#and so there's stuff that likely won't translate to all systems in general

(Alright, ended up with a lot more thoughts than fit neatly in the replies, so now this is a reblog, and under a cut since it's long!)
First, just for readability of the overall post, this is the first round of what we'd said (OP you can just skip this whole indented bit <3 )
That sounds rough, I’m sorry to hear it! Do you have a therapist you like and trust? If so, our advice would be to mention this to them, along with anything that’s been going on in the past while that you think might be contributing to the extra stress on your system (no pun intended). If you don’t have access to a good therapist, our best advice would be: 1) keep making a record (if you can safely) of what’s going on, 2) take a good hard look at your schedule and see if there’s anything you can scale back on, in order to give yourself more time and energy for processing and recovery? If that’s not feasible immediately, maybe trying to find the closest future time you can realistically take a break. (This one is hard, and can be especially hard for primary fronters, who often get dissociated from the full extent of the stress and internal problems, and are used to having to fall back on “eh I guess I’ll just keep pushing and get through it”. But also, life is hard and sometimes there’s just genuinely not an easy answer). 3) Look for changes you might be able to make in order to help your situation get safer and more stable? Also think about if anything’s changed recently that may have put you into either “ok maybe we’re safe enough to start letting more problems surface to be worked on”, OR alternately “ok stuff is not safe, we’re either getting close to burnout or something’s come up that’s putting us into dissociated survival mode”. 4) I know you mentioned that you don’t have a lot of communication with anyone else internally, so this might be harder, but trying to talk to anyone you can reach and ask “hey what’s going on, what do we need right now? What’s the best thing I can do for us, and if you can tell me why, I’d love to know”
Okay, now onto some more thoughts based on what you'd replied with: 1) Therapist who isn't really equipped to deal with system stuff, and parents who aren't willing to pay for a specialist: First, that's shitty of them, I'm sorry. If you're comfortable being super upfront with your therapist about the situation, you might actually be able to kinda team up and find some ways around the problem using external resources. It's pretty common practice for therapists to consult with other therapists/psychologists if they find themselves with a client who's a little (or a lot) out of their wheelhouse of expertise--in your case, it sounds like the ideal situation would be to get referred to someone with better experience in your areas of issues, but if your parents aren't willing to let you do that, your current therapist may likely still be able to consult with a more experienced specialist and get some advice. Also, this could be a situation where you might benefit from working through a therapy workbook designed for people with DID (and/or whatever co-morbidities and issues feel most pressing for you) together with your therapist, as a way to fill in at least some of the gaps in her expertise. (We don't have a ton of specific workbook suggestions, but someone we know has mentioned this one? Caveat that we haven't personally read it or vetted it, but it could be a place to start looking). Lastly, you could also try seeing if your parents would be willing to pay for a more specialized therapist if they didn't have to find one themselves? If you wanted to try that angle, you and your current therapist could potentially work together to find someone to refer/suggest you to--she can ask her supervisor and/or network, there's ofc the Psychology Today database, and also we've had some luck with using this database and looking for folks who also mention experience with trauma and/or dissociation in their bios.
2) Some tips that've helped us about how to use relaxation time/downtime/"time you've freed up for Mental Health Care" in a way that actually helps process stuff more effectively: I just wanted to throw in a few ideas from our own experiences, because especially if you're used to being on-the-go and externally productive, it's not always obvious or intuitive what you're supposed to do to help when you 'take a break'. So, for us, there's two kinda broad types of "recovery time": rest vs processing. Rest is like, okay, what basic body + mind needs have been pushed aside for a while? Sleep extra if you need it, make sure you get food that your body wants/needs, get some gentle movements in there for pent-up muscle tension and general body care, take a shower/get clean clothes, go for a walk, hug a friend or a pet, etc. If you (the system member reading this) are one of the more productivity-oriented, daily life folks, this might mean trying to see if someone else who's more in touch with bodily needs and emotions wants to front for a bit, but/and you can also try it yourself, too. (In fact it can be a good exercise in building the skill of paying attention to those body and mind cues that often get ignored when we're in Just Power Through It mode.) A simple thing that sounds kinda silly but has helped us a ton is literally just to set a timer for 10-15 min and lie down, without a phone or any other activity, and just let your brain cool off. (Also great for stopping headaches before they get bad, resetting from sensory overload, etc). Processing, on the other hand, is basically "doing therapy work" outside of sessions. Sometimes that means reflecting on questions or concepts that came up in a session, but/and another big way this can look is doing internal work with your system. That can be stuff like: -> checking in with a system member who seems to be having a rough time -> building internal visualization/stabilization/communication tools and "headspace stuff" overall (ex: internal safe space exercises, making "rooms" for system members, investigating non-intentionally-created places in headspace if you have any, etc) -> (this is a big one) asking other system members (either internally or via external means) about what's going on in the system, and if there's any stuff you're in a place to process currently. A more fronting-oriented system member might be like "idk what's going back there, I'm just doing the taxes", but a more internally-oriented and/or "gatekeeper-y" system member might be able to more accurately gauge whether you-the-system-collectively are in a safe enough spot to start reconnecting some of those dissociated painful memories/emotions and working through them. It's super common to only just get bits and pieces to start with--which is good, because too much at once can be overwhelming, and runs the risk of being retraumatizing--and, the more that you can build trust between the system members holding/hiding/controlling the trauma and the system members who are distanced/protected from it, the easier any kind of healing overall becomes. If the trauma-disconnected system members can trust and not dig for more, the trauma-connected system members can start slowly sharing stuff when it's safe to do so; likewise, if the trauma-connected system members can trust that their pain/anger/issues will actually be addressed and treated compassionately, comorbid issues and disordered symptoms (flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, SH urges, etc) often start to get way milder and easier to manage over time.
Based on what you mentioned about new system members with some intense stuff going on (the programming, "being experiments", etc), our surface-level guess for a place to start would be trying to gently and carefully engage with them, and figure out how to help them be safe and feel safe, even if progress is slow. However, this thought/advice comes with the significant caveat that we do not have a lot of personal knowledge about how specifically recovery from programming looks; we know that it's strongly encouraged to do it in collaboration with a professional if at all possible, and I would check in with your therapist (and whatever external guides and resources you find together) before going to deep into this end of things. In our non-programmed experience, the two big principles for internal system work that've helped us the most are compassion/acceptance and trust/intent-to-collaborate; take this with a healthy dash of salt when applying it to your own experiences, and absolutely prioritize safety over "poking anything too much". As a final note, while we're here, I'll mention something about exomemories and internal self-narratives--ymmv, and it may not fit with your system personally, but it's helped us enough that I figure I'll mention it in case it's useful to you too. In our experience and observations, the most therapeutically-relevant part of a system member's exomemories and/or internal identities isn't so much about trying to map it back to a specific IRL trauma or parallel situation, and is actually more about treating the pain/trauma as it presents itself now, regardless of how fantastical (or "cringe"-sounding) it is or how divergent from any autobiographical events. Essentially: the emotions are real, even if the events aren't autobiographical, so focus on that part first and foremost. For some systems, they may eventually find a clear, direct connection between an autobiographical experience and a system member's exotrauma or self-narrative--if so, and if that connection feels relevant and helpful, then great! However, sometimes there is no obvious connection, or the connection is more like "thematic relevance" to broad-scope emotional responses rather than specific events (stuff like "abandonment" or "violent inhuman anger" or "my real self is Too Much/Too Weird", etc). And in those cases, focusing too hard on trying to find a Logical autobiographical connection can be more of a red herring than what's actually going to help you the most. (here's a post with more we've written about this topic overall)
Take care out there, and thanks for letting us put this in a reblog in case it helps anyone else as well! Feel free to ask us followup questions and stuff, too. We're not therapists, so this isn't any kind of official medical advice, but it's some stuff we've learned from ourselves, others, therapy, and research over the years, and hopefully it helps you a bit too.
I think we went through a system reset.
Here, I think it will help if I explain in more depth. I've been trying to ignore it but it's been getting bad. Before now, I've had very few number-name parts, and recently (within the last month or so) quite a few young parts that see themselves as experiments have appeared. They all have complex number names and some rather intense (compared to the rest of the system) programming. There have also been some older parts appearing who kind of "keep them in check". I've lost quite a bit of memory (I remember remembering more, if that makes sense, and it's normal for me, but not at this scale) and also quite a few of my headmates that I work with and communicate quite regularly have disappeared, presumably going dormant. Amnesia blocks have gotten consistently stronger and communication barriers are back in place, heavier than ever. I only am able to occasionally communicate with anybody else. I can't remember near as much as usual and my one friend (who is normally able to identify when it's not me, though I don't rely on it) hasn't noticed any changes so I think it's me that's fronting, though I'm even more of a blurry, soupy mess than usual. I'm still the same host as before but I feel as though nobody else ever fronts except for at incredibly specific times and then it's normally for all the wrong reasons and at all the wrong times. I'm not quite sure what to do or what is going on. If anybody has any ideas or anything, feel free to ping/dm me anything at all, including questions and such. I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you all. :)
#system stuff#resources#S.txt#anyone know what else we should tag this with? idk what the general community tags are anymore#this particular bunch of advice is mostly DID/OSDD-oriented based on what it sounded like OP was having trouble with#and so there's stuff that likely won't translate to all systems in general#but I figure it's worth putting out there as some general ideas of places to start when Shit's Rough and the therapy situation isn't ideal

