Naruto Modern AU/Hollywood pt.1 - The Uchiha Family & Sasuke.
All types of reasons have led certain people to the level/status of celebrity. We will explore it in this Modern AU of Naruto. Oh yes, starting a new project (regardless of all the stuff in the drafts) as a means to share my lore and practice digital art.
They are your typical influential family/lineage/clan in the world of celebrity-dom and Hollywood. Taking their root foundation in Madara Uchiha who made a lot of money exploiting the land’s abundant minerals along with Hashirama Senju when they created Konoha. He built the foundation block of the Country’s central bank and police department. Yes, Madara lost most of his wealth through the years to the sin of gambling and failed business ventures. To this point of being a historical comedic fact of the past, his descendant Fugaku Uchiha had to rebrand and start with a "fresh foot" in a different industry; Technology & Scientific Lobbying/Investing. Along with ownership in the industrial prison complex but he’s not telling you the second part.
Finances magazine "The Ryô Treasury" loves to paint Fugaku as a self-made businessman who worked hard and won the investment lottery. These types of publications love to omit to the public the fact that anyone in the Uchiha clan born after Madara is technically a trust fund kid/nepo baby. Fugaku included since like most of his close and distant relatives were born into the higher class regardless of the money Madara lost throughout the years.
Many historians and the media do their best to conceal the depth of the influence Madara had on the country of fire and cover it up with the "billionaire gone broke" narrative because he had controversial political and social views that led to his fall apart from Hashirama Senju centuries ago.
Many industries go to the higher clans like the Hyuuga, Uchiha, Aburame & Senju for funding since they own a lot of the country’s resources and various entities. It’s hard to tell because it is well concealed on purpose like how the cheap wine you buy at the grocery store comes from a vineyard owned by a Senju who operates under a different surname.
With all that status and money, Fugaku married Mikoto (from an unknown background) and created the main and most popular unit of his clan with his two sons: Itachi and Sasuke.
Let’s Start with Sasuke:
He lived, along with his older brother, the typical luxury childhood with a large main mansion, a cottage summer home in France, maids, going to a 7-star school no one can find on Google Maps &, etc. The intense security of such a sheltered childhood created a rebellious fire in him. So, out of the blue at 18yo packed his bags and left his parents' house without warning. He settled on the rough side in the major city of Konoha to reinvent himself. After discarding his surname and blow-drying his hair, he dived into one of his hidden passions; music. With his dad’s funds, purchased a few guitars and started to compose music. Not only for pure love for the art form but in the hope of making a name for himself, to stand on his own feet and not hide in his brother’s shadow anymore. The fact that Itachi’s career was taking off around that time was pocking at his justified sibling inferiority complex (but he’ll never admit it).
After many trials and errors, he was able to befriend a few people while still refusing to disclose his identity. Like a random young guitarist coming up from the struggle, he created the punk rock band Taka along with Suigetsu (2nd guitar), Karin (bass), and Juugo (drums). They went from performing in small clubs to selling out large venues and becoming the most recognizable punk rock figure of their era and sending them on tours across different cities and countries.
Keep in mind they were able to pierce the market in Iwagakure due to the large rock music scene bringing a new sound standing out from the traditional heavy metal of the country of stone. They couldn’t say the same about other large cities like Sunagakure and Kumogakure who were at that time close to the outside musical influences until recently.
Sasuke took pride in his achievements accomplished without his father’s connections. The band was extremely popular among teens and young adults for their good music, edgy aesthetic, and participation in the punk/emo subculture.
Let’s not lie, a lot of their female fanbase was in love with the handsome lead singer Sasuke. He was an iconic punk/emo fashion icon for his legendary smoky under-eye makeup and spiky hair. All the members rocked some type of spiky haircut as well who were immensely popular at the time. Regardless of the focus on Sasuke, many of their fans love Suigetsu with his unique looks, great sense of humor, and certified crowd-hyping skills. Karin, the one and only e-girl punk girly, and Juugo, the sweet muscular teddy bear drummer who composed a lot of the band’s songs along with Sasuke. Their sound is akin to Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’s Don’t You Fake It and early day Paramore.

Unfortunately, the band disbanded 5 years later for many reasons. First, punk rock’s popularity fell by the wayside and was outshined by rap & hip hop from Kumo (this era was short-lived). Also, Sasuke realized that all the members were growing apart in different ventures for their lives:
- Sasuke: By mistake, his family name was discovered. Somehow, he avoided the fraud accusation but realized he didn’t want to be a singer all his life. He outgrew it Also his father finally reached out to him and promised to guarantee his son’s future career venture if he came back so they could play into the "influential family" unit image Fukagu wanted to create (think of the Kardashians). Being interested in modeling, Sasuke complied.
- Suigetsu: Always wanted to do something in his hometown (Kiri). He kind of went off the spotlight, rumors say he is working with artists from Kiri and is a DJ wearing a full-face helmet, so we might never know…
- Juugo: Always known he had a talent and passion for photography, so he pursued it as a career. After putting a few portfolios out here, he was recruited by the renowned fashion, designer Orochimaru and it’s in his circles where he met A-List fashion model, Kimimaro. They are now engaged.
- Karin: She is now a bass and guitar instructor at the most prestigious music Academy in Konoha. The breakup was tougher on her for many reasons but the fact that Sasuke started dating and is now married to the professional wrestler and fitness influencer Sakura Haruno played a huge role in it at the time but she’s now comfortable with their relationship, and she became the godmother of his daughter.
All these things happening at the same time made the disbandment a little smoother to digest for them but was a huge shock for their fans.
Sasuke is now a model operating under Orochimaru. His handsome looks, talent, and father’s connections allowed him to make a name for himself. He keeps lending juicy contracts left and right. For some reason, he has regained pride in his family name and wears it publicly. Despite his efforts, he is back to being the Young brother in his parents’ eyes, but he doesn’t care anymore. Him and Itachi are 2 distinct entities at this point and get rarely mentioned together in most professional settings.
Sasuke is now busy and married with a daughter named Sarada. He can’t let these ideas get to him since he has a relatively good public image and enjoys his privacy (he doesn’t share too much about himself or his family with the public). He has blatant rudeness towards paparazzi, interviewers, and anyone talking to him. Pretty privilege allows him to be labeled as an introvert and keep it pushing.

Hi can you do Madara with number 2. Love your writing style especially the Madara ones.
(Part 2 of the Uchiha Mafia AU) @twilightlover2007
2) Madara: Oh, can’t find your clothes? Wear mine, they look better on you anyway.
