Family time with baby Yuji ✨✨
Family time with Baby Yuji 🥹 I didnt know how to to go about it so I just rambled on 🤍 tysm for the ask
Tumblr media
When Yuji was a baby Sukuna loved cradling him in his massive arms despite denying it with a cough. When Yuji got older 4-8 he loves riding around on his dad’s shoulders, bragging on how strong his dad was and sticking his tongue out at kids who wanted to laugh. Of course there are plenty of times when as a family you’d go on walks and young Yuji would take falls from trying to grab a tree branch or his did stretching and shaking him off because he forgot Yuji was on his shoulders 🥹 Yuji would just sit up smiling rubbing the back of his head when you’d both turn back to make sure he was okay. Swatting Sukuna and telling him to be careful while he rolled his eyes setting Yuji back on shoulders, “I told ya woman he doesn’t weigh anything maybe if you fed him more he wouldn’t be this way!” Of course Sukuna being the good husband he is, he sighed and turned to look at his wife. Before he could saying anything he noticed a cut on his son’s knee and frowned. So he brought up a hand and used his reverse cursed technique to heal him, “Brat why didn’t you tell me you were hurt?”
Or the time Yuji was crying because both of you left him with a baby sitter, not Uraume, not your lady in waiting. BUT A RANDOM LADY HE DIDNT KNOW he laid in his bed sniffling and crying. He refused to eat or leave his room all day. If you didn’t love him anymore you just had to tell him 😭 Both you and Sukuna hadn’t made it back till after sun set, to see the panicked baby sitter who was frantically explain how Yuji was reacting. So there you went sitting on the edge of his bed heart aching at his little whimpers and cries “Yuji, baby, please” laying your han son his back he squirmed away from you under the blanket. Sighing you watched Sukuna walk in sitting on his other wide, “Brat.” Was all he said as the mattress shifted under his weight, he laid a heavy hand on Yuji’s back. Yuji squirmed away bumping into you before moving back and pulling the blanket over his head to cover his tear stained puffy red face.
“Yuji.” Was all Sukuna had to say in a strict voice before he looking at his dad like he really did betray him. “You don’t love me anymore.” You looked away not wanting to laugh at your son especially when your husband was being firm with him. “I told you this morning your mother was leaving, I asked if you wanted to go with me and Uraume or stay home.” Yuji puffed his cheeks out “i said stay home because i thought you were gonna stay with me..” You stayed silent as the two had a stare off before Yuji sighed, he looked at you “you don’t love me either! You just left me!” You gasped “Yuji! I came to see you this morning before leaving and you said you wanted to sleep so you were gonna wait for daddy.” You fixed your stare on him and he huffed pulling the blanket over his head before the sniffles started up. Once again Sukuna said his name in a warning tone, before he sat up pushing the blanket off of him, “you left me alone all day and now you don’t want too.” “Stop acting like brat.” Was all Sukuna said before he hauled Yuji up and into his said while laying down in Yuji’s bed. The frame creaking obviously not made to hold Sukuna’s real weight, Yuji was still sniffling not hugging his dad back. Seeing Sukuna motion you over you got into Yuji’s bed, Sukuna turned to face you. Both you squishing Yuji in a hug while he sniffled and let the tears fall. “Yuji…” Sukuna’s voice was soft, you looked down at your son who chose bury his face in his dad’s chest, “I would never abandon you, you ARE my son i could never leave you behind or ..” he hesitated, “or stop… loving you. As long as you’re here, and I have life I will always come back for you and your mother.” Yuji rubbed his face back and forth on his dad’s chest mumbling an “‘m sorry.” Yuji tried to hold onto the both of you, and there you all slept, Sukuna hugging you and Yuji against his chest. That even when the bed frame cracked half way through the night no one moved a muscle.
There’s also that time when you decided to take Sukuna into town 😭 Yuji was holding your hand and his daddy’s hand. Both of your hold tight in his hands because he liked to run, jump and pull his legs up to swing by yours and Sukuna’s hands. Sure he was heavier at 6 but how could either of you say no to his little laughs and big smile? Even walking through the city when he let go your hand he persisted on walking funny as long as he could hold his daddy’s hand. Of course Sukuna got tired of having to lean down and hold Yuji’s hand so he shifted back to his “human” form. To which Yuji went back to grabbing your hand and his dad’s hand. Happily running between both of you to swing himself, the townspeople were almost in awe that Sukuna could show emotion other than displeasure, annoyance and bod thirst as he usually did when they would stand before him. They stood in disbelief that you really had managed to birth his son and that you and that son had managed to tame him enough that he didn’t just kill the man that accidentally knocked over a flower stand and splashed him with old plant water. Everyone watched as Sukuna’s free hand came up ready to slice the Man until they saw how his son pulled on his hand with a pout and pleading eyes. Sukuna sighing and pulling his robes off his shoulders to hang on his wait gave the vendor a fixed stare “Fools should know their place, you should take your place quickly.” Waving his hand he dismissed the vendor and you squeezed Yuji’s hand letting go. He smiled bright before hugging his dad’s arm, Sukuna tsk’ed but pulled Yuji into his side, “don’t think this changes anything brat.”
Then there was Sukuna falling sick 🫠 A real miracle right there on it’s own. Yuji refused to leave his side no matter how many times you dragged him with you. Sukuna would close his eye to rest when you’d close the door leaving with Yuji. Just to hear the door open, a sliver of light filling the room before the door closed and hearing the little patter of Yuji’s feet stopping by his bed side. He tried to force back his smile when Yuji pushed a chair to the bed and tried to replace the wet rag you had left on his forehead, anymore and he would’ve drowned with all the water Yuji poured on him. In the end Yuji crawled over him crawling under the blanket to hug his dad. He didn’t say anything just laid there like good moral support. Sukuna staring down at his son with soaking wet hair and a wet pillow sighed and wrapped an arm around his son pulling him closer, “You shouldn’t be here Yuji.” Yuji looked up at him with big eyes, “Your mom will wring you out if she finds you here.” “Then hide me!” Was all Yuji said pulling the blanket up over his head, “‘m not leaving.” Sukuna gave him a few heavy pats before leaning back into the wet pillow and throwing the sopping rag into the bowl of water, “Alright I warned ya.”
You could feel your eye twitch when you found them both passed out. Sukuna snoring and Yuji half on his chest going up and down with Sukuna’s breathing. “If he tried to hide it was terrible.” Was all you said getting closer, on the night stand half hanging onto the bowl was the soaking rag, wringing it out you placed it back on Sukuna’s forehead. Feeling Yuji’s forehead he was burning up. Leaning over your husband you fixed Yuji so he was laying down, he mumbled something in his sleep reaching out for your hand. Of course Sukuna hit you with a light smack on your rear and he chuckled, “don’t worry about him I’ll fix him up.” You watched as Sukuna started to sit up bringing you up with him, your son mumbling in his sleep trying to hug his daddy. You watched as he’s used his reverse cursed technique healing Yuji like it was nothing. “Ryomen.. if you can..” you stopped when Yuji barely opened his eyes blinking sleepily and reaching for you, “Don’t ask to many questions sweetheart, our son wants you here with us, “get in.” So you didn’t protest taking off your outter robe and getting into bed with your boys mumbling “so you were just looking for some attention hm?” Sukuna side eyed you with a smile before pulling you over to kiss the side of your temple, “Sure if that makes you feel better.”
Then there was Yuji’s birthday 🥹 all he wanted was to go out and play in the snow. “Mommy! Da-daddy?” He looked around your room, no one, he ran to the throne room, no one. Tea room? No, daddy’s bathing room? No. … separated rooms? No.. his room?! No ;-; he was on the verge of crying he couldn’t find Uraume either, so he walked to the kitchen reasoning he could eat something and keep looking later. That’s where he found you arguing with his dad and Uraume looking panicked. “ITS YUJI’S BIRTHDAY HE SHOULD EAT WHAT HE LIKES.” You argued back, “YUJI needs more meat on his bones I say we let Uraume work the kitchen as usual,” Sukuna slammed his fist on the table and you tilted your head giving him a look, “Lady y-NO” you held a hand up to Uraume smiling at him, “we’re going to fix this NOW.” You looked back at your husband, “you wanna eat what you wanna eat? Fine- but if that’s the case I’m taking Yuji to eat at his favorite noodle shop with or without you.” Slamming your own hand on the table it shook everything on the table. You and Sukuna dead set on one another, Uraume became nervous. Sukuna caught a quick glimpse of pink out the corner of his eye. Before he made a displeased face, “Fine, make what she tells you Uraume.” You smiled nodding, “Thank you.” You both watched as Sukuna left grumbling about it being his house why’s his wife bossing him around, Yuji still stood in the kitchen door smiling when his dad winked at him ruffling his hair as he passed by. You turned to Uraume “Make Sukuna a special plate, I swear when he’s hungry at night that thing has mind of its own and would probably take a bite out of Yuji.”Referring to his stomachs mouth, Uraume nodded with a smile “Yes Lady Y/n.”
You turned away from him grabbing a basket to leave when you see Yuji, “Hey sweetie,” you reached your hand out for him and he took it, “Ready to go outside?” He shook his head, “can’t find my coat,” you nodded “let’s go find it then.” Making your way to Yuji’s room you found Sukuna waiting and holding Yuji’s winter coat. “Took you long enough woman.” Yuji let go of your hand rushing to his dad who helped him with his coat, “come with us daddy!” You smiled watching Yuji pull his dads hand and arm. If there was one thing you didn’t understand it was Yuji’s obsession with the snow. Even when his fingers would turn read, and his nose and cheeks were nipped with red, he’d persist he could stay out another hour to play. Maybe it was because while you carried him in your womb, and as a baby you’d sit outside keeping him swaddled and warm in the cool. Remembering your own grandmother did the same, watching your cousins sleep calm and peacefully for so long. Yuji did the same, maybe that’s why he was so drawn to the snow. “Mommy! Cmon!” He waved his hand at you, he was building a snowman with his dad. Walking over you set down the basket on bench you usually sat on in the spring with Yuji, in the afternoon he’d lay his head on your lap yawning listening to birds chirping away while the cherry blossoms gave their last blooms. Falling asleep while you sat there rubbing his back and brushing your hand through his hair.
Your thoughts were interrupted by the bump you felt on your back. Turning around you saw Yuji getting a face full of snow “That’s my wife brat.” Yuji who was now laying in the snow sat up with snow ball “that’s my face!” Before smacking his dad with a snow ball. You couldn’t fight the smile watching them fight, laughing too hard when Sukuna was using one pair of arms to mass produce snow balls and the other to throw them. Yuji finally cried and ran over to hide behind you, “HELP MEEEE” at that point you were laughing hard and felt bad for not being to console your son, “i-I’m sorry-“ another wave of laughs, “Baby” he pouted crossing his arms while you took a deep breath, “You should’ve seen it, sweetie I’m sorry.” Ruffling his hair he still pouted looking at his dad who stood there proud, bare chest puffed out snow balls still in hand. “M cold.” You cleared the snow off the bench, “here I packed these for when you did get cold.” Turning to Sukuna he walked over snowball in hands as he dropped one on Yuji’s head, Yuji just shook his head clean sending snow everywhere. “Here,” you pulled out a smaller basket full of steamed milk buns for Yuji. Pulling out a second basket you offered them to Sukuna, “These were specifically made for you.” He grabbing one eating it in one bite, “it’s good, wouldn’t expect less from Uraume.” You grinned, “I made those.” Sukuna pulled you into his side by the waist, kissing your temple, “In that case they could be better,” he grinned down at you his eyes crinkling when you swatted his chest. Catching your hand against his chest he leaned down pressing his lips against the back of your hand, “They’re perfect don’t worry.” Smiling you pulled your hand free brushing his tussled slicked hair back as he hummed.
“ew,” Yuji’s voice broke the silence you your husband shared before Sukuna snatched his milk bun away, “whaddya mean ew?” He took a bite of the milk bun. “ew you and mommy!” He snatched another milk bun eating it and turning away when his dad tried to reach for it again. “Sit,” Yuji patted the spot next to him, Sukuna sat down spreading his legs out and pulling you to sit between himself and Yuji. Soon you all finished snacking, before Yuji begged to make a snow family. There you were, finding’s rocks and branches. Sukuna stacking the snow balls while Yuji tried to roll them. Sukuna’s Smow man was massive with Four stick arms and four rock eyes. Your snow lady had two arms and two eyes just shorter than Sukuna’s, and Yuji’s 🥹 Yuji’s snow man was built to his height which was still notably smaller than yours and Sukuna’s but the way he looked so proud rolling it to stand between the two bigger ones, he put a big smile on it, angling the arms up before he took an arm off of the others ones re stabbing them in from below, “Now they can hold hands.” You looked your husband who made a choking sounds before clearing his throat looking away using a hand to cover the liver half of his face. You rubbed your hand on his bare back and he looked at you. The soft smile you gave him was reassuring when he walked to stand behind your son. You watched as he hesitated before placing a hand on Yuji’s head pulling him into his side and rubbing his head, Yuji stayed leaning against his dad, before he looked back, waving his hand for you to get closer. Yuji looked up at his dad who picked him up, “alright, come here brat.” Standing beside Ryomen he wrapped his arms around your shoulders and waist, Yuji held on his other side. You turned hugging his waist. Staying like this until the snow started to fall and Yuji wiggled out of his dads grip.
Sitting on the same bench you stayed close to Sukuna, he hadn’t let you go after feeling how cold your hands were. “Ryomen…” his eyes were trained on his son when you looked up at him. He grunted in response, before clearing his throat. “y/n…” the silence hanging in the air. “I love you.” He never looked away from Yuji, before he turned to look down at you, bringing a free hand to your chin he angled your face up leaning in close, “Is that what you want me to say?” A grin broke out on his face when you blinked, he closed the gap and kissed you. Pulling away he angled your chin up and he kissed your neck nipping the skin, “I love you y/n.” It didn’t take long for Yuji to wear himself out when he came to crawl into your lap leaning back against your chest watching the snow fall. Soon he fell asleep across your lap, your head resting on Ryomen who laid his head over yours. His hand running up and down your back in a comforting manner, Yuji’s soft breaths. The falling snow and setting sun. “Happy Birthday Yuji.” You mumbled brushing his hair out his face, Sukuna smiled down at his sleeping son, “Happy Birthday brat.”

you were just a normal college girl living a kinda normal life at home with her father and his new wife. you had pretty good grades but didn’t have a lot of friends so you usually spent most of the time alone. it was always a relief to come home to your room and crash down on your bed.
you had fallen asleep as soon as you came home and woke up two hours later by a gentle knock on the door and your dad telling you to come down for dinner. you rubbed your eyes and stretched out your body before you sat up and did a fast check on your phone, your dad had tried to call you several times and sent a text message telling you to put on some nice clothes and then he had a surprise waiting for you. you furrowed your eyebrows wondering what it could possibly be. well maybe you should get your ass up and put on some clothes. as always you opened your wardrobe and just stared for a couple minutes because you never had anything to wear. after a while you remembered you got a new black skirt and your paired it together with a black top and some silver accessories. you took one last look in the mirror before you headed downstairs. you were met by your dad, his wife ofc and a guy.. you felt your heart drop down to your stomach. “there you are y/n! we’ve been waiting for you sweetheart” your dad greeted you. the tall blonde guy in your hallway gave you a little smile which made your cheeks blush. “this is Mingi, my son” your stepmother said patting him on the back. “you’ve never met each other yet so we thought it was time” your dad looked at you with a big smile on his face. you gave Mingi a shy smile and went into the dining room along with the others.
your parents talked the most of the time while you and Mingi were quiet, you could feel his gaze on you and it gave you butterflies. your dad never told you his new wife had a son so this felt so strange somehow. Mingi were one and a half year older than you and you would lie to yourself if you said he wasn’t cute cause omg. “Mingi’s gonna move in with us” you almost choked on your water when you heard what your dad just blurted out. “t-that’s great” was all you could say. you felt your cheeks getting hotter and the butterflies went crazy now. you’ve only known about your so called stepbrother for an hour and had now become a blushing mess.
after dinner your parents went into the living room to watch some late night tv and Mingi went to grab some of his stuff. you had went back to your room trying to take in the new information and you seriously didn’t know what to think. you were sure things would get easier when you got used to all this but right now it felt like your whole life had changed. you could hear someone walking up the stairs and you knew exactly who. it was Mingi and he went by your room and into the room across yours to unpack. he raised one eyebrow at you before he disappeared. gosh isn’t he dreamy you thought to yourself. you decided to remove your makeup and change into your sleepwear before heading to bed, you couldn’t stop thinking about him and it bothered you like crazy.
the next day you woke up around 1pm and you’d got a message from your dad. they had went to some friends and would be back in a few hours. you put the phone down on your nightstand and went to the bathroom to wash up. when you got downstairs you heard a deep voice from the kitchen. “morning” you almost jumped a bit cause you had completely forgotten that you weren’t alone anymore. Mingi sat at the kitchen island eating a bowl of cereal, he’d just woken up too. “good morning” you said a smile forming on your face. there was some awkward silence for a bit, you sat yourself at the opposite side of kitchen island facing Mingi while you ate your breakfast. yet again you could feel him watching you and your heart skipped a beat. “sooo.. y/n huh? that’s a pretty name” his deep morning voice vibrating right through you. “well, thank you” you blushed. “doing anything today?” he asked as he gave you a little smile. dang that smile could make you melt like a popsicle. “nothing special, I guess I’ll watch some tv” you replied while putting your dishes away. Mingi couldn’t help but sneak a peek down to your ass that was covered up by a pair of very short sleeping shorts, your ass cheeks falling out of them.
you put on your favourite show and made yourself comfortable on the couch. Mingi decided to join you cause he didn’t have anything better to do and that would be a good excuse to be with you more. you were watching an adult romance series on Netflix, you loved those kinds cause it always gave you butterflies. Mingi was sitting beside you and he was on his phone almost the whole time. you felt yourself heat up when a hot scene came up on the screen. you tried to keep yourself calm but you couldn’t help but press your thighs together a little. a loud moan came from the tv and caught Mingis attention. “what the..?” was the only thing he said. he turned to you and couldn’t help but notice your state. cheeks flushed, thighs pressed together and bottom lip between your teeth. a smirk formed on his lips looking down at your thighs. “you like this show huh?” he whispered into your ear. you pressed your thighs harder turning to face him. he placed a hand on your thigh giving it a light squeeze earning a little whine from you. his hand travelled to the place you needed him the most, he began to rub small circles on your clothed clit. your eyes shut tight at the sensational feeling. your wetness were leaking through your grey sleeping shorts, Mingi licked his lips at the sight. “damn so wet already” he chuckled. you bucked your hips onto his hand to get some friction. he pulled his hand away and you whined at the loss of contact. “I think we should continue upstairs since our parents could come home anytime” he said taking your hand and dragging you upstairs.
when you got into your room and locked the door you pushed him down on your bed climbing on top of him. you smashed your lips onto his, you opened your mouth welcoming his tongue inside. his hands grabbed your ass cheeks giving them a hard squeeze making you moan into his mouth. you started to place kisses down his neck then lifting up his shirt to place more kisses onto his torso. his low groans made you clench onto nothing. Mingi watched as you went further down to the waistband of his pyjama pants, you brushed your hand over his bulge earning a moan from him. you pulled down his pants revealing his big cock leaking precum at the tip. your eyes widened seeing how big he was. he smirked at your reaction. you didn’t waste any time and got down on him starting to lick up and down his length before putting him into your mouth. the tip hit the back of your throat making you gag, he brushed your hair away from your face. “fuck, just like that” he threw his head back into the pillow. you used your hand at the base of his cock while licking the tip. Mingi fought the urge to fuck up right into your mouth at the feeling. you could feel his dick twitching in your hand so you stroked him faster and put him into your mouth. he let out a cracked moan as you felt him release down your throat. you went up to his face to kiss him letting him taste himself.
he pulled down your shorts and dragged his fingers up and down your folds collecting your juices, never breaking the kiss. he pulled out his fingers and rolled you over onto your back placing himself between your legs. his tip teasing your aching hole. “pls Mingi..” you whined. “so needy darling” he finally pushed himself inside slowly to give you time to adjust. you could literally feel your eyes roll back into your head. you arched your back letting out a long moan, you’d never felt anything like this before. as he began to thrust faster and deeper into you your moans started to sound like something from a porn movie. you put your hand over your mouth to keep quiet cause you wouldn’t want to take the risk of your dad hearing his daughter being fucked by her stepbrother.
Mingi watched as his cock went in and out of your wet pussy. he pushed down his hand on your lower abdomen feeling how deep he was in you. he hit your g spot over and over again and you could feel yourself clench around his cock and a knot building up in your lower belly. Mingi sped up his pace feeling how close he was too. “damn…fuck” he threw his head back, his big adams apple bulging out as you felt him paint your walls white. not long after your knot loosened and you milked all over his dick. he leaned down to give you a kiss, cock still inside you.
“guys we’re home! and we got takeout with us!”
shit!
“we better get down there before they suspect anything” you said smiling. Mingi pulled out grabbing a towel to get you cleaned up. “since we can’t date I guess we’ll continue to fuck instead” he said with a playful smirk on his face. you just rolled your eyes at his comment. you both put on some clothes and went downstairs.
“what have you two been up to today?” your stepmom asked. you felt yourself blushing yet again. “we’ve been talking and got to know each other a little better” you said looking at Mingi. “well that’s great! I hope you’ll get close soon” she said proudly.
oh if she only knew.

