Akeshu Daughter from the future in Mpreg Akiren During Strikers AU:

Credit to “@iftheworldendsinflames” for bringing up the idea. 

She originally brought up the idea for the “Mpreg Akiren during Strikers” idea, but I could see this working for a couple scenarios, I’ll split them into separate posts.

So, one plot issue with this particular scenario is “Why would Komari be there in the first place?” Since most “from the future” plots, have said person from the future come to the past to warn someone of something, or to fix or prevent something bad from happening themselves. 

For this case, there’s nothing really world endangering or life threatening in Strikers that could be perilous to Komari and her future, so what if she got sent to the past somehow by accident and so her goal is to get back home and she needs the assistance of the Phantom Thieves but at the same time, obviously can’t fully reveal why and who exactly she is as that might rewrite her original reality she’s from, or worse, erase her from existence entirely. 

So, she goes “undercover” in a sense. She keeps her first name, but goes by a different allies off the fly after nearly fucking up her cover—

“I’m Komari Ama—--uh—-Ake—-Ah–ak—ak–a–gi? Yes! Akagi. Komari Akagi, that’s me!” 

Inspired after remembering a Japanese Jazz pianist with that surname. That kanji spelling of  Akagi translates to “Red Castle” which—is unintentionally similar to the meaning of “Amamiya” which means “Rain Palace”. So already she’s made a subtle whoopsie. 

I like to think Akechi would also take his child to the Jazz Jin to keep the tradition and so Komari grew up listening to the Jazz Genre and probably came across the name Akagi by listening to one of his songs. 

Out of panic and memory, she chooses the surname which also translates to something similar to what one of her fathers surname means, it’s too late to pick a different name so all she can do is internally hope and pray they don’t catch on.

She does openly tell the Thieves things about herself if asked or randomly if a subject reminds her of her upbringing, but of course nothing outright

Like, she obviously can’t say: “My Parents are Ren Amamiya and Goro Akechi”. But she brings up in passing “Oh I don’t have a “mom” I have two dads actually.”

“Oh, you’re adopted then?”

“No, one of my dads gave birth to me.”

“...........Wha?” Everyone is puzzled as hell at that response until they remember “Oh wait, we have a pregnant male party member.”

Ryuji jokes that Ren and Komari’s dad should meet one day so they can bond over pregnancy experiences. Komari laughs in response but internally is freaking out because “I’m in deeper shit than I thought. Not only did I go back in time, I got dropped in the year I was born, Ren is my dad, he’s pregnant with me.”

She actively avoids interacting with the newborn version of herself to avoid a paradox. One of the Thieves notices this and asks her why she doesn’t seem to want to be around the baby, and she doesn’t want to come off as rude or heartless so she doesn’t want to use the “Oh, I don’t like children” excuse, so she stammers out an accidental declaration that she has a crippling phobia of babies. 

Out of instinct she’ll slip up in interactions by acting too familiar with the group, or little genetic quirks and mannerisms inherited from her parents will shine through. Most of them go over the Thieves' heads, but Ren silently takes notice and can’t help but be reminded of Akechi in more ways than one. 

Komari inherited Akechi’s eye color and front bangs of his hair. Hair color wise, is from Ren; black and naturally messy.

Black hair and Brown eyes isn’t that uncommon of an appearance in Japan. But Ren knows those eyes, the reddish brown tint of his allegedly deceased rival. It’s probably why he can’t help but smile fondly when talking and looking at her. He hopes his and Akechi’s unborn daughter inherits the same eyes. 

When meeting Morgana in this timeline for the first time, unlike everyone else’s first reaction to him, Komari doesn’t do the “AH WHATTHEHECKATALKINGCAT?!” thing since she grew up with Morgana so already knows about his ordeal, so purely out of natural instinct she treats him with respect and an individual which gives her good points from him off the bat because “Finally, someone that treats me as an equal. Why can’t you be more like Mari-Chan, Ryuji? I like this girl, I say we’re keeping her!” 

She almost slips up by nearly referring to Ryuji, Yuusuke, Ann, Makoto, Haru and Futaba as “Aunt/Uncle”, more times than she’d like to admit. 

Seems to have a personal hatred for politicians. When asked, she explains “My family doesn’t have good experiences with politicians.” 

Has an unconscious habit of referring to people that anger her as “Trash” under her breath.

Wears black gloves that Ren especially takes notice of. He asks her about them and how they remind him of—-someone he really cared for and misses. Afraid that he could be getting suspicious of her, and immediately regretting responding with “Oh, these belonged to one of my dads.” She waves off the similarity with “Black is a common color for gloves, i’m sure it's just a coincidence.” 

Very—-- “enthusiastic” when fighting shadows in the Metaverse. It scares the shit out of most of the Thieves, except Joker, who gets instant “Third Semester Black Mask Akechi” flashbacks, and tears up while watching the strange yet familiar girl massacre the shadows. 

