fighting words - eddie diaz x reader
Based on this request: Oooh maybe a like fic where reader is Chris step mom and he got in trouble for something and Eddie is scolding him but reader tells Eddie that it’s not a big deal and he shouldn’t yell and talk to Chris like that and he basically tells her that she’s his step mom not his real mom so she has no say and reader ofc gets upset and leaves BUT they both work together at the 118 and she ignores him and stuff!
Tumblr media
"Chris, there is a reason why you have a curfew! You have to respect it!" Eddie scolds Chris, hands on his hips, eyes wide and frightened.
Chris sits with his jaw clenched, looking so much like his father when he's upset, remaining silent.
"Hey Eddie," you say softly, "maybe we can talk about this in the morning? After all, he was only a few minutes late."
"No, you're not his actual parent, this doesn't concern you!" Eddie snaps, and just as soon as the words come out of his mouth, Eddie is filled with dread and regret.
You flinch but nod firmly, grabbing your car keys before leaving for the night.
One of the worst parts of working with your friends and husband is that everyone knows everyone's business. You walk into the 118 the next day, pulling on your uniform, and steadfastly ignore Eddie despite his locker being right next to yours.
You pair up with Ravi for errands, you sit down in between Hen and Chim for lunch, and play foosball with Buck, but completely avoid being next to him or interacting with him.
You can feel his pitiful, regret-filled eyes on you the whole day. You lean as much as you can towards Hen in the engine, trying to avoid Eddie's knees knocking against yours - a gesture that is usually comforting for you. You remain a consummate professional though - you complete the tasks asked of you, just without sparing him a single glance.
"Jeez, man. What did you do?" You hear Buck ask Eddie after lunch. Mealtimes are moments when the two of you are normally constantly in each other's bubble, and literally everyone caught onto the tension.
"Hey, Y/N. Can I speak to you?" Bobby asks, kind eyes on yours.
You nod and follow Bobby into his office. The second your butt hits the chair, and you hear the click of his door closing, you blurt out: "I've been a professional, Cap!"
Bobby blinks in surprise, but recovers quickly. "I know you've been. But we noticed that something was wrong regardless because we know and care about you both. Do you want to talk about it, kid?"
You worry your bottom lip between your teeth before choking it out, emotion heavy in your voice. "He said I wasn't Chris' parent, Cap."
Bobby winces. "What was the context?"
"Chris came home after curfew."
"Sounds like it was said out of fear. Not that I'm excusing it - but a lot of the times people can say unfair and untrue things when they're scared."
You exhale, nodding because you did understand why he could've said it. It didn't make it hurt any less though. Nevertheless, you know the two of you need to have a conversation; you were just prolonging the inevitable at this point.
Which brings you to the end of the shift, where you stood in front of Eddie's Jeep in the parking lot.
"Y/N." Eddie breathes in both disbelief and relief at the sight of you actually waiting for him. "I'm so sorry, baby. I didn't mean it. You are Chris' parent, and you have been ever since you came into his life. I was just so scared last night when he didn't come home on time."
"I can understand that fear, Eddie. But, you hurt me when you said that. I didn't deserve that."
"I know. I think I've been so used to parenting Chris by myself that I forgot I have you. I have an amazing partner. I know that I hurt you, but I'm going to spend the next however long trying to make it up to you."
You give him a small nod, and an equally small smile - one that grows bigger the more you look at him. You never could stay mad at Eddie for long.
"Can I kiss you?" Eddie questions, a little shy.
"Please." You answer, and you feel your husband's firm lips on yours. The kiss is a reconciliation; a little desperate and a lot passionate, especially for a fire station parking lot.
"Get a room!" Buck yells from across the lot, before Hen smacks his shoulder.
The two of you giggle into each other's mouth. Eddie separates just enough to ask, "Let's go home?"
"Let's." You confirm, getting into the passenger seat of his Jeep, where you rightfully belong.

I think more ppl need to see this
Tumblr media
Yeah for real lol. That's exactly what it is with him. Not to toot my own horn too much but I believe this post I made ages ago hits the nail on the head haha
"I'm bored" is... technically true. In a sense. Personally, I think it's a very simple and vague allusion to the real problem. That thin sheet of snow coating a massive, freezing cold iceberg. Just barely obscuring it from proper view.
imo it's been a bit disappointing seeing people take to extremes with Burning Spice's character. I've seen people either woobify him, downplay or excuse his actions by saying "he's not evil! He's hurting! He's depressed! He doesn't hate people, he's lashing out because he can't internalize his pain anymore!", or just demand he be put to death immediately on sight without trial. You can like a morally repulsive character and sympathize with their issues while also acknowledging that they're repulsive and need to face justice for their crimes. Burning Spice is one of my favorite characters, I love everything about him, he's sexy as fuck, I understand why he's the way he is, I'm still happy to see his ass beat because he's a piece of shit and he deserves it lol.
