The thing driving me so insane about Loid and Yor communicating so openly is that this is how a couple in an actual relationship would address the problems they're having
She's asking him to rely on her, saying that he doesn't need to put up appearances all the time, that she knows he's capable but she's here to help and wants to, that he doesn't need to be perfect.
They're in a fake marriage. Loid has repeatedly told her she doesn't have to do anything but be around for specific events, but Yor still genuinely took up the role of Anya's mom and has been actively working to be a good mother to her fake husband's daughter this entire time, and now she's gently pushing back on Loid about not helping him either.
They aren't in love yet, or at least aren't aware of any developing feelings, but Yor is still reaching out to Loid in a way that someone in a real committed relationship would to their partner. She doesn't need to!! She's completely in her right to not help him, to not care!! He has given her the explicit permission of it multiple times!! But she cares about him, Anya, and Bond, this little family they've created. She wants him to lean on her like she does on him
anyways thought it'd be fun, given my previous post about his dissociation with conversations, to try and guess what his takeaways were from his phone call with Charlie based on his reactions
Maybe I'm wrong about what he's catching and what he's missing but either way I had fun
strike through= what he missed
bold=what he caught
neither bold nor strikethrough= he might've heard it/made it out through the white noise, but not enough to connect the dots
RED= only heaven is in red cuz you cannot convince me otherwise that that's not a trigger word for him
Idk thought it’d be fun to try and guess what Lucifer is ACTUALLY hearing with his dissociation filter on let's GO
Lucifer: [insert absolute fail of hello]
Charlie: Hi Dad!
Lucifer: Hey! How are ya? Oh! Wh-wh-where are you these days?
Charlie: You know where I am, Dad… I’ve told you before…
Lucifer: You hAve? Oh. yeah Uh, erm well I um uh
Charlie: I told you when you called me five months ago! Or did you not listen?
Lucifer: No no no just forgot! I just forgot. I’ve been really busy with you know… um. iMpOrTanT tHiNgS
Charlie: Well I’m actually running a hotel to rehabilitate sinners, maybe you saw our commercial?
Lucifer: No? Sadly I… missed it!
Lucifer: You know I haven’t been watching much TV lately! Scrambles the brain!
Lucifer: but hey! A hotel! Fun!
Charlie: Listen, Dad, I’ve got kinda… a big ask?
Lucifer: -spit take- Yeah?! Of course! Anything in my power is yours for the asking you just name it
Charlie: I need to speak to heaven! Well, whoever’s in charge up there above Adam above anybody, I need to go to the top!
Lucifer: NO
Lucifer: no no no no
Lucifer: That’s uhahah no…
Charlie: Look! Dad! I don’t ask you for much. I never have, but this-this is really important to me. It’s the most important thing I’ve ever done and I… need… you… I need your help
Lucifer: I-... I don’t know Charlie
Charlie: Please just- Come see what I’m trying to do. You’ll see why it’s a really good idea and heaven is bound to agree if I get the chance to talk to them
Charlie: Please dad
Lucifer: wait… you’re… INVITING ME OVER???
Lucifer: ABSOLUTELY
Lucifer: I’LL BE THERE IN AN HOUR
___
so yeah, he can semi follow along but like crucial bits and pieces ARE being left out
Robin: I don’t mind that it’s not done yet, y’know..? It’s been cold, and you’ve been busy.
Oscar: A promise is a promise.
Robin: Is there a time limit on promises?
Oscar: Well, some.. I guess.
[Robin tried to remember if his father had promised him a treehouse on a specific timescale, but he couldn’t]
Oscar: Since you’re gonna be off school next week, how ‘bout we take a camping trip?
Robin: Really? Cool.
Oscar: Uh-huh! Ivan, Bruno n’ Pixie might join us for a day or two if Curly McGee can get time off work.
Robin: What about Jude?
Oscar: I don’t know about that, bud.. his mom probably signed him up for all sorts of extracurriculars n’ shit.
Robin: But he doesn’t like them.
Oscar: Maybe not, but that’s none of our business.
[Robin sighed; poor Jude never got to do anything fun whilst they were off. If it wasn’t extra tutoring, it was a piano lesson, or a “field trip” to a boring museum, or this or that. Robin hadn’t spent enough time around Jessie to fully understand why she pushed her son so hard, but he was always grateful for his parents relaxed approach in comparison to his friend’s relentless schedule]
Robin: Why don’t you force us to do stuff we don’t wanna do?
Oscar: I think you’d only resent us for it-.. do me a favour n’ don’t wind up being too lazy though, eh?