it's nice to have a friend
author's note: this is a little all over the place, but i saw a tiktok edit of seven by taylor swfit and then thought to myself, what if i ignore all my wips and wrote childhood friends to lovers with a hint of childhood trauma? and this was born. and if the timeline isn't perfect with reality, oh well. i'm but a human girl. also!! if you have ever experienced or currently experiencing abuse, please know that it was never your fault. you don't deserve to be treated that way.
pairing: mat barzal x reader
summary: wherever mat went, you were never too far behind or the one where you are childhood besties
warnings: cursing (as always), mentions of parental abuse and alcholism, tumultuous childhood, drinking, mentions of sex
Tumblr media
there was a saying that floated around in your elementary, middle, and high school days, surrounding you like a warm oversized cardigan.
wherever mat went, you were never too far behind.
the saying could also be flipped, the two of you stuck to each other like glue.
mat, despite not being one for fights, had a bad habit of running his mouth whenever you were concerned. in fourth grade, he used newly learned vocabulary words to berate a girl who made fun of your beat up shoes and nearly got detention for it.
and you had a nasty habit of squaring up with anyone who looked at mat wrong, even if they towered over you.
your friendship worked well because of it.
age eight
you could remember summer days swimming in the pool with mat and liana, laughing as you and mat teamed up against his little sister until his mother scolded the two of you when she started crying.
but there was always a darkness that sat in the corners of your memories like fingerprints that had damaged an old photograph.
you didn't have to try to remember your parents' screaming and yelling at each other, just like you didn't have to try to recall the smell of alcohol on your father's breath. it didn't take any effort to remember the way your hands shook when you locked your room at night and climbed out of a second story window to go to mat's.
you could feel the splinters digging into your fingertips as you climbed the trellis up to his window. you could still feel the way your stomach dropped when you slipped and fell halfway up in the pouring rain, nearly breaking your arm in the process. you could still hear nadia come out and usher you inside moments before mat's eight year old feet came pattering down the stairs.
he didn't even give you time to explain, he just wrapped you up in a hug.
it took you that long to understand it was never raining, it was just tears.
the next week, you found yourselves at the park laying on your backs in the grass.
"what would you do if a genie gave you one wish?" mat asked out of the blue.
the summer sun kept you warm as the breeze kept sweeping in and blowing strands of hair into your face.
"get far away from here."
"would you bring me?" mat asked.
you turned your head to look at him only to find him already staring. "i wouldn't go anywhere without you." and you meant every word, spoke them with as much conviction as an eight year old could have.
mat reached out and squeezed your hand in his own.
"what would you wish for?"
he shrugged. "to be bigger."
you furrowed your brow. "why bigger?"
"so i could protect you better."
age nine
at nine, you and mat were playing cards in your room when the front door slammed. it was like you were on autopilot. of all the times that had happened, mat was never home with you. immediately, you were locking your door and shoving things in your backpack, pulling mat towards the window and climbing out as quickly as you could. the two of you ran to your bikes and biked all the way to an empty field where you collapsed in the tall grass and cried.
mat immediately brought you into his arms, hushing you and running his hand down your braids.
"what if--" he started stopped abruptly to clear his throat. "what if you stayed with me and liana and mom and dad? we could get bunk beds and a night light, if you want, and you wouldn't have to lock the door."
you just sobbed harder into his chest and shook your head.
it's not that simple, you wanted to tell him. but i wish it was.
age thirteen
you never moved in with mat, never got to get the bunk beds, but by middle school, your mom moved the two of you out of your old house. it was then that he started packing two lunches, one for you and another for himself.
things hadn't changed much since leaving your dad in that shitty house full of demons. you still spent most of your time at mat's house (your mom was working). still spent your saturdays going to his tournaments and games. you still cheered him on and let him cheat off your homework on sunday nights.
things shifted though, regardless if you wanted them to change or not. time, you found, never gave a shit about your opinion, thoughts, or desires.
because it felt like just yesterday, you were riding your bikes down the street, racing each other back home.
now, you were helping mat draft msn messages to a girl he had a crush on in your biology class. there was an uncomfortable sensation in your stomach that was comparable to the time you got food poisoning, but you couldn't place a reason for it.
you could paint the pink on his cheeks as the girl replied.
and you would've given anything to be the reason for it.
maybe it was silly, a small crush for the sheer convenience of it all. maybe it was the fact that he'd saved you so many times from the darkness that always seemed to follow you. maybe it was because he was a tether for you, pulling you back when you went too far in your head.
so when he laughed at something she said (which wasn't even really funny), you wanted to go back to the times the two of you would cloud gaze in the middle of the day just so you wouldn't have to be home.
age fifteen
you knew mat was a kind person, knew he was handsome and a good hockey player, that was never in question.
you just didn't realize other girls realized it too.
mat always walked in front of you in the hallways because he could make way through the crowds in ways you couldn't. (he grew like a weed over the summer and while you hated how you couldn't reach things when he held them above his head, you appreciated the way crowds moved out of the way for him).
you were used to him being in front, his grip light on your wrist as he tugged you behind him. you weren't used to walking behind his new girlfriend, chloe, who had the honor of walking beside him.
mat used to tell you how much it irritated him that people would take up so much space in the hallway and make it impossible to move around them.
but there you were, an awkward moving triangle of your best friend, his girlfriend, and you trailing pathetically behind.
chloe was cool. she never felt threatened by your friendship with mat, which might've hurt your feelings if you were delusional. you knew you had no chance with mat, so you'd take him in whatever form you could get him.
lately, that looked like spending time with liana in the stands at mat's tournaments. you would both do your homework before dissolving into gossip sessions while you braided her hair.
chloe even showed up for some games, smiling and cheering as he played. at one game, he scored and came up and tapped the glass in front of you, pointing at you and smiling.
they broke up two weeks later.
age sixteen
you openly cried when mat left for seattle. you were used to times when mat had hockey camps and would be gone for two weeks, a month at a time. but he would be gone indefinitely now.
and leading up to the day he was leaving, you thought it would be harder on you, considering mat hadn't shown anything but excitement. but when it came time for him to leave, he wouldn't let you go.
both of your moms had to pry you apart with promises that he would call and text as soon as he got to seattle.
and he did.
he hadn't even gotten into his new home when he was facetiming you.
you did your best to smile as he showed you around his new place, but your eyes were watering still. he was indefinitely two and a half hours away from you.
"you okay?" he asked when you stopped responding.
you gave him your best smile, but knew he wouldn't buy it. "just miss you is all."
he nodded, eyes going blank for a second before you saw water appear in them. mat wasn't as emotional as you were, and he for sure wasn't as teary eyed as he used to be when you still lived with your dad, but his eyes were watering all the same. "let's just treat it like summer camp," he said. "i'll be back before you know it, and if you need something, you can always call me."
you had no intentions of calling him with your problems, but then your dad showed up at your house screaming and beating the door and calling for your mother while she was at work. the doors were locked, he had no way in, and the police were on the way, but your hands were still shaking.
you couldn't run to his house to hug him anymore.
so you called him sobbing.
he picked up on the second ring.
he was lounging in bed, playing call of duty or something like it. "hey--" he cut himself off and paused his game, jumping out of bed. "what's wrong?"
"my dad," you sobbed.
mat was back in coquitlam in three hours, holding you tight to his chest and rocking you back and forth. you were openly weeping into his shirt, clinging to him. you weren't gonna let him go, and mat wasn't willing to give you up either.
you and your mom spent the night at the barzal's, with her taking the guest room while nadia brought a twin mattress into mat's room under the pretense that you would sleep on it.
you didn't.
everyone knew that you got into mat's queen sized bed and clung to him all night long.
just like everyone pretended that mat wouldn't have to leave in two days to go back to seattle.
just like you pretended like you wouldn't absolutely shatter on impact the second he left your sight.
age nineteen
when mat was drafted to the islanders, you stopped breathing. sure, it was dramatic, but you only moved into vancouver for school.
mat was moving across the fucking continent.
but he came back to seattle, and for a moment, the world was right again.
until he went to new york full time.
and the full weight of his absence hit you like a damn eighteen wheeler.
you'd watch him on the tv, when you used to watch him live in much smaller stands. you used to use puff paint to make t-shirts with his name on it, now they were selling his jersey in the arena he played in.
he didn't pick up the phone as much as he used to. he would respond to your texts days later until you stopped texting him altogether.
you should've seen it coming, especially when you saw him hanging out with instagram models and going out to bars. were you really expecting him to sit at home and wait for you to call him with a panic attack?
you had to get a grip.
so you did.
you threw yourself into your studies, pretending you didn't know his game schedule or stats. and when a cute boy named thomas came along and took interest, you allowed him to get to know you better.
you told him you grew up in coquitlam, that you were an only child, and your favorite school subject growing up was english.
(you never told him that your favorite color was the shade of mat's eyes, that you haven't spoken to your dad since the night your mom left him, or that every night, you fall asleep to career highlights of the best friend you haven't spoken to in months).
you learned he was a business major, something that should've been a red flag, but you were so focused on proving to yourself that you could be loved, that you overlooked it.
you went on dates, had sex, made plans for the future, met each other's families.
but he never met the barzals, despite the fact that you could drive to their house blindfolded.
no, they felt like a precious secret. the world could have number 13, they could have the calder memorial trophy winner, but you would not allow them to have the little sister whose hair you braided, the mother who brought you inside after you wrecked her trellis, the father who covered your scraped knees with bandaids and neosporin when your biological one was drunk at 2pm.
you might have lost mat to the awful curse called distance, but you would not lose his family.
you couldn't afford to lose them too.
now thomas, you lost a month after you turned twenty when you found him balls deep in your freshman roommate.
you went back to your apartment and cried, because it hurt, but mainly because you realized how alone you were. you had no one to call other than your mom or liana. but liana didn't even know about thomas, and your mom was dating a new guy now.
your thumb hovered over mat's contact for five minutes before you locked your phone and just went to bed.
age twenty-three
you were single for a whole year before you met dawson. his brown eyes and salt and pepper hair captivated you.
you were hooked, despite the seven year age gap.
he gave you the number to a good psychologist to help you work through your past and was willing to listen to you talk about it or sit in silence when your therapy session was emotionally exhausting.
he remembered your favorite flowers and brought a bouquet of them to your college graduation and kissed you in front of your mom and the barzals (minus mat, but that was a given at that point).
and on your twenty-third birthday, he proposed.
you said yes while actively trying to forget the dreams you and mat had when you were six.
you were building a fort in his bedroom with thumbtacks and blankets and sheets you'd stolen from around his house. when the project was complete, the two of you found yourselves laying in it, staring up at the blanket canopy shoddily held up by thumbtacks pushed into the wall.
"do you wanna get married?" mat had asked randomly.
"only if i get to marry you," you replied.
mat smiled a toothy grin, it was the only time you remembered him having imperfect teeth, given that he'd just lost his two front teeth. "i thought the same thing!"
and it was the most honest you had ever been. though, that wasn't a strange concept, most people were the most honest when they were either children or drunk. and considering you stayed far away from alcohol (guided by the anxiety in your stomach and the advice of your therapist), your childhood memories held the most truth.
despite not having seen him in years, you still thought of him often. you tried to see if you could remember the sound of his laugh without looking up an interview. you tried to recall the way his hair felt through your fingers.
but you couldn't.
it was crazy how much he meant to you as a child, how you still remembered the order in which he ate his breakfast, but you hadn't spoken to him in years.
you found yourself sobbing at the kitchen table one night as you poured over who to invite to the wedding. liana was a bridesmaid, mike and nadia had to be invited.
but what about mat?
you felt sick to your stomach at not inviting him. when you were in high school, when you'd gotten a grip on reality, you believed he'd walk you down the aisle in lieu of your piece of shit father.
but you hadn't spoken to him in so long.
though you couldn't imagine which would suck worse, not inviting him, or mat rejecting the invitation.
that was how dawson found you, sobbing over photos from your childhood that you wouldn't let him see. and when you tried to talk to him about it, he suggested talking to your therapist.
he broke off the engagement two weeks later. he said he didn't feel "the spark" anymore.
age twenty-four
you'd been out of college for two years now and all you had to show for it was debt and a stupid piece of paper. you were working in a coffee shop ten minutes from your mom's house and wishing you could've gotten out of coquitlam like mat did.
maybe this was your cursed existence, going to the grocery store wondering if you were going to ever run into your father again.
you'd just gotten off your shift at the coffee shop when you stopped by your local grocery store to pick some things up for dinner. it was supposed to be a normal day, but you turned the corner out of an aisle and damn near ran into someone.
"sorry, my bad--"
you looked up and suddenly the earth stopped in its rotation. you hadn't seen in him years but you'd know him blind.
his hands were around your elbows, keeping you upright. his touch almost burned you. it was an uncomfortable feeling, like putting on jeans you loved and realizing they don't fit anymore.
you pulled away, ducked your head, and started walking the opposite direction without another word.
but you should've known he would follow you, like a moth to a flame. or maybe that wasn't the right analogy, you were used to being the bug while mat was the light of your life.
but he followed you like there was a string attached to your wrists and he wasn't used to you pulling in an opposite direction.
he managed to catch up to you in the self care aisle right in front of the menstrual products. any other man you'd known would've shied away from standing in front of the tampons and pads as you deliberated which products to get, but mat's eyes wouldn't even leave your face.
you should've known he was going to come back eventually. you'd avoided seeing him in the offseason pretty well considering you were off doing internships and working out of town in the summer.
but now you were stuck in a dead end job with no passion for anything anymore, feeling more alone than you had ever felt before.
and because nature or god or the universe hated you, naturally, that was when mat showed back up.
when you had nothing to show for the years you didn't speak.
you could see the wheels turning in mat's head as he tried to think of something to say. it was an interesting turn of events that simultaneously sent an ache straight through your heart. when you were kids, he never hesitated to say exactly what was on his mind. now, he was deliberating.
"you wanna come over for dinner?" he asked. "mom's making tomato soup and grilled cheese."
you wished you could've denied him, it would've been smarter in the long run. mathew michael paul barzal could get you to do anything, and you hated that even after all those years, he still could.
you found yourself sitting at his old kitchen table surrounded by his family, dipping your grilled cheese into the soup like you were six years old again.
except the difference now was you were laughing with liana, sitting next to liana, instead of mat.
you'd occasionally meet his eyes from across the table, but it wasn't the same.
when you were kids, you sat next to each other at every opportunity. when you were kids, mat pretended to steal food off your plate. when you were kids, you knew everything about each other.
but you were adults now. and he was effectively a stranger you knew too much about.
after dinner, everyone scattered. you tried to leave, but mat caught up with you.
"what're you doing tomorrow?" he asked.
"working," you replied.
he nodded and looked around. "can i see you?"
you wanted so badly to say no, that you were busy, but as much as you wanted to pretend that he didn't, mat knew you better than anyone else, even if he had been absent for five years.
you ended up going for a walk in the park the next day, deciding that getting dinner wasn't worth the headache of mat getting recognized.
his hands were shoved in his pockets with a baseball cap pulled down low over his face. if you were brave enough to look over, you could still see his eyes taking glances at you.
"how's your mom?" mat asked, immediately jumping into topics you'd planned on ignoring.
you shrugged. "fine."
he nodded and scuffed his feet along the sidewalk. "how have you been?"
"fine." you sighed and pinched the bridge of your nose. you didn't mean to be cold, you meant it even less when you looked over and saw mat desperate for connection with you again.
in the end, you could never really deny him anything he wanted.
"life sucks right now," you admitted. "feel like i've wasted my life away here."
mat nodded along. "didn't you say your genie wish would be to leave?"
"i think my words were to 'get far away from here.'"
"you know," he started. "new york is far from here."
you couldn't help yourself. you looked up at him and saw the beginnings of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "are you being serious?"
he nodded. "as a heart attack."
could this be the moment? the moment your life suddenly comes back into color? things haven't felt right since mat left for new york, and maybe moving, being with him all the time, would fix whatever existential crisis you were currently having.
the two of you were packing up your childhood room a month later .
you were on a flight to new york city two days after that.
mat was bouncing on his toes when he picked you up from the airport, having come home a few days early to get his apartment set up.
"you have to meet tito," he said as soon as the both of you got in his car. "you'll get along just fine. my childhood best friend meeting my other best friend? things couldn't be more perfect!"
you smiled though you felt like dying inside. no wonder you two lost touch, you were too ashamed to message him and he was too busy befriending his entire hockey team.
the apartment itself was large. larger than you could've ever afforded, even in coquitlam. mat brought your bags to your room and gently placed them on the floor.
"do you need any help unpacking?" he asked.
maybe a bitter part of you wanted to say no, but you'd waited for this moment for years. you nodded and mat's face lit up like a christmas tree.
while he was putting your clothes away in the dresser, he told you about his team, about his career, and all that you missed. he tried to ask about your life, but you kept up the story that nothing much had happened to you. and for the most part, you weren't lying.
you hadn't spoken to your dad, you hadn't dated anyone seriously in the last year (you conveniently left out the failed engagement. you just got into town, and couldn't afford a plane ticket to fly back to coquitlam just to bail mat out of jail).
but mat was more than content to listen to your work stories from when you were working at the coffee shop. he asked questions along the way, and momentarily, it felt like everything was headed back to normal.
you shooed him out of the room so you could shower. it was kinda incredible how a nice apartment meant that his shower was better than any other one you'd ever had growing up. when you stepped out into the nicely updated bathroom and changed into some gym shorts and a t-shirt, you felt the full weight of your insecurities hit you all at once.
your mat lived down the road from you. he had a twin bed until he was fifteen when his mom could no longer ignore the way his ankles hung off the end. he had posters of sidney crosby hanging up on the walls of his bedroom.
but this mat had expensive bathrooms and egyptian cotton sheets. you didn't get to see it yet, but you were willing to bet he had state of the art kitchen appliances that he didn't fully understand how to use outside of making eggs.
you were fully ready to walk into the living room, where you heard mat clicking through what must've been streaming services (because he could afford all of them), and tell him moving here was a mistake. too much had changed, he didn't know you anymore.
but you walked out and saw blankets and sheets strung up, pinned to the walls with pillows on the floor.
almost on cue, mat's head popped out from the makeshift fort, a bright smile on his face. "i don't have bunk beds, but i thought this would be a nice alternative."
you could've cried. you almost did.
but you sat down on a pillow and watched a movie with him instead.
two months later
mat had introduced you to anthony the second week you lived in new york. anders and matt you met the next week. the rest of the team you met over the course of the two months you'd lived with mat so far. they were all nice, and you could see why mat was so enthusiastic about his job, his passion for the sport aside.
you met his "not-girlfriend" as tito called her the day before. ashley was nice enough, but clearly not in the same tax bracket as you, who had recently gotten a job working at an indie bookstore while you worked on grad school applications.
you pretended to be too busy to notice the ache in your chest when he held her hand, remembering chloe and the nasty sensation internally of insecurity bubble up. you weren't dumb enough to not know you were jealous, insecurity was a closer friend than mat was, you'd known her longer.
and if comparison was a sport, you'd be making more money than he was at this rate.
because if it wasn't the way ashley laughed, it was her smile, or her stomach, or the gap between her thighs.
or the fact that mat looked at her with something more than a savior complex.
you stupidly agreed to go out to a bar with him, ashley, and a few islanders that night. it was dumb, you knew that going in, but you were finally with mat again, why wouldn't you spend every free moment with him?
it turned out to be a mistake.
you were left sipping a diet coke by your lonesome while he was dancing with ashley. you knew you shouldn't have done it, it was a bad idea, but you found yourself at the bar asking for a shot of literally anything the bartender would give you.
but anthony slid into the seat next to you a beat later and fixed you with a knowing look. "where's your diet coke?" he asked.
your mouth dried up when the shot was placed in front of you. your heart was pounding and for a moment, it felt like you could've thrown up.
when you didn't respond, anthony nodded and stood up. "wanna go take a breather?" and he sounded so genuine that your eyes immediately welled up with tears as you nodded.
the two of you walked outside and stood in the cool air, letting the wind hit your wet cheeks.
you looked out onto the street while anthony texted on his phone. "do you want to go home?" he asked as soon as he slipped his cellphone back into his pocket.
you shrugged. "i don't know what i want."
that was a lie. you wanted to go back to a time where mat was just your best friend, before he was number 13 for the islanders, before he won the calder memorial trophy. you wanted your best friend, the one who raced you down the neighborhood streets on bikes, who drove three hours to see you when you had a panic attack.
you wanted a childhood that wasn't tainted with the darkness of your father's mistakes. you wanted to be able to go into a room and not immediately check if you could lock the door. you wanted to be able to fall asleep in a dark room without being deathly afraid.
mat was outside a second later, huffing and puffing like he'd just run a mile. his gaze was fixed on you almost immediately, while he ignored the way ashley hung off of him. "what's wrong?" he asked. he even went as far as to pry ashley off of his body so he could frame your face in his large hands.
in the corner of you eye, you saw anthony usher ashley back inside while you and mat had a staring contest. "what happened?"
you shook your head and tried to speak, but more tears spilled out. mat nodded and pursed his lips before grabbing your hand and walking you home.
he didn't say anything else until the front door shut behind you. you had no intentions of staying in the common area, you just wanted to curl up in bed and cry yourself to sleep out of shame and pity.
"what were you doing at the bar?" mat asked before you could go anywhere. "you still had diet coke in your glass."
your throat seized up at feeling caught, but you stood your ground.
"i didn't think you drank," he continued. "mainly because--"
"because my dad's an abusive alcholic? yeah, you don't need to tell me that, mat, i already know."
"so if you know that, why did tito see you order a shot from the bartender?"
you threw your hands up in the air and shrugged. "i don't know, mathew. why do you invite me to bars when you know i don't drink?" he didn't have an answer. "you don't get to shame me for considering having a drink when a bar is the only place i get to hang out with you during the season!"
"that's not--" but he cut himself off. "what're you talking about?"
"i hardly see you! why did i move across the continent if i have to go to a scary place just to spend time with you?"
"i--"
"i mean it's not fair, you left and now i have to pay the consequences of it--"
"i'm sorry, what?"
"you left--"
"i heard you. did you forget the part where you stopped contacting me?" you rolled your eyes to keep yourself from crying even more. "uh uh, don't do that. don't blame me without taking accountability for this friendship ending."
you blinked.
but mat wasn't done. "because i always called you back when i missed your calls. you were the one who stopped texting me."
"you were too busy!"
"i'm in the nhl! did you expect me to just be laying around my apartment all day? i have practices and meetings and games at weird times, but i always made sure to get back to you."
you said nothing, the tears welling up behind your eyes, but you kept them in. the verbal lashing from mat was enough, you didn't need to further embarrass yourself by crying too.
he kept going, yelling and waving his hands around, occasionally pacing and dragging his fingers through his unruly hair.
but you zoned out.
you could hear glass bottles rattling as your father came up the stairs. you sat on your bed, hoping to god he'd just keep walking. mat was out of town for a tournament, and you were grounded.
your dad stopped at the top of the stairs and looked at you. your heart was racing in your chest and you wanted nothing more than to text mat, but your mom had your phone. "what're you lookin' at?" he slurred.
it was only 1pm.
and your mom was still at work.
but he apparently didn't feel like bothering you because he turned into his bedroom and shut the door.
you could feel the air release from your lungs before you went back to reading your book.
but the peace never lasted long. thirty minutes later you could hear him yelling and screaming obscenities before he opened his door. you launched yourself out of bed and slammed your own door shut, quickly locking it with an efficiency you'd learned at a young age. the door handle rattled and you flinched backwards, nearly tripping over clothes on the floor.
but you weren't a stranger to this situation.
you opened the window and climbed out.
but he was ready for you this time because he was at the front door screaming at you as you rode away on your bike.
you didn't stop pedaling until you got to the park where you collapsed on the grass and cried.
something in your face must've changed, because mat stopped yelling and looked at you, really looked at you.
"hey," he said, voice much quieter than before. "where'd you go?"
you shook your head, tears falling down your face uncontrollably.
"don't do that," he said. "don't shut me out." mat took a step closer to you, but you immediately stepped backwards. he breathed your name, but something in his eyes shifted, like he could read your mind. "i'm not him," he whispered. "i'm not your dad, i'm not going to hurt you. you know me, you know i wouldn't do that."
"you left," was all you could say.
mat nodded. "i did, but i didn't leave you, okay? i would never leave you." he closed the distance between you and held your face in his hands, his thumbs wiping away the constant flow of water from the corners of your eyes.
"but--"
he shook his head. "no, you mean too much to me to leave you, okay? you're my best friend. if you had called me and needed me? i would've been there as soon as i could."
"you would've been too busy--"
he pulled back, a bit bewildered. "when have i ever been too busy for you?"
you held your tongue, knowing that it wasn't him per se.
"what is it?" he asked, his eyes searching your own. "what aren't you telling me?"
so you told him about how you hadn't talked to your dad, and even though you were thousands of miles away, you were still scared he'd find you and ruin your life even more. you told him about thomas, about how you thought he could be the thing that fixed you, but he cheated on you.
you told him about dawson, who was older and more mature. you told mat how dawson got you going to therapy which you thought was a good sign, until you realized he never actually wanted to talk about your bad days. he proposed, you said yes, and then he broke off the engagement when he saw you sobbing over invitations.
your eyes were too blurry to see the way mat's jaw clenched, but you could feel him pull his hands away.before you could even stop yourself, you stretched out for him, but he was just out of reach.
"mat, what," you weeped. "what's wrong?"
"you were engaged?" he mumbled. "you were engaged and didn't tell me?" you expected him to look mad, but the only thing reflected in those deep brown eyes was hurt.
"that's why he broke up with me, i was crying over childhood photos while trying to figure out if i should invite you even when we hadn't talked in years." you shrugged pathetically and gave mat a watery smile. "guess he thought it was too immature of me."
mat's hands were clenching and unclenching by his side, like he couldn't decide what he wanted to do with them.
"please don't hate me," you whispered. "i don't think i could handle it if you hated me." but he didn't say anything, mat just resulted to pacing the living room. "i think my dad fucked me up beyond repair." your eyes never left his profile. if he wouldn't look at you, that was fine, you'd continue to stare at him. "i think i'm too codependent and messed up for anyone to love me." mat's head snapped up at that comment.
"i mean," you continued. "i wasn't enough for my dad to get sober, i wasn't enough to not get cheated on, i wasn't enough for someone to marry me. maybe it's not them. maybe i'm the issue."
"no," he said immediately, shaking his head in the process, crossing the room until he could pull you into his chest. "no. that's not true."
"yes it is! my dad doesn't love anything more than alcohol--"
mat cut you off. "anyone would've been proud to have you as a daughter."
"thomas wanted my freshman roommate--"
"thomas was an idiot."
"dawson couldn't handle me when i wasn't happy--"
"fuck him too. he was thirty dating a college student."
"and you left and i--"
mat pulled you back far enough to look you in the face. "and if i could do it all over again, i'd take you with me." he pressed his forehead against yours. "here's what we're gonna do, we're gonna make a fort and watch the mighty ducks. and tomorrow, we're gonna find you the best therapist money can buy and set up an appointment because i don't like you talking about yourself this way." your stomach twisted at the idea of therapy, hesitant because of dawson-- "and i wanna hear as much as you're willing to tell me, okay?"
you nodded.
"now, i need to see you smile so i know we'll be alright." you gave him a watery smile right before he pressed a kiss to the top of your head. "there she is."
you held onto each other for another minute before reluctantly letting go to gather blankets and pillows.
four months later
you hadn't been able to make it to many of mat's games until tonight when they played the devils at home. you sat with sydney and grace and their kids.
earlier that night, you'd gone to your therapy session and cried your eyes out. after years of feeling like you weren't a human being worthy of love, you just started seeing value in just existing.
and mat was as supportive as ever. he gave you space after therapy sessions to process until you were ready to talk to him, if you wanted to. the two of you made plans to hang out at cafes and central park rather than at bars every weekend.
"look at your man go," grace nudged you with her elbow. "he's feeling good tonight."
"i'm sure it has everything to do with you being here," sydney commented. "i've never seen that man more in love than he is right now."
you could feel the heat crawl up your neck as you shook your head. "he's my best friend."
"a best friend who loves you so much, he's willing to keep things platonic for your sake."
almost immediately, an insecure thought popped in your head, but you stopped it in its tracks, imagining the thought on a conveyor belt, moving down the belt until it was out of sight completely.
your shoulders relaxed.
you deserved to be loved, and it if was mat, great.
if not, you'd still have him as your best friend.
a buzzer sounded through the arena and a quick glance at the ice told you all you needed to know. mat was skating into a cluster of his teammates, smiling wide before pointing up at where he knew you were sitting.
grace and sydney jostled you around a little while fans, male and female alike, screamed at the idea of the mat barzal pointing at them.
when the game ended (5-4 with the islanders win), you followed sydney and grace down to the locker rooms. you met up with the other wags and smiled when they greeted you. some chatted and passed time while others rocked babies in their arms. you however were anxiously looking through your photos on your phone, specifically the album labeled mat that you'd had since you'd first gotten an iphone. you didn't glance up until you hear the sound of doors opening.
mat was the seventh person out, not that you were counting. he wore a bright smile when he saw you standing there and immediately crossed the distance between the two of you to wrap you in a huge hug.
"how was therapy?" he asked.
you rolled your eyes but couldn't help but smile. "why do we always talk about me?"
"because i care." he lightly nudged your shoulder. "so how did it go?"
"it was good, actually," you remarked. "figured out and accepted that i deserve love."
if it was even possible, mat's smile got wider. "yeah you do."
"and maybe there are people waiting around for me to figure it out..." you trailed off before shyly meeting his gaze. and before you could stop yourself, before you ran out of courage, you stood on your tiptoes (like you've been doing since he hit his growth spurt in seventh grade) and pressed a kiss to the corner of his lips.
you lingered for a moment before pulling away and loooking up at your bewildered best friend whose mouth was wide open.
"what?" you asked. "did i read that wrong? sydney and grace said--"
"that's all i get?" he asked. "i've waited for this since i was six years old and i don't even get the real thing?"
you furrowed your brow. "what're you talking about? six years old?"
but mat was leaning in and capturing your lips with his own. "six year old mat had the biggest crush on six year old you," he said.
"and what about twenty-four year old mat?"
he kissed you again. "head over heels for you."
age twenty-six
after a less than stellar playoff run, you and mat headed back to canada for a portion of the off season, mainly to visit family.
but it was also nice to get out of new york, even if it was just for a short period.
in hindsight, you should've known something was going to happen. your mother, nadia, and liana took you to get your nails done and to grab lunch while you were out shopping. but you were so caught up in how nice it was to be back home (words you never thought you'd ever say), you paid no attention to the lack of mat time.
so when you walked into the backyard of his parents' house and saw a giant projector screen with blankets and pillows strewn about to make yet another fort, you almost cried.
mat's head popped out from the middle with a smile on his face until he saw the tears in your eyes. "why're you crying baby? this is supposed to be happy!"
"i love you" was all you could blubber out.
mat laughed to himself, taking your hands in his own. "i love you too baby." he knelt down and the tears kept coming down your face. "ever since i was a kid, i thought i'd be the one walking you down the aisle to the man you'd marry because i never thought you'd be crazy enough to fall in love with me."
you scoffed. "i'm definitely the one batting out of my league here, mathew."
"don't talk about the love of my life that way," he said before continuing on. "we've gone through a lot together, and i couldn't imagine getting through life without you by my side." mat took a deep breath. "so tell me, do you wanna get married?" mat asked.
you nodded through your weeping. "only if i get to marry you," you smiled.

Physics Class
Dad!Gojo x reader Genre: Fluff Synopsis: Gojo teaches physics to his child, and it doesn't go the way they want it to. Masterlist
It was a typical evening in the Gojo household, or so it seemed. Satoru Gojo was seated at the dining table with his teenage child and a pile of physics textbooks. His usual demeanor was replaced with a look of sheer desperation as he attempted to explain the intricacies of quantum mechanics.
"Okay, so imagine this," Gojo began, summoning his Infinity to illustrate his point. "You have a particle, and it can be in multiple places at once..."
Haru, stared blankly at his father, eyes glazed over with confusion. "But Dad, I still don't get it. How can something be in two places at the same time?"
Gojo rubbed his temples, mentally cursing the day he decided to take on the role of tutor. "Well, you see, it's like... umm... Hollow Purple!" With a flourish of his hand, he conjured the swirling vortex of energy, hoping it would somehow make the concept clearer.
Haru's expression didn't change. "It just looks like purple fog to me, Dad."
Gojo sighed dramatically. "This is harder than fighting curses," he muttered under his breath.
Suddenly, a light bulb seemed to go off in Gojo's head. "I know! Let's try a practical demonstration." Within seconds, he summoned a small rubber ball and a series of miniature black holes using his powers.
Haru's eyes widened in alarm. "Dad, are you sure this is safe?"
But before he could protest further, Gojo released the ball into the gravitational field of the black holes. Chaos ensued as the ball disappeared and reappeared in seemingly random locations.
"Dad, I think you just broke the laws of physics," Haru exclaimed, a mix of awe and terror in his voice.
Gojo chuckled nervously. "Well, umm... let's just say it's a... creative interpretation."
Despite the chaotic lesson, Haru couldn't help but smile at their father's antics. "Thanks, Dad. I still don't understand quantum mechanics, but at least I had fun trying."
Gojo grinned proudly, tousling his hair affectionately. "That's my kid. Now, let's tackle the next chapter: Kinetic Energy!"
As Gojo delved deeper into the world of teaching normal subjects, he realized that traditional methods simply weren't cutting it. So, he decided to incorporate his sorcery skills into the curriculum, much to the dismay of his teenager.
Satoru decided to demonstrate the concept of kinetic energy using his Infinity. He summoned a couple of marbles and set them rolling on the table, intending to show how their speed affected their energy.
"See, Haru, the faster the marble moves, the more energy it has," Gojo explained, trying to sound as convincing as possible.
His son nodded along, trying to follow his father's logic. But when Gojo decided to ramp up the demonstration by using his powers to increase the speed of the marbles to near-supersonic levels, chaos ensued.
The marbles careened off the table, ricocheting around the room like tiny bullets. Furniture was overturned, vases shattered, and Gojo found himself ducking for cover behind the sofa.
"Dad, I think we should stick to the textbook," Haru yelled over the chaos, dodging a marble that whizzed past his head.
Gojo emerged from his hiding spot, looking sheepish. "Right, maybe that was a bit much."
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the Gojo household. The door swung open, and you walked in. You were greeted not by the usual calm ambiance of home, but by a scene of utter chaos.
"Baby, what on earth happened here?" you exclaimed, taking in the overturned furniture, cracked decorations and the faint scent of burnt rubber lingering in the air.
Your husband looked up from his haphazard pile of textbooks, relief washing over his exhausted features at the sight of his wife. "Oh, thank goodness you're here. We've had a bit of a... situation."
Your son sat at the table with tears glistening in his eyes, surrounded by scattered papers and half-hearted attempts at calculations. He looked up at his mother with a mixture of frustration and defeat.
"Mom, I just don't understand any of this. We tried so much and nothing worked," he confessed, his voice trembling with emotion.
Your heart broke at the sight of your son's distress. You crossed the room in a few quick strides, wrapping him in a comforting hug. "It's okay, sweetheart. We'll figure this out together."
Turning to Gojo, you found her husband in a state of near-panic, his usual smirk replaced by a look of sheer desperation. "Love, what's going on? Why is everything in shambles?"
Gojo ran a hand through his disheveled hair, his frustration palpable. "I've been trying to help Haru study for his physics exam, but nothing seems to be sinking in. I've tried every trick in the book, and then some my personal tricks. It didn't do much though."
You couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of your usually unflappable husband on the brink of a meltdown. "Well, why don't we take a break, and then try some different approach?."