Not to throw shade at "simpler" villains ofc. I love me some assholes that are assholes just because they can be. Like Jack Horner in Puss in Boots 2. But Burning Spice isn't Jack Horner and he honestly shouldn't be. The deeper, sadder, more complex reasons governing his actions suit him better than just "I'm bored fuck this shit" and nothing else ykwim
and of course, he's still wrong. Burning Spice's view of the world is wrong. Does a book begin just to end? Does a song play just to finish in a few minutes' time? No. They begin so that we may read, listen, and enjoy. So that they may make us laugh, or have us shake our heads in disappointment, or tell us some hidden truth. Make our days and lives a little more interesting than they were before. Life is beautiful BECAUSE it is fleeting. Born, grow, wither, born, grow, wither. Yes, that's how it goes. But there's so much more to those things than just what we can gather from those three words. Every day is different. Though the sun rises every morning without fail, it's never quite the same color, is it? Always a bit of a different shade of yellow, orange, red, bleeding into the sky a little differently each time. There are so many things to see and do, games to play, people to meet and love and cherish. Maybe some of those things and those people won't be here someday but that doesn't mean their existence never meant anything. We are not born to die, we are born to live. We must die for those who are to live, and live for those who have died. Regardless, we must never lose sight of the intrinsic value of all that surrounds us. Burning Spice very much did. Underneath his bitterness and anger and (not unfounded, to be fair) lamentation for the unstoppable cycle of life and death is a deep-rooted selfishness and fundamental lack of understanding and appreciation for life and other people. In the face of despair, he gave in and chose evil. He was and is wrong for doing so, regardless of why he did it. He could've stepped down. He could've just admitted he didn't have what it took to be the Herald of Change. Hell, if he really hates being alive so much, he would've committed suicide a LONG time ago. But he never did any of that; instead he chose to inflict an equal or greater suffering on everything and everyone else, even the undeserving. And for that he MUST pay. And Golden Cheese, with her personality and her experiences and the wisdom she came to attain when faced with the exact same despair as Burning Spice, is exactly the right person to make him do that

Hey! I'm sending this not because I want to direct hate at you, but because I'm very concerned with how one of your characters is depicted. As someone who deals with psychosis and severe delusions, LM Spirit can be seen as making fun of those delusions. Spirit's gag is that he "thinks he's a train" and as a result "eats coal" because he believes that he is a train. That's really all there is to his character. It does not help that this is excused away as him being "stupid". That's not stupidity, that's delusional behaviour coupled with an eating disorder (Pica) 😭😭
Again, I don't mean for this to come off mean, or hateful, nor do I mean this in bad faith. I just mean this as someone who battles with psychosis and delusions. We're constantly the butt of the joke--and if we aren't, we're being demonised. I know you mean well and I cannot imagine that you came from a place of genuinely wanting to make fun of severe illness; but it is making fun of severe mental illness. I think the lack of intent doesn't take away from the fact that it's still hurtful. I understand that he isn't actually in the main story, but he's still included in your AU and you still have jokes that make fun of his delusions. Even if you didn't intend for it, the effect is definitely still there and it's worth changing so it's a little more sensitive towards mental illness in the future.
Please don't construe this as hate, because it isn't and please don't be demotivated by this either. Everyone makes mistakes, and sometimes they can be hurtful, but at the end of the day; just as everyone is capable of making mistakes, they're equally capable of fixing them too.
Oh, I'm so truly sorry that I hurt any of you guys! and that it made you feel like the butt of the joke. that was totally on me! Spirit doesn’t actually think he is a train, he is mostly just imagining for the fun of it- just like you do when you want to fly or breathe underwater. There is a lot more to his character that I have sadly not shared yet. Spirit does not have psychosis and severe delusions or an eating disorder (Pica) plz do not put mental illnesses on my characters. I did not intend to write that at all for him. His coal-eating obsession is ofc very harmful- but he is a fictional character. just like Wild eating rocks, right? coal is just a fancy rock XD I will of course take this seriously and not make the joke anymore. Thanks for telling me so I can change my actions and do better! and have a very good day/night!

New to both F1 and lestappan Fandom but one thing that doesn't fit right to me is that why does most of the fanfic tries to portray max "as less pretty " or not that good looking..I mean oky I get it most people r more biased toward charles but excuse me how can u all find MAX UNATTRACTIVE?LIKE HOWW ???even before i joined this f1 fandom ,i knew about charles leclerc and max and frm the very 1st glance i was mesmerized by max's glittering blue eyes and finally cuz of my frnd (and ofc max)i joined this Fandom.i was literally expecting ballads written about Max's gorgeous eyes,his natural cherry red lips,the Virgin blush that always persists on his face and that voice*sighs* but I was surprised it wasn't like that in the Fandom????idk why I mean I get it charles is equally just as attractive and I have seen in fics talking about his beautiful appreance but never about max???I'm not getting it why is this Fandom projecting that max is ugly?
Welcome to the fandom anon.
This is really interesting and is kind of in line with something I was saying the other day about how some people downplay Charles’ driving and downplay Max’s good looks.
I think they are both good looking but I do find Max to be the more attractive one, which is of course just a personal preference. (There are most definitely drivers on the grid who people think are really good looking and I just can’t understand it at all so I guess we are all different).