The Thieves say that Komari reminds them of Ren. Much to Ren’s bewilderment because according to him “Me???? Really, I mean if you say so, but I don’t really see it. Is it our hair color? We both have black and messily textured hair.”

Mari-chan inherited Ren’s humor, playfulness, courage and charisma. When she smiles and interacts with the group, it’s genuine. She’s also naturally honest which could explain why she’s making so many unintentional fuck ups by revealing too much information about herself. She most definitely did not inherit Akechi’s acting and ability to put on a false mask in public and it shows. 

I cannot stress enough how the only thing that would save this poor girl from unintentionally causing a paradox is if the Phantom Thieves and Ren are all simultaneously cursed with sharing one braincell. 

She’s trying, she really is. But if the Akechi from her original timeline could see this he’d be facepalming and sighing in disappointment, then in utter defeat calls Ren over to give him a heads up that there’s going to be some drastic changes to their reality because their lovely pride and joy somehow got herself teleported to the past to the year of her birth and is flopping like a fish out of water at mission “Go undercover and befriend the past versions of my family, reveal that I’m from the future but not my exact identity, so they can hopefully help me return to my reality.” Because he just got reminded that she inherited Ren’s intellect and now they and everyone in their reality is fucked.

Unfortunately, for a number of personal reasons, I was unable to create anything on the occasion of the two babies' birthday, but I hope that a little themed post in the form of a "Japanese lesson with cozmez' will still work as a good wish for them.

Let's get started.

It's ever since I learned, via Hypmic dramas, the name of the BBs' mother that the reality of what lies behind the names of the cozmez is much deeper than I thought, and OH LORD, how could I not have thought about it before?

I have no idea, but let's continue.

Let's start with the twins' surname, Yatonokami (and no, not that Yato god).

It is spelled as it follows: 矢戸乃上

The kanji 矢 stands for "dart, arrow". I'd almost dare to say that it's perfect for the way the cozmez approach the world, always ready to pierce with the lyrics of their songs, almost aggressive and always straight to the point.

The kanji 戸 is the counter for houses, households, apartments... and I find very meaningful the sharp contrasting reference to the living conditions of the two brothers, who can't hold a real place to call home if not the underground.

The kanji 乃 is a possessive particle, which stands for "belonging to"... So it's quite clear the meaning of this one, the twins live solely for each other.

Finally, the kanji 上 stands for "above, top, over, up", and it's clear the reference to the cozmez's constant attempts to redeem themselves, to never give up and, as they often quote in their songs, to go "from the bottom to the top".

Let's now move on to their names.

First of all, Kanata. It's spelled like this: 珂波汰.

The meaning of the three kanjis is, respectively, "jewel", "waves" and "luxury" but the most interesting thing is its pronunciation, because it's pronounced as the word "boundary, border", and this is so much in line with Kanata's personality!

If you think about it, Kanata is, of the two, the more narrow-minded, the more conservative, and the less likely to expand his core of comfort people.

Kanata is impulsive, grumpy and often seems to look at the world with blinkers on. He's fine with his brother and only him. He's satisfied like this and does not need anything else.

As regards Nayuta, on the other hand, his name is spelled as follows: 那由汰.

As you can see, the last kanji is the same as the last one in Kanata's name, perhaps as an oxymoron to indicate the contrast between their poor living conditions and the inner wealth, the true love they feel for each other, pure.

The first kanji, instead, means "what?" and the second one means "reason".

The interesting thing is that the pronunciation of Nayuta's name is, indeed, the same as "infinity".

Nayuta is, in fact, the one more prone to expand his horizon, the one who would do anything to see his brother befriend someone, the one who is more open-minded, who reflects a few more seconds before speaking, and who sees further ahead, always with a view to the common good of the two, but still not precluding relationships with other people or the possibility of experiencing new things, concepts that Kanata almost viscerally abhors lol.

Nayuta is, as the second kanji of his name confirms, the light of reason between the two, the one who is able to calm tempers and make Kanata think even when he's rambling.

SO! a few days ago i decided to start drawing Bakugou and maybe do a series where i make my own versions of some of the MHA characters in my style along with a couple of headcanons i have.

The headcanons are under "read more" along with a surprise >w>

-Katsuki was named by his dad as a homage to Mitsuki, who had to go through emergency surgery after birth while Masaru rocked lil baby Kacchan in his arms trying to calm him down, eventually the newborn falls asleep when Masaru hums some lullabies to him, the moment he was no longer in his father's arms, Kacchan woke up with one of the loudest cries in the hospital, his mom still remembers the migraines;

-Katsuki met Izuku after the boys met on a sidewalk and they talked about heroes and all of that, unknowingly introducing All Might to Deku, but neither tell each other their names until they meet again with their moms, both women shocked that their sons have met already;

-After the incident in the river, Kacchan forced Deku to walk far from him, claiming that he did not need his help, however, years later he confessed that not only he regrets knocking his hand away due to pride, but also because he actually sprained his ankle in the fall, so he was walking weird on the way home and had to put on a cast and a gel for his muscles that smelled really bad, the blonde does not get angry when Izuku bursts out laughing when he said that "the gel smelled just like my grandma";