Thank you so much for your words!! I truly appreacite you take the time to request something, thank you!
In fact, this prompt inspired me to make this writing part of the same world as this Mafia AU I did for Izuna, happening in the same universe, you know?
Technically, in that piece, I didn't reveal Izuna was part of the mafia, but well, now we know!!
I like to think the readers of both stories are two different characters, because I wouldn't want the same (Y/N) fucking both brothers at the same time lol.
Eventually, both stories will come together as one.
Vain, cocky, smug Uchiha, the one who knows how to fuck a woman with finesse and leave her satisfied to then gloat about his handiwork. The one who knows where and how to touch, what pressure and at what speed, to get you undone under his hands and show you a mocking smile.
The world's largest mafia family carries the rumor of having the best sexual performance, and (Y/N) experienced firsthand the reason for this saying. The famous phrase goes something like "Ugly shall be that Uchiha who doesn't know what he is doing in bed." and (Y/N) now understands it doesn't apply to this man's case.
Probably to nobody in the family, considering they are all so damn beautiful.
Madara, he had said his name was, Uchiha Madara. (Y/N) was surprised to spontaneously meet someone from such an important clan on a Friday night at a bar. It was he who approached her, sweet-talked her with pretty words and expensive liquor, and pulled her into his car amid kisses and heated advances.
...
The girl wakes up with a hint of pain between her legs telling stories about the night before, and all alone in bed. She can hear the shower in the background and assumes her companion jumped in it to get ready for the day.
It's Saturday, yet the man goes to work all the same.
The sun shines timidly on the horizon through the window, and (Y/N) estimates it's not even 6 am. She took a small, involuntary nap when Madara finished eating her pussy, passing out from both stimulation and exhaustion.
They had arrived at his house around 10 p.m. after having a few drinks, the Uchiha winning her over with his charm and looks. The girl could not refuse the invitation of such a beautiful man and fell easily into his bed. He pleasured her all night long, alternating between his fingers, cock, and tongue to make her touch the sky with her hands.
Just when (Y/N) thought he was done with her, a new round began. They moved around the room in different positions, holding her against the mirror so she could look at herself while he fucked her from behind, bent over his vanity for easier access to her pussy, on the bed turned over to swallow his dick, and almost choking in the attempt because of its size.
The man prove to know what he was doing, to the point where (Y/N) could not get her body to respond. By the time she finally passed out from pleasure and fatigue, he let her rest for as long as it would take him to shower and dress for his morning meetings.
…
The girl looks at her body and notices she is, of course, completely naked. There are a series of scratches and bites decorating her skin, memories that will remain for her to later tell her friends and show evidence. Sitting up on the mattress, she looks around the floor for her clothes, but they seem to have vanished.
Neither under the bed, nor among the sheets, nor between all the objects left scattered around the room. None of her garments want to show up and give her a hand, and (Y/N) feels totally exposed. It's one thing to fuck a beautiful man who knows what he's doing with a few drinks under her belt, but it's quite another to confront him face to face after a cheeky night like the one they had.
Even more so if, on top of that, it's an Uchiha man we’re talking about.
"Looking for this?" Madara smirks at her from the entrance of the bathroom, leaning against the door frame with a towel around his waist. He looks fresh out of the shower, with droplets falling down his body unabashedly and his hair fully pulled back away from his face. On his index finger, he holds her black thong and flashes it teasingly in her face. "I regret to inform you it will remain here, for my collection, of course."
As if his words were not at all scandalous, he proceeds to his dressing room and changes into his business suit as if nothing. After boxers and pants, he buttons his white collared shirt sickeningly fast, ignoring the naked girl on his bed. "I need... I need my... I can't leave without..."
"Oh, can't find your clothes? Wear mine, they will look better on you anyway."
The Uchiha tosses her a pair of gym pants that presumably fits her too big with a pajama shirt, and finds among the mess in the room her heels. It will be a flashy and bizarre outfit, to say the least, but it will get her home without having to walk around naked.
"There's a car waiting for you downstairs, to drive you home. It's my head driver. I'll see you soon, (Y/N)." Finishing getting ready as he speaks, the Uchiha smiles mischievously at her one last time before walking out of the room. A few seconds later, she hears the front entrance close, and the girl tries to recap what happened.
She just fucked one of the biggest mobsters in the world, and he confirmed they would meet again. Maybe not explicitly, but you know what I mean. Stunned, she alludes to the effort of searching for her dress and decides to settle into her bizarre attire, leaving Madara's penthouse to head for the parking lot.
…
"Miss (Y/N)?" A man in a suit and sunglasses asks leaning against an Audi Nardo gray RS3. If the luxury of the Uchiha's home wasn't too much, he noticeably doesn't skimp with his transportation either. The presumed driver opens the door, then closes it behind her once she’s in. He doesn't even ask her home address, heading towards the location as if he already knew it in advance. Looking at her through the rearview mirror, he notices the girl catches on to this detail and explains with a smile "There is nothing escaping the Uchiha. Once you are connected with one of them, they know everything about you. More so if we talk about second in command."

I have many ask in my mind I want to share but I don’t want to throw it all over you lol.
If Kishimoto grant you a permission to fix Naruto series. What would you do to fix it?
I have several of them.
There are lack of women in Akatsuki. Add more women in Akatsuki so Konan won’t feel lonely as sole female. I thought it will be awesome to see women in Akatsuki. We need more badass women like Konan in Naruto series.
Second, definitely give Tenten screen time lol #TentenNeedSomeLove
Third, Obito his hatred to Shinobi system world and searched for a way to bring “peace” to everyone. Rin’s death is his big final spark. I want give him more background story where he saw all horrible thing when he going solo mission or accompany with Minato before his final mission with team. Also Include Rin’s death completely broke him and despaired give him reason to start this rather than just Rin’s death.
So yeah, that all. What about you?
I don't mind. :)
--
In regards to the Akatsuki; I would keep it as it is... each character was absolutely iconic, the Akatsuki as an organization itself is iconic but what I would change about the Akatsuki is making them more feared than they look. Add some more darkness and menacing aspects to the characters, I guess?
Tenten was butchered. I think she had more potential than fucking weapons. An artist (Steoh) drew AUs of her having an affinity for space-time ninjutsu, so that could be added to her character.
Neji doesn't fucking die for NaruHina to happen.