I think I have managed to find my way into a nice little corner of the fandom because I seem to be surrounded by people who also find Max ridiculously attractive and write about how beautiful he is. I know I like to write about how good looking he is. I think I’ve just managed to stay away from people writing Max as ugly.
One thing I have seen quite often in stories though is Max being self conscious of his looks whereas I see this less in Charles fics. I do think this is because of the type of content both drivers have traditionally posted on social media in real life as this can give the impression (rightly or wrongly) that Charles is more aware he is good looking.
I think I am just in a nice little fandom bubble which is full of love for Max (and I am very happy to remain in that bubble). My suspension of disbelief in fan fiction can extend quite far but I am not sure it could extend to believing that Max is ugly, to me he is the most attractive on the grid!

hi same anon here i just finished the lim life jimmy fic and oh my GOD (again but with more emphasis). jimmy's bitterness at being the outsider hit too close to home it was so good and the gribeans and all the unreliable narrator and the character interactions and bad boys being dysfunctional and-
HAHAKSDJSA THANK YOU SM AGAIN!!! jimmy in that fic is so tragic to me like he never gets what he wants he never gets to be part of whatever grian and joel have going on and he never even really knows what grian and joel have going on (he's the final boss of unreliable narrators in that fic)
i think one of the main things for jimmy in only my lover is that he gets really pissed at grian and joel for excluding him and yet, he can't stop himself from wanting to be included. because he has such a reverence for the two of them and all he wants is to be their equal even though he knows he'll never get it.
AND THE GRIBEANS OFC!!! they understand each other so well like i want there to be an aspect of you see how they get each other and you can't entirely blame them for excluding jimmy bc grian and joel share something that jimmy doesn't get about them.
the bad boys are so special to me theyre so dysfunctional i cant be normal about them i am so Not Normal about them
this is my excuse to ramble about only my lover a little bit but that fic is so special to me because i have so many notes on what was actually happening in all the scenes that jimmy witnesses in that fic and while writing, i'd usually start with that idea of what actually happened and then i'd twist it to be from jimmy's perspective and how he misunderstands things. one of the most notable being how jimmy gets really petty about neither joel nor grian offering to give him any time, but if you've watched joel's limlife pov, you know that he was planning on giving time to jimmy, he just hadn't told him yet. OR THE SCENE WHERE JIMMY LEAVES IN THE MIDDLE OF JOEL AND GRIANS CONVO like the way the rest of that convo played out is so vivid in my head but it's so important to me that jimmy just Never knows what they said because he's just Not part of that.
SORRY IDK WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT NOW IM JUST RAMBLING. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR ASKS THEY REALLY MEAN SO MUCH TO ME <3

Why does ikegen seems like it has few fandoms. I'm only judging since it seems only a few translates it in tmblr. But could it be the reason why it doesn't get an English release.
Who knows why they aren't releasing it in eng. Either they think that the eng fandom doesn't really care because no one from the eng fandom was hyping up the game on its release like we all do now for ikepri and ikevil or maybe it could be this one comment I read:
Tumblr media
Saying that we eng players won't understand Japanese mythology is a bullshit excuse because I went into this game 'BLINDLY'. Do you know what blindly means? I didn't watch any trailers or read the basic premise of the game's story. Heck, I didn't even know Yoritomo and Yoshitsune and all the other male leads (except for demons and Sueharu) were real-life people. I didn't know the actual history about them at all. You see, when I first played ikevamp and ikesen, I at least knew that the male leads were based on real people. For example, I knew Nobunaga was a real-life samurai and that's all. I still played the game, ikegen because it looked very pretty. After playing the game for almost 4years, I can say that----Yes! this game does mention real life events such as the Genpei war and stuff. What I can tell you is that, even if you don't have any knowledge about the Japanese history or mythology, you can still enjoy this game as much. What this does is that, this game makes you curious as to what actually happened in real life. So that excuse about players not knowing mythology is not an excuse because if someone as dumb as me can understand, then you intelligent people can understand it too.
I don't know why, but the last comment makes me salty for no reason but it could also be true. Ofc ikepri is ikesen level popular in jp and overseas, but that doesn't mean that ikegen is any less popular. My Twitter is filled with Jp players and they all love to talk about ikegen 24/7. They come up with stupid ideas and theories and it's fun to read. Not to forget, their fanart and fanfic are very juicy most of the time. Ofc they also write and draw other ikemen games as well, but they all show equal love to every ikemen game. If you wanna check out some cool fan work of ikegen go to this link.
