hehe hi guys!! i know i haven't been active like at ALL but i'm here now! honestly life has gotten so busy plus i fell into a bit of a writer's block but here we are again and Fic Friday with Beans is finally starting (forreal, this time)

this is actually the first time i've written for genshin!! it's been a long time comming. can you tell that itto is my favorite character

In all of his hundreds and thousands of years of existance, Venti has always been quite flirty, especially when drunk. You, having known him all your life, knew this, and accepted it as one of the many characterists of the playful god. It's not as if he wasn't like that with you, either! Almost every time you and him went out to the Rowdy Raven, the night would end with him murmuring sweet nothings and playful pick-up lines at you. You always brushed it off, assuming it was the alcohol that was talking.

However, his sweet words have nothing to do with alcohol. Sober or drunk, he still meant everything he said, word for word. During the next Windblume festival, in which was normal to celebrate your loved ones, the bubbly archon greeted you with his lyre.

"I wrote a song about you, Y/n!"

Then, he sang, and goosebumps rose on your skin. It was the most romantic song you've heard, the soft tunes matching with the heartfelt lyrics. Once he finished the song, tears were prickling in the corners of your eyes.

"So all of that you said in the tavern..."

"Yeah, I meant it! I love you, Y/n, I always have!"

Keaya:

Even though Keaya was the flirtiest person the Knights of Favonious ever saw, he never flirted because of actual feelings. It was all fun and games to him! That's why, even though your heart hoped for the handsome captain to actually mean the sweet words he says, your head had to remind you that flirting with you wasn't any different to him than talking to any other.

However, lately Keaya has been extra sweet with you. Not just his regular flirts, not even the smug, sexy way he smiles to all the gorgeous Mondstadt citizen. No, in the last couple of days the Cavalry Captain had his eyes glued on you and you only. Every single one of his breaks he spent with you, often joining you for a walk and maybe a drink after his work days end. Once on those walks around the streets of Mondstadt, you suddenly stopped in your tracks:

"Keaya, why do give me so much of your attention? You don't chit-chat with the ladies at the fountain on your way to work, and I even noticed you don't really hang out with Rosaria anymore... What's up with that?"

"Well, lately I've had my eyes, and dare I say heart, set on a certain someone..." He looked at you lovingly, a spark of genuine affection gleaming in his icy blue eyes.

Zhongli:

Zhongli is a god, an Archon, a divine creature - and divine creatures don't quite understand romance, and the gestures representing it. As soon as you met him, he's always been really friendly with you, always making the time to be with you in spite of his busy schedule. He has invited you to dinner with him and Childe (even though it was technically supposed to be a business dinner) multiple times and brought you flowers a couple of times, as he saw other humans doing it too.

Unfortunately, Zhongli didn't really know that he was supposed to say his feelings - in fact, he didn't even know what he was feeling. Before becoming mortal, he couldn't feel these feelings nor understand them the best. Now, all of this was so new to him that he didn't know how to act or what to do.

One day, as he once again cleared his schedual at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor to hang out with you, he asked:

"Y/n, Childe tells me you didn't know I felt admiration and endearment towards you. Is this true? Have I not shown it properly?"

"Uh.. What?! Zhongli, are you saying that you.. Fell in love with me?"

"Yes, I am. Have I done something wrong to show it?"

Childe:

Much like Keaya, Childe had a naturally flirty personality. Perhaps, not flirty - no, the real word to describe him was smug. Tartaglia was smug. Even when speaking with and threatening his greatest enemies, The Fatui harbinger always managed to lightly chuckle seductivly and even slip some snarky nicknames and comments into the conversation. Nothing has changed since you first met him - he still acts the same with you, a friend Zhongli has introduced him to.

Except, you're not just his friend, and the both of you know that. There's been a shift in the atmosphere between the two of you lately, but neither wants to admit it. Childe, mostly, because he's scared. Somebody with such a dangerous job as him could never be the loving boyfriend you deserved.

One day, he was supposed to leave Liyue Harbor for a mission, for archons-know-how long. It could be a couple of days or a couple of months, and he didn't want to leave you without a proper goodbye. So, here he was on your doorstep, and immediately cutting you off before you even tried to ask what he was doing:

"Y/n, I have to go. I don't know how long I'll be away for, and before I go, I wanted to let you know that I love you"

Arataki Itto:

Itto is a lot of things, but most of all, the Oni is loud. About everything in his life. Almost never being the one to shy away from a fight or hide his feelings, he immediately wanted to tell you as soon as he realized he had fallen for you. However, you were different, special even, and he couldn't just march into your house and tell you loud and clear that he loves you, but that simply wouldn't do. So, he decided to discuss his confession with the Arataki gang.