Robin: Does sleeping ‘til noon count?
Oscar: Guess it depends what you do when you get up.
Robin: Fair enough.
Oscar: Hm, fancy helping your old man since you’re finally awake?
Robin: Sure, I’ve got swim class in an hour though.
Oscar: Ah, I forgot it was Saturday-.. you like those, right?
Robin: I like Saturdays and swimming.
Oscar: You better not be pretending!
Robin: Nope!
Oscar: Good, ‘cause you don’t ever have to pretend around me…
[Robin squeezed Oscar, desperately wishing that were true. He wasn’t sure he could ever tell his parents the things he knew, or how he knew. They’d never look at him the same way again if he did, it’d surely ruin everything…]
I know this is random but reading your blog and seeing your art made me so motivated I made my 1st animation ever (not counting pixel art ones), after not drawing digitally in months and it looks kinda basic and it isn't colored but I made it and I'm really happy with it so I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you for motivating me to make digital art again! I hope you have a wonderful day/night :)
MKJSJWJW HI!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TELLING ME THATS GREAT!!! Animatics need time and patience so the fact you went straight for it is so cool!!!! I bet it looks lovely!
Do yall like, know how to enjoy something w/o constantly criticizing it? don't you want to enjoy something-- anything for what it is? if it gives you joy and makes you happy, you dont have to be critical and pick a part about it to be a 'real' fan of the thing, or to show you're aware of the whatever problems it has.
I just had to share this video because holy shit, it hits the nail right on the head! So well spoken. This stuff needs to be circulated more, esp with the growing number of people thinking they have this because of misinformation, or just outright faking it.
he told me my 6 months worth of work has to be scrapped and entirely redone in 2 weeks. thats literally impossible. i am the tiniest inconvenience away from having an entire meeting with him to read him a 5 page essay on how he has been of no help this entire semester and last and how he has done nothing but inconvenience me all year.
hes seen the work many times before but only brought up the issue now. 2 weeks before a progress report. He told me the thing hes been having me work on for an entire month cant be part of my progress report because its not specific enough.
IF THIS WAS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM HE WOULD HAVE ALREADY KNOWN AND HE SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME BEFORE I WAS 6 MONTHS IN.
he blatantly holds favoritism as every other student (they all happen to be cis men) get all the help in the world yet i get no help at all and when he tells me i have to scrap all my work he doesnt even point me in the right direction just says redo it you have 2 weeks.
this is a group project but every other group is doing one project with all people working together yet mine is doing one project each person meaning i cant even get assistance. two of the people in my group HAVE NOT SPOKEN A WORD TO ME SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR.
he is also needlessly rude. instead of just politely saying there might be an issue he feels the need to make me feel like an idiot for not realizing it sooner. I am half convinced this man finds joy in publicly humiliating and shaming me in any way possible. You are a grown ass man what the actual fuck. You are in your god damn 50s.
What are Suki and Jerry’s actual jobs in Crystal Entertainment? This has been on my mind since I first watched Sing 2, mainly due to the jobs they appear to have don’t line up with what we’re told they actually are. These are my thoughts on their actual company roles with explanations, I hope you enjoy!
Ps. I know there’s more evidence in this theory for Suki than Jerry but in my defense, we rarely actually see Jerry working and not just following Jimmy so...
- <3 Gooseless
Suki: The Chief Communications Officer (CCO)
Ok, so while we’re introduced to Suki as a talent scout, she actually doesn’t really act like one. In fact, a true talent scout would likely not have been as recognizable to avoid biased treatment. Nor would they have left before the full show is concluded as to be able to give an accurate review. She acts more like a company higher up, being recognizable and known in the industry, and seems to be in a position where she might go to shows after actual scouts have previewed them if they were going conflicting results, but she does not behave like an actual talent scout (again the leaving during the show).
Instead, she is constantly with both Jimmy and Jerry. She is constantly on her phone, on a tablet, talking to someone, she never stops working. She was in the room when Porsha’s firing was been discussed. And if she was a low level employee (like a talent scout), she definitely wouldn’t have been in that room. Jimmy considered that an embarrassment, he would limit the people who saw the direct response of said event. In fact, the only people in the room were Suki, Jerry (aka Jimmy’s right hand man), The Crystals, and the personal bodyguards who I can almost guarantee signed NDAs.
She also was important enough for Jimmy and Jerry to get her before going to the theatre. Why would you get a random talent scout to go to handle the people currently putting on a show behind your back? You wouldn’t, because that wouldn’t be necessary. A talent scout would not be helpful in that situation at all. The only logical conclusion I could come up with was that she isn’t a talent scout.