Also if you have seen the last ikegen anniversary general election it went from mere 4m total votes to 20m total votes. That's actually incredible when I saw it because I thought the total votes would drop. So there is a fandom in Jp that are ready to whale for ikegen I swear. I don't really know about the eng fandom. They all are interested but they don't want to try it out because its in jp (and I swear half of these are also the ones who play ikevil and ikepri in JP *angry grudge noises*). Yeah, do whatever you like. Thank you for making me salty for no reason!! *making angry grudge noises*

For research purposes, I need to know your top 4 absolute favourite anime characters. (and your birthday if you're comfortable sharing)
~ Nanami Flowershop Anon
i'm a july leo if that's decent enough info for you! i've been told that i don't usually give off that vibe, but maybe online i come off more extroverted and outgoing?? in person i'm very shy and AWKWARD ASF till i get to know you- then i'm annoying and awkward <3
ok i could not possibly pit these characters against each other so this is in NO SPECIFIC ORDER ok? its just my top four IN NO ORDER I LOVE THEM ALL EQUALLY
also they're all jjk bc while i like other animes, i love jjk (duh) and haven't found anything that's made me feel the same
megumi came to mind first tho, i've been attached to him since i first watched the anime. i love how confident he is in his sense of morality and i relate a lot to that. (not to mention at the time i was going thru a breakup with my childhood best friend over some morally gray stuff an i was heartbroken having to distance myself from them bcuz of what they were doing/excusing.) so to see a character with an unapologetic set of beliefs that in a lot of ways alligned with mine was so comforting. he's also just really neat and cute so 10/10 all around
geto comes to mind next and before anyone jumps down my throat bcuz i don't write for him-- i love him for the way his character is written!!!! what he went through before defecting?? again i just get so enamored with a character fighting/developing their morals. suguru is kinda the opposite of megumi in this case but god i just eat it up every time. i'm definitely someone that doesn't blame him too much for doing what he did ngl... is he extreme? yah... but before kenjaku took over i just loved how he was ready to go to any lengths to protect what/who he cared about (sorry gojo)
gojo ofc makes the list and not just bc he's a pretty princess!! i think he's a wonderfully written character that a lot of people don't fully understand?? i see a lot of ppl getting upet bc of how overpowered he is (like relax that's why he was in that box forever bruh) but miss the point completely? as powerful as he is he's so lonely? everything he's ever loved gets taken from him in some way? (side note i think that's why we see how often shoko feels alone/left out, i think he actively put a distance between them because he couldn't lose her too/she reminded him too much of their shared trauma </3) and you RARELY see him actually showing his emotions, for the most part he only shows what he allows others to see. he's so upbeat all the time but he's so isolated!!!! oldest sibling vibe fr
i really can't settle on a fourth i'm arguing w myself about it so there's a top three. but know that i WOULD HAVE SAID yuuta just bc he's unhinged and babygirl at the same time and those are my favorite traits in a fictional man <3

I mean... it's possible for Cassandra’s feelings to make sense and for her to be justified in some ways, AND for her to have treated Adira poorly too? And actually, these two ideas are complementary and kind of go together?
In S2, Cass is defensive and assumes the worst about Adira. But her instincts aren't entirely wrong- Adira does withhold information, and she sometimes endangers the group.
I think Cass’ attitude there is understandable as a response to this in combination with her own insecurities and internal conflicts.
So starting from the top, I think that on the most basic level, Adira and Cassandra have a pretty big personality clash. Cass is guarded, slow to trust, and insecure. Adira isn't dishonest, but she is very cryptic, and socially she's extremely blunt. Cass is hot-blooded while Adira is... cool. This isn't the only reason for their conflicts, but it definitely contributes; the high stakes of the quest they're on just exacerbates the tension and their differences.
That said, their first meeting is kind of a trainwreck, and I do put that one squarely on Cass. It IS reasonable that she's suspicious of Adira and doesn't want her to be alone with Rapunzel, but she actively escalates that situation into a full blown fight. Adira asks her twice not to touch her so they can do things "the nice way", and Cass' response to this simple request is to ask "where's the fun in that" with a smile- she's raring to go.
(Let's also note that Raps doesn't handle this situation fantastically either: she says they should hear Adira out, but her attempts to deescalate the situation are pretty feeble. She joins the fray, then lassos Adira's wrist when she tries to make peace with Cass.)
But beyond that, I think there's more ambiguity. Like a lot of discussion centers around Cass and Adira butting heads in RatGT, and her hostility towards Adira in that episode.
But honestly? Going through the Tree was a terrible judgment call. Adira led them there because of her overconfidence as a guide. Camping out in the Tree when they’re being actively pursued, as Adira suggests, was also a bad decision with disastrous consequences.
Cass is the only one who speaks up that these are bad ideas, increasingly aggressively because no one is listening to her or acknowledging her valid concerns, and she’s the one who ends up paying the price for their choices when Hector inevitably catches up like she’d warned.
Her being justified, feeling like the group (Rapunzel) isn’t listening to her, and lashing out at Adira/resenting her are connected.
Going back to Adira being cryptic and that being dangerous- objectively, she doesn’t tell the party that the Great Tree is associated with ZT, or warn them about the possibility of Hector (or Edmund) being a threat until he shows up. She also doesn’t tell any of them that Rapunzel could die from uniting with the moonstone until they're already at the DK. (Tbf, Rapunzel thought not returning was a possibility as early as Freebird- but it's still something Adira fails to disclose.)
And S3 Cass is a victim... of bad writing lmao. The mind trap is the big thing there, and yeah obviously it's bad.
The writing in the show does not treat Cass mind controlling her enemies seriously or give it the gravity it deserves as a plot point, we know this and I've talked about it before. A lot of problems come back to that.
