So the yeerks, at a basic level, are motivated to infest other species in order to gain access to better senses and have mobility outside the yeerk pools. They're parasites and that's how they work.

Now, it's wrong for them to enslave species such as humans, hork-bajir, andalites, taxxons, etc.

But I also think it would be wrong to consider morphing technology as a solution (that is, having yeerks go permanent morph as a different species to have senses and mobility). That would essentially be telling yeerks to voluntarily have their species go extinct because it sucks, and that's questionable to say the least.

So my question is, are there any species on Earth that would be suitable as an alternative yeerk host? Like is there any species that the able-to-talk-to-each-other species would be cool with yeerks generally infesting? The animal would have to be one with a large enough brain for the yeerk to live, and there would have to be lots of them/potential for lots of them, and also able to communicate with the other talk-to-each-other species in some way.

Would, like...racoons work for this? Would we be cool with racoons being controlled by intelligent brain slugs? Are racoons big enough? As for communication I think racoons have hands/arms that are capable of sign language so that's just an ordinary translation issue.

okay so i was thinking of a joke earlier about how in DPDC Amity Park's slogan "a great place to live" is not only city propaganda but also the city lording it over the rest of America for being normal. But then I remembered that, despite how many DCU Cities with heroes in it there are, the amount of cities in America without heroes still far outnumber the amount of cities in America WITH heroes.

So I did a little digging so the joke would still land. Something most heroes have in common is that they operate in major cities. What makes a major city? I found that the general consensus is that the population is roughly over or around a million. THEN I looked up the populations of cities in the DCU that I thought of off the top of my head. So Gotham, Metropolis, Starling City, Central City, Jump City. All of them ranked up to millions in population (most of them were in the tens of millions).

Amity Park's wikipedia describes it as being similar to specifically Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Francisco.

Philadelphia's Population: 1.576 million as of 2021 Chicago's Population: 2.697 million as of 2021 San Francisco: 815,201 as of 2021

Whiiich means that Amity Park if we take that from canon, is probably a major city. There are approximately 19,000 cities in America with probably less than a hundred that are major cities. Adding the DCU major cities wouldn't skew the data too much.

Which MEANS that I can make the joke that Amity Park's "great place to live" is not only just typical city propaganda, but also its Amity Park lording it over the other major cities for being one of the only major cities that doesn't have problems bad enough to warrant a superhero or a vigilante. Cue stage left the Fentons and Phantom :)

Amity Parkers were probably SO proud that they didn't need a superhero. They didn't have to worry about things like 'world ending threats' and 'super-powered individuals' and 'staggering property damage'. And then enter Fentons.

It also could be used as an excuse for why nobody took notice to Amity Park getting ghosts if folks like me aren't huge fans of the notion of a media blackout via Tucker, Technus, or the US Government. Or if you want to keep Amity Park as its urban city self. Amity Park's news on ghosts gets drowned out in a week because there's news on more popular, well-known cities going on every other day. The shit going on in Amity Park is every other major city's regular Tuesday and it gets filtered as such.

There was another ask/variation with Siren Y/N and Eclipse being the photographer searching for sirens for Fazco but an Orca Y/N siren would be a touch different. Side note: I love that even with Y/N as the dangerous, deadly creature, they're still being tormented by grabby and possessive Eclipse because he's Just Like That

but also Siren Y/N swimming along the surface before Eclipse snatches them up like a prized fish but it's okay because they're lonely and they assume this is how animatronics show affection by being so grabby and touchy. Y/N does their best to not get water over him and he always makes sure to give Y/N all the cuddles they want because boy, who knew a siren could be so needy (he says as if he himself isn't needy.)

One of the funniest disconnects with actual play to me is how much the viewers/fandoms have a much broader awareness of everyone’s mechanics than the players themselves - and often assume for some reason that all the players have that same total awareness.

Funniest examples I can think of off the top of my head are when Laura was convinced Caleb (AC 11 wizard) had a higher AC than Yasha (AC 15 Barbarian) - likely influenced by fear for Yasha in Ashley’s absence and Yasha’s position in melee meaning she was hit more by default. Another was when the entire CR crew aside from Laura revealed in the campaign wrap-up that they seem to have spent the entirety of C2 under the impression Jester had a very high Charisma score (her CHA was 12).

Danny just decided to make 2 tiktoks/any social media platform accounts… one for Fenton and one as Phantom…

As Fenton he posts videos/photos of general Amity Park things, his parents craziness, and bits of the Infinite Realms (but not to much)

And as Phantom he posts videos/photos of ghost fights with his “rouges,” hanging out casually with his “rouges” and general misadventures of the Infinite Realms…

The real twist is that people find either of the two channels think it’s some ARG thing and later find the other account.

Regular people: “this is an ARG”

JL/YJ: “could this be real???”

Other Teens in Amity Park: “we can cause more chaos!”

I just think that all of the teens of Amity Park would make their own accounts and just show their everyday life; filming regular“ghost attacks”, the general things of being ecto-contaminated, filming massive ghost attacks, and just talking to chill ghosts

All in all the rest of the world would be like this is such a huge ARG project that has to have a huge budget, I mean look at that CGI! There would be so many theory boards and Google docs trying to keep track of the Lore of the series… while the JL and YJ still can’t figure out if this is real or fake
