The Matrix of Destiny

Hi sweeties! Hope you're doing okay. This time, I'm gonna get into a completely another topic I used to do. I want to make a post about the Matrix of Destiny and how to read this chart. It's a little bit similar as an astrological natal chart, but there's also a huge differences there. We're gonna get into that in this post. I'm gonna use my own Matrix of Destiny chart as an example.

The Matrix of Destiny is a method or a tool in esoteric practices where we can analyze and understand someone's individual life, personality, destiny, love life, career path, karma, talents etc. It isn't based on astrology, it's rather based on numerology and tarot cards from Major Arcana. There's 22 tarot cards overall in Major Arcana and they go in this order:

1 - The Magician

2 - The High Priestess

3 - The Empress

4 - The Emperor

5 - The Hierophant

6 - The Lovers

7 - The Chariot

8 - Justice

9 - The Hermit

10 - Wheel of Fortune

11 - Strength

12 - The Hanged Man

13 - Death

14 - Temperance

15 - The Devil

16 - The Tower

17 - The Star

18 - The Moon

19 - The Sun

20 - Judgement

21 - The World

22 - The Fool

If someone was born on 23rd, 24th, 25th of month and on and on, then it's crucial to add the numbers into one digit, so we get numbers such as 5, 6, 7 etc., because the numbers don't go further than 22 in the context of the Matrix of Destiny.

Now, I'm going to explain what the certain position of the Matrix of Destiny chart means.

The Center: A number at the center of a Destiny Matrix chart represents our overall personality and it's our most important number/arcana. It's also related to our comfort zone as well.

The Left Side: This number represents our external world, our first impression, presence and how people perceive us. It can also mean how people see us when they meet us for the very first time.

The Right Side: The number at the right side represents our internal world, our private life, our relationships. This part of a chart can give insight how we interact with our closest people

The Bottom Side: This part of a chart can represent our karmic tale and our past life experiences. It tells us about the side of us that we need to release in this incarnation, otherwise we'll be punished.

The Upper Side: This number represents our inherent talents, abilities and something we're naturally good at. It's about our gifts that we should share in order to achieve success in any area of life.

The Heart Sign: The number close to this sign or emoji shows what we should seek for our partner. It represents the personality of our partner and our love life.

The Dollar Sign: This number tells us about out career path and our professional life. It shows us which career is the most suitable for us in general.

While analyzing the Matrix of Destiny chart, it's essential to take a look on the state of our chakras. Each chakra has two numbers in it and one overall number and means several things.

Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): our spiritual connection and mission

Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): how we use our intuition and its state*

Throat Chakra (Vissudha): our communication and writing style

This person looks trustworthy and mature. They have a bulky body or at least they look strong and wise. They tend to hide their face. I'm picking up on bikers specifically. Also people that have that tech wear or gangsta aesthetic. They wear masks in public transports. They look friendly but also intimidating in some way, because of their posture or their looks. They could have tattoos. As for their personality, they're pretty chill. They like to go with the flow and enjoy life at it's fullest. They're rather open minded and curious. They are empathetic. They have no problem adopting other people's perspective and finding a common ground with others. They're more of the observer type. They're quiet but they always pay attention. This feels more like the introverted types of the MBTI profiles. When it comes to jobs, I'm picking up on physical therapists, psychologists, kinesitherapists, chiropractors, people that practice movement medicine. Also firefighters and police officers for some reason. They help people move on, especially mentally, from traumatic experiences. As for their interests, I don't get the best of vibes from this section lmao but I was picking up on getting drunk, getting high, seeking for adrenaline by adopting risky attitudes. Like racing on the highway or doing extreme sports. Watching porn, having sex. They tend to have self destructive tendencies. I was also picking up on fighting, boxing, street fights. Like MMA and stuff like that. On a more "softer" note they just enjoy wrecking havoc. So let's say they go to a party or a concert they're the type to tear the place down. I'm also picking up on festivals like Hellfest.

Heart and Mind: An Analysis of Tripitaka

I've been wanting to write this since…since I came across some good ol' Tripitaka discourse in the LMK fandom ages ago. Couldn't remember the specifics, but as y'all probably know, it falls under the "Is him an abusive master" and people's strongly worded retort to that question.

On one hand, I dislike the "abusive" take because so often, it is an excuse to reduce a character to an 2D caricature for cheap angst purposes, and both JTTW and its historical context deserve more nuances than that.

On the other hand, I don't agree with some of the defenses either——that Tripitaka is Kind and Wise and The Virtuous Monk, Actually, and people who said otherwise just had their views colored by adaptations, or were ignorant westerners misreading the book.

Because trust me, Chinese readers absolutely have gripes with Tripitaka too, and sass him mercilessly.

We may have a better idea of the historical context, namely, the common usage and acceptance of corporal punishments, but quite a few of us don't think he's a good Buddhist either.

Instead, I'd like to focus on his allegorical role, and how it ultimately forms the basis for my interpretation of his character.

It is commonly acknowledged that each pilgrim represent an aspect of the enlightenment seeker: Monkey is the Mind, Dragon Horse the Will, Pigsy the Desire, Sandy the Determination/Ideation.

Tripitaka is either the enlightenment seeker as a human, or the Heart, the Compassion.

But how can someone represent Compassion when his behaviors don't look all that compassionate, when he seems to care more about what a good Buddhist looks like on paper than in spirit?

How can a compassionate man punish his disciple with a migraine spell and disown him twice, be okay with some violence but not others?

Well, to answer that question, I feel like you have to look at Tripitaka in conjunction with SWK, and what the monkey represents. He is literally the Mind Monkey, the boundless potential of human intellect, and that, by itself, is neutral.

In the word of one of the best poems in JTTW:

"He could be good; he could be bad; present good and evil he could do at will. He'd be an immortal, a Buddha, if he's good; wickedness would cloak him with hair and horn."

To put it simply, SWK is one's wits, one's problem-solving skills, the ability to discern good and evil on a cognitive level.

Whenever Tripitaka, the Compassion, is deceived, it falls to the Mind to see the opponents as they are, and take action to protect the human from harm.

But just as blind compassion without judgement can be exploited by evil, the reverse is true for a mind without compassion, driven solely by their own ambition and whims and practical knowledge.

The Mind knows that robbery is a crime, so these robbers deserve death, but has no idea how disturbing it is for a regular guy to witness six people being brutally murdered in front of him.

The Mind knows that abandoning your wife and family to become a bandit is shameful and unfilial, but cannot comprehend why the bandit's father may not want his son killed for these offenses.

The Mind knows right and wrong, but has trouble seeing the human behind those acts, and why one should care in the first place.

And to see what the Mind looks like without any of Compassion's restraint, one needs to look no further than SWK's "Second Mind", the Six-eared Macaque.

Just like how "Heart" sounds like a lame power for a character, Compassion isn't flashy, nor as useful in a strictly ultilitarian sense. In fact, having compassion makes you vulnerable. It hurts. And unscrupulous people will absolutely use it against you.

So why hold onto your weakness and wallow in it? The world doesn't need another sanctimonious wuss, it needs strong, clever people making hard sacrifices, ruthless, logical decisions! Tough up! Stop caring, and you'll never be hurt again!

Much like a certain crowd who think basic human decency is somehow political propaganda, perhaps, when SEM struck Tripitaka, he was trying to do the same thing.