"C'mon, guys, think! Should I bring flowers? Or maybe some lollipops? OH! How about we sing a song? Yeah, that'd be EPIC! But no, no no no, we can't scare her..."

"Uh, boss..? What if she rejects you?" Akira asked. Itto burst into a loud laugh.

"The great Arataki Itto doesn't get rejected! I mean, I'd be cool even if she, ya know, didn't feel that way, but that's never going to happen! Now I just gotta think of a way to tell her..."

Kuki finally joined the conversation.

"Boss, why don't you just tell her that you need to talk, and then just say what you're feeling?"

So he did exactly that. Even though Shinobu was a bit inexperienced with romance and love, she was still the smartest member of the Arataki Gang, so she must be right!

"Hey, Y/n! Uhh, could you, I mean.. Uh.. I wanna talk about something! Yeah, yeah, I wanna tell you something! You got time?"

"Uh, sure, Itto! What's up?" You asked with a smile.

"I, uhm.. Lately I realised that you are really, really cool and awesome- I mean of course you are, you are part of the Arataki gang! But, uh.. I kinda realized that maybe you're "I'm in love with you" awesome, and not just "Yooo my guy" kinda awesome..."

"Awww, that's sweet Itto- Wait. What?!"

Thoma:

Thoma is a real sweetheart, with a heart of gold. Nobody could deny it! And you knew that very well. So, naturally, when he started being extra nice to you and cooking you meals and helping you with your chores around the Kamisato estate, you just wrote it off as him being kind like he always was. And it was making him lose his mind.

The poor guy tried everything to make you see that he likes, no - loves you, but each one of his tries is unsuccessful. He even starts thinking that maybe you have realized that he's flirting with you, but nevertheless ignored him! Saddened by your cluelesness, he decides to stop these little activities with you, and you notice that he's being a lot colder than usual.

"Hey, Thoma.. What's wrong? Why do you not want to talk to me anymore?"

"Because you're not getting that I love you"

"What?! You're in love with me? So all these nice things you did were-"

Backstory ➜

You grew up an orphan in Inazuma, always having to fight your way up the ladder for any sort of food, clothing, housing.. That was until you met the Oni named Arataki Itto. He and his gang offered to help you, in turn you do work for them,, this work however came with a contract that you consent you anything they tell you or do. You being the naive young adult you were agreed and just as your stupidity did, it got you into trouble.. Somehow you had managed to loose over 2 million Mora,, that belonged to the gang. So they made you swear to work your ass off to get it back or their would be consequences.

Present Time ➜

You had managed to collect half of the Mora you owed within a year and a half, working day in and day out for anything and anyone, no matter the price or sense in the job. The day you came to visit Itto and deliver the portion you had collected it was eerily quiet among the group, Itto was waiting in his room of the buildings while the others stared you down.

By the time you had reached the room itself you were absolutely terrified, scared and worried for what was going to be said. " I already know you are there. " Itto called, signaling that you could just step right in, the room smelt of flowers mixed with dirt and musk, it was pleasant in a sense but also weird for a man like Itto. " I brought the half I've collected, I still have to get the rest but I will I swear to it! " You shouted, standing as straight as you could while staring straight forward. The low rumbling of Ittos laugh however made you gulp. " I don't want the Mora anymore. I'll take the half and something else. " His frame that once was sat in his cozy chair was now stood directly infront of you, his height scary compared to you. " W.. what else could you want Itto? But c’mon let’s be honest, he’d share that with his kid… He loves them too much

Later he’d fall asleep on the couch with the kids on top of him

Literally one of the funniest and most chaotic babysitter and dad out there

Boba Tea all day, every day

Okay not every day, and surely not all day, but definitely very often

He’s pretty rich so his kid might get somewhat spoiled??

He’s definitely not the type that babysitted often though

But due to the fact that his parents passed away way too early he had to take care of Ayaka himself

So he has some experience with older kids

Returning to the Genshin Boys After a Long Adventure

The cool evening air brushed over your skin sending a chill down your spine. You walked though the gate at the entrance of Mondstadt. A soft sigh left your lips. It was nice to be home. You didn’t even bother stopping at home before heading down to Angel’s Share. 

