I'm OBSESSED with the way you portray asexual relationships--first alastor and vox, now alastor and mimsy! I was wondering, what are your thoughts on alastor and lucifer? can you see them in anything close to a committed relationship, and if so, how would it look like? -✨

Thank you so much!!! What good timing for you to have sent this ask, hahaha. This time yesterday I would not have had much to say, but, uh, I started writing the Alastor and Lucifer scene I planned for the Mimzy fic and accidentally became obsessed. If motivation lasts, I want to do a fucked up little qp multichapter fic with them.

I think my take on radioapple specifically is that they have a very interesting flavor of antagonism where Alastor is resentful both of Lucifer's power and his potential to usurp Alastor's position in Charlie's life (not as a father figure but as the person she goes to for help with the hotel), while Lucifer is, like, overall a pretty decent person at baseline but is getting driven up a wall of pettiness by Alastor's pinpoint accurate cold reads of his insecurities and subsequent trolling.

And even though they're the perfect people to make each other feel insecure, none of it can escalate into genuine violence. Not only because Alastor would get his shit absolutely rocked (I'm not entirely convinced this would stop him) but because the crux of their competition is Charlie, not their ability to potentially beat the shit out of one another, so they're stuck in this hilarious cycle of passive-aggressiveness and psychological warfare.

However, again: like Charlie, Lucifer is a fairly decent person at heart. He's not inclined to be sympathetic to Alastor when he's being an asshole, but he's also not the kind of person who would leave him if, say, he found out that he has a massive, gaping chest wound from a holy weapon. Meanwhile Alastor isn't inclined to be particularly grateful for any services rendered, but he is maybe more likely to think, huh, if I thought Charlie was manipulatable... well, she clearly gets it from somewhere!

And I think that's just the funniest start to a developing relationship, haha. I think they'd end up way more platonic than whatever the hell radiostatic have going on, but damn if I'm not gonna manage to write them co-napping at least once. I admittedly also just really want to write Alastor doing shit to low-key sabotage Lucifer's wellbeing in petty ways and then swooping in to rescue him from the very issues he caused. What's a little gaslighting, sleep deprivation, and psychological torture as a basis for a relationship, hmmm?

I think that if they ended up in anything describable as "committed," it would be committment through Charlie and through the hotel, through which they eventually end up in a weird little not-romantic not-platonic not-loving not-hateful definitely-overly-invested something, rather than because they actively pursued one another. Pavlovian-ass basis for a relationship.

Bollywood is Hindi cinema, an entire genre of movies and television shows that are usually in Hindi and tend to contain extremely dramatic fight scenes, colorful dance numbers and are mainly love stories. Bollywood is basically the Indian version of Hollywood, but is well-known and loved in many European and Asian countries. Pavitr, being a Hindi-speaking boy living in India, would 100% watch Bollywood movies or serials. Bollywood serials tend to be very dramatic and corny, which is where I got this HC from!!

The Spider-Gang (spider-teens??) watching a Bollywood Serial!!

Pavitr would be the one who recommended the serial to the gang in the first place. Whenever he's not being Spider-man, hanging out with Gayatri or doing schoolwork, he's watching these corny serials with his Aunt, who always has one playing in the background while she does work. He finds them extremely entertaining and gets pretty emotionally invested in them after a while. He thought that watching this serial with his friends would be a fun way for them to bond over something that isn't that serious.

Gwen would be the kind to get extremely emotionally invested in these serials. From the beginning to the end, she's completely on her toes and fully follows the storylines of all the characters. When she can't watch the show, she calls Pav and asks about the latest episode and makes him give her extremely detailed explanations on all the events that happen in the episodes she missed, no matter how uneventful they were. She seems like the type that would cry if one of the characters died, even if it was a very silly death.

Miles thinks they're extremely similar to the telenovelas his mom and abuela watch, and therefore doesn't take them as seriously as Gwen does because he's seen series like them before. He'd watch them because his friends are watching them, and because Gwen likes it, probably wouldn't have watched it on his own time. He does however get emotionally invested in specific characters. Unlike Gwen, he doesn't care about the entire show, but when something happens to that one character he likes, he goes ballistic.