Add more background story of Obito dealing with his clan since he was considered to be a black sheep (we get it, he's technically "dark naruto" but he had his own uniqueness too, yet I want to see him function more within the Uchiha clan). We get to know more about who his parents were, how they died and how it affected Obito.
Explore more of Obito and Rin's friendship. Yes, Rin was always there for him, wiping up the mess he makes - but what brought them together since childhood and what makes Rin believe in him so much. I guess I would add more intimate friendship moments between them.
We get to see Rin's reaction after his death because why the fuck do we only see Kakashi going through trauma and not the person that cared about him the most?
--
Perhaps many more, but that's all for now. :)

Sometimes I look through my WIPs and go, wow, I wish I had the focus to write this, maybe someday…
I’ll probably get to this one day, because I think it’s funny, and I don’t want to pronounce it dead quite yet. It’s saved in my writing folder as Sasuke Retrieves and it is a skeleton of memes and incorrect quotes so don’t expect anything actually important from this post, I just needed to shake the plot bunnies out my ear drums rn.
It’s quite literally just the reverse of Shippuden, where instead of Naruto and Sakura are trying to get Sasuke to come back to the Hidden Leaf with Sai in tow, it is Sai kind of kidnaps Naruto and Sakura and the three of them are going on an adventure, trying to find the remnants of Uzushio, while Sasuke is in the background, losing his shit. This all takes place in their last year at the Academy, so Sasuke hasn’t been tortured for a second time by Itachi and he’s like, something is fishy, I have so many questions, time to get dumbass 1 and dumbass 2 back while I’m at it.
In an attempt to impress Sasuke when she was 10, Sakura decides that if anyone can recreate Lord First’s Wood Release jutsu, it’s gonna be her because the Senju and Uchiha founded the Leaf together, so mastering a legendary Senju jutsu is totally going to impress him. The ANBU who watch over the Leaf alert Lord Third (and Danzo) to the fact that a small, pink haired child keeps trying to apply chakra to seeds in her hands, making the seeds explode. Lord Third is like, probably nothing will come up of it, but can you imagine if this small child did that? That would be pretty dope. They’d have another Wood Release user to control Naruto if he loses control of the Nine Tails. Danzo decides that he can spare one small child to invest in this pink one’s development.
So Danzo sends Sai in, Sai poses as a “normal” ninja in training to help guide Sakura (mostly just pass her some scrolls on chakra control, Water and Earth Release style jutsu, and on his own volition, Sai keeps gifting her botany books). Sakura is like, this guy is my age but so weird like he’s never seen another human being before, but he is taking me seriously and helps me so I guess I could be his friend. Naruto more or less bursts onto the scene of their training on accident, and once he is confident that Sai and Sakura aren’t boyfriend-girlfriend, just inserts himself into the training. Sai enjoys goading him into fights, Naruto thinks it’s awesome that Sai is sharing all these cool jutsu with him and Sakura (it’s for Sakura but he’s witnessing it and considering himself a student), and Sakura enjoys having Sai take her seriously and having Naruto gush over her chakra control and experiment process, even if she loudly denies it. She is even starting to make some progress by making existing buds flower. She is also noticing that something is off about Naruto’s background.
But Danzo is going to Danzo, and he ruins it. He forces Sai to choose between killing Shin or Sakura. Shin is dying and he’s like, welp, technically, a Wood Release user is of more benefit to the village, and he dies. Sai does not take it well, and he goes off to confront Sakura. Sakura has no idea wtf is going on, just that Sai is going crazy (from grief). Sai tells her to make his brother’s death worth it, and keeps shoving a peach pit in her face and demanding she make a tree. Sakura is vaguely aware that something bigger is going on here, but Sai has slammed all of her buttons and hit all insecurities and so she takes the seed, tosses it at the ground with an angry “SHANNARO!”, and a tree erupts from the ground. Both Sai and Sakura are surprised by the tree, and Sakura gets in one laugh before fainting from exhaustion.
Sai panics. And so he picks her up and runs like Hell. Danzo’s ruthless, emotionless soldier process has officially backfired. Naruto follows him out of the village. When Sakura wakes up, the three of them are at the Valley of the End. Sai explains that he needs to GTFO and intends to take his only two friends with him. He convinces them by explaining that Danzo sent him to Sakura so that she could become strong enough to control the Nine Tails without needing to rely on Sasuke, and confirms Sakura’s suspicion that Naruto is related to the Nine Tails, just not the way she thought. Naruto isn’t the Nine Tails himself, but a fantastic piece of Uzumaki Tupperware. Naruto is blindsided because what do you mean the Uzumaki clan is famous? He has been alone for so long, why did he have to be all alone? He didn’t ask to be the vessel to the Nine Tails.
The three decide screw it, we’re going on a field trip to Uzushio to see if we can find Naruto’s family and maybe get the Nine Tails into an adult so the people of the Leaf stop hating him (they don’t know that that could kill Naruto). Meanwhile, back at the Leaf…

*starts vibrating immediately* *becomes an unskippable dialogue* @starry-bi-sky
Oh god oh shit. Ok. So. Hear me out. Itachi is THE Brother in Naruto verse. Ultimate brocon kinda guy but a bit unhinged given he's raised as a ninja in a ninja clan. He's Sasuke's older brother and the heir of the Uchiha clan but for some reason their clan wants to start a coup against Konoha (their village) but Danzo (shitty warhawk elder of the council. We hate him) dont want that but at the time Itachi was undercover in Danzo's secret shadow army and Danzo made a deal with Itachi that he will spare his brother (Sasuke) if he kills everyone else in his clan( If he doesn't Danzo will get every Uchiha killed INCLUDING his baby bro for treason). Itachi's like bet then killed everyone except his brother then put Sasuke (aged 7) in a genjutsu (illusion) where he shows him how he killed their clan over and over again. Traumatizing him so that he (sasuke) can 'unlock' their clan ability (Sharingan. The red eye pinwheel thing that does magic). But he told Sasuke that he only spared his life because he's not worth killing. He taunted him to hate him. That the only way sasuke can kill/get revenge is to hate him (because hate fuels their sharingan). So he'd be powerful until then sasuke should hate him because right now he's weak.
Its a whole thing in the rest of the series where itachi left the village (so that sasuke wont be associated with him and be washed away from the 'sins' of their clan's treason against the village. The official story given was that he suddenly went crazy and killed his clan for no reason and no one checked why) and considered a fugitive joining a dangerous fugitive group (of which he's actually spying on and sending info about to the village as an actual mission), sasuke doesn't know and he hates him, vows to kill his brother, then whenever they meet itachi beats the shit outta sasuke, sometimes almost killing him then telling him he's weak because he lacks hate but never killing him. There's a whole meme about it actually.