"He's Mine" - R.G.
pairing: rick grimes x f!reader
summary: s4 ep16. Joe's group finds you in the woods. reader is the one targeted instead of Carl
warnings: cursing, angst, mentions of sexual assault, blood, gore
a/n: this scene is my Roman Empire
Tumblr media
You were tired, exhausted from the day's journey. It's been three days since the attack at the prison. Three days since you've seen most of your family. You were lucky enough to have found Rick and Carl after everything went down, even luckier when Michonne came knocking on the front door of the house you were hiding out in.
It was nighttime now, you sat in the front seat of a rundown truck while Carl laid down in the backseat. It was unlikely that you'd get much sleep being so vulnerable in the open right now but Rick and Michonne insisted that you get some rest.
Your eyes stayed on the pair as they sat on a log off the side of the road. Every so often Rick would look into the truck, his eyes locking on yours before he returned back to his conversation with Michonne.
Things with Rick has always been a bit confusing for the both of you. It was clear from the moment you met that there was something there between you. Of course, nothing ever came out of it. He was married and desperately trying to fix the brokenness in his family.
Now that Lori has passed, it's been even weirder. Neither one of you wanted to make the first move and burst the safety bubble you were in, in terms of friendship. Nonetheless, you both knew you cared for one another deeply.
Your eyes dart to the woods when you see movement. Your heart drops as you see a few men creeping in the trees, eyes directly on Rick and Michonne. You knew what was about to happen. You weighed your options. You could scream and warn them, but you had no idea how many of them there were, nor do you know their intentions.
You guys are incredibly unarmed, nothing good would come out of this.
"Carl." You mumble quietly, trying not to make it obvious that you weren't alone in the truck. You have no idea how many of them are our there, no idea how many people were looking at you right now.
Carl stirred and grumbled slightly at your call, you shush him immediately.
"Carl, I need you to very slowly and quietly lay down on the floor of the truck. Keep the blanket over you completely." You mumble. "There are people surrounding us. I need you to hide until me or your dad tell you to come out. Do you understand me?" Your heart raced as you saw the men creep out from the treeline.
Carl quietly did what you said. "Y/N? What's happening?" He was scared. Carl tries his best to keep up with his dad and be a man, but he's still just a boy. It's a scary world now.
"Everything will be okay. Stay hidden, no matter what you hear, okay? Promise me." Your breathe hitched.
"I promise."
That was the last thing he said before one of the men shoved his gun against Rick's temple. You jumped in your seat as another man smacked on the window next to you. You tried your best to avoid glancing back at Carl.
The man grinned at you through the mirror, the creepiest grin you've ever seen. You couldn't hear what the other men were saying to Rick, but eventually a few more men came into view.
The creep tapped on the window, licking his lips as he stared.
Daryl strolled up to the group, it looked like they knew each other?
"Joe!" Daryl yelled, giving a name to the mystery man. You could tell he was trying to talk down the man that held a gun to Rick's head. It looked like whatever Daryl was saying was working, the man still held his gun against Rick but it looked like he was thinking about what Daryl was saying. All hope and relief you felt when your eyes met his vanished when two men grabbed Daryl, punching and kicking him.
Your heart drops as the other man throws Michonne to the ground. The door of the truck swings open and you pray that Carl is brave enough to be silent.
The man grabs you roughly, pulling you out of the truck before patting you down and throwing your pocket knife a few feet away. You fought to wiggle out of his grip but he pushed you against the ground faster than you could blink.
"Shhh.." He says into your ear. "We're gonna have some fun, sweets."
"Leave her be!" You could hear Rick yell over all the commotion. The grunts of Daryl filled your ears as he got punched and kicked only a few feet away from you.
The man on top of you was chuckling as you tried to fight him off, clawing at him and squirming to get out from underneath him.
"Listen, it was me. It was just me." Rick grumbles to Joe.
"See, now that's right. That's not some damn lie." Joe chuckles. "Look, we can settle this. We're reasonable men."
"Get off of me you sick bastard!" You shout, spitting at the man. His hands found it's way to your chest and you screamed as he touched you.
"First, we're going to beat Daryl to death. Then the girl. Then when Dan finishes having his fun with that one over there, we'll all have a turn." The smugness in his voice was deafening.
"Then I'm going to shoot you and then we'll be square." Laughter leaves Joe's body.
"Let her go." Rick says again, as your being turned onto your stomach.
You wanted to cry as Dan pressed your face into the dirt. The pain was forgotten as the sound of his belt buckle clanking rang through your ears.
"This is going to be a whole lot worse for you if you don't stop fighting." Dan grunts into your ear, pressing against your butt. Sobs begin to leave your mouth as reality of what was about to happen sets in.
There was no hope.
The man tugs at your jeans, trying to pull them down.
A gun fires. Everyone seems to pause for a moment. Dan stops for a moment and you take the opportunity to look up, praying that none of you were hit by the bullet.
You see Rick take a swing at Joe before Joe hits him right back, knocking him to the ground. Dan immediately goes back to what he was doing, trying to rip your clothes off of you. You reach for you pocket knife that was just out of reach.
Your cries filled at air when Dan pins you down once again.
"What the hell are you gonna do now, sport?"
Then a squelching sound fills the air before a body thuds to the ground. This time everyone freezes in surprise. You look back at Rick to see him completely covered in blood from his nose to his chest. He spits out blood and skin and your eyes fall onto Joe's limp body on the ground, blood gushing out of his throat.
Fuck.
Michonne doesn't waste a beat as she grabs a gun and shoots the guy holding her before taking out the ones that held Daryl.
Dan is on his feet in seconds once he realizes he's the only one left. He pulls you up, pressing against you as he holds a knife to your throat.
"I'll kill her. I'll- I'll kill her!" He shouts as Michonne points the gun at him.
"Let her go!" She demands.
Rick pulls a knife out of Joe, standing up and balancing himself. His eyes lock onto Dan, it was almost like he had tunnel vision. He pants.
"He's mine."
Rick takes a few strides towards you and you feel Dan's grip on you loosen as he's consumed with fear. He pushes you forward, staring to beg Rick for mercy.
Daryl catches you from hitting the ground as you watch Rick stab Dan over and over again. Michonne stands by you, trying to block your view of the slaughter.
"Carl." You whisper, realizing that he was still tucked inside the truck. "C-carl." You wiggle out of Daryl's grip, running to the truck and swinging the back door open.
You could see Carl's figure shaking underneath the blanket. "Carl." You say again. "Come on out, it's okay." You whisper. Slowly he peaks his head out, once his eyes meet yours, his body instantly relaxes and he's pushing himself off the ground and throwing himself into your arms.
You, Carl and Michonne stayed in the truck for the rest of the night while Daryl and Rick stayed outside. Nobody talked. Rick looked to be in his head.
Carl laid on across the back seat, his head resting on my lap. You tried to lull him to sleep but it was clear that nobody would be getting a blink of sleep after what just played out.
When the sun started to rise you asked Michonne to take your place, not wanting Carl to be alone. Daryl had gone out to scout the area.
You poured some water onto a clothe and sat down in front of Rick, settled between his legs but leaving enough space to make it appropriate.
His eyes flickered to yours as you wiped the blood off his face.
“Should’ve saved the water.” His voice was hoarse. You shook your head, trying your best to clean him.
“He shouldn’t see you like this.” You say calmly, wiping his hands clean once his face and neck were clean. Rick watched you intently.
“Are you okay?” His voice softens as he asks. You clear your throat, flashbacks of last night playing through your head. Ricks clean hand reaches up and his thumb rubs your cheek softly.
You were able to catch sight of your face in the car mirrors. Red scuff marks littered your face where you were pressed into the ground.
“I’m okay, it’s not that bad.” You shrug. Rick stared into your eyes, his hands still holding your face.
“Are you okay?” He asks again, really holding your gaze. Your chest tightens and you know you won’t be able to fight the tears.
Rick let’s go of your face but pulls your body into his immediately. You let the tears fall as he held you. “I’m so sorry.” He whispered in your ear. “I will never let anything happen to you. Ever.” He kept apologizing, his voice cracking every so often.
“You’re safe.” He says. “You’re safe with me.”
And you knew that he was telling the truth.

July 2021
Cole stood with Trevor watching you play beer pong with Alex and Jack, a smile bright on his face knowing how well you got along with his best friends.
The two of you had grown up together, both committing to Wisconsin together and both planning a full time move to Montreal this upcoming fall, for Cole to play his first full nhl season and you to being your career in interior design.
“Dude Just ask her out already, the way you two stare at each other is creepy” Trevor laughed beside him.
“We don’t stare at each other!” Cole defended, “I’m just watching her and Alex destroy Jack” he shrugged.
“Dude you two need to give it up already and just admit your feelings, or at least fuck. She’s a dime, and if you don’t swoop her up someone else will” the New York native spoke as he downed the rest of his beer and left his friend alone.
Cole didn’t want to admit his friend was right but sadly he was. He’d always felt something for you, he wasn’t really sure what exactly her felt but he’d always found himself being drawn to you.
Not to mention the way you stood by his side through everything, the way you cried into his shoulder when he was drafted, stood by his side and cried again when he won the Hobey Baker award; Twice. How you talked his anxiety away before his first nhl game and comforted him when the habs lost the cup final.
You were always there for him and he was forever grateful to have someone as amazing as you in his life.
He was taken out of his thoughts at the sight of your bubbly frame making your way towards him with a beaming smile on your face.
“You kick his ass?” He laughed as your arms wrapped around him, his hand that wasn’t holding his drink wrapping around your waist to pull you into his side.
“Annihilated Him” you smirked before cuddling even more into his side.
A blush tinting your cheeks at the feeling of his lips pressing against your head and the way his hand ran up and down your back.
Cole smirked at the shudder that ran down your body at his touch, he always noticed how you always got goosebumps when he was touching you.
“Wanna come get a some snacks with me?” He asked into your hair.
“Sure” you smiled and followed him inside the house.
You took a seat on the counter while Cole scattered through the fridge and cabinets looking for food, “what sounds good to you?” He asked, back facing you.
You weren’t sure if it was the small amount of alcohol in your system or the severe amount of built up sexual tension between the two of you that made you say it but it came out either way.
“You” you spoke causing the blonde boy to turn around quickly.
“What?” He asked making sure he heard you correctly.
“You heard me Cole, I want you” you extended a leg out to wrap around his hip and pull him forward.
“Are you sure? This could mess things up between us if it doesn’t work out” He attempted to be the voice of reason even though he was slotting himself between your thighs.
“I’m positive Cole” you assured before pulling the boy in for a deep kiss.

August 2021
Something was up, you had been sick all week and you couldn’t take it anymore. All the guys besides Alex had gone out to golf, having a late night before hand the Kings player decided to stay in.
“Why don’t we run to urgent Care? You could have a real bad case of food poisoning and you and Cole are supposed to leave in three days” He tried.
“Okay fine, let me get ready” you spoke finally agreeing with the boy who had been pushing you to go to the doctors after three days of consistent puking.
You were sat in the room with Alex in the chair next to you, they had wrote all of your symptoms down and had taken blood and urine samples.
“This is taking forever” you grumbled, a hand subconsciously rubbing over your stomach.
“I’m sure it won’t be much longer” the curly haired boy beside you spoke.
Just as you were about to issue another complaint the door opened and the doctor came in with a worried expression on her face.
“So I have some news sweetheart and I’m not really sure if it’s good or bad” she smiled sympathetically causing your stomach to drop.
You and Alex shared a quick look before you asked her to continue.
“You’re five weeks pregnant” she said.
You felt like your world stopped spinning for a moment, Pregnant? There was no way you were pregnant.
“No I’m sorry, it has to be a false negative” you laughed in disbelief.
“Honey your blood and urine test came back positive” she added.
“But I haven’t had any unprotec-“ yes you did, with Cole. Five weeks ago.
“Oh no” you cried, dropping your head into your hands.
“I’m assuming this wasn’t what you wanted to hear, uh are you the father?” She asked pointing to Alex
“Uh no, best friend” he awkwardly smiled in reply.
“Baby-daddy is out golfing” you cried, feeling like a train of emotions hit you at once.
“What? Oh-oh shit” Alex spoke as he finally connected all the dots, you and Cole disappearing that July night and you walking out of his room the next morning with disheveled hair and a limp.
After getting a talk through of the calls and appointments you needed to make the doctor let you leave with some paperwork and a copy of your test results.
“What am I gonna do Alex? There’s no way he wants a baby right now! He’s about to start his first season in the NHL” you cried out to the boy in the drivers seat.
“Hey calm down, I’m sure if you guys talk it out everything will be okay” he smiled reassuringly and patted your knee.
Returning home you found Cole and Jacks cars in the driveway meaning everyone was home.
“Relax, it’s going to be okay” Alex spoke up sensing your anxiety.
You nodded with a smile as you both made your way into the house, hearing everyone in the kitchen.
“Hey we were wondering where you to went” Jack spoke as he watched you both enter.
“Finally convinced someone to go to a doctor” Alex laughed in attempt to get the boys off your back so you could find Cole.
“Uh do you guys know where Cole is?” You asked.
“His room” Trevor replied, he knew something was wrong he could see it on your face and in your eyes.
Mumbling a thank you, you made your way up to the Centers bedroom knocking before entering.
“Hey, everything okay? We came back and you guys were gone” he smiled pulling you into his side from where he stood.
“Um, We need to talk. And you might want to sit down” you mumbled.
“Okay..” he said as he sat at the edge of the bed, you standing in front of him.
“So we went to urgent care to see what was going on and it’s not food poisoning” you began.
“Oh that’s great, what did they say you sicknesses is from then?” Cole smiled happy that you weren’t sick.
“I-uh, I’m five weeks pregnant Cole”
You could see the boy physically pale at the words that dropped from your mouth, his smile had dropped and he looked at you like a deer in headlights.
“I-your what?” He stuttered out in disbelief.
“Pregnant” you whispered.
“Okay” he nodded
“Okay? You’re just perfectly fine with this?” You panicked.
“No, I mean I’m fucking terrified but this is our fault. Our parents taught us what protection is and we chose not to use it. But if this isn’t what you want I won’t be bad, I understand” he softly spoke as he stood up and wrapped you in a hug.
“I’m so scared Cole” you finally broke down.
“Me to but we got this, I promise I will never let you or this baby down” he promised into your ear.
-
November 2021
“Do we have any ice cream left?” You asked looking over at Cole as he sat on the sectional next to you.
“No I gave you the rest last night” he replied
“Can we go to the store?” You smiled up at the man.
“Y/n it’s midnight” he laughed.
“It’s for the baby though! She wants it not me” you pouted.
You two had found the gender a few weeks ago and Cole was beyond excited to be having a baby girl.
“Come on please! I’ll even drive” you offered, doing your best to get the boy to agree with you.
“Fine” he sighed but a smile still covered his face.
“Yay! Come on” you squealed jumping up and heading to the door and sliding on your crocs and grabbing your car keys.
Cole followed behind you slipping on his own shoes, following closely behind you towards the elevator. He smiled at your little dance as you skipped in pure excitement at the thought of getting ice cream.
You sported one of his Wisconsin hoodies, leggings, and your fuzzy crocs-the boy truly thought you’d never looked better.
The ride to the twenty-four hour grocery wasn’t long and you made it there quickly.
“What flavor are you thinking?” He asked as you stood in front of the ice cream section, a look of pure concentration on your face.
“I don’t know, trying to get the baby to send me signals” you groaned knowing it had to hit just right to satisfy the craving.
He laughed, “okay well I’m gonna go grab some chicken while you and our girl pick your flavor” he he smiled softly at your small okay.
Finally after ten minutes you settled on cotton candy and made your way to the meat section to find Cole.
However your happy mood suddenly dropped when you seen what had been taking the boy so long, pretty little brunette.
She stood clad in an outfit not much different then yours, a beautiful smile beaming up at Cole as she made him laugh with something she said-His smile mirroring hers.
You really didn’t have a right to be jealous, you and Cole had both felt that a relationship wouldn’t work between the two of you and that doing this as best friends would be better. But for some reason you couldn’t shake the unsettling feeling in your lower stomach.
Sensing eyes on him Cole turned to find you in a staring contest with the ground, obviously stuck in your thoughts.
The girl had followed his eyes to where you stood, body being swallowed by a hoodie that obviously didn’t belong to you.
“Oh I didn’t know you had a girlfriend” she mumbled stepping back a bit.
“She’s not-it’s complicated” he mumbled.
“On and off again complicated Or?” She asked trying to get him to continue.
“We’re best friends but we did some stuff that ended us in a sticky situation, and now I’m not really sure what we are” he did his best not wanted to expose his entire private life to a stranger.
“Ahh” she nodded before continuing, “well if it’s not a problem with you, I’d like to give you my number” she blushed.
“Yeah sure” he blushed back and handed his phone over.
-
November 2021
“Do I look okay?” He questioned stepping out of his room dressed in a nice sweater and jeans.
“You look great” you smiled at the boy.
Cole had began talking to the girl from the grocery store-Sophia was her name, and tonight they had a date.
He nodded in thanks before gathering his things and turning back to you, “You sure you’ll be okay while I’m gone?” He asked
“Yeah, me and Emma are going to grab some pizza and maybe a movie, I’ll be good” you smiled at the boy.
“Okay just call me I-Oh!” He stoped himself and ran back over to you.
“What’s wrong?” You asked with worry at his sudden move.
He ignored you and just leaned down to pull your shirt up over your bump and placed a kiss to the center of your belly.
“Bye sweet girl, be good for mommy” he whispered and placed two more quick kisses to the same spot.
“Had to tell her bye” he shrugged before placing a kiss to your head and heading out the front door.
When Cole returned home that night he found you bundled up and fast asleep on the couch, his heart warmed at the sight. He loved coming home to you and he always would, especially once your baby got here.
Scooping you up in his arms bridal style he carried you to your bedroom, his lips parted in a bright smile at the feeling of you cuddling into his chest.
“God I love you” he whispered to himself as he laid you down and watched you snuggle into your pillow.
Cole wasn’t sure what it was that made him do it but next thing he knew he was opening his phone to text Sophia, thanking her for tonight but that he wasn’t really feeling a relationship; it was a shitty lie but he knew the only girls he’d want in his arms were you and your daughter.
-
March 2022
“You look beautiful” a voice spoke from behind you causing you to jump.
“Christ Cole! You scared the shit out of me” you groaned as you turned around to face the blonde.
“I’m Sorry. But seriously you look gorgeous, stop judging yourself” he scolded you.
“I just feel fat! Nothing fits and my feet hurt” you cried.
It was the morning of your baby shower and all the dresses you had picked didn’t seem to fit anymore causing you to rip through your closet like a mad woman.
“You are not fat, you’re growing our gorgeous baby girl in there” he softly spoke as he made his way towards you.
He came up behind you and wrapped his arms around you while his hands rubbed your belly, smiling as he felt his daughter kick him.
“You look absolutely stunning Y/n, and I love this dress” he complimented.
“Thank you but you’re not really helping” you groaned, head leaning back to rest against his chest.
“Yeah why not?”
“Because I’m an overly hormonal pregnant woman and you just turned me on when both of our families are down the hall”
-
April 2022
“Oh my god Cole she’s perfect” You whispered to the man who was still clad in his dress pants, button up and suit jacket long discarded due to wanting skin to skin with his daughter.
You had gone into Labor right as the Habs were exiting the plane from their short trip to Ottawa meaning cole rushed in right from the airport, not having time to change out of his suit.
“She’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen” he spoke in a soft voice, tears brimming his eyes as he continued to star at his daughter.
“I can’t believe we made that” you laughed
“Thank you” he suddenly said as he turned to face you, face as serious as ever.
“For what?”
“For giving me a family. I’ve never seen myself settling down or having a child but you’ve blessed me with the most beautiful thing in the world. I truly can’t thank you enough Y/n, I’m so thankful you were the one I was able to do this with.”
“Cole come here” you cried as you pulled the man onto the bed with you, carefully of course.
“I’m thankful to you know, it wasn’t exactly on my bucket list to be a mom at twenty one but I’m grateful that it’s you I get to live through this with” you sweetly smiled at the man as he leaned his forehead against yours.
You felt his eyes shift from your lips to you eyes a few times and just as you were both about to lean in, a knock sounded on the door.
-
July 2022
“You know when I said to make a move I didn’t mean knock her up” Trevor spoke to his friend as he helped set up the candles on the dock.
“Yeah way to baby trap her Cole” Alex laughed from where he picked the petals off the roses.
“I did not baby trap her!” The blonde exclaimed causing his three friends to laugh.
“Hey we’re not judging man, you got the girl you wanted and found a way to keep her around forever” Jack spoke
“You guys are assholes, now hurry up and finish helping before her and Ellen get back” he replied with a shake of his head.
An hour later Alex was blindfolding you and leading you out the back door of the Lake house towards the dock.
“Turcs what’s going on?” You laughed hearing your daughter giggle at Jack and Trevor behind you two.
“Nothing! Just be quite” he sassed and continued leading you.
“Okay take it off” he whispered and when you did you felt warmth flood your cheeks and tears prick your waterline.
There on the dock stood Cole surrounded by beautiful bouquets of white roses and candles while red petals covered the wood below him.
“Wha-?” You muttered as you stumbled towards him.
“Hi” he whispered, taking your hands in his as you approached him.
“What’s all this” you smiled with warm tears now running down your cheeks.
“I uh-You-shit this is harder than I thought” he laughed at his self
“I know we haven’t exactly established what we are but um” he began but was cut off by a loud New York accent.
“Just get on your fucking knee!”
Trevor’s voice caused the group around you-that you hadn’t realized was there to laugh. However it did cause Cole to shake off his nerves and drop down onto his knee.
“Things have always been a bit tricky with us but I’ve always known that I loved you. You’ve been there for all my ups and downs, my lowest of lows and highest of highs. These past eleven months have made me realize that I want you forever, I Want to go to bed to you and wake up to you everyday, I’m sick of telling people your just my best friend because baby you are way more than that. I’ve spent everyday loving you and I want to do that forever, so what I’m trying to say is, baby will you marry me?”
A sob broke through your and if it wasn’t for the smile on your face and nod of your head Cole would have been panicking.
“Yes, A thousand times yes” you cried as he slipped the breathtaking oval diamond onto your finger; the ring you showed him in college drunk off your ass, telling him that if someone ever proposed you wanted this one.
“I love you so much” you whispered as his cupped your cheeks to pull you into a kiss.
Your short moment was interrupted by Jack running down and jumping on Cole while Trevor handed you your daughter. Your families joined to share hugs and congratulations, both of your mothers smothering you in kisses and sweet words.
“Fucking finally Cole grew some balls and made it official” you heard Trevor exclaim causing a round of giggles and head nods.

April 2023
“Look Rosie! Here comes daddy and uncle Kirby” you exclaimed to your daughter as she stood against the glass.
“Ada!” She giggled as Cole slammed himself against the glass
“Hi baby!” He waved blowing the small one year old a kiss.
He went to open his mouth but his body was pushed out of the way by three large ones causing your daughter to beam brightly at the three men.
“Hi Rosie!”
“Ahoj Kočka”
“Hi pretty girl”
Spoke Arber, Juraj, and Kirby in sync, all three men smiling brightly at their niece, your daughter babbled in return smacking the glass with her tiny hands.
“Can you fuckers move!” You heard your fiancé yell as he pushed between Arber and Juraj to get back in his daughter’s sight, this time with a puck.
“Here baby, daddy got you a puck” he smiled and tossed one over the glass for you to catch.
You smiled fondly at the two, while you hadn’t expected to be a young mom you wouldn’t trade it for the world. You were madly in love with an amazing man and had a beautiful little girl together.
The journey was bumpy but in the end you got the life you’d always wanted

The end…

Liar part 2
Dean Winchester x little sister!reader, John Winchester x daughter!reader
Synopsis: John goes after you and Dean after you left him behind.
A/N: here’s part 2! I hadn’t planned on this, but I got some inspiration so here it is. Not really my favorite, but it’s alright.