Kill the embodiment of compassion, the sniveling, useless, fragile human that keeps holding SWK back. Replace him as the true Mind, the one strong enough to break all bonds and seize glory with his own two hands.

But without compassion, without humanity, one is no longer a whole person, and cannot reach enlightenment. In fact, just like how Buddha would only give the True Scripture to Tripitaka, if you are not brave enough to make yourself vulnerable, to suffer and feel other's suffering, you will never transcend it.

At best, you can have some pale imitations of the parts you have willingly shut out from yourself.

And that's what SEM does. He thought he could do it on his own, singlehandedly replace SWK and reap the benefits of enlightenment, but he is no Monkey Awakened to Emptiness.

He is just empty; cut off desires because it is base, cut off determined ideation because it is foolish, cut off compassion because it is weak, cut off the altruism and curiosity and creativity from the mind, and you are left with a grand total of NOTHING.

A shadow of a self, desperately clinging onto external validation and stolen stories, reading the pilgrim's travel paperwork out loud as if that would actually make the journey his.

Tripitaka needs to trust SWK and learn from him, because compassion, much like good intention, doesn't solve problems on its own, and mercy is not the same as enabling harm.

SWK needs his master's guidance, because even at his most selfish and impulsive, he cares, and only by extending that care to others and accepting the vulnerability that comes with it can he truly mature and become awakened to the ultimate truth.

One last bit of ramble: I feel like there is something to be said about Tripitaka's tendency to trust Pigsy, and how the pursuit of enlightenment is often derailed by worldly desires.

Unlike the demons they encountered, however, Pigsy is not the personification of mental obstacles that must be destroyed, because you cannot destroy bodily needs, nor the very human tendencies to slack off and avoid trouble.

You should stop listening to its advice, sure. Poke fun at it, absolutely. But what Pigsy represents is part of the human condition, just like every other pilgrim, and also something one must make peace with.

I might be in the minority here, but let me cook for a minute.

If you break up with Ascended Astarion (refuse his offer to turn you into a spawn), he approaches you a couple days later and will go into this whole mantra about how he would have abused your love, you made a mistake, etc. Basically trying to convince you that he's not the least bit upset about it, and that he's doing you the favor of seeing to destroying the brain. He also asks if you could work together as partners during this, as well.

This is a hot take on this but...

Astarion is lying through his fucking teeth in this scene. Receipts below the cut.

During the sex scene with Ascended Astarion, you get a Wisdom check where you can look into his thoughts. If you pass this Wisdom check, it's revealed to you that Astarion essentially thinks very highly of you, as he would believe you'd be degrading yourself if you choose to become his spawn. He knows it's wrong of him to put you in this position, but at that point in time he's so incredibly infatuated with the new powers he's been given, as well as finally having his insatiable craving for blood lifted for the first time in 200 years. He's absolutely drunk on power and it's heavily clouding his judgement.

If you face Cazador without Astarion, there's a skill check you can pass when he's in his coffin recovering where you can also look into Cazador's thoughts. Essentially, Cazador's inner monologue does not match who he is on the outside. He's essentially trapped in his own body and mind, and basically wishes for death. He hates how much of a hold blood and power has over him; he wants it all to end. He hates who he has become.

In the D&D lore, true vampires are soul-less beasts. They become driven by blood lust and a desire to turn the whole world under their command. They lack the ability to harbor empathy or other emotions, especially love. BG3 introduces the Vampire Ascendent into the D&D lore; they basically regain multiple aspects of their humanity while still keeping the powers of a true vampire. They can still drink blood and turn people into thralls/spawn, but they no longer require blood to survive, are able to walk in the sun, enter homes uninvited, walk through running water, etc. You're basically a living vampire, but still immortal.

Given that Astarion becomes the Vampire Ascendent, his brain is not clouded by a need to consume blood. He doesn't have that pit in his stomach that drove every other vampire that came before him. He's being blinded by power. He has the ability to think rationally. When you refuse his offer to bend to his will, he becomes incredibly, incredibly hurt. He says the biggest crimes known to man are committed in the name of "love." If you call him a hypocrite, he shrinks back into his insecurities and states that your character's "true colors" are finally revealing themselves. He becomes incredibly bitter because you rejected him. You hurt him by refusing what he has become. And it absolutely destroys a large part of him on the inside.

Honestly that's the only rationale I can come up with as to why he eventually decides to smooth things over with you by saying there's no use in fighting, he admits he would have abused your love, played with it to get what he wanted until you were nothing (again, he's heavily deflecting here and trying to convince even himself that's what he would have done), and wants to still be partners in battle at the very least. He still wants to be near you. Because a large part of him still cares about you. Even if he can't understand it at that moment because he's clouded by power, he's still drawn to you like a moth to a flame. He's trying to convince himself that he no longer cares about you in that way. If he genuinely didn't care about the PC, he would leave regardless of whether you helped him or not. He would choose himself and his own interests; he wouldn't stick around and repay some petty debt. He got what he wanted, why bother helping some poor sod fix their problems? As revealed in the wisdom check, he still does think highly of the PC.

Despite what option you choose for Astarion (Ascended vs Non), he will tell you in both endings that you basically gave him his life back, and he will thank you for it. That I believe is genuine on both ends as it happens in both endings. If you ask Ascended Astarion to be gentle when he bites you, he heeds your request and performs the act in the most gentle way possible, choosing your wrist (kissing the back of your hand first) as opposed to your neck.

I'm rambling at this point but the bottom line is Ascended Astarion does still care for the PC, imo. It's just being heavily clouded under a mountain of new found powers and awe. I have no doubt that once that all blows over, he'd absolutely 100% be at your door on an almost nightly basis borderline begging you to take him back, or trying his hardest to convince you to at least give him a chance to talk. He's not a monster driven by horrific bloodlust. He's infatuated with this newfound power and mental clarity. Imo, unless there are new rules in the D&D lore that state differently, this is a temporary thing. And he'll absolutely be back to wanting you again at some point.

But fuck waiting around for that, lmao.

Bakugo Katsuki (455 words)

"Stupid extras." Bakugo murmured, banging his fist against the door.

You and Bakugo were just locked inside of the small janitor closet together, and by the sound of it, it was Denki and Mina's doing.

The small room and the feeling of Bakugo's warm back pressed against your chest was starting to give you a panic attack. Your breathing was growing heavier and you were starting to sweat.

You could hear Bakugo's voice in the distance, but you couldn't focus on it. You started hypervenelating.

"What's wrong with you?" Bakugo growled, throwing a judgemental look over his shoulder. His crimson eyes slightly softened at the sight of your panic.

"I-I-I need a-air." You pant, your hands beginning to shake.

"Woah woah. Calm down." Bakugo demanded, turning around. You were pressed further against the wall and your eyes welled up with tears.

"Don't move!" You hiss, your hands shaking further.

"Calm down.. please." Bakugo murmured, not knowing what to do.

You violently shake you head, not knowing how to express yourself.

"Shhhh." Bakugo murmured, slowly caressing your head, trying to calm you down. "Can I hold you?"

You nodded, unable to say anything else.

Bakugo immediatly pulled you into his chest, wrapping his arms around your waist, his hands running up and down your shoulders comfortingly.

You focussed on Bakugo's warmth, listening to his deep voice murmur to you. Your breathing started to slow as you clung to him, greatful for the lack of walls pressing against you.