But do you know who would be privy to all the public and private workings of the company, who would be privy to all the information of the events going on? Especially since it’s their job? A chief communications officer. They run the publicity of the company, the contracts with other groups, and even the talent scout division (in rare cases). And Suki seems to handle this kinda stuff even within the movie. She is constantly typing what could be things like drafting news briefings or public statements about the show, which as it is high risk for the company, would likely be made by her. She is also there in every single big media moment of the company and seems to already know what’s going on (ie. didn’t react like Jimmy did in the news report scene, she already knew what was going on).
Also, just based on Jimmy’s personality, I don’t think he’d let a regular PR Officer/Talent Scout into any of those events either, so the only people in that room are heavily trusted by him. So, Suki being the CCO and technically on equal company footing as Jerry makes much more sense than her being a talent scout. Plus, her constantly acting as a line of communication between the company and the show is a job that occasionally falls on CCOs in high risk cases so, it makes sense she would be doing that as well.
Jerry: The Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Now Jerry… Jerry, Jerry, Jerry. He’s not a personal assistant. Unless this company has the world’s worst internal management structure in history, he cannot be a personal assistant. Because that would mean the one person, Jimmy, is running everything. Now as the CEO, he would be in charge in a broad sense and almost definitely has a few personal assistants, but that being Jerry doesn’t make sense in a corporate sense.
In fact, we see him work doing the movie a few times and, while his desk is situated like a secretary’s, we don’t actually see him treated as one by other employees. Jimmy does, but Jimmy treats everyone that way so it doesn’t count.
Instead we see the hotel calling Jerry directly when something goes wrong. They didn’t call Jimmy, or Suki, or any other staff member, they called Jerry. Now, that’s a role that falls onto chief operating officer, aka the person who is in charge of the day to day of the company. He would be working closely with the chief communications officer and the CEO because his work directly overlaps with theirs.
The CEO would be relying on him to handle the tiny details (like things happening with the hotel or media interactions on site) while the CCO would be relying on him to help with the presenting of the company and its work. And once again, I don’t think Jimmy would trust a secretary or personal assistant that much. But with a COO, if he goes down, so do they. It would be safer involving them in his plans. Also, the way other employees seem to differ to him wouldn’t being doing so if he was working exclusively with Jimmy (like a secretary or personal assistant), he has to have a larger company role.
I don't think I've said this before but I just wanted to take a moment and say that I don't practice reblog karma. If you want to reblog something from me, be it a meme, a musing, or art, then feel free! I don't care! I like it when people do that! Seriously, I'm always going to advocate for "ah yes, person reblogged a thing I like, I shall reblog it from them" in the rpc. And if I reblog something you like? Please, feel free to reblog it yourself. I won't ever ask you to send a meme in if you reblog one from me nor will I expect it; if you do, it's a pleasant surprise! But if you ever worried about it, consider this your greenlight to know that you are absolutely welcome to reblog anything but my asks/roleplay threads. I consider a reblog from me in the vein of "my humble offering has pleased my friends, yes yes, good" because I'm just that kind of person.
I could sit here for three hours and still not be able to touch even a smidge of the novel-length essay I’d like to write about jack’s teenage years and his addiction and his mental state and his dissociation from the world and his gradually distorted view of who and what he is or could be
and that’s before I even touch on the complex issue of what happened the night of the overdose and how aware (or unaware) of his actions jack was and the faint line between suicidal ideation and the desire to be numb to escape one’s torments, and which one jack was aiming for that day, and whether he’d even know the answer to this if asked
and after all of that I would still not come anywhere close to being able to fully analyze what jack’s stint at rehab was like, and what his thought process was like, and how complex someone’s mind must be to be doing time at rehab because hockey aggravated their anxiety so severely that they almost died, while also spending this time at rehab putting together a plan that’d allow them to go back to hockey - to go back to the source of all that, because even almost dying didn’t deter them from their dream
Back in April, I went pretty deep into my original character's roles they would have if they were in Arc-V. Out of my four OCs, the only one to 'canonically' have an interaction with an actual character is Lucio, who I've put in the Fusion dimension.
While I won't get too much into what he did (there is a content warning on that post for a reason) after being reprimanded by the Professor, Lucio was already pretty unhappy. Being met with a stuck up little prick who thinks he's too good for even Obelisk, so much so that he wears purple instead of blue, set him off the charts.
While they only interact once, Lucio would end up having a crazy grudge against Joeri and I think it's funny when two awful people hate each other.