Hobie thought it was the funniest thing he's ever seen. He seems like the type who'd keep talking during a movie, saying stuff like "That can't even happen in real life" or "how is that even possible?" and would be an absolute pest when you're trying to enjoy the episode. Pav's probably tells him to shut up at least ten times per episode, and he begrudgingly folds his arms over his chest and watches. Even then, he does low-key enjoy watching it, no matter how unrealistic it may be. He thinks their problems are funny.

Margo thinks they're very boring and slow-paced compared to what she's used to. She's the type to like fast-paced action movies and nearly falls asleep whenever the gang is watching these episodes. She does however, like making fun of the dramatic entrances of the "bad guys" in the series, like the mother-in-law, step-mother, etc...and finds them very funny. She and Hobie are constantly talking about how unrealistic the series are to the point where the rest of the gang have to kick them out while so they can continue watching in peace.

Bonus (not a part of the spider-gang but wanted to include anyway):

Miles-42, an avid telenovela fan, gets just as emotionally invested in the shows as Gwen. Although he wouldn't cry while watching it, he would definitely feel very sad the rest of the day if something bad happened to one the characters in the series. He'd mope around and would be tapping his leg in frustration while he waits for the next episode to come out so he can find out what happened to his favorite character (no matter how obvious it is)

Maitreyi (my spider-sona), like Margo finds it a little bit boring. She's more of a fast-paced movie kind of gal and only watches it because Pav, Gwen and Miles like it. She doesn't tend to get invested in the show but every once in a while, a character that she really likes will show up and she'll be a little bit more excited to watch it than usual. She stands while she watches TV though, she doesn't like sitting down, it feels too vulnerable. So while the rest of the gang is all cuddled up in blankets on the couch, getting ready to watch, she's just standing there like 🧍‍♀️ "turn it on"

You know what. Since I really can't spend my entire life drawing every fishing misfortune for Asmodeus♡ I think I'll tell you all some key points. To truly emphasize what I mean with bad RNG.

In Spring, 2 days in a row were raining. I fished nearly all of both days and failed to get a catfish. The next day I was able to buy a catfish from the traveling salesperson (for 1000g). Two days after buying the catfish for the community center, Linus sent me a letter saying thanks for being nice.... and gave me a catfish. Thanks.

Out of the requests I have had for fishing, I have to emphasize the fact Maru's request was honestly so aggressive it made me debate doing it. But. I had to. For the affection and money.

That is the most aggressive fish needing I have ever seen.

Spring 18 (one of the rainy days) I got a dinosaur egg from a treasure chest while fishing. I had no coop at the time. I still don't have a big coop. I cannot hatch the dino egg I caught in the rain over a month ago. It's just chilling in a storage chest in my house.

I had about a week without requests, figured I would just get fishing when they came back, and opted to upgrade my pick axe in the mean time. So, while fishing while the pick axe is upgrading, I figured MAY AS WELL EAT MY THREE CAVE CARROTS since what else am I spending stamina on.

The pick axe is completed! I see a new request! Sebastian wants a cave carrot. I'm going to commit murder. So I go to the mines and spend forever in there, barely getting home before I pass out in game. The next day I'm on my way BACK to the mines to do my best to get a cave carrot for Sebastian and pause in front of Pierre's.... because there's a new request. I know it. I know what it is. I look and yup! "I need a largemouth bass". I sigh and accept it for the next day. I fail the cave carrot quest which further plummets me into Town Fisher status. And after Sebastian's request expired, while I had Clint's active for the largemouth bass, Willy posts a request for "need to keep the fishing scene alive! please catch two largemouth bass". Both large mouth bass obtained + one handed over to Clint...

I sold a lot of fish to Willy over the course of the file and Elliott has since informed me that the anchovy he bought "had a unique taste. not sure where you got it." SIR FROM THE WATERS BY YOUR SHACK. SQUARE UP BUDDY.