Tumblr media
Previously on:
"Dean? Why didn't you want me to go back to the room?"
"Can't you just trust me?"
"Don't say that, I do trust you, always. But I wanna know."
Dean tried his best to force a smile on his lips as he reached over and ruffled your hair.
"Doesn't matter sweetheart. What matters is, you're safe, and we're gonna be ok."
"What about dad?"
Dean forced himself to look over at you, and he felt a pang in his chest when he saw you. You were curled in on yourself, looking up at him. You looked so small.
Honey, I need you to just trust me. Please, can you do that for me?"
You didn't even hesitate.
"Ok Dean. I trust you."
You were true to your word. Over the next several days, Dean drove you as far away as possible from John, stopping every night at dingy motels. Each night while you slept, Dean searched for a job, trying to make this trip seem less aimless.
Even though you had no clue where you were going, or why Dean had left dad in the dust, you didn’t ask Dean about it again. He asked you to trust him, and he was incredibly proud to discover that you trusted him this much. Enough to leave dad for the time being, to travel across the country, and not ask him why, simply because he had asked you not to.
Your patience could not last forever, though, and that night when Dean informed you that you’d be driving through the night, you finally brought up the cursed topic.
“Dean?”
Dean turned down the music and glanced over at you.
“What’s up?”
“When are we gonna see dad again?”
Dean sighed. He knew this would have to come up eventually.
“I don’t know.”
“You can’t stay mad at him forever. He has to be worried about us.”
Dean shook his head, “It’s not about being mad at him.”
“Then what? What’s important enough to make you leave him behind?”
Dean just stared at you.
It took three weeks for John to track down his children. He sat in the motel parking lot, debating his options. He’d arrived there just after ten at night, and even though he’d found one of Dean’s aliases checked into a room, he didn’t see the Impala anywhere. Dean must’ve been out to a bar. Not that it mattered, because after weeks of searching John was just now realizing something; he had no clue what he was going to do.
He’d thought about reasoning with Dean, but he was kidding himself. Dean always obeyed John, always, but John had never seen him more determined than when he stormed out to take you away. Dean wouldn’t be giving up.
But John couldn’t either. He couldn’t let you stay with Dean and become weak. Being weak meant you were vulnerable, and being vulnerable meant you could die. He wouldn’t let that happen. And if that meant taking you on hunts, then so be it, and screw what Dean thought.
John finally stepped out of his car, his mind made up.
You were rudely awoken from your sleep by a loud knock at the door. After two days of barely any sleep in the Impala, you had decided to hit the hay early while Dean went out for a drink.
You figured he’d probably forgotten his key, so you rolled out of bed and went to open the door.
You most certainly weren’t expecting John to be standing there when you opened it.
“Dad,” you breathed, your face lighting up. You restrained yourself from going in for a hug after what happened last time, and instead decided to see what he did. If he was in a good mood, maybe he’d let you greet him properly, but if something was going on, if danger was near, then you figured it was better to let him get down to business.
“Hey kiddo,” he spared you a half smile before glancing around the room. “Deans gone, right?”
You frowned, hesitating before responding.
“Yeah, he went out for a drink.”
Why had it sounded like John wanted Dean to be gone?
“Great, get your stuff and let’s hit the road.”
Your instincts told you to obey, but you stayed rooted to the spot, too confused to listen.
“Without Dean?”
John rubbed a hand over his face, “Look, it’s been a long day, and I don’t want any arguments. Let’s go.”
“Are we gonna get Dean first?”
John’s patience was beginning to wear thin.
“No, no we’re not. Now get your stuff.”
Your stubbornness wasn’t wavering.
“I don’t understand. What about Dean?”
John gritted his teeth, “Dean has a job he needs to work on here. We’re going. Now I won’t tell you again, get your stuff.”
You snatched your bag up and tried to find a reason to stall.
You weren’t really sure why; after all, you had been following a chain of command your whole life. John told Dean what to do, Dean told you what to do, that’s the way it had always been. You trusted it. You trusted Dean and John. But now…
Now you were starting to wonder if you trusted John because you trusted Dean.
And now, after Dean had run off on John for who knew what reason, and John was telling you to leave Dean behind…
What did you do? Who did you trust?
“Kid,” you nearly flinched when John clapped a hand on your shoulder. “C’mon, time’s wasting.” His tone was softer now, and you felt your resolve slipping. Maybe Dean really wasn’t fighting with dad, maybe it really was just some job.
You could trust John. Dean trusted John, and you trusted Dean. Dean practically sung John’s praises, so he had to be safe.
You looked up at your father and smiled.
“Yeah ok. Let’s go.”
John drove through the night, parked in a clump of trees on the side of the road for a few hours sleep, and then drove until midnight before the two of you finally stopped at a motel.
“Get some sleep,” John instructed. “In the morning we’ve got a job.”
Your head jerked up, and you frowned.
“We? As in…I’m going?”
John grinned at you.
“Yeah. I think it’s about time for your first hunt. You’ve been training with Dean, right?”
You fidgeted nervously, “I mean…yeah, I know how to kill a lot of different types of monsters, and he showed me how to use a gun and a knife and-“
“Good,” John interrupted. “Then get some rest, tomorrow’s the day.”
“But…but I thought you and Dean thought I should wait.” At least that’s what Dean said.
John just shook his head, “Dean can think what he wants. But I think you’re ready.”
Dean wasn’t sure how frantic he should be. For about forty-five seconds, he’d been freaking out, before he saw the symbol you left on a scrap of paper on the dresser.
It was an upside-down J, the symbol he’d taught you to leave if dad stopped by while he was gone.
Years earlier
“Ok, so let’s go over it again.”
“Dean, this is stupid. What are these even for anyway?”
Dean scoffed, “It’s not stupid if something comes to get you while me and Sam are gone.”
“But if it gets me, how is this gonna help?”
“Look, kid. If something happens, and I get back to the hotel, and you aren’t here, I need to know why. If you need to be on your own for a little bit, there’s a symbol for that. If you get taken by cops, we’ll know where to look. If it’s humans, we’ll have a place to start. You get where I’m going with this?”
You sighed, “Yeah ok ok. I guess that makes sense. But how am I supposed to leave this symbol if-“
“Look, I’m not saying it’s a fool proof plan. Most likely you won’t get a chance to leave me a message, but if you do, you won’t have time to think about it. That’s why you need to memorize these symbols well, so that if you do get only a split second to give me a clue, you know how to do it.”
You nodded, glancing at the symbols again before smiling up at Dean.
“You know, you’re kinda smart sometimes.”
“Yeah well, I have my moments.”
Now
So John had you. Definitely not the end of the world, but there could be only one reason John would come in while Dean was gone and take you.
He wanted you to hunt.
Dean had never struggled with family loyalty like this before. His life had been simple for so long. Do what dad said, dad knew best, dad would protect the family.
But now dad wanted to put you in danger, and Dean knew you weren’t ready. You wouldn’t ever be ready.
It wasn’t your fault, you were a hard worker, and you would do whatever Dean said. You would train all day, every day, if Dean told you to. But hunting wasn’t an instinct for you, not the way it was for Sam and Dean.
Besides, even if it had been, Dean didn’t want you out there hunting until you were old enough to choose that life. He and Sam hadn’t had a choice, they’d grown up hunting and now they were stuck doing it. Dean wanted you to have a choice. If you chose hunting, then Dean would make sure you were trained enough for it. If you chose something else, well then you hadn’t made any enemies yet, so hopefully getting out would be an option for you.
But it wouldn’t be if John had anything to say about it. Not too long ago, Dean would’ve said that he’d do anything John told him to do.
Apparently he would’ve been wrong.
Every instinct in your body was screaming at you, begging with you, desperately pleading for you to just run. The plea was deafening.
But John yelled louder.
“Kill it!”
You were trying. You really were.
You backed away from the vampire that had cornered you, swinging your machete wildly but unable to get the vampire’s head off. Quite the contrary, you seemed to only be pissing him off.
You gave another, desperate swing, and the vampire grabbed your arm, twisting it until you had no choice but to drop your weapon.
He stooped to pick it up, still holding onto your arm.
“Now what were you planning on doing with this, huh?” He twisted it in his hand, and a cry of pain escaped you when the machete sliced a long, deep cut along your ribs. His iron grip was the only thing keeping you on your feet as you hunched over your injury.
You saw a flash of metal as the vampire lifted the machete to strike a fatal blow, most likely about to lob off your head.
You heard the swish of metal, and closed your eyes tightly so you wouldn’t have to watch. You hoped it wouldn’t hurt, that you would be dead instantly.
You waited. One. Two. Three.
You hesitantly opened your eyes when you felt the hand gripping you go slack. The vampire was at your feet. Or, most of him was. His head had rolled several feet away. You felt your stomach twist, and you cried out as a sharp pain in your ribs dropped you to your knees.
John’s strong arms lifted you up, and the two of you were silent as he half carried, half dragged you to the car. Of course the silence could only last so long, and not long after the door to the car slammed shut, the yelling started.
Dean or even Sam would’ve been completely prepared for John’s blowup, especially after a job went as wrong as this one did. You, however, were finally beginning to realize just how wrong you were in your view of your father.
You were finally beginning to realize just how much Dean had lied to you about him.
It didn’t take Dean long to track down John’s alias. Thankfully, he wasn’t trying too hard to hide. Dean figured that John was fine with being found, and was just assuming that Dean would “cool off” and listen to John. Well, Dean had no intention of changing his mind.
He pounded on the motel door, and waited a grand total of seventeen seconds before kicking it down.
John jerked his head up from where he was cleaning a knife, and Dean’s eyes swept right past him until he saw you, sitting on one of the hotel beds, a needle in your hand and blood dripping down an open wound across your ribs.
“Dean, what the-“
Dean ignored his father and rushed to you, his eyes going first to your wound and then to your face, his hands reaching up and grabbing your shoulders.
“Hey baby, are you ok?”
The second your eyes landed on your older brother, your whole body seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, and he could see in your eyes how happy you were to see him.
“Dean…” the one word seemed all you could manage, but John was well ready to make up for that.
“Dean, you can’t just come charging in here! You have a job-“
“This is my job!” Dean whipped around to face his father, his voice raising until he noticed you flinching out of the corner of his eye. He lowered his voice, placing a hand back on your shoulder before continuing. “Watching out for her, that’s my job, you’ve made that clear since the day you brought her home. So now, I’m gonna stitch her up, and I-“
“I told you to train her, not baby her! She can stitch her own wound, it’s about time she learned how!”
You swallowed as you stared down at the needle in your hand. You had stitched up Sam and Dean many times, but the idea of putting the needle into your own skin was…sickening, to say the least.
Dean gritted his teeth, “She shouldn’t have to. I can take care of her.“
“You can’t-“
“And the rest of this conversation can wait until your daughter isn’t bleeding out on the bed!”
Surprisingly, John fell silent as Dean began getting you ready to be stitched up.
“Lay back,” he instructed as he sterilized the needle. You did as he said, nervously watching his hands as he worked. He smiled down at you.
“You should probably look somewhere else. It’ll hurt worse if you watch.”
You obeyed, turning your eyes from your wound to Dean’s face. He focused on his stitching at first, but once he had started he was able to focus more on you.
“So, what’d you hunt?”
“Vamps.” Your voice was quiet, and Dean could hear the barely concealed pain behind it.
“Yeesh, that must’ve been hard. Aren’t you Team Edward?”
You giggled, which made Dean’s job harder, but it was worth it to distract you from the pain.
“Hey now, I told you I watched the Twilight movies ironically.”
“Uh-huh.”
“They’re fun to make fun of!”
“Oh I’m sure princess. So, how many did you take out?”
You grinned, “Two.”
“Nice, Edward and his brother.”
“Sister, actually. And you know that thing about vamps always being hot?”
“Yeah?”
“Total myth, I mean this lady was ugly even before her head was rolling across the floor.”
Dean laughed, and you joined in before stopping with a gasp of pain.
“Ok, yeah maybe laughter was a bad idea.” Dean returned to silence for several seconds as he worked on your stitches. The tension in the room was palpable, but Dean finished the stitches quickly before John could start a fight again.
“Alright, you’re all set. Now go grab a clean shirt and change in the bathroom.” Dean helped you up and pulled you into a hug, kissing your head and whispering so John wouldn’t hear; “stay in there until I come get you, ok?”
You gave him a barely perceptible nod as you grabbed a clean shirt and disappeared into the small motel bathroom, closing the door behind you.
“So,” Dean sighed, facing his father. “I heard you, before I came in. You were yelling at her. Why? What happened on that hunt?” He stepped towards his father, “And more importantly, how could you let her get hurt? Why weren’t you watching her? This was her first hunt, anything could’ve happened!”
“How could I let her? Watch your tone, boy, I didn’t let anything happen. She was useless out there! I thought you said you trained her!”
“I didn’t train her to hunt!”
John froze.
“What?”
Dean clenched and unclenched his fists, trying to diffuse his anger at least a little.
“I didn’t train her to hunt.”
“But she said-“
“I taught her how to use weapons, how to identify monsters, but I didn’t teach her how to hunt. I taught her self defense.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“It means, that if she gets attacked, she can defend herself, that’s it! I didn’t show her how to hunt, because she’s too young to be in this life! But if something or someone goes after her, she’ll be fine.”
John scoffed, “Well all your coddling has done is insured that she can’t hold her ground in a fight!”
“You’re right!” Dean exploded, “And she shouldn’t have to! I taught her all the best ways to get to safety!”
“She needs to know how-“
“How to what? To kill?” Dean was almost nose-to-nose with John. “No. She doesn’t. Im not gonna teach her to kill. I’m gonna teach her to survive.”
Dean brushed past John and went to the bathroom door, knocking lightly on it.
“Honey? You ready to come out?”
You opened the door slowly, and Dean didn’t miss the way your head was lowered just enough for your hair to veil your face. Dean placed one hand at the back of your head, and with the other one he gently lifted your chin up.
You sniffled, trying—and failing—to blink your tears away. Dean pulled you into a hug, ignoring John’s scoff from the corner of the room.
“You did your best today, kid,” Dean’s voice was soft and quiet, and you pulled yourself closer to him, comforted by his tone. “And you’re never gonna do that again, ok? I’m never gonna make you hunt.”
“Hold on,” John would not stay silent anymore. “Dean, you can’t keep her out of this, it’s our lives.”
“Not hers!” Dean pulled away from you, but kept a hand on your shoulder to keep you close. “Not if she doesn’t want it. I trained her the way I did for a reason; if she wants to hunt when she’s older, then I’ll train her to the next level. If she doesn’t, then she knows enough to defend herself, but she hasn’t made any enemies. You’re not gonna mess that up, you aren’t gonna drag her into this life with no choice.”
John scoffed, “Well then why don’t we ask her?” John turned his laser beam face to you, “Baby, I want you to come with me. I’ll show you how to hunt, properly this time, since Dean won’t.”
You stared at him for a long moment.
This was your father, the man you’d looked up to for your whole life. The one Dean had looked up to for as long as you could remember.
But then you looked at the machete on the table, remembered how wrong it had felt in your hands. How scared you’d been going up against those vamps. How much you just wanted Dean to come and get you and take you back to the motel. How wrong it had felt to kill those vampires, to watch their heads roll across the floor, even though they’d tried to kill you.
You knew more than anything that you didn’t want to hunt. That wasn’t the life for you. But it was more than that.
John was asking you to choose him over Dean. This was not a situation you had ever imagined you would be in, and yet you knew instantly what choice to make.
There were many reasons for your choice, but one memory came to your mind as one of the best reasons.
Years ago
“He’s not coming, is he?”
Dean threw an arm around your shoulder, trying desperately to lighten the mood.
“I’m sure things just got a little hairy with that wendigo. He’ll be back in a day or so, though.”
“I think he might’ve forgotten.” You weren’t about to tell Dean, but that morning you had called John, desperate to hear his voice on your birthday. He had answered, surprisingly, but as soon as he found out that there was no emergency, he’d hung up with a simple, “I’ll be home soon…ish.”
He hadn’t said “happy birthday”, or “sorry I couldn’t be there”, or anything like that. You were almost sure he’d forgotten.
“Of course he didn’t forget,” Dean assured you, with so much conviction that you were starting to believe him. If Dean thought that John was so great, then surely he was right. Dean was always right, and he wouldn’t lie to you.
“Tell you what,” Dean continued. “Go sit in Baby, I’ve got a surprise for you.”
You obeyed eagerly, and as soon as you sat in the passengers seat, Dean handed you a small parcel wrapped in a newspaper.
You tore it open to reveal a cassette tape.
“What’s-“
“It’s a mixtape,” Dean was grinning from ear to ear. “It’s got all your favorites on it.”
You giggled, “what happened to driver picks-“
“Eh eh, House rules still stand, but, if you’re lucky, or it’s a special occasion, I might just let you pop that in once in a while.”
You grinned up at Dean.
“Special occasions…like my birthday?”
Dean laughed, “Stick it in, birthday girl! I wanna make sure I got all your favorites on there.”
Two hours and a lot of karaoke later, you assured Dean that he had in fact got all of your favorites on there, and he smiled at you for a moment before-
“You wanna play them again?”
Now
“No.”
John stared at you.
“What?”
You swallowed hard, nervously fingering the sleeve of Dean’s jacket as you stared back at your father.
“No. I don’t wanna hunt, and I want to be with Dean.”
“You…” John seemed at a loss for words. He couldn’t comprehend his baby girl picking her brother over her father.
“I want Dean.”
Even though your voice was quiet, the authority and surety in it was undeniable.
John didn’t speak. He simply grabbed his bag and walked out the door, leaving his children alone as he drove off.
“He’ll be back,” Dean assured you, and even though neither of you knew it at the time, he was right. John might not always be right about family, but he wouldn’t abandon them.
“Ok,” Dean was surprised at your tone. You didn’t sound as though you really cared if John came back.
“Are you ok?” Dean asked, sitting down on the bed so he was closer to eye level with you.
You sat down next to him and curled yourself into his side.
“I am now.”
Eventually, Dean laid back onto the bed, and you went with him, and the two of you laid there for a while, wrapped up together in a contented state. Dean was just about to drift off to sleep when you spoke.
“You lied to me. About dad.”
Dean’s voice came out in a sigh, and his chest rumbled under your head as he spoke
“I know.”
“Dean?”
Dean hummed.
“Thank you.”

