if 9&10 were "dont wander off", and 11&12 were "the doctor lies", 13s rule #1 is "dont question me"
"have we not had a good time together" shes pointing yaz to the rule that yaz very well knows is there: we can travel if you dont ask me any difficult questions. yaz knows this is the rule - "because you ask too many questions", "this team structure isnt flat" - but she also was the one to invite the doctor into her home so im pretty sure she also knows shes not gonna kicked out that easily. she has some leeway. which she has been using between revolution and flux, which is why the doctor reminds her of the rules
i dont think she'd kick her out though. she wouldnt. i think it's just that the more you break the rule, the more unpleasant she becomes to be around, and eventually youre gonna walk out on your own. she doesnt want you to, she'd rather you stay and dont ask questions. but if youre gonna try to ask questions anyway, i think thats whats gonna happen
and yaz must think so too. because she does back off. because she doesnt want that to happen either. and it does anyway

Whatever they were doing, they’d been out there all night- warrior’s sworn to her family, recklessly pulled from one nation to another- they were there on the ground, absolutely motionless. Had held the same positions for so long she could see dew, gathering across the folding shape of a battalions worth of wings.
Weakness, it was pure weakness to wish Cassian with her, but Nesta felt it.
Longed to turn from this newest disaster, whatever it was, see his eyes bright despite everything.
There had never been room for weakness in her life.
Nesta dropped her skirt, velvet settling audible on the grass, stopped before the only member of this party whose name she knew.
She’d learn them all- she would, hated that she had not already.
“Captain.”
He did not look up. Move, those great verdigris wings drawn down so tight Nesta would have expected entrapment were they anywhere else.
“It has been my honor,” Koram announced, fist over his heart white-knuckled, “To serve your house, my lady.”
“It has been our honor to call you Archeron,” Nesta’s mouth answered, numb. Ritual and rote. When no reply came, she continued. “We do not penalize contracts broken. Not for this. If you wish to leave and join the rallying of the army in the mountains. To”-
Clear, distinct, Kali, a full arms length of constant presence away, sucked in a breath.
From above, it was easy to see the muscle, jumping on Koram’s jaw. “We would die here, Lady Archeron. With some honor left.”
It took too long, seconds, to understand it was a plea. A genuine question of mercy.
Nesta shook her head. “No one is dying. No one else. You never have to go back to the Night Court’s armies, as far as I’m concerned.”
No wind, no air, no answers, until Kali risked that closer step, not even the beads of her braids chiming together. “Lady Archeron, if I may?”
Her head hurt. Her heart, her throat, her damned leg- it hurt to stand here and it infuriated her not to know what the hell was happening. Nesta seized her dragging dress again. “Yes, this way.”
It was no comfort, to breathe in rosy mist, the transplanted green scent of a hundred continental plants in a garden her grandmother had never gotten to see.
“What are they doing?”
Surprise looked cataclysmic on the older woman’s face, starker for the rippling tattoos along her hairline. “Waiting to die.”
The books had left out too much. “Why?”
Kali blinked, and after a moment, settled into a posture Nesta hatefully could not fail to recognize as familiar, three seconds of motion away from Cassian’s formal salute. “They lost two of their charges, my lady. Two girls.”

No see, the fact Ed, Al, and Roy were allowed to leave the room without even that much added supervision is great story telling becuase it shows how cocky the homunculus and father were.
Bradley continously refers to humans as weaker, dumber, and all together inferior to homunculus. So do the other homunculus.
Aka, the homunculus only failed becuase they were too cocky in their plans and ended up fucking themselves over.
this is true but you wanna know what the most horrendous thing is? father very nearly Actually Won because these motherfuckers kEPT COMING BACK LIKE FATHER WAS RIGHT THAT THEY'D GET INVOLVED AND RETURN TO CENTRAL DUDE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO BOTHER WITH THE HASSLE OF LOCKING THEM UP THESE IDIOT HUMANS SASHAYED INTO PLACE JUST FINE
literally the ONLY reason father didn't win is because he wasn't keeping a close enough eye on hohenheim which is truly ironic because of all the humans that father Should've been able to predict the movements of it was the one that he was actually friends with at one point in time and knowing arakawa that's some additional level of meta analysis about friendship and trust and manipulation or w/e but really all this to say while the homunculi are idiots the humans they were trying to wrangle really did not do any better

everyday a dumbass will appear saying Alcina didn't love her children because of stupid gameplay reasons and ignore all the fucking rest(specially context, not even gonna mention completly ignoring things like the official "three black roses close to her heart" thing which is the biggest one) that should come with analysing them, no seriously, do we really need to go over all of that again? Im tired of that shit, one appears every 1 or 2 months, are y'all stupid or just genuinely ignore everything?