-Speaking of grandma, Masaru's mother had accused Mitsuki of cheating on him because, in that family, every one of her sisters had granddaughters, Masaru was quick to cut ties with her but she came back when she heard her grandson was now the number one hero, she said that he was honoring the family name, only Because Masaru did not want his mom to argue with Mitsuki and that was the compromise they got cause otherwise he would have taken her name, and that it was natural cause they were a family of winners and victory was in their blood. Mitsuki argues that Katsuki did everything on his own, sometimes in a pool of his own blood, but the old lady is persistent that SHE had something to do with this success, only for Katsuki to drop the bomb and also announce his and Izuku's wedding and that he would take Deku's surname, the woman starts yelling at Katsuki before Deku promptly picks her up along with her luggage wheel bag and puts her outside, asking her to not bother them, she still tried to show up to the wedding but thankfully she didn't;

-One of the reasons for Bakugou to give his 1-A classmates weird nicknames is because Bakugou has a certain difficulty in remembering names, he can remember faces really well, hence the nicknames being based mostly on physical features like Mina having dark scleras, Iida is the only student with glasses, Todoroki's split hair, but not names, it can take a long time for Kacchan to memorize the name of someone he just met, also hence why Izuku's nickname is one based on the kanjis forming his name, not his appearance;

-Katsuki develops poor eyesight like his father once he grows up a bit, by his second year at UA, he started to wear glasses and contacts;

-Masaru was the one at home most of the time to take care of Katsuki while Mitsuki went out to work, and while father and son were there, Masaru taught Katsuki how to cook, clean his own room, take out the trash and other domestic activities around the house that needed to be done, leading to Bakugou being the one responsible at the dorms in assigning the activities of each student in his class as well as teaching how to do them the proper way;

-Katsuki starts wearing hearing aids after the war, as his hearing was compromised a bit during combat, and his...nap, it helps that he was already learning sign language;

And now the surprise, i think you all remember the healer Deku drawing i made, well, out of curiosity i decided to see if there were any differences in their height and...I was not disappointed in the slightest

My dear mallas how much more do I need to beat it into you that dfo IS 100% canon and its just your dissapointment how long it takes for the reveal to happen that turns you skeptical?! But please remember how long hori took his time to confirm the dabi is touya theory, despite that pretty much EVERYONE of his readers knew it was canon and that it was obvious since at least the training camp arc. And despite how obvious it was hori needed 10 or so more arcs before he revealed it. The same goes with dfo. Its so damn OBVIOUS at this point that afo is hisashi it hurts and hori is not an idiot. He is absolutely aware that his readers got the hint.

Hori himself confirmed that hisashi WILL show up and play a bigger part in the story, but cant say more, because its to much of an spoiler. He said hisashi will be REVEALED, not "introduced." So its an character we already know and come on WHO is it supposed to be at this point if not afo?! And thanks to @tengoku-izumi being a genius, dfo is pretty much confirmed already even if its not offical, because they found out that the kanjis of the name hisashi hide inside the kanjis of afos prison number 1541. So in other words the tartarus guards literally named afo "hisashi" and call him that when they call him by his prison number! I mean, how much more evidence do you need? The same happened with that one person finding out LONG before the touya reveal, that the kanjis of the name "touya" hide inside the kanjis of dabis birthday, 18 january! Hori is known for hiding informations about his characters in their birthdays and names or in afos case his prison number, because we dont know his birthday yet. Also afos prison number are the ages of izuku and inko at the time he got it and was imprisoned in tartarus. At that time izuku was 15 and inko 41. 1541.

The question is not IF dfo is canon, but HOW hori will deal with it in the story and the way he will reveal it!

1: MPCS(🌙1) and AMSG(🌙2) Ranhime(Michikatsu's wife), Uta, Sumiyoshi, and Suyako; What are your opinions and relationships with the Tsugikuni twins?

Ranhime(MPCS): Well, I've certainly adjusted to their presence. Yoriichi's quite a peaceful presence and Michikatsu doesn't get into trouble. I can't deny that I'm curious about what Michikatsu is like as a human.

Ranhime(AMSG): Michikatsu's an excellent sparring partner, and his determination is admirable. His brother seems nice enough, though I will admit we don't talk much. Yoriichi's certainly unique, I'll say that much.

Uta(MPCS): They're super nice! I know I can talk for a long time, so I try not to talk everyone's ears off, but Yoriichi is actually really nice about it. He listens, even to the most random things I can babble on about. I'm not sure what my exact feelings for him are, but they're nice. Michikatsu's pretty nice, too. Even as a demon, he looks out for his family, and it's very sweet of him!

Uta(AMSG): *squeals* Yoriichi is so cute, and I love hanging out and chatting with him! He's so nice, and his presence is so comforting! I never expected that from a demon! And Michikatsu is such a great brother, working so hard to help Yoriichi become human again!