After considerable effort on Billy’s part, he’d eventually coaxed you back into his car and driven the both of you back to the motel. You’d cried the entire way there, and he felt like a piece of shit for it.
Once inside, you’d sat on the edge of the bed, staring down at the floor.
“I’m going to shower again real quick—sweated through my fucking clothes from nerves.”
“Okay.”
He sighs. “I need to worry about you running off again while I’m in there?”
You’re quiet for a moment. “No. I’m tired. I just want to go to sleep.”
He nods and watches as you get ready to lay down on the left side, which is nearest the door.
“Other side,” he says.
You look at him. “Why?”
He crosses his arms. “Please just do what I’ve asked. I don’t feel like fighting anymore tonight.”
You roll your eyes, lying down on the right side, cocooning yourself in blankets.
He goes to wash up quickly then.
Tumblr media
When Billy comes back into the bedroom, you’re already fast-asleep. He feels relief that you’d stayed. He’d rushed so much in the shower that he’d gotten shampoo in his eyes. He was surprised the sound of him cursing hadn’t woken you.
He lies down in only his briefs—hating the feeling of clothing on him in bed, but chooses to suck it up for tonight—and he lays on his side, looking at you. Your bruises were still, obviously, quite prominent, but a few were beginning to turn more green instead of their previous dark-blue shade.
He briefly wonders how the fuck your dad could’ve ever put his hands on you, then thinks on how he nearly did just the same less than two hours ago. He tells himself he wouldn’t have done it—but the thought had crossed his mind. He’d wanted to see you afraid in that moment. And then, once he had, immediately regretted it. Deeply.
A muscle in his jaw feathers when he thinks of how you’d asked him to please not hurt you. How he’d come out of the bathroom to find you curled into a ball on the floor, a nervous wreck.
He did that to you.
You’d come with him to get away from your abuser, only to find another one along the way. What the fuck was wrong with him? Picking on you and getting under that pretty skin was one thing—he honestly fucking loved pissing you off and making you flustered. Plus, it turned him on unlike anything else. But scaring you? It just made him hate himself even more than he already does.
He slowly reaches up and gently runs his fingertips along your cheek. “I’m sorry.”
You stir in your sleep, scooting a bit closer to him. He then tries something that, if you wake up, he’s sure he’ll get his ass chewed out for. He wraps his right arm around you, bringing you in closer to him, until you’re against his chest. Thankfully, you remain asleep. He presses a soft kiss to the top of your head.
He then realizes this is the only time he can really talk to you—if he so chooses. He knows if he tried while you’re awake that you’d listen. But what if you later used it against him? Or thought him weak? Or some faggot for ‘sharing his feelings’? No. He had to be strong—tough. That was what constituted being a real man.
He tucks your head under his chin. “I won’t ever scare you like that again. I’d never raise a hand to you.” He lays his cheek against the crown of your head of soft hair. “I don’t know why the fuck I act the way I do. I just don’t know how to stop it. Maybe I can’t.”
He sighs. He was tired—bone-tired after the adrenaline that had rushed through him as he drove down street after street looking for you, mind racing with horrible thoughts. Thoughts like: if someone did kidnap and kill you…the last thing you would remember would be that everyone you’ve ever trusted has either hurt or abandoned you—including him—that no one was coming.
He pulls you impossibly closer then. “Still not going to stop getting on your nerves, though,” he says with a small smile.
You’re awake. Have been the entire time, but choose not to react—to say anything. You want him to continue talking—letting it—anything—out. This is the him you like. Someone who’s capable of opening up and being the least bit vulnerable. Not the monster you’d bore witness to earlier in the evening. As you looked at the hatred in his eyes then, you felt like you were looking at a stranger.
Then again, you feel that way when he’s nice, too. Maybe he has multiple personalities. You smirk at the stupid idea, for whatever reason, then snuggle closer to his chest, enjoying the warmth, his broad back blocking the AC from blowing on you.
The two of you fall asleep like that—twined around one another.
Tumblr media
When you wake the next morning, Billy’s heavy form is lying half on top of you, his face buried in the crook of your neck, one of his legs positioned between both of yours. He snores lightly into your ear. And then you notice you’re now drenched in sweat from his body heat.
God, he’s like a human furnace. How the hell does he wear that leather jacket all the time?
You try to wiggle away from him and his snoring pauses for a moment, then continues as you lie still momentarily. You then move further toward the edge of the bed, and once you’ve slid out and onto the floor, you stand, looking down at him, seeing he’s now practically star-fished all across the mattress.
You walk over to your bag, now needing to shower again yourself to wash the sweat off, and grab a few items of clothing, silently padding into the bathroom, shutting the door behind you.
Tumblr media
When you emerge half-an-hour later—half that time spent blow-drying your head of long hair, and pulling it into a ponytail—something you’d not done in the last couple of days—instead opting for leaving it down—you find Billy already awake, leaned back against the headboard, one arm behind his head, the other holding the TV remote in his lap.
He glances up to you, appreciating the view of you in a crop-top and jean shorts. He wolf-whistles and you don’t even give him a reaction as you place your things back in your bag.
You then turn around and he winks at you.
You don’t want to admit it, but him acting cocky and full of himself again actually comforts you. This him you can tolerate, if not begrudgingly.
“We have to be checked out in a little over an hour.”
He nods, continuing to look you over. “Why don’t you ever tease your hair?”
You shrug, even if you’re taken a little aback by the question. “I used to.”
“When?”
You cross your arms, leaning back against the wall, smirking. “Before you came to Hawkins.”
He frowns. “Why stop?”
“Why do you care what my hair looks like?”
“Just think you’d look hot with it done up is all.”
You walk over, throwing the curtains open and he squints, wincing against the bright light now streaming in. “I don’t have anyone in particular that I’m trying to impress.”
He rolls his eyes at the cheap shot.
You seat yourself on the foot of the bed, facing him.
He raises a brow. “Somethin’ on your mind, doll?”
You grow serious then. After last night, you weren’t sure you could go back to this charade. Not after seeing such a different side of him on the interstate. “Do…do you want to talk about last night?”
He almost replies immediately with 'not really', but refrains. “What about it?”
You look down to your hands in your lap. “They’re not going to be happy, seeing as you put a hole in their wall.”
His jaw flexes. “They can hang a painting up then. Or plaster over it. Like I care.”
You look up to him. “So we’re going back to this, then? You acting like nothing matters to you? And me pretending to believe it?”
He leans his head back, staring up at the ceiling. “What is it with chicks, man? Always wanting to talk about your damn feelings all the time.” He looks at you. “I got pissed, I did something stupid, and then you did too. What, you want to kiss and make up?”
He cocks his head to the side.
You understand the walls he has built around himself. You’re two sides of the same coin that way. It’s why you didn’t put much effort into making friends at school. You knew what happened when you opened up to people.
They often disappointed.
You scoot closer to him and he shifts uncomfortably, knowing what you’re doing—trying to get closer literally, so as to get closer to him figuratively. He knows this is you trying to connect—form some deeper type of relationship with him, and he should want that, but he simply can’t.
He stands then, walking over to his duffel bag to start getting dressed.
“Billy-”
He keeps his back turned to you. “Just don’t, alright? I’m not the sappy, chick-flick type. We had a fight, we both got upset, it’s over. Just drop it.”
You deflate. “Fine.”
“Fine,” he says, pulling out a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt from his bag.
Tumblr media
The two of you get breakfast at the motel—cheap waffles and fruit, but it’s something, and free at that, so you fill yourselves before getting back on the road.
And nearly three hours later finds you on the side of the interstate with a flat tire.
You’d both felt something wrong with the front driver’s side and you’d looked at him, while he groaned, slamming his hand against the wheel. “Fuck, what now?”
He’d pulled onto the shoulder, kneeling down and looking it over. You stood nearby, staying silent as he let out a string of curse words.
He then stood, walking around to the back and popping the truck. You stood idly by, watching as he tossed your bags and his onto the ground, removing the spare tire from the trunk, then the jack and lug-wrench. He tosses the tire down near the flat, then angrily pulls his jacket off, tossing it at you.
You catch it before it can smack you in the face and gently drop it in the back seat.
You watch as he gets to work loosening the bolts on the tire and you feel yourself flush. Watching him work on a car…you hadn’t expect this reaction.
You then wonder if he’s ever done any other work on it before. By the callouses on his hands, especially at eighteen, you imagine so.
When he begins to jack it up, you bite back a nervous smile, feeling something pool between your thighs. Oh, not good. Not here.
You turn away for a moment and he glances up to you. “What, can’t take watching a man get his hands dirty? Sorry your pretty-boy Harrington isn’t here and fuckin’ clueless, I’m sure.”
You turn back around and he notices your flushed cheeks, and you refusing to meet his eyes. “No, it’s not that.”
He stares at you for a moment, then it dawns on him. You like this. A toothy grin forms on his face. “You should see me under the hood of this thing, sweetheart. I’d really have you sweating then.”
He turns back to the tire, loosening the bolts the rest of the way, pulling it off, and looking it over. Then he explodes, causing you to take a step back. “Motherfucker! Are you fucking kidding me? Goddamn piece of fucking shit! Fuck this, I knew I should’ve bought a Goodyear!”
He stands, hands on his hips, shoulders rising and falling rapidly as he stares down at the ruined tire, nostrils flared.
“W-what’s wrong? Can you not patch it somehow, maybe?”
He stays silent for a moment, refusing to take this out on you. “No,” he says, brow twitching in irritation. “I would’ve, had the puncture not been in the goddamn sidewall.”
“That’s bad?”
He looks at you, replying sarcastically. “Yeah, honey, that's bad. Means the thing is fuckin’ junk now.”
He kicks it. Then he sighs, bending back down to put the spare on.
“Well, you can just drive on that one now, right?”
He looks upward to the sky, begging for the strength. “Women…” he mutters. “Not more than thirty or forty miles. Definitely no more than a hundred, and that’s if I really want to push my fuckin’ luck and risk another blowout, if not screwing up my alignment, which will just create an even bigger mess.”
It all sounds like Greek to you. “What’s wrong with that tire?”
He looks at you like the answer should be obvious. “It’s a goddamn donut. They’re not meant to be driven on for long periods of time.”
He shoves it on the car, screwing the nuts back into place.
You stay silent after that.
Tumblr media
You’re currently standing beside Billy—the back of his shirt drenched in sweat from the summer heat—and watch as the man in front of you, standing behind the counter of a local auto-body shop, talks lowly to someone on the phone, glancing to Billy every few seconds, who is now in a…bad mood, to put it lightly.
The man finally hangs up, turning back to him. “Soonest I can get one in is two days.”
“Two fucking days? Are you kidding me?” He shouts.
You blanch, staring at the man with wide-eyes as he crosses his arms before his chest, giving Billy a rather displeased look.
You then grab the side of Billy’s shirt in your fist. You look at the man. “I’m sorry about that, we’ll be right back.”
Billy looks at you. “Don’t apologize to him. This is fuckin’ ridiculous-”
You shoosh him rather loudly—people already staring in your direction—and pull him back outside for a moment. He stares down at you.
“What?” he spits at you.
“Who cares if it’s two days, or four or five? It’s not like we’re on a set schedule. All that matters is that we eventually get there. I mean, maybe we could start taking detours along the way and do some sight-seeing. No reason to race all the way there and not enjoy the trip, right?”
He studies you for a moment. His first reaction was to tell you this isn’t a fuckin’ vacation—you weren’t going to be pulling off and taking photos of obnoxious tourist-traps. And then he suddenly softens.
This is you trying to spend time with him…right?
If he tells you no…he fears it may come off like he’s trying to get to California as quickly as possible so he can finally be rid of you.
Then he wonders what happens once the two of you do finally reach those sandy shores. Will you leave him behind, too…?
He shakes his head for a moment, ridding himself of that thought and you deflate at his reaction to your suggestion for making your road trip just a bit more exciting.
“Oh. Sorry. Nevermind. Just forget that I-”
He looks at you again, pinching the bridge of his nose. “No, I wasn’t-” He sighs. “Fine. We’ll take a couple days off and just explore around town. Find some overpriced souvenir shop so you can buy some ridiculous t-shirt. Happy?”
You smile, nodding.
He heads back inside then. “Two days is fine.”
Tumblr media
You decide to pay up two nights at a local Red Roof Inn, which happens to have an outdoor pool. When Billy was told this by the receptionist, he’d looked to you with a raised brow and a smirk, his eyes trailing down your body, then back up. “We’ll have to pick you up a bikini, sweetheart.”
You’d not replied or even reacted as you picked up your bags, turning to head to your room.
Once dropping off your things, Billy had walked back to the door, intending to head back out, intent on keeping his promise of buying you skimpy swimwear. He’d merely called over his shoulder, as you came out of the bathroom, “You comin’?”
Tumblr media
It takes a bit of driving before you come across a local clothing shop. You head over to a rack of sundresses and flowy skirts once inside, while Billy heads to a rack a few feet away with women’s swimwear. He smirks when he finds something similar to what he had pictured in his head for you to squeeze into.
He holds it up, the hanger dangling from his index finger, and he calls to you.
When you look at him you flush—of course the bottoms are equivalent to a thong. Your eyes then meet his and he’s waiting for you to respond, a brow raised in offer.
You then shake your head lightly, looking away.
He sighs. “Course not.”
He flips through a couple other options, then picks up a red two-piece—the top essentially a push-up bra. He clears his throat and you look to him again, then quickly away.
He walks over to you, hanger still in-hand. “Oh, c’mon. Just try this one on. Humor me, honey.”
You shake your head, nose raised. “I don’t think so.”
He leans down. “Pretty please?”
You look at him, his face inches from your own.
You shift from one foot to the other. “If I pick one out will you shut up about it?” You ask sweetly, batting your lashes.
He smirks. “If I get to watch.”
You turn away, rolling your eyes, his own landing on your ass, humming his approval at the view.
Tumblr media
You find a high-waisted two-piece and a one-piece you like the look of, and you head for the changing room, Billy following closely behind you, which you don’t notice until you turn to shut the door and he places his hand flat against it, keeping it open.
You stare up at him. “Move.”
He leans against the wall with his shoulder, other hand on his hip. “You never said I didn’t get to watch.”
“It was implied.”
He just continues staring down at you.
You then step closer to him, gripping either side of his jacket in your hands, looking up to him with hooded lids. “Hey, Billy?”
God, it took no fucking effort from you for him to be set on fire.
“Yeah, doll?” He asks, tucking some hair behind your ear.
“Go find someone who’s desperate enough,” you say, pushing him back, and just as he catches his footing, you slam the door in his face.
Tumblr media
You decide on the two-piece, the one-piece a bit awkward-looking in the crotch.
When you exit the changing room, you find Billy standing near a wall half-full of novelty t-shirts.
You wander over to him and watch as a smile breaks out across his face as he pulls down a shirt. He then glances to you at his side and holds it up in front of him.
“What’d’ya think?” He asks.
It’s a plain black shirt with white lettering and a red heart, reading: I heart sluts.
You look at him with an unimpressed expression. “Really?”
“Oh, I definitely fuckin’ do.”
You turn away. “I’m going to check out.”
Billy puts the shirt back, flipping through a handful more and then he laughs to himself. “Oh, fucking perfect,” he says, taking a different one up front with him.
Tumblr media
When Billy comes out to the car, he has a pair of swim shorts in a plastic bag and is wearing his new t-shirt.
He gets inside and turns toward you, the front of his shirt on full display. “Where to next? Unless you want to head back and let me see you in that suit?”
When you look at him you let out a completely unexpected laugh.
He keeps his face impassive. “Somethin’ funny?”
You stare at the front of his shirt—just how utterly ridiculous and on-the-nose it is—and then look back up to him, breaking into a fit of giggles.
Seeing you like this—happy, having a laugh for once—he starts to, too. “What?” He asks, snorting. “You think I don’t want to?”
You look back down to his shirt again, tears streaming down your face. “Oh, I do. You’re just not going to.”
He finally turns the engine over, pulling away from the shop. “Oh, baby, you should know by now: I’m not one to give up easily.”
You glance back down to his shirt. ‘Fuck virgins’. Really?
Tumblr media
After grabbing a quick bite to eat for lunch, Billy finds a local arcade and the two of you head inside, simply looking for something new to keep you occupied for a couple hours.
And it’s when you look around at the flashing lights and take in the sounds of music and machine sound effects, couples and friends laughing and competing against one another, that you realize that for the first time in a very long time you feel worry-free.
You glance up to Billy at your side and find yourself unable to understand, exactly, how it is that you now feel toward him.
You’d seen a different side of him last night on the side of the interstate—the same man who’d picked you up on your way out-of-town—and just wish you could get more glimpses of that version of him. A version you feel you can actually trust and let your defenses down with.
I can’t do this without you.
You weren’t sure you could’ve made it this far without him, either. In reality, you were the one who needed him. He had the car, the money, the wherewithal, and the knowledge to keep you going. And then you briefly consider how those things, coupled with his more serious moments, make you feel safe in relying on him. You wonder how that would make him feel to know. And then you think of his fist in a drywall and withdraw a little.
“You were wrong, y’know,” you say softly.
He looks down to you, stopping, hands on his hips. “What’s that, darlin’?”
You clasp your hands in front of you, looking down. “You could—can—do this without me. You’re not the one who needs the other here.”
He studies you for a moment. Then he grips your chin gently between his fingers, forcing your eyes to meet his. “You’re wrong.”
He turns, taking your hand, and leading you over to a machine that will turn his cash into tickets for games. He bites back a satisfied smile at you admitting that you need him as he shoves dollar bills into it. It means a lot to him to hear. Means a lot that you’re willing to actually admit it out loud.
Once you’re both holding handfuls of tickets, Billy heads toward a racing game, while you go to wander in the opposite direction, wanting to try a claw machine, until he grips the hem of your top, dragging you along beside him. “Stop wanderin’ off.”
You look up at him with narrowed eyes. “I don’t think I can get lost in here.”
He smirks. “I’ll win you a stuffed animal later. Once you’ve earned it.”
The two of you then sit side-by-side, readying yourself to race. He glances to you as the screens begin to count down. “Don’t think I’m about to take it easy on you either, just because you have a pair of tits.”
You glare at him. “Why do you always have to be such a vulgar ass?”
He smirks. “Says the girl with a foul-mouth.”
Your wheel jerks and you gasp in disbelief that he was already ramming his car into yours.
You keep your eyes trained ahead at the screen then and accelerate, then see Billy shifting gears out of the corner of your eye.
You mentally resign yourself to losing to him… And you do a couple minutes later, him standing with a smug look on his face, arms crossed.
“Billy, one. You,” he shrugs, sucking on his teeth, cocking his head to the side.
You look behind him and smile, stepping past him, heading for the air hockey.
Tumblr media
You currently have six scores to Billy’s two, and as you glance up to him—the irritated look on his face—you find yourself unsurprised that he’s the competitive type.
He smacks the puck back toward you, brows furrowed, free hand gripping the edge of the table so hard that his knuckles are white. “How the fuck are you so good at this?”
You shrug, smacking the puck back his way. “Guess it just comes naturally.”
He glances up to you with a smirk. “Oh yeah? Putting stuff in holes your specialty?” He smacks the puck back toward you.
You don’t take the bait, and instead choose to flip the script on him. “Maybe I just got a lot of recent practice in the night Steve and I went out. Maybe we went to the Hawkins Arcade after.”
You smack the puck as hard as you can, his eyes now trained on you and not the table, and it slides into his side easily. The table lets out a musical jingle at yet another victory on your part and you raise your arms above your head, and jump. “Yes!” You say with a smile, settling back into fighting stance.
His nostrils flare and he leans over the table, slamming the puck down and smacking it so hard it goes flying past you.
You roll your eyes, heading over to grab it and when you bend down to do so, you feel a hard smack against your behind and when you whirl around, Billy standing behind you with a wide smile.
“Bet Harrington didn’t get to do that, though, did he?”
You shoulder check him as you head back to the table. “Felt like a flea bite to me.”
Just as you set the puck back on the table, you feel him grab a handful and squeeze.
You squeak in surprise and before he gets a chance to make it back to his side, you smack the puck over, scoring yet again.
His smile drops from his face. “Hey! That’s fuckin’ cheating.”
You smile sweetly. “Sounds like a skill issue to me.”
He’s fuming now and you can’t believe just how serious he’s taking this.
But one more score on your part and the game will thankfully be over.
Billy once again slams the puck down on the table and doesn’t look at you once as the two of you battle it out—him the image of utter concentration.
You then throw at him, “If you let me win, maybe I’ll repay you in sexual favors.”
His head shoots up and the table jingles and he lets out a loud curse.
Billy is still fuming a few minutes later as the two of you browse their other games, until he eyes up a pinball machine and smiles.
You go to walk past it, until he grabs you by the hips and lifts you onto it.
You flush, glancing around, afraid of being kicked out by an employee, until he shoves two tickets into the machine, positioning his hands on either side of you, over-top of the buttons, his eyes staring into your own.
“Skill issue my ass,” he says, pulling the knob back, sending the tiny pin ball flying.
You cover the entire front portion of the game, so there’s no way he has any idea what he’s doing. Until he pushes the button for the right bumper, then the left, left again, right, his eyes never leaving your own.
The scoreboard begins to climb behind you—ten points, thirty, thirty-five, fifty, eventually a hundred, a few hundred. He smirks. “You won the last game, so what sexual favors do I get rewarded with again?”
The pinball tings under you.
You shift and he just continues staring, waiting.
“I…” You trail off. It wasn’t like he had let you win. You’d cheated, like he said. Twice, really.
The machine begins to go wild under you and coins begin to shoot into the dispenser—so many they begin spilling onto the floor.
"You should see what else these fingers are good at playing with." He slides his hands up your thighs until they’re resting over your hips. He pulls you closer to him. “Maybe I should just choose.”
You laugh from nerves. “I wasn’t serious.”
He slides his hands onto your bare waist. “You think I’m letting you out of it that easy?” He steps back finally, scooping coins into his hands, stuffing them into his pockets. “Not likely, sweetheart.”
You stand silently beside Billy as he looks over the larger prizes against the wall behind the counter. They even have an Atari. He’d wanted one for a long time, but after getting told no more times than he could count by his dad, he finally gave up on it. And when he got his car, he didn’t have much interest in wasting his time on anything else. Working on it more than served to take his mind off his shitty life.
He looks to you and you smile up at him, waiting patiently while he makes up his mind.
Then, “You choose.”
Your smile falters. “But you’re the one who won.”
He smirks, then reaches up, running his knuckles along your cheek. “Oh, I know I did. And don't think for a second I don't plan on collecting on that offer.”
You and your mouth. Stupid.
Tumblr media
After dinner at a small diner—Billy paying for you again—the two of you return to the motel and once the door has closed behind you, Billy goes to strip right in front of you.
You gasp in shock, turning your back to him. "Can you please stop doing that?"
He slips on his new pair of swim trunks. "You've already seen my ass once, sweetie. What's another time or two?"
He then comes up from behind you, pressing himself against your back and you jolt.
He leans down toward your ear. "Might want to slip your suit on, too if we're going to swim. Unless you'd rather skinny dip?"
You grab the plastic bag which houses your new two-piece and head for the bathroom.
Once you've put it on, you look over yourself in the mirror for a moment, ensuring everything is properly covered. And also mentally prepare yourself for the lewd comments you already know Billy is going to be incessantly throwing your way.
You exit the bathroom, Billy leaning back against the open doorway to your room, arms crossed and his head rolls in your direction, eyes widening.
You're wearing his favorite color—blue. Almost an exact shade-match to his Camaro. He wonders if that choice had been intentional. Your bottoms are high-waisted, but at your hips are small, thin bows, every inch of your long legs on display. The top cups your breasts perfectly, a small bow between them as well.
He wolf-whistles. Then licks his lips and says, "I'll tell you this much, honey, the water won't be the only thing making you wet tonight if I have anything to say about it."
You walk past him. "You don't."
Just as he shuts the door behind the both of you, he reaches up with both hands and undoes both ties at your neck and backside, your top slipping off. You quickly reach up, covering yourself with your hands and he snickers as he grabs your top before you get a chance to.
You stand there, mortified. "Give it back!"
He holds it up above his head. "You want it so bad, take it from me."
You glare up at him, irritation building to a boiling point.
He shrugs, turning away. "Guess you don't need it all that bad then."
Once his back is turned to you, you make a split-second decision and pants him.
He curses, dropping your top long enough to pull his bottoms back up and you grab it, jogging down the stairs to get away from him long enough to get it back on.
You reach the pool before he does and deflate when you see the sign on the gate: Night swimming strictly prohibited.
You turn to go back go to the room, deciding on just watching a movie in bed, instead, after taking a hot bath, but bump into Billy's bare chest.
"What're you doing?"
"The sign says no night swimming."
His brows furrow. "So?" He flips the lock on the gate, stepping past it.
You quickly follow after him, grabbing his arm. "Billy, stop."
He turns back to you, expression that of indifference, clearly not caring about the repercussions of his future actions.
"We could get kicked out for this. And I doubt they'd be willing to refund you for the room tonight."
Your voice is a tone of pleading.
He's silent for a moment, as if he's considering his options, then sighs. "You're right, I'm sorry."
You fill with relief, glad he's listening you for once.
Until he bends down, wrapping his arms around your knees, picking you up. You wrap your arms around his neck to prevent yourself from falling off of him backward. "Billy, what're you-"
He races toward the pool and cannonballs in, instantly submerging the both of you.
When you get above the surface, he's floating on his back, arms behind his head, flashing you a smile.
"You are such an ass."
You go to swim in the other direction, toward the steps, until you feel his strong arms wrap around you from behind. "Oh no you don't."
You squirm against him and he just laughs as you struggle, turning you around until you're chest-to-chest.
"Let go of me, I want to get out before someone catches us."
"No one's going to catch us. Can you just chill the fuck out for a second? Jesus. You're aware you're allowed to let loose every once in awhile and have fun, right? You don't have to be so uptight all the time."
You stay quiet, ignoring the feel of his hands at your hips, which then move back to wrapping around your back.
He sighs."You're not there. You don't have to act like the woman of the house anymore. You don't have to keep it together all the time with me. You can be whoever you want now; do whatever you want. No one's going to stop you."
Your eyes sting and you tell yourself it's from the chlorine. Not from him having read you so easily.
And then you relax a little."I don't know how," you say softly.
He looks at you for a moment, thinking. "What's something you've always wanted to do, but felt like you couldn't, either because of him, or because you were afraid what everyone might think?"
You search yourself for an answer, but don't come up with anything. There was no point in thinking about things you might've been able to do if you had a different life before. You didn't. You were who you were, and you made your peace with that.
You shrug. "I'm not sure."
He rubs one palm down your back. And then he smirks, and you know whatever he's come up with is going to be the worst idea anyone has ever had. "You ever been drunk before?"
You frown. "That's not really my idea of fun."
"Just answer the question."
"No, I haven't."
He grins. "Want to?"
You debate it for a moment, sure it's a foolish thing to do. Especially with him. "Not tonight..."
"Tomorrow night, then?"
You know it's an impulsive and stupid thing to do, but you know you'll never "let loose" all on your own. Because what you'd told him is true: you don't know how.
You've never had the option to do anything before but what was expected of you. Or, rather, what you expected of yourself, since your dad couldn't be relied on for nearly anything. Other than getting drunk himself. Then you worry: what if you agree, and you come to discover you have a predisposition to alcoholism yourself?
You nearly groan for over-thinking yet one more thing. Just like always.
"Okay," you reply quietly, knowing you will have all day tomorrow to change your mind if you so choose.
He smiles. "Yeah?"
"I said okay." Your fingers brush against his curls at the base of his neck.
He squeezes your hips. "I'll have to get you liquored up so I can finally take advantage of you."
You roll your eyes skyward. "I changed my mind."
"It's called a joke, sweetheart. Stop taking everything to heart."
He glances behind you then. "Shit, what're those doing over there?" He asks with a tone of flat, feigned confusion.
You turn your head to look across the pool and you feel your skin grow hot when you see your bikini bottoms floating atop the water.
You push off of him then. "You're such a perv!"
He laughs and pinches your bottom as you swim away from him to go grab them. So that's why he'd been so handsy with your hips—he'd been busy untying them.
As you put them back on, tying the bows back into place, you look back to him with a heated expression. "So you were distracting me so you could do... That."
You lays flat on his back, floating. "Maybe. But I still meant the things I said: that you need to get over yourself and have some fun. Make a couple bad decisions. Might turn out to be the best thing you've ever done."
You splash him, then get out, heading back up to the room.
Tumblr media
Once you've both bathed for the night, Billy exits the bathroom...completely naked.
You reach up, covering your eyes."Will you please stop doing that?!"
He walks around to his side of the bed. "I told you, I don't like sleeping in clothes. So from now on I won't be. Get used to it."
He crawls into bed beside you and thankfully covers up.
You lower your hands, looking at him. "You wore something last night."
"Because last night was different."
You groan. He's going to do whatever he wants. You already know you're wasting your breath arguing.
You nearly threaten to do the same, so as to give him a taste of his own medicine, then bite your tongue, knowing throwing that in his face would give him exactly what he wants.
So, instead, you lean over him smirking, your body hovering over his, your left leg between both of his and he looks up at you with a look of happy surprise. His hand comes up to cup your cheek and your smile disappears at the unexpectedly soft gesture as you awkwardly grab the TV remote from his bedside table and plop back down on your side of the bed.
You hadn't expected such a...sweet reaction. You were just doing it to lead him on and then tick him off.
And it turns out it worked when he speaks. "God, you're such a fuckin' tease. I don't buy the innocent act anymore, so don't bother with it."
You turn the TV on, flipping through the channels. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Tumblr media
Billy doesn't get what he wants when, an hour later, you're both lying down for the night, and he's under the top sheet, while you're atop it, but still under the duvet.
"Be a lot warmer if you just pressed yourself up against me again like last night."
You can't see him in the dark, and know he thus can't see you, but you roll your eyes anyway. "Go to sleep."
"I'm not tired. You could always help with that."
You feel him shifting onto his side, then feel a warm hand sliding under your nightgown. You reach down, trying to shove his hand away, but, with him being stronger than you, he just keeps pushing higher until he reaches second base. Well, sort of. His hand merely skims the soft skin beneath your breast, but you huff loudly out of irritation, turning onto your other side away from him.
"Honey, if you wanted to spoon, all you had to do was ask."
He then presses his frontside against your back and you go to get up, until he wraps an ironclad arm around your middle.
"No, that's not my pistol, before you ask. I'm just that happy to see you."
"You are so fucking obnoxious. Get off of me."
He snuggles closer to you. "Mm, I don't think I will."
He becomes quiet then, and it's only a couple minutes later before he falls asleep, exhausted from the long day.
You stay silent, not wanting to wake him and hear more inappropriate comments. So you shut your eyes, falling asleep in his arms. Reluctantly.

You were currently in your sisters room laying on her bed, thinking about why you even agreed to go in the first place. Silena was currently digging around her closet for something to wear, and let out a groan as she turned toward you.
"Y/N, this one or this one," she held up a pink dress and a nearly Identical slightly darker pink dress.
"Silena, I hate to be the one to say this, but I swear its not this serious," she rolled her eyes as she threw down the dresses and went back into her closet. "I liked the pink one though."
She kept running through her closet before pulling out a black dress, "Is this yours, I don't remember buying this?"
"Hm," you sat up and faced her examining the dress. "Did you not buy this during your secret little 'emo' phase?"
"God don't remind me," you chuckled at her embarrassment. "Suits you though, here. Maybe you can wear it later."
She tossed you the dress and she was right. It did suit you. "Maybe I can."

'Who does he think he is?' You and Silena were still in her room getting ready while she put on her 16th layer of lipgloss.
"Your gonna run out of lipgloss, and you just bought it," you said without looking up from your phone.
"I need to look as good as possible," you had to fight the urge to roll your eyes.
"My god you'll be fine. You would have guys falling at your feet even if your lips were chapped and gross."
She jokingly glared and you chuckled, suddenly the door bell ringed. You and Silena walked downstairs and saw your dad standing by the door staring at Percy, not looking very amused.
"Percy," you asked.
"Hey Y/N, I said I'd pick you up at nine didn't I?"
You looked down and saw that it was in fact, nine on the dot. "You're a punctual fella aint ya?"
"And what's going on here," you dad sternly asked. He looked between you two with an eyebrow raised.
"Well," your sister started. "Y/N here is going out, so that means so can I, right?"
"You look really good by the way," Percy interjected, earning a glare from your dad and a chuckle from your sister.
"And how were you planning me on 'picking me up,'" you used air quotes as you ignored your dad. "Did you plan on stuffing me in the basket of your bike?"
Percy looked back at his blue bike laying down in the lawn, then back at you. "Maybe I didn't think that far ahead, but its the thought that counts, no?"
You laughed at his effort. "Yeah okay, sure. Anyways I'm driving," you said as you swung your fingers around your fingers and walked out to your car.

Charles and Leo were at the party, one was drinking in peace and the other one was slowly starting to freak out. Guess who's who.
"Dude, just relax," Leo said as he tried shoving his drink into Charles face. He just moved it away with his hand.
"You don't understand me sometimes."
"Thank fucking god. I think I'd kill myself," Charles just glared at Leo, and he held his arms up in surrender. Both of them paused when they heard the front door open and Charles whipped his head around. He saw Silena walk in and he could've sworn a fly flew in his mouth. Her pink dress fit her beautifully and the way her long dark hair fell behind her made her look unreal.
"Y/Ns actually pretty hot when she tries," Leo nodded approvingly. He turned to his friend and saw him shamelessly staring at the other sister. "Dude, you look like a creep. Go talk to her."
"Your welcome," Charles clearly was not paying attention.
"The house is on fire."
"Yeah no, I got it."
"I'm literally getting my dick sucked right now."
"Cool- what," Charles turned as quick as possible and stared right a Leo.
"The house on fire gets no reaction but me getting a blowjob is absolutely outlandish??" Leo sassed.
"Can you not talk about your dick??"
"Can you focus up on your lady," Leo pointed back over to Silena, and to the slowly approaching Luke coming in from 'round the corner. "Might be time to lock in, I dunno know though, don't quote me."
Charles shrugged Leo off and went walking towards Silena. "Hey, you made it."
"Yeah thanks to you," Silena said as she continued to scan the room. She looked back at Charles and quickly looked him up and down and cleared her throat. "You clean up nice y'know."
"Yeah, you look-"
"Hey gorgeous," Luke announced from behind Silena, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "Glad your here."
Silena smiled as she thanked him and looked back at Charles. "Hey Charles, I'll see you around, alright?"
"Yeah, um. Sure," Charles watched Luke smiled at him like an asshole as he led Silena away. Charles turned back around and made his way towards Leo again.

You watched from afar as Luke made his move on your sister, sending you weird looks as he did so. God how you hated him more than anything. He was a massive douche and it bothered you to think Silena could like a guy like that, but then again, surface deep attractions all he's got going for him, and you knew your sister would hopefully find that out on her own.
You just tried to ignore it and went off to the kitchen for some shots. You saw a half filled bottle Smirnoffs and quickly secured it for yourself.
One shot. Two shot.
Then Percy walked into the kitchen. "Woah, whats the rush?"
"I only had two," you said as Percy took a shot for himself. He decided that was it if this was the way you were going to drink throughout the night. "Isn't this what I'm 'supposed' to be doing. Drinking and dancing?"
You snatched the bottle and took a third shot. You knew you should've probably stopped there, at least for now, but Luke was terribly flirting with your sister, and murder was depressingly illegal. Percy looked away for a second and when he looked back you were gone. He quickly walked around trying to look for you when he was stopped by Charles.
"Dude, we have to stop this," he said.
"Stop what," Percy asked.
"This whole thing," he waved his arms around. "She doesn't want me, she just wants him."
He looked sad and defeated, and Percy felt bad. And weirdly enough, he didn't want to stop taking you out. "Charles, do you like her or not? Is she worth this whole thing?"
"I mean, I thought so but-"
"But nothing, yes or no?"
"Yeah, yeah she is."
"Then no, this isn't over till you get the girl, and I know you can dude," Percy patted Charles shoulders and walked off to find you. He saw you across the room taking another shot, but when he went to speed walk over to you he was stopped yet again. This time, by Luke.
"God, I knew you were the right person to turn to."
"Huh," Percy turned confused, and was starting to get annoyed.
"You did the impossible, removing the stick from Y/N's ass," Luke cheered.
"Yeah whatever," Percy rolled his eyes, getting more bothered with the way people spoke about you. And before he got the chance to push Luke away and make his way back over to you, the music started blaring and cheering started getting louder, including Luke's cheering. Percy was now purely annoyed, he just wanted to make his way back over to you, hopefully stopping you from taking anymore shots.
He walked toward the center of the cheering to see you hopping on a table and dancing to the beat of the roaring music. Your body was swaying and Percy right then and there forgot that he was paid to take you here. He forgot that if it wasn't for some random guy coming up to him wanting to date your sister, he wouldn't be standing here watching you dance like there was no one in the room, like it was just you and him right now.
He wondered where'd he be right now if he had said no. Would he be home, or would he maybe have found another girl in this short time period? Probably not, but anything could happened in such a short time frame, like this. Percy thought there was something about a girl who can so brazenly insult you like it was nothing, yet still bandaged you up if you were hurt. He was quickly snapped from his daydream when you slipped from the table and fell into his arms.
"Oh, its you," you blew raspberries in his face as you went to stand up. "I'll be fine."
As you went to stand, you started stumbling back down, making Percy grab you again. "Yup, your very fine."
"Stop flirting with me Jackson," you rolled your eyes and he just laughed. He started leading you out the house, away from all the noise, and all the alcohol, so you could rest up. You've had one too many drinks and it was now time to stop. "I wanna sleep."
You two were outside, and you had wandered off and found a nearby bench to lay down on. "You shouldn't walk off like this, might get kidnapped y'know."
"Oh and you'd care? I'm only ever mean to you if you hadn't noticed."
"Well of course, you know I think I might have a thing for girls who hate me."
"As opposed to what, the girls who like you? Because I've yet to see those," Percy grabbed your arms and stood you up. He rummaged through his pockets for your keys. Percy was thankful that your dress didn't have pockets and wouldn't have to wrestle you for said keys.
"See, just like that, why have compliments when I could get insulted like there's no tomorrow" he said as he opened the door for you. He walked over to the drivers seat and when he sat down you gave him a weird look. "Yes?"
"Can you even drive?"
"Just because I don't have a car doesn't mean I don't have a license," you were still staring straight at him, looking between both his eyes.
"Your eyes are really sea-green, I really like sea-green," you smiled and Percy felt speechless. He smiled softly.
"Lets get you home."

Silena was absolutely bored out of her mind. For the past who knows who long she's been forced to taking pictures of Luke for his instagram. His excuse? 'your gorgeous hands take gorgeous pictures.'
If he called her 'gorgeous' one more time there, Silena might've shown up. She handed him back the phone as he continued to talk about himself, again. That seems to be all he ever does. 'What the hell did I ever see in him,' Silena thought.
After like 15 minutes, the party was getting stale and people were starting to leave. The two walked out together when Silena was approached by a good friend of hers, Drew.
"So Silena, ready to hit the next party," Luke asked.
"Darn," she looked down at her phone. "Gotta be home in 20 minutes."
She pretended to look disappointed when Drew quickly spoke up, "I don't have to be home till like, 2-3AM."
She boasted as Silena looked her up and down. "That settles it. Silena, this is your last shot. You coming or not?"
"Nope, I can't. Sorry," she shrugged as they quickly sped off into Luke's convertible. Silena rolled her eyes she realized she now didn't have a ride home. Looking around, the only person she saw was Charles. Despite feeling awkward for having somewhat blown him off earlier, she still approached him.
"Hey there Charles," Silena waved. He half-heartedly smiled back. "Can you, um- give me a ride home?"
Charles felt his heart slightly speed up, but still felt slightly dejected. Silena had sent the whole night with Luke, why would she not just leave with him? "Yeah, of course."
They both drove home in silence. It felt kind of awkward, then Charles had pulled up in front of the Beauregard house and parked. The two sat in silence not moving, but when Silena turned over, Charles seemed to have a face on. "Charles, is something wrong?"
"Is something wrong?"
"Well yeah-"
"No nothing. There's nothing wrong. I mean sure yeah I went through the trouble to get your sister asked out so you'd finally be able to date. But of course I did it for Luke. I did it for Luke but I literally learned how to speak French for you-"
Charles was quickly cut off by Silena leaving over and grabbing Charles face into a kiss that could've melted him on the spot. They went on for a moment before Silena went back into her seat. The two were panting before Silena spoke up.
"A whole language, just for me," she giggled, and Charles felt slightly embarrassed for having admitted to that. "I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"
He nodded as he watched Silena step out of the car, waving to him as she walked off to the front door. Charles started cheering in his car before driving off back to his own home.