Notably, in the series finale, there's a moment where Rapunzel mentions Adira in the context of the moonstone and Cass just kind of scoffs.
To us in the fandom, it seems a bit insulting that Cass would roll her eyes and not express any remorse at the mention of the woman she's been using as her puppet (and it's equally bad that Rapunzel wouldn't say anything!), but it's consistent w/ the show's treatment of the mind trap plot.
So while I enjoy taking that plot at face value in some ways, the writing being iffy and the consequent characterization wonk is smth I think is good to keep in mind when considering stuff like Cass’ treatment of Adira- just as it’s good to keep that in mind w/ S3′s treatment of the Brotherhood, or Edmund, or Quirin, or Lance.
Anwyay TL;DR my takes:
S2: Solidly written, poor communication skills and personality conflicts at work. There’s a lot of interesting greyness.
S3: Messy writing in some respects, and the characterization on almost everyone suffers. Grey but in a muddled way.

more thoughts ab chuuya cause no one compares
was just looking on shitty bsd memes and realised (a little late ig) that 18 Chuuya didn't wear his black coat.
so yes have to overthink it. (a lot of spoilers from Stormbringer, maybe Dead Apple and Beast)
his hat is from Rimbaud, even if Mori physically gave it to him, it's the symbol of his trust to the Port Mafia since he swore to give himself to the organisation. but at least in his first year or so, he didn't really care about the Mafia. He saw himself as a mafioso, but wasn't nearly as tied to it. He was tied to the Flags and the Sheep and to his friends in the Mafia, but what happened in Stormbringer kind of left him with nothing but the Mafia (I love the idea of Chuuya staying in contact with Adam and Shirase, but they're so far from him so it's difficult), and a new bond to it. He learned about himself, so him staying there became something different. His hat is important to him and his bond with Rimbaud and Verlaine, who freed him from the lab (and tried to kill him btw) so yes, it was there from the beginning.
his choker? we don't know much- we don't know anything. He didn't have it when he met Dazai, ofc, but in the "don't forget that you're my dog" scene, probably set after a few days, Chuuya wears a choker, probably from Kouyou like his new clothes, and we see him wearing it even after seven years.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plain black, probably leather, but the problem is with bones that removed the metal thing in the middle- something that pains me deeply, considering that in official anime arts THEY GAVE HIM THE METAL STRAP-THING SO WHY REMOVE IT IN THE ANIME ITS NOT SO DIFFICULT TO DRAW but yeah
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the first is a dead apple illustration, the other 22!Chuuya, and even in Beast he has it. So, Kouyou gave it to him, but since we haven't got illustration for the fifteen era (at least not for the "you're my dog" scene) and Fifteen still has to reach the last part of the light novel, we don't know about Chuuya's first choker. If I have to be honest, I have two headcanons and I'm not able to choose between them: -Kouyou gifted him his choker and he wears it for more than seven years. like Rimbaud indirectly gave him his hat, Kouyou gave him a choker. They have a close relationship: she's his mentor when he's young for at least a year (she's not mentioned in Stormbringer and Chuuya already has an important position in the Mafia so her training likely already ended), and even when they're equals as executives Chuuya values her opinion and they share a strong bond. So yeah, the choker represents their bond -Dazai gifted him a new choker, the one with the metal thing, a little before Stormbringer. he even had an excuse to do so: Chuuya took his place as "head" of the mafia's jewels trade, so he could have give Chuuya the choker as a symbol of that transition of power/role (the Mafia thing- gifting things). Chuuya likely hated it but wear it anyway cause yk fashion and manners (that draw of Chuuya and Albatross vibing together after Dazai gifted his dog the choker is my life) and that's it. And yes also for the "after four years he still wears it"
but the coat. what the hell is it doing here? Chuuya wears it in his first days maybe, but ditched it, considering that he doesn't wear it in Stormbringer and Dead Apple
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I'm trying to understand what the hell he's wearing in dead apple and I'm not being successful) He didn't wear it when he was eighteen. We don't see him in the second season's light novel adaptation, but in the official arts he's always wearing his jacket, not his coat. So he likely started to wear it again after Dazai's deflection, but who gave it to him again, who invited him to do it? He's sentimental when talking ab his clothes and hair, so it was either him wanting to wear it as his importance and popularity rose, as he learned how to be the successful-executive-strongest-man he perfectionated when alone (he didn't get a new partner, since there wasn't another diamond- he was alone in this sense), or Mori made him wear it.
it's pretty obvious that the bond that Chuuya shares with the Mafia is nothing compared to his loyalty to the people in it. he's loyal to Mori, since he welcomed him in the Mafia, and he respects him as his boss: the "what does it mean to be a good leader" points out how Chuuya's failure as a leader (kind of- that's how he perceives it) branded his mentality, and for him Mori is a good leader, one ready to sacrifice himself for his city- so, granted respect (but with how Mori "clinged" to Dazai after his deflection that respect probably faltered a bit) he's loyal to Kouyou, like we said, as she was his mentor. he's loyal to his friends in the Mafia- they exists, so no, he wasn't isolated for four years. in Stormbringer while drugged and tortured he hallucinated and thought ab, citing him "the Flags, his friends in the Sheep, his friends in the Mafia" so he had a social life that didn't involve Dazai after the Flags' death, thank you.