Sumiyoshi(MPSC): We're pretty good friends. I've carried Michikatsu what few times Yoriichi was injured, and talked to both of them. They're nice. Even if Michikatsu tends to be a bit... overprotective at times.

Sumiyoshi(AMSG): Michikatsu's a bit rough around the edges, but actually pretty nice when you get to know. Yoriichi startled me the first time I saw him. I mean, a demon walking around in the daytime? Not something you see on a normal day. Then again, things have been anything but normal since meeting them. But they're my friends, and I'm willing to fight for them.

Suyako(MPSC): Yoriichi's very nice. I don't really interact with Michikatsu much, unfortunately, but I'm sure he's just as lovely to be around as his brother and friends!

Suyako(AMSG): They're both very nice. Yoriichi's been super helpful while his brother and friends are recovering. It took a little getting used to, but his presence is far from unwelcome.

2: S&TF(💕) Uta; What was your encounter with Muzan like, and do you and Yoriichi have any children?

It was pretty scary. I mean, the progenitor of all demons, right in front of me?! Especially after seeing all those organs inside of his body! *shudders* Those are images that are never leaving my head. How does Yoriichi see that sort of stuff every day, and not be fazed by it?!

And yes, Yoriichi and I do have a baby. Only because he got home before the demon could hurt me and our baby, but still! Her name is Megumi[kanji for blessing], since we both felt that the gods had given the three of us a rather large blessing to survive that night. We haven't had any kids since, though. Yoriichi's injuries mean he can't fight, and I'd feel bad about setting aside the responsibility I picked up as a Demon Slayer to have another baby.

3: S&TF Shinobu and Genya; How did you feel when you found Kanae and Sanemi in the aftermath of their battle against Upper Moon Two?

Shinobu: Well, I was definitely terrified when I saw all the blood. But I was grateful Kanae was alive. After that I went to focus on patching up Shinazugawa to keep an infection at bay. It took a lot of work to keep him alive in that time, and he almost didn't make it. It was honestly a bit of a blur after I realized how badly he was injured.

Genya: I was... terrified. I'd heard about the Demon Slayers, and stumbled across one who mentioned 'Nemi. It took a lot of asking around, but I found my way to the Butterfly Mansion. When I heard he was in critical condition and needed surgery, it just made me so much more scared. I thought he'd die before I got to apologize to him for what I said. I'm thanking the gods every day that he pulled through, and I'm glad Tanjirou and Inosuke were there to keep my head in the right space while 'Nemi was recovering.

4: To MPCS(🌙1, I know it says 2, but the commenter informed me it was a typo) Tsugikuni twins; What are your feelings on Ranhime and Uta?

Well, they're both lovely young women. Ranhime and I are amicable, though we don't interact particularly often. It seems Michikatsu's heart rate tends to pick up around her recently, so he seems to like her.

Uta is lovely. I quite enjoy listening to her talk, and could probably do so all day, if we had the time. Maybe we will, someday...

5: Mirrored Sunset(🔄) Douma; How is it, taking care of the Kamaboko Squad? Have you ever had to pick them up from prison?

Oh, they're lovely. And I haven't had to pick them up from prison once, thank goodness. Even if Ume and Inosuke can be a bit rowdy. But that's just who they are as siblings!

I just have one question for you (though it might be a bit long for you to answer, so I apologize in advance 😅): could you please analyze the names of all my babies the Lower Moons (+ Kyōgai)? I tried doing that myself to potentially find out more about their powers or what the origin of their namesake is, but since I'm still a beginner in Japanese and I don't have/know of that many resources yet, I felt like asking you would be the best option.

We don't know anything about the Lower Moons that Muzan himself killed, except for their appearance, their names, and their order in the Lower ranks, but despite this I grew attached to them (especially Mukago 💝) and would like to be able to bring more love and attention to them in the fandom. Because everyone always talks about the Upper Moons and they forget about my poor children in the Lower ranks 💔

I feel like Muzan would follow that old meme and be like, “I love all my Lower Moons,” and check the handwritten notes in his palm and just be like, “…Rui.”

But let’s do it! Let’s give each of these Lower Moons, as well as some honorable mentions (we love you, Kyougaaaaiiii) some love and dive into their names! Yahaba: 矢琶羽 Dart-Lute-Feathers, I love how catchy this name is (with 矢 clearly being the operative “arrow” meaning, though I wonder if Nakime dislikes him edging in on her lute thing). It often goes forgotten that Yahaba had tastes for staying clean and tidy, which goes to show that the demons were all possessed of their own complex personalities and had richly detailed lives of their own before those demon hunters came in and chopped their heads off. Like how he and Susamaru chatted and became friends while on the way to finding the boy with the Hanafuda earrings? That’s adorable. Also, in Kimetsu Academy, he famous runs a tofu shop and I love tofu so I hope his family’s business is going well. It’s so innocuous and I feel like the innocuous sides of Yahaba should be appreciated.