(Harvey and Penny have also commented on my mediocre fish they bought from Willy. As if this is my fault they go for the low quality and NOT the iridium fish I've sold to him. Like this is MY FARMER'S FAULT that they don't know how to buy quality fish.)

It's not even fall yet and Asmo is fishing level 8. Still no big coop or barn but there has been a house upgrade recently. And Asmo bought a fish pond for his farm because may as well own up to being the town fisherman (he hates it here, he wants Pelican Town to adore him and it's now his life goal to make them all love him out of petty spite).

It's honestly been the funniest bad RNG I have ever experienced.

The one game file I make without a fish-named farmer. And this is what happens. Designated town fisher.

"Surely you don't HAVE to do all the fishing requests. You know this right?" Yeah but how else am I gonna make the town need my dumbass farmer if they don't need anything but fish! How will I make the town actually appreciate his talents if the only talent he has is fishing!

Also somehow I still don't have any rings on Asmo. Like I usually get a glow ring or something while going down the mines but I am at level 30 and there have been zero rings obtained. I think I have to actually go do the night fishing bundle to get a glow ring WHICH IS HILARIOUSLY .... fishing. This is truly the only logical solution for the file so I shoulda seen it coming. Gotta wait for Fall though in order to complete that bundle.

I've recently marathoned all 8 theatrical Muppet movies ,and these are my rankings.Keep in mind I think all 8 are good movies,I just prefer some to others

8.The Muppets

I like the nostalgic look back stuff.....But the peoblem is I dont like Walter or the human characters .This film is the most meh to me

7.Muppets From Space

ITs diffrent,being the only non musical in the series ,and I do like that the film focuses on my favorite Muppet Gonzo and doesnt showcase just the Muppet Show guys but the Muppets Tonght guys as well but the story isnt all there,I dont think Jeffrey Tambours villain has the right ending and it is painfully 90's

6.Great Muppet Caper

Oooooh for putting this so low I might get some hate,but I shall explain .This is the most irreverant ,silly and funniest Mupppet movie,if you just want to laugh this is great .THis film is pure Henson wackyness,the film is not taking itself seriously at all.....And while I enjoy that.....I prefer a Muppet movie to have a bit more heart and story to go with the silly FOr me the characters,story and songs are a bit lacking .Again jokes are brillaint,performances are good (Charles Grodin looks like he is in LOVE with Miss Piggy and it is amazing) and it may have my favorite cameo in any Muppet movie .I do like the movie,I just like 5 others better

5.Muppets Most Wanted

This film is VERY similar to Great Muppet Caper ,and while not funnier,I think its more solid .I adore the songs,especially the Big House ,I think the story is really good ,I love Sam and Ty Burrels chemistry ,the cameos are top notch ,Tina Fey as the Russian warden Nadya delivers one of the best human characters in all the Muppet movies and the film has possibly the best villain in all the Muppet movies in Constantine who is good mix of hilarious and threatening .Not all the effects worked and....I really wish someone else other then Ricky Gervais played the secondary villain Dominic Badguy.Overall though its an enjoyable film

4.Muppets Take Manhatten

The one that surprised me .Of the orignal three its the one people dont talk about but ....I love it,its a bit more of a low key Muppet film ,ITs a much more character focused film. .The Dabney Coleman scene cracks me up,Saying Goodbye is tearjerking and the finale is spectacular

3.Muppet Christmas Carol

A legit really good take on a Christmas Carol,possibly one of the best takes .The first film without Jim Henson ,and I think it showed the Muppets could survive .Less about the jokes and more about the heart and artistry while still having fun and humor . the Muppet performers are on top form,especially Gonzo and Rizzo as the narrators ,but the highlight of the film is honestly the phenomenal performance of Michael Caine as the coldhearted Scrooge ,giving off a legit good dramtic performance while talking to Puppets .Also the songs by Pqaul Williams are just top notch

2.The Muppet Movie

The one that started it all,a heartwarming story about a bunch of weirdos coming together in pursuit of a dream,its sweet,its funny ,Paul Williams songs are great (Especially Im Going to Go Back There Some Day and Rainbow Connection),theres some fun cameos (Mel Brooks steals the show ) and Charles Durning gives an underrated performance as a psychotic fast food mogul