So like Itachi, Danny pushed Damian into hating him and hurting him to train him into being stronger so that he can survive at LOA. Damian genuinely believes that Danny wants to kill him and so he hates him and doesnt know the kinds of things he does in the background to help him. Danny doesnt correct Dami's misconception but actually encourages his hatred so that, in a twisted way, Dami could be safe. Like Itachi, he left LOA and supposedly cut ties (faked death) but probably still answers/reports to Talia like how Itachi still technically reports to Konoha despite being a supposed fugitive.
So there's that *jazz hands* thank you for coming to my ted talk
There are two things that Damian knows that he knows Father doesn’t.
He has an older brother
He was dead
(And a secret third thing: Damian was glad he was dead. They did not get along.)
Well. No, correction, they were two things that Damian knew that Father didn't. Past tense. Strange magic swirled through the air and created a mirage before his eyes, and immediately a scowl forms across his face.
The mirage shifts and shimmers like the light hitting a slowly turning prism, and then it settles into a memory. One that Damian does not recall. Like looking into a tv screen, it shows, faintly, a room, with most of the magic going into the image of a crib.
His mother was standing on one side, and next to her, standing on his tiptoes was a small five year old boy looking up at her. With dark hair and skin that was only few shades lighter brown than Damian's, the little boy's resemblance to Damian was undeniable.
However, his eyes were blue. Not green. Damian's scowl deepens, and he sinks back. "Danyal." He mutters, and feels eyes turn on to him.
Danyal Al Ghul. Damian's older brother. A prodigal swordsman like Damian, and five years his senior. He'd be fifteen if he was still alive. His memory of the last time he saw his brother was still clear in his mind.
(A sword to Danyal's neck. Stars were glittering through his window. Damian was five, Danyal ten. He is not sure why Danyal had snuck into his room, all he remembers is hearing a sound and on instinct reaching for his sword.)
(His brother had intercepted easily. But had not shoved the sword away. Moonlight hit his blue eyes, and Damian remembers seeing the pupils shrink to let the light in. His eyes looked almost silver.)
(His brother bares his teeth at him. Damian wants to slice his neck more than anything, and he bares his teeth back. "Good." Danyal says, his voice low in a hiss, "Your reflexes are good, little brother.")
("Of course they are," Damian remembers snarling, and presses the sword closer. But it does not budge. "I am an Al Ghul.")
(Something unrecognizable passes through his brother's eyes, and his mouth twists into something like a smile. "I know." He says, and tilts his head downwards at him. "And you will be great.")
(His brother shoves the sword back, causing Damian to stumble. And like the wind, he is gone.)
(The next morning, he goes on a mission with mother and a few others. Mother is the only one to return with Danyal's sword, and a red-eyed look in her eyes. Damian does not mourn. Now there's only one of them.)
"Momma." The little Danyal-mirage speaks, a furrow between his childlike brows as mother lowers a bundle into the crib. His blue eyes watch her, and lifts onto his toes to peer into the crib as she sets the baby down. "Who is this?"
Their mother's hand comes to rest along his back. "This is Damian, my son." She murmurs, voice low. "He is your little brother. Protect him well."
Damian scoffs internally -- not likely. He remembers every spar he ever had with Danyal, every harsh word and insult. His pushing, pushing, pushing for Damian to get up. To try again. Do it again. The only kindness he ever showed him was when his fingers bled. And even that was harsh, firm. Rolling gauze around his wrist and scolding him, telling him how to wield his weapon better.
(It was the same as everyone else, but somehow it hurt worse coming from his own brother.)
But he watches his older brother's youngest self tilt his head to the side, and then reach his chubby hand through the crib's bars. He runs small, blunt fingers over the baby's arm, and the baby jerks. Through the crib's bars, Damian sees himself grab Danyal's fingers.
And he scowls even deeper.
And Danyal's eyes... widen. He lets out a little gasp, and a small smile Damian's never seen him wear tilts at the corner of his mouth as he looks up at their mother. "Mother," he whispers, "he grabbed me!"
Damian... his scowl falters, for a moment.
He doesn't wait for a response, he looks back to the baby with sparking eyes. His expression melts like sugar as he bounces the finger being gripped tight by the small hand. "Hello, little brother." His brother says, voice its of usual firmness, but there's more fondness underlying it than Damian's ever heard. "My name is Danyal."
The mirage shifts before Damian can comprehend his older brother's voice. It shows the crib again, appearing as if a few days had passed. There is night lilting through the nearby window, and a creek of the door. The baby doesn't stir.
Danyal sneaks in, still wearing his training clothes and a sword strapped to his side. Damian's scowl returns, watching him creep over to the crib. Of course -- the last night he saw his brother wasn't the only time he'd snuck into his room.
Would he go so low as to attack an infant? Damian wonders, watching his brother cross the room to his crib. But while his fingers rest against the hilt, they never curl to unsheathe.
His brother peers into the crib again, and there it is again, that smile wider in the corner of his mouth. It's not a full one, but its as uninhibited as it gets. Dripping honey-sweet with awe. "You are so tiny." Danyal whispers, and pokes a finger back through the crib. It wriggles, then pokes Damian's cheek gently. "Was I as small as you when mother gave birth to me?"
There is no response from the baby. Not a coherent one anyways, the little thing snuffles and turns his head, mouth open to latch. Danyal stills, his eyes grow ever wider again.
Danyal says nothing else, just rests his cheek against the crib and watches the baby sleep in silence. The affection never leaves his young face.
Damian feels unsettled. Off-foot. This Danyal is foreign to him... He wonders what happened to have changed his brother's mind on him.
There's a scuffle, quiet, but there. Danyal picks up on it just as Damian does, and his head pricks up like a deer, head already turning away from the crib. The affection leaves his face, falling away like water into something serious. His blade is already slightly unsheathed.
Two assassins, belonging to grandfather, burst out of the shadows. Their swords swinging into the air and ready to strike.
Danyal kills them both, his back to the crib. It's not without struggle, and when the two assassins lay dead on the floor, the baby is wailing at the top of his lungs. Danyal has a laceration cleaving down diagonal of his cheek. It's close to his eye, just barely missed blinding him.
Damian never knew how he got that scar. He does now. (He doesn't know how to feel about it.)