After a few minutes you started to calm down further, sighing as you rest your head agaisnt his broad chest. Bakugo made a small coughing sound before starting to slowly pet your hair.

"Are you going to tell me what's wrong now?" He murmured, his voice low and deep.

"I'm claustrophobic." You murmur, burying your face in his chest. He smelt good.. almost like campfire.

"I'm sorry, y/n." He murmured, tilting your chin up to look into his crimson eyes.

"Sorry for what?" You were entranced by his powerful gaze.

"Those idiotic extras put us in here to try and make me.." his cheeks turned a slight hue of pink. "Confess."

"C-confess?" Your mouth opened slightly.

He nodded, his ears also changing color.

"I-I really like you y/n.." he whispered, looking down at you with his intense crimson eyes.

"Y-you do?" Your cheeks were stained with dark red.

"Yes.. I do." He whispered, caressing your cheek.

You slightly leaned into the touch, making him smirk.

"Do you like me back?" He purred in your ear, causing your face to grow hotter.

You nodded, your face flushed in both embaresment and attraction.

"Can I take you out then?" He smirked, playing with your hair.

"Why yes.. I'd like that.."

Todoroki Shoto (555 words)

Shoto was too busy talking to his coworker to notice how stressed you were. He knew about your phobia, but he's never seen it in affect. You've been married for two months, together for eleven.

You were currently at a pro hero gathering. Some of the top heroes were there, and their fans and some newer ones filled in the space.

There were people everywhere.. and you were tired of feeling trapped. As a woman accidently brushed against you, you pressed yourself against Shoto's back, burying your face into his dress shirt.

He didn't say anything, but you could feel his hand reaching behind him to touch your waist, holding you agaisnt him. You started to have a panic attack, gently tapping Shoto to try and get his attention.

Everytime you did he gently squeezed your waist in response, almost like he thought that you were just giving him affection... as a hero passed by you too close for comfort, you pinched Shoto's skin, finally getting his attention as he turned to look at you, looking both confused and slightly irritated.

"What is it love?" He murmured, wrapping his arms around you as he leaned his ear against your mouth, knowing that you prefer to speak to him and only him.

"M-my phobia... it's acting up and I feel like I can't breathe..." You whisper, hiding your face from everyone but Shoto.

Shoto frowned, leaning down to kiss you softly.

"I apologize, love. I'll be more vigilant next time." He murmured in your ear, kissing your temple softly as he slowly brought you towards the exit, shielding your body with his.

"Shoto! Shoto it's you! I'm your biggest fan!" A woman screeched, pressing herself against Shoto's arm. She held onto his arm tightly, hugging herself against it.

You started to hyperventilating, and Shoto wrinkled in nose in disgust. He didn't mean to be rude.. but feeling anyone's touch besides yours caused him to want to hurl.. especially if it was someone like her.. obsessed fangirls who don't respect the fact that he's happily married.

Shoto gently pushed her away, frowning.

"I'm glad you admire me, but keep to yourself. I have a wife, and shes all I'll ever need."

The woman teared up before bursting into sobs, running towards the other side of the room. Shoto quickly pulled you out of the building, embracing you tightly when he found a quite and open place for the two of you.

"Shhh it's okay my love. I'm sorry.." he murmured, littering kisses up and down your face.

"It's okay.. just hold me." You whimpered, wanting to be drowned in his warmth.

He quickly obeyed, holding you against him for several minutes. He didn't care how long it took you to calm down, as long as you felt safe he would be happy.

After about ten minutes you calmed down kissing him softly in gratitude. He kissed back with a smile before pulling away, stroking your cheeks. "Sorry about that 'fan'." Shoto sighed, kissing your nose.

You playfully huffed before kissing his own nose. "It wasn't your fault. You rejected her and got her off of you.. I'm not mad at you."

Shoto smiled wider, kissing you yet again.

"And I'm sorry for not noticing. I'll do better next time, my love."

You smiled again. "I trust you."

Kirishima Eijiro (359 words)

You and Kirishima were on vacation for your first year anniversary. You stayed in a large, luxurious hotel, and were pampered quite a lot.

You and Kirishima spent most of your time in your hotel room, but decided to go down to the hot springs in the morning.

Luckily Kiri was able to get you two a private spring, so you two were alone. The warm water felt amazing, and Kirishima's wide grin as he told you stories was contagious.

After a few hours of chatting and relaxing, the two of you dried off and got ready to leave. As you walked back to your hotel room, there were far more people than before. You didn't think about it much, holding Kiri's hand as you smiled politely at whoever looked at you and wrinkled your nose at the several guys that looked at you longingly.

Kirishima isn't extremely jealous, so he kept to himself, smiling down at you as you walked; smirking as he saw you wrinkle your nose at every flirt.. causing him to gape in shock.

You get to the elevator, and you fail to notice the very tight space when you walk in. It wasn't until you were forced against Kiri's side, a wall, and an old lady that smelt like kitty litter did you notice the tight space and start to react.

Kirishima instantly noticed and pulled you to his chest, moving himself so you wouldn't touch anyone else, and you wouldn't have to look either. Your back was facing the wall, one of Kiri's hands behind your back so you wouldn't brush against it as he held eye contact with you, smiling softly.

He didn't press himself against you, but he was quite close. A lot of people grumbled at him but he ignored them, his free hand stroking your cheek to maintain your undivided attention.

After several minutes you reached your floor and Kiri cradled you to his chest, walking out with you as he made sure that you weren't touched by anyone or anything else.

He continued to hold you as he made his way to your sweet, opening the door with one hand while the other held you by your waist. Once you two were in he let go of you, smiling down at you.

"Thank you.." you smile, caressing his cheek. Kirishima's smile widened as he gave you his signature grin.

"It was nothing." He kissed you sweetly, rubbing your shoulders slightly. Pulling away, he winked at you before heading into the small kitchen that was attached to the sweet.

You giggled as you sat at the island, watching him tie on his 'kiss the chef' apron. He grinned at you, his ruby eyes sparkling in adoration.

"Hungry?"

Kaminari Denki (542 words)

You have no idea how your clingy boyfriend convinced you to go to a party.. but he did.

And now you were surrounded by a bunch of strangers, and that idiotic boyfriend of yours let go of your hand.

You were swarmed by complete strangers, and you can't find the one person you know... lovely.

Your breathing quickened as you felt bodies being pressed against your own, a few rare apologies thrown into the mix.

You were starting to have a panic attack as you searched for Denki in the crowd, trying to spot his bright yellow hair. You looked for several minutes until you spotted him. Hurrying to his side, you hugged him from behind.. and then you realized that it wasn't him.

The man smirked at you, his eyes twinkling with mischief. Before he could say or do anything, you hurried away, pushing through the crowd. After getting within a safe distance, you tried calling him.. it went straight to voicemail.

You hands started to shake as you tried and found an exit, needing to calm down. As you get to the exit you hear Denki calling your name, but you ignore him, leaving the building.

You find a secluded area and slowly sink to the floor, shaking uncontrollably. Denki rushed to you a few minutes later, his eyes full of confusion and worry.

"Y/n!? What's wrong?" He tries to touch your shoulder but you push his hand away.

"Y/n my darling sunshine.. please..." He whispered, his eyes growing wet as he kneeled beside you.