You could hear the sounds of joyous laughter and lively conversations drifting out of the tavern as you got closer. You entered the tavern, the feeling of warmth washing over you. You immediately began searching though the crowds of people. You walked around aimlessly hoping you’d stumble across the person you were looking for. Just as you were about to head up to the second floor to continue your search, a hand grabbed your arm. You were pulled into someone’s body...a very familiar body.

“Where are you going, sweetheart? Looking for someone?”

You immediately wrapped your arms around his body hugging him tightly. A soft chuckle left his lips.

“Hello sweetheart.”

“Hi Kaeya.”

“It seems like you missed me,” he teased

“Shut up. I know you missed me too,” you huffed

Kaeya didn’t say anything. He just wrapped an arm around your shoulders pulling you closer to his chest. He pressed kiss to the top of your head silently assuring you that he did, in fact, miss you. 

You walked through Liyue Harbor; your body was exhausted from your adventures but you were so glad to be back home. The streets were still bustling despite it being evening -- which was a nice change from the last few days of your journey though the quiet mountains and plains of Teyvat. 

You trudged down the street passing by the market stalls and shops. You were so in your own head that you didn’t notice a familiar figure stepping out of Liuli Pavilion. You heard your name called out and stopped to find the owner of the voice. A soft smile spread across your face when you spotted Zhongli coming your way. 

“Hello Zhongli.”

“Hello my dear,” he smiled, “You’re back earlier than expected.”

“Yeah, I finished up earlier than I originally thought.”

“Well, I’m glad you are back.”

He cupped your face, his thumb stroking your cheek. You leaned into his touch relishing his warmth. He pressed a kiss to your forehead before intertwining your fingers together. 

“Shall we head home, my love? I assume you are quite tired after your journey.” 

“Yes, I’d very much like that.”

The two of you started to head towards your home in a comfortable silence. You didn’t need to speak, you were just happy to be back in Zhongli’s company. Once you were out of the main street and in a more private area, Zhongli pulled you close to him. His gaze lingered on your eyes for a moment then he kissed you passionately. 

“I missed you,” he said before grabbing your hand again and leading you home

You entered your home tired after your long journey home. It was surprisingly quiet for how late it was. You were sure Thoma would be home by now. Thinking he was just working later than usual, you dropped your stuff and headed for the bedroom. You walked into the bedroom and was met with Thoma sitting on the bed with many things scattered on the bed with him. 

“Thoma, what’s all-”

You were interrupted by Thoma coming over and hugging you tightly. He didn’t say anything and honestly, he didn’t need to. You could tell just how he was feeling from how tightly he held you. He eventually pulled away, his hands still staying on your shoulders.

“Are you alright? Are you injured?”

“No, I’m alright,” you smiled, “But what’s all this?”

“Ah, I wasn’t sure how you’d be feeling when you got home so I got some of your favorite snacks and pajamas,” he glanced over to a large pile of medical supplies, “I also wanted to be ready in case you were hurt.”

“You’re so sweet.”

You captured his lips in a sweet kiss, your arms wrapping around his neck. He happily accepted the kiss and snaked his arms around your waist. You let out a content sigh. 

“Well, what would you like to do tonight?” Thoma asked

“Hmm...I just want to spend some time with you.”

“Alright cutie. Your wish is my command.”   

You barely step foot into Inazuma City when you heard your name being yelled out. You turned to where the voice was coming from to see a large figure running over to you. You braced yourself just in time. You were swiftly picked up by a large pair of muscly arms and squeezed tightly. 

“Itto-,” you tapped on his arm, “Too tight.”

“Oh sorry.”

Itto gently put you down on the ground. You could easily tell that he was very excited, he had a huge smile plastered on his face. He stared at you as if you were a precious gem he’d been desperately looking for. 

“You’re finally back!” he exclaimed, “It’s been so boring without you!”

“I think you’re exaggerating a bit,” you laughed

“No I’m not! It’s always so boring when you leave.”

He pouted ever so slightly making you giggle. You pressed a soft kiss to his lips, his pout disappearing right after feeling your lips on his.

“I missed you too,” you smiled

Itto let out a shy giggle, his face turning a bit pink. He turned his face away from you trying to hide the blush on his cheeks. He grabbed your hand and proceeded to pull you in the direction of your shared home.

“C’mon c’mon c’mon! I wanna show you my new fighting beetle!”

“Hey, ‘Luc! What if we go on another date tomorrow? You free??” The loud oni asked the bartender behind the counter, his boyfriend, leaning on the counter, scotting his stool closer to the counter . “Tomorrow…? Huh…” Diluc wiped the glass he had in his hand as he thought about it, he could put someone else on the shift. “There shouldn’t be a problem with that. Yes.”

