AU where Timoteo actually is a kind father/grandfather, none of the Vongola brothers die, and they discover Tsuanyoshi early on and take him under their wing.

In this world, the question of inheritance is not a competition. It's a game of hot-potato.

Enrico prefers being a field commander, and doesn't want the paperwork that comes with Don Vongola's desk.

Massimo is shy and prefers math - becoming Don Vongola is not his idea of a good time, and anyways, he's secretly in the middle of getting a PhD at a civilian university. He's got stuff he'd much rather spend time on over being Don.

Federico, through a convoluted series of unlikely events, has a fake identity as an advisor in a distant but allied family. Being Don Vongola would out him, and would cause a HUGE scandal, and would make it impossible for him to continue on in the advisor role, and he really likes the job, okay, and he's not in love with Donna Claudia di Santini, shut up.

Xanxus, of course, wants to lead the Varia, not the main family.

Tsuna doesn't want to touch the responsibility and the life-and-death decision-making that comes with being Don Vongola, not even with a ten-foot pole.

So. The Vongola Rings become the figurative hot potato, and they are each desperately trying to make sure one of the others ends up holding it when the music stops.

Of course, none of them are going to try and make themselves look like bad heirs, because that would reflect poorly on the family, and cause their aging father too much stress.

Cue shenanigans where they try to make each other look like the perfect, ideal, flawless crown prince for Timoteo to pick. Impersonating each other and forging each other's signature while doing philanthropic deeds in service of the family becomes second-nature.

(As a side effect, there is mass confusion about what the Vongola princes look like. Sometimes, the five have to work together in extraordinarily stupid ways to keep anyone from realizing what's going on.)

(Jokes on them: At a certain point, they all prove they'd be wonderful bosses by trying to frame their brothers for it.)

(In the end, Tsuanyoshi loses. It's an unfortunate side-effect of being the youngest, and therefore the most ganged-up on.)

One day, someone asks what Bel's doing with the Varia because, he's what, two years their senior? Nineteen at the oldest.

Kinda weird to look at.

It's mostly half-hearted and thrown out while half-asleep.

Tsuna: He's their collective son.

Classmate: ...I'm sorry, what.

Tsuna: Their collective son, none of them will admit to it, but that's the dynamic half the time. He's even got a little brother waiting for him in the wings.

[Somewhere in Italy or France, Fran feels DEEPLY offended and a little vindicated.]

Somewhere the Varia all collectively sit up like the Undertaker and decide they need to kick their baby-boss’ ass at that exact moment and none of them know why. Tsuna definitely wakes up in the morning with his intuition setting off sirens in his head because they are coming for his ass.

(It doesn’t make the statement any less true. They are very much the village that raises the child and are now sharing custody of a new child with Mukuro and his group.)

So I was thinking about the Varia, and them calling out their attacks, Because most of them…. don't do that. or at least not often.

I don't know about the anime because my god am i not going through to check that that's so many episodes to watch.

But in the manga there is a total of ONE time when Squalo actually calls out one of his moves himself (in fact in the manga we actually learn all his move names from his team mates because he sure as hell doesn't say them once. In the manga this is the only reason we know they even HAVE names.) Which is when he is coordinating a team attack with Bel, Levi, and Lussuria against Enma.

And at that point means he may only name them for specifically for strategic methods so his team mates know what he's doing so they don't end up maiming each other.

This is also something to be noted to be shared with Lussuria, with his only named attack being in that one group attack with Enma.

Meanwhile Levi and Xanxus are the exception to the "We mostly don't do that" as they do this the most frequently out of all of the Varia.

Levi does so at almost every opportunity. But then again, you look at most of his named moves and it kind of makes sense. If you accidentally walked into the area where he was doing any of those attacks, you may end up completely fried. But he does so with moves that will generally not be helpful to his team mates to know, perhaps it being way too much of a habit at this point for him not to do that with just about everything or the fact that he's almost always vying for attention. Which is likely to his deficit but it's not uncommon for Levi to shoot himself in the foot.