Hello! This blog is an educational blog targeted towards Age Regressors, specifically Autistic and otherwise Neurodivergent regressors! We run it for fun in our own free time, so please keep in mind that even as we do research for these, we are not biologists and we may get one or two things wrong. Also keep in mind if you interact or follow: I'm a minor!! (Legal age 16+)
We make posts about pretty much anything you'd see in a general kindergarten-thru-5th grade classroom!
Anon list, Rules, and what I WON'T make posts on below the cut!
We follow from @umbragoetia
DNI: Endogenic 'systems' or you support them**, Pro/Com Shippers or Pro-Harmful Paras, NSFW (Including Pro-ED, Gore, Smut/Kink, or anything else you wouldn't show a child), and blank blogs. If you don't have a pinned post I (likely) won't follow you back!
Anon List: ✈️ ; 🪽 ; 🍓 ; 🍼🐮
RULES:
Be Nice!!! I won't tolerate any hate speech or bullying here! This also includes discourse, politics, etc
Please don't use a typing quirk or heavy baby talk without a translation with me! I can't understand what you're saying if it's too abbreviated or misspelled and I'll ignore or skip your question/ask/comment! No hate to anybody, but I can't read it!!
PLEASE don't slander bugs here!! I understand a lot of people are afraid of them or don't like them, but this blog is heavily bug-loving and bug-themed. WILL NOT DO:
Large Monkeys/Primates (Apes, Gorillas, Chimps, etc). Small monkeys are fine!
Dr Seuss. Due to his past with Nazis and Antisemitism, I'm not comfortable doing anything related to Doctor Seuss as a Jewish person.
Mature Media. While I'm a regressor who LOVES horror (The Walking Dead, the Conjuring, Slashers, zombies, etc) and other adult shows (Beavis and Butthead, Metalocalypse, etc), this blog is run like a classroom, and I wont do anything with themes of blood or gore. I'll still do things for the characters if I know them!! You wouldn't see the teacher showing bloody movies in their class, even if your parents say it's fine to watch at home! Try to keep this blog PG-13 with things like blood and swearing!
Anything Political. While I'm a very political person with plenty of opinions and stances, I won't post about them on Sunnimals. This blog is a safe space, a quick escape from the outside world-- I don't want to trigger or cause undue stress to myself or other little ones.
**Endogenic systems, while usually being only misinformed and are not generally always 'faking' systemhood, still perpetuate misinformation and ableism about systems. I'd like to keep my blog accessible and safe to those with plural disorders, and Endos are not safe towards them. They've made this obvious by invading spaces, ignoring DNIs, and harassing not only others who want nothing to do with them, but by harassing me personally. I have really tried to be nice, but this rule is strict and final. Endo-Neutrals are on thin ice.

found the exact image of the moment described and interview with his mother, translation in comments
I saw this interview a few months ago, and I've commented on why Madame Vikernes seems to be the classical example of 'narcissistic mother' based on this video. Also, I've mentioned why I think Varg must've been 'stressed and anxious' during his mother's apparition in court, therefore I won't repeat myself and instead jump straight into the thoughts I have about her actual words:
She describes him as 'bright in school, friendly, warm and good to their little daughter'. I don't know if the translator wanted to say 'little sister', and I don't know if he ever had a little sister considering that a supposed third child was never ever mentioned before. I don't know Norwegian either, so I can't say that these are the exact words that come out of her mouth in the video. (It's sometimes stuff like this that disproves authenticity in translated texts).
Small edit: It's possible that she was referring to Varg's daughter, since she was a baby at that time. I completely forgot abut this detail.
His mother's demeanor is indeed very laid back, emotionally detached even, and it shows in the easy and nonchalant way in which she talks about her son's crime as if she's talking about weathercast.
"how could my son end up as a murderer?" she continues "I've asked myself a thousand times how all this could happen, and why there wasn't any signs that he was about to become a criminal." Now, I don't believe this for a second. Many parents of criminal children want to wash off from the social persecution of rising up a failure and take the defensive argument of 'I've never see it coming', but according to the true reality that absolutely nothing like this happens out of the blue, it's very doubtful that Varg was the only exception.
The reporter asks when the first signs were visible: "When he was arrested for the church burnings. That was the first sign. I was completely in shock. I could never imagine that he was doing such things. I thought it was a mistake". I LOVE how this comes right after my previous point about her claiming that she 'never saw any signs'. Of course that burning down a church is nothing concerning. Of course that she believed him when he lied that he didn't do that. Those are lazy lies to maintain dignity in front of the camera, but it's quite obvious that she she knew what she was dealing with and even 'protected' him from the police. (Why I'm saying that is because she literally tried to break him out of prison in 1997).
"It's very heart-breaking, that he got maximum prison term. But I also understood it from the society's point of view, the necessity to mark that we don't want such in our society, neither me or others." This is a very shallow, very disempathetic, and disregarding statement when it comes to the permanent damage that's been done to Øystein's family. She understands the social repercussions of her son's act, but she fails to acknowledge the human, visceral and maddening part of the story. A young man lost his life that night. She is very good at rationalizing facts but fails to understand basic empathy and compassion. It's just a 'burden' to her that she has to visit Varg behind bars. She fails to understand the gravity of what happened and finds it very unfair. Classic narcissistic mental process.
She thinks that if she had convinced him to find a job or return to school, this would have prevented the tragedy. Again, this is a lazy excuse that doesn't actually suggest strong behavioral changes and discipline.
"In my situation, when your kid becomes very against the system and society and gets negative thoughts, one should react." The cherry on top of this interview. Shallow and generic advice made up on the spot. Very impersonal statement. It kind of implies that someone else should do the work instead of her, but I don't know if these are her exact words since this is her rough translation, so I'll stop looking too much into it.
Regarding her true feelings about Varg's imprisonment:
Proof that Madame Vikernes doesn't believe that her demented offspring deserves to rot in prison, thinks that money can buy anything in this world and laws don't equally apply to everyone.

MEIRI!!!! i am taking a class in art history and i wanted to ask about your favorite paleolithic cave paintings, cause i know you're very passionate about that!
OOOHHAHHGRGHH MY GODDDD
YOU'VE AWAKEN MY EVIL POWER......
okay so this is gonna be real hard for me to choose. like reallll hard. but i think i can narrow it down. i don't know how much #info you need or how much Lore you care for me to add, but you've activated my trap card, so now you're stuck in the cave with me, i have the torch, and if you try to leave you won't find your way back. okay. let us start.
GENERAL LORE:
at least in the Franco-Cantabrian geographical and paleo-cultural area [this thing], which contains some of the most famous painted caves such as Lascaux, Chauvet, Pech-Merle, Altamira, etc, one main currently reigning hypothesis, because it allows to explain the most amount of [gesture] Stuff Going On, is that cave art exist within a magico-spiritual system of belief of the animist persuasion likely with shamanic elements. The places where walls were painted in the caves, were very, very rarely Living quarters. paleolithic tribes prefered to make camps outside, or just at the very entrance of caves: the depths were Hard to navigate, dangerous, possibly inhabited by predator animals. you didn't got to these places to fuck around; you went because you had a drive, you believed in something about them.
Jean Clottes (one of our main prehistorians in France, who wrote Pourquoi l'Art Préhistorique ?, or "Why Prehistoric Art", translated into english as "What is Paleolithic Art" which is fucking stupid, the "why" is the whole question he's trying to answer in the book, is this guy fucking stupid) identifies 4 main concepts that exist within indigenous, nomadic or semi-nomadic, hunter-gatherer, animist & shamanist societies and peoples, that are widely distributed (as such having "universal" elements) and could, likely, have been found within paleolithic societies, and possibly give us clues to their belief system, which are:
the INTERCONNECTEDNESS: of animal species between one another (explaining the numerous accounts of paloelithic art depiction species together, or separated), and of human and animal: including through mythologies in which humans were created from animal(s), or animal(s) later changed into human(s).
the FLUIDITY of the living world: animal species are recognized as kin, for they can become it; animal species are given, or projected-onto attributes that make a tribe, a clan, recognize themselves in it
the acceptation of the COMPLEXITY of the world: paleolithic people likely had deep, complex mythologies and cosmogonies, which we might Never, Ever, know anything about (this drives me insane.) their language, and their rites, might (have) reflect(ed) an understanding of the complixity of nature, or animals, that sedentary, then later capitalist societies might have lost the nuances of.
the PERMEABILITY of the living world(s). this again is seen in beliefs in the permeablity between human & animal, human a animal, animal as human: this is also where Shamanism might come into play. shamanism(s) rest(s) upon the conceptualization of the world as divided-but-permeable between a physical, living world, and an unseen, spirit world: the Shaman is the mediator, the person who can freely go between these two worlds, to communiate, to heal, to direct, to plead, etc. AND, and this is where it gets real interesting for The Caves: potentially, the belief in the permeablity of the cave rock itself: multiple painted sites might contain hints of a belief in the cave being the place where spirits dwell; and painting them is less "calling" or "invoking", even if there might be some of it, but rather "revealing". the cave itself, maybe, could (have) be(en) considered the place where spirits dwell, and come forth/from. more about that later.
WITH ALL OF THAT IN MIND. at least in the franco-cantabrian area, the placement of cave art is, very Very likely, extremely deliberate. it is not just the art that counts, but where it was made. we can ask ourselves, why it was made here, and not elsewhere. i am picking my answer on this axis. some caves might be so beautifully painted, but are The Vibes here? if the expression of this potential magico-spiritual complex and tens-of-thousands-of-years-spanning(!!!!!!!!!! this is nother thing that's fucking insane btw. did you know we are as close to Lascaux as Lascaux is to Chauvet, another very ornate painted cave. MULTIPLE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS) is visible, or #feelable, let's mention it. now onto the good part
CAVE ART THAT DRIVES ME CUCKOO CRAZY:
THE NIAUX (pronounced "Nyo") CAVE
reason: i've been there. twice. sobbed both times. came out changed like genuinely. made me go back to uni. the Niaux Cave is located in the Ariège (a-ryeh-juh) département [think smaller than a state bigger than a county] of southern france, in the Pyrénées (pee-reh-neh) mountains making the border with spain.
the almost entirety of the art is concentrated in the "Salon Noir" of the cave.
now. come close and listen to me. the Salon Noir is some 700 meters from both the modern entrance and the prehistoric one. today, like back then, you have to navigate rough, slippery terrain, crouchspaces, and generally accident-inducing (source: my dad slipped & fell just like our guide warned us about) walking space. for most of the way, the ceiling is 5 to 10 meters above, and the walls relatively close together (but not claustrophobic). the Salon Noir seems to be "indicated" by, on both of its sides, red symbol markings. now listen to me. the Salon Noir's ceiling is twice as high. even with modern lamps, you struggle to see it. now imagine. having walked all the way there, in the Wet, the fire of your torch or your grease hand-lamp to guide you, and suddenly not only can you not see the ceiling anymore, but the rock seems to speak back to you. the echo is intense, in the Salon Noir, way more than anywhere in the lower-ceiling'ed cave. your voice carries on for 5 full seconds, if you sing the rock continues singing after you. did you know? in france and spain, studies have shown that most parietal (=cave wall) art corresponds to particular acoustic features. did they sing? did they play the flute, the drums? did they use lithophones: the stalagtites & stalagmites, hit of small sticks, to make them ring? in the Salon Noir, most of the animals are bisons, as is very common in the franco-cantabrian area. now this is just something fun that our guide told us, possibly nothing more than an interesting coincidence, for its truth would rest on an unproven-hypothesis-within-an-unproven-hypothesis, but did you now that the female bison has the same gestational period as the human? 9 months.
the bison to the right, with the red markings and the "eyebrows", is my dad's favorite: he says its profile looks like him, with his beard and his big nose, which to be fair, truly it does. in a previous-previous-previous-previous life my dad as an upper paleolithic era bison. this is my dad's paleolithic fursona.
my favorite is this horsie. see? she smiles.
so does this one on the left, a protome (= name for the depiction of only the front of an animal, of a human)
PERGOUSET (pronounced per-goo*-zeh) CAVE
(* but the "oo" sound is short)
i'm cheating a little. because this is not painting, it's carving. but i consider sculpture an art, and parietal carving to be as important and interesting as parietal paintings, so. take it or don't!
yeah the whole cave. you'll see why. basically if i think about Pergouset for too long my skin starts melting i foam at the mouth etc. anyways. since the cave is closed to the public, and basically only available to researchers' viewings, it is quite hard to find images of it, so we'll just ball on this one.
Pergouset is located in the département of the Lot, in southwest-central france. this region is Plentiful with caves, including Pech-Merle that is basically next door, and Lascaux 1.5h away. why this one & not any of those two? well. come closer.

