She makes lots of noises; grunts, sighs, groans. It’s basically a language that only you can understand at this point.

But in all seriousness, she started sleeping on her side—the snoring was due to her sleeping on her back.

Doesn’t care for public affection, not that she won’t slip her arm around your waist or have her hand on your thigh once in a while—but it isn’t often.

Except Paige was storming in already. And Azzi? Azzi was already in the girl’s face.

"I need some advice," he says, the moment they're settled, and Tommy stares forlornly at the slab of salmon that is definitely not going to be the right temperature in however many minutes. It takes him a moment to register what he's being asked, and it takes a concerted effort to keep his cool once he draws a conclusion.

Evan has a roster, Tommy knows. A specific set of people he reaches out to for specific areas of expertise, and Tommy, for all that they've been working on things, has never been a part of that.

He thinks of hearing that Evan admired him, once upon a time, and wonders if the Tommy hearing that had ever considered he might one day shift into the roster. It's not a promotion he's entirely prepared for. He hasn't trained for this.

"Okay," Tommy says.

"So there's... this guy," Evan says, and the irritation hits Tommy's spine before he can stop it. Not a call-up, after all.

He's trying to work through this stupid urge to be Everything All The Time for Evan, but it's work. It's still work.

"Is this guy ...handsome?" Strike two for the both of them. Straight to the flirt. Or, if Evan's feeling snippy, a direct line to the jealousy and accusations.

Evans brow furrows in confusion. "Tommy, what does his attractiveness have to do with -?" He veers. "I have to start again or I'm gonna lose my train of thought."

Strike three before Tommy's even learned This Guys name.

"There's a guy, from 137," Evan starts again. "You can eat, this is gonna take a minute."

Christ, add a 3-6-4 double-play by the opposition to the list.

The warmth hits his spine as Evan lays out the absolute stupidest turf war known to man, and the fellow firefighter who keeps flirting with him at scenes they both show up at.

"Like I'm free game, Tommy. Like every civil servant in the city isn't well aware I'm dating that crazy pilot from 217?"

"That's what they call me now?"

"So not the point, Tommy."

Evan drops Tommy's name like an endearment, like a sacrament, like an expletive. Tommy's never appreciated his name before he heard Evan Buckley use it like a prayer.

Crazy Pilot isn't the worst thing he's ever been called. He doesn't see anyone else out here attempting to get closer to Those Batshit Freaks At The 118. They might have a point.

"What... do you need my advice for?"

Evan rolls his eyes. "Tommy." A plea, this time. "I don't know how to let a dude down gently. Not on purpose, anyway."

"Is gentle the right move, here?" Evan blinks. "If you're sure he knows about me, maybe tossing the code of conduct with a highlighted sexual harassment section through his window one night is a better move."

"I know you're being facetious but the only reason I'm not doing that is because he'd find something flattering about me knowing where he lives."

The surge of protectiveness isn't new, but it feels like a new branch has grown off that tree. Not the point. Not the issue. But it's there all the same. "So he's been aggressive about it."

"He sent me flowers at work."

Better than home.

"C shift thought they were from you until I threw them in the trash."

Worse than home, actually.

Tommy doesn't have a solution. Tommy has the reminder of a man who'd clocked him in his late twenties before he'd figured himself out and scared Tommy into dating women for half a decade.

"I don't know if gentle is the right move," Evan says, and Tommy knows they aren't getting to dinner for a while. "I just know if the rumor mill gets hold of this they're gonna start calling you Crazy Cuck instead and then I'm gonna break my hand on their face."

between smartphones, computers, ipads, and screens everywhere, sometimes i feel like i have pudding instead of a brain and i need to engage in three-dimensional activities that don't involve staring at pixels all day, here are some ideas to get in touch with creativity and real word again.

𝟭. drawing and colouring ( 🎨 )

whether it's drawing landscapes, characters from your favorite series or simple doodles, putting the pen on the paper relaxes me instantly. if you are not good at freehand drawing or you're simply lazy, there are many coloring books for adults with mandalas (my personal favorites) or animals/natural landscapes, also online you can find many drawings to color that you can print. in discount stores you can find packs of colored markers at a great price, after all we don't need to be professionals.

𝟮. puzzles and diamond paintings ( 🧩 )

i recently discovered diamond paintings and i'm obsessed with them, on amazon you can find many sets with amazing designs and composing them is really relaxing. having something to focus on for a few hours a day is really essential, puzzles are perfect for this purpose too.

𝟯. reading and writing ( 📚 )

this is a more challenging activity, when we are burnout the last thing we want to do is use our brain, but reading a good novel or writing down a few pages in your journal can distract you from the present moment and give you a bit of a break while still keeping you productive. every second spent reading or writing is a second invested in your personal growth.

𝟰. experiment with outfits and makeup ( ✨ )

i have a lot of clothes but zero outfits, my favorite activity is decluttering my closet, putting away things i don't wear anymore and experimenting with new styles. also sitting at my desk and trying new makeup that's different from my usual eyeliner and mascara, i find it so fun and it's a great way to reconnect with my image when i've spent a month stuck in my room studying.

𝟱. cooking and baking ( 🧁 )

i'm not a good cook and i've burned more cakes than i care to admit, but i have to say it's terribly fun and therapeutic, especially if you're cooking with someone. u think anyone who cooks professionally hates having a second person in the kitchen with them, but when friends make a cake (ugly but tasty) and then eat it together in front of a cup of steaming tea - now, now, that's real therapy.

