Okay SO basically this idea is built on the fact that Zane probably isn't stupid enough to let people just see him... committing mass murder and standing around hundreds of corpses?? Like he has a reputation to uphold, can't go breaking mama's heart, etc. etc.

Starts off very similar- Aaron's son comes home with some very obviously cursed amulet. Is like "Hey, dad! Look!" And Aaron is like. Holy shit put that away. As soon as he grabs it or triggers it in some way, the entire town dies, etc.

Zane isn't just vibing at the entrance laughing evilly like an idiot? So instead Aaron breaks down sobbing, absolutely destroyed by the death of everything he worked up to and had.

Sometime later Zane approaches the town with a group of guards with the expectation of finding some ten-year-old there confused as hell/crying.

Nope! There is this 7' mountain of pure muscle sobbing his heart out.

Zane approaches him with the intention of getting his guards to kill him. When Aaron instead prostrates before him and begs him to believe that he didn't do this, Zane's plans change.

Partially because Zane is so easy to manipulate if he thinks you're under his control, and also because he is nothing if not resourceful.

Also not sure if Aaron is the one with the relic, but if he is Zane recognises this and realises he cannot lose this opportunity to have a relic under his control.

So Zane agrees to hear him out under the condition he goes to jail willingly. Aaron of course does and once he's there Zane hears him out as if he wasn't the one to kill all of his friends and family.

Using this to his advantage, Zane moulds this gentle giant to his will. He convinces Aaron he wants to help him, that he believes him, that they can trust each other, etc. In his vulnerability, this is what Aaron needs and absolutely falls for it.

From there, Aaron spends some time resting and being cared for. Once better though, Zane hardly even needs to ask Aaron to be his guard. However, instead of becoming a member of the Jury of Nine, Aaron becomes his personal guard. He uses him to do any dirty work he doesn't want to be associated with, sneaking around, and following him on delicate missions.

You know Kronk and Yzma? Like that

Aaron refuses to acknowledge Zane's wrongdoings. To him, there is always a reason for his actions, an explanation, etc. He essentially woobifies Zane.

Eventually, Aaron is sent to Phoenix Drop to scout out Garroth. Either due to Aaron's lack of elegance or Aphmau and Aaron's relics being drawn to each other, Aphmau finds him in the woods. He is the worst liar + anxious as he's been majorly isolated by Zane so just stays silent. Aphmau misinterprets it as him being cool and mysterious.

While Zane is initially pissed, he eventually decides to keep Aaron there as a pair of eyes on the inside. Not even Brian knows he's there.

To shorten the story: Aphmau befriends him and he sees her as his daughter. I'm thinking she develops a one-sided crush on him, but absolutely loses it when he rejects her feelings since she's never really been told no. This break in their relationship is ultimately what keeps him with Zane when he opens up the portal to the Irene Dimension. This also removes the really OOC and forced 'villain arc' Garroth has. Irene bless.

I don't know if I want him to stay in the Irene Dimension to fight Zane, or if I want it to be someone else yet. TBH it's mostly up to him meeting Aphmau that I've been bouncing around in my noggin.

Not MCD but in Phoenix Drop High,

Aaron is a senior and Zane is his freshman childhood friend. Due to them being childhood friends, Aaron follows Zane around and helps him with his evil schemes. It's more comedic and fails horribly due to both of them being dorks. Both of them are too uncool to get into the Shadow Knights as well

ANYWAY those are my ideas. I could go on SO much about so many stupid things, but this is Aaron specifically!!! It might change, especially since I really want to fuck with Garroth and Laurences arcs.... (Also I think the boys deserve to have some sort of relationship outside of Aphmau) (Also this was weird to write since in my re-write Aphmau is called Apple...) I wont go on and on about ch 10 since it’s the latest chapter and honestly I probably already sent you asks about it when I first read it. I do love a touched starved Regina finally getting cuddles tho, like I loved that for her - the whole “it feels like a hug but better because it’s lasting longer” ??? God. Poor child. Someone get her a weighted blanket and an emotional support animal rn lmao. Also the way you wrote the “oh shit im gay” realization was perfect - I am beyond happy that our resident blonde idiot is learning about herself.