"I told you about my phobia." You whisper, eyes welling up with tears.

"Phobia.. what phobia..?"

"I have claustrophobia Denki! And you just left me in there!" A few tears fell down your cheek.

Denki's eyes widened. "I'm sorry.. I-I didn't know.."

"I told you! Twice before the party and like three times when we first started dating!"

"I'm sorry! It must have been my adhd.." he whispered, gently placing his warm hand on your cheek.

Sighing, you lean into his touch, tears cascading down your flushed cheeks.

"I'm sorry baby.. I really really am.."

"I told you I didn't want to go.. and you promised to hold my hand the entire time.."

"I'm really really sorry baby.. really I am. I got distracted, I'm so so so sorry.." he whispered, gently kissing your tears away.

You blushed at the contact, the two of you were still new to physical affection.

"I need you to remember next time.. okay?"

"There won't be a next time.. I won't try and make you go to a party ever again."

You smiled, giggling quietly. "We'll see.. you forget things a lot."

Jinjae make me insane

SHJ is Crescent Moon's handsome Ken doll, YJ is similarly the beloved playing doll that you pamper and keep in its glass case. They're both the object of many awakener's obsession, some where they keep that person separate (Shishio, BHY, KSH for YJ) or other cases where they continue to take care of them and keep them close.

They're the sacrifice prettied up at the altar, they're the transcendants fighting figurine doll, where those powerful godly beings keep interfering in their lives and "care about/love" them/show them affection and make a mess of their lives in their quest to benevolently help worlds they're not involved in, their death/the undoing of their self and chance at getting a happy ending is a necessary sacrifice for the greater good and the preferable outcome. They're also sought out by other transcendants for similarly dehumanizing reasons.

They both have been the target of a wedding ceremony attempting them to strip them of their self and deeming their personhood irrelevant

They're both simultaneously overwhelmingly powerful and competent and extremely helpless, aware of how bleak their fate is and how their chance of getting their happy ending is next to nonexistent. They're often more valued as an object regardless of their will/individuality which is often deemed inconvenient by many parties.

They're both doomed by the narrative

They're both extremely observant, good at reading people, goot at taking care of people, pretty benevolent in their own way and simultaneously extremely ruthless, they're good at manipulating people and are pretty private and bad at emotional vulnerability/asking for help, in part because their parents fully neglected them outside of basic necessities and because they don't have faith in society in general.

They are frequently put on a pedestal and often people who've they paid attention to define their self worth through the attention they (YJ or SHJ) give them.

They're both wholly unused to being seen due to being either seen through rose colored glasses or sewer colored glasses and it's a system they don't think they mind that much, and they're used to either be twisted into a more palatable light or being despised for not being more palatable/personally useful to them. And they frequently use a palatable/acceptable persona in order to get somewhere with new acquaintances and often play with other people's perception of themselves, either for funsies or for getting what they want, both because it's a more efficient way to interact with other people and also because their actual emotions/selves get rejected or dismissed as a lie. their energy was crazy. i just casually started tearing up and getting weirdly sentimental while writing this, so.. definitely some strong emotion present here? also immediately thought of the song mentioned above. especially the “i used to think you were shy, but maybe you just had nothing on your mind. maybe you were thinking about yourself all the time.” line.

so, hyunjin's reputation among female idols doesn't look great persé. he's viewed as a guy who's likely to have flirted with anyone fitting his idea of attractive. a bit of a ladies' man, who for sure enjoys the ego-stroking that comes with female validation. he's great at these short but emotional flings, meaning in the moment he's great at deceiving and deluding people into him being serious about it. there is this huge perception of him just being kinda.. delusional and unrealistic, living in a dream world of his own and willingly wearing these rose-colored glasses. if hyunjin connects to you romantically, he's amazing at dragging you with him into that world. like dating (? or hooking up? energy is mostly physical with this perception of a shortlived emotional bond) with him can be a bit of a rollercoaster.. with an irresistible high, and the following disappointing low. definitely a certain addictiveness to it. he knows his powers and what he can do to people, how he can use them to his own advantage.

he's very good at appearing a certain way but being another. meaning he puts on this prince charming on a white horse act, but once you look beyond that, or you just get close enough to knowing his actual self, he's much more selfish and greedy for his own good, than you'd expect. many female idols have this view of him as someone who only enters connections in order to gain something for himself, mostly validation. he puts a lot of importance into superficial things, such as fame, popularity, reputation, image, money, power.. they think he struggles finding true emotional fulfilllment, doesn't really know what he sincerely needs and is disconnected to his inner voice. he therefore just goes on hopping from one person to another. pretty bad at committing to relationships. he's great at entertaining the idea of them, but doesn't live up to the idea in reality. he's very in or out, not always available. prone to ghosting people out of nowhere and not recognizing or not wanting to acknowledge the toxicity behind his actions.

he's not very self-aware in their eyes. he hates confronting or acknowledging certain realities and therefore runs away from them. like he just runs away from his problems essentially. doesn't take accountability for his actions. hyunjin is a bit like an immature and irresponsible child to them. he gets afraid to admit to his mistakes because he's scared to get hurt, or make himself appear weak or flawed. some of them think it's pathetic. (they're very harsh in their judgement for sure lol)

there are some female idols though, who view him as mysterious and intriguing, and very desirable too. they think he has a strong presence, and he has this aura to him that awakens your interest, makes you wonder who he truly is. i can sense he's probably someone who does most of the approaching (surprisingly straightforward and direct) but doesn't have many people actually approach him, since he doesn't have very accessible energy. there's a good portion of female idols just staring at him like 🫢😯 and whispering and gossiping. they look at him as this unapproachable guy full of mystery, someone they can't figure out.

so, male idols look at hyunjin in a lighter manner. opinions do seem to vary though.

he's someone who's also just kinda in and out in their eyes. like at one point, you'll be with him, enjoying his company and seeming like you became pretty close, in the next he'll just be gone and unreachable. he's someone unpredictable and moody to them, like you never really know what phase in life he'll be in. someone very sensitive and easily affected by external influences, who therefore naturally goes through many ups and downs in life. however, they think he doesn't really let people in when it comes to his internal world. he's good at the superficial connections, i can see him being a lot of fun at parties, but many male idols feel like they don't actually know him as well as they think.

however additionally, there is this perception of him being.. overly sensitive. like do not touch hyunjin when he's going through something. some male idols think he's way too easily stressed out about things, makes a big deal out of everything, constantly self-sabotages and creates himself problems when there's none. in their eyes, he's a bit of a pain in the ass in this way. like just unbearable. you won't get him to open up easily, but once he does, he'll probably puke all his concerns out in hours and overwhelm the hell out of the person he's with.

but i have to say, he has an immense amount of respect from his peers in a professional manner. many male idols think he's the stand-out member in stray kids. they think it's impressive how he's been able to pave himself a way and reputation of his own. a lot of approval and acknowledgement of his not only his abilities, but also his efforts career-wise. it's giving this role model among quite a few idols, especially rookies. i can tell there's this tendency for them to be in awe of group members who just stand out and have these main-character vibes among the rest. many of them would like to imitate hyunjin's career trajectory and are eager to reach a similar reputation professionally. he has this image of having fulfilled his dreams with his own efforts, probably because of them turning him into the main dancer of the group, rather than him being “born talented”. the professional applause for hyunjin is something that's for sure spread among the majority of male idols. his career is very commendable and praiseworthy in their eyes.