His brother clutches his bleeding face, sheathing his sword as tears well up onto his face. But he turns towards the crib, and hurries over. "You're okay, you're okay, you're okay." He hushes rapidly, the League-drilled seriousness fallen away to reveal a panic-stricken five year old. He sticks one hand into the crib, the one not clutching anything, and grabs little Damian's hand.
Their mother comes bursting in that moment, and Danyal turns his head towards her. "Mother." He says, his voice cracks un-wantingly. Their mother steps over the bodies of the assassins easily. "They tried to kill Damian."
"But they did not." Talias says, kneeling down next to the crib to inspect Danyal's face and Damian's well-being. When she finds nothing of concern beyond the injury, she continues. "You killed them before they could, Danyal. Well done."
The mirage of his brother nods, his eyes teary and red.
Damian... is discomfited. he never thought Danyal would kill assassins for him. He would have thought his brother would sooner look the other way. The mirage shifts again, and it quickly shows time passing.
Danyal sits in Damian's nursery every night, after that. He lays at the foot of the crib with his sword, a pillow and a blanket with him. Some nights there is nothing but peace -- or as close to peace as a baby could achieve -- and some days assassins break in.
Danyal kills each one.
The mirage shifts again, and it shows more memories of Danyal interacting with Damian during his youth too young for him to remember. His first steps, his first words.
"Danya." The small toddler of Damian says, arms reaching for Danyal.
A frown curls across Danyal's face, and pulls Damian into his lap. "No, no, little brother." He scolds, voice firm but.. softer. "It is Danyal, Damian. Danyal."
"Danya!"
Damian's brother sighs, but there is that same-small tilt at the corner of his mouth. A glimmer in his eyes. A glimmer... that Damian is finding he recognizes.
(He always thought his brother got that look in his eyes when he was mocking him. Was he wrong?)
The mirage shifts again, and this time it shows only mother and Danyal, alone. Danyal is older, taller. Seven, if Damian had to guess. Mother has a stern look on her face, her hands tight on his shoulders. "Damian will be starting training soon, my son."
Ah, then close to eight then. Training starts, always, at three years old. He watches Danyal nod, his expression mimicking their mother's. His arms are folded, always folded, behind his back, always neat.
"You can no longer have the relationship with your brother as you did before." Mother says.
Danyal's expression... falters. It shifts, it fluctuates. He looks surprised, thrown off. Like he isn't quite sure he heard what mother just said. His brows furrow. "What... do you mean, mother?"
"I mean what I said, Danyal." Mother says, stern, "Ra's will be keeping a closer eye on Damian now that he is of age to begin his training. He will not like if he sees you both getting along."
"I am sorry, my child. But your relationship with Damian ends here. You are rivals now, not brothers." In a cruel form a gentleness, mother raises her hand and tucks a stray curl out of Danyal's face.
Of course. Damian never had a relationship with his brother because of Grandfather. Of course. No, he's not feeling a little bitter. No. There's not an inner child that still, like a candleflame, wishes that he'd had a bond with his only flesh and blood.
Danyal is dead now. So it's not like it matters. He's happy about this.
Danyal frowns, and he steps back. He looks lost in thought. "We are still brothers, mother," he says, argues, and looks up to meet mother's eyes. "Let me train him, I will make sure he gets the skill he needs. If we must be rivals, then I will teach him how to defeat me. If he can defeat me, he can defeat anybody."
Their mother, and Damian, both blink in unison. Then mother smiles something sharp, calculated. She folds her hands behind her back. "Then do it. But you will make him hate you."
"...So be it."
Damian.... Damian is silent. His world axis has been tilted on its head. He is sliding, and sliding, and sliding down. Spinning. Many things click into place at once.
More memories from the mirage show. It shows Danyal training Damian. It shows their arguing, their bickering. It shows Danyal going to their mother to praise Damian and his skills, how fast he is picking up on the sword. How one day he will surpass even him.
It shows Danyal sitting outside Damian's bedroom door every night, listening in for anyone who dares to break in. His knees drawn to his chest, his sword at his side. Sometimes he sneaks in, sword drawn, when he hears a sound.
Some nights, Damian wakes up. He remembers those nights. Danyal standing over his bed with his sword unsheathed and tight at his side. He remembers the instant terror as he immediately reached for his own weapon.
His brother always scolded him for his lack of vigilance. That had he been anyone else, Damian would have had his neck cut. He would've been dead already. It only made Damian's hatred of him grow.
But he understands now. Because there were assassins in the room that Damian, four years old, three, did not notice. Not until later. He always assumed the attacks on him after Danyal's death had been because now there was a new heir to target.
It had been the only lesson he'd been even somewhat grateful for.
Then finally the mirage shimmers, and it shows Danyal, ten years old, in one of the training rooms, mid-spar with Mother. It's fast, sharp, impressive and like a blur. Damian is unsure if at ten which one of them was the better swordsman. Some of the assassins who have never met Danyal said Damian was, but the ones who had said it was Danyal. He'll never know.
In a lull in the fight, when their swords are crossed, mother speaks. "Ra's wants you and Damian to fight." She says, teeth grit into a deep scowl. The cross breaks and Danyal jumps back, he frowns.
"We have fought, mother." He says, and dives in first, swinging for mother's feet. Mother dodges, and slices at his arm. He swerves out of the way, twisting on his feet like a dance. "We are always fighting, doesn't he see our spars?"
"Not a spar like that, my son." Mother says, a snarl in her voice. She lunges, and Danyal blocks her blade. "A fight to the death. Father has grown tired of having two heirs."
That gets Danyal's attention -- or, more accurately, it distracts it. His eyes widen, and his sword lowers for a single moment. A mistake. "What?" Is all he gets out before mother has him on his back, her blade pressed to his throat.
He freezes. As does Damian. Danyal's brows furrow, then unfurrow, only to knot up again. "Mother, what do you mean a fight to the death?" He flips to his feet when mother removes the sword. She walks over to grab her water.
"Must I repeat myself, Danyal?" Mother snaps, rubbing her forehead before swigging from her canteen. "Father wants to find out which one of you is the stronger heir, and so you will fight to the death after your training in a few days."
Danyal's tan face loses a shade of color, he looks ashy. "There must be some mistake!" He exclaims, his arms gesturing out as he peers around mother. "There is a five year disparity between us, Damian has only just started training two years ago. It would be an unfair fight!"
"Do you think me unaware?" Mother whirls on him, and there is a grief-stricken look on her face. Like she is already mourning Damian's death. Damian feels ill. "Your skill is far beyond what Damian can accomplish right now, and there is nothing that I say that can convince Father otherwise."