Xanxus makes sense more sense with this knowledge as if you aren't fucking prepared to run you may as well be dust, however his use of them are fairly inconsistent, meaning he doesn't actually care so much about who actually knows what he's doing. Though the use of the names almost feels like it's a promise of death when they are used. Like "you know what's coming and there is NOTHING you can do about it." he typically only calls them out before what will be a direct hit, so it's almost like he waits until he's certain there were will be an almost 100% shot of him actually hitting the attack to choose if he's actually going to call it out.

Someone who probably SHOULD use the name of his attacks is Bel, due to just how much it controls the field, and would be so easy to shred his team mates, but out of laziness/apathy simply doesn't. The only time he calls it out beforehand is also when he's coordinating attacks. Either with Levi in future arc, or when they were attacking Enma. It seems though the actual names of his attacks otherwise, like with Mink's attack that shows up after preformed are actually only flavour text for our sake and not something he actually says, unlike the others who we get their named attacks through someone or themself saying them.

Mammon is interesting, because the vast majority of their attacks have no names even during their battle the most they call out is "Illusion!", which you think would probably be very very bad for the Varia since illusions affect so very much around them. Until you remember, none of them gave a shit about the illusions they were seeing, that knowing that it's an illusion is probably all they actually need. However when they get their curse unbroken it's much more consistent, taking time to make sure even their team mates know that they're also in danger of Mirage V. Though it's likely more that the ones like Oroborus fall into a more similar vein of them purposely trying to add flare to attacks now that they're at full power and are fighting against someone they kind of feel like they NEED to overshadow.

Now if only Fran actually fought.

This is very much partial speculation of intention due to frequency so, you know how it is. I just think these are kind of interesting things, especially when I notice a lot of people when writing Squalo usually have him call out the attack names himself.

Not many general headcanons make it into my work because I tend to write about specific concepts, so this was fun!

I love all interpretations of the XS timeline, but I don't think they were together during the story's canon. Post-canon and I can see an argument for the TYL arc. Extremely dubious on anything pre-cradle affair.

Xanxus is absolutely the jealous type, but he won't address it in a practical way. He's known to cling to his possessions, right?

On that note - Dino, count your days.

Xanxus is very much into Squalo's hair. If he can touch it, he will, whether that's a pleasant touch or not.

Besta likes Squalo the most after Xanxus himself, and will try to smother him and kiss him, which Xanxus ignores like he's getting paid for it.

It's a private relationship, for several reasons. Not many people know about it, and if they do, they're not going to comment on it lest they want to part ways with their face.

Except for Luss, of course, who bombards Squalo with dumb questions when they have downtime, none of which are answered. That 101 battles was ROUGH.

No pet names other than the usual insults that probablyyy count as pet names. But don't tell them I said that.

Xanxus runs warm because of his flame (why he can run around half shirtless), and Squalo runs cold (why he wears fur and coats and earmuffs all the time!) The ideal temperature equilibrium for cuddling.

This is canon, but Xanxus is overall calmer when Squalo is around HQ.

Squalo finds Xanxus' scars attractive as they relate to his rage, but he wouldn't mention it because of the sore topic. If Xanxus ever lost control over his scars in a sexual context, well....

Squalo has had feelings for Xanxus since the beginning. He must've been pretty convinced things were going to work out, huh? When you know you know etc. etc.

Xanxus has some Avengers level threat internalized homophobia. His whole complex is over being heir to the Vongola, and part of that role is having a family and children, so being with a man would be really hard for him to comes to terms with. Also, the stereotypes of gay men that he'd be acquainted with go against the persona he's made for himself.

In effect, it's really hard for him to be openly affectionate. Queue glass throwing and hair pulling.

SAME TANGENT because I see this way too much but these two could not be a casual FWB situation given Xanxus' complex.

Okay so this is based on the inheritance ceremony where Timoteo is a little bitch to Squalo for no reason. THOSE TWO BEEF LIKE CRAZY IN THE MOST PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE "IN LAWS" WAY POSSIBLE. Squalo obviously dislikes him because he ruined Xanxus' life and is dismissive of the Varia as a whole, Timoteo dislikes him because he thinks he's trying to get with his son and go against what a right hand man is supposed to be.