wada sez: Did you think I was done? My torments never end: I’m doing all of Transformers: Multiverse too! A direct continuation of Mosaic spearheaded by a few contributors, Multiverse is literally just more of the same. Indeed, this first strip was originally created for publication as a Mosaic; you can see the version with the original branding below. Right off the bat, we’re hit with a blisteringly collar-tugging story which appropriates a brief one-panel cameo in Last Stand of the Wreckers of Marvel UK character Flame during the Aequitas trials to provide thinly-veiled allegory on the Vietnam War. The title of this strip, a location invented for this story, is a bastardised reference to Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam. Look, I’ll admit that I know next to nothing about the Vietnam War, so I’ll leave justifying this strip to the original author, Rob Queen, who posted a lengthy commentary on deviantART explaining the inspiration, which I’ve now mirrored below. Queen implies he asked Nick Roche to draw this strip for him, but was turned down. Notice the cameos for Vector Prime and Alpha Trion on the board! Multiverse mastermind Brandy Dixon did her own take on the colors for this strip, which you can find below.

You have no idea how much i means to me to get this up. A couple years ago, a friend of mine needed some research help for a paper she was doing on the Vietnam War. As I was doing my research, I stumbled upon something interesting.

Ngo Dinh Diem was supposed to be a puppet. His charge was to rally the people of Vietnam to Democracy. Situated in the Democratic capital of Saigon, he quickly proved to not only be unmanageable but ruthless, uncompromising, and bloody. It was not long before he was put into power that his masters, the USA, realized that they may not have found the best individual for the role. Too late to save the cause, President Kennedy had Ngo Dinh Diem assassinated. Some feel that it was the President's inability to establish a worthwhile (read: successful) war regime that led to his own assassination shortly following Ngo Dinh Diem's.

After I slowly reread the bludgeoningly amazing work called "Last Stand of the Wreckers," I saw the single panel of Flame. In Aequitas. Standing trial for his atrocities. "How could this possibly have gone down?" I asked.

And then I knew.

He was a puppet that cut off the hand up his ass.

But unlike Ngo Dinh Diem, Flame was a tragedy because he was too loyal to the cause.

When Nick Roche said that he couldn't do this, I started a search to bring this image to life. When I saw Paul Vromen's art, I knew only he could do so the way I wanted it. The care, attention, and detail he put in continues to blow me away. I love how evil Xaaron looks in Panel 7. I love the subtleties of his work. I love how uncompromising Flame is, how stoic Prowl manages to be. The angles... everything.

Paul's frequent collaborator of hue is Mr. Zubia, who has impressed me as a wonderful talent that I will eagerly approach for more pretty colors in the future.

Apologies, on the other hand, go out to the enigmatic HdE. There was simply too much that I wanted to put in here. Too many words. Too many details. Too many words on the screens behind Flame. I am eternally grateful for his editing judgement, his guidance, and little lessons like "Less words! Less words!" (paraphrased, of course).

In spite of how much I love this, it's not done. I can't help but feel that this one panel can only scratch the surface of the story I want to tell. I would love to make this a real story. By real story, I mean 6 issues. Published by the Idea and Design Works. Anyone think a petition could get Mr. Barber's attention?

Finally, a last apology. I apologize to everyone - American, Cambodian, Thai, Vietnamese, etc. - who was involved with the American Vietnamese War. This includes families, survivors, and all who did not receive a hero's welcome. Not only was the war a failure, but if we look at Vietnam now, we will see that the USA did, in fact, win. It just a lot longer than anyone expected. We won through a means that bloodshed could never have: through diplomacy, success, and a few well-placed products. On behalf of everyone who was forced by fear into that terrible disaster - and unlike the puppet-master Emirate Xaaron - I am sorry.

basically, reader used to be human, and was despised as one. Being treated terribly as a human, before selling their soul to work as an angel for a god. Thinking that they would get a better life. But, the god that they sold their soul to, the god of wealth, was also the god of greed… so after seeing countless of innocent souls die by the god’s hands and making the reader suffer through being reborn each and every single time after death, the reader finally kills their own god. Thus making them now taking the god’s place and absolutely shunning both humanity and deities. Now being known as the Angel of Blind judgment or god of Blind Judgment and mirrors. A legend residing in a forests of gods trees.

reader is disgusted and shows disdain when knowing the feelings of god/human. And brushes it off. Not wanting to fight for any side and just wants to see the down fall. But, due to a soft side on the opposite side, ends up fighting for humanity/gods.

reader is blindfolded, like Qin Shi Huang, and can see. Their main power is using anything made of glass and being able make duplicates of themselves when a piece of them is shattered. If they break completely, it’ll take a longer time for them to regenerate. Having been completely immortal. They can be described wearing old colors or just pure white or black.

you can do this with any characters that you may like. It’s completely fine if you can’t do this! Please take care of yourself!

-How did it come to this? How was there so much corruption, not just on earth with humans, but in Valhalla, with the gods as well.

-When you were a human, you were treated cruelly, a slave that was tortured for fun, before being put in an arena with other slaves to fight for your lives.

-You didn’t last long but your opponent was a lion who made quick work of you.

-You had foolishly believed that the gods did things to humans like you to test you, to make you prove that you were a good person, and you foolishly sold your soul to become an angel, to carry out your god’s will.

-Your god was two faced, on one side he was the God of Wealth, bestowing riches upon others, but he was also the God of Greed, tainting the hearts of others to always want more.

-So many innocents suffered, you were forced to watch greedy people tear each other apart over wealth, and innocents who were on the sidelines were forced to suffer, starving as those fighting were ignoring those who needed them most.

-The god found it fun, getting entertainment from it, it reminded you of those cruel people who tortured you and others for their entertainment.

-In a single moment of blind rage, you killed the god, stunning all under his power, and with that, you became a goddess yourself, but you hated the title, choosing to remain an angel, in name only.

-Many of the other gods learned of your actions, many wanted justice but you quickly shut them up, “Those who torture others for their own pleasure are no gods, they’re monsters.” They were angry at your words, but many had to agree, a few feeling guilty.

-You moved to a quiet but large forest to live in peace away from others, away from their tainted souls, unable to stand seeing the evil in their hearts and souls.

-You lived happily in your forest, surrounded by trees and animals, who were pure, taking only what they needed to survive.

-While not often, you didn’t care for visitors, gods and humans who would come to seek you out, wanting your advice as the god, or angel, of blind judgement, but if their reasons for seeking you out was selfish, you refused them, kicking them out.

-You heard about Ragnarok, a battle between humanity and the gods, for the salvation of humans, and you grew angry, feeling rage that the gods, rather than taking responsibility for their own actions, would rather just wipe out the problem entirely.

-Zeus approached you first, requesting you fight for the gods, staring up at you in your large tree, as you were sitting on a higher branch.

-You floated down, your wings fluffing out behind you, your long white sundress flowing elegantly before you landed before him.

-You said nothing as you put a hand on his head, patting gently, “I won’t fight for those not worth fighting for.” Zeus didn’t argue, as he knew you were right and he bowed his head, thanking you.

-When Brunnhilde approached you shortly after, you were a bit nicer as you could see her wants, her determination to beat the gods, to teach them a lesson.

