Also I think I have COVID again. A patient came in this week who didn’t test despite having been on Paxlovid when they tested negative a few days ago. This is EXACTLY when a rebound would happen. And it’s okay for them to come in per our clinic rules. I sent them a message to ask them to test that morning as a favor to me. They did not. They coughed in my face. They resented wearing the mask. They brought me food from their farm that I couldn’t bring myself to eat so I took it with a smile and then threw it away because they’d been COUGHING ON IT while we talked. And now I have a splitting, sick headache that is not my usual migraine and I felt chilled and I’m just waiting for the skin burning to start to test. Except I ALSO got exposed to fucking WHOOPING COUGH that’s going around a local church, because they didn’t publicize it and so my patient didn’t even know they’d been exposed until TODAY. I hate it here.

fingers crossed i wake up and not feel like shit tomorrow morning because i am currently feeling like i'm getting sick and tomorrow is not only the last day on the job for the term but also a very busy day for my office and i would feel really bad if i had to force my three poor coworkers to pick up the slack for me if i'm too ill to leave the house :(

#i wanna talk about me #my covid test came back negative at least but i don't feel good #really tired. sore throat. lungs feel vaguely weird. headache that's gone between moderate and Bad all evening #my temperature was a little high but not truly fever territory yet...i'll test again in the morning i guess #if my temp hits 100 or if i feel like utter dogshit i'm staying home. but i won't be happy about it

UGH.

#went on my first real work trip in FOUR YEARS yesterday. had one meeting.#woke up this morning and was getting ready for a day of stuff with another one tomorrow #only to find out that one of the only five other people in the wednesday meeting just tested positive for covid #and another had found out she'd been separately exposed as well #so today turned into doing all my meetings on zoom and rearranging travel plans #and now instead of a professional thing i'd been really looking forward to and then a fun weekend add-on with the fam #i'm flying home late tonight to isolate in our third-floor guest room while boyfriend parents etc.#at least we got credit for his and bébé's last-minute flight cancellations #and we decided to leave the dog with the sitter that had already been arranged to just have one less thing on the collective plate for now #but UGH #and what's extra infuriating is that i am probably fine. i got boosted just a few weeks ago and wasn't like hugging anyone or whatever.#but you just don't know and when there's an actual case it's reason to be actually careful #and i'm just so exhausted and bummed about a lot of things already and had so been looking forward to this whole trip #best laid plans #as they say #anyway cross your fingers for me and the battery of rapid tests i'll be taking this weekend #and in addition to staying negative i'm also very concerned about whether anyone will be comfortable will me at thanksgiving #so that's a whole other thing #UGHHHHHHH #fucking #coronavirus

I think I’ve caught a sinus infection and it is hitting my lungs hard.

I do not want to have to go back to the ER… I don’t think they’ll let me out without sticking my ass in an actual hospital room for a few days this time.

#I had a negative Covid test this morning but I’m getting a lot worse :/#I think it might be bronchitis #my chest is so sore from all the coughing and I feel like I can’t breathe #it’s hard to tell when it started cause I cough a lot normally from the long covid #but my chest normally doesn’t feel this painful and tight #debating if the walk in is worth it or if it’ll be a waste of money #it seems like half the time they don’t want to treat you unless you’ve been sick for at least two weeks #I dont want to have to pay the copay twice if they just tell me to come back if im not better in a few days