It was the next Beauregard's turn to be dropped off by a man tonight.
As Percy parked your car in its normal spot in the drive way, he turned to look at you. "You still wasted or are you sobering up now?"
"I'm as sober as a judge," you declared, waving your finger in the air. You turned toward him and stared at him, reaching over and twirling a piece of his black hair between your fingers. "Your hairs soft."
You were close now. Close enough for him to smell the vodka expelling from your breathe. You looked into his eyes, and leaned slightly in. Percy thought about leaning in, but the shots on shots you took tonight made it not such a good idea.
When you noticed he didn't lean in, you felt a mix between mad and embarrassed. You quickly grabbed your keys and slammed the car door shut on your way out, running up to your house door and rushing in as fast as you could. Percy sighed as he sat back, feeling like an idiot.
One sister had a happy ending with the boy she didn't expect, and the other couldn't even get a kiss goodnight from a guy who was paid to be here (more and more everyday, he cared less and less about the money).

Trying to act normal around Joel was a bit of a struggle for you.
It was the second day of the trip and he was completely normal during breakfast—he laughed and joked with everyone, seeming a little more lively than the day before. It didn't seem like he had seen or heard anything last night. And if he did, he was being very closed—lipped about the whole thing, which you were grateful about that because you'd probably die from embarrassment.
Sarah had done the honors of waking up early and making breakfast this morning, which consisted of pancakes and eggs. It was something simple and everyone enjoyed it, meanwhile, you could hardly touch your plate. Not because the food wasn't good, but because you were too occupied with staring at Sarah's dad, the man you had fantasized about the night before. It seemed that no one was even paying attention so you assumed that no one would notice your lingering eyes.
Unbeknownst to you, Maria had quickly caught onto your crush on the older Miller brother, yet she never said anything. Not even to Tommy, her husband. She sat there quietly as she watched you watching him. She really thought nothing of it other than a simple crush and from what she could tell from Joel's stoic attitude, the feelings were not mutual. However, Maria didn't know that Joel was beginning to grow a desire for you—he could hide it better than you.
You were glad that Sarah has been too busy typing away on her phone to even pay attention.
“Y’all had fun last night?” Joel asked as he peered over at the three that went out last night, but mainly looking over at Maria.
Joel was interested in their night, but he also knew how Tommy was after a few drinks. After Tommy and Maria had gotten married, it was obvious that he matured, but he still had his moments.
“It was lots of fun—there was good live music and good drinks there,” Maria said to him as the other two just nodded their heads in agreement.
"We actually ran into Bill and Frank while we were there, they were with a friend...what was her name again?" Tommy asked as he tried to recall the unknown woman's name.
Joel didn't know much about Bill and Frank outside of the fact that they were married and lived next door. During the very brief encounter with the two yesterday, he could tell that Frank was the outgoing one out of the two and Bill was more reserved and not too keen on strangers—Joel didn't blame him, he was the same way too.
"Her name was Tess." Your father reminded Tommy as he took a quick sip of his coffee.
"Right, it was Tess!" Tommy said before speaking up again, "I think you'd like her, Joel...she's your type." he said slowly to his older brother.
This instantly piqued everyone's interest—Sarah's head had snapped up from her phone, while your eyebrows raised with surprise. Joel didn't need any convincing because he instantly shook his head after Tommy said that, letting him know that he wasn't interested.
"Oh come on, Dad!"
"You can't be serious."
"Joel!"
With these responses from Sarah, your dad, and Tommy at the same, Joel scowled at them. Meanwhile, you just sat there silently as you picked at the food on your plate with your fork. For some reason, you were happy that Joel had turned down Tommy's suggestion.
"Tommy is right, Joel, I think you and her would get along well and she's beautiful," Maria shrugged at Joel. "You should meet her and get to know her first."
He hadn't dated in a very long time and hadn't been interested in dating either. He decided that he would agree to get everyone off his back
"Fine, I'll meet her," Joel said as he put his head down and looked up at you. From the corner of Joel's eyes, he can see his daughter and Tommy high-five each other from across the table, while you looked at him with an unreadable expression.
You didn't think that he would agree that easily, but it didn't matter. You couldn't get jealous over someone who isn't yours.
"Great! Tommy and I will go over there to invite them over for this evening and we'll be sure to tell them to invite Tess," Maria winks at Joel.
Before Joel could respond, he was interrupted by Sarah's phone. it began to blow up with messages by the second. Sorry—she said as tried to silence it until eventually, the person called her, making her answer the phone before telling the person on the other line to hold on. Joel was about to scold her until she cut him off, "I gotta take this, I'll be right back. Girl problems!" she tells him with a sheepish expression as she hopped off her chair and started to loudly to talk to the person on the phone as she walked up the stairs to her room.
You all heard her yell into the phone to her friend about some boy before her words became intelligible. You stifled your laugh as you watched the look of defeat washed over Joel's face and he shook his head.
"That girl," Joel whispered, making everyone at the table laugh a bit. When he heard you laugh, he looked at you with a cocked eyebrow, and you did the same.
The split moment between the two of you was briskly intervened by your dad.
"What did you two get into last night?"
You were about to make up some bullshit lie about what you had done last night before you stopped yourself and began to internally freak out because you remembered that Joel caught you smoking weed yesterday and he could easily tell your dad right now if he wanted to. You looked over at Joel with silent pleading eyes not to tell your dad what he saw, but he just looked at you with a blank stare as he proceeded to answer your dad's question.
"Nothing really, I think this one found out there's a balcony connected to her room, you should ask her about it," Joel said before finishing the rest of his food on his plate as he looked over at you. You felt everyone turn their attention to you, making you feel like your heart felt like it was going to jump out of your chest after Joel said that.
"Oh yeah? How was it, honey?" Your dad asked.
You felt like you had the words guilty written across your forehead, lying was not your strongest suit. You looked around the table and gulped down your spit, noting how amused Joel looked as he watched you become a nervous wreck.
You realized how insane you must've looked at that moment and cleared your throat before speaking up, "it was cool," you said in a composed manner.
"It was just 'cool'?" Your dad asked you, confused by your short response.
There you go again, embarrassing yourself in front of Joel.
"I mean the view was really nice from there, I liked it a lot," you shrugged. Your dad let out a hum, letting you know he was a little more satisfied with your response, making you relax. You looked over at Joel to see him looking at you with a discreet smug look on his face.
...
You had eventually finished their breakfast, to which Joel offered to wash everyone's dishes. Your dad got up from the table with a groan as he grumbled about going to the couch to rest for a bit, while Tommy and Maria headed over to Bill and Frank's house.
You decide to help Joel bring the dishes over to the sink.
"I can help you with that," You tell Joel as placed the mugs down and stood next to him by the sink, grabbing the drying towel that sat on the counter before looking up at him
"I got this, darlin'. You go sit and relax yourself," he said reassured you, yet you made no attempt to move. You shamelessly checked out Joel, watching as he focused on the dish, not even sparing you a glance. He could feel your gaze on him, but he said nothing to you. You peaked down and saw as he gripped the plate with his strong hand as the other rubbed the soap around the plate, the suds were dripping down his wet hand.
You pushed whatever thoughts that were about to appear in your head and looked back up at Joel. "It's fine, Joel. You wash, I'll dry," You tell him. He stops scrubbing before looking back at you, letting out a sigh, and going back to what he was doing.
You said nothing to him as you dried the dishes and Joel said nothing to you as well. There was this weird, awkward tension that lingered between you two. You got a feeling that Joel wanted to say something, he was just waiting on the right time to say it. You decided to break the silence first.
"Thanks for-um-for not saying anything to my dad, by the way,"
"That was nothing, sweetheart. Didn't wanna get you in trouble," was all he said. You weren't sure what to say after that so it went back to being silent.
Joel rinsed off the plate then passed it to you before clearing his throat and speaking up. "So, uh, how'd you sleep last night?" He asked you lowly and passed the plate to you. As you open your mouth to respond and go to reach for the plate, your body stills and your words get stuck in your throat. You had registered what he had said to you.
He was so casual with his words; to anyone else in this house, it didn't seem like anything, it was just Joel asking about you. However, you both knew there was a deeper meaning.
Joel new favorite thing was making you flustered-saying things to you that would catch you off guard and just leaving you hanging. He absolutely loved it.
"Oh come one, sweetheart, I asked you a question. It would be rude not to answer me," he said teasingly as he pushed the plate toward you some more so that you could take it.
You slowly reach for it as you watched him from the corner of your eyes, afraid to even turn your head to him. "I-I slept pretty well. Wha-what about you?" You asked him. You were nervous as hell and you could feel your hands shaking, so you decided to start drying the wet plate in your hand to cover it up.
"Me too, sweetheart," he said to you. You thought that was going to be the end of that conversation, but no, he kept going. "You know what though?" He asked you before turning to face you, got close, and bent his head down slightly to catch your eyes, but never did because your eyes were laser-focused on the now dry plate in your hand. You could feel his warm body close to yours.
"I was sitting on that balcony last night and heard some strange noises comin' from your room, had t'make sure you were alright before I went to bed." He said as he began to speak you again, "but I'm sure you were too busy to notice, right, darlin'?"
Kill me, you thought to yourself, just fucking kill me.
He was right, you were too busy too notice, but you refused to admit that to Joel. Just as you were about to lie to him again, you think back to the night before when he had called you out on lying to him about smoking.
You sat the plate down with the other plates and looked up at Joel, "I don't know what you're talking about," you say innocently as you turn your head to look at him and gave a tight, faux smile, which he returned as well.
This motherfucker.
"Mmm, I'm sure you don't, sweetheart." He says before the phony smile dropped from his face as he got closer to you. Your eyes flicker over to where your dad was sitting, making sure that he didn't see what was going on, before going back to Joel's dark ones.
"But I know what I saw when I looked in that room. I saw the way you fingering that wet cunt, moaning my name," he whispered to you menacingly. You suddenly feel his damp finger gliding across the back of your arm, causing goosebumps to spread around your body. You tried to move put some distance between the two of you, but he followed. "Cummin' all over those fingers while you thought of me."
There is no way your dad's friend is admitting that he watched you finger fuck yourself, while you moaned his name at that. It didn't feel real to you.
You had yet to say anything back to Joel, so he kept going. "Made me cum so hard in my hand. I couldn't help myself, you looked so perfect touching yourself." Instantly, you gasped loudly before looking over at your dad again, and luckily he wasn't paying a lick of attention. The sound of the running water must've covered it up.
Joel's confession should've disgusted you, but it didn't—in fact, it turned you on a lot. Some sick part of you liked that he jerked off while watching you.
Finally, you had gotten the courage to speak up. "You're a sick fucking bastard, Joel," you told him as you push his arm from you and your face scrunched with false disgust. "A sick pervert," You spit out at him as you turn your body to him and point close to his face.
You refused to feed his ego, which was already inflated.
Your words did nothing to him, not even a little bit. "Oh, honey..." he said as his large hand rested on your lower back, "You were the one moanin' my name last night, but I'm the pervert? Now that ain't fair," Joel smirked.
You scoff before you speak again. "Get your hands off me now before I tell my dad."
Instead of letting you go, Joel pulls you into his body, making your hands come up to his chest so you can push away. Still, he didn't budge and kept pulling you closer to the point you could feel the hardness of his cock against your stomach.
What a sick man he is.
"Do it, baby, and I'll tell 'em all about what I saw and heard last night," he says as his hand drifts down to get a quick squeeze of your ass.
"You liked thinkin' about me fuckin' you? Makin' you squirm while you cum all over my fat cock." He whispered. You saw how Joel's eyes darkened with desire as he said this. Truthfully, it was giving you a strong indescribable feeling deep down in your stomach, reaching your core.
For a brief moment, the disgusted expression on your face faltered, your eyes had batted open and shut, and you let out a shaky sigh as you looked up at Joel—hopeful that he hadn't seen your quick moment of weakness. Except, he did. You looked back up at him only to see him deeply observing your face with a small smirk on his face as if he had just accomplished something great.
"You liked that?" He asked you cockily with his hand still resting on your ass. You just rolled your eyes at him as you tried to push yourself away from him a second time. "You like it when I talk to you like that?"
You didn't even have to answer him because he already knew the answer.
"You need to let me go before someone catches us, Joel," You tried to change the subject, but this only made his smirk bigger.
"Aw come on, sweetheart, no one is gonna see us," Joel insisted before looking over at your dad. "They're all doin' their own thing
His actions after this had caught you off guard.
You can feel his big hand trail up your body, while his other one still rested on your ass to keep you close to him; going from the back of your waist to the front and going up to your breasts, giving them a quick, firm squeeze as he cupped them over your shirt. You whimpered as you looked down at the sight between you and looked back up at him.
Joel's hand moved up again, but this time he wrapped his fingers around your neck. He loved the softness of your neck against his rough calloused hand.
His long fingers flexed around your neck, growing firmer as he held your face up at an angle just under your jaw as he bent down. "Or I can take you upstairs if you want..." Joel's grip tightened some more. "Make sure to take my time with you, darlin'," He said as your eyes nearly rolled to the back of your head. Not because of his hand around your throat—Joel made sure he wasn't choking you to death, but because of his words.
Joel had this seductive nature about him and it was obvious that he knew how to use it to his full advantage. He could probably get you to do anything he wanted.
Fuck—you couldn't believe that you were actually thinking about saying yes to Joel after the way he spoke to you. But again, there was some sick part of you that got a kick out of the way he spoke to you. You weren't exactly sure what it was about Joel that you allowed him to speak to you this way, but if this were anyone else, you were sure that you would have absolutely freaked out on them.
"Fuck, Joel," you whined as you felt him inhale the scent of your perfume that you spritzed a little below your ear earlier this morning.
"Mmm, you smell so good, baby, just wanna taste you," He murmured, taking in your scent. His mouth was so close to your neck, you wanted him to place his plush lips onto it. You wanted to feel the prickly feeling of his facial hair on your neck while he sucked, licked, and kissed it.
"Sweetheart!" You heard your dad call out, instantly pulling you out of the half-conscious state that Joel had you in. Your eyes shot wide open as quickly pushed Joel away from you, making release your neck and causing him almost fall to the ground as he stumbled back. Shit—he cursed out as he caught himself. You really didn't mean to push him that hard, but you were deathly afraid of your dad catching sight of his closest friend choking his daughter behind his back.
"Uh-yeah? I mean, yes, dad?"" You said as you scrambled to fix your clothes and make yourself seem as normal as possible. The adrenaline rush made you feel like your heart was damn near beating out of your chest and made your hands shake with fear.
"Y'all still ain't done with the dishes yet?" He asked, making you tried to voice out some lame excuse, but was unable to. Instead, all you could do was make these odd sounds.
"Anyway, you don't mind gettin' me a glass of water, do you? This damn headache won't go away," he groaned out. You felt relief at the fact that he couldn't hear the nervousness in your voice.
"N-No, I'll-uh-get it for you in a sec," You told him as you looked over at Joel. He just looked at you with a faint worrisome expression on his face—his breathing was just as hard. You gave him an apologetic look before getting the glass of water for your dad.
You made no attempt to look at Joel as you brushed past him, you were too ashamed to look his way. Your hand was still trembling as you walked over to your dad, who was sprawled out on the couch, and handed him the water.
"Here you go,"
"Thanks, sweetheart!" He gave you a weak smile before downing the water, to which you returned as well. You plopped down next to your dad on the large couch as you heard Joel shut the water off in the kitchen and shuffled his way up the stairs.
You sat there feeling guilty as your dad talked to you about whatever was on his mind.
Even though you and Joel didn't go all the way, it still wasn't right to think of him in that way or allow him to do those things to you. You decided that you were going to stop thinking about joel for good.
...
Bill and Frank were great, though Frank was a little more lively. The moment you greeted them Frank gave you a quick side hug with a bright smile on his face, which caught you be surprise, and Bill just stood awkwardly next his husband as he introduced himself to everyone.
And then there was Tess.
You along with Sarah watched the painful sight in front of you as her and Joel introduced themselves to each other. You tried not to listen to their conversation, but you were curious and you couldn't help it. They barely speaking a word to each other besides saying their names and where they were from, which made you a little happy because it meant Joel wasn't interested.
Thank god.
"Well, that was a fail," you heard Sarah say not-so quietly, making you let out a chuckle.
Then Tess came over to us, making you both straighten up. From the moment you met her, she was nothing but nice to you and Sarah. She introduced herself to the two of you, smiled, and shook your hands.
"I'm Sarah, Joel's daughter," Sarah beamed at her.
"It's nice to meet you, Sarah," Tess smiled warmly at the young girl before turning to you, "And what's your name, sweetheart?" She asked. Her calling you sweetheart caught you by surprise honestly.
"Oh, i'm Y/N...that man right there is my dad," you said as you pointed to your father who was a little behind Tess, making her laugh a bit.
"Well, it's lovely meeting you as well." She softly stroked your arm, causing you to tremble with nervousness. Just as she finished her sentence, your dad and Tommy suggested that all the older adults go and hang out in the back while there was still light, to which they all agreed.
"Hopefully I'll catch up with you girls later?" she asked. Sarah and you just nodded your head before she gave the two of you one last smile before walking to the back.
That was weird, you thought for a moment.
"Tess seems nice," you said now that the house was completely silent, making Sarah nod her head in agreement.
"Yeah, she did, too bad my dad didn't seem interested in her," she shook her head, "anyway, what do you wanna do now that it's just us?"
"Mmm," You tried to think about what you could do with her, "I think Maria has some cookie dough in the fridge, you wanna bake cookies and play card games?" You asked the young girl.
"Sure!"
The two of you walked to the kitchen—you grabbed the cookie dough from the fridge and the baking sheet from the bottom cabinet. "You mind preheating the oven?"
Sarah walked over to the oven before staring at it, confused on how to use it. "Um, I think you're gonna have to do it. I'm not sure how to even work this thing," she turned to you.
You let out a giggle as you go to preheat the oven. After you did that, you stood next to Sarah as you both began to place cookies onto the baking sheet.
"You know we're gonna have to make a lot, right?" Sarah giggles out.
"And why is that?"
"My dad is obsessed with chocolate chip cookies," She confessed to you, "he'd probably eat them all if you let him."
This made you laugh.
Joel Miller liking chocolate chip cookies came to somewhat as a surprise to you. He didn't seem like the type to enjoy sweets, but according to his daughter he did and you found it cute.
Once you two had finished putting the last pieces of cookie dough on the sheet, you picked it up and went to open the oven. "Can you put on a time for 15 minutes, please?" You asked her as you place them into the oven.
"Sure," Sarah then began the timer for the cookies right as you closed the oven.
"So what was up with that phone call you got earlier? Sounded pretty serious," you asked her as you sat down at the island next to her.
Sarah lets out a loud sigh before talking, "where do I even start," she groaned. She began to tell you all about the drama amongst her friend group—supposedly, her best friend, Lillian, got with their ex-best friend's current boyfriend and now it's a whole situation. Sometimes you would ask a question or even give your two cents about the situation.
"And you wanna know the kicker to all this? Him and Lillian used to date last year and our ex-best friend got with him while they were dating, so we kicked her out the friend group," Sarah tells you. As soon as you let out a dramatic gasp, the alarm for the fifteen minutes had went off.
You got up and went to the oven, "wait, why would Lillian get back with him again? That doesn't seem smart," You say as you grab the mits from the countertop and took the cookies out the oven.
"I don't know," Sarah sighs out, you couldn't help but to laugh at her frustration at the situation.
Teenagers are so funny.
"You guys are crazy," You tell her as you, "You should tell your friend to leave him alone, he seems like bad news,"
"I have, but she doesn't listen," Sarah said in a disappointed tone.
You just shrugged your shoulders, "cookies are done, we just gotta let them cool for a bit,"
Just as you were letting the cookies cool down, Sarah asked you about your high school experience. You began to tell her all about it—your friend group was small and you mostly stayed to yourself throughout the whole time there. You made sure to focus on your school work rather than getting wrapped up in the silly drama or with boys.
Bill walks into the house and asked where the bathroom was, which you point him to the direction where it was and he went on with his business.
A few minutes later, as you and Sarah were munching on the soft chocolate chip cookies, Bill comes back from the bathroom, "It smells delicious in here," he mumbles as he makes his way to the door.
"You can have some if you would like, Bill? We made sure to make enough for everyone," You told him as you give him a small smile.
"I shouldn't," he said reluctantly, but you quickly reassured him that he could have some if he wanted.
"Well if you insist," Bill grabs a napkin before taking two cookies and said a low thanks as he made his way outside with them.
"I bet they're all gonna come in here to get cookies," Sarah laughs as she finished up her cookie.
And she was right.
They all eventually crowded into the kitchen around the island as they devoured the cookies, nearly eating them all. In between their chews, they spoke loudly to each other.
You tried to engage in with conversation with them, but you were too busy watching Joel. You watched as he had his right arm wrapped loosely around his daughter's shoulders while the other one brought cookies up to his mouth—he looked relax right now.
And sexy too.
You didn't see that Tess was next to you until she spoke up.
"Thank you for the cookies by the way, they were really good," She said to you with a kind smile on her face as she looked at you. Her eyes lingered on your face for a little
"Oh-thanks! I-It was nothing really, we were just really bored and needed something to do," You laughed awkwardly, squirming with nervousness. You couldn't even make eye contact with her while speaking to her.
Tess made you feel nervous in ways that you couldn't describe. Not as nervous as Joel makes you, but close.
"No problem, sweetie,"
...
You were starting to fucking hate this.
Sitting here and pretending to not be affected by watching Joel flirt with the hot, older woman made you want to flip your shit.
You hated to admit it, but your dad and Tommy was right—Tess absolutely was Joel's type. She's hot, smart, a tough woman, yet she was kind, and most importantly, she is close in age to Joel. She was also kind of like the female version of Joel.
At first, there was this awkward tension between Tess and Joel that was almost hilarious to you, but it quickly dissolved as the evening progressed and the drinks began going, making it no longer funny to you.
You had to remind yourself that you decided to back off of Joel that morning, but whatever was happening between the two quickly made you forget about it.
After a little while of being around them in the kitchen after baking the cookies, you sat down on the couch to unwind for a bit. However, that quickly ended when Joel and Tess decided to join on the couch right across from you.
While everyone was still sitting around the kitchen island, listening to music and laughing, you were sipping on your beer and looking at them with no expression on your face.
You didn't even like beer, you just needed something to drink on right now.
Joel was relaxed as he spoke to her, with his muscular thighs spread wide open as he held onto the beer in between them while the other arm rested on the head of the couch. He looked so relaxed and comfortable talking to her.
Sometimes, your eyes would sweep down his body, causing you to catch sight of his pants-covered bulge. You weren't going to lie and say that you weren't looking because you absolutely were.
Next to him was Tess, she sat closely to him with her legs folded up on the couch as she faced Joel, giving him her undivided attention. They both spoke in hushed whispers to each other, occasionally letting out some laughs.
She looked so beautiful as she sat there attentively listening to Joel as she gave him a smirk and flipped her long hair to the side, giving him a view of her neck.
God, you hated how jealous this made you.
And the worst part of this all is that he hadn't given you an ounce of attention since she got here. Ever since the incident in the kitchen this morning, he was distant and didn't pay you any mind—matter-of-fact, Joel just pretended that you didn't exist and that made you even more mad. Whenever you were around, he would avoid eye contact with you.
While you were staring down Joel and Tess, Sarah had suddenly appeared next to you as she plopped down on the seat next to you.
"You alright?" She asked you as you took another sip of your beer. "You look pissed right now."
Was it that obvious? If Sarah can notice the look on your face, that meant so did everyone else.
"Oh, me? I'm good, just some boy problems back at college," You lied to Sarah so she wouldn't know the real reason you looked mad.
Okay—was all she said to you, sounding unconvinced, but didn't push any further.
"My dad and Tess look pretty comfortable now," She leaned over and whispered to you. "Never seen him this way with a woman before,"
Honestly, this didn't seem surprising to you at all.
From the way Joel seemed reluctant to even get to know Tess earlier and the awkwardness when she had gotten here made it very apparent to you. Had you not seen any of this, you would've thought that he was quite the ladies man from the way he spoke to you whenever the two of you were alone.
"Interesting," was all you said as you took a sip of your beer again.
"Anyway, you wanna go to my room and watch a movie?" Sarah asked. "I'm gettin' bored of them already," You laughed and nodded your head in agreement and began to get off the couch, still watching the two across from you. Still, Joel continued to talk to the lady without even spairing you a glance.
You let out a scoff and roll your eyes as you make your way to the steps to go upstairs.
Fuck Joel.
...
It was getting late and Sarah eventually fell asleep a some time after you started the second movie. She was knocked out cold. You were tired as well, but not fully tired to the point that you were ready for bed—you didn't feel like hanging out with everyone down stairs and you didn't feel like seeing Joel and Tess all over each other either so you decided to go to your room for the night.
Before quietly slipping out of Sarah's room, you made sure to put the blanket over her and turn off the tv. Afterwards you brushed your teeth and changed into your pajamas, which was just a tank top and your underwear, before getting into bed.
For a while, you laid in the dark and scroll through Instagram while you blasting music through your headphones. You were tired, but not fully tired to the point that you were ready for bed—you didn't feel like hanging out with everyone down stairs and you didn't feel like seeing Joel and Tess all over each other either.
You suddenly felt the vibrations of a door slamming shut and heard the muffled sounds as well, making you yank your headphones off. It almost scared you to death.
You waited a moment to hear for any sounds that might follow up after. It was silent for the most part besides the sound of Joel's heavy footsteps next door, he must be getting ready for bed. You also assumed that Bill, Frank, and Tess had went back to their place because you didn't hear the music playing downstairs anymore or the sound of them talking loudly.
You were about to put your headphones back on until you heard Joel start to talk. You thought that he must've been on the phone or talking to himself until you heard the tone of a females voice—it was Tess. You couldn't make out what they were saying, but you hear them talking back and forth to each other.
At this point, you were holding your breath as you tried to eavesdrop, completely interested as to what they were doing in Joel's room together.
Joel must've said something funny to Tess because she laughed fairly loud at whatever he said.
He isn't that funny, you begrudgingly thought to yourself.
One of them flopped down on the bed, causing the bed to creak and the headboard hit against the wall. And because the beds were on the same wall, you could hear almost everything. They continued to talk for a while until it went completely silent and the bed creaked again.
You didn't want to jump to conclusions because you weren't sure what was going on in that room and you and Joel aren't anything so it really shouldn't matter to you. You also felt weird sitting there in the dark, snooping on Joel and Tess so you decided to try and get some sleep.
You readjusted in the bed and closed your eyes—occasionally tossing and turning because it felt like there was a million thoughts going through your mind right now.
Your eyes snapped open when you heard faint sounds of the bed screeching and the headboard thumping against the wall. The sounds were unbroken until Tess lets out a low moan, causing the noise to come to an abrupt stop and Joel shushes her.
He was fucking her and you were hearing it.
Joel says something to her and the noise continues again, this time it was a little fast. Your heart was beating against your chest just as fast, if not faster. The sound of your heart beating almost muted the sounds of Joel and Tess fucking.
Joel's grunts got a little louder as Tess lets out a few fucks here and there along with a couple moans. You listen closely to the plap-plap-plap sound that were smothered by the wall.
There's no way that you were the only one hearing this because they were not quiet.
It probably would've been best if you put your headphones back on, but you couldn't bring yourself to do it. There was something about it that made you furious, yet aroused. It shouldn't have, but it did and so much to the point that you felt a throb begin to form at your core.
You needed to relieve the ache somehow and suddenly this bright idea popped into your head. You slipped your underwear off and threw them somewhere off the bed before grabbing a pillow as you get onto your knees on the bed and tucked in the sides a bit, and straddled it.
You began to steadily rocking your hips back and forth, feeling your folds grind against the pillow and the wetness spreading as you became increasingly wet, as you tried to match the pace. Quiet whimpers escaped your mouth though you were trying to stay silent.
You felt like a creep listening to them and you knew you would feel ashamed of your actions later, but right now you didn't care, you just wanted to touch yourself.
At that moment, you thought back to earlier, remembering the way that Joel sat on the couch, sprawled out as he talked to Tess. You imagined him under you, seated the same way while you were on top of him grinding against his hard cock. His warm, rough hands would be gripping at your waist underneath your tank top, as he guided your hips. One of his hands would trail up to your braless breast and cup it while he would thumb at your erect nipple.
You grab onto the headboard, picturing it was his shoulders you were holding onto.
"Feel so good, daddy," You breathed out as if he were actually under you. "Makin' me feel soo good,"
"Atta girl, you like grindin' your pussy against this cock? Huh, baby?" he would ask you before letting out a loud grunt as he tried to hold back from cumming over his stomach and between your thighs.
Goosebumps trailed down your spine as you imagined this and your hips move faster against the pillow, making the headboard hit the wall harder.
"Yes, Joel," you moaned out as if he were actually there, not even realizing how loud you were.
You assumed you weren't being loud at all, but in actuality, you were. Tess and Joel had heard everything from the moment you started. Due to the wall and the fact that you were just so caught up in your own fantasies, you couldn't even hear them talking about you.
"S-she can hear us, Joel," Tess groaned out to Joel, but not once did Joel stop his thrust. He kept going because knowing that you were pleasuring yourself turned him on.
"Yeah? Let her hear," Joel purred as he felt Tess pulse around his cock. His thrust got faster, intensifying the harsh sound of the frame striking against the neighboring wall.
Just on the other side of the wall, you were hunched over listening to them and humping against the poor pillow. "P-Please, daddy, don't stop," You shook your head as you go to grip the pillow under you so you could get more friction. You could feel the sweat dripping down your face from how intense this whole thing was, but you didn't dare to stop.
You were barely listening to Joel and Tess anymore as you were close to your orgasm.
"Don't fuckin' stop," your torso was stiff as you opened your legs wider and pushed your core down on the pillow harder. Your toes wiggled and curled as you were seconds away from cumming. You whimpered Joel mindlessly the closer you got.
You needed this badly, you need him.
"Fuck, I'm gonna cumming," was the last thing you rasped before biting down on your lip. Not once did you stop nor slowed down the thrust of your hips as you shook with pleasure. You kept going as you chased your climax, hardly even breathing.
Right after you, Joel came shortly after.
"Aw, fuck!" he grunted loudly as he held onto Tess' hips. His seed spilling into the condom. Because his thoughts were so hazy at the moment and the only thing he could think of you, he nearly moaned out your name while fucking Tess, but thankfully he stopped himself before it could roll off his tongue.
"Shit, Joel," Tess groaned, cumming around his cock. Joel stayed behind her for a moment, still holding onto her buckling hips.
Eventually, Joel pulls out and collapses next to her before pulling the condom from his cock, tying it, and sat it on the nightstand. Tess does the same. They both say nothing to each other as they lay there.
Joel wondered what you were doing now.
Meanwhile, you were still trying to catch your breath, still holding onto the headboard as you tried to calm yourself.
You heard the talking as they got out the bed and moved around the room to put on their clothes you assumed.
Finally, Joel's door opens and you can hear them walking out of the room and go down stairs.
The front door opens as they quietly exchanged a few words to each other.
Joel eventually shuts the door and makes his way back upstairs. Once again, you could hear his heavy footsteps as he trot up the steps.
You decided that once he goes back in his room, you were going to dash to the bathroom to clean up the mess you made on yourself.
You were about to get out of the bed so you could clean yourself until heard Joel's feet about to shuffle past your door before he stopped right in front of it. You sat down on the middle of the bed, waiting for him to go to his room.
Joel hesitated for a moment, contemplating whether or not he should knock on your door, but he decided to do it anyway.
Joel's hard knuckles knocks at your door making your body go stiff. You were going to pull the blanket over your body and answer him, but you decided to pretend to act like you were sleeping.
You thought that this worked until your door suddenly swung open, revealing the large outline of Joel Miller. You scrambled to pull the duvet over the bare bottom-half of your body, hoping that he didn't see anything.
He stood there a moment before speaking up. "You good, sweetheart?" Joel asked you. He obviously knew you were awake.
It took you a few seconds before you replied as you were trying to calm your beating heart after he scared you. "Yeah, i'm fine, Joel," you said, thinking that he would just fuck off and go back to his room, he didn't. Instead, he came fully walked into the room and closed the door behind himself before making his way over to the bed.
"W-What the hell are you doing, Joel?" You asked him, caught off guard that he would just come in here.
Joel was going to speak until he realized something got caught onto his slipper as he approached the edge of your bed, making him suddenly stop and look down. Because it was dark in the room, he could tell what it was, but it was obvious that it was a piece of clothing. He bends down and grabs it, feeling a slight dampness to it before coming back up and holding the material out in front of him.
Joel goes to flick on the lights and your heart flutters when you see what he was holding. You look at Joel with a panic look on your face and see that he had this surprise, yet smug expression on his face.
It was your fucking underwear that you threw off.
"Look what we have here, sweetheart," He says as he walks closer to the bed, making you clutch the duvet closer to your body. "These yours?" He asked you even though he knew the answer.
"Can you put them down, please?" You pleaded with him silently as your face burned with embarrassment. He doesn't answer you, instead he brings the damp fabric up to his nose and inhales your scent, closing his eyes as he took it in. You let out a squeak, surprised that he was doing this.
Again, if this were anyone else you'd probably be creeped out by this, but there was something about Joel that made you want him badly.
"Smells so fuckin' good," he says as he pulled them away from his nose. You just look at him, mouth agape as he opens his eyes, balls up your panties into his hand, and sits on the edge of the bed. As if your grip couldn't get any tighter, you pull at the duvet again, hoping that Joel wasn't seeing anything under it. He immediately noticed you doing this and looked at you curiously with his dark eyes, making you feel nervous.
"What's under the blanket, baby?"Joel asked as he pointed at your lap.
You shook your head and avoided eye contact with him, "please don't make me do this, Joel," you begged him again, but he didn't budge one bit.
"Oh come on. Be a good girl and show me what you're hiding under there," He said sternly. You didn't need much convincing because you quickly gave into his demand. You slowly move the blanket off of you, shaking as the feeling the air hits between your legs.
Joel groans at the sight. "Baby, look at you," his deep southern voice says so softly as he brings his warm on on top of your thigh, making your thighs clench together.
"No no no, you don't close those legs unless I tell you, you understand me?" You nodded your head and let him pull your legs open.
"So beautiful up close," He groans out. His hand moved to the inside of your thigh and slid up, making you whimper. Your core throbbed again, longing for him, but he never did.
"Touch me, daddy, please." You whispered to him, so desperately.
"Mmm, not tonight, baby," He says, while his fingers continued to tease you. "Can you do somethin' for me?" He asked softly.
"Yes, Joel," you said and nodded your head without a second thought, ready to do anything he asked you.
"I want you to show me how you were touchin' yourself when you were listenin' to me and Tess,"
You stilled once he said this, you didn't know that he heard you moaning. "W-what?"
"Don't be so surprised, girl. You weren't bein' very quiet." He teased you before speaking up again. "Now, I want you to show me,"
You sat there for a moment, embarrassed that you were about to do this in front of Joel. You grab the cum-soaked pillow before getting up onto your knees on the bed and stradling it, trying not to look at him.
"Look at me." He orders. You look at him, feeling nervous as he watched you with his intense gaze. "Now, ride the pillow. Slowly."
At first, you were reluctant as you began to slowly grind against the pillow, so embarrassed at the moment that you couldn't even enjoy the pleasure. And the look on Joel's face made you want to die.
He brings his hand onto your thigh making your stop, "Relax yourself," he mutters.
You nod your head before you let out a loud sigh. You try to calm yourself down before you lean forward, making your back arch and held onto the pillow with one hand while the other kept you up.
You began to move your hips, this time feeling a little more comfortable as you did so. You let out a weak whine as the pillow grazed against your wet clit.
"Good, darlin', go a lil faster now,"
You didn't need any convincing with that, you instantly went faster, making the bed frame to knock against the wall.
Joel's cock jumped in his pants as he watched you with greed in his eyes. He wished he could take you right there, make you weep and bite into the pillow as he pounded into your wet pussy.
"Look at ya, humping that pillow like a slut," he groaned, thinking about you riding him the same way. "You like being a slut, don't you?" Joel asked you.
"Mmhmm—I love it so f-fucking much, Joel," You moaned as you convulse on the pillow, nearly cumming.
"P-please—" was all you said. You couldn't even get the words out of your mouth as the the uncontrollable waves of pleasure passed through your body.
"Please what, baby? What do you want?" He pressed for you to continue your sentence.
"Please touch me, I need to feel you right now," You grab Joel's hand from the bed and bring it up to your breast, taking him by surprise.
Such a needy girl, Joel thought as he felt your hard nipples through the cotton. He fumbled and teased at them before pinching your nipple, making you yelp loudly and your back arch more.
"Baby, you gotta be quiet or someone will hear you." He whispered to you, trying to get you to be quiet.
Instead of just being quiet, you shook your stubbornly, closed your eyes in pleasure, and bit your lips, loving the feeling you were experiencing right now.
"I don't give a fuck," You said as you breath out a humorless chuckle, after releasing your lip from your teeth.
The way you were acting right now in front of Joel surprised him a bit—it was different than the way you were this morning, even minutes ago. He didn't mind though, not one bit. Joel actually enjoyed seeing you this way. So wild, allowing your pleasure to take over.
"Oh shit, I'm gonna cum," You gasped out.
"Yeah? You gonna cum?" Joel teased. Mmhm, you whimpered in response as he releases your breast and starts to move his hand up your shirt, starting from your hips and going up your tank top. He palms your breast again, feeling the goosebumps rise on your skin, and flicks your nipple hard.
"Come on, cum for me, sweetheart. I wanna hear you moan for me," He eagerly said as he watched your body tremble, ready to fall apart for him. Your moans got louder and louder before your breathing hitched and got caught in your throat.
You came almost immediately, your body shook and your hand went to your clit as you keep on grinding on the pillow, intensifying your orgasm. "Daddy, oh fuu-shit!" you squeaked.
"Look at you, my pretty, slutty baby. Cummin' so hard f'me," he purred, but you couldn't get out your words. You were so overwhelmed that you nearly fell over as you tried to keep yourself up, but luckily you didn't.
Joel continued to spew out teasing comments as he egged on your climax, until you eventually calmed down a bit. He removed his hand from your shirt as your slumped against the bed with exhaustion.
He let out a chuckle as you face plant into the bed before giving your back some rubs as he tried to calm you down. You were breathing heavy as your body trembled and your hips rolled against the pillow, causing you to let out a dreamy moan.
"Oh darlin', come on, get up so you can lay down right...gonna hurt your back laying like that," Joel said to you softly. You were tired as hell and on the verge of falling asleep right there, so you stayed there for a little before getting up.
Once you did get up, you fell back into the soft pillows with your eyes closed as you felt yourself relax into them.
You can feel as Joel grabbed the pillow from that you humped from between your legs. You thought that he was going to put it to the side or something, but that wasn't the case at all.
"Oh, baby, look at the mess you made," you hear him say, almost moaning. Your eyes shoot open, which you catch him running his finger through your wetness on the pillow, bringing it to his mouth, and licking it off. He groaned the moment it touches his tongue, which made your eyes widen with shock and you let out a gasp.
To Joel, you tasted as good as you smelled and he loved it.
"Joel, why would you do that?" You asked him, shocked that he would do that.
He gives you a wide smirk, making your stomach flutter with butterflies. "Why not, baby? You taste so good."
You say nothing after this, feeling flustered by his actions.
It was quiet between the two of you until you remembered that you didn't have anything on from the waist down.
You were tired, but you gathered the strength to get up from the bed.
"Where you goin', sweet girl?" Joel asked you as you made your way to your bag.
There's that name again. You loved it when he called you that.
"Just grabbin' some shorts," you looked over at Joel as you bent down to grab your shorts and put them on, feeling his eyes on you, watching you so intensely. "I can feel you watching me, Mr. Miller," you tease him.
"Mr. Miller, huh?" You turned around and made your way back to the bed to find Joel still watching you.
You just nodded your head as you plopped down onto the bed a lay down. You pat the spot next to you, trying to get him to lay down next to you, which he obviously got the hint.
"Want me to lay with you, darlin'?" He looked over to you, searching your face for permission.
You quickly nodded your head as you scoot over to make room for Joel, making him crack a small smile on his hard face.
God he looked so handsome when he smiled.
"Alright, baby."
Joel laid on his back on the pillow next to you, making readjust yourself as you snuggled into him with your head and hand resting on his chest. He wraps his arm around your shoulder, pressing you closer to his body.
You laid there listening to his steady heart beat, your heavy eyelids almost closed.
You noticed that he had all the chances to touch you, even have sex with you, yet he never did and it made you wonder why.
Before you could stop yourself, you called his name."Joel?"
"Yeah, sweetheart?" He asked
You hesitated before speaking up again, afraid of what you might hear from him, but fuck it.
"Why won't you touch me?" You asked him curiously, the sleep was audible in your voice.
He was quiet for a moment, making your wrench with rejection, until he spoke up. "One day, baby. Just not right now, okay?"
You nodded your head against his chest before answering. "Okay," You said softly, feeling somewhat content with his response, but still feeling a little rejected.
At least he didn't say never, you thought to yourself.
"Good girl, now get some sleep." He said, making you nuzzle into his chest and close your eyes, almost instantly drifting to sleep as you felt his hard body under you.