okay. the pussies & this guy with his penis out cave. what's her deal. Well, first piece of lore is to know that, in the grand scheme of franco-cantabrian paleolithic cave art, human representations are minimal. animals make up the majority of depictions, however, "archetyped" or "stereotyped" human figures that insist on sex characteristics are Plentiful. and within representations of that, "female" archetypes outnumber "male" ones by a lot. basically you cannot cough on a paleolithic "human" depiction without landing on a vulva frankly. many such cases in life as well. one of the hypotheses, which Michel Lorblanchet brings forth in his book La Naissance de la Vie: Une Lecture de l'Art Parietal (from which the picture above is from) is that it could be part of a belief system in which the cave, the whole cave, itself could be a "female" principle or archetype: the whole of the cave a matrix, a uterus. basically its giving, it's giving birth. one of the biggest data point he has for that hypothesis is the Pergouset cave. in the Pergouset cave, carvings of vulvae rhythm a long narrow passage following an underground river. the 3 vulvae could represent that of pre-birth, that of currently-pregnant (with the line in the middle, like the pigmentation line on pregnant belly + carved over a convex part of the stone), and that of currently-actively-giving birth: "vulva 3" is just two streaks in the rock, surrounding a naturally-occuring hole in the rock: as if that feature of the cave itself had been recognized as It's Giving Birth / hereditary voice I Am Your Mother. as you can see on the picture, vulva 1 is all the way back in the #depths, in the #dark, and vulva 3 the closest to the exit, indeed to the light ( -> it's giving birth). now. and this is the insane thing. foaming at the mouth like unwell arms shaking rn. i've had to go pace 4 times since i started typing. in the depths of the cave, the animals that are carved are less (see the numbers on the picture). but also, they're... more fantastic. stranger, more unusual. lacking the realism that is typically associated with parietal art. they're... as if from a dream, an undetermined land of weirdness, of amorphousness. as they get closer to the light, they get more numerous, they proliferate, life crawls the walls: they become also more and more realistic. as we reach the last carved vulva, as it is giving, what is it: giving BIRTH, animals are numerous, abundant, fully formed, their visible selves in the world outside: it is as if the cave itself, the depths of cave itself, gave birth to these animals, formed them inside of itself, let them out from this unknown, amorphous, strange land beyond the stone, where human cannot reach. humans went in, and meticulously, sometimes using a natural relief in the stone for an eye, a feature, "released" the animals from the stone, "revealed" them from their state of hidden-inside-of-the-depths-ness. the whole cave this Mother from which all the animals drawn on the walls emerged.
tldr
#im insane. i'm craaaazy. insane. asylum.#THANKS FOR ASKING. VERY MUCH LOVED TO ANSWER THIS. WON'T APOLOGIZE FOR THE LENGTH SO GOOD LUCK SOLDIER.#also tell me how it went teehee#if you need another cave Brother I Got Caves.#rainphee#allô (answers)#paleoposting#if you need anotha cave: pech-merle. the horses. obviously.#also because in one wall; above the horse; a long ass fish had been painted following the sedimentary marks of an old river. makes you insa

- GENERAL RP ETIQUETTE: Don't make actions for my character without asking, don't assume past relationships/deep history without asking, don't read my character's mind, etc. - FEEL FREE TO REBLOG MEMES FROM ME. It actually helps me remember to send stuff out.
- NOT PRIVATE, BUT SELECTIVE: I sometimes don't follow big multimuses back since I have pretty strict tastes in fandoms, and I don't want to clog my dash with characters I don't know. That doesn't mean I don't want to roleplay with you though! As for selectivity, I reserve the right to say no if things just don't click writing-wise.
- KHONSHU IS AN ASSHOLE. Nothing he says reflects my real views about anything. If he’s mean to you, it doesn’t mean I don’t like you or you’ve done something wrong.
- FOR OTHER MOON KNIGHT SYSTEM MUSES: By default, I'll play Khonshu like he's connected to your muses. If you want it to be dimension-hopping shenanigans (which I'm super down to do, especially for ones more heavily based on the comics), let me know! All these interactions will be on different verses, and I don't plan to have Khonshu be 'mains' with any muses.
- FIGHTS: With rare exceptions, I'm just gonna say no to fight threads with Khonshu. Partly because he's incorporeal and really can't be hurt or hurt anyone else directly. Mostly because fighting other muses has always stressed me out. If it's something you really want to do, we can talk about it. (This doesn't mean your character can't attack Khonshu ever, it just means it probably won't work.)
☽ MUSE INFO ☾
NAME: Khonshu OTHER NAMES: Chons, Bloody pigeon, Silly old bird (He accepts none of those) PRONOUNS: He/him HEIGHT: Varies, usually around 8-10 feet tall. WEIGHT: N/A (Incorporeal, like a ghost) AGE: Four billion, give or take
- KHONSHU is the Egyptian god of the moon, vengeance, and healing, a minor god of time, among other smaller things. While he is enormously powerful in theory, he’s mostly unable to affect the physical world without use of a mortal AVATAR, dubbed his MOON KNIGHT. Those who agree to be his Avatar are granted superpowers and near-invulnerability, in exchange for agreeing to carry out his mission: Bringing his vengeance against those who harm the travelers of the night.
- Khonshu is also somehow a billions-year-old grumpy baby who flips over trash cans when he doesn’t get his way.
- By default, Khonshu's current Avatar is JAKE LOCKLEY, only. Jake will make cameos on this blog when necessary, and you can request him in asks if you want. (For writing Jake, I don't have DID, so any attempt to reference/portray it is based on the comics and show. I don't write Marc or Steven.)
- Normally, only his Avatar (or Avatars of other gods) are capable of seeing/hearing Khonshu, but let’s say this blog is a holy space where he can answer your prayers questions. (In threads, we can always bullshit a reason your character can see Khonshu.)
- This Khonshu is HEAVILY BASED ON THE DISNEY+ SHOW, which means he lacks a lot of the harsher history his comic book counterpart has. However, some bits of comic lore have been added/built upon, especially his fraught history with his father, AMON-RA.

Alright guys it's now time for a very exciting worldbuilding post: SETTING MAPS!! There are several in this post so I hope you enjoy the ride and please feel free to ask me if anything catches your interest.
I will start this off by saying these are very basic, and I only marked off a couple points of interest, but I still think there is some fun stuff to talk about here. Due to the massive amount of info I am also just going to have to skip some background info. Additionally: this continent is the main setting, but there ARE at least two more. It's also huge, like comparable to at least North America in size, so please imagine there are a ton of additional features (such as rivers, lakes, additional biomes, settlements, etc) here that I just didn't mark off.
Above is the very general Ancient Era map and we are just going to get really note heavy from here. Not everything is fully named and may or may not be adjusted later. One final note before I start is there is a conlang involved. I also haven't fully translated everything but I think in this case that works in our favor, which we'll get to in a sec.

Here is the map of ancient world sentient cities and a couple pieces of information. The four* sentient cities are called Sovereigns, and they all have avatar bodies (their original sion bodies).
*Ahveph, their creator, has a "spot" but at this point it's not acting as a sentient city and it doesn't have an avatar
Their language does makes a distinction between them as a location and them as an entity when using the full name. When dealing with shorthand though the first section of the name gets used to refer to the entity and the second for the location. For example, with Fatewinder's Beacon, "Fatewinder" = entity and "The Beacon" = location. I do have the first sections translated into conlang so we'll also start using them in this post, so if you see the conlang name I'm now talking about entities and the English names are locations. By the way, Fatewinder is Akiyohm, or "(to) wind fate". His siblings are Kantalys (Kanta), Sennamet (Sen), and Tenemohr (Ten).
Worth noting here that the avatar bodies can travel, but they ARE "tethered" to their main city bodies. They can visit each other, but they can't go much farther than that, meaning they have been locked to this continent and the waters immediately around it.
What is also really important to know is that they do NOT look like normal cities. They are actually complex megastructures, though they contain all things you would expect in cities including transportation systems. These megastructures are also shaped differently from each other. The Beacon is in a desert and is mainly vertical - about 10% of it is above ground and the rest is under. The Reach is across a mountainside and is built at an angle with the most terracing of the lot. Rest is in some riverlands and is mainly horizontal. Haven is on some heavily forested karst landscape - it's also horizontal but it has less levels than Rest does because Kanta chose to stretch it out farther.