Have there been parts of the story that haven’t been specifically commented on/asked about (by me or by other readers) that you think are noteworthy? Like is there anything you spent a ridiculously long time drafting or a part that you just really love?

Do you think you’d ever write from Janis’s point of view, or do you prefer Regina’s pov?

Finally, it seems like most of the friend group is at least slightly aware that there’s tensions/feelings/something going on between regina and Janis - do you think Cady has picked up on it, or is she just happily existing in her own little clueless bubble?

I struggled a bit with writing the realization bit, so I'm happy it came across well!!

Honestly, I can't think of any specific bits that I wish people would mention. Like there could possibly be some, but none off the top of my head lol Luckily so far, the parts that I've loved writing have also been parts that readers have enjoyed!

I definitely prefer Regina's POV, but I think the next story I write for them will switch between Janis and Regina's POVs. It'll be fun trying to get into Janis' head a little tbh

I find it absolutely hilarious how from "I don't ship anyone her so far" I went into "MOREID", but then David and Aaron completely took over every ship I might've had before. At some point something in me clicked & my brain went, "??? !!!!". It's kind of logical once I think about it enough: Dave only came out to play with the team in 3x06 and I got a taste of him way later (and Gideon was nowhere close to Aaron for me, definitely platonic).

I still have ideas to stuff both moreid and hossi into one fic, but i still consider it a hossi fanfic, though. They're just... kind of my entire personality rn tbh. I absolutely LOVE that ship & it's a shame they're so unpopular. It's my second nature at this point: unpopular ships.

i do in fact! i've actually been meaning to make a post about how i choose to write all of the foxes' ethnicities anyway

but yes i absolutely agree that the typical pinterest model types u generally see on edits is not how i see any of them. nor is reece king or froy gutierrez or lucky blue smith one of my FCs for anyone

for a lot of them i don't necessarily have a single specific FC so much as i have like,, a general impression of features that i will see on various different people, who all may look wildly different from each other or who may not even look how i see the character as a whole but do have a specific feature i associate with them. mostly it boils down to the Energy i get tbh and that's just a Feeling i cant even explain

2. Kevin

ethnicity: a lot of things tbd, but he's pretty multi-ethnic. i like the idea of kayleigh being half- or a quarter-japanese in addition to irish because it gives her more of a reason to go to japan for her undergrad. wymack is from d.c. which is a majority black city for its actual residents, but i also like the idea of him being Pasifika/Hawaiian. HOWEVER - and this is pretty important to my read of kevin's character - he's white passing, and has been mostly treated as a white guy who tans his whole life, like occasionally asked if he's italian maybe. learning that his father was a Distinctly Not White Man was a big shock to him.

kristin kreuk, lindsay price, phoebe cates, and marie digby are all half-asian actresses i base kayleigh on

i suppose i base his story partially on broadway actress carol channing, who revealed publically that she was a quarter black when she was like 80 years old. though maybe wentworth miller, a biracial actor who knows his father is black but also doesn't know him, is more accurate to kevin's story. then keanu reeves is a white passing actor with asian ancestry

also none of these people look anything like how i picture kevin lol. kevin is just like,, a guy. handsome ig. but kind of in a CW character kind of way

appearance: definitely takes after his mother while his father is white passing. dark brown skin, warm undertones. slightly stocky build. tall ovular head and thin aquiline nose. he's kind of just,, the opposite of the twins ig, so like their facial features look very different, which is a big part of why people don't make the connection between him and the twins alongside the difference in their skin tones, heights, and builds. nicky's build and features are very vertically-oriented, with a tall head, narrow-set eyes, thin nose with a high bridge, etc. the twins are horizontally-orienged, with broad, flat faces, wide-set eyes, wide noses with a low bridge, etc.