If there's one thing that's going to fluster (fluster!?) Varia Captain and Sword Emperor Superbia Squalo, it's going to be Xanxus. Squalo never expected to get this far, so when he spends his life in respectful admiration and is suddenly getting bombarded with what would otherwise be normal couple behavior, he doesn't know what to do.

Xanxus pretends to be unaware of the effect he has, but definitely knows and extorts it because it's cute

About Ottabio being the Cloud Guardian, I have almost never seen that take. All I've seen is that Ottabio is the Cloud OFFICER, not Guardian. I agree with that, too. There wasn't nearly enough Rage from Xanxus when he talks about Ottabio. Like, the Varia hate him because he betrayed his Boss and got him Iced but not the Loathing I'd expect from him betraying Xanxus. Since the entire Fandom agrees that Harmonizing is a Thing, even if Canon never gave us that, that would have been a soul deep betrayal. Like on Nono's level.

What I've always been exposed to is that he was good enough at making sure the Clouds did their jobs and wrote a report on it but not talented, strong or smart enough for Xanxus to consider him for more.

Also, the opinion was that the Good Clouds all saw the pain in the butt job and bailed. Like they didn't want to wrangle other Clouds. I mean, just look at Hibari or Skull. Neither of them would want that responsibility and would leave entirely. Those 2 are just lucky that they're strong enough and geographically and familially lucky enough to escape being pressganged into a Family when they're at their weakest. Whereas the rest of the Italian Clouds need be to under someone's banner before they're forced into one. The Varia happens to encourage their violent tendencies so there should be Good Clouds Xanxus would like.

I think he never had a Cloud Guardian because none of them have stepped up to control the territory. Xanxus is the Boss. His Elements have to be ready to Step Up and since none of the Clouds he would have been willing to consider never took that step, he won't consider them in turn.

The only one that did step up wasn't qualified enough for Xanxus. Ottabio did the job so he was enough for the Officer position but not the Guardian one. Xanxus is Particular about his Guardians. Varia is a place for the Best which shows how good his Guardians are to be the Officers as well.

Varia is HC'd to be Survival of the Fittest, so if someone doesn't like you having the job, if they can kill/beat you, they get the job. So with Xanxus's Guardians all running their divisions, it shows that they are Very Good. Of course, there's always allowances for people who just don't want the jobs or just aren't suitable to the position but may be stronger. But his Guardians all run their divisions smoothly enough that there's no gossip about them being bad at it. (Umei no Mai's Black Sky shows good examples of this and is now the only way I can see the Varia operating. She also has fascinating theories on how Flames effect others, and might explain a bit of Nono's Everything and also has a Galaxy Brain Take on Giotto (and Alaude by extension). It's so freaking good.

And about Nono's betrayal being soul deep, I Highly Recommend that you read Hidden Sky by Sefiru. (I actually have the title AND the author memorized for this. That tells you it's good enough to Remember so you can look it up whenever.) It brings up such an amazing idea about Xanxus and a peek at what made the Cradle Affair happen (the Flame side of it, I mean). Also it has poly Tsuna, amazing PoVs, actually SHOWS how Skies are treated as Royalty, not just has people respecting a Sky (PoVs of Flame Actives in Namimori reacting to Tsuna, it was so clear how highly Tsuna was regarded and then they MET him) and Hana squaring off with the Vindice (Iconic).

Since I'm ranting about Clouds, I'm going to keep going. I hate that everyone says that Clouds are Lone Wolves. Like, statistically, yes some probably are, but Every Cloud we see is part of a Community. Whether they're the Leader of it (Hibari, Skull) or a Follower (Visconti), they are always connected with others.