Ryoumen “i want a second son” Sukuna except he gets a feral little princess who matches his energy and is not above taking big bites of dad and only yuuji-nii can control her sksks
Eegehehe- warning- I suck at writing for girls actually😭 I’ve never had a younger sister or niece 🥹 my female cousins are literally non existent also,
Tumblr media
The doctor became nervous after your newborn started crying. The maids made quick work of taking care of everything and handing you your child already bundled up. Sukuna was just as confused before he took his child from you, carefully unfolding the blanket.
The room was silent, everyone turning to Sukuna, for a brief second your aching muscles were numb that you didn’t feel after birth. You were nervous, what happened, why didn’t anyone say anything? Sukuna held the child with two large hands supporting it, using his other two hands to carefully pull back the blanket. He didn’t lift his head, but you watched his mouth gape slightly like he wanted to say something. He turned his head slightly, settling on just looking at you through the corner of his eyes. It was a low rasp “she’s a girl,” he cleared his throat wrapping her back up. Without a doubt it was his, his pink hair, she had even taken to his red eyes like Yuji had. His fixed stare didn’t show it but he was concerned for her, even if he had wanted a second son, “Lord Sukuna we co-No.” he turned to Uraume, “It’s my child regardless if it’s a boy or not. She stays here.” He leaned back, handing you your daughter.
After everyone had cleared the room you were breastfeeding your child. Sukuna sat with arms crossed, eyes closed and his head resting back against the wall. You were staring down at your little girl and you realised, “You didn’t want a daughter because it’s going to force you to settle down.” You were grinning like a fool when you turned to look at Sukuna, he grunted not opening an eye or looking at you. “I’d be a fool to let anything happen to my daughter.”
You hummed, “If she’s anything like you I’m sure she can handle her own like Yuji when she’s older.” Sukuna opened an eye looking at you, “Anya..” you turned to look at him. “Her name is Anya.” There was no room to argue with him on that. He stood up, “I’ll bring Yuji.”
He left the room before you mocked him “oouu I’m Sukuna I’m gonna protect my daughter I’m a big bad tough guy.” You scoffed to yourself, “He doesn’t realise he’ll never hurt another child again Anya.” Leaning down you kissed her little head, and she barely opened her eyes.
—————
“hehehe” Sukuna was sitting on his throne head resting on his fist, eyes closed. You left a while ago to do something he already forgot about. Yuji wanted to go with you but Anya held him back, Anyways was an anomaly. She had no cursed energy or presence. Yet she still had the power to read minds, it was something that baffled Sukuna.
He learned she had that power at the worst time, when you were all gathered eating breakfast. When he thought about getting a collar. Anya just jumped excited “are we getting a dog like the one’s old man sells in town?!” Everyone looked concerned at Anya and she pointed at your husband with a bright smile, “Papa was thinking about buying a collar!” You looked at Sukuna “When did you- Right now! He was thinking about looking for a collar and a really good one so it doesn’t slip up or come loose.” It was the heat on your cheeks when you realised what collar he meant, but you were more concerned when you thought he was actually saying these things out loud in front of Anya.
Sukuna was looking away trying to clear his throat, ‘What the hell is this brat on about? I didn't say that shit out loud… did I?’
“OOOO PAPA SAID A BAD WORD!” Anya covered her mouth with her hands and she turned to you, your mind was drawing a blank ‘…what..what’s going on…”
Yuji was spaced out shovelling food into his face before he looked over, “Anya sit down don’t stand on the chair.” She listened to his not so demanding verse and sat down, “okay Yuji-nii.” She plopped down in her chair before perking up, “Are we getting a dog?”
Sukuna cleared his throat again looked right at her, if his hunch was right, ‘No, we’re not bringing some mangy mutt into the house’
Anya deflated and rested her chin on the table pouting, “why not?” ‘Because I said so.’ “Then why’d you say?” ‘Because I’m the owner of this house I decide what goes and comes.’ Anya sighed, getting teary eyed, trying her best to plead silently the way Yuji had taught her. Yuji snickered and he turned to you, you were sitting down whispering and asking Yuji if he knew what was going on. He explained to you that he figured out Anya could read minds not too long ago when she kept beating him in stone, parchment, shears, (please I’m sorry😭), hide and seek, and their little treasure hunting games. What he didn’t tell you was he also used her to out scam the guy who shuffles a gold token and bets money you’ll never find it.
It explained to you why Sukuna was just giving her looks and she was vocally responding.. it left you to worry how many of your thoughts she had actually heard. 😭
On a side note- here are some cannon events in the process of Anya growing up 😭😭
As a baby she was menace 🥺 she liked biting/trying to chew her dads fingers when he’d poke her cheeks. Not a cute nibble either, she’d dive in predicting the “If you eat his finger you’ll get stronger”
When she took hold of his finger the first time he was in love. That was his daughter and she meant the world to him. Then she dug her nails hard into his skin making him wince and immediately clip her nails. But when you don’t clip her nails because you're scared you’ll hurt her he always ends up with a scratched chest and hands when she’d try to take hold of something. She’s the reason he started wearing shirts even if they were uncomfortable on his massive arms 😔
Was kinda glad she didn’t sleep in the bed with both of you. She loved sleeping on his chest and Sukuna did also. But only allowed it when he could put those baby gloves on her.
After hitting age one she loved messing with Yuji and Sukuna while they were sleeping. You continuously went after her picking her up with your hand sunder her arms. She’s let out her baby screams and wiggle her body you could hear your husband’s attitude, “unhand me mother! I crave chaos! Ahahahsgsghshss!”
The older she got the more both of you learned the way Yuji admired his dad but was a total mama’s boy? It was almost the same case. Except she admired her dad.. and was a daddy girl. Yes she loved you and thought the world of you, but daddy’s so cool because he has so many cool powers! 🥺
It didn’t matter if she was sleeping in your arms, she was laughing and having the best time with you. If she even felt or heard the slightest sound, meaning Ryomen was in the room, she would scream and cry for him to pick her and take her with him. The same case as Baby Yu, you were jealous Ryo got all the attention and baby love even if they were attached to your chest most of the time.
Speaking of jealous, Yuji was the most jealous little 10 year old boy 🥹 “MY DADDY!” He’d carry Anya back to you so he could sit in HIS dads lap. Sukuna found it amusing and more often than not bullied Yuji. Which actually led to your funny little schedule where when Anya was briefly awake Yuji would be glued to your side. When Anya was asleep Yuji would run and stick to his dads side.
Sukuna has a permanent dent in his side boob where 2yo old Anya crawled over to him on your bed and then latched on, i don’t mean milk- i mean she saw a mound of flesh and went ‘nom’ He grunted and it took everything in him to not swat her instantly. He sat up after pulling her away. She was dangling by her feet clapping her hands and laughing, Sukuna was pressing his hand to his chest helping himself and cursing because no way he really let this brat catch him off guard and mess him up 😭
Which is also when it hits him, she has no presence because she has no cursed energy. He was disappointed but relieved she’d never have a reason to be caught in trouble 🥹
Here’s a little montage of moments 🥹
An invisible child means invisible crimes. Sure, Ryomen could actively tell where she was. But it’s his child he could let his guard down and close his eyes to think about the things he had to do. Breathing became slower the more he started to relax almost to napping completely.
1…2…3…4… “YUJIII NIII I GOT THE THING”
Kamutoke… she took the Kamutoke
Sukuna was going to get up and chase after her but she tripped and face planted into the shiny floors Sukuna had to pick her up and wipe off her tears and snot while telling Uraume to put up his tool because there was no doubt in his mind Yuji or Anya would kill the other with it by mistake
Anya loves her parents, but when Sukuna is thinking Sinister thoughts she runs to Yuji.
Ex. The four of you went out into the city, Anya was riding on her dad’s shoulders the way Yuji used to. She was patting away on his head when she heard the thought, “I should kill that man, I’ll start by slowly gutting him a- wwaahhhhh” followed by squirming and Anya basically jumping over knocking down Yuji. When you asked her what was wrong she said “…nothing… papa is kinda scary.”
Yuji had to piggy back her the rest of the day when she didn’t feel like walking but she sang her cute little “Family ooting” song
This is both Yuji and Anya when daddy’s home ,

..................................................................
Joel walked up the staircase of the little house that was now theirs.
Tommy agreed to take Ellie to the fireflies in the morning, and he was relieved.
He carefully climbed up the stairs, opening the master bedroom door.
Y/N was sound asleep on the bed. Joel could tell from the way she slept on top of the covers with a tissue in her hand that she had fallen asleep crying. It broke what was left of his heart knowing that he was the cause of it.
He shut the door quietly and moved to Ellie's room.
Ellie was quite awake. And angry.
"Is this really all they had to worry about?" She asked while staring at a diary from before the breakout. "It's bizarre."
Joel nodded, "Listen-"
"-Why are you here? If you're gonna ditch me, us, then ditch me."
"What exactly did you hear?"
"'I have to leave her. You have to take her.'"
"I made this decision for your own good. You're better off with Tommy. He knows the area better than I do."
"Do you give a shit about me?"
"Of course, I do."
"THEN WHAT ARE YOU SO AFRAID OF?" Ellie sat in the silence, "I'm not her, you know. Maria… she told me about Sarah-" "-Don't." Joel growled. "Don't say another word."
"I'm sorry about your daughter, Joel. But, I've lost people too."
"You don't know what loss is."
"Everyone I have ever cared for has either left me or died. Except for you and Mom. So, don't tell me I'd be better off with someone else, because the truth is.. I would just be more scared." Ellie froze, realizing she had just called Y/N Mom.
Joel sat on his thoughts. "You're right. You're not my daughter. And I sure as hell ain't your dad. And I'm goddamn sure Y/N isn't your fucking Mom. Now, come dawn, we're going our separate ways."
He turned to leave, but Ellie spoke up just barely, "What about Y/N? Are you just abandoning her, too?"
He stopped, turning around to face the girl again. "Y/N has enough in life that she won't miss us."
And he slammed the door behind him.
Y/N peered out from the doorway of her room with puffy eyes and messy hair. Her voice was soft and concerning, "…Joel?"
He left out a breath at the sound of her voice. "…what."
"Is everything okay? Is Ellie alright?"
"Ellie is just fine. She's leaving in the morning."
She tilted her head, taking another step out into the hall.
But Joel stopped her before she could go too far. "Don't. Just go back to bed."
He wished he wouldn't have seen the tears that filled her eyes as she closed the door once more.
The next morning, Y/N sat with Ellie on her bed, helping her pack her things.
"You know," Ellie sighed, "Joel said something about you yesterday… while we were fighting."
Y/N shook her head, "Let's not talk about that. Let's just enjoy what we have left with each other, yeah?"
Ellie nodded, "Alright. I like that."
They continued packing the girl up, trying to make small talk about the trip ahead of her.
"Why are you staying? Why can't you come with me?"
Y/N stood straight, "I'll be extra weight. And… as much as I want to go with you, I can't leave Joel. He needs someone just as much as you do. And you'll have Tommy."
As if on cue, a knock sounded on the bedroom door.
Y/N held her breath to see Joel.
But it was Tommy.
Y/N sighed and helped Ellie carry one of the bags, "Mind if I walk with you guys, Tommy?"
He shook his head, "I'd never mind that."
The walk was quiet and awkward.
But what made it worse was the sight at the stables.
Joel was strapping a saddle onto a horse.
Ellie grumbled, "Come to say goodbye or something?"
"No," Joel immediately replied, "I came here to steal one of these horses and go."
Y/N felt her heart drop. He was going to leave her behind like that with no remorse?
"I woulda gave you one." Tommy replied.
"I know." Joel nodded. His gaze finally moved to Y/N and his shoulders slumped just barely, not thinking that she would be there. His gaze quickly shifted from her from the guilt he felt. "Anyway, that was 30 minutes ago and I guess…"
He sighed as he approached Ellie. "You deserve a choice. I still think you'd be better off with Tommy-"
"-Let's go." Ellie replied, throwing her bag at him.
"O…Okay." Joel nodded. He sighed and turned to get the horse.
Y/N grabbed at his sleeve. Her voice was weaker than she would've liked, "What are you doing?"
He did everything he could to avoid her eye contact, "I'm taking Ellie, I guess."
"Bullshit." She reasoned, "You're gonna take me, too. You were gonna wake me up, weren't you? Before we left?"
"We?" Joel asked.
Y/N's mouth fell open and she took a step away from him. "You were… gonna leave me here?"
No one in the stable dared to say a word.
"Listen, I left you a note."
"Fuck your note, Joel Miller."
His jaw clenched. "You don't mean that."
"I fucking do. And fuck you."
"Calm down."
She scoffed and took a few steps back to give herself a moment to breathe. When her breathing went back to normal, so did her tone. "I don't understand."
"You have everything you need, here."
"But, you're not here."
Fuck, he thought. This was gonna be harder than he anticipated.
"No," he reasoned, "But you can have a life here. A good one."
"How many times do I have to say it, Joel?" She pleaded. "I don't want any run-of-the-mill life. I want a life with you. I don't give two shits what we do. You… and Ellie… that's the only family I'll ever need."
If only she knew what she was saying.
Joel fought in his head how to tell her. What to say.
If only he would've left earlier, and she would've woken up to the note.
The note that told her everything.
The one that was sitting on the coffee table in the living room, written in his scribbled handwriting- that note.
The one that said he loved her too much to make her choose. So, he was making the decision for her.
He knew she wouldn't be saying all this if she knew the truth.
But his heart was too damn selfish to tell her.
"Alright." He sighed, "Go pack your shit up. We leave in 30 minutes."
The small shred of happiness that broke through her face only tormented Joel more.
She placed a hand on his chest, "Thank you. Really. Thank you."
But Joel's eyes were looking at Tommy, whose was nodding his head slowly, taking in Joel's decision to hide the truth.
Y/N had never ridden a horse until here in Jackson, and she was nowhere near comfortable on one.
Hence, why she was on the back of Joel's.
It was nice to be this close to him. Her arms were wrapped around his waist. She could smell that overwhelming scent of sweat and pine that he could never seem to wash off.
And she knew she made the right choice in pleading.
And Joel knew he made the wrong one.
He knew the second he said okay that he was being self-centered and foolish.
But he could never deny her.
He knew that he would have to hold this secret until they returned to Jackson.
Then she could scream and cry and curse him all she wanted. And turn to her own family.
But he couldn't help but be relieved that he could share just a little more time with her.
"Wide right. You're flinchin'." Joel smiled.
"The target's too small," Ellie tried to reason.
"That target is fucking huge," Y/N smiled.
"And I'm not flinching," Ellie continued, "rifles just suck."
"Just give it." Joel muttered.
"Okay, but it doesn't aim right."
Joel smiled with a low hum. "A deep breath in, slow breath out. You squeeze the trigger like you love it. Gentle, steady, nice and slow-"
"-You gonna shoot this thing or get it pregnant?" Ellie yelled.
Y/N let out a breathy laugh, trying to mask her amusement. Ellie caught it and decided to keep pushing, "Is that how he fucking does it?"
It was Joel's turn to laugh as he watched Y/N's entire face turn a bright shade of red.
"Leave her alone," he finally said, still laughing.
"Alright." Ellie sighed, "But this isn't gonna work. It doesn't aim right."
Gunshot.
Perfect shot.
"You. Dick."
Y/N smiled again despite her red cheeks, happy to be with her little family.
She placed her hands on Joel's shoulders and leaned over him, giving him the lightest peck on the cheek.
And he couldn't help but smile, too.
"So, I've been thinking," Joel mentioned as they rode through the university, "I don't want a sheep ranch, actually. I mean… if the deal is that I can do anything?"
"Yeah," Ellie said, "That's the deal."
"Well, when I was a kid, I wanted to be a singer."
Ellie began to laugh.
He turned to her on his horse, "Why is that funny?"
She straightened up on her own, "Well, you gotta sing something now."
"No."
"Oh, Ellie," Y/N smiled, "I've heard him. It's actually pretty decent."
"Really?"
Joel looked over his shoulder at the woman, "Respectfully, sweet girl, shut the hell up. Quit telling the kid stuff."
She laughed loudly, almost falling off of the horse.
As they rode through the university in search for the fireflies, they found it to be abandoned.
Each guard station left deserted.
Finally, they tied their horses to trees and decided to take a bit on foot.
He helped Y/N down carefully, "You got your gun?"
She nodded in a worried manner.
They wandered through one of the buildings before hearing a noise.
Joel barely peaked out of the window to see four men wandering outside in search for something.
"Out the back."
The ran as quickly and as quietly as they could towards their horses. But due to their place out in the open, Joel knew they'd have to make a run for it.
"Ready?"
The girls nodded.
He led them out to the horses and began to throw their bags onto the them. But he was distracted.
"JOEL!"
He ducked in time to miss the swing of a baseball bat from one of the men. The bat broke as it hit the tree behind him.
Joel grabbed the man and head butted him harshly before putting him into a chokehold.
The sound of his neck snapping was unmistakable.
Joel dropped the body and turned to the girls to check on them.
Y/N let out a soft breath and put her hands on his chest, "You alright?"
He nodded, letting his fingers go to her hair, "Yeah… yeah?"
"Y/N…" Ellie said quietly.
She turned to look at Ellie and saw the girl's concerned gaze at Joel.
Y/N turned back to Joel and followed his gaze too.
The broken bat handle was protruding from Joel's stomach.
"Oh, fuck…"
Y/N was frozen as she looked back up to his face.
He grunted and took a hold of the handle, pulling it out with a yelp.
"Joel.. get on the horse," Ellie reprimanded.
Y/N saw the other three men approaching at a run, and it spurred her into action.
"Get him on the horse, Ellie!" She yelled.
One they got him on, Y/N pushed Ellie onto her own before getting on Joel's and riding off in the nick of time.
While Joel steered the horse, Y/N was holding her hands to the wound from behind.
She was grateful that his body was blocking the sight of his blood on her hands.
"I think we're good," Ellie finally sighed. "Joel.."
Y/N gently pushed against the man, wishing she could see his face, "Joel…?"
His pale body fell from the horse.
Y/N jumped down, as did Ellie.
They kneeled on either side of him.
Only then did Y/N see the bright red on her hands.
The way it colored the white snow around them.
"I can't…" she cried, "I can't do this, Ellie…"
"Fuck!" Ellie yelled as she tried to wake Joel. "Y/N, c'mon. You gotta help."
"I can't, Ellie. I'm not strong enough…."
"Please," Ellie pleaded, "I need you."
Her words immediately struck something in Y/N because she began to move back to Joel with determination.
She couldn't let her only family fall like this.