FC/Energy: yalitza aparicio, not a guy but one of the few Mexican Indigenous stars in the film industry and i really like her features for nicky. she's oaxacan

9. Renee

ethnicity: Black. african american

Particularly au fics, cause u saying that u sometimes ponder andreil having met when they were in their 60s made me think maybe andreil aus are ur thing? Okay so I actually have a bookmarks list, but I'm hoping to go back and read them and see if I still like them now lol, since my taste has changed a lot over the years and since I started to critically think about fandom culture. I bookmark a lot of stuff even if it contains trends I criticize in fandom culture since… those trends are largely unavoidable. But anyways here's my bookmarks list, its pretty mixed:

I guess Au’s are my thing maybe, I've never really thought about it. I have a detailed list of all the different AFTG fanfic ideas I have, some detailed backstories and HC’s of various foxes, some au’s. I have 13 HC fic ideas rn in that file that are canon compliant, either before or after canon, and about 20 on the AU list, but a lot of those are a more vague “this movie/book au” while some have a lot of detailed notes and ideas. I have no idea how many of these ill actually ever write or publish tbh, I like to think about them mostly for myself and sometimes posting my art or writing can discourage me due to lack of traction/popularity. I struggle with comparing myself to others tbh which is why I stopped posting so much art.

As for Andrew and Neil meeting in their 60’s, there is just so many different ways it could go. I once thought of an AU where they meet once when they're in their early 20’s for a period of time, and then meet  again by chance in their 60’s and have a moment of “oh I remember you.” It really depends on a lot of factors and how they would have gotten to that point in the first place. 

30 is half of 60, but I'm casually writing a fic where Andrew and Neil meet in their early 30s as neighbors in an apartment complex and due to a rent increase and the pandemic have to move in as roomates. I’m writing it with a friend and not taking it very seriously atm and I don't know when/if ill be posting it, since it’s mostly for me and him to enjoy right now, and I'm trying to focus on foxholes. It was just supposed to be a “bored roomates stuck in quarantine end up with a FWB situation AU”–but since it’s Andrew and Neil, I ended up planning out the last 10 years of their lives and what happened and how they're different from their canon selves and why they would be where they are and how would they get close enough to even get to that point. 

They're both very different and similar to the people they are in canon, they never really developed in the ways they do in canon, but they're stuck in a new way than before. Andrew’s deal with Aaron has expired and Andrew’s let himself get forgotten, refusing to reach back out and keep contact with anyone. The team lost it’s class I status. Neil never graduated from high school and when his mother died the car exploded while he was burning it, and he got badly injured. I had fun constructing a bunch of details in the background and random technical details that aren’t needed for the basic premise of the fic, but I personally prefer to think about.

It’s not how I personally think stuff would go down, but it’s still a good read. It’s also on my bookmarked list so clearly I liked it enough to give myself the option of going back and rereading it again later. 

But anyways, I essentially need a stronger framework to even begin to think about how Andrew and Neil would act if they met in their 60’s, there are just so many options. Probably didn’t give the response you were expecting, but who knows maybe one day I’ll make a bullet fic or two.

Favourite muse(s) you’ve written: Truthfully, I haven’t written very many. I’ve only done OCs---any time I’ve contemplated canon, I never really go through with it. I do want to write characters like Bayonetta and Catherine (ATLUS), but I know I only have the capacity for one---maybe two at a time. Anything else is just a pipe dream.

If I had to choose, Jin was really wonderful. She deserved so much better. And so did I, honestly. Alas, all I can do to immortalize her is to make her my FC. She was my first tumblr muse---and that means I really, really haven’t written many, for I’ve only had a grand total of five. And two were immediately abandoned.

What inspired you to take on your current muse (that you are posting this on): My friend @theseasirens and I just wanted to RP tbh. The community was pretty barren until we showed up and everyone just... popped out of the woodworks, which was pretty nice. We were banking on Spla2n reviving everyone, but an early resurgence is a good one.

Splatoon is my special interest. I have fun playing it, and I want to play with others, too---so a lot of my posts as of late have been me just gaming. Granted, most people get tired of playing with me after a while, but I can understand why.

What are your favorite aspects of your current muse: She’s... extremely multifaceted. I’ve worked a lot on her history. I am in love with her design, her symbolism, and her annoying mannerisms. Of all the characters I’ve created who started off with bad pasts, her own has constantly kept up with her, albeit I wish I had more opportunities to show it. I get ecstatic when I’m told she is very fleshed out and relatable. She’s the epitome of perfect child who burnt out, but she’s suffered the burnout long before she ever deserved to.