most important, he's loyal to Dazai, more than anyone else. and it has nothing to do with "he follows him after Oda's death" "he joins the ADA". the beautiful and heart-shattering thing about their bond is that it has nothing to do with the Port Mafia, the ADA, Yokohama or the whole world. They're one soul in two bodies, they're the other half of each other. They're able to live without the other in their life, as in they can survive with not being together (when Dazai died in Beast he went batshit crazy. in every universe, dimension, Dazai had Chuuya near, or at least, the other couldn't be alive without the other, cause they won't stop saving each other like it's a fricking sport). Dazai leave the Mafia, and the Mafia doesn't know ab his whereabouts (Chuuya doesn't know nothing ab it, maybe he believed in the "he offed himself" rumor, but it isn't likely)
Mori is a manipulative bastard, who cares deeply about his city and the Mafia, but still an asshole who seized the opportunity. the idea of him giving Chuuya the coat he refused to wear for three years is sick but the most intriguing. as a sign that Chuuya was finally fully loyal to the Mafia, and the Mafia alone. no Sheep, Flags, or Dazai, only the Mafia and the people in it. he was finally theirs, and the coat was a sign of that.
now think about Dazai meeting Chuuya again after four years of refusing to gather informations ab his ex-partner, and seeing him wears that coat. the last "four years passed for everyone" sign.

Since it's me I am definitely interested in the Hojo disapproval mind control plot!
My favorite of them all!!! Ty ty, Errant!! I’m such a sucker for mc as a trope- and I love what you do with it too! <3
This idea was never put to paper so I’m basically gonna be writing a (STUPIDLY LONG) inexperienced IMDb summary out of thin air. Oh! And tysm Anon for being curious in the same prompt!
~~~
The story starts with Hojo sitting in the bat cave lab, glowering at a picture of Zack & Sephiroth together on their latest mission. He deems then and there that his prized specimen is being corrupted by this darn boy. Action must be taken. His Sephiroth was weakened before by trusting, and he was being weakened again. He would make sure history would never repeat itself.
Meanwhile, Zack & Seph are heading back to their quarters after Zack took his friend out for a milkshake; all while Zack teases his buddy about actually liking it but not admitting it (he's right because yes!). The two part ways when the hallway splits... but Zack forgets to give his buddy a goodnight hug and spins around to do so. Sephiroth doesn't return the hug, but offers an equally as special head pat. After the two part ways for real, Zack hears a small bang coming from the elevator and goes to investigate. The doors open, but uh-oh spaghettiooo, it's Hojo and he's got a sedative in hand (cause y'know, scientist).
Zack wakes up in Hojo’s lab strapped to a table, understandably flipping the heck out and trying to Hulk his way free. Hojo appears and immediately asks if Zack actually cares about his specimen, to which Zack adamantly affirms. Of course he does! He’s his best friend! Hojo then goes on to taunt Zack about thinking he’s any more than a replacement for Angeal & Genesis… and as Zack is too struck to speak, he produces an obviously evil purple serum and a syringe (cause y’know, scientist).
The next morning, Sephiroth walks into the office and is surprised to see Zack already scrawling away (the boy loves to sleep in). He asks Zack what got him up so early, but receives not but the very painful and very harsh… silent treatment. Ouch. Sephiroth then, in his Seph-clumsy way, tries to assure Zack that if anything’s wrong, he can tell him. Zack scoffs at that, which earns him a kinda “excuse me?” reaction from Sephiroth.
Zack walks out without warning, and Sephiroth rushes after him… only to be thrown against the wall.
“Get away from me, Sephiroth!” he snarls.
Sephiroth is frozen. That is his name, but… not. He doesn’t stop Zack after that, even as he vanishes from view. It’s only later that Sephiroth heads off to confront his friend, heading to his apartment, but finds the abode empty. Empty, and a photo of him and Sephiroth torn in half.
…The ouch has intensified beyond comprehension. He can hardly move. The only thing that pulls him out of there is a reminder notification by Hojo. Right… a Mako Booster. Oh joy.
Upon arriving, Hojo asks his hamster what seems to be bothering him. But Sephiroth doesn’t get to respond before Zack appears from behind a shelf of beakers (cause y’know, scientist), waking very ominously. Very darkly. Sephiroth demands to know what he’s done to him, but Is denied any answer; a laugh in his response, and Hojo orders his new assistant to attack Sephiroth, knowing good and well that he would ultimately have to kill the boy in order to protect himself.
But ofc, Hojo is a weasel, and is unaware of… *electric guitar riff* The power of FRIENDSHIPPPPPP!!!
Sephiroth refuses to fight his friend, taking beating after beating, and eventually being cornered into a wall (y’all know what plays out from here!). He flicks the light switch to that caretaker Seph I love so much and begins assuring Zack that he’s here, he’s right here, and he’s gonna get him out of here. Zack ignores him and retaliates with the same jabs Hojo had said to him. Struck, but unfaltered, Sephiroth admits that yes… he misses Angeal & Genesis everyday. But he wouldn’t trade anything for having Zack come into his life. Wouldn’t trade anything for the little joys like milkshakes. Zack begins to hesitate… actually hesitate… which is enough for Sephiroth to reach out, ruffling the boy’s hair.