Hibari is Obviously a Leader but I Swear Skull is, too. This HC will Never change. Cause this is a travelling stuntsman. The World's Greatest who does his own shows. That means he needs a Crew. People to rent venues, advertise, do the finances, his mechanics (for during the show to keep things moving, otherwise I HC Skull taking care of his bikes), the Run Around Agent (thanks, Serifu) and whoever is Skull's Right Hand to pass on Skull's orders. (I'm going to do a stunt here and this is what I'll do. Ok, Skull, I'll order/build the equipment, rent the venue, let everyone know you're performing, etc. Right Hand then makes the calls to his minions.) Because I can't believe that Skull wouldn't rigorously maintain his Crew since they are needed to let him break physics and go against the supposed laws of nature. His stunts should be impossible. I HC that as that being what Skull fights against, not people (no offense, Hibari). Also, I low-key HC the Carcassa Famiglia is Skull's Crew dressing up as Mafia to that Skull has his own banner to be under, otherwise people would be Stupid enough to keep bothering Skull since he's just a Civilian pushover. This way, if someone wants to hire Skull, they'll contact the Carcassa's and his Run Around Agent will "Lose" the requests. So Skull isn't having to fight off recruitment all the time.

Another Highly Recommended fic is Karmic Balance by Sanjuno. KHR/Naruto cover where Kakashi and Obito are reborn in KHR and break the patterns of Fate. The 10th Gen are taught to be BAMF ninjas and break off the worst of their character traits (ie Hana's misandy, Gokudera's Issues since he's taken in early enough, Hibari's disdain for everyone/thing(I love him but I would hate/fear him if I ever met him)). The idea of Clouds being Pack Animals became crystal clear to me in this. Through Kakashi's Summons, of all things. But so many subtle HCs that I had subconsciously thought but never articulated about both Fandoms were spelled out so clearly, it was amazing.

Thinking about how I’ve been calling it the future that never happened but it did. It did happen and it won’t disappear just because the main timeline managed to avoid it. For the ones who lived in that future, it will still continue when their past selves are no longer there.

Uni and Gamma are still dead.

Tsuyoshi is still dead.

Irie is left to pick up the pieces of a relationship that made him the happiest in the world but almost destroyed it. He’s left to grapple with the only reason this crazy, insane, ridiculous plan even worked is because he loves Byakuran enough to kill him and Byakuran loved him too much to hurt him.

Mammon returns to the Varia, not expecting anything. Not really. He was weak and he died.

They make him their new accountant and tell him that as soon as Fran kicks the bucket the position is his again.

Belphegor in particular is insufferable about invading his space and worst of all? Mammon lets him

What if Kawahira was a shinigami who stole weapons (i.e. the pacifiers) from the Soul King's Palace, lost control of them, and then implemented the Arcobaleno system to cover up his fuck-up.

What if, somehow, Yuzu got roped into flame-society shenanigans. As a sky, of course. (Look, she's a Kurosaki. She's Ichigo's little sister. Karin's twin! She's not going to be normal. She absolutely could end up running a magical crime-syndicate, commanding immense respect and adoration.)

Ichigo and the Urahara-shop gang are just on the sidelines, cheering Yuzu on.

The flame users who interact with the Urahara-shop gang don't really peg Urahara and Yoruichi as threats, because while Reborn and the Varia and such are good, they're not centuries-old onmitsukido good. Kisuke and Yoruichi know how to pretend to be harmless, and they find it really funny when people not in the know look down on them for being weak.

One day, Yuzu and the Urahara-shop gang are in a meeting with the Vongola and Arcobaleno. Kawahira drops in to be ominous and dispense a quest to Tsuna.

Kawahira takes one look at who's in the room, and tries to flee.

Kisuke is on him in a heart-beat, faster than any human in the room can track, pinning him to the floor with Benihime at his throat.

None of the flame-users know where tf the sword came from.

"Kawahira-kun!" Yoruichi exclaims, delighted. "What a surprise! We've been looking for you for so long."

A heartbeat. "Kisuke, darling," she says, and suddenly she seems very dangerous. "Take him to the maggot's nest, will you?"

Kisuke looks at her and grins.

And then Kisuke and Kawahira vanish, gone in shunpo far too fast for a non-shinigami to comprehend.

Can you imagine Reborn's reaction? The rest of the Arcobaleno? The Varia, who got a taste of Kisuke's bloodlust for like, half a second?

Man, I need this fic. Let me know when it manifests spontaneously. Surely a monkey on a typewriter will produce it soon.... aaaaannnny moment now...

I'm a firm believer in sky harmony puppy piles so I imagine 1-A would get used to finding the khr kids sleeping in piles together, but it would still be really weird to find the scary-as-fuck Varia and seemingly-friendly-but-suspicious Dino join them.