Next we have the original territory map. When they first started here, they got along fine, but eventually when they figured out they could influence other magic wells besides the ones they lived in, they had some issues with who got what well. Finally they decided to split this out into roughly equal pies and for a while they were fine with that.
Influencing the wells into certain magic types also causes the area around them to have a magic bias towards that type. For example most of Aki's wells are wind type, so his whole region tends to have wind magic and they can construct lots of windmills to take advantage of that. If they change territory lines then the wells in that area will change as well, though they won't change easily if the area is under war.
From here on out you can consider these pies to be Kingdoms, with the Sovereigns being their capitals, and the Sovereigns also being Actual sovereigns.
Ahveph's "spot" (Seat of the Creator) remains a neutral event ground for the entirety of ancient history.
Also on this map I can point out Sunbath, which is a major story location. It is a remote village that ended up on Aki's trading route. It is also where Jas happens to live.

So yeah they still could not fully agree on territories which led to multiple disputes and actual wars over the millennia, until they finally ended up with this around the peak. Kanta has the largest pie by far, then Sen, Ten, and finally Aki.
At peak pre-cataclysm, this civilization had gotten quite advanced, as in "farther in the future than Earth" and "how are we feeling about the vast reaches of space everyone" kind of advanced. The major difference is that sions wield magic, so most of their advancements were heavily magic based rather than using physical science. Anl quick example of what I mean by that would be like, batteries - although they could make electrochemical batteries like we use on earth, they would more likely make them using lightning magic instead.

Well things couldn't stay good forever. Events led to the cataclysm and caused the plane split - literally there now three different planes are stacked on top of each other and they are not exactly the same.
First is the original Reality plane, now called Time's End. This plane has become, to put it politely, completely fucked. Although plants like it, and there are some leftover constructs like corvafex, there aren't any people or animals anymore. It is blown out with magic and very few natural processes work like they are supposed to. The time of day is locked in bands by region (see next map), time flows inconsistently, and the weather and seasons don't cycle, they are locked at random by region. This doesn't mean things are entirely in stasis though - the tides still move, which is quite clear in places such as the inland sea, and the shore near the Glassworks. At The Beacon, which had already been near a dune field, Aki's wind towers have gone without maintenance for so long that they stir up huge sandstorms every so often like clockwork.
Technically, it is still possible to reach this plane. It's most easily reached by (modern) sions because mirrors do exist here, but it is desolate. Non-sions can occasionally end up here too, but with the resonance levels and time fuckery it is not advised to stay too long.

This map is just to show how the time of day is locked. So for example, the Seat of the Creator is in perpetual midday, the Beacon is stuck in the afternoon, Rest and the glassworks are still stuck in the morning, and the Reach is at night.

The second plane is the Memory plane. It is called this because there are copies of settlements (mostly from the new Reality) on this plane, but not actually anyone in them. The plane is actually empty, like nobody ever actually lived here, as opposed to Time's End where it is empty because everyone is dead. It still remains quite eerie to explore however. It's just tons and tons of ghost cities essentially. Most of these copies look fairly normal (if not just eerie), but not all of them as the Memory plane still contains some resonance. It's not nearly as bad as Time's End but there are some cases where you'll have like, an entire empty city permanently covered in glowing fog.
So as far as Ahveph goes - it is an entity integrated into the whole planet, and it COULD manipulate things where ever, it just chose to focus on the areas the ancient sions lived in. After the planes split it was almost completely immobilized except for this one location. It can still sorta see things but it cannot do shit unless it's here. What it has currently chosen to do is to act as a city and build modern sions to live in it. It's success at being a city like the Sovereigns is kind of debatable but to be fair it is really a different beast entirely anyway.
Named characters that actively live here are Cavi, Torch, Tower, and the Daydreamer. While it is mostly populated by sions it does sometimes allow non-sions as well, like Subore actually lives here. He is also is one of the only humans that has learned modern sionic.
This is also probably a good time to mention modern sions are fairly different from ancient sions. Ancients are all sapient automatons - they have A Process to build some more (there is in fact some "genealogy" and "genetics" involved but it gets...kind of wacky) but they are 100% new builds every time one gets made. On the other hand, Modern sions are not 100% new, they are kind of doppelgangers - specific humans/shifters from reality are identified, their essence copied, changed up a bit, and then the copies are stuffed into a new construct body and let loose in the city. A good example of this is Sy and Tower, Sy being the original guy (a "Source"), and Tower being the sion that was created.

Aaand finally we have the current new Reality plane. It has been entirely repopulated by humans and shifters. The ancient sions have been largely forgotten except for whatever archaeologists dig up. Since they don't have any way to translate the relics being dug up they are just called "The Lost Race". Modern sions are basically a crypid at this point that everyone calls some variation of "mirror demon" and there is no connection that these two are actually related.
The overall technology level is similar to Earth. Maybe slightly ahead, but it is mostly based in the physical sciences with some augmentation with whatever magic relics they've figured out how to work.
Ahveph can technically manipulate things at Five since it's at the same location, but it generally does not. It has however, made a very convenient shortcut for explorers to travel back and forth between Reality and Memory.
Character locations on this plane:
Five - Sy's family had moved here from overseas when he was young. He grew up here but moved somewhere between Calanom and Five. His mom, dad, and older brother still live here though.
Calanom - Yeah so the kids (Cody, Mady, and Static/Shaun) all live here. Jack (Cavi's Source) was from here as well.
Mercury Falls - Subore and Riley (Torch's Source) are from here, though Subore didn't want to stay after Riley passed away.

Hello everyone, today is my 29th birthday.
With that in mind, I figured it would be the best time to talk about this, so I'm proud to present to all of you 東方雷秘儀 ~ Strike in the Holy Apex, my very first Touhou Project fangame!
The game's story will be centered around a mysterious thunderstorm that's raiding the entirety of Gensokyo, so it's up to a group of heroines to investigate the situation and save the day.
As some of you may know, around November of last year, GameMaker has become free to use for everyone, which prompted me to take the opportunity to create an engine that looks roughly similar to ZUN's original Touhou Project games. I showcased it in greater detail on YouTube sometime around late February and I was very pleased by the generally positive feedback it got.
Taking that into account, I continued to expand the work I've done and it has grown a lot during the past four months; menus function properly, game settings can be modified, controller support has been added, several gameplay tweaks have been implemented, and so on. There's still a number of things that need to be ironed out by the time I'm writing this post, but considering the progress I have done on it so far, I have faith that a trial version for the game will be ready for release soon. This has to be the biggest project I've worked on... by a country mile. Speaking of the trial version's release date, that will be disclosed at the very end of this post.
GameMaker being free to use has given me a joy I genuinely can't describe, and I bet my inner child would’ve been happy too by hearing those news. After all, I've had experiences with GameMaker for well over 15 years, basically almost half of my entire life!
So, what should you expect by the time the trial version is released? First things first, it'll obviously consist of only three stages.
Secondly, you'll be able to play this adventure as the usual duo; Reimu and Marisa. More playable characters will be available in the full version.
Thirdly, the game's main mechanic. It's called the Brave Gauge, and it has functionality almost similar to the Season Gauge found in Touhou 16: Hidden Star in Four Seasons. It's not the most original idea I've had, but for the record, and coming back to my familiarity with GameMaker ever since my teenage years, this system was taken from a very old draft which dates all the way back to 2014, while making some adjustments to it. Here's a little bit of proof:
I'm going a bit off tangent here, but seeing these filenames kinda makes me feel embarrassed. The game has "Ascii" on the name because all of the graphics in there were made using ASCII characters, which was done during a time when my artistic talents were non-existent, so they looked quite messy and overall made the game have a goofy aura to it, haha.
And lastly, considering that I'd like this game to be played by a wider demographic, it's gonna be available in three different languages: English, Spanish (my native language, hooray!) and Japanese. These can be selected anytime via the options menu.
I don't know any people who are fluent in Japanese, and the few friends that I have don't seem to know much about the language either, so that translation is gonna be handled 100% by myself using tools like DeepL. I know that translating all the stuff in one go can lead to heavily mistranslated results, so I'll be making sure to convert my game's text as meticulously as I can. If there's anyone out there who understands Japanese fluently and is willing to translate the text for me, please hit me up because that'd be really appreciated. In case that happens, I won't be able to reward the translation financially, but I will be adding your name to my game's end credits.
So yeah, I don't have much else to say. The game's trial version will be available on Itch.io this August 30th.
The game has a long way ahead from being completed, so anticipating a release date for the full version is not feasible, at the moment. Regardless, I'll make sure to update on that once I have made abundant progress on it.
Both versions of the game will be released as pay-what-you-want. In simpler words, they'll be available free of charge with the optional choice of depositing a sum, in case you're feeling generous. After all, not to brag, but it goes without saying that I'm handling every detail in the game; not just the programming, but also the art, music and writing. While I have used some code libraries to facilitate the inclusion of certain aspects in my game, most of the heavy lifting is carried out by me, so it'd be really appreciated to have some compensation for the work I have been doing for almost half a year. It's not by any means mandatory, so it's fine if you can't for whatever reason, hahaha.
Anyway, I hope you look forward to this game of mine as much as I do! See you then!!