“Don’t let him take my best friend away from me,” he whispers.
And these, the magic words, are what let Zack overpower the evil serum and hear his buddy’s voice again. The serum is coughed up, and when Zack straightens, he’s the pupper again, his voice all high-pitched and bubbly as shaken soda. He immediately sees Sephiroth only inches away, springing into his arms—where Seph is waiting for him. Hug reeeeunion!!! Hojo is enraged that *electric guitar riff* the power of FRIENDSHIPPPPPP was able to overpower his perfect science, but scurries off like a little critter when Zack & Sephiroth draw their blades. Another hug to top off their victory!
Finally, we end in Zack’s apartment, where Zack suggests they take a new photo to replace the one his evil twin ripped. Say cheeeeseee! (Seph does not.)
I'll share my point of view here, I'm Polish (and your example with Trump was a little wtf for me 😅 I can see the train of your thoughts, but it's not the best example). Americans have it easier to speak against their government, because they have freedom of speech in their country and also their culture is dominant online, so we know a lot about it and we understand the language they speak. Russians have limited abilities to share their anti-war views (I've seen some did honestly speak their minds while being interviewed by some youtubers in the streets, but there were also people whose opinions were so horrible that they'd get their asses kicked if they tried to speak like that here, their opinions are diverse indeed), so you need to talk to each person (and sometimes knock some propaganda out of their heads in a blunt way). Like, let's not pretend in countries like Russia or North Korea or Belarus (and any other regime like those) people aren't brainwashed. They are. Their opinions would often piss you off. That's because their rulers are manipulative and even if someone's open-minded they'd still have to take their time to change their mentality (and they need to want to do it, not all of them do). It's complicated. You can't compare it to democratic countries where we can have an open discussion about something. Some people might be completely cut off from a different source of information, they might have access only to one kind of media and that's it (especially when they're poor, not well-educated and live in rural areas). It's only an explanation, not an excuse ofc. Some people still have access to all information and choose to be cunts. Then you can't help it. Also us in EU/Americas often don't understand that part of the world and their mentality. Like, I really have to ask Russian speakers to explain some things to me, because I'm so clueless about everything. It applies to Ukraine, too. We don't speak Russian, so we don't fully know what's going on. Despite being a neighboring country that experienced similar shit during WWII (also from the Soviets, their army hasn't changed at all since that time). Our cultures might seem similar in many ways, but there's also that huge communication gap. We can view the situation through our own point of view, look at it through the lens of our own history and national trauma, but that's all we can do here.
So I think some Ukrainian people don't understand it that us other Europeans being open to a dialogue and giving someone a chance doesn't mean we're pro-war. Here in Poland no one loves Russia and their culture (there's zero good influence it had on ours and we want to keep their politics and army as far as possible from us, and Finland's history with them is equally bad if someone even bothers to open wikipedia and read about it), but if someone uses their brain instead of blindly following the propaganda (sometimes those conversations are difficult, they have so much bullshit shoved into their heads) then they'll be given a chance to redeem themselves. But only then. If they're pro-Putin and imperialist (being anti-Putin doesn't imply someone's views are not imperialist), then they can go fuck themselves. It's still being uncompromising, but willing to give someone a chance under certain conditions. It's always better to educate someone instead of assuming they're a completely lost cause.
In general, it's a huge communication issue and I still don't understand why some Ukrainian people think that way (I tried asking, but it also wasn't an easy conversation and I think we completely didn't understand each other). But it's a big country, so I believe they're also divided and have different opinions and we don't know what some people went through, their response might be affected by the trauma they experienced, we just watch the whole conflict from the outside and that's why our attitude is less influenced by emotions. That's completely logical, for both sides. I can understand why people don't want Russian culture to be dominating, because it affects all of us Slavs. So many ignorant people think that Slavic=Russia and Russia is only partly Slavic (and I think my whole message is a good example of how different we are here and don't understand each other at all). But that's also the fault of Hollywood and mainstream culture, and everyone shoving half of Europe into the label "Eastern Europe" instead of accepting the diversity of each country. We don't want to be perceived through the forced Russian domination in the past, and instead we want to be treated as independent countries with our own cultures. So I can totally see why supporting Russian culture might be seen as a threat, especially to Ukraine right now. The Russians want to dominate way too often and they talk that bs about us Slavs being one big family. Yes we are, but Russia is not included. Ofc it should be judged case by case, depending on its message and who's the artist. So far I haven't noticed anything offensive in Little Big's songs, but I also don't follow them very closely, so if someone has arguments about what exactly is so offensive about them (other than their nationality), they should give detailed examples.
Btw. I wonder why people haven't complained when Käärijä did a collab with Tommy, because Tommy also did collabs with Little Big 🤔. His wikipedia also says "He is reportedly of mixed ethnic Estonian, Russian, and Kazakh ancestry." Wasn't it a red flag to some people already? I am genuinely confused why it's a problem NOW, not before.