This....WAs one of the first movies I ever saw,and I have never stopped loving it .The muppet mayhem is funny(DEad Toms Dead always gets me ),its exciting ,the songs are all top notch ,and it has the best human cast with Kevin Bishop as the adventurous young Jim .Jennifer Saunders asa bombastic Inn owner,Billy Connolly as old drunkn pirate Billy Bones and the legend himself Tim Curry hamming it up as the villainous Long John Silver in perhaps his greatest performance ,cause he is equally great with the comedy as he is at delivering tender softer moments with Jim as a sort of surrogate father

Honestly my (hot? cold? lukewarm?) takes on the main six bad batch characters boil down to:

1. Hunter is a good man who cares very deeply about what’s happening around him, but he’s struggling in his new situation and too paralyzed by the fear of getting the people he loves hurt or being forced to hurt them that he won’t confront either the Empire or the Crosshair situation head on. He’s in an impossible situation and he’s trying. He’s latched onto being Omega’s dad in a way that’s both positive (learning how to be more than a soldier, providing a kid with love and support and a safe place to be) and…not exactly negative, but less positive (being a little desperate to do the dad thing right because he’s so unsure of what to do about everything else) He’s also in dire need of a hug and has probably been crying under his helmet since episode one.

2. Crosshair is an asshole who cares about exactly three, maybe four, and maybe even five people in the galaxy at this point, but the whole thing he has going on in the show is more complicated than “it was the chip the whole time” or “it was just Crosshair the whole time.” His actions in the first half of the first season were the chip; during the second half of the season he had a lot more agency, but it’s still complicated. I expect that whether the chip is really out and he’s just experiencing the after effects of being electro-shocked into submission to turn the chip up multiple times, or whether it’s still in there but operating on such a low level he has at least some free will, that we’re never going to get a chip removal scene with him. This is just something he’s going to have to live with and that he’s going to have to sort out what’s the chip, what’s trauma, and what’s just him, and that his redemption arc (getting past choices he did make and getting over his attitude about the other clones) is going to come with a recovery arc.

3. Echo isn’t grumpy, he’s in @&$#%£# chronic pain all the time. He’s the only generalist on the team, which means that his role sometimes overlaps with Tech’s (mechanic, medic, pilot/copilot), but it also overlaps with Hunter’s (making plans, making calls, being the one who tends to fight up close). He’s also sort of the team spy—he’s the one who sneaks into places or maybe even out of places and gets intel that the rest of the team can use—and the guy in charge when Hunter’s not there. And more than everything else, Echo’s just…he’s just an exceptionally good guy with a solid conscience that won’t let him rest when there’s more he could do, he isn’t paralyzed the same way Hunter is because he’s already had the worst happen, and he spent a lot of that first season seething more and more at what was happening in the galaxy and that they as a team weren’t doing more about it. He’s the kind of guy who would fearlessly try to shoot Palpatine in the face if given the chance, even if he knew Palpatine was a crazy powerful space wizard.

4. Tech isn’t cold and he isn’t stiff and humorless, he’s just got a way of talking that makes it sound like he is. He’s actually very expressive if you know what to look for, he’s low-key the funniest character on the show, he’s extremely affectionate with Omega in his own way, and listen this is me grabbing y’all by the lapels when I say that their sibling relationship means the absolute world to me and that if we get an episode focusing on that in this next season I will become extremely deceased. I will be unhinged. You’ve been warned.

5. I’ve already gone on a bit of a rant about Wrecker, but basically; he’s not stupid, he’s an expert in his field and the only one on the team with an ounce of emotional intelligence, he picks up on what Omega needs more quickly than the other guys do most of the time, and he comes across as loud and reckless but if you pay attention he’s usually very aware and careful with how strong he is (for example, the way that he’ll punch playfully punch Echo in the shoulder the same way he does with everyone else, but he’s a lot gentler with Echo than he is with, say, Tech or Crosshair).