-However, like before, you refused, before Brunnhilde asked if you would at least be a backup fighter, pleading with you.

-There was something about her eyes, a fire behind them, and being a human yourself once, you wanted to give humanity a chance.

-You sighed deeply, turning from her, “You should have just sent another flood.” She and Goll leapt at you, hugging you which did make you smile before you reiterated that you were only a backup, only to fight if necessary, which she agreed to.

-When you arrived at the stadium, heads turned all over, you were stunningly beautiful, even Aphrodite was staring, your wings were tucked in at your back, and you wore your normal dress, but you added a blindfold across your eyes, as you didn’t wish to see the tainted souls in the arena.

-You could feel the souls all around you, whispering their wants to you, selfish and cruel desires, wanting others to suffer, wanting more wealth, how they weren’t happy in their marriage and wanted another.

-You were annoyed when the gods tried an underhanded trick and took out two of the fighters for humanity, making them unable to battle, angry at their treachery and not even willing to fight fair.

-When you walked out the gods were instantly shouting out their outrage, as you were a god, you should be fighting for the gods.

-You held up a hand and they felt a wave of power flow from you, silencing them, “I won’t fight for those who would rather erase their problems than handling them as gods should. But just like gods, there is evil in humanity, but where there is evil, I have also seen good. I’m fighting for those who fight for their lives, rather than fighting for wealth and power.”

-If you were able to see, you would see an arena full of guilty looking humans and gods, ashamed for their actions and selfish desires.

-Your opponent was another god of greed who taunted you, “What’s wrong with wanting more?” you spread your arms out and glass formed, swirling around you to make four clones of yourself, “It’s not wanting more that is bad, it’s ignoring those who need what you want and keeping it for yourself while they suffer.”

-You barely moved, letting your clones do the hard work, despite being made of glass, while they did break, your clones were way stronger than normal glass, so it was harder to break.

-Nobody had ever seen you fight before, and while amazing, it was almost intimidating, you were so strong, controlling your clones and barely lifting a finger yourself, other than repairing your clones that had been broken.

-You were the only one to walk away from your fight with no injuries, only one tear in your dress, but nothing you couldn’t fix.

-Brunnhilde and Goll sought you out, Goll leaping into your arms, celebrating your win; you were nicer to her, as she was a child, and children were usually less tainted compared to adults, patting her head before Brunnhilde brought you to a quiet waiting room, where you could watch the other fights without being bothered.

-The strawberries she brought you afterwards, after she asked if you needed anything, were delicious, juicy and sweet with just a hint of tartness.

-A knock came to your door and you turned your head, still blindfolded, before you turned back to the screen, listening to the fight, “Enter.”

-A man entered, “Forgive me for interrupting you, my lady, but I wanted to ask you something.”

-You recognized this voice, Jack the Ripper, but he wasn’t really Jack the Ripper, he took the name after killing the original one, so to you, he was just Jack.

-You waved your hand and a second chair appeared, offering him a seat, “You may sit with me. What is it that you wished to ask?”

-He approached and surprised you, taking a hand in his, pecking the back of it in greeting before he took a seat, “Can you see into the souls of others as well?”

-His question was a bit of a surprise, before you remembered that he had the ability to see the souls of others, seeing them as colors of what someone was thinking or feeling.

-You were silent for a moment before nodding, “I can, I am also able to hear their wants- their desires. Wearing this makes it a bit more bearable.” As you said this, you pointed at your blindfold.

-Jack was silent for a moment before he spoke, “Can you tell what I want?” you looked in his direction, a soft smile on your lips, “I can, you want something- or should I say someone, back. You want the first person that you felt remorse for, wanting to take back what you have done. You want Hercules back.”

-He was silent, but you knew you were right and he could see into you, seeing your swirling colors, surprised at them, as you were scared, like you were scared to get close to someone, afraid of betrayal, but also sadness and what looked to be a longing of your own, “May I ask what you desire?”

-Your chuckle was humorless as you leaned your head back, amused that he was able to see it, “My desire is one that will never be obtained. I want all to be free from want- to be happy with what they have. But alas, there will always be someone who wants more.”

-He nodded and stood, not wanting to overstay his welcome with you but you spoke, “You may stay if that is your desire. I do not mind.” Jack was surprised but nodded, thanking you before taking his seat once again.

-It was the start of a beautiful friendship, as you were so similar in your desires, despite never voicing them to others.

Heathers Candy Store AU

This is another completely random AU that I thought of

An alternate title is The Heathers bribe Veronica with candy AU

In this AU Veronica never meets the Heathers in the bathroom and so she never joins the Heathers and stays a loser

She graduates and goes to a college near Sherwood with Martha and Betty

She moves into an apartment with them and to make rent she starts looking for a job

After a bit of searching she sees that there's a job opening at a store called Heather's Candy Store and she thinks 'why not its a candy store how hard can it be'

It turns out she got the name of the store wrong

Its actually Heathers' Candy Store

If she had saw that then she would never have applied

She shows up one day after she gets called in for an interview

Its a quaint little store in the Sherwood Mall, its not super big but it smells amazing

She goes in and who is at the register but Heather McNamara

Veronica does a double take whenever she sees her and she prays that she doesn't recognize her

She doesn't

She goes up to Mac and explains that she's here for the interview and Mac yells for Heather to come out bc the interviewee is here

At this point Veronica puts two and two together and realizes that the name of the store is not Heather's but Heathers' and that this is the Heathers' store

She debates just bolting but she decides to just go to the interview and then politely decline the job and look somewhere else

While she's waiting she looks around and she sees Duke working behind a glass screen making some kind of candy

At this point she's just more confused that the high school bullies opened up a candy store at the mall instead of like, she doesn't know, getting rich people jobs or just living off their parents wealth

Then the mythic bitch herself, Heather Chandler, walks out of the back room and Veronica's suddenly taken back to high school, doing everything in her power to keep her head down and stay out of the warpath of the color coded cunts and to protect Martha and Betty from their wrath

Internally panicking, she awkwardly shuffles into the back room, wishing the interview was over already

She expects to be relentlessly grilled about her qualifications and what she can bring to their store and laughed out after she gets rejected

Instead Chandler comes to her with a pleasant attitude and smiles and tells her how they would be happy to have her at their store

Veronica is taken aback at the emotional whiplash and she wonders if she entered an alternate timeline where the Heathers are nice

She still initially wants to reject the job offer because she's not fully sure if this is a troll and she doesn't trust them despite their friendly demeanor

But then Chandler tells her about their flexible working schedule, decent pay and free candy with every shift

Veronica takes a moment to think about it and she realizes that this is probably the best deal she's gonna get as a college student seeking part-time work so against her better judgement she agrees to work there

Also the free candy is a good incentive too, she has a big sweet tooth

She goes back to her apartment and tells Martha and Betty about how the fucking Heathers opened a candy store and they are just as shocked as she was

They both think that this is a trap of some sort and she needs to quit but then Veronica tells them about the pay and free candy and they admit that those are good benefits

Martha pulls her aside later and tells her to be careful, the Heathers might try and trick her like they did with her and a fake note from Ram during homecoming last year

Fast forward to her first day of work

She arrives at the store when the mall opens and she gets her uniform which is like one of those classic striped ones

Everyone's is color coded obviously

The way the store is set up is that Mac runs the register bc she has people skills, Duke is the one who actually makes the candy, and Chandler does the administrative stuff plus paperwork and all that other bs