Danyal wears an expression like he is scrambling for answers. A white knuckle grip on his weapon. There is a long silence, and his lower lip curls up. His throat bobs, he swallows. "Is there really nothing we can do?"
Mother makes a frustrated sound, pushing her loose hairs out of her face. "Not unless Father changes his mind, or I send one of you away. But Father would surely send someone to look for you or Damian."
"What if one of us faked our death?"
Mother stills. As does Damian. No, he thinks, stiff as a rod, no way. These mirages were lying, nothing but figments of an imagination. Of some quiet what-if that Damian had not yet stomped out.
Mother's expression shifts, and then turns contemplative. Danyal notices, and keeps pushing, he looks as hopeful as he could get beyond his usual unwavering, stone-like expression. "One of us could go to father--"
"No." Mother cuts off, voice sharp. Danyal wilts, confusion flittering across his face. Damian, from the corner of his eye, sees Father tense as stone. His white-slit eyes have not left the mirage. Nobody's has.
"Father will undoubtedly check there first, it would not be a good idea. You or Damian will have to go somewhere where he would not think to look. Someone unaffiliated with the League."
Danyal's face falls, shutters, and then closes up again into stone. Mother begins to pace, and Danyal's blue eyes follow her. "So a stranger?" He asks, and there is disgust lilting into his voice.
Mother nods, and she looks just as offput as Danyal.
The mirage of Damian's brother rolls his shoulders back. "Then I will do it, mother." He says, voice unwavering. There is a stubborn note behind it all, one that Damian recognizes. "I will fake my death, and Damian will stay here."
Mother's eyes turn sharp on him, and she stops in her spot. She pivots. "Are you sure?" She asks, eyebrow raising, "There is a chance you will never meet your Father if you leave. Nor will you see I or Damian again, if you do this."
Something like fear flickers across Danyal's face, eyes widening momentarily -- as if that very thought had not crossed his mind. But then it smooths over to sharp determination. He nods. "It would be the same for Damian if it was him instead. I will do it, Mother."
Damian feels ill again. Father has a strong set in his jaw, his teeth grinding.
Mother stares at Danyal, and then her expression softens. And like before, it is grieving. "In a few days time, I and another member of the League will be going on a mission to the American States. I will tell Father that you will accompany me, once there we will dispose of the other member and then orchestrate your death."
The American States. Danyal was here, in the country. He was out there somewhere -- but no this was fake. It had to be. Danyal was dead. A fool who got himself killed on a mission with mother and left the title of Heir to Damian.
Or maybe it had been his plan all along. His and mother's both.
...Was mother ever going to tell him?
The mirage of Danyal nods, sharp. Understanding. There is a gleam in his eyes that is not pride, it is tears. And when Mother leaves the room and leaves him alone, the stone-like expression on his face crumbles and falls.
His brother, ten years old, curls up his lip in an ugly way. It wobbles as the tears in his eyes do, and he brings up his hand to slam it over his mouth. And sinks to his knees, a yell-like sob muffled behind the skin.
His brother, ten years old, looks smaller than Damian remembers him being, and cries.
Damian has never seen Danyal cry. Not once in the mirage of memories, nor in his own.
The memory holds for a minute, and then disappears. And no new one shows up. The magic is gone, and it leaves a silence in its wake. Heavy, staticky, and full of revelations.
So there are two things that Damian knows that his Father now knows too.
He has an older brother
His older brother is alive.
(And a new secret third thing: Damian wasn't sure how to feel about it.)

manga rant
(c) Kishimoto Masashi (Naruto)
OMFG.
yes. i did say that outloud. well..until the "F" part..haha
Naruto.. goodness. GOODNESS.
CAAAREEEEEEEYZEEEEEEEEEE.
I truly am ALWAYS drawn to the SHAPE-SHIFTERs of the story [blame Joseph Campbell for the Hero's Journey reference]
anyhow. yes.
shape-shifter. who died. AGAIN.
like…Severus Snape for Harry Potter.. y'know?
and Uchiha Itachi for Naruto
awesoooooooooooooooome!!!!
[radical mood swift]
..not. great. that means i get to mourn for itachi too.. for who knows how long. i mean..it's been MONTHS since jiraiya died.. and i still mourn for him. now. itachi. great. just great. sigh
…………………………………….anyhow. movin' on to BLEACH. hm.. i really like the flashbacks. that i do. because we get to see urahara, yoruichi and the vaizards..when they ALL shinigamis. i like it. but seriously? chapter 318. WHY oh WHY did Urahara "technically" FREE kurotsuchi mayuti..that freak. grrrrr… i don't like it. coz that means urahara is TECHNICALLY the reason why uryuu's grandfather died, etc. how annoying. >< but. still. i won't judge urahara until i find other things. i mean… i like to think of him as a man with MANY regrets. besides. he's one of my favorite characters. [background music: dun dun dun DUN!!! <--aka.. he has at least 80% chance of dying or disappearing in the series..LOL] but. yeah..
ummm..so. update with my life?
spring break's almost over.
and i haven't done a thing. bad. LOL..
but i'll do that now.
hopefully. hahaha

Who Waits For Love {Ongoing}
Chapter 1: Set In Stone
The ambiance of the city managed to penetrate through the thin walls of the almost quiet apartment. A thin trail of smoke rose up from the lit cigarette that lay in the ashtray. The sounds of the long forgotten television, stuck on the news channel, played in the background as a body lay on the worn out sofa. Thick, dark locs covered the arm rest, one hand spilling over the edge, loosely holding onto a pair of gold framed glasses. Soft snores filled the apartment, drowned out by the sudden shrill sound of a telephone. As the sounds got too loud to ignore, a groan left the mouth of the couch’s occupant, a lazy hand reached to shut off the cursed device.
“It’s—“ They checked the time on the small watch. The ticking sound was ever so quiet that one would have to strain their ears to hear it. “Three in the morning, what do you want?”
“I think we might have found a lead.”
———— ˳༄꠶ ————
Closing the closet door with a soft click, Uchiha Sasuke fixed the jacket of his suit as he gave himself a quick look over in the mirror. Grabbing his satchel and his car keys, he walked out of his room with everything he needed for the day. Stopping in the kitchen, he filled up his work tumbler with steaming hot coffee and grabbed a plain cinnamon bagel. The sound of his phone ringing filled the small bachelors apartment, making him roll his eyes at the familiar ringtone.