“That’s great! Awesome! I have sooo much planned for us!!” Diluc sighed and set the cup where it went, setting his towel on the counter, “Itto…please keep it down a little. I have yet to close the tavern…” Itto looked around and then back to his boyfriend with a chuckle, motioning his lips shut with a key, pretending he threw the key away. “I’ll be as quiet as a cat!”

“It's a mouse” Itto raised an eyebrow, leaning on his hand to support his head. “What?” Diluc slid the towel across the side of the counter that Itto wasn’t on. “The correct term is ‘as quiet as a mouse’ not cat…” Itto lifted his head up with a pout. “H-Hey! I totally knew that. It’s just you know how cats can eat rats and stuff I just thought-”

The redhead stopped cleaning the counter as he let out a soft laugh. And boy do I tell you his laugh is almost like angels. The oni would do anything to keep him smiling and laughing like that. “...Yeah, sure, love, that’s what you meant, I get it” There were some eyes on the couple. I mean, who would have guessed the richest man in Mondstadt would get with a ‘nobody’ from Inzuama? No one. Exactly. “Hmph! You better!” Diluc just shook his head letting out another laugh as he continued to wipe the counter. “Hey, sunshine! How about a little game?” The redhead stopped once again to look at his boyfriend. “Hm? A game? -- this late?”

Itto nodded quickly. “Yup! It’s not a hard game…it’s-- simple!” Diluc hummed and nodded back, he was sort of intrigued. “...Okay…” He mumbled hesitantly. “Sweet! Okay, my lil firefly! I dare you to tell everyone in the tavern how much you love me!” This brought shock to Diluc. “R-Rightnow?” “Of course, right now! When else?”

“...Um, Itto I- I just…” The oni tilted his head, he didnt see what was wrong with that. Surely there was no problem with them dating and obviously Diluc loved him. “Okay…” It was only moment that it took Diluc fall right into Itto’s -- so called -- trap. “Ahem” Diluc cleared his throat quickly loudly as to get everyone’s attention, even the ones on the second floor. “Hello, I hope you are all enjoying your night here, as you might know, I’m going to be closing very soon but before that I would like to tell you all how much I love…my boyfriend…Itto…” Itto watched Diluc as he noticed his ears turning bright red and his cheeks a light pink color.

“...Um, a lot of you know that he’s from Inzuama and doesn’t come here often because of our distance, but I love him with all my heart. Itto is the sweetest, nicest guy I’ve met. Sure, he’s loud. Obnoxious at times, but despite his flaws, he’s still *my* boyfriend. One I would do anything to keep happy….” The redhead paused to clear his throat again, clearly getting embarrassed but he couldn’t back out now. “...So…Arataki Itto…would you….” Diluc gulped as he saw Itto’s eyes widened. Wait, what was happening? Everything seemed to spin for a bit. “W-What…”

“Will you marry me?” Itto almost had a heart attack when he heard the four word. There was an uproar of cheers and glasses clicking against each other even when there were a few people. The oni watched his boyfriend take out a box as he got out from behind the counter and kneel in front of him. His eyes were already widened, his heart was beating so fast, it could almost explode. “...Was that too-”

“Yes! Oh my god, yes! Of course!” Itto almost jumped out of his seat while trying to stand up extending his hand out like a teenage girl. No matter how funny he looked, Itto didn’t care how silly he looked. He just wanted to Diluc to make it real. The moment felt like a familiar euphoria. It felt so lovely, so bliss and so dreamy, he would’ve fainted on the spot. Diluc’s face beamed with a light Itto hasn’t seen before. He loved it. Diluc stood up as he slipped the pretty ring onto his lover’s finger and intertwined their fingers together, squeezing it, using the hold to pull his, now fiance, into a kiss, to which Itto squeezed his hand back three times and happily kiss back. The cheering got loud somehow, but to the two kissing in the middle of the tavern, there was no noise, seemingly draining out.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Arataki. There was nothing left in the domain besides this ring.”

“No! You have to keep looking! He’s still in there! Itto’s still there! Let me go in!”

“We searched today and we searched all day yesterday…he wasn’t found…”

“You’re lying to me! You didn’t look good enough! Fuck! I know he’s alive…he…”

Diluc clenched the ring he was given in his hands. Holding it with both as the tears that he was holding back for so long became to slid down his cheeks and dripped onto the ground below him. “Sir, we will do anything in our power to keep searching and looking for him but we can’t ensure you that he will be--” Diluc shook his head in a violent matter. “He’s alive! He HAS to be!”