The plan is to teach Veronica both the register and how to make candy in the event that Duke or Mac can't work or need extra help

To say it goes poorly is an understatement

For the register, Veronica has no real idea of what she's doing and theres all these different measurements and prices she has to remember and the store is much busier than expected so she had less time to learn than expected

Mac is constantly having to come over and show her something or fix a mistake she made

They decide to move her over to the making candy part and somehow she does even worse

She mixes up a lot of things and ruins a few batches of different stuff

By the closing she feels super embarrassed that she couldn't do some simple stuff and she's pretty sure she's gonna get fired, especially considering that she screwed up in front of the Heathers

But to her surprise the Heathers apologize to her

They say they should've known that Saturday was gonna be a busy day and not a good day to start her training and they take the blame for her failures

They say they're all gonna come in early tomorrow and teach her right this time

Veronica is just dumbstruck that the motherfucking Heathers actually apologized to someone and just goes uh huh yeah before running off

She goes home and tells Martha and Betty and they're convinced that the Heathers are gonna pull some kind of trick to get their revenge for her messing up

Veronica is not fully convinced, sure the Heathers were mean in High School, well mean is an understatement, they were downright evil, but they were still just teenagers and they have had time to change

Even still she goes into work the next day keeping an eye out for any funny business

She goes in half expecting to see the Heathers just standing there ready to laugh at her

But instead they take the time to teach her everything and point out little tips on how to remember certain things

Mac even took the time to print out a sheet and tape it next to the register with all the prices and instructions on how to ring up different candy

Veronica is the first employee they've had and so they didn't really realize that a new employee would need time to learn the ropes

By the time they open Veronica has a handle on most things and while she still needs a little help here and there she's got a hang of most things

From then on things start to improve

While they work the Heathers talk to her about whatever and she learns a lot about them

She learns that Mac loves animals and has a pet rabbit named Munchkin and that she donates a portion of the profit to the local animal shelter each month

She learns that Duke likes to read classic books but they also bond over their shared love of all things creepy and just plain weird

And while she doesn't see much of Chandler she learns that she is truly dedicated to their business and that she really just wants to make candy that people will enjoy

Every day she comes home with her bag of leftover candy which her and Betty and Martha just consume

Things are looking up that is until she sees something she probably wasn't supposed to

She came in early one day bc she just happened to get to the mall early one day and she sees Mac and Duke making out on the counter

She quickly walks away and prays that they didn't see her, which luckily she didn't

She assumed the Heathers were just allies, they didn't strike her as gay, but she knew they weren't homophobes because they had made some rainbow candy and specifically sold it as pride

In hindsight that and the color coded outfits should have tipped her off but at the time the idea that the Heathers were anything but straight never crossed their mind

If they would have been out at Westerburg they would have been even lower on the totem pole and Veronica and her friends, so the very idea that they were gay was unthinkable

She's a little awkward around them for the rest of the day but she eventually forgets about it and moves on

That is until a few weeks later the same thing happens but this time its Mac and Chandler that are making out

Luckily they don't see her either but Veronica is outraged that Mac is cheating on one of them, she doesn't know which but she's angered on behalf of whichever one

She's really cold to Mac that day, she doesn't respond to her attempts to make conversation, etc.

This really upsets Mac bc she doesn't know what she did or why Veronica is being so cold to her and eventually she starts crying

This pisses off Duke and Chandler and they demand to know whats Veronica's damage

Veronica admits that she saw Duke and Mac kissing one morning and this morning she saw Mac and Chandler kissing and that Mac is cheating on one of them

They all look at her and then they all just start laughing

Veronica is super confused as to why they are laughing at this really serious thing

It takes a few minutes before Duke calms down enough to explain that they're all in a polyamorous relationship which they explain to her is when multiple people are dating each other which the other's consent

Veronica goes ohhhhhhhh and apologizes to Mac which she accepts saying that it was perfectly reasonable, if she didn't know and saw what she say she would act the same way

They decide to tell her the story of their lives and why they decided to open a Candy Store

They assume she went to Westerburg and that's why she was so weary of them in the beginning (Veronica didn't notice they picked up on that) so they made an effort to be nice and welcoming to her to show that they've really changed since high school

They say that they've all been dating since Junior Year, Mac and Chandler since Freshmen, friends for years before that, and that they've always had a dream to open a Candy Store and just make and sell candy all day

Candy makes people happy and its just plain fun to make and in a way it makes them feel better about how they acted in school, they've hurt a lot of people but with their store they can put some good back into the world

Another first but they apologize to her for how they acted in high school, they didn't do anything to her specifically but they know how awful they were, but it was a kill or be killed situation which Veronica understands

She tells them that while she accepts their apology, there's someone else that they really need to apologize to, her friend Martha

The Heather's eyes widen as they remember who Veronica is

They tell her that one day they will apologize to Martha and explain everything, and Veronica says thats good enough for now

Now that the secret's out the Heathers are a lot more affectionate with each other around Veronica and it starts to make her feel a certain way

As a bisexual disaster herself she's always thought the Heathers were attractive, but with how genuine they were with her and how clear it was that they had changed and were remorseful for how they acted back at school she starts to develop feelings for them

As it turns out the Heathers also feel the same

It starts out with light flirting, just jokes that they say they can make now that the secrets out but it slowly turns into something more

Mac was always physically affectionate with everyone, but her touches start to linger and little longer than usual

When her and Duke talk about whatever and she makes Duke laugh and she looks Veronica in the eyes and it lasts just too long to be friendly

And she sees Chandler watch her interact with her gfs with this small smile on her face

Eventually there comes a day where things are really slow and her and Mac are standing at the register just talking and she makes Mac laugh and when she calms down she leans in for a kiss

Veronica, on autopilot bc this pretty girl is kissing her kisses back until her brain wakes up and goes 'VERONICA YOU IDIOT SHE IS IN A RELATIONSHIP' and she pulls away

Neither Duke or Chandler seem mad, they're more annoyed with Mac and they're like 'goddamnit Mac we weren't gonna tell her yet' and Veronica is just so confused

Basically they admit to her that they've liked her for a while now and they were planning to make this whole big surprise involving a crap ton of candy to ask her to join their relationship

Veronica, obviously going to join the relationship is like you guys didn't have to do all of that of course I'm gonna join

They decide to close early that day and just spend the entire day just eating candy and making out

However, Veronica knows they'res one last thing they have to do before she'll fully join

She invites the Heathers over to her apartment to finally make good on their promise to apologize to Martha and Betty for how they acted in high school

They decide to do it over dinner, and its really tense

No one is saying anything, and they're all just waiting for someone else to start talking

Eventually Veronica breaks the ice to tell them that the Heathers have something they would like to say to them and before they can open their mouths Martha launches into a rant about how horribly they treated her and her friends and how they tugged at her heartstrings and just layed into them

Once Martha calms down the Heathers begin to apologize

They say how they know what they did was wrong and that they wish they could take it all back but they can't and that all they can really do is move forward and try to make peace with the past

They also tell her their rationale for opening their store, the same as they told Veronica

They also offer her a pass which would allow her to get as much candy from their store as she pleases for free as a sign of goodwill

Martha stays silent for a moment before saying that she doesn't forgive them and probably never will, but she can't spend the rest of her life hating them and that she would also like to let the past be in the past and move forward

Veronica shows up to work a few days later when she is intercepted by Mac who puts a blindfold around her eyes and walks her towards the store where Chandler and Duke are waiting

The blindfold is removed to reveal that the store has a new sign stating "Heathers' + Veronica's Candy Store"

Planets in Hellenistic Astrology — part 1 : the ascendant + the luminaries (sun/moon).