Do the chess moves translate into your OCs’ world btw. Are they normal humans or made in some kinda substance. Do Kaitlin and Erin ever interact and if so what’s the situation there
YAYYY MORE OC QUESTIONS TEEHEE thank u! letssee... oh god it's another long post 😭😂
chess moves NOT SO MUCH because in the setup we've got here its really hard to incorporate something like that beyond like. the vaguest gestures hahaha maybe if the magic system was more tangible and active we could play with stuff like that, but as the setting is right now there's not that much to work with in-depth. much as i might dream
(like you can give the rook a bow and say its because it attacks in a straight line from far away but beyond that its like...well... MDSJHBBG)
they are normal humans made of normal human stuff, much as they might wish otherwise at times. the magic in their world governs the structure and laws of reality and doles out punishments when said laws are breached. it's not really a magic Powers system as much as it's a magic Penalty system. this means that almost everyone (with a few exceptions) is just like a normal human being with no special powers or attributes, but the world itself will retaliate by magic if its tenets are breached. basically it's a nightmare and everybody hates it
(the main exception is people from outside this reality, like kaitlin and aster, who sit somewhere in the middle: right above ordinary humans, but very far beneath the Unseen Structure(tm) that holds the world together. they are subject to the same retaliatory destruction as everybody else, but they often have some degree of supernatural commanding force that beings belonging to this world find difficult to resist. ethical implications are Very Dire and basically aster wants kaitlin to use that power in her final duel so that the guy she's killing won't be able to defend himself. kaitlin uh does not want to do that to be honest with you!)
👆 this all is kind of important for your last question. when kaitlin first shows up in this world she's actually in alabaster, where erin is queen. so she's delivered to erin after some hijinks and they meet very early on in the story. their backstories and general personality inclinations have some pretty serious comparison points actually, but this isn't something they realize until wayyyy later (if at all)--they have a lot in common to compare and contrast. tbh they're foils but what else is new am i right. anyway;
erin is the first person kaitlin uses her command powers on, by accident, and they both hate it and it sucks very badly. kaitlin presses her to answer a question and erin has to obey and they're both understandably very freaked out by the whole thing. this direct confrontation with kaitlin's power is part of why erin is immediately like. "Oh It's OVER Over". it was erin's first time being directly exposed to this kind of magic--but she immediately felt how strong it was and understood what aster is planning to use it for (total crush victory)
erin and kaitlin do not really ... like each other very much after this and remain very wary of each other (kaitlin is very intimidated by erin but also feels guilty for what she did to her, erin sees her as a representation of aster's win/their upcoming confrontation + obviously does not feel great about having her free will messed with even if it was accidental). kaitlin is very timid and can't fully conceptualize how deeply uneasy she makes erin after their first meeting, because in her mind erin is very strong and unreadable and scary 😭 which is very fun to me personally
for a long time after that whenever they're forced to interact, erin defaults to treating kaitlin very like. detached, perfunctory, polite but not Friendly. and kaitlin is scared of her. LMAO
however they both have close ties with aster and aren't truly "enemies" either, especially as kaitlin starts to get her feet under her and push back against the less savory parts of aster's schemes. it's very obvious that erin never believed kaitlin would be anything more than aster's pawn, so when kaitlin finds her own opinions and starts rejecting things she doesn't like, it's kind of a change in her relationship with erin too. they start actually trusting each other as allies and people yknow. the "these assholes keep saving each other via ruining each others lives" cycle does absolutely include kaitlin rekindling erin's hope that things can be different (after first ruining her life w/ the IT'S OVER!! day). love world 🫶
also once theyre more comfortable with each other its very funny that aster's wife and gf(?) are hanging out talking shit about her 😭the relationships chart in this story is so.......................
#HOPE WORLD 🫶#kaitlin & erin are bound together bcause they both have incredibly significant she/theys in their lives who are Constantly Going Through It#and other reasons too.

More crazy ideas for gmmtv 2025 because why not.
There was this one chinese horror bl novel I read where the mc had split personalities, the main one being the brain and the other being the brawn, and the two personalities were boyfriends. So the mc's main goal was surviving horror instances and gaining points so that he could craft a body for his other personality/boyfriend. I really want to see gun play a role like that. Ever since I watched gun in nmts, I have been thinking that gun could really pull off a crazy plot like that.
Also, free the gmmtv boys from the shackles of their branded pairs and just let them explore. You don't have to break the official pairs either. Just let them kiss other people once in a while okay. Wouldn't it be so much fun to see new dynamics on screen? I have only been here for a few months and I am already so over the fixed pair system. Despite being the jd stan that I am, I have a list of like 10 people that I think would be interesting as a romantic interest for each of them. I have a similar list for ohm pawat, gun, mix and first, theirs is longer.
Also why gmmtv does not have a proper sports bl is totally beyond me. Like you're telling me they are willing to host an annual company wide sports event but they won't make a series about sports? Where is the logic? What is the reason? I don't get it. Make it an ensemble. Put in everyone. Stuff in as many pairings as you wish. I really don't care. Just give me an anime style sports bl okay? Surely that is not too much to ask for?
Also I want to see gmmtv make a show deeply rooted in thai culture. It could be about traditional thai practices in modern society, or it could be set in the past.
I want an action series from gmmtv. Full on action with good choreography. Where the action is the main selling point of the show. You have so many buff men just roaming around on a daily basis. Let them fight each other. Make it bloody. Make it intense.
I want gmmtv to explore more genres. Break the stereotypes. Be more creative. It pains me because they have the resources to make it work. It's risky, yes. But there are certain pairings with extremely dedicated fanbases who will watch literally anything their favs are in. Use that dedication to try new things. These people have sat through trash for their favs. Surely they will sit through experimental projects too? Maybe I'm being too optimistic but I genuinely feel that now is the time for gmmtv to start experimenting and break the moulds they have created for themselves.
Honestly a lot of these are not specifically for gmmtv 2025, but things I want from gmmtv in general. It'd be nice to have some in 2025. But yeah I just want these to happen at some point.
Also please gmmtv for the love of everything that is good in this world, please please please hire more staff. Get more managers and assistants. Get more security. Get more medical professionals. Get more writers. Get more directors. Get more translators. You are not Ash, and actors are not pokemons, you really don't have to collect them all. Just treat the existing artists better and focus more on hiring more people for behind the scenes okay? You are a mess and I can see that even though I've only been here for a few months. Just get your shit together and you'll be fine. You have the resources. Use it where it needs to be used.
#gmmtv 2025#i actually have a list of character dynamics i want to see#i have another list of plots i want to see#i have a very active imagination#and the variety gmmtv has to offer in terms of actors makes me think#this turned out to be much longer than i expected#turns out i have lots of thoughts#actually i have more but i'd rather keep them to myself for now