6. Omega is precious and I want to adopt her. She’s simultaneously naïve and a little too grown up for someone her age, which probably comes from a combination of having been stuck on Kamino, mostly in Nala Se’s lab her whole life until she left with the batch and having probably been more of…well, a prized goldfish or even a test subject in Nala Se’s eyes than a daughter. She’s got a self-worth estimation of about zero (she was so surprised that the batch came back to Kamino for her that it hurt) and is very quick to blame herself or push her own feelings aside when things go wrong, so it was very gratifying to see her start to grow out of it and start to become more confident towards the end of the season. She’s a tiny little bad ass and I’m excited to see where she ends up at the end of the show.

Edit: Okay, adding this because I’m worried I came across as a little combative on some of these. These are just my condensed takes on the characters; I know everyone’s going to have their own interpretations and I actually really like seeing those different ones, even when I don’t agree, because it helps me see the character in a new way.

Probably not. I actually saw a take from an Izzy Stan once that I low key agreed with but I didn't reblog it because obviously, but it is relevant here so I'll repeat it.

Jack and Ed have a similar response or a crowd turning against them, probably because they came up in piracy similarly, but they have that response for vastly different reasons, and in different ways.

When a crowd turns against Ed he takes it personally and tries to kill everybody. When a crowd turns against Jack he doesn't take it personally and tries to kill everybody. I hope this makes sense (using episodes 5, 8, and 10 as evidence) somewhere along the line they both learned that the correct reaction to a crowd turning against you is to try to get rid of as many of them as you can, which makes sense, if you're a pirate captain and a crew turns against you it's mutiny o'clock. And Ed and Jack are the two pirate captains ever so...

Now I could see an argument for the Jack doesn't take it personally assertion because he does in fact say the line "well when tie an anchor around your leg and toss you overboard it feels pretty personal." And Ed has the line "I know he comes on a bit strong at first but he's insecure". I tend to think he could be insecure without taking that specific scene with Karl personally given that it's repeatedly established that the crew aren't very serious pirates, which I think Jack gives wayyyyy less of a fuck about than Izzy so long as they're drinking with him, but could still probably use to mend a bruised ego. so whether he takes things like this personal hinges on the tossing you overboard line, which he may or may not have been lying about. We have no solid evidence either way. So I tend to waffle based on what's funniest. I've been on a he's lying kick recently because he's my garbage little dirtbag meowmeow. But sometimes I think about him surviving three separate mutinies and having to agree to this plan because he's broke now and I think about the fact that he showed up in a dinghy and I'm like... Meow meow is also having a midlife crisis and he can't die and that is very funny to me. So that statement about him not taking it personally might not be true and as much as I think the line about pirates not needing friends was pure gass to try to hurt Ed for leaving, which he absolutely would have cried about later if the cannonball hadn't immediately given him much bigger problems, he is pretty fucking blaze about the whole thing the next day. And he was planning on leaving with just Ed.

Now what I want you to consider is imagine he has been mutinied three times. I didn't think about this til right now but I want us to think more about why he does say "whose with me in" this scene. If enough of those fuckers agree to leave with him, Stede is no longer the fucker with the boat, Jack can leave Stede and Buttons on the beach of blind man's cove for the British to find the next day, take his crew, and fuck off to go be Bonnie and Clyde core evil boyfriends with Ed again. That was never ever ever gonna happen but I feel like Jack doesn't quite know how astronomically long of a shot that is. I haven't thought about why he would faument mutiny against Stede other than "he's a douchebag and trying to take a shot as he leaves" until now but there is a reason. Like any more opportunist less tightly knit pirate crew would be like "sorry about your bird Buttons but Blackbeard and Calico Jack know what they're doing we can make more money if we go with them"

Jack doesn't know how deep these emotional ties run is what I'm saying. He doesn't know they're fambly. He doesn't know that Ed is madly in love with the guy who he's been hanging out with for *checks notes* these past few weeks/one moon cycle. How would he know that? He showed up yesterday and spent all of it drunk.

I think too much about this man.

