Do you have a ko-fi or anything similar? I've adored your work for months now and would LOVE to show my appreciation.
I'm the other half of That One Couple That Reads Your Fics that has commented on things in the past and truly just can't thank you enough for writing such beautiful work that hits so many notes that are so rarely seen. Specifically, thank you for the Karlach/Shadowheart series, as a trans gal who has had hormones hit me pretty hard in various ways, seeing a character like Shadowheart and her particular body behavior is extremely important go me and something I never see. You're doing great work, and you've got two lesbian readers who will read just about anything you do. (Minthara/Orin is a little too Oops all toxic fucked up misery for me, my partner loves it though!)
Heya anon! It's a pleasure to hear from the other half!!! I hope you two have been doing well since your partner's message, and that your journey on hormones has been a freeing one 💜
I just wanna say your words really touched me. I always get a lump in my throat when other trans women enjoy what I write. It's very special to me for obvious reasons.
I'm so happy that you found this in my lil stories and that you find them beautiful for this. Fanfiction desperately needs more stories of us in all forms, in all the ways our bodies as trans women can be different. That comes out in the ways that I write these characters. I couldn't be happier you feel this way. Fiction doesn't always have to be validating, but it's a unique feeling when it is.
Especially when it's a character like Shadowheart that I write specifically to be very different from myself when I do write her as trans. Despite that, it's almost euphoric when I see you and others feel themselves in her. Or really any of the characters.
(And don't worry about the Orinthara haha. I know not everything I write is for everyone, but I'm glad your partner enjoys them lol)
As for ko-fi or similar, (EDIT) see this response. But you can show your appreciation by reading, sharing wonderful messages like this with me, and saying hi every once in a while 💜

really helpful technique ^ once you know how to divide by halves and thirds it makes drawing evenly spaced things in perspective waaay easier:

I just think everyone should take a moment to consider the question "what is your visual shorthand for cruelty?" and then follow it up with a critical "and who taught you that?"
specific examples include but are not limited to
why is an evil timeline character design disabled? (why do the heroes go through equally punishing battles and never lose an arm, a leg, an eye?)
why are the futuristic scifi terrorists uniformly darker skinned? (why are the heroes so much lighter?)
why is the greedy boss fat? (why are the heroes skinny?)
why is the criminal mastermind heavily scarred? (why is the brooding, traumatized hero unscathed?)
why is the predatory creep a bearded person in a dress and makeup? (why are none of the heroes trans women?)
who taught you that this is how things are?
how long do you plan on repeating it?

The secret Dungeon Meshi sauce that's getting people to eat better is that it's so non-judgmental. Senshi and the rest of the gang never talk about what not to eat besides things that taste bad and literal poison. They don't even talk about "health" that much besides the importance of a balanced diet. It's so much easier to eat well when you think of food simply as something your body needs, and that it's often worth the extra effort to make it taste good, especially when you understand how to connect "things your body needs" with "things that taste good"

one of the most infuriating things about becoming an adult is when you realize that it actually is 10x easier to solve problems by making a phone call vs literally any other communication method

Hey all, you know how internet searches suck now? When the results are awful, full-of-AI, death-of-the-internet levels of bad?
Start appending date constraints to your searches - "before:2023".
My results have gone from 90% AI bullshit to ~60% usable - which frankly at this point is a huge improvement.