The redhead’s vision was completely blurred by his tears. He didn’t want to believe it. He didn’t want to. No matter how many times he was told that there was no chance that Itto was alive, he didn’t believe it. The ring in his hand was…warm with how many Diluc was clenching onto it.

Oni!Genji x reader - An unlikely saviour

As the world was overrunby supernatural creatures of all kinds, you lived in a constant state of worry due to your human nature. Your town, which consisted of a population of purebred humans and monster hunters, was often times the targeted subjected by creatures such as ghouls and demons looking for a new host. There had been a few rare instances where there has been a mass group of creatures that attempted to rob and destroy your town. However, with the local monster hunters,the town remained in once piece with a few honourable sacrifices. One of whom was your brother. The event had caused you to be wary of every creature that roamed the earth.

You worked in one of the most popular bars in town as it was your family’s business. It was a place where hunters would gather and tell their tales of hunts and their encounters of creatures to each other and you would listen intently. You father had introduced you to the hunters and you became familiar with almost all of themand they’ve grown to appreciate you, even regarding you as family.

The loud chatter of the customer and the warm hue of the lights always made you enjoy working there. Lively nights was always a good change for the quiet town. You smiled as you neared one of the frequent hunters that would always visit the tavern when coming back from a fruitful trip.

“Another successful hunt then, McCree?” you smiled as you set his beer down.

The brunette turned to you with a smug grin on his scarred face.

“Ya got it darlin’. Gotta make sure towns safe for sweets like yourself” he winked which caused you to roll your eyes whilst laughing . His pals around him chuckled at his poor attempt at flirting.

“Well, I gotta give itto ya. Your service is greatly appreciated sooooo drinks on me tonight boys”You smiled at the guys as they erupted in cheers and toasted with each other.

You laughed and walked back to the counter where your father was awaiting you.

“[y/n] dear, I need you to pick up a couple oforders from the merchant. It’s late so take the gun with you” Your father said as he placed a hand on your shoulder.

“The merchant across town? Yeah that’s fine dad, I’ll be fine” You reassured him with your excited smile . He smiled and ruffled your hair.

“Alright then, be back before midnight dear” He said and you began preparing.

You grabbed the revolver with its holster and placed it on you hip as well as a travel bag for ammo and the itemsyou were retrieving. A common myth was told around the townsfolk that from midnight to the witching hour, the town would be littered with bands ofhellhounds. It may have been a myth,but even the hunters were wary whenroaming the streets at those hours. Currently, it was 11:25 pm, you had lessthan an hour to get back. That damn merchant had made his base across townsince business wasn’t good at your end because of your family business.

You left the warm tavernand entered the cool darkness. The wind softly ruffled your blouse as youlooked around. No one in sight.

‘Great, no one will hearme if I die’ you thought. With a sigh, you made your way through the deathlyquiet town.

The stillness of thetown was unwelcoming and unnerving. You were used to the bustle of the town andthe liveliness of the tavern, it did make you slightly anxious travellingacross town. The soft taps of your footsteps resonated the still air around you, bringing you a hint of comfort. The town faced the openness of the forest whichwas the reason of concern for the town’s folk.

‘Just a little further’you said to yourself as the cold began to set.

You rubbed yourshoulders in comfort. Until you heard the sound of heavy breathing. You quicklyturned your head toward the direction. Nothing.

‘This is freaky, I gottahurry! Where the hell is that merchant’ you curse to yourself.

You hurriedly walked,the sound of extra and slightly heavier footsteps also echoed from behind you.You didn’t bother looking back and just dashed for it. Disembodied growls couldbe heard from all directions, it terrified you and prompted to run faster. Thewind rushing past you as the buildings became a blur on your peripheral vision.

“Shit! Shit! Shit! Thisis bad” you curse at whatever was chasing you.

Suddenly, you lose yourfooting on couple of trash bags which causes you to stumble. It felt like slowmotion when you fell to the ground. Thoughts of being killed by these creaturesfilled you with determination and you pulled out your gun. You turned towardthe disembodied beasts that were chasing you and fired at them.

*Bang* *Bang*

A whimper was heard butwas quickly replaced by deeper and heavier growls. You emptied the rounds onthe hounds. You couldn’t see their forms but where the bullets had hit, youlanded 4 shots. Their forms slowly began emerging from the air. Huge black hounds with glowing red eyes nowgrowled and began approaching. You wasted no time and made a run for it again. Breathingheavily, your pace became sluggish. Then, you felt teeth sink intoyour ankle. Stumbling and screaming, you tried to kick the beast off you. The pressure of thebite caused the pain to soar through your body as your skin broke and blood waspooling around the wound.