Anyway TL;DR: nah he seems way to chill about it the next day and I think his intention was always to leave with Just Ed he just wanted to see if he could get more bang for his buck and when he couldn't ... Well... "Later losers."

The funny part of the scene is the fact that for all of Hannibal's seemingly supernatural powers of smell and taste he cannot tell that meat isn't Freddie Lounds and goes on and on about him being able to taste fear in the meat. Retroactively one of the funniest scenes in the whole show and low key one of the most revealing about how full of shit Hannibal actually is.

Thirteen Era Rewatch: The Witchfinders

I'm re-watching Thirteen's era in lead up to the Centenary and since this is likely going to be my last full re-watch for a while I thought I'd do a post on each ep where I just go over all the things I love, hate or just have some general thoughts on.

Yaz going off on her own to see Willa like the legend she is!! I feel like you can sometimes tell that maybe 13 trusts Yaz to do stuff more than Ryan and Graham, probably bc she’s a police officer and has those skills

I like when 13 has to deal with shit for being a woman. I think this era does fairly good at acknowledging there’s been a change but not letting that change dictate the entire era. And I love how 13 handles it too, being sarcastic and making snide comments. Love her.

I actually kinda find 13 even saying she’s a woman a bit weird/interesting?? I guess bc we know she doesn’t really give a fuck about that sort of stuff so hearing her ‘be like it is a tough time for us women’ is cool and a bit odd to me idk.

James fancying Ryan. He’s so me. And I think it’s cute how Ryan handles it through the ep. Like they do actually get on a bit. And I like that he kinda plays into it at the end of the ep when he tells James he can’t stay.

Yaz talking about the bullying! I really feel like we know a fair bit about Yaz’s life idk why ppl say they STILL don’t know her when 8 eps into S11 I’m like yeah we know a decent amount amount idk.

Potentially the funniest scene in the whole show ngl

James calling out the Doctor for hiding behind that title makes me scream bc she’s probably the Doctor hiding behind the title the most and she already doesn’t really know who she is and it just gets worse as the era goes on. It’s all connected i stg !!

Something something James’ shitty mum making him a twat but 13’s shitty mum/life making her good. But also this reminds me of 12 and his arc of going from twat to not twat and worrying if he’s a good man or not idk

I kinda feel like there’s a low-key mum theme in S11 as well as obviously the dad theme. Like there’s Ryan’s dead mum and nan, there’s James’ twatty mum, there’s Epzo from 11.02’s shit mum, there’s the mum (who wasn’t Really the mum) in 11.09. Idk

Also 13 once again confronting people when the fam isn’t there to see her be Like That properly. Inch resting theme.

This is one of my fave eps of S11, the vibes are just so good, it’s pretty funny, the topic of 13 being treated different for being a woman is low-key but works pretty good. Everyone has something to do. It’s cool.

Character wise it’s probably best for Yaz bc we find out more about the bullying and see her be more police-y and 13 bc of the woman stuff and her chats with James and Becca. But Ryan and Graham defo have fun in this ep too even if it’s not huge character stuff

Current Word Count: 88,519 Summary: What kind of “Hero” of Regeneration would she be to leave an infant to fend for itself? Someone had to have left it here for a reason. The question was, of course, why? But as she lifted the little thing carefully into her arms, the motion reminding her of nights so far in the past, now, the why seemed almost tragically clear: this baby was of mixed blood. Chapter Summary: Raine and Regal both try to navigate whatever weird relationship they have going on...and Sheena comes to town! Pairing/Characters: Raine, Original Characters, will also feature Genis, Regal, and Sheena. Endgame is Regal/Raine. Extra Info: This is technically an Accidental Baby Acquisition story, but I liken it more to “Doorstep Baby” literature because it sure ain’t cute. Rating: Mature, for themes. Genre: Eventual romance, gen, family, character study.

The opening scene to this chapter, with Raine saying Regal sounds terrible but low-key thinkin’ it’s hot, is pulled hilariously enough from one of the funniest experiences I’ve ever had at my current job, where a male coworker was talking close to my desk and the person who sat across from me thought it was someone new/she hadn’t met yet and messaged me on the in-office chat app and asked who the deep and sexy voice belonged to. I had to sadly inform her it was our accountant, whose voice had gone down like four octaves with his illness and was completely unrecognizable.