Susamaru:  朱紗丸 Vermilion-Gauze-Round/Ball, another catchy and wonderful collection of good name kanji.  The color reference starts her off with name full of vitality without crossing quite into the glowing reds associated with Red Blades. That 紗 is one that does get used in real life as a gentle complement to rest of the name when parents are looking for a ‘sa’ sound with an auspicious number of strokes to write it (though it’s the stroke order of the entire name typically taken into account), but concluding a name with 丸has distinctly old-timey masculine feel to it. As she presents very feminine, even on the hot edge of Taisho fashion, I love the juxtaposition. That said, in Kimetsu Academy, Susa become her very refreshing sounding last name while 丸 becomes a very cute, feminine personal name when left on its own. It’s also cute because it's the part of her name that has the most personal significance for her, as when she was a human, her father bought a toy ball for her and it remained important to her when she was a demon.

Kyougai: 響凱 Sound/Reverberation-Victory Song. A name that big goes to show how high Muzan’s hopes were for you, Kyougai! And seeing as he was inspired by the epic “Satomi Hakken-den,” Kyougai wanted to write a story that was just as big, with expansive world-building and deep allegory. That being said, Kyougai was totally more of a sensitive Hans Christian Andersen at heart, huh? Being so absorbed in his idealistic dreams for his literature, Kyougai even used a literary personal pronoun often reserved for written form (Literature, gotta be one of my favorite genders), and with his perpetual pouty-face, I can totally see him laying face down in a more successful demon’s yard to cry about how Muzan only likes him for his drum skills instead of his writing skills. (That demon was probably Nakime, and she was probably just as peeved as Charles Dickens.) Kyougai is so sensitive and deep in his literary fantasies that he was ultimately defeated by how moved he was by the literary symbolism of Tanjirou avoiding stepping on his written works, a kind demon slayer who takes heads because he must but will not trample on a demon’s heart. Also, might I say how sad it is that he’s the music teacher in Kimetsu Academy, probably because he still can’t make it as an author!? Kyoooouggaaaaaiiiii!!

Nakime: 鳴女 Sound (anything from an echo to birds chirping to a ringing noise to a honk)-Woman, doesn’t seem very creative on the surface because clearly she is a woman who works with sound (and is clearly more talented at it that Kyougai, get wrecked, is what she’d probably say to him if she bothered saying any more than necessary to the other demons). Muzan might had thought he was clever for this one, though, because ‘me’ is also the same sound as ‘eye’ (目). Maybe he even called her that at first, until she gave him stone-silent response, so instead of being embarrassed for being overly basic he chose to say it was written with the character 女 instead, because duh, she’s a woman. The name had nothing to do with her face. EDIT: HOLD IT, WAIT UP. @lalunaticscribe rightly pointed out that this was the name a pheasant in Shinto mythology, which totally forgot about. Although it can be writing in different ways for "crying out woman," this was a messenger sent by the heavens to Amewakahiko, who was supposed to be doing the heavens' bidding but had put them on read, essentially. The pheasant was supposed to check up on him, and he literally shot the messenger with an arrow. The arrow went all the way to the heavens, the heavens were alarmed, but still wanted to give Amewakahiko the benefit of the doubt, so they threw it back saying, "well, if he's guilty, it'll strike him, if not, it'll miss" and it struck him and he died.

Hairou: 佩狼 Wear (a sword)-Wolf. Muzan must had known he was a Shinsengumi, as they were called the ‘Wolves of Mibu’ (an area of Kyoto they policed). Hairou had a complicated relationship with swords and how ultimately they lost out to more powerful guns, which he relies on after that. He can’t totally forget his affection for swords, though, as the Taisho Secrets Hirano-sensei wrote into the Rengoku Gaiden state that he collects things like handguards from defeated enemies’ swords. Tokens of his victories, nothing more!! He doesn’t admire swords, okay, he’s fine with guns!! Gunpowder is way more effective that silly swords! Nevermind that his name still implies he’d wear one!

Kamanue: 釜鵺 Iron Pot/Kettle-Nue (a Chimera sort of ghastly beast). Given that name, fresh new Lower-Moon-Six might have had the most interesting potential for a stand-off with Kamado Tanjirou, as the hearth (kamado 竈) and iron pot/kettle heated over it (kama 釜) are closely associated. Perhaps he could had been yet another character foil to Tanjirou, another former humans with family ties to working with fire and heat? If he had those orange streaks at the ends of his hair as a human, could he also had been a Kakushaku-no-Ko, but not auspicious ever happened to him and he was forced to take the path of a demon? What’s even more interesting is the ‘Nue’ part of his name, as these were fantastical creatures who plagued the nobles of Kyoto, cursing them with illness by their presence and requiring Heian era demons slayers to go hunt them down. It’s classic and I would had loved to see how that might play into Blood Technique. Was he a shape-shifter, perhaps?