Also if this habit spreads to the rest of the class...

No one can really believe it the first time they see the Rehabilitation class (with the exception of Hibari who was seemingly asleep a few feet away) all pile together and cling to each other. Even Mukuro who was frankly terrifying seemed content where he was curled around Chrome with Tsuna pressed against his other side. They learn pretty quickly, however, just to accept it particularly after Denki accidentally woke Tsuna up the first time and would have been bitten to death by Hibari if Aizawa hadn’t been faster.

The kids that occasionally follow Tsuna and the others to school are no real surprise. Lambo and I-Pin are always clingy whenever they are around and Futa always greets his Tsuna-nii with a hug.

What is a surprise is when the weird adults start joining.

Dino isnt so bad. He is nice at least. Sometimes it feels like that smile is a little too perfect, to practices, but it’s hard to see him as much of a threat when he shows everyone his pet turtle that he just… carries on him and trips over thin air. It’s still a bit strange to see a grown man curled up and napping with a group of teenagers but Tsuna really does claim him as a brother whenever anyone asks so maybe they’re just close?

No it’s Tsuna’s… other siblings that are the really strange ones. The first time Xanxus stormed into a classroom he pulled a gun on Tsuna and nearly caused a riot of overprotective Herolings trying to save one of their own. The next time any of them saw him he had all but scuffed Tsuna like an errant kitten and tugged him over to his equally terrifying… friends? Gang? Fellow villains? And promptly laid down for a nap holding onto Tsuna like a teddy bear. Tsuna only sighs, seemingly resigned to his fate, and wiggles around until his head is on the stomach of the weird silver haired guy that tried to stab Takeshi and his legs are tossed over the lap of the person who gave Ryohei a concussion in an impromptu “spar”.

None of them really know what to make of it really. They wonder if it’s a vigilante thing no one is brave enough to ask

This image is actually really funny to me, like the vibe of the image of the whole is supposed to be intimidating, but instead of that, most of the Varia in this image look fucking miserable, there is not a single happy camper in this image. Like Bel over here looks like(and probably is tbh) a kid that was forced to wear his best for a picture and that he has to wear it nice and proper or else. Who is forcing them to do this. Whoever they are they have a lot of power to make bel, and xanxus wear their coats properly, i highly doubt it was anyone in this picture because none of them look like they want to be there.

HeELLOOOOO good here I bring you a drawing of the kids with my HC, of when they break up because they think they are only together for the asian girls and they are on good terms, but in reality they miss each other, at first they thought it was just a feeling of the habit of being together, but in the end w was something bigger because both had fallen in love, but none of them risked talking about it for fear of making the other one uncomfortable, But one day, thanks to a Tolkien party (thrown by Clyde) Stan and Kenny spiked the drinks and after a while they arrived with their respective friends, Tweek was more resistant to alcohol, but Craig was not, but Craig is not and after having several drinks and being drunk he goes out to get some fresh air but what he did not expect was to see Tweek and they start talking normally about their life until they talk about their relationship and suddenly Craig by impulse tells him everything he feels and how much he misses him, Tweek is surprised and gets happy because he knows that craig corresponds to him and they will be very sweet during the rest of the party.

The Legendary Power Suit

You ever noticed those big shoulders Samus is always sporting on her suit? Yeah, I bet you have. It's basically her most iconic feature. It gives her an unmistakable silhouette.

But Samus isn't always portrayed with the big shoulders. Sometimes she has these flat shoulder pads instead, usually in the most basic form of her suit with no upgrades.

So what's the difference? I know, she always gets the shoulders as part of her Varia Suit upgrade, right? That makes sen- uhhh wait a sec, the Varia Suit in Zero Mission is just a recolor with the same flat shoulder pads. So what's the pattern then?

In other games released before ZM (Metroid II, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime), Samus seems to receive the round shoulders as part of her Varia Suit upgrade. This does not happen in Zero Mission, and Zero Mission is also the first game to attempt to explain where Samus's iconic suit design originates from in canon.