“I would like to love you better, but you have to let me.” I’m proud of this line, actually. I feel like this pretty much encompasses everything these two characters have been wrestling with for the last two and a half years.

He wants to know her so that he can love her better. And she’s a bit afraid of that, because years ago she was a waste of someone’s time and she doesn’t want to be that for him.

Also, we finally get to the core of Raine’s issues on a more general level: she always feels she loves people incorrectly. It’s either too little or too much. It’s out of her control, and she hates not being in control. It makes her feel powerless and bad.

“Those We Meet in Heaven” is a spoof on “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” and the dance scene Regal references is a scene in the actual book. The novel is exactly what it says it is in the title: it’s about a man who dies and the 5 people he meets in heaven. These five guide him through…almost like an orientation, and many of them are people he doesn’t expect. They all are there to teach him some kind of lesson that “makes all the difference.” The fourth person the main character meets is his wife who died at 47 of cancer. Her heaven is being able to attend different weddings day in and out, and when it’s time for him to receive his lesson from her, they are dancing at their own wedding.

This is the dance scene Regal mentions in his letter.

In it, the main character finally asks his wife why she looks like she did the day he married her, and she tells him “Because I thought you’d like it that way.”

He asks her to change it so that she looks like she did in “the end” and she does. They smile at each other and dance together tenderly. He wanted her to look the way she did in the end because that is the last time he saw her alive & the version of her he loves wholly and completely.

As Regal states in his letter, the novel itself is more about the choices people make and how small things can affect others, sometimes to startling and unknowing degrees. It’s meant to kind of harken back to the things the characters have done to change the world, and in a more meta sense, it works to call back to the previous chapter’s discussion about how no relationship is a waste of time.

Also: it took me FOREVER to get to this bookshelf he's been saving for her, it seems. Regal thought about it briefly in the chapter where he shows her the library.

Nice, please let me know what you think when you start Succession. It's quite slow at the beginning but when shit pops off, it is so wild 🤣🤣🤣 And like, the funniest part is that no one is likeable. Like there are characters you will like, but at the end of the day, everyone is a piece of shit and no matter who you might root for, it's pointless lol.

And I also want to analyze Rhett. At first glance, characters like him and that look like him usually do not interest me at all. I'm quick to overlook them because they are either spoiled, arrogant, entitled, all three, or a bully. I would say the Tillerson boys align more with these descriptions, and that's probably because they are rich and white and blond and used to getting what they want in thr small town they live in. And Rhett doesn't seem to be any of those things, probably because he isn't rich and is trying really hard to be successul at bull riding and keep his family safe.

Like, he clearly is not perfect-he is very angry and is quick to lose himself in alcohol and I've seen other people on Tumblr say that he needs to work on his anger and drinking issues and I agree. But it's clear he cares about his family, he cares about Maria, and he is just trying to do the right thing. I love that he is flawed and he knows it, and he is just trying to live.

I loved the scene when he asks Maria out because I find it so funny when boys always try to flex their language skills and fail horribly. And I speak Spanish so I laughed at everything Maria said to him and he was just like, "Don't know what you said but I will do anything you ask of me." Like, he is very imperfect, but you can tell deep down he is loving and just wants to live in peace.

I love the contrast between the Abbott boys and the Tillersons. Like, Rhett is so low key in comparison and I like that about him. He's got grit and determination but the way he gets a little bashful sometimes, it's great. I feel for him because he does care about his family and has been so ride or die but for what! To get caught up in these crazy happenings that are bigger than him and that he doesn't even know about? Let him live!

Cecilia's probably my fave Abbott (her characterisation and how she's dealing with everything is just so interesting to me) but Rhett and Amy are up there as well. Jury's out on Perry even though I do feel bad for him with Rebecca disappearing and all that.

I ended up finishing the rest of the season today btw and whewww. Who wrote this show I just want to take a look inside their brain 😂