Slipping on his shoes and resting against the wall, Sasuke answered the phone and pressed it to his ear as he worked with both hands. “Good morning.”
“Someone’s awake very early; how uncharacteristic of you.” A woman’s voice rang in his ear. He could hear as she closed a microwave and got out some plates. “I’m usually the one who has to wake you up every morning.”
“Consider it a break for today. I have to be in the office earlier than planned.” He locked his apartment and made his way to the elevator. Whilst he waited, he switched on his bluetooth earphone.
“A break?” She laughed, “that’s a good one, Uchiha. Anyway, my father was wondering if you’d like to have dinner tonight with the rest of the family.”
“What time?”
“Don’t make excuses, I know what you’re like, Sasuke.” She chided before she answered his question.
“I wasn’t planning on doing anything, Miss Hyuga.” His voice dripped with slight sarcasm and playfulness. “I wouldn’t dare miss the dinners your father keeps inviting me to.”
“You know you’re part of the family now. He thinks of you as the son he never had.” She paused, “and it’s at eight tonight.”
“What about your cousin, technically he’s blood related but I barely see him at those dinners.” Sasuke opened his car door and placed his satchel on the passenger seat as he buckled his seatbelt.
“Neji has been busy abroad, ya’know, always traveling and taking care of the family business since I didn’t want to do it. Neither did Hanabi.” She licked the jam off of her finger as she put her sandwich together.
Picking up her plate, Hyuga Hinata sat at the table with her laptop open and a cup of steaming hot tea beside it. She placed her phone on speaker as she filled out some documents and listened to him drive.
“Are you working from home today?”
“Mhm, the shop is closed and I need to take inventory to figure out what we need to order. Lee is going to pick those things up for me at the warehouse.”
“Lucky you.” Sasuke grumbled as he listened to her eat and talk.
“I told you that we could have opened our own bakery when we were younger but you refused because it was too ‘mundane’ for you.” She stifled a snicker as she heard him groan at the reminder.
“Good on you for finding something you like.” He came to a red light and tapped his fingers against the steering wheel as he waited. “So, dinner at your father’s place tonight. Is that all you called to bother me about?”
“I’ll drop by your office for lunch. I have another idea that I need your opinion on.” Hinata fixed her glasses and brushed her bangs out of her face. “Don’t worry, it’s not something silly like ‘what color should I make the frosting this time?’.”
“You might not find me there at noon. I have a meeting then; some statistics, a few proposals and business modules — Itachi has been working me to the bone since we graduated.”
“I can tell since you sound old.” She laughed.
“I’ll talk to you later.” He interjected, his eyes narrowed at the car in front of him as he listened to her.
“I’m sorry.” She apologized, “it’s just fun teasing you.”
“You’ve been doing it for years.”
“And I’m not planning on stopping. How about you focus on driving and I’ll see you later?”
“Hm.”
They had been best friends since they were children. Their relationship confused many; he didn’t seem like the type to find solace in her presence and she was too shy for her own good. In all honesty, he didn’t like her at first either.
As children, they were placed into the same martial arts class. That’s where Sasuke had first laid eyes on the pale eyed girl. Her glasses were pushed against her face and she looked at everyone with tear filled eyes as she hid behind her father.
"Now listen carefully, Sasuke," Fugaku commanded, his gaze piercing into his son. "I expect nothing less than excellence from you. Your brother was at the top of his class, and I have the same expectations for you."
Sasuke nodded solemnly, absorbing his father's words. His gaze never left the timid girl who remained clinging to her father's pant leg.
Hinata scanned the room with shyness evident in her eyes. Unexpectedly, their gazes met, but Sasuke responded with a dismissive scoff, quickly averting his eyes.
Returning his focus to his father, Sasuke noticed him approaching and starting a conversation with the girl's father, before gesturing for him to join them.
"Allow me to present my son, Sasuke." Fugaku's introduction prompted the man in front of them to smile warmly.
With his eyes still trained on the girl in front of him, he felt his father tap his head slightly to make him bow in respect.
"And this is Hinata," the girl’s father introduced, gently coaxing her away from his leg and guiding her closer to Sasuke.
Hinata's eyes widened at their proximity, she retreated, seeking solace behind her father's protective presence.
As their martial arts class commenced, Sasuke found himself observing Hinata from the corner of his eye. She appeared nervous, her small frame almost trembling with uncertainty. While he possessed a competitive spirit and thirsted for power, he couldn't fathom why his father would pair him with someone who seemed incapable of keeping up.
The instructor demonstrated a series of intricate movements, and Sasuke executed them with precision and grace, his skills honed through years of dedicated training. He couldn't help but contrast his own prowess with Hinata's hesitancy.
During their lessons, she would constantly trip over her own feet and sit in a corner with envious eyes as she watched the other children train. Sasuke thought she wasn’t fit to be in the class. She was just too shy and soft! She always apologizes too and it annoyed him to no end.
From that day forth, whenever his older brother would pick him up from practice, he would tell him all about the quiet girl who everyone laughed at.
Until one day she had approached him and asked him for help. He had never spoken to her before, and the thing he noticed the most was her stutter. Perhaps he was a little blunt, he watched her cry when he told her to shut up because her stutter was annoying.
As punishment from their instructor, he was to be her sparring partner for the rest of the year and he hated that. During their first sparring test, he had to fight her and thought with confidence that he would obviously win.
Sasuke and Hinata faced off against each other. Determined to prove herself, Hinata stepped onto the mat with a focused expression. Sasuke, fueled by his competitive spirit, launched a series of swift and powerful strikes, anticipating an easy victory.
To his surprise, Hinata's reflexes sharpened, and she adeptly evaded his attacks, displaying an uncanny ability to predict his movements. With a sudden burst of speed, she countered, catching Sasuke off guard. The impact of her strike left him momentarily stunned.
As Sasuke regained his composure, he met Hinata's gaze. Instead of fear or submission, he saw determination and strength in her eyes. The tables had turned, and Hinata's resilience and growth had become undeniable. Despite his initial disdain, a newfound respect began to form within Sasuke's heart.
Everyday since then, he would find himself striking up a conversation, guiding her through their kata, and defending her from those who made fun of her for the same stutter he had gotten used to.
Sasuke didn’t know what happened but they became close.
They went to school together, they were put in the same class every single year as if someone was making sure that they stuck together. She would come over on the weekends if she was allowed to and he would accompany her everywhere. They were never seen apart.
