Can someone please explain to me how Disney’s Descendants had Hades (before he was revealed to be Mal’s father) going from looking like this in the cartoon shorts:

Extremely accurate to his original design. No fire hair since I guess he’s supposed to look more “normal and human-like” but at least the hair style suits him. Looks like a slicked back, sleazy business man hairdo lol.

Looks NOTHING like his original design (not even with the hair) and hardly acts like the original Hades (he acts and dresses like a washed up rock star rather than a sleazy, bitter used car salesman, I could tell they tried to make up for it with him being all sarcastic and sassy, but it didn’t have the same effect the original Hades had).

So bizarre to me lmao. I mean, I know the original Hades is hard to replicate since his facial structure borderlines inhuman, but c’mon. I’ve seen the live actors at Disneyworld and Disneyland and I’ve seen cosplayers that do a better Hades than this. I know this is basically a big ol “modern fairytale au” of the Disney universe so everyone looks fairly human, but I mean, if you can’t look like Hades then at least ACT like Hades, y’know?

But then again, I’m not surprised because a lot of the original villains in the Descendants series were ooc. Like Cruella was no longer this snobbish woman who loves all things fashion. She was basically insane. Talking to a fake dog plushie and acting crazy while also having a huge fear/hatred of dogs. Maleficent was no longer the mistress of all evil, very regal and refined, and scared you out of your wits with one look from her. She was turned into this silly, quirky Broadway singing villainess that was obsessed with power. So…yeah, as I said, doesn’t surprise me that Hades’ personality changed in the movie series. But still as a Hades simp, I would’ve really liked to see Hades portrayed accurately.

I think my number one favorite across all gens would have to be Frankie Stein! My second fave is Spectra of course and my third would have to be Twyla Boogey man!

Frankie was one of the two very first monster high dolls I got as a kid (they were the ghouls alive dolls)

When I hit 18 I finally read Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and it completely changed my brain chemistry. I love that Frankie is living the life that could have drastically changed the creature’s outcome. They live in a family and go to a school where they are loved and accepted for who they are, scars and all. I hope they get to live a long happy life 🖤

I personally like the studious fashion that’s been leaning more emo lately.

Spectra V was the second ghoul I got on the same christmas I got Frankie so I always associated her with Jacob Marley from The Christmas Carol. I wanna create a scary chain shaking scene with her eventually (btw one of my all time favorite depiction of The Christmas Carol; besides the muppets version, is Mr.Magoo’s Christmas Carol)

I always loved ghost characters idk why I just found the idea of someone’s spirit still lingering long after they have died fascinating. I also love the darker look her first gen core outfit has. I blame her for my obsession with laced up boots and corsets. It’s fun to think about how she got chained up. I notice she has a lock and key theme on her other gen 1 dolls, I wonder if her sins and guilt involve secrets.

I’m autistic myself and seeing a character just out right say they are autistic is really refreshing. Not to sound corny but I teared up a little bit when I first saw the scene. I relate to her song too

I also have to mention third gen Abbey Bominable and Catty Nior. Specifically third gen! They’re my mom’s absolute favorites! Their monster qualities are more prominent while still being beautiful. She loves the new body molds for the ghouls. It’s really sweat to see wider variety of bodies types in a doll line 🖤

I think 7 would just be really funny if I made like a 8 hour video meticulously going through the whole plot trying to fix everything

number 4 would be about corpanga, miggie (maddie and diggie from liv and maddie) and lutteo because I think there are some similarities and differences that would be fun to talk about

number 8 is basically catagorising all the disney channel brothers into nerd vs troublemaker, maybe a sub catagory of stupid

10-12 would essentially be the same style of videos as quinton reviews NCU series, like episode by episode recap while also looking into lore and stuff (currently there are 9 seasons I think, so it would be 3 seasons per video/essay)

number 13 is purely because SOMEONE needs to write or make a video about backstage it is such a good show and criminally underrated

number 9 in a similar way because not enough people are talking about the TRAVESTY that was the icarly reboot getting cancelled i just have to make something about that

The more I think about Distrinct 12 and the 10th hunger games, and Dr. Gaul, and Snow, and Lucy and Katniss ..... the more I really do think there are connections beyond just similar aspects to them.

Like, we know that the 10th games was locked away and never touched again, unlike other games. We also know that the districts cannot so easily view the games. The only way a district can 100% know they got a Victor was for there tribute to return at this point in time. Not every reaping, not every second of the games, etc is scene ..... it be so easy to manipulate the districts right after this ans elimate the name Lucy Gray as a victor.

Only 12 would know. Only 12 would be aware ... at least until Snow returned to the Capitol and she too seems to disappear and then Gaul and him are not likely to let 12 remember either. So, how is it, 64 years later ... after painstaking manipulation and propaganda to erase the 1pth Hunger Game victor .... Katniss herself is aware that 12 has had 2 Victor's, she names Haymitch ... but not Lucy Gray.

I've seen people talk about reapings being rigged and all this really makes me think that 12s likely are. Snow does not like District 12, the fact Katniss emerges as a reminder of all the reasons why only feeds into how the books play out. He strived to erase Lucy Gray, yet Katniss knows of a victor besides Haymitch. This implies she was taught of Lucy Gray. The school wouldn't, couldn't, do that. Peacekeepers likely have orders to ensure this district doesn't utter that name, to look out for things associated with it (the Covey broken down, no longer calling themselves that).

We know that the merchant class and seam class do not mix, not entirely, from Lucy Gray time to Katniss time. This includes even the Covery. District 12 is separated in that way, as such its likely the seam that teaches of the 10th games. Of the covey. Their songs. The miners from the seam using what they think is the security of the mine to pass their history, their family stories, etc between each other .... the songs live in this way. The tales of their ancestors thrive in this way. Snow let's it, it doesn't echo above ground. It's no threat, to many "accidents" to many punishments and he knows what can happen. But one day someone (I HC it as Katniss' dad) begins to teach a new song. One that starts with "everyone's born as clean as a whistle"

And Snow just happens to have the feed playing that day. Running in the background of his office. Or perhaps he has stopped by a monitoring room. Either way, he hears those words, knows them well ... and with a few simple calls this song won't make it above ground. He gets a call sometime later, time has passed, two children are beyond the fence ... a violation. He let's it slide .... for now. The father was punished, should have for the hunting years ago ... overtime he realizes the district, the entire district, needs to remember a valuable lesson. The Capitol knows what they do ... the girls sister is of age. Reaping her will be a way to remind the district that they cannot continue with their violations without punishment... that's what the games are here for, are they not.

Of course, the sister volunteers.

Imagine if she stood upon the stage with Ceasar, told it was such a pity 12 only had the one victor, and she looked out into the world to utter the destructive words of "Oh no, Ceasar, but we don't have just one. We had another ... she's a mystery who got away leaving us with only her songs."