What’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to writing: No idea. It smacks me in the face. It will take forever for me to ever write anything. I’m a person who needs the perfect environment (just dont be fucking hot, really... I hate this place). Music and mood really helps, too. Sometimes Bon screams at me what to do. Other times, I end up with like, 25+ drafts going untouched for weeks until I slash them all in one fell swing. Kinda annoying. Looks at my drafts rn like... can’t wait for it again.

Favorite types of threads:  I love threads that challenge your muse! Whether it be a fight, morals, or what have you---I just want them to rethink their lives as much as I do. I also reeeeally love intense fluff, because I’m a slut for fluff. Just warm fuzzies. I could use lots, lots, lots more of that in my life. I just really like to write scenarios a lot, no matter what it may be.

Biggest struggle in regards to your current muse:  Goodness, um... Writing-wise? She’s used to having her way. So when she’s challenged---and cornered in a way that she cannot refute, she becomes unresponsive, or petty. The pettiness is reserved for close friends she doesn’t mind showing her whiny true self to, but the others? She has to fight tooth and nail to justify her already shattered perceptions. 

I also worry that I’ve... done perhaps too much work on her. A lot of it may never come to fruition. That honestly ends up being the case a lot. But... sometimes my fears are quelled, just because... maybe it’s better off that it isn’t. I was told I don’t call a lot of dramatic attention to it, which I don’t, because... I’d rather people find out on their own, IC. It’s cooler that way to me. She has a lot of little things about her that relates to her character as a whole, and for one character to find out all the little ins and outs of it? I think that would mean the world to the both of us.

Oh, and I have to write fucking super haughty because... it’s her. So. That’s always a fun pain in the ass.

 + Max and Ruby are the oldest two cats  + we adopted them somewhere around… 6-7 years ago, with their sister, Nicole (R.I.P)  + tbh these cats must be so confused bc our mum has had mood flashes where “they have to stay outside!!” comes up at least once a year  + usually followed by us slowly letting them trickle in until she gives it up  + but they were originally only indoor cats, then only outdoor, then both, outdoor, both, indoor, both, outdoor, both, outdoor, and we’re back to both :’)  + Max used to be so freaking fat  + like you have no idea  + my cousin actually thought he was pregnant, it was hysterical  + Ruby is the biggest priss ever  + a while ago, no pets were allowed on my parents bed (all the cats are allowed now)  + but Ruby was allowed. Ruby was always allowed  + also she is??? The lightest thing ever??? I’m not kidding I don’t think she even weighs over pound??? How is she related to Max????  + Ruby is also really really soft omg  + I feel the need to mention here; Grey(r.i.p), who was the sweetest cat on earth. She was also really soft and shed everywhere but we loved her anyway and I miss her so much  + don’t be fooled, Max well come lay on you and purr  + (he has an extremely loud purr btw)  + but then comes the drool. How does a cat hold that much drool???  + and then he’ll start biting. Hint: he also won’t stop easily  + also he has been really interested in our food lately idk why  + Smith is terrified of the dogs (especially Iggy)  + but also the dogs are terrified of her (except Iggy???)  + her name is an acronym for Skinny Mama in the House  + bc her original name was Skinny  + but now it should really be Fmith bc she is no longer skinny  + she let herself go  + she had six kittens but one of them has been missing for a few months so we think he’s gone  + which sucks bc he was one of my favorite cats: Bat(R.I.P?), who was really big boned and took things from one sisters room and dragged it under someone else’s bed, then took things from their room under someone ELSE’S bed and it was a never ending chain  + I think Blue is trying to live out Bat’s legacy  + he stole my mp3 player, and earbuds (they weren’t even attached wtf Blue??)  + Bat also would play with the devil-dog aka Iggy  + Blue brushes up against my dog, Sophia and she looks at him in confusion  + when he was still small he curled up at the spot where my neck and shoulder meet??? And yet weighs more than Ruby somehow???  + Armin, yes he’s named after the aot character  + his name was originally going to be Aaron but our mum complained at us to change it since it is our brothers name  + he’s v v cuddley when he sleeps in my room  + other than that?