Rui: 累 Continuity/Involvement. This was a name given to him by his parents, who probably wished to keep a healthy baby boy involved in their lives for a very long time. Ouch.

Mukago: 零余子 Nothing-Surplus-Child. Mukago really does leave the most impact for her character design, doesn’t she? It’s the classy symmetrical horns that do it for me, but it’s the feather/fur boa that totally seals the deal. As Muzan called her out for always avoiding strong demon hunters, I get the sense she could be pretty wily with who she choose to target or how she chose to slip away. As for this name, though, the jarring juxtaposition makes me think she’d have had very strange and unusual Blood Techniques, perhaps flirting with the divide between ‘existence’ and ‘non-existence.’ I have no idea how that would work, and her victims probably all regretting finding out.

Wakuraba: 病葉 Sick-Leaves. This one makes me curious, as Muzan probably didn’t like associations with illness. However, taken as a whole, perhaps it was in reference to blight. Were his abilities something that could spread and kill a large number of people in a given area, or did his Blood Technique spread through trees to slowly poison people through the water or attack directly with poison leaves and an evil root system throughout the forest (I wrote that into a fanfic, haaa)? He’s got a pretty unassuming appearance, wearing a kimono pattern used a few times throughout the manga, and only one simple scarf for accessory, but the scars on his face keep him from being able to blend into a crowd. How’d you get those scars, man? What is your story? Did they remain from your human life, something that no amount of demon regeneration can ever erase from you?

Rokuro: 轆轤 Potter’s Wheel/Pulley. Now this is an assuming character design. That’s totally a craftsman’s attire for working in his studio, crouched over a spinning pottery wheel all day. What was your Blood Technique, sir? Did it astound victims for how they never would have suspected you of anything, much less noticed you? Is it like a spinning mechanism, full of potential for a truly horrendous death, or do you trap victims under giant interdimensional tea cups? Does Gyokko hate you for this and want you to stop stealing his shtick? Also, the facial hair makes me think he was a Meiji era human, as it was back in style then. That would make him not a terribly old demon, at his oldest, a bit younger than Hairou (whom he replaced as Lower Moon Two) and the Hand Demon.

Enmu: 魘夢 (To have a) Nightmare-Dream. Muzan wasn’t feeling very creative that night but it does have a nice ring to it. Had he been promoted to an Upper Moon role like he hoped, maybe a name change would had been in order, like “The Enmu Express.”

While a language cannot be learned with dictionaries alone as all languages are contextual (Japanese especially), I do use a collection of different dictionaries when I do translations (even if they pull from similar sources), as they may present slightly different nuances or methods of look-up or examples. Teddie shows up and is allowed to enter the drag contest. Because of course he is, we're letting a teacher in the other pageant, this is a lawless world.

Naoto is doing Teddie's outfit and make-up, interesting to note for later.

Rise did Kanji's look and I'm big mad at her, she knows better, she could have done a MUCH be-- oh. oh right rise has a weirdly antagonist relationship with Kanji. GOD I JUST PUT THAT TOGETHER. KANJI I'M SORRY I SHOULD HAVE SAVED YOU. She didn't even give him any pointers on his posture, which alone would have done a lot.

Chie did this purposefully for revenge, you cannot convince me otherwise. Again: she has my full support. But with Yosuke, she had to put in some effort, it would have been very easy to make him a very good drag look. I'd wet his hair and put curling stuff in it, zzuzh it up a bit and give him a smoky eye. Totally could have worked.

Sadly we don't get a close-up on Reverie. I am sad. I wanted to examine the Look.

anyway OBVIOUSLY Teddie wins. Naoto did a great job. Don't fuck with what's already working and accentuate what you already have. Naoto knows what's up! I would have punched up Teddie's eyes but Naoto apparently doesn't even own a make-up kit so maybe that's not their skillset.

Because Teddie wins, he gets to be a judge for the other pageant and he declares it has to have a swimsuit portion. Are sure Teddie is not also the Devil?

Kanji continues to be a good dude. YES it was brave enough of Naoto to show up at all. Bailing on the swimsuit part is also brave of them. Good for you, Naoto! (It's also funny, Kanji is flustered by Chie and Yukiko and Naoto but not at ALL by Rise. Rise is like the least attractive person int he world to him. Not that he finds her ugly but just there's no spark there. lmao. is that why she dislikes him? I cannot figure out the source of Rise being kind of a dick to Kanji.)

So here's the interesting bit. Because, again, the game likes to indulge me, Reverie gets asked who he wants to date. And I can pick Kanji, Yosuke, or a girl. I'm playing Reverie as gay, so OF COURSE I pick Kanji. Because I have eyes and a sense of taste, okay.

Which leads directly to Yosuke goading Kanji and almost getting punched again. THE USUAL.

HOWEVER. I RELOADED THE SAVE OUT OF CURIOSITY, RIGHT. AND I PICKED YOSUKE INSTEAD.