(also I hope I didn't make anyone Ukrainian person upset with my opinion, I'm just trying to explain it from my point of view, and why I don't like those kind of arguments people on twitter have)
i’m seeing a lot of ukrainians on twt being mad at jere for hanging out with lb because all russians are bad people.. i obviously can’t tell them how to feel but jere hasn’t done anything wrong
Thes is so weird to me. Like I imagine that a good part of those people must be american. Would it feel right to them if people had started to boycott every american media during the Trump presidency because of course ALL Americans agree with the goverment? This is such an obviously ridiculous statement. So why would all Russian citizens be made responsible for the crazy man governing them? Do they also think that all North Koreans are Bad People® because of their goverment???
It feels extremely performative to me. You know, so that way people around them will know that they're the Good Ones, making people take accountability for Bad stuff that they did. Without thinking if the stuff is actually bad.
Life is more nuanced than that. People are more nuanced than that. You can't choose where you were born, but you can choose how you act with the cards you've been given.
Sonya and Ilya might have been born in Russia, but they have decided to officially turn their backs to their country, to support what is fair. And that speaks volumes, much more than where their passport is from.
EDIT: I just woke up when I answered that ask and completely skipped over the part when you said that these people are ukrainians. Yeah I woldn't want to tell them how to feel either, but they should recognize that their personal feelings about this doesn't make Jere hanging out with people who are blacklisted from their home country a bad thing. Feeling upset about stuff that isn't morally wrong can happen sometimes, and if you recognize that, I see no problem with it. But if you're starting to try to cancel someone over your feelings… urgh
You really wanna make yourself look like a smart ass that knows shit.So here is some shit that other people happen to know as well.
The Amazon has been burning for years,there are reporters from all around the world that have the right to perform coverage of the news without having permission by the Brazilian government,all that thanks to NGO.
People like me would comment about any other thing getting more attention than something that literally has to do about the sake of the planet.Wanna talk about media?Why don't you go ask your lovely media why it doesn't cover up how much money was truly given by other countries all together?Because if you wanna talk about media propaganda,don't forget to add the French media in the game as well.Everyone hides information,darling.Not just the Brazilian news.Wanna rebuild Notre Dame,go ahead.But set some priorities.
You definetely have missed the point between people wanting equal media coverage to "we want people to not pay for Notre Dame."I already told you above that it's not about bringing down other monuments,it's about waking up people who think that everything's all peachy and perfect(that including the so called European democratic nations).
No need to bring up tragedy of other countries,you say...Ofc it would be more ideal if people realized the matter from the start without having to be reminded about other destructions that occurred before.But get in the real world for one sec and try to see how utopian what you're suggesting sounds.
Wanna talk about important monuments?Didn't see many people get too angry when during the othoman empire,the Acropolis was bombed.Or when during the second world War another ton of important italian ancient monuments were destroyed.But you know what?It doesn't even matter that much because there are some priorities here.I didn't say to wipe the though of the tragedy of Notre Dame out of your brain.I said that at the current moment,complaining over people who use a building for attention over another equally important matter,no matter how vital the monument is,your home,planet earth,which is literally burning deserves to get the same coverage as Notre Dame.
People say "when the Notre Dame blah blah" they reffer to the press,acts of Donators,governmental and non-governmental organizations.Nobody blamed the church,nobody blamed the French.Get to understand when people use an example and get out of your special snowflake bubble.You say that the Brazilians were hiding it?Is that literally your excuse when there are literally reporters authorized to cover the matter freely,no matter how the Brazilian president doesn't want it?Or the fact that it's sort of impossible to hide an entire fucking forest burning?Do you even know how the press,any press really works?Do you even know who owns the press of any country?Please, go make a research and just see how much of the media belongs to countries because the majority is ran by major orgs ruled by the biggest heads of earth(ever heard of international banks?You think that the government actuly has any power against them?The governments are many times bitches that kneel down and suck the dicks of the world's biggest bankers.Just a friendly reminder of the name Rothschild,Rockefeller).
No doubt that the posts you are reffering to are helping.I already shared so many in my social media,along with tons of friends of mine.We were all gratefully informed on the matter and made further research.But do you know what else gathered lots of attention and spread awareness?The ones that mention other tragedies as well.Not just Notre Dame,btw,there happen to be other tragedies around the world,too,just mentioning.
I believe I have presented enough facts over here as well.No need to hear from you to tell me to go get educated but thanks for the reminder,always glad to learn something new,even if I learned absolutely nothing that I haven't heard of before in this post.I suggest you do follow your own advice though.It shows that it could really help you out as well.
Sick and tired of people bringing up Notre-Dame every time something happens. Notre-Dame has nothing to do with it. I mean, you wanna spread awareness? Share the links, post, reblog, talk about it IRL, whatever. Do what the media can’t do, the world needs people like you sharing important infos. I wouldn’t have known about the fires in Amazonia if it weren’t for social media. Just please stop talking about Notre-Dame??? It’s so unproductive and unnecessary???