“Fuck! Shit!” you yelledas you kept kicking it but to no avail.

Then in an instant andwith a flash of red, the pressure and fangs were gone. Now black blood pooledwhere the beast had once ravaged your leg. As you lifted your gaze up, stood a figure with a red blazing katana in hand. You were about to call out tothem, but they ran toward the approaching pack of hellhounds.

“Watch Out!” you yelledworried for your saviour.

The gravity of thesituation didn’t hit you until when you tried to move your left leg. You didn’tcarry any bandages nor were you able to rip your blouse due to its durablenature.

You heard the figureyell ‘Oni no ken wo kurae’ as he sliced the hounds and demonic growls emitted fromthem as the figure wielded his sword. It looked graceful as the bright red glowof the katana danced in swift motions. You pondered if he was another hunterbut a more… unique one. The growling stopped and so did the swift motions of thesword. You watched as the figure approach you injured form. As the light of themoon illuminated the figure, you jumped slightly at the sight of his oni mask. Thered horns of the cover glowed in the dark as did the red engravings on his Armor. The scarlet eyes pierced through the darkness and bore straight into your soul. Thefigure crouched down to your level and inspected the wound.

“Can you stand up?” Itwas a low voice, slightly muffled by the cover of his mask. It soundedmonotone, void of any emotions.

“I…I tried to get up,but it’s gone numb” You stammered as you began explaining.

“It is not safe for youto stay here with this wound. It is infected with the blood of the hellhounds,we must get it cleaned” He stated as he stood up, his voice slightly waveredwith concern for your wound.

“I live nearby, we couldgo there” You suggested.

“No that won’t do. Wewill need special potions, regular antiseptics will prove to be futile” Themasked male said as he walked closer to you.

Suddenly, you felt apair of strong arms hoist you up and held in a bridal position. You squealed insurprise and you held onto his broad shoulders. The cold touch of his armour wasmade you slightly uneasy as there was no heat emitting off him.

“Where are we going? I didn’teven get your name” You frantically questioned as confusion and worry beganforming.

“You usually ask thismany questions?” The oni male asked, a hint of annoyance.

“Just to those who swoopme up like prince charming” you chuckled, feeling little smug about yourcomment.

“Let’s not forget who’sinjured and was on the verge of dying couple of minutes ago” Your sassy saviourreplied, in a teasing tone. Slightly amused by the way an embarrassed blushformed on your face and you pouted, looking away from him.

This caused your saviourto chuckle lightly, in his low muffled voice. It was… in a sense comforting thathe wasn’t void of feeling any emotions.

“So where are we going?”you asked again, still looking away from his red piercing eyes.

“We’re leaving town, I havea cabin in the forest. I’ll be able to treat your wound there” He said, hisanswer genuine and concerned for your health.

“…Thank you, you’re tookind to a stranger like me” You say as you look up at him with a genuine smileand thankful for his kindness. The intimidation of the mask subsided as youwere now slightly aware of his intentions and the nature of his character.

“I…We must get going” Hesaid as he finally looked away. You could tell he was slightly flustered fromyour compliment.

“Yeah…” You softlybegan, knowing you had no choice. You worried for your family since you haven’thad any form of communication with them.

The masked male sensedyour concern and began walking.

“You wanted to know myname earlier…” He started saying as he stared out at the empty path in front ofyou both.

“It’s fine If you don’t wannatell me, I get –“

“Genji. My name is Genji”He interrupted your rambling.

“Oh. I’m [y/n] nice tomeet ya! I do wish however we met under better circumstances” You chuckled and smiled up athim.

“I do not think ourpaths would have crossed if it were not for the hounds” He said bluntly.

“I’m glad it has, though” you reinforced your statement with a small smile.

To be fair, he wasright. You hardly met anyone outside of town, any foreigners that came to thetavern were served by your father or mother. It was odd, meeting someone otherthan the local hunters. It was a nice change of setting despite the dire ordealthat you’re currently in. Yet feelings of fright still lingered in your gut,you had no experience of the outside world, little ammo left for your gun and aninjured ankle. Not the way you imagined you’d leave town, but it was certainlyan interesting one. With Genji, an unlikely saviour, it would certainly be an interestingadventure. Who knows, it may blossom into something more than role of thesaviour and the damsel.