Yosuke actually gives you approval points for picking him, unlike Kanji. Kanji doesn't not (and here I just have to accept in my tired broken heart that Reverie is not Kanji's type, and y'all KNOW it's just shattering to me, just so sad) but YOSUKE DOES.

Yosuke is the most repressed bisexual I have seen in a LONG fucking time. Holy shit.

Toyland - Chapter 5

Location: Shopping District Characters: Hinata, Touri, Yuuta & Yuzuru

TL Note:

Ama no Iwato is a cave from Japanese mythology. It’s said the Goddess of the Sun, Amaterasu, had hidden herself inside and took all the world’s light with her. To entice Amaterasu out of the cave, a few gods threw parties and made a fuss. Curious to see what was going on, she finally stepped outside and the world was once again bathed in light.

For those who don’t know, Touri’s surname has the kanji for “princess / 姫 (hime)”, hence the variety of nicknames he has associated with it.

“Momo” is the Japanese word for “peach”.

Yuzuru: Young Master. I’m aware you find it fascinating, but please don’t look at everything around you with such awe. It’ll be too late when you bump into a passerby and hurt yourself.

Touri: Oh geez, how many times do I have to tell you not to treat me like a little kid!? I’m not a baby that can’t do anything without your help, Yuzuru.

Yuzuru: …I apologise. I hope you will overlook my impertinent behaviour.

Touri: Hey, don’t make such a sad face.

What happened to the Yuzuru who would nag me about every little thing like a mother-in-law?

Hinata: Yuuta-kun has successfully got him to come out. Ahaha, you’re so easy, Hime-kun~♪

Hinata: Momo? Uh, is that a cousin of yours or something?

He gave it the name of “Momo” and cherishes it very much.

Hmm. It seems the Young Master didn’t cause any issues while I was away on the school trip.

Kokonoi Hajime.

He was entering your home at a decent time, just to find you with your head on top of your folded arms, he smirks.

It’s just when he gets closer that he sees that you’re sleeping and your college meeting is still ongoing, your camera and micro off. Without making too much fuss about it, he kneels in front of you and starts softly taking your shoes off, then he starts taking all the pins off your hair and softly takes you in his arms.

When he tucks you in bed you open your eyes a little.

“Koko?” You murmur, throwing your arms around his neck, he chuckles softly.

“I can’t baby, I have to stay till your meeting is over.” He softly says, and kisses your neck since that's the only place he can reach with how tight your grip around him is. You nod and let him go.

He ended up hearing the meeting for you, and like the smart ass he is, he took notes for you so you could check them when you wake up.

Akashi Takeomi.

You were talking to him on a video call since he was on a business trip but still would call you every night to check on you.

However, you had spent the whole day helping his brother in a lot of gang related things, so you were more than tired by the time you took the call.

“I’ll be back tomorrow, and remember next week we have this meeting with the gang from… Oh,” He stops talking when he looks at the phone and sees you dozing off. “Princess? Hey, hey! Doll!”

You get startled and look around his apartment, because yes, he makes you stay at his apartment when he’s not around. You look at him and smile embarrassed.

“I’m so sorry Takeomi,” You murmur, taking the laptop with you and putting it on the bed while you start to undress to get ready for bed. He watches you with a small smile.

“My brother made you help him today?” You hum and he tsk. “He always does that when I’m not around.”

“Because you don’t let him be around me when you’re here.” You say getting under his blankets, you get comfy, he chuckles.

“Yeah. Have a nice sleep, love, I’ll be there by the time you wake up.” He murmurs.

“To give me kisses?” You whisper, your eyes already closed, he chuckles again.

“To give you the world, baby…”

Kakucho Hitto.

It’s normal for you to attend your online meetings in his office, since you spend almost all your time at the Bonten’s building.

What’s not normal is for you to be this tired, to the point of leaning back on his chair and falling asleep while the conference about what to do for the new season in your company was being held.

“Doll, Kokonoi says that this new product they’re proposing to you it’s not wor— Oh.” He smirks as soon as he sees your sleeping face.

Softly, he takes you in his arms and lays you on the comfy couch he has in the office, he puts a small blanket that was for decoration on top of your body and kisses your cheek.

“I need to be at the meeting.” You mumble half asleep.

“Kokonoi says it is not worth it.” He whispers, tracing your lips and eyebrows with his finger softly.

“Oh, then I’m not gonna take…” You move around, already sleeping again. He chuckles.

He sits on the chair and starts taking notes on the most important points they made through the rest of the meeting.

“We’ll give you our response tomorrow.” He ends the meeting after they were looking for you.

Manjiro Sano “Mikey”.

You were talking to him through the phone when he decided he wanted to see you. After turning on the camera a genuine smile spread through his face immediately. You were under all the blankets already, your face showing signs of being one step away from falling asleep.

“Go to sleep, bubs.” He whispers, and although it looks like he’s relaxed watching you, in reality he’s in a room full of gang members and some rats that he was about to interrogate. You didn’t know that by his genuine smile and he wasn’t about to tell you either.