We can assume that when Samus received her power suit from the Chozo, they gave her a standard, modern model, tailored to her human physiology. Besides the fact that it was custom made for her, I imagine there's nothing too special about it. She was equipped with the standard tools of a Chozo warrior. And during her adventure in Zero Mission, she even finds the Varia upgrade, a heat and damage shield that gets added to her suit but doesn't drastically change its appearance.

At the end of Zero Mission, however, Samus is shot down in her ship by Space Pirates, and her power suit fails in the process, leaving her vulnerable. You may recall she needs to battle the Ruins Test in Chozodia in order to get her suit back... but this isn't the same as the suit she lost. This is something special.

Defeating the Ruins Test appears to be a sacred rite of passage that awards the challenger with the Legendary Power Suit, a tool of ancient Chozo design, even more powerful than Samus's old suit. It even allows her to interface with ancient upgrades that were incompatible with her suit of modern design. And most notably, the Legendary Power Suit features the large round shoulders that are iconic to Samus's appearance. This is the first time she dons her most well known suit!

From this point on, Samus completes her adventures wearing the armor of the ancient Chozo, a relic from a dying culture reserved for only the bravest warriors. We see evidence in other games that the large round shoulders are a symbol of Chozo warriors, in murals and statues.

Since Metroid Dread, we have gotten to see other Chozo Warriors in action, and interestingly, none of their suits share the appearance of the Legendary Power Suit. I can only assume that as long as the Chozo still live, their culture changes over time, and different suit designs come into fashion in modern times.

Imagine how someone like Raven Beak must feel seeing Samus roll up with her big bulky shoulders, a symbol of a bygone time in Chozo history. It must be like showing up to a wrestling match where your opponent is decked out in full medieval plate armor!

Kyoko by Discoabc. Slight AU, SI/OC Kyoko. The fact that the author was able to balance a ridiculous amount of OC AND the KHR cast is insane. Most of their interpretations of the main cast was quite original at the time of reading. ( My fav was Bel’s for spoilers reasons). The plot twists were phenomenal.

My heavenly judgement by Colbub. I have seen this recommendation in another’s so I won’t repeat this, but I seconded the recs. Kyoya x Alice gang rised up 😭😭😭

When Pigs fly by Nerro. It has been sometimes since I read this one, so the finer details have escaped me. But I remember having a really good time reading this lmao. Dino x OC, AU (?), completed, mostly romcom shenanigans.

Confession of A Teenage Hitman by Fish and Chipz. Same as above, finer details have escaped me but I had fun reading. Hibari x Hitman!OC, also w romcom(?) shenanigans, but the a reviewer did said they bailed their eyes out reading so take that as you will

Parallel Fate by Stop’nGo Girl. Dino x Isekai!OC, quite wholesome and healing. OC got switched with their parallel self in the KHR universe and must adapt to their life, despite being total opposite.

Prince Belphegor’s Guide to Parenting by AllThingsVaria. KHR x HP crossover with FEHarry (adopted by Bel and made royalty). This was as adorable as a Varia-adopts-child fic can be, with a lot of insanity sprinkle in. The sequel, Princess Hel’s guide to School, promised to fuck the Wizarding World up and I’m all here for that.

Is it considered cheating in life? by GuessWhoIAm27. You gotta read the version posted on FFN, it’s longer. A slightly delulu OC got dropped into KHRverse by a God’s mistake and proceed to ignore reality and focus on making her OTP canon (spoilers alert: no one in universe understands what she’s doing either). I came for the mindless fun and stayed for the feels. Endgame pairing is intended to be Hibari x OC.

Fortune Favours by AlligatorEyes. I think I see Sass and Win being rec to you in a different ask so, if you read SnW then you should be familiar with the author’s writing style. This one is different tho, a rather interesting interpretations of Dino’s youth that I have not read anywhere else. Remind me of reading the Dino’s side-story in the KHR novels actually

Novaturient by woofio. Reincarnated OC into, like, Hibari’s parents timeline. So OCs, side characters in KHR got a lot of time to shine here. Many things, mostly bad things,happened to the OC but we do have quite a few fluff to balance it out. Come read this and cry with meeee

Day twoooooo: one random thing they'd get into a heated discussion for (for me its bad musical adaptations, I will rip some of them to fucking shreds) either for K project (Homra+Saru) or KHR (Vongola+Varia), i'll let you decide

This one was really fun to consider so thank you so much for sending it in! I went with KHR for this one, and hope you’ll enjoy!

