I REALLY LIE MAGICAL GIRL/BOY SERIES. I just really like these kinds of shows. Like they where the kind I grew up with to an extent. Tokyo Mew Mew and Winx Club where the first ones and after I was old enough to use a computer properly I started watching other anime series based on magical girls. I own the majority of the Puella Magica manga series and from League of Legends the Star Guardian Series which is a Magical Girl/Boy skin line for the game. I own all the figurines bar one that I missed from a set as I wasn’t able to afford them at the time plus own all the enamel pins so far. I’m aiming to get the plushies based on the familars and a jacket based on the series at some point.
[FIVE]: I AM AN ASEXUAL LESBIAN. And I am proud of this. I’m more vocal about it online on social media where family isn’t concerned and around friends. Majority of my family do know this about me but it doesn’t get talked about really. But they’re supportive at least. I’m just not confident to put up the flags I own as I don’t wish to be harassed by a certain family member who likes to cause me grief over how I decorate my room and my interests. I don’t see them often but I’d just... Rather not deal with them as I know they’ll just question me on why I even have it up in the first place and not see why I would have it up. But I will whenever I have my own place which I will hopefully be able to get soon enough.

get to know me meme thing
list 15 things that make you happy, and then tag 10 others to do it!
i was tagged bh @thedragonagelesbian, thank u uwu
1. my cats. it's not even an exaggeration to say that my cats are one of my reasons for living and have literally saved my life/stopped me from doing something self destructive just by simply existing and looking at me with their :3 faces. my cats truly are my children i even call them 'kids'.
2. my friends! specifically my little group of akira, isaac, knife and elm. we've become so close the past few years and i'd truly die and kill for each of them.
3. animal crossing! new horizons is my first ever animal crossing game and i'm so glad that i got into it and that isaac was generous enough to get the whole group copies so that we can play together. i love it so much i'm thinking if doing amiibo coin commissions when i settle in designs owo
4. persona 5 royal. the original persona 5 game was something i played when i was at an all time low in my life, it was one of a few games that kept me sane following attempted suicide. it's also the reason me and my small group of friends even became friends in the first place! so getting to play it again and experience new things with them has been a lot of fun.
5. my fish. them being this low on the list isn't a rating or anything i just forgot for a second until i remembered to feed them sndjxkfkv. one of my special interests is fish keeping and i love these little dudes a lot. i hope to breed wild bettas eventually, i already have a betta imbellis girl!
6. d&d. another thing that brought the groip together! we all Really got close through dnd, and i found a passion for dming. the re attempt of a live play of a campaign is still in the planning stages, but thar aside i'm having a lot of fun dming for my group. it's also a lot of fun to see akira starting to dm and getting to play in the world he makes for us as well.
7. related to dnd, writing and art in general. i've always been creative and enjoy making things. i also role play a lot and have an... extensive au rp set going on with akira rn.
8. horror movies. yea ik it's not what you'd expect to be on a list of things that make you happy, but despite being a paranoid pussy i love horror movies, and the horror genre as a whole. today me, akira and elm watched Us and it was great to see it again and appreciate the art of it.
9. ff14. now that i have money (and also... a Lot of time) i've slowly started to get back into mmos again, specifically ff14. another thing the group shares, and i also just enjoy it for the gameplay and the story can be very exciting and interesting.
10. overwatch. akira got me into it and now we all play it casually. i'm a moira main,,, but i do love to play bap, lucio, reinhardt, dva, hanzo, soldier, sym, sombra, and recently echo. echo is a LOT of fun and i might have her as my main dps.
11. nutella. just finished a jar of it.
12. me? gongaga.
13. the fact that later next week, i'm finally gonna be able to get a dishwasher and no longer have to force myself to be in pain standing at a sink to wash the dishes.
13. cows, chickens, farming in general. i follow a few farming blogs and as a kid i used to live near to and help out on a farm. i miss it, and while physically i don't think id ever be able to do it again, it's nice to see what others are up to. and also play sdv.
14. me? gongaga.
15. knitting. i made myself some little hand warmer things (not gloves bc i can't do those yet) during the winter and it's relaxing.
i tag Uhhhhh @transdimitri @personatwink @shihosuzui @ghoulification @commander-ledi and YOU do it if u want bc i can't think of 10 ppl uwuwuwuwuwuwuwu