Where modern astrology places the emphasis on signs, traditional astrology deems planets THE most important part of the practice. It places planets as actors whereas everything else serves as setting, stage & costumes.

The form of astrology I practice focuses on the use of the 7 traditional planets, as outers (Uranus/Neptune/Pluto) had yet to be identified due to their invisibility to the naked eye — and though I still use them, I don’t emphasize them as much. The 7 traditional planets are usually divided thus: the Luminaries (Sun/Moon), fast-moving Personal Planets (Mercury/Venus/Mars) and slow-moving Social Planets (Jupiter/Saturn).

Now that we got that out of the way, moving on to the actual point of the post,

The core of the chart : the sun, moon & rising.

The core of the chart is represented by the luminaries plus the ascendant. I sadly often come across descriptions of this triad that are too vague or not explained clearly & understandably, which often leads to widespread misconceptions around what these three components represent (especially the sun + ascendant).

Simply put, the Sun and Moon represent the two energy or power sources of the body/mind — as these Celestial Bodies provide most of the light in the heavens. They are luminary bodies that carry distinct energies and symbolize archetypal influences that manifest based on their sign, house, and aspect placements.

The Sun is the emissive luminary & shows how one’s vital energies are spent. The Moon is the receptive luminary & shows how one’s energies are regenerated & recalibrated. The Sun and Moon combined represent the driver, where the Sun signifies the driver's actions, and the Moon signifies their reactions. The Ascendant, on the other hand, serves as the vehicle steered by the influences of the Sun and Moon.

— Starting with the Sun,

The Sun, through the annual cycle of solstices and equinoxes, establishes the seasons of the year. In a chart, the sun directly corresponds to the themes of the whole sign house of Leo. Much like the sun enables visibility in the universe, it allows topics ruled by the sun (i.e, whichever house Leo occupies in one’s chart) to become prominently visible in our lives. As an example, if Leo is in your first house, the sun represents your identity, what with it ruling your first house of self, and if Leo is in your fifth house, it signifies that the sun rules over matters related to your pleasure, sexual and romantic pursuits and enjoyment of life, and so on for other house placements.

A birth chart is a comprehensive map of your entire life, encompassing more than just your personality traits — with this in mind, the rising sign (being the 1st house) holds a direct connection to you. It directly signifies you — your physical form, your identity, personality, character, and overall vitality.

I want to clarify that the ascendant being the you indicator in a chart does not imply that it encapsulates the totality of your essence. Astrology is nuanced, complex & there is no such thing as a “core” self. It’s not sun, not the moon, & not the rising either. Humans are all too complex for such oversimplifications and astrology mirrors that. Nevertheless, the rising sign remains the primary indicator you’d look at where “me” topics such personality are concerned.

It also important to note that the rising sign dictates the trajectory of transits within your natal chart, forming the basis for horoscopes and forecasts. So when reading horoscopes, go with your rising sign!

Fun fact: historically, when asked for your sign, you were expected to answer with your rising sign, a practice prevalent for millennia & until around a century ago. The shift towards sun signs was, simply put, an accident in history (thanks, Alan Leo!)

Snow White ran away from home after her evil step mother had her father killed due to a prophecy made by a magic mirror that could foretell one’s grace and beauty. The Evil Stepmother was jealous and ordered Snow White’s death, in which she escaped into the forest and into 7 dwarfs who protected her. One day, an old crone came upon Snow White and offered her an apple. This apple was poisonous. Then there’s the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden; as well as, the Golden Apple of Avalon.

Is Shez evil?

The thought occurred to me last night, but I think it's worth discussing. Do we play as an evil character in Hopes? Now, the Hopes!Devs did say that the war wasn't a matter of good vs evil and that it's all a matter of perspective. However, they also said that Hopes wasn't meant to replace Houses, and therefore we can apply the morality of Houses to it.

Shez is implied to be from Shambhala, making them an Agarthan. We all know that the Fodlan games use Buddhist symbolism, and Agartha is where the Asura's were banished by the Bodhisattva when they became drunk on their own power and from there they wage war against the Bodhisattva and the benevolent devas. Tellingly, Shez's unique final class is Asura, cementing this idea.

When I was looking up stuff concerning the Asuras and their world, I found this.

Nichiren defines the characteristic of (The world of the Asuras) as “perverse,” or more literally, “fawning and crooked.” Out of extreme pride or a sense of superiority, people in this condition tend to conceal their real motives and flatter others to win praise. While outwardly courteous, however, they inwardly look down on others. Such a person’s self-image is distorted and unbalanced, colored by extreme pride or a sense of superiority; the self is perceived as extremely large and important, and others as small and unimportant. Those who remain in this state ultimately do harm to themselves through their own conceit.

There was something about this that really hit with Shez. Shez's motivation is to get revenge on Byleth for wiping out their former mercenary unit. It seems like a normal motivation, but Shez also has quotes where they talk about how what happened to them is just the nature of the profession. These quotes make Shez come across as hypocritical. But the nature of the Asura realm would suggest that Shez is just putting on a metaphorical mask, saying things that sound nice while keeping their true motives hidden. It's still on Shez on whether or not they go after Byleth, and Arval not letting go of this motivation, attacking Byleth that leads to Arval's own downfall.

But at the same time, Shez doesn't lose their power like what happens to Byleth at the end of Flower. They don't stop being an Asura. They will still support Edelgard even though her path is supposed to be immoral according to Houses. Shez can confirm that Edelgard is oppressing the commoners under her rule, but unlike Byleth won't lead the BE in opposing her. Their influence on Claude ultimately leads to Claude going down a similar path, meaning it's because of Shez that Claude kills Rhea as he gives into his own hatred. Even with Dimitri, Shez had no problem when Dimitri and company's motives for the war changed to revenge, and Dimitri then continues the war after the defeat of Edelgard and Thales in order to punish the Empire. Then there's Shez's whole “I'm just a merc” gig, he's saying he's nothing more than someone paid to kill others regardless of morality.

With this in mind, we can make a judgement call. Shez, despite appearances, isn't a moral person. Shez might believe that this war is morally ambiguous, who is right or wrong a matter of perspective, but they're someone who kills for money as well as using the war for revenge which could put them into immoral territory, as they're willing to facilitate the suffering of others for their own goals, a big no-no in Buddhism. They don't care if they're the aggressor or playing defence. They're not amoral, ignorant of and not influenced by morality, like Byleth starts off as and from that they end up poisoning Fodlan. Because Shez shows up as the lords flee Kostas, they don't meet Byleth at Remire. They don't lead the lords to a better Fodlan, they just help them fight a war that's not even over at the end of the route.

Shez might appear to be nice, but we should have known better after Edelgard. As to whether they're evil, evil is defined as being “profoundly immoral.” Shez killing Byleth and by extension Sothis, living up to being an Asura, would push them into being evil, and their POV goes against the morality of Houses. That, and the Asura realm is called one of the four evil paths.