Tsuna doesn’t honestly have many things that he gets really, really worked up about, other than the very obvious one that we see brought up a lot throughout the manga and anime. He’s really not okay with anyone hurting innocent people, no matter the reasons. It’s not something he can forgive and while he’ll try to understand the other person’s reasoning, he’s going to try to get through to them that it’s not okay and will try to convince them to stop. And if he can’t…let’s not forget, guys, that Tsuna did canonically kill Byakuran in the Future Arc. It might have been an alternate future, so arguments can be made that it doesn’t count, but I do believe that it does.

Gokudera loves good horror movies…or really, really terrible ones. He watches a lot of them and is really well versed in the different horror movie genres and tropes and he can get really fired up when discussing any horror franchises and whether they’re good or bad or whether a new release was worth the hype or not. He does a lot of research into the movies he hated and the ones he loved, so he can pull out all these really interesting but obscure facts in an attempt to get his point across and ‘win’ the discussion/debate.

Yamamoto is a baseball nut through and through. He can easily get into heated discussions and debates over which teams will make the playoffs, on which players should have been traded to which teams, on which players are having good seasons and what they should improve on, and so on and so forth. He’s really knowledgeable on the subject too, so he’s coming in with facts and figures and proof of his opinions.

Ryohei’s topic? C’mon, everyone knows this one! It’s boxing, bar none, with proper training and exercise techniques coming in a close second.

Lambo has very strong opinions on video games. He really likes playing video games, especially if they’re two-player ones, but he’s also really particular about what makes a good video game. Of course, his heated discussion is usually just him calling the other person stupid, wrong, and a doo-doo head, but hey…he’s five, what do you expect?

Hibari has a very strong sense of rules and order. He won’t get into heated debates or discussions on them though. He’s just going to beat them into the head of whoever defies or disagrees with him.

Mukuro likes fashion. He really does. He might have a very unique fashion sense, but clothing and accessories appeal to him and he can get into very heated debates on the subject of fashion, whether it be whether something is simply a trend or a classic style, or what type or brand of boots is better or whether gold is gaudy or timeless.

Chrome actually really likes birds and does know quite a bit about them. She doesn’t really often speak up, but she can get really adamant about what type of bird it is that someone saw or that’s nearby and it can test her patience a little bit if people who don’t know what they’re talking about want to argue with her about it. She normally won’t argue, just because that’s not what Chrome does, but it will really perturb her.

Okay, but nobody is getting into heated arguments with Xanxus. Seriously, anyone who would attempt to do so is taking their lives in their hands and most of them really just succeed in pissing him off and ending up dead or seriously injured. He really does take people trying to start even friendly debates with him as them trying to provoke him or fight with him.

Have you met Squalo? He has strong opinions on everything, and he can make everything into an argument. There is no one thing that makes him get into a heated discussion. There is everything and the heated discussions usually become out and out fights.

Belphegor does think the knives he uses, specially made for him, are, of course, superior to all others, but he does know his other knives. He knows the makes and models, the better points of each brand and type, and does have very strong opinions on which knives are worth it and which ones are made just to look pretty. He can get very, very testy about that topic.

Lussuria has surprisingly strong opinions on boy bands. He knows boy bands from many different cultures, he has his favourites, and he will have no problem telling you why your favourite is trash if it does not mesh with his favourites. For example, in Lussuria’s opinion, BTS is the best K-pop boy band out there currently, and EXO is the worst, and he will have long lectures of why this is true.

Levi really, really does not take kindly to anyone doubting or bad-mouthing his boss. Xanxus is the subject he will most fiercely defend. It doesn’t matter if it’s someone from the Varia or someone from another family or such, but the person who dares to say something anything less than glowing about Xanxus is catching a verbal beat-down and long lectures on Xanxus’ glory from Levi, if he doesn’t just resort to violence.