“No, no… tell me about the guys that work with you, what did Kaku-chan do today?” You mumble, eager to hear him talk, he smirks and in time, Kakucho shows his face on the camera. “Oh, you’re Kaku-chan? Hi!”

“Hello there.” He says and goes on with his business.

“So, we were at this art gallery and some rich man thought that because the guys were wearing suits they couldn’t fight and started to pick fights with them.” Mikey starts to tell you with a smile while watching how in the distance Sanzu was beating the snitch ass. “Apparently they didn’t know he was the best brawler of our time and—,”

Your snoring stops him. He looks at you and chuckles, you are too deep already and he swears he can see you drooling already.

“At least take off the glasses, angel...” He whispers to himself, ending the call and looking at Sanzu who was waiting for his orders. “Kill them.”

Ran Haitani.

Ran loves to show you how indecent he can be, and that he does by entering your apartment at ungodly hours of the night. Of course, you never get paranoid or anything since you know about the men he has in front of your apartment taking care of you at all times, if it’s not Ran getting in, it’s nobody.

“Doll~” Ran chants while taking off his shoes. He is expecting you to jump on his ass for scaring you, but he is met with you in the kitchen, your laptop open with a meeting already over on display, and you with your cheek on the counter, drooling.

“This is new.” He chuckles.

His indecency ends at the moment you’re not in a mood to punch him or to yell at him, so he would never wake you up or something. But, instead of taking you in his arms bridal style, he moves you softly and gets between your legs, putting his hands on the back of your thighs and makes you hug his waist with your legs.

“Baby?” You mumble, waking up.

“Yes pretty, I’ll just take you to bed, yeah?” He whispers in your ear, starting to walk to your bedroom.

“You gonna get in bed with me?” You mumble again, tightening your arms and legs around him. He hums pleasantly.

“Yes my love, like every night.” He tells you and you hum.

Doesn’t matter the amount of time you yell at him, he’s always gonna make sure you have him to hug through the night.

Rindou Haitani.

Nobody understands how he could convince you to get into a relationship with him. You’re not a sweet innocent person or something like that, no, but still you’re not a psycho like him.

But, the way he treats you, his acts of service tell you everything you need to know about his persona with you.

You were at an online meeting in your studio so when he got home he tried to be as quiet as he could. After getting dressed in some spare clothes he left in your apartment he goes to see if you need anything.

“Darling, are you okay there…” He frowns when he sees that the screen says the meeting is over.

When he gets closer he sees you with your head hanging and snoring softly. He smiles.

He goes to the room and throws the unnecessary pillows on the floor, turns on the A/C and brings a cup of water for the night. He then goes and looks for you and turns off the laptop, takes you in his arms and puts you on your bed. That’s when you wake up.

“Want to hug you…” You mumble, he kisses your cheeks a couple of times.

“You’ll do gorgeous, I’m just making sure you’re comfortable for the night.” You nod, eyes closed.

He gets in the bed with you and lets you tangle all your limbs around him. He falls asleep with a smile on his face.

Sanzu Haruchiyo.

He was high as hell when he entered your shared apartment, so at first he couldn’t understand why you were sitting on the floor with your head on top of your folded arms on the small table.

“Puppy?” He whispers as if there were more people around.

He gets closer and sits by your side, that's when he sees that apparently you were at an online meeting earlier and fell asleep. The screen says “This meeting is over” or something.

Sanzu being Sanzu, and a high Sanzu at that, just moves you around till you are resting your head comfortably on his lap. Then, he leans back on the couch to wait till the trip passes so he could take you both to the bedroom.

Spoiler: y’all ended up sleeping on the floor the whole night.

Mochizuki Kanji “Mocchi”.

One thing about this man is that if he can be loud, he’s gonna go all out.

You were talking to him by video call since y’all haven’t seen each other in a couple of days because of your work and his gang. The thing is, the only time he could take a call was at an ungodly hour, and you being tired from work, was falling asleep on the call.

“So, yeah baby, today I couldn’t beat some ass because the Haitani got in the wa— BREAK HIS NOSE GODDAMN IT!” You couldn’t help but to scream startled. Even though it was through a phone, his screaming scared you.

“For the love of God, Kanji!” You shout, hand on your chest, breathing fast.

He looks at you confused and frowning, then he looks surprised.

“Oh, you were asleep I-I’m sorry darling, we are at an underground ring watching some low ranks beat each other.” He explains but you’re still shaken. “Wait a second.”

He walks out of the place and into the parking lot.

“You okay there?” He murmurs. “I’m sorry.”

“I-It’s okay.” You nod, but that’s not enough for him.

“So, my gorgeous baby, let me tell you what I did today…” He says in a low tone, knowing that would put you back to sleep.

He starts repeating the same story he was telling you when you were asleep, but in a lower toner. When he sees you are out again he smiles.

“I’ll make sure to see ya’ tomorrow, love you.”

He ends the call and goes back inside.