Second chapter of current! Fuck yeah! (I'm writing this as I read and just putting my thoughts down, so some questions I bring up might be answered later in the chapter)
Dabi is so anxious. I mean, there's a good reason for that, but y'know. Nobody explained shit to him, just told him not to worry about it.
They are still disgustingly in love I see.
I understand why Dabi is so unsettled by everyone carrying weapons. As someone who grew up in Europe, where weapons are heavily monitored, thinking about going somewhere where everyone carries them openly sets me on edge, too.
Sire lore!! You know, I think Dabi would make for a very interesting siren. Not in this story, but in general. Hmmm.
Dabiii :(. I'm sure Tomura is happy to answer any and all questions you have.
Oooh chocolate! I really like how you portray the language barrier and how everyone is trying to work around it. As well as how some words don't exist in one language or the other!
Somehow, I don't think everyone eats that much each day.
Please, please explain eating to Dabi. The poor guy. Tomura, you know he is worried. And I know this is all normal for you, but for fucks sake.
I don't know if it's more funny or tragic that Dabi assumes they're guppies. He's trying so, so hard to deal with everything, but he's just missing so much information. He really wants to adapt, and understand. Honestly, I'm surprised Shigaraki isn't asking him more questions.
Shigaraki wants Dabi to be part of his world and sure, I can understand that. He doesn't want his mate to go hungry, but we haven't seen him really try to understand Dabi's culture in turn. Sure, he wants to know, but he doesn't ask about it, even with Toga there to translate. Might come in the future, but yeah.
Magne! Lol, finally someone who tells the others off for literally explaining nothing. Well, not nothing, but y'know. And she's right. Tomura does ask very few personal questions.
Oooh this is good. Explaining about culture for both of them! I was wondering how things in Hollow Reef are goong.
Nice touch that Magne is a clownfish, btw, since with real clownfish the biggest of the group changes gender.
Oh. Since Toga is, technically, a hunter, Dabi makes sure to eat less than her. Or maybe he wants to see how much is eaten on average. Probably a bit of both.
Oh boy! Dabi sure is going through it. But hey, they finally talk about it! About time.
"scared?" "Not of you" oh my god. They are sickeningly sweet. No wonder Tomura wants to tell Dabi that he loves him. They're both so down bad. Oh my god.
Ah, yes. Arena fights and challenges that end with one person dead and eaten. That sure is a way to resolve conflict. Especially since I'm sure Shigaraki totally has the option to refuse a challenge, as prince :)
(that was sarcasm. The eggs I understand. It's a solid system. But we still don't know the rules about fights, so idk about that)
Ah yes, death threats. Pretty sure Spinner only won because they were on land and Shig was distracted, but imagining him just getting pushed into the water and later coming oit again, dripping wet and seething, is very funny.
Oooh, I can't wait for the magic reveal. I think your magic system here is really cool! With all the little details and stuff. Since Rei has told Dabi about sirens, maybe that was just people who couldn't control their gifts? I do think Dabi will end up having one, btw, though I'm not sure which one. Could be it only works above water, if it has to do with fire? But it would be really cool if he could create/control/maintain fire underwater. I wonder if the hunters learn how to use magic?
Disgustingly sweet. Spinner agrees, lol.
I wonder how Dabi plans on hiding his necklace once he has to go back to Hollow Reef. He won't leave it on the island, or maybe he will? But he can't wear it. Too much risk of it being taken away.
Oooh, the finally have the mate talk!!
Learning how to express all that sexual stuff sure is going to be an experience, lol. Dabi's oral fixation is true in every universe. Shigaraki is being responsible and wants to talk first but it's hard when both he and Dabi are so desperate.
Poor Toga has to teach Shigaraki dirty talk in another language. Do it for the chocolate!
Party time! This is where the sneak-peek you gave us is from, right? Nice.
Poor Dabi has a hangover. Good thing Shigaraki is there to take care of him. Dabi just spitting out his whole stomach when he vomits and Shigaraki being caught so off guard by it.
Using a party so there is less to talk about the next meeting is very much unprofessional. Like yeah, that might work, but that doesn't mean issues will actually be resolved.
The meeting sure is something. I'm sure Shigaraki just didn't think of it when inviting Dabi to join them, but the ritual to see if someone is fit to join the sirens is brutal. Good that the kid made it and Dabi didn't have to watch him die? Magical awakening or something, I don't know.
Of fucking course Overhaul causes trouble. I understand why you want to make fried shrimp now. And of course a challenge can't be avoided. Knew there was something up with that law. Like, I'm sure that Dabi will win, simply because Overhaul is too much of a bitch to be able to beat him, but he is at a disadvantage here. I wonder if that fight might activate Dabi's magic? Actually making fried shrimp out of Overhaul would be funny as fuck. (And also tasty)
Oh, too bad. I wanted to see Dabi fight, but I understand he isn't ready yet. Shigaraki will make Overhaul regret ever challenging his mate :)
Oh boy! Dabi sure feels guilty for putting his mate in that position!
Oof, imagine your dad died and you eat him (you know, to pay respect) and suddenly a guard shows up because your king/prince wants a bite too. Kinda fucked up, not gonna lie.
Ah, I suspected eating others is somehow tied up with the magic. I love hearing more about all of this, though "following the natural order of things" is not as good of an argument as you make it out to be.
"I want you to be strong." Dabi has spend so much time forcing himself to be small, he would never want anyone else to starve themselves for his sake.
Overhaul is blocking his own vision with how much sand he's throwing around. And of course his magic causes trouble. Can't wait for Shigaraki to rip his arms off.
Oooh poison! Nice!
Dabi is a shark, after all. And there is a lot of blood in the water :)
Shigaraki holding onto Overhaul's arms because those are his now, dammit.
Dabi is trying so, so hard to adapt and take care of his mate. He just wants to not be small, he just want friends, and family, and to properly live.
Welp. At least Overhaul tastes good, even if he has no other use.
Dabi isn't used to going days without eating anymore. And he's a shark. It's no wonder he's hungry. Especially with so much blood in the water.
Yay! Cannibalism! Shigaraki just wants what's best for him, and he's so worried he fucked up. Oh, they're so sweet to each other in the most deranged way possible.
So much for making sure Shigaraki eats, lol. I mean, he sure eats out, but somehow I don't think that's what Spinner meant.
Oh, Spimner is so mad. And Dabi is being protective of his mate <3. He's letting his instincts take over more.
Oooh! Dabi developed his magic, since he ate "actual meat". We already know it strengthens it, so it wouldn't surprise me if that, combined with him giving in to his instincts more, is what did it. Now, is his magic healing or is he a sorcerer like Spinner?
(also, i'm pretty sure his touch was healing, no matter how funny the thought of healing cum is. Maybe even his tears, since Shigaraki licked those up too?)
Hm, if Dabi didn't heal Shigaraki, it was probably Overhaul's meat, somehow. Sped up the healing process for both of them.
It will be interesting, when Dabi comes back to Hollow Reef (because he promised Natsuo) and while everyone else is weaker coming out of the coma, he will be stronger. And bigger. That might cause problems.
Oops, All for One is home. Surely that will all go over well. Him walking in on them making oit is very funny, though. Welp, it was nice knowing you Dabi.
Hm. I'm interested to see how this version of All for One is like. I don't trust how friendly he acts.
Ooooh, Compress' magic is so interesting! I like how it now also includes other aspects outside of physically shrinking things.
Interesting that Tomura formed the court. I mean, it makes sense, especially considering canon, but still. Monarchies never work well, having a court helps that. Hmm. I'm surprised All for One allowed such a big change.
Hm. It's so hard to tell All for One's intentions. He's obviously talking down Hollow Reef on purpose, trying to use that to make sure Dabi is loyal to Graveforge, but still. He seems to want Tomura to succeed. And unlike canon, this version of AfO isn't as old.
Still, he's making me uneasy. I am, on the other hand, looking forward to what Dabi chooses to do with his life.
Dabi: "Tomura is so sweet. He's obviously a romantic." Almost everyone else: "With you maybe."
Him having the eggs might cause problems. I hope Dabi doesn't get found out :(. He should have hidden them at the island, that would have been safer.
Hopefully nobody asks Natsuo about the lie. Oh god, that would bring up so many questions. I mean, Natsuo knows that Dabi went away, but I don't know how he'd react to Dabi having eggs with him.
Dabi, you can't judge Shouto for his taste in partners. You are literally mated to a prince you met two months ago who you have seen rip the arms off of someone.
Oof, if Hollow Reef is eating their dead because they don't have enough food and then pretend that it's Graveforge who are the only savage ones, damn. That's fucked up. At least in Graveforge people know they'll be eaten.
Damn. Shigaraki can really just destroy magic. So cool. I really really love how you translated their quirks into magic while also switching things up to fit better into the universe.
Eri! Oh shit. I mean, she'll make it, but damn. Poor kid.
Ah, Natsuo will be pretty worried to hear about Dabi's mate. Especially if he figures out what he has been eating.
Woops, Dabi immediately blurts it out. At least he doesn't have to keep that secret from Natsuo anymore?
Oh, this conversation is painful. Very, very painful. Dabi just wants to stay where he is happy and keep his family safe at the same time. But I completely understand where Natsuo is coming from. Because while Dabi was the same, in the beginning, this is different. Natsuo never had to be small. Not like Dabi. And the beginning was hard for Dabi too. This is a lot at once. And, I mean, from Natsuo's perspective it does kind of sound like Dabi joined a cult.
I knew it! The bigger hunters eat the dead to gain access to magic. Oh damn, how much of that did Enji hear??? Oof, I hope Dabi's magic activates before the week is over, because I don't know if he'll survive otherwise. And even if he does, it won't be good for anyone involved. Obviously Enji didn't hear about Dabi's mate, because otherwise he just put himself into a lot of danger willingly.
Oooh, this story is so good! I love love love the worldbuilding.
I am feral and chewing on this ask, oh man yeah holy fuck is so much happening and I'm glad you're enjoying it so far! God, this makes me so excited to work on the next chapter! Thank you so much!!! 🖤🖤🖤

Act 12
Episode 21: The What-If Future and The Certain Now: Sakyo
Working w/ Maybelle Lace, jujumin-translates, Fea
Note: As you read, you will see that some sentences highlighted in a different color, this is what they indicate.
Pink: Flashback
Blue: Characters are acting
𑁍𑁍𑁍𑁍𑁍𑁍𑁍𑁍𑁍
Sakyo: (...I suppose this is the last time I'll see this signboard.)
Sakyo: ...
Sakyo: (I've made up my mind. Whether I’m resented or hated, I’ll bear it all.)
Paper Fortune: "We will surely meet again someday. 3 points luck. Small blessing."
Sakyo: Hmph..
Sakyo: (This stuff is really not that reliable.)
Manager: Kyaaaa! Stop itttttt!
Sakyo: Do it, Sakoda. Just go for the signboard.
Sakoda: Aye aye, sir!
Sakyo: (Yukio... Even so, I...)
Manager: Gyaaaah!
Sakyo: (At this theater, again...)
Izumi: "Aren't you going in?"
Sakyo: ...!
Sakoda: ...Boss?
Sakyo: …!
Sakoda: Are you okay? Do you have a cold? Or maybe you have something more serious...?! W-What would I do if you die Boss…?!...!
Sakyo: Shut up. Don’t be so dramatic. It's not that I'm sick.
Sakoda: If so, that's fine...
Sakyo: Let's cut it short for today.
Sakyo: I've got a place to stop by, so just drop me off here. You go head back to the office with the car.
Sakoda: Got it.
Sakyo: ...It's a wreck.
Sakyo: (But, at least the sign survived.)
Sakyo: (If she had arrived at the Mankai Theater even a little later that day...)
Sakyo: (Or if she had come on a completely different day altogether...)
Sakyo: (I could have destroyed this theater's signboard, filled with the precious feelings of so many people, with my own hands.)
Sakyo: (Even now, it's horrifying to imagine.)
Sakyo: (At the time, I thought it was the best course of action. That there was no other way to make this theater spark back to life...)
Sakyo: (But, she showed me a future that far exceeded my expectations.)
Sakyo: (As long as there was someone who always openly talked about their passion for theater, the future I feared would never come.)
Sakyo: (When she first took over as general director, she was inexperienced and unreliable, but as the performances went on, she grew quickly.
Sakyo: (Before I knew it, she had become a great general director.)
Sakyo: You're becoming more and more like Yukio..
Sakyo: (The way you become a bit forceful in order to create the best play, and the sparkle in your eyes when you talk about the stage, are very similar to each other.)
Izumi: Sakyo, you've been familiar with this theater for longer than you'd care to admit.
Izumi: And I'm willing to wager you cared deeply for it. Or should I say, care
Sakyo: ...
Izumi: There was an anonymous survey form from a Spring Troupe show that was loaded with feedback. That was you, wasn't it?
Sakyo: ...
Izumi: Would you come to the audition? Please
Izumi: You're a dependable presence in the training hall. I'm incredibly glad to have you.
Izumi: But I'll be honest—sometimes you really frustrate me, too.
Sakyo: What do you mean
Izumi: You don't place yourself on equal footing with the rest of the group. And it's not just because you're older.
Izumi: You don't ever try to vie or compete like Banri and Juza do
Izumi: If anything, you're always the first to step back and let everyone else take the reins.
Sakyo: I mean...
Izumi: Maybe it can be chalked up to seniority, but I don't think that's all it is. You're shying away from the idea of changing yourself.
Sakyo: What do you mean, shying away?
Izumi: What you said about having no business being on stage? That, right there. A part of you won't accept the fact that you might have a future acting in plays.
Izumi: But you know what? You're going to keep being in them. You have to. And you're going to be expected to do better than ever on that stage.
Izumi: The only way for you to get there is for you to step up even more than anyone else. Get the screw-ups out of your system. Stop playing it safe and play it for real.
Izumi: You'll never grow if you don't get experience. Let go of your past and look towards the future.
Izumi: You're not the guy who gave up on theater anymore.
Sakyo: ...
Sakyo: (It's already too late, there's nothing I can do about it. I made excuses for myself and pretended not to notice my true feelings.)
Sakyo: (It was that person's forcefulness, of all things, that grabbed my face and forced me to look forward.)
Sakyo: (I never thought that I’dd be immaturely competing with young people at my age.)
Sakyo: (I got caught up in the vigor of the Autumn Troupe and have been giving my all every day with no room to spare.
Sakyo: (...Just how much will she mess up my life?)
Sakyo: ...
Sakyo: We will surely meet again someday, huh...
Sakyo: (...I can't believe it really came true. I guess you shouldn’t underestimate the connections between people.)
Sakyo: I'm back.
Azami: Hey.
Azami: Here, this is from Sakuya.
Sakyo: A postcard?
Sakyo: (Come to think of it, he said he wanted to go on a journey to trace his roots.)
Sakyo: ...
Sakuya: "I feel like I'll be able to grasp something very important on this trip."
Sakuya: "When I think about my roots, what comes to mind is that day, which was the biggest turning point in my life."
Sakuya: "The other day, we talked about when we started the new Mankai Company."
Sakuya: "I'm glad that Sakyo lent money to Mankai Company."
Sakuya: "And I'm glad that Director and Sakyo were the ones who watched my first performance that day!"
Sakyo: ...Those ain't the kinda words you should say to a yakuza.
Sakyo: (...Sounds like you're in for a good trip.)
Ichiro: Furuichi, the Boss would like to see you.
Sakyo: I'll be right there
Sakyo: Excuse me.
Boss: ... Sakyo, I'm almost done with that thing you asked me to do.
Sakyo: Really?
Boss: Well, they're a shady bunch, doing all sorts of underhanded stuff. Information is also coming in from everywhere.
Sakyo: (...As expected of the old man.)
Azami: What are y'all talking about?
Sakyo: There's no way the yakuza can just stay silent and let them get away with all this.
Sakyo: This is the signal for a counterattack.
Boss: We should show them some gratitude in return.