"should we run it again?"
i looked at nate as he removed his hat from his head to fix his hair and wipe the sweat from his forehead.
a soft groan left my lips as i pulled out my phone and began scrolling.
"if you're that annoyed, you can leave. we aren't holding you hostage or anything." chris responded, and i blinked a few times as i stuck out my tongue in response. "wow, very mature of you." chris chuckled.
i turned back to nate and hummed as i sat up, gently brushing off my pants as i stood from the dusty seat. "i'd love to keep listening. i'll just need a tylenol before i come back out. where could i find that?" i turned to nate, who nodded and smiled softly.
"there's some in my bedroom in the second drawer on the right side."
"awesome, thanks. i'll be back." i waved at them all, and made my way out of the garage and up the stairs to nate's room. my dad and his wife had definitely fallen asleep, so i made sure to stay quiet.
gently, i pushed open the door to nate's room and smiled softly at the warm and homey appearance. yes, i had been in his room, but not much, and it reminded me of my room at home in some ways. it's just very... him.
i stepped towards the drawer he mentioned and took out the pill bottle, carefully pouring two into my hand and shutting it. i set the bottle back into the drawer, but before i could leave, my eyes lingered on the extra items laying on nate's fully made bed.
after staring at it for uncomfortably long, i realized the pile was chris' belongings, as he spent the night here last night. hell, the kid practically lived here.
but what i couldn't seem to take my eyes off of was the fully opened notebook that sat against the pillows with a pen sitting between the pages.
don't do it, y/n.
but nate said chris writes amazing lyrics, and i had been curious ever since.
and last night chris wrote a ton, right?
maybe he would want a second opinion.
no he doesn't.
but curiosity.
i stepped towards the book and gently took a seat against the comforter, pulling the book into my lap and biting my lip.
upon turning to the pages with the pen tucked between, the last thing i expected to see was decent handwriting. but chris' was nice.
i stared blankly before i sighed and began reading a few of the lines.
beneath the surface, where the truth hides, lies a story of betrayal, where love dies. your words cut deep, like a jagged knife, but i'll use the pain to fuel my fight.
i'm a phoenix in the flames, rising from the ashes, broken but unbroken, as my spirit clashes. no longer chained by your deceitful game, i'll scream my truth, reclaiming my name.
i narrowed my eyes at the lyrics as i felt something in my chest turn. who hurt this kid?
i turned the pages and blinked a few times, beginning to read again.
in the silence after storms, we find peace, a fragile truce, where conflicts cease. you push me away, yet pull me near, in this tangled web-
"nate sent me to see if you got-"
i shot my head up as my eyes went wide, slamming the book shut in my lap and fully sending it behind me.
"what are you doing?" chris questioned as he stepped towards me, his eyebrows knitting closer.
i took a deep breath and quickly shook my head. "nothing," i squeaked out, as i stood up.
"were you looking through my book..?" chris questioned, but something about the tone of his voice.. i couldn't really pinpoint what he was feeling.
i had seen him jokingly upset, sure, but this was... something about his tone was so..
genuine.
"i'm sorry, it was opened, and i was just-"
"didn't you ever learn not to snoop in people's shit?" chris stated firmly as he stepped towards the book that was now on the floor. he picked it up and gently brushed it off, his bangs now covering his eyes.
i blinked a few times and frowned. "well, it was opened, and.. i don't really know, i was curious-"
chris gritted his teeth as he stepped towards me, his eyes such a pale shade of blue. i blinked a few times as our faces were now inches apart, guilt running through my body.
"there's shit in this book that i don't even let nate read, you know that?" he mumbled as he stared at me.
i felt tears in my eyes. i never really took being yelled at too well.
"keep your nose out of my personal shit, y/n. i fucking mean it."
chris stated before he grabbed his things and left nate's room.
and by his things, i mean his entire bag with his belongings.
he was going home.
i stared at the door for a few minutes as i felt myself crumble. why am i so stupid? i looked at the tylenol that was in my hand the whole time and tossed it into the trash, as my sweaty hands kind of made it all gross anyways.
i figured nate would get the hint that i had decided to go to bed, so i went to my room and bit my lip, trying to suppress the tears that threatened to escape my eyes.
carefully i shut and locked my door before laying in bed, covering my self in my blankets.
why did this bother me so much? why did chris yelling at me, genuinely, get to my head so badly?
normally, i would have snapped back and probably said something i would have regretted in response, but this was my fault. and i knew it.
i had caused chris to become angry, and that was my fault.
i shakily sighed and stared at my ceiling.
how stupid of me.
well, at least today is friday. i wouldn't have to see chris again until tuesday, unless he decided to come by again. but i doubt it. not after my snooping ass got caught reading his heartfelt lyrics.
three knocks on my door took me out of my thoughts as i lifted my head and scrambled to my feet to unlock it.
"hey," nate stated softly from the doorway, and i smiled at him. "you look fucking gross, did you end up taking anything last night? i wanted to make sure you were still alive in here."
i scoffed and looked down as i shook my head and opened the door a bit more. "mmm... sorry. i just got really tired last night and-"
"have you been crying?" nate questioned as he leaned a little closer to me, which i quickly shoved him and shook my head.
"no, i just.. haven't slept much."
"you said you were tired last night, right?"
i bit my lip as i looked down.
"y/n, what happened?" nate questioned softly, and i shrugged as i looked away.
"i um.. upset chris i think?"
i think. what are you even saying, you literally got screamed at.
"how so?" nate asked as he gently took my hand and guided me to sit down against my bed, where i did and he sat beside me to listen closely.
"uhh.. well i was getting the tylenol, and i found an open book and got curious and read it-"
"oooh y/n-" nate chuckled and shook his head. "you don't do that. but i'm sure chris will get over it."
i bit my lip and looked at him. "well, i don't know, nate. he kind of cussed me out for it."
nate's expression altered, just slightly, as he thought of chris even doing such a thing. "man, i'm sorry. i never took him as a guy to react that way." he moved to rest a hand on my back.
i quickly shook my head and smiled reassuringly. "no, there's no reason for you to apologize. it's my fault, i just think he was shocked, and i'm sure there's personal stuff in there. and i don't know him that well."
nate nodded with each thing i had mentioned, listening closely as he sighed and stood up. "well, you'll be okay. you don't have to see him again until tomorrow anyways."
"tomorrow?" i stared at nate in disbelief, my jaw now hanging.
"tomorrow." nate smiled brightly. "you get a day to yourself!"
"can you two even go a weekend without seeing one another?" i scoffed as i stood up and stretched my arms.
"not at all."
"get out." i chuckled as i pointed to the door, which nate walked towards with a cheeky smile.
chris pov
my eyes remained closed as i allowed my hat to rest over my eyes, my legs crossed and my hand against my chest as my other allowed my pointer finger and thumb to pinch the bridge of my nose.
"chris, i'm telling you. you overreacted. you need to apologize." nick stated, his eyes glued to me as i groaned and sighed deeply.
"nick, she read my book. what would she have done if i hadn't caught her?" my eyes remained closed.
"i don't know, chris, maybe she would have just set the book back down. most she would have done was told you they were well written. you want her to stick it up her ass or something?"
"nick!" i scolded, sitting up as my hat flung into my lap, my hands now rubbing my face.
"you'll regret it more and more the longer you keep this going. it'll make things worse every time you go over there. she lives there now, chris." nick stated as he scoot closer to me, rubbing my back gently.
truth was, the moment i saw this girl i was fucking in love with her.
from the way her hair looked, the way she dressed, her attitude (while it got on his nerves sometimes) was fucking adorable.
i admire the way she talks, the way she acts, and i can't stop thinking about her. genuinely.
her brother is my best friend. i never expected this cliche shit to happen to me.
"chris."
i turned to nick and sighed as i shook my head quickly. "yeah whatever," i mumbled quickly after realizing i had tuned out an entire rant from him, "i'm getting a pepsi."
y/n pov
happy saturday.
or something.
i sat at the kitchen table with my fingers in my lap. i didn't want to sit in the living room with nate and chris with the fear that chris would say something to me, or even worse look at me.
nate knew how i felt, and even told me i could go upstairs if i wanted. after all, i live here too, and it's up to me what i do, he said.
chris stood from the couch and made his way to the kitchen and opened the fridge. i kept my head down. i noticed nate leave to use the restroom and mentally started cursing at him.
this is so fucking awkward i can't take it.
"can we talk later?"
chris' voice ripped me from my aggressive thoughts towards nate and instead caused me to focus on chris.
i never really got a good look at him today.
his hair was a bit messy, but looked great. he had on a baggy tee and some baggy jeans, his converse tied loosely.
he looked great.
shut the fuck up, y/n, are you crazy?
"yeah of course," i quickly responded, and chris stared at me for a moment before nodding. he seemed unsure about something, but i quickly shrugged it off as he made his way back to the living room to sit and wait for nate to come back.
what did he have to say? was he going to scream at me more? apologize?
i shook my head and turned to my phone, where i allowed myself to doomscroll in the meantime.
the pit in my chest began to shallow with each thought and hope that chris would clear things up with me later.
and through it all, i can't seem to stop thinking about him.
this is terrible.

WEEPING ANGEL! — Megumi one-shot!
megumi fushiguro x weeping angel!reader
she/her pronouns used, misunderstood reader
Tumblr media
Megumi knew he was screwed, his time was coming to an end and he didn’t know what he did to deserve it. His life has only been misfortune after misfortune; his dad was never involved in his life, and then tried to sell him to the Zen’in clan, then he got adopted (which was a plus!), but his adopted dad got sealed despite the fact that he was the strongest.
Even though everything was going fine with Megumi’s life in terms of family and friends (his sister came out of her coma, his dad was freed, his friends force him to play Mario Party every night), by himself was a different story.
He always heard you. You were always there. He never knew what exactly you were, or what exactly you looked like, he just grew aware of the angel statue that he found everywhere he went. You were beautiful; your color was gray, your wings were magnificent, but that’s all you were, a statue… or so he thought.
It started when he was fifteen with the introduction of his friend, Yuji. They were off walking to meet up with the second-years and in the distance Megumi spotted you, a statue whose hands covered her face, with curly hair covering the parts that aren’t visible. After that moment, you followed him everywhere and he was started to grow bothered. You were more than what you led on, he searched the internet for statues like you and they were never found, you’re unique. It grew to a point where he had to ask his Father-Mentor, Gojo.
Gojo sat him down and explained the story of the L/N clan, a family created of statue-like curses, “the L/N clan takes the role of a regular statue, but in actuality, they’re planning something, Megumi.”
“What if it’s just a statue? She’s covering her face every time I see her.”
“The L/N clan, have a powerful asset, they can transport you to a different time, you can be in the 1950s when you were just here two minutes before. As a defense so they can catch their prey off-guard, they turn into stone when they’re looked at, they cover their eyes to avoid looking at each other.”
After that talk, Megumi made sure to stare as long as he could, but you never grew closer until he least expected it. Gojo was just sealed and megumi was alone in Shibuya, trying to figure out how he could possibly unseal him.
“Fushiguro~~~”
His eyes widened as your sweet voice rung in his ears.
“What will you do Fushi?~~~”
He hurriedly turned towards you, you had a big smile on your now stone-face with your eyes closed, hair sprawled around you as you were not face-to-face with Megumi.
“Why now? Out of all days?” He sighed, he raised his hand to your face, cupping it slightly. “You’re cold… what are you exactly?”
After a moment of silence he remembered, turning his back but keeping a distance between them.
“You know what I am, pretty, and I know what you are,” your back touched megumis as you interlocked your hands with his.
He pulled his hands away, “It’s been three years and you still show up, why?”
Your hands found comfort in his hair, “because you’re soooo cute~~~ I couldn’t help myself, I had to follow you,” you pouted.
“Stop putting your hands on me, I don’t know you.”
“But you could! My name is Y/N,” your arms snaked around his neck, rubbing his chest ever so slightly. “You know what I am,” you whispered in his ear, giving it a slight bite.
“You’re in the L/N clan—“
“Puh-lease, we’re angels,” a devilish smirk spread on your face, “my people are sad, we weep and weep, we were excluded from the sorcerer world because of our… unique abilities.”
“You weep? Your people are killers, you send them back in time and feast on their energy.” Megumi’s messy hair fell in front of his eyes.
“We don’t do that to everyone, we do it to enemies who attack us first, the sorcerers hate us because we’re curses, they attack us and kill us. I bet you didn’t see anything about me besides the stone, my eyes are E/C.”
“E/C?” Megumi turned his body to face the girl, her eyes were open and now we really took the chance to look at her, she wasn’t bad looking, beautiful even.
“Megumi! We found a way to free Gojo! C’mon!” Nobara yelled from down the street, “we need you!”
Megumi turned his head towards Nobara to tell her he’s on his way, but when he turned back, you were gone. A sigh escaped him as he started his plan to see you un-stoned.

Love Potion (George Weasley x Reader)
Part 1 of ?

Tumblr media
I sat at the table in the Gryffindoor common room, my head bent over a textbook as I searched for something, anything that would be of use to me. Beside me was an empty sheet of parchment with the words 'The Ethics of Love Potions' scrawled at the top of it.
I heard footsteps coming from the staircase that led up to the dorms, but I didn't look behind me to see who it was. I was too focused on getting this essay done, even though it was nearing midnight.
"What are you doing out of bed after lights out?" A voice spoke, in a horrible impression of Professor McGonnagal. A few years ago, I would be frightened by the words alone but I knew better now. I could know that voice anywhere.
"Hello Georgie," I chuckled, keeping my eyes on the textbook as the tall rehead padded along the carpeted wood floors to sit on the seat opposite mine.
"How'd you know it was me?" He asked with a cheeky smirk, his eyes twinkling in the light of the fire that was permanently alight in the common room.
I glanced up at him, before returning my gaze to the paper infront of me. "You're not the best at impressions... Fred's much better," I shrug, trying to hide my smile.
George scoffed as he leaned back in his chair crossing his arms over his chest. "No he's not. I'm much better than Fred is. Much better looking too, you kn-" he started to get annoyed as he spoke, but stopped in his tracks once he saw me trying to stifle a giggle. "You tosser," he rolled his eyes when he realised I was just messing with him.
I met the Weasley twins when I was nine years old. Our fathers worked in the ministry together and became close friends so Arthur Weasley decided to invite me and my Dad along to his family's camping trip to the lake.
As soon as we arrived, my eyes were drawn to the two boys around my age that looked exactly like eachother. They stood with their hands in their pockets, as grown ups often do, with michevious grins plastered onto their faces.
Their father introduced them as Fred and George though then, I couldn't tell which one was which.
"Do you talk?" One of them asked.
"Or just stand there staring at us?" The other one finished, tilting his head to the left as he spoke.
"I talk," I crossed my arms, trying to make myself appear tougher than I was. "And I wasn't staring at you, I was just..." my voice trailed off, as I struggled to come up with a lie.
"It's alright," one of them shrugged.
"We get it alot," the other jut in.
"It's because of our rugged good looks,"
The first raised his eyebrows.
I rolled my eyes and opened my mouth to ask what good looks he was referring to when the other one spoke again.
"Well my good looks, he's an ugly git," he spoke, nodding his head towards his identical twin brother. I laughed at the joke, watching the boy who said it closely. He had a small bump on his nose, one that separated him from his brother, and always seemed to speak second.
"Hey!" The first brother shouted, throwing a fake punch that turned into a playful brawl. Neither of them hit to hurt and it was more dramaticed than serious. They both stopped when their mother pulled them apart and scolded them, to which they just giggled about as soon as her back was turned.
By the end of the trip I had become best friends with the twins. Every weekend that followed, I begged my dad to take me to the Burrow to see them and every weekend that he said no, he'd come home from work to find George and Fred sitting in his kitchen, eating biscuits.
I loved them both dearly but George always intruiged me the most. When I was younger it was just pure fascination, a need to be close to him so that I could figure out why he seemed to always have that mischevious glint in his eye. As I grew older, these feelings of fascination turned to feelings of infatuation. My stomach seemed to flutter whenever he was around, my mind foggy when he said my name in that affectionate tone that he uses.
My love for George is a secret that I'd take to the grave. He is my best friend after all, the person who knows me best, the only one that can cheer me up when I'm feeling blue. I wouldn't fuck that up for the world
"What are you doing still up anyways? I doubt the potions essay is what's keeping you awake," I asked, closing my textbook with a sigh.
A look of fright crossed George's, usually carefree, face. "We had a potions essay?"
I let out a laugh, handing him my parchment. "Yeah, due last class tomorrow. You'd want to have a move on,"
Georges eyes scanned the parchment as he sighed in relief. "Fucking scared me there. I got a Hufflepuff to do it for me, in exchange for a pack of Puking Pastilles," he slid the parment back across the table.
I shook my head at this but said nothing, I learned long ago that any arguing with the twins over schoolwork is a waste of time.
"How come you're having trouble with it?" George asked, his gaze running over my face. "You're fucking brilliant at potions,"
I ran a hand over my face, trying to disguise the smile that was growing on my face at his compliment. It was true, I was top of the class in Potions and was the one who created the recipes for the twins' Skiving Snackboxes but hearing George say it, however, made me feel important.
"Yeah but this isn't just about making the potion, it's about debating whether it's right or not in the grand scheme of things," I rambled on, as I usually do when talking about potions. "And I don't know what to write because I've never been under the effects of a love potion,"
George laughed at this. "Really? Never been given one by a love-struck second year?" He asked with a look of joking suprise.
"No!" I rolled my eyes at his joke "Though I'm suprised neither you or Fred has asked me to brew one up to try and woo Angelina Johnstone," I chuckled.
"Me?" George asked, his eyebrows furrowed "What would I want to do with Angelina Johnstone? She's Fred's girl,"
I put my hand's up, in defence. "Just an example! I don't exactly get told about all the girls you fancy," I pointed out.
George opened his mouth to speak but then quickly shut it again, like he had decided against what he was going to say. "Fair... what are you gonna do about this essay then? Spike yourself with a love potion just to see what it's like?" he joked.
"Hardly," I sighed, looking down. "Even if I did, who would be willing to have me make a fool of myself infront of them for two hours?"
We sat in silence for a few moments, with me tracing the letters on the front cover of my potions textbook and George staring into the fireplace, his face full of thought.
"You could do it with me if you want?" George finally spoke. "I mean, you always make a fool of yourself infront of me, anyways. This wouldn't be that different,"
I almost choked on my spit at his words. "What? You're seriously considering this?" I put my hands on the table.
The boy infront of me shrugged. "Better it be your best friend than some poor, unsuspecting sod," he let out a smile. "Besides, I need something new to slag you about. I've been overusing the 'can't get a boyfriend to save your life' joke too much recently, and it's starting to become a bit mean,"
I scowl when he says that last bit, before my face drops into a look of consideration. Of course, I wouldn't get to figure out the true ethics of love potions, since I'm already in love with George without the need for anything to inhance it but... it would help me to where I stand on the use of love potions.
"Alright... let's do it,"
Yay!!! So excited to be doing a lil George miniseries

Aidlyn Oneshot
Transferring my fics to this blog
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ashlyn couldn’t stay awake in school. Her head kept dropping to her desk like she was made of metal and the table was a magnet.
These past few months of dealing with this bullshit nightmare world, she had never been so exhausted.
During lunch, she sat with the others. They didn’t look much better. Well, except Aiden, of course. She wondered if he chugged energy drinks or if he was just always like this. She really hoped it was the former, because the idea of him always managing to be like this pissed her off.
“Ok, so..” Tyler said, pinching his brow. “We need to get more ammo.. Ashlyn, your dad got that covered?”
She simply nodded in response before she sighed and rubbed her head and stood up. “I’m gonna go get another bottle of water..” she mumbled.
Aiden also got up. “I will too!” He said happily.
She scowled at him, but she was too tired to say anything. Things had been a little.. strange between the two of them after Aiden had saved her from that phantom on the rooftop. He had been so much softer and.. touchy (well, he was already very touchy, but he seemed to have amped it up to 11). And with the whole ‘Tyler on the hospital’ thing, they hadn’t really had anytime to fully process that night, except for that one time they talked and Aiden had reached out to touch her face, which was very weird to her. She didn’t really know how to act around him now.
She wanted to still hate him, but she knew that he had a soft spot, and that made him more.. endearing. Ugh.. she did not want to think of Aiden like that..
She grabbed a bottled water from the school concession stand. Aiden did not.
“Aren’t you going to get a water?” She asked him hoarsely.
“Hmmm.. I’m not thirsty!” He said cheerfully.
She stared at him, wanting to thump his forehead. But she decided he wasn’t worth the effort.
“Then why did you follow me here?” She grumbled.
He glanced at her and then looked around and then back at her. “Come with me.”
She was about to object, but she didn’t get the chance as he walked ahead of her.
Part of her was just wanting to ignore him and walk back to the table. But she found herself following him. They entered a cleared out hallway, no students around.
“What is it?” She asked.
He opened a locker, his locker, and pulled out a can of coffee.
“I snuck out during 3rd period to get you this!” He said with a jovial smile.
She was caught off guard. She took the coffee, happy it wasn’t an energy drink (she hates those things).
It was a black coffee too. Aiden must know she hates all that sweetener.
“But.. why?”
He laughed and scratched his head. “Because you’ve looked absolutely dead. Well, more dead than you usually do, haha!”
She nearly crushed the can in her hands.
He laughed and quickly shook his head. “Sorry, sorry! Nooooot funny.”
The two stood there for a moment, unsure of what to say.
“Hey, um..” he started. “I just want you to know.. you’re doing great..”
She’s surprised by his sudden soft attitude. He used to rarely ever be like this.. so genuine. Then again, she rarely is ever, so maybe she’s a tad jealous that it’s been getting easier for him..
She opened the coffee can and hesitated to respond. She was unsure of what to say. “Thank you”? “Well, I try”? “I know I am”?
She bit her lip, thinking, before blurting out “It’s just my job as the leader..”
He seems surprised and she silently cursed to herself for just speaking without thinking.
He shook his head. “I didn’t mean in the dream world. I think you already know you’re amazing there. I mean.. in our day to day lives..”
“Hm..?”
He hesitated before slapping on that normal smile of his. Fake and creepy.
“Forget about it! Cmon, the others are probably wondering what’s taking us so long!”
He walked ahead of her. She didn’t follow immediately. She stared at the coffee and clutched it in her hands.
Why is this so hard for me? It seems easier for him..
But.. little did Ashlyn know that Aiden was just as clueless about friendship as she was.
————————————————————
Aiden walked back to the lunch table, quietly scolding himself.
Why can’t you just say what you’re thinking?! All these words I want to say are so much easier to say in my head!
He reached the table and everyone looked at him curiously.
“Where’s Ashlyn?” Taylor asked.
“She’s coming,” he said, resting his chin on his hand.
And sure enough, Ashlyn arrived, taking her spot again.
“What took you guys so long?” Tyler asked.
“Just bestie things!” Aiden said happily. He was glad he was so good at concealing his feelings and that no one knew how absolutely embarrassed he was about the interaction he just had with his crush.
Ashlyn stared at him with mild contempt before turning away from the others to drink her coffee.
He really wished he could eloquently say what he thought.
He wanted to tell her he liked that way her red hair fell into her face when she turned away during an awkward situation. He wanted to tell her he thought her super hearing was super rad, but how he also was willing to take her to a quiet place if it got too overwhelming. He wanted to tell her he thought it was badass how she could smash things with a single kick.
But most of all..
He wanted to tell her she wasn’t alone.
And after the Tyler incident, she’s seemed even more closed off and guilt ridden than usual.
He sighed. His friends turned to him, wondering what’s got him so daydreamy. He just smiled at them and they decided to forget it.
Well..
Maybe one day he could find the words.
But it certainly won’t be anytime soon.
Ashlyn’s got her own problems to worry about.
So, he’ll just stand next to her and support her throughout everything. Even if she wants to do it all alone.
After all… he can’t let his best friend carry so much on her shoulders!