𝟲. working out, dancing, doing yoga ( 🩰 )

put on some music, dance in your room, follow your workout routine, lay out a mat and do stretching or yoga, connect with your body after being locked in your mind, physical activity is very important to keep your mind fresh ( mens sana in corpore sano ). if you can, go to a park, or an open space, just be careful of excessive stimuli.

The day he saw his children was the day Thomas was 'reborn.' He had a purpose outside of killing, outside of his uncle. He had you. He had your children. His own little *or not so little* family - Two mini-me's, what could go wrong?

A lot.

Thomas can get a bit overwhelmed when his uncles are yelling at him, or you, to "shut those kids up" - It reminds him of his childhood...not fun times.

Thomas worries quite a bit. About what, you ask? Everything…

What if they’re ostracized? What if they’ll suffer just as he does? What if he isn’t a good father? A good husband? Are they going to be okay? Safe? Are you going to be okay?

If he could, he'd be praising his babies to hell and back - He loves them so so much. If they happen to have the same skin condition as he does, or the same cleft-lip, you'll find him crying just thinking about their future. He really doesn't want them to hurt like he did. Like he does. He'll pray to the Lord above to keep them safe.

Okay...now back to the happy headcanons!

Tommy has chubby babies - Doesn't matter what size his partner is, the babies are FAT !! Tall kids, too. Chunky mini-me's with curly dark hair and freckles - Maybe a cleft lip??

He loves his babies very much - a very VERY protective and slightly overbearing dad {he just wants what’s best} 

He’d probably wrestle with them if he was in the mood. He'll go easy on them, don't worry :)

Would NEVER let them in the basement. Ever. Do you know how dangerous it is down there? Not to mention how traumatizing it could be…

Always always ALWAYS willing to help. He knows you're tired, and he's willing to do anything to help relieve some stress for both you and the family. He's surprisingly good with bedtimes, too. Although he can't read to his kids, he gives really good hugs before bed.

Totally would sew clothing and toys for his babies - They're a bit patchy and disheveled, but that's the aesthetic of this family, let's be real.

Accidentally teasing Arthur is quite easy to do. Being sweet and nice to him sometimes has the opposite effect with him. He might feel like you just pity him like you do Swanson or something. He thinks you’re a sweet girl and it’s in your nature to be kind.

It’s when you sort of accidentally stumble into him and he has to grab your hips to steady you and he’s red up to his ears talking about ‘excuse me miss’.

The second you make eye contact with him, looking up. Soft eyes and apples of your cheeks looking so plush, he can’t handle it and rushes off.

He thinks about that encounter for like… weeks.

Then you accidentally touch his hand while getting coffee in the morning light. He has never seen a girl so beautiful, can't find the words to say, just looking at your face and your hair carefully braided away for the night. His awkward fumbling makes him shrink away.

You smile at him and it's like he's frozen until Grimshaw nudges him out of the way.

The journal entries about you are so lovey dovey.

He's literally writing about all of these things, thinking what it would be like if you liked him. Everytime you catch him writing in his journal, he snaps it shut and asks what you need help with.

Arthur is just a bit too mean to himself when he writes about how you probably think he's too ugly. Trying to put some sense into himself doesn't seem to work; all of it knocks out when you greet him after a long day out. He’s back to imagining the both of you finding somewhere secluded to talk, away from camp where he can maybe kiss you behind a tree.

Grown ass man and his fantasies are this innocent. 🥹

God forbid you tease him with something more tangible. He brings you an item you've been asking all the more adventurous people to go and get for you and he's the only one who's agreed so far.

The kiss on the cheek you give him for completing the task makes him ask you if you need anything everyday for 2 weeks straight.

Completely the opposite. All of the girls treat him like crap because he's such an asshole all of the time. He's used to being sneered at by Karen and getting wary looks from Tilly and Mary-Beth.

If you're still sweet to him after all of his grumbling, his heavy handed flirting, and the copious warnings you get from all of the girls, anything you do is just luring him in, thinking you're doing it on purpose, whether it's true or not.

You're the only one of the girls who's brave enough to give him his laundry. The girls look on like you've just approached a bear.

At first he thinks you're playing some game with him but when you are consistent, he transitions into nods and tipping of his hat. Then he’s trying to corner you, hoping to hear you talk more, maybe give him a peek down the neckline of the more modest dress you wear.

Grimaces when Grimshaw smacks him on the back of the head for bothering you and distracting you from your chores.

When he works all day, doing back to back chores, forgetting to eat and you bring him a bowl of stew, he may not show it but he's already mentally referring to you as his woman.

You're used to hearing his spurs click somewhere near you when you greet him. He spends more time with you than anyone else, a drawled out pet name has you smiling just a bit.

Now he can't keep his eyes off of you, drawing you in his journal, trying to picture you posing nude for him. You say his name and he's half hard; you could be doing any number of innocent activities and he has some detail to focus on that drags his mind to the gutter.

His fantasies are so much more explicit from the get go. He's zero to a hundred, imagining you in his bed, ogling you when you bend over, torturing himself by thinking about what it would sound like if you moaned his name while he was balls deep in you. He might feel some shame but mostly he just likes thinking of you too much.

If you kiss him on the cheek after he saves you from nearly being knocked over by a runaway horse, he’s actually gonna turn his head so you have to kiss him on his lips. He only regrets you pulled away, bashfully gasping up at him before he could push it even more.