Hold on, what's this European model train method of generations?
The European model train method of generations (specifically continental European, the UK uses something different) is a rough standard for how to divide the history of railroads into currently six eras or epochs. It exists to give a rough indication of where something falls in history, so you can combine things in useful ways. E.g. if you buy a model train locomotive that says "Epoch III", and a model train car that says "Epoch III", you can put them in a train together and it won't look too weird.
The whole thing is defined in model railroad standard NEM 800 (also in German and French). There are also country-specific versions of this (most of which haven't been translated to English yet, again, the UK uses something different) in the 800 section.
The divisions according to this are:
Epoch I: Anything before the end of World War I (the specific date in Germany is 1924 when the railroads got reorganised there). A very broad time period because nobody really cares about it that much.
Epoch II: Between the world wars. Again, the official end is when the railroads got reorganised, which would be 1949 in Germany. This maps to parts of the "Greatest" and "Silent" Generations.
Epoch III: The post-war years. Rebuilding, and a new generation of railroading as steam reached its peak and gave way to diesel and electricity. This epoch doesn't end in a war, but at a somewhat arbitrary point at the end of the 1960s, when all European rolling stock got new numbers painted on them according to a new computer-based number system. The specific date depends on when each railroad got around to it; in West Germany, it was 1968, in East Germany, it was 1970. Very popular with model railroaders, there are companies that basically only build stuff from that era, and it's not hard to see why: This era matches Baby Boomers almost exactly, and most importantly, it's the era when they were little and first gained an interest in trains.
Epoch IV: The time until German reunification (the standard is heavily focused on Germany because that's the biggest model rail market in continental Europe, and perhaps the world). The official end is, again, when the railroads got reorganised, which was 1994 in Germany. Steam is basically gone, high speed rail is starting to appear, but we're still in the era of state railways as national champions with their national industries, custom trains, custom headlights and so on. This is my era. It overlaps with Gen X and early millennials.
Epoch V: A relatively short transitional time that ends with yet another new rail number scheme in 2007, as privatisation ramps up, and we go from bespoke trains designed by railroads and built by their local industry to trains designed by global train builders and sold to everyone more or less unchanged. This is Gen Z.
Epoch VI: Modern times, Gen Alpha.
There are also subdivisions like Epoch IIIb or similar, which are country-specific and nobody uses them. People who are that into things will look at specific dates and then write long forum posts about "well 042 007 was no longer stationed in Regensburg and hadn't been for six months by the time this type of train car was first delivered to Bavaria, so this train is completely unrealistic!!!!!!" (fictional example).
So, compared to "Boomers/Millenials/Gen X/Gen α", this system for model railroads is:
Surprisingly similar. It divides the world in sections of roughly twenty years, sometimes aligned to specific world events like world wars or the collapse of the Soviet Union and "end of history". It does this for completely different reasons, but still, railroads do reflect the same history that affects humans.
Way better defined, with precise dates that align with… well, when new logos got painted on train, because it's a system designed to help people who buy miniature trains. But still, there is no doubt whether someone is Millenial or Gen X, there is a clear dividing line, which cuts off a lot of arguments.
Completely arbitrary and useless, just like the generations thing. Because who really cares which logo gets painted on which train when? Even I don't, not really, I have no qualms letting Epoch V and VI trains run together. Because there were specific dates when the trains got repainted, but it's not like the entire world changed, especially after we got past the world wars. The way people think and behave does not change completely whenever trains get repainted anymore than it does whenever another arbitrary "generation" boundary gets defined. The system is definitely flawed in a lot of ways - not all train cars were repainted in 1968 or 1970, for example, not by a long shot. And the whole system falls completely apart in many countries like e.g. Switzerland or Belgium.
Taken all together, it's about as useful as the "generations" thing.
It's ultimately a short-hand for history, and as such it can be useful, sometimes. But it does not fully describe history. The "generations" are really just as arbitrary and weird and misaligned with history and humans as the system we use for describing German train eras. Saying "boomers" or "millennials" is functionally equivalent to saying "people from model railroad Epoch III" or "people from model railroad epoch IV/V". The latter just makes it a bit more clear how absurd this way of thinking really is, and that's why I prefer it.
Below the cut, my thoughts on how to adapt this to the English-speaking world, just because that's the kind of thing that occupies my mind most days:
For the US:
Epoch I and II equivalent to Europe, i.e. up to the end of the World Wars with the USRAs
Epoch III ends with the end of Penn Central, the start of Conrail and Amtrak
Epoch IV ends with the 1990s reshuffling of the entire US rail landscape: Formation of BNSF, UP taking over SP, CSX and NS dismantling Conrail.
There is no useful clear dividing line between Epoch V and VI, just like in Europe (I am not a fan of Epoch VI honestly), so I'm going to be completely arbitrary and assign it to the appearance of ALP-45DP. I guess the introduction of PSR might be a better switchover, but I can't put any good date on that.
For the UK:
Epoch I: Pre-Grouping
Epoch II: Grouping
Epoch III: Early British Rail
Epoch IV: TOPS
Epoch V: Privatisation
Epoch VI: Like in Europe, the pan-european NVR numbers being painted on trains.
I don't think introducing this system to either country solves anything, but it pleases my particular railroad OCD to have definitions for it.

Are all of these gonna be character specialized? Maybe, not sure myself.
Welcome to Episode 6 of (Tottemo) Waku Puyo Extras. (Feat. A lot of Kikimora.)

(Yeah, this time it's not from the Waku Puyo Manga, but from the Totally Puyo Puyo Manga. Or the Tottemo Puyo Puyo Manga, either name works. I swear the Waku in the title is losing more relevance as time goes on.)
Hello, one and all, it's that guy who translates a niche video game here again, and welcome to Part 6 of (Waku) Puyo Extras, the filler section where I ramble about something Puyo related and give some old evidence to back it up. I know I'm a little late, but hey, that's high school for ya.
If you've been keeping up with this filler show of mine, you know that I typically post about a character, have a small video to translate, and...idk something wacky. And today, you'd be a little mistaken. Unfortunately, due to time restraints, I wasn't able to really...do a short video. My apologies. I did say that my schedule would be really messed up due to school, and now I'm finally feeling the effects.
To make up for it, this'll what we cover today:
Some stuff about Kikimora because why not, she's been in so many videos and episodes that she deserves it. I'll speak about things like her origin, Waku Puyo Dungeon: The Video Game, and the Waku Puyo Manga.
Talking about a Disc System Game. At least the one that has Kikimora.
Talk a bit about the Tottemo Puyo Puyo Manga. The thing itself mostly shows odd Puyo SUN characters, so people like Lagnus are there.
From now on, expect a lot more inconsistent posting. Obviously I'll post still, just...not as often. Hope you understand.
With those precautions and tales told, hope you enjoy.
-----
Ah, Kikimora Lore.
You don't exactly expect a lot from this character, and frankly, I don't blame you, but I'm here today to speak about our (probably not) favorite maid in Puyo, Kikimora. If you've seen my posts, you noticed that she appears quite often in translations and random stuff in general, even though she's usually a minor NPC. Won't be covering every game she's in, but I'll mention a couple.
So, what're her origins?
Well, it's not SUN, actually. Surprisingly, it's Madou Monogatari: Michikusa Ibun, released in 1994. Here...she's just kinda an enemy. Nothing more, nothing less. Quite a simple introduction.
Now, we reach the introduction that most people know her for, Puyo Puyo SUN, which was released in 1996. Here, you meet her in Arle's storyline, where she's just cleaning, as per usual. Why outside is anyone's guess, but after seeing Arle walk along the sidewalk, she legitimately sweeps her off the ground, and then runs around with her, who's in shock. I mean, I'd be shocked too.
So, 2 introductions in and she's put...nothing special in these, to be frank. Maybe she really isn't that gre-
Holy shit I'm actually speaking about Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon again.
As the local Waku Puyo guy, fortunately and also unfortunately, there's...actually a good bit to speak about with her, which is fairly surprising.
First, she's in every single route, and you don't exactly fight her. She's an usher who helps guide people around the area and tell them what to do and where to go. Here... she actually does have a good amount of character compared to back then.
(Image of her and the entire map of the game, featured in the games manual.)
Here, she partially retains her cleanliness personality, but she's now awfully kind about it, I'd assume it'd be for professional purposes but still, power to her. She isn't as...angry, as her past self, (I'd count Puyo-N because she did get really upset that Arle called her old.) and even in the Waku Puyo Manga, she's still very much kind to Rulue when she runs into her, merely giving directions of where she saw Satan.
And back to the game itself, she's a little more than just happy and angry, she thankfully unlocked more of the personality skill tree and got the ability to be sad as well. Throughout Schezo's storyline, there's moments in times he calls Kiki useless for not being able to help her, and as anyone would, gets really sad about hearing that, and in some situations, starts to cry, causing Schezo to apologize. It's fairly interesting how they basically gave a character with little screentime back then not only the screentime she got, but to expand on it to feel multilayered as well? Nothing short of impressive.
The final game I wish to cover is a bit of a niche one; Kikimora's Clean-Up.
Usually with Disc System games, there's a good bit to talk about, but unfortunately, this ain't one of the games. The game stars Kikimora, and your goal is to...clean the floors. Simple enough, while having a Pac-Man like feel to it.
There's several floors and the goal is to get all the green, icky stuff out while avoiding enemies. You can launch your broom at them, taking them out, but you won't be able to clean until you get the broom again. Getting hit makes you lose 30 seconds, lose all your time, you lose a life, and if no lives, game over. It's actually more difficult than it seems.
Finally, after a lot of floors and possibly dying, you finally face the final boss of this game: Black Kikimora, who makes the floor dirty.

After beating her, congrats, you've beaten the one game Kikimora is the protagonist in. Give yourself a pat on the back and maybe some lunch.
Unfortunately this game doesn't have much in terms of lore, but it's an enjoyable game nevertheless. Here's a link of some gameplay.
youtube
Now how about the Tottemo Puyo Puyo Manga? What is it?
I'm glad you asked. To compensate for being unable to publish a video for y'all, I decided to speak a little bit about this goofy manga. So what's it about?
Unlike the world of Waku Puyo, this doesn't have a full storyline but rather sporadic storylines that have absolutely nothing to do with each other. They're purely on the comedic side. As well, the designs that were chosen, along with the artstyle itself, are based on Puyo SUN, what with how the characters' designs are drawn most notably Arle, Schezo, and Lagnus.
Since the storylines don't connect and are all separate, characters can pop in and out like nothing ever happened, or just...randomly waltz up like Lagnus himself did. (Which I cannot show because 10 image limit.)
Here, featured is Kikimora getting an injury from making a mistake, and Arle heals her before telling to take a break for half the day, SHOCKING Kiki. She starts saying how some areas aren't clean, and Arle volunteers to help, which makes Kiki beyond happy, and leads to us getting Arle in a maid suit trying her best to clean.

Unfortunately, due to that said 10 image limit, I cannot post a lot at once. (Wish it was like 15 instead,) but honestly, I'd recommend it. While you might not understand what's properly going on, (Believe me, I'm there to a point.) the visuals themselves kinda make up for it, and hey, if you do translate them, there's a 90% chance there's an incredibly silly and funny story to go along with it, like Schezo somehow making an amusement park. (My favorite Foreshadowing; The ones in gag mangas.) I'll post a link of some of the books here.
Hopefully this'll suffice. Again, my apologies for not really posting a video, I'll have one done sooner or later (aka about 2 weeks.)
Here's the final 2 images I've been saving up.

(Minor context: Kikimora kinda lured Arle into a job before surprising her with a party.)
With this, that'll be all this time.
See you next time.

Writer Q&A
Finally doing this, thank you for the tag @lexiklecksi!!
I tag: @wheres-all-the-tea-gone and @atmospheric and anyone who wants to do it
What motivates you to write?
An inherent desire to communicate and deal with certain feelings I have (usually bad ones). My big WIP On The End Of Everything is about characters that are very dissatisfied with their lives and with who they are but have no way of changing this, as well as an exaggeration of the apocalyptic feeling we get when we don't have our lives completely together (might that tell you something about me?). Both this story and my short story anthology WIP make political commentary in the stupidest way possible, like any scifi story should.
Every character has a trace of me and every trace of me is examined and judged in all sorts of situations. It's both a form of self-therapy and a way to unload nonsensical ideas and peculiar humour.
A line/short snippet of your writing that you are most proud/happy of. If not maybe share a line of someone else's work you love (just please credit them)
I like my poems best of the stuff I've written in the past 3 years, and there's a rather long one with some body horror elements (CW), but here are two verses from that one:
you may climb to the valley but the descent is steep there the partyhouse is filled to the brim here lie the parents, not awake nor asleep tie them together for their bodies are thin down the sea over yonder and into the deep see them drown and wonder, why had they no skin? a fly on the water comes to pose a conundrum if your face were another would you feel any different? then all insects fall dead to beat of a drum the wet blows are approaching and becoming vociferant another face is growing over your own now, how fun the next mouth utters sweetly the cry of an infant
What part of writing do you think you are the best at? (Yes stroke your own ego it's okay)
I'm not sure but I used to think descriptions? Especially of rather gorey and disturbing scenes, that's what I used to think. I haven't done that sort of thing in a while though, I hope I get to do it again soon. Well, apart from poems, as you can see.
But I think desciptions in general, they are my way of bringing the humour.
What do you enjoy most about the Writeblr community?
The fact we all stay curious about other people and their work! Plus everyone here is so earnestly in love with writing, it's nice.
A writing tool/device you use that helps you with writing? (It could be speech to text, a writing program etc)
Those synonym and rhyme websites, translators, but in my case especially wiktionary.org
A piece of worldbuilding that you like in your own story? (It could be the magic system, a particular place in the story, a law etc)
I like the world building in On The End Of Everything's first universe the best, but it's a sort of mystery so I don't want to spoiler it. To give you an idea of the current vibe (after all the worldbuilding that is to be uncovered); it is a universe with no sun, one planet that is able to support human life due to geothermic activity and an ecosystem of bioluminescent critters, and a human population with names like Nestlé (my main girl of this universe, I love her).
What piece of advice would you say to encourage others to write if they are having a rough patch?
If you're stuck just write Anything else. Could be a completely unrelated story idea you have or you can try to write the scene from someone else's perspective or write what someone completely different is doing somewhere else in-universe right now. Just because it won't be part of the finished story doesn't mean its not valuable. And hey, depending on the tone of your writing or how exciting the scene is you could just put it in anyway. For example: i dont really know how to write my current scene so instead i just wrote about a random bioluminescent dog called Stephen Colbert and his take on the scene. My writing is silly.

If you managed to find your way here to tumblr from twitter and/or reddit but it's not cutting it in terms of browsing and posting art, another option, im my opinion, is pixiv.
I won't go into excruciating detail since I don't wanna type out that much but basically pixiv is a Japanese art posting website and one of its best features, once again, in my opinion, is the tagging system. It's quite good and beyond tags for specific characters or series, or just original stuff as well, there's tags to describe the art or the character/setting of it, like the style or certain traits present in the art. An important detail that I should mention is that since pixiv is a Japanese website most of the tags are in Japanese, but at the same time most of the tags are translated. So for example if I search up "poke" the first suggestion is the tag in Japanese for pokemon with the translation underneath. This also applies to the tags under the art itself.
Also when you're searching you can have the filter so it will either search exactly the tag as you wrote it, or you can have it search for tags that have what you wrote included within it. This is especially useful because certain artworks will have a tag that usually follows the format of "[series][numbers]users入り" which basically is for more popular works, by that I mean anything over 100 bookmarks, that the OP can add later. It's quite useful when you wanna find more popular artworks without needing pixiv premium, more on that later, by just having "users" as a tag when you're searching via tag partial match. You can also filter by time, i.e. only seeing stuff from between one date and another.
At least on the app, whenever you "like" an artwork by pressing the little heart button, it'll get saved in your bookmarks page. Long pressing on it will let you be able to set the bookmark to private or to add tags to the bookmark which will let you filter by it on your bookmarks page. Do note though, that you can't search by the tags already on the artwork via bookmarks, without certain browser extensions on desktop.
There's also an option to toggle on/off R18 work in the settings
Of course pixiv ain't all good either and has its fair share of issues. There are many options that are limited to being solely on pixiv premium, which is the pixiv subscription service. Examples include: being able to sort by most popular, seeing your browsing history, being able to block more than one user/person, and similar things.
As mentioned before unless you yourself out the tag you can't actually search up by work tags in the bookmarks page.
Pixiv also lacks the ability to be able to share/retweet/reblog something which may hinder the amount of attention an artworks gets.
Also it's terribly unfortunate, but pixiv allows ai-generated stuff. However they are marked as such and you also have the option to filter them out entirely. This of course only applies if the original uploader marked it as such but in my experience it seems to be fine.
All of this is based on my own experiences, which is mainly as an art browser and less of an uploader so your mileage may vary.
This obviously isn't an exhaustive list so feel free to put your own 2 cents in if you want.

Kuro No Kiseki 2: Crimson Sin (fan translation) Review
youtube
I will be this game's strongest solider. I think this game gets hate that is really undeserved or at least most of the time is said by somebody who is not thinking at all. Does this game have flaws? Yes. Is this game a general departure of the trend where most arcs in the series are told in 2 game chunks? Kind of I guess? If you want to see it both these games as a single story then Kuro no Kiseki 2 is definitely doing less work to tell it than the first game. But I don't think that is a bad thing or that it means the story is bad in this game. It's certainly not revolutionary but I think it was an enjoyable story and does add to the larger narrative. Just because there are major world altering events or multiple major character introduction or you know like any of the super crazy stuff but also I think some of you are too used to games like Cold Steel 4 and Reverie coming out. Don't worry yall Kai is gonna come out for yall but let the real gamers enjoy some peak over here.
Music as always was great, I'm really not that picky about the music though I think it's good in every game. Kuro 1 already might have had my favorite main cast of the whole series so getting more time and development with them was great, especially because the game was more focused on character driven moments that most of the other games in the series. This is also probably the most fun the battle system has been in the series. Kuro 1's addition of the action rpg type battles was great, and they're even better here. It makes going through trash mobs more fresh at least, and at least in my experience I didn't find any crazy overpowered strategies or builds in this game (which is honestly a little unfortunate but thats okay). Once again the story is great, there are a lot of really great moments, and the way its set up and stuff really appeals to me in particular. I won't get in to spoilers here because I don't think I know anyone who can read them on a account of not wanting to be spoiled. I look forward to when it gets officially translated and more people are able to play it. One last thing I will comment on is the current state of the fan translation. I would say that that while it's not as good? Polished? Both the Kuro 1 and Kuro 2 fan translations have some errors or lines that still sound a little awkward, but Kuro 2 deffinately has more of it. It still reads pretty good, and most of the bad lines are in side material. There were some really motional lines in one scene that, while I don't know if they're still machine translations, they do feel like overly direct translations to the point where it sounds unnatrual, espically in context for how emotional the scene is. But really the only important thing is that if you can't wait for the official release the fan translation is definitely good enough for now.