No one would have thought that he used to despise the Hyūga girl with a passion when he was younger.
People often joked that they behaved as siblings. She was the younger sister he never had, and in return, he [as well as his brother] became her older brothers. The Uchiha family was a second home for Hinata just as the Hyūga family was a second home for Sasuke.
“You’re late today.” The receptionist looked up from her computer and offered him a smile.
“Bite me.” He mumbled and rolled his eyes.
“Gladly!” She called out as he ignored her.
Making his way to his designated floor with quick steps, Sasuke picked up some files and paid no attention to the people around him. Opening the office door, he was just in time for the meeting, and he couldn’t help but mumble under his breath a quick thanks to his best friend for making sure that he wasn’t extremely late.
———— ˳༄꠶ ————
“Someone seems extremely exhausted.” She pushed a container of food in front of him with a bottle of ginger ale. “What happened in that meeting?”
Sasuke thanked her silently and opened the container to be greeted by the smell of fresh stir fried rice with tomato slices on the side and triangle onigiri in one of the compartments. “The usual.” He mumbled and picked up the chopsticks she always paired with his meals. “Itachi and his snide remarks, boring lectures about statistics and the occasional call from my father to ask if the meeting is alright.”
“That’s not so bad.”
“You know Itachi and how he can get.” He ate his tomatoes happily and leaned back against his seat with a sigh. “Always up for teasing his precious little brother whenever he can get in some stupid remark that no one would understand but me.”
“Hm, I guess it can get a little bit annoying. Once again, you can come work for me instead!” She perked up and smiled. “The offer will always stay on the table.”
“Do I want to work for my best friend who teases me or my older brother who teases me?” He raised his eyebrow. “I’m still not quite sure what changed for you to be so confident in yourself to make fun of me.”
She shrugged, “maybe Itachi rubbed off on me as much as you did.”
“Another thing for me to curse him for.” Sasuke grumbled and rolled his eyes. “About that dinner later…”
“You’re not canceling on me now, are you? I’ve already told father that you will be there and he’s expecting you.” She nibbled on her croissant, watching him eat the food she prepared.
Even if he didn’t say it, Hinata knew that Sasuke preferred her food over any take out. In fact, since he discovered that she was interested in the culinary arts instead of martial arts, he had made it his business to try whatever she made. It was why he was the taste tester for her baked goods at her little shop. A taste tester for anything not sweet. He hated sweets.
“I was just wondering if I should bring some wine.” He mumbled. “Is your sister of age yet?”
“She’s not but I don’t think she would care very much for the drinking activities we will partake in. Hanabi may be nosy, but she could care less about that sort of thing.”
“I’ll bring some apple juice for the kid then.”
Hinata smiled behind her hand and shook her head. “If she heard you, she would be very upset.
“When has she ever not been upset at me? No matter what I do, she would complain about the ‘snot nosed pompous Uchiha’ who you’re friends with.” He finished his food and closed the container as he took a sip of his drink.
“I guess you do have a point.”
The two continued talking as Sasuke prepared himself to return to the office after his lunch break. Hinata offered to drop him off in the lobby but he declined; knowing that the receptionist would once again ask him if the pale eyed woman was his girlfriend.
“I’ll see you tonight?” She thanked him as he held open the door of her car.
“Hn.”
“Don’t be late.”
“Hn.”
“Tell Itachi I said ‘hello’.”
“No.”
“I know you will.” She started the vehicle, “work hard and don’t slack off or else he’d call me and gossip as if he’s a teenage girl.”
“Goodbye, Hinata.” He closed her door before she could continue to stall her leave any longer and watched as she backed out of her parking spot with defeated shoulders. Waving lazily, Sasuke prepared for another couple of long hours sitting in his office.

@oh-no-its-bird
Within this AU, I think it's unlikely that Sasuke will have a redemption arc bc Izuna would never support it. For Izuna, Sasuke doesn't have to redeem himself for anything. Konoha has always been a mistake. It's more likely that Izuna will fill Sasuke's head with all the reasons why he should never return to Konoha (that is, if the village is still standing). I doubt Naruto will be able to convince Sasuke, Izuna has a silver tongue and very valid arguments. I can imagine him saying: "Why do you have to redeem yourself? It was Konoha who oppressed us, killed our family and stole our Sharingan! They are the ones who should redeem themselves; ask for our forgiveness and make amends! See, they are not doing any of that! They are forcing you to bow down to them!" Then Team Taka leaves under the pretext of redeeming themselves but in reality they are escaping through the front door. 🤫shhh no one knows that Izuna took Madara's Rinnegan and has plans to use it.
Want to know more about this? I'll tell you! Technically the Rinnegan belongs to Izuna (he gave his eyes to Madara before he died) so he's just taking back what's his. Izuna is totally the type of person with a grudge. He gave his eyes to Madara with the promise of protecting the Clan and annihilating the Senjus. Guess what Madara actually did? (He had his reasons, okay? There were Uchihas defecting; his people were losing faith in him and he had to think about the civilians, the elderly, the orphans and the widows. Madara couldn't continue the war like this) - but Izuna isn't taking this into consideration. He's pissed about everything. So he takes his brother's Rinnegan and says he'll do what needs to be done.
After convincing Sasuke that Konoha will always be shit, Team Taka leaves and bam! Dimensional Travel! Oh the Rinnegan is truly so OP. Izuna loves it. He's so, so proud to be an Uchiha. (Uchihas are totally demigods, that's Canon!)
Then they show up somewhere back in the Warring States period. Now here's a plot point. Izuna could arrive after his counterpart dies and take his place (and use his new powers to annihilate the Senju; see aniki this is how you do it) or he could go further and kill Butsuma before he has any children (then no Hashirama or Tobirama will be born, how wonderful), or he could send Hashirama to the desert dimension and let the Senju jubokku dry up, or to the fire or ice dimension. All of these options sound great for Izuna. While Tobirama... oh well. it's got to be something really creative to make him suffer. Izuna is still thinking about how to get revenge on him. Anyway, I can think of many more, but that's it for now. Izuna is having his brain working overtime for several other possibilities – (don't forget, he's still an Edo Tensei. He'll live forever and will have plenty of time to raise the Uchiha and annihilate his enemies)
Somewhere in the background Izuna is distracting his brother so he won't miss (or pity) the Senju. Maybe Izuna supports the idea of building a village (without Senjus). Madara will surely be too busy to watch Izuna's schemes too closely. (The silly older brother does whatever his precious little brother wants.) Sasuke is surrounded by relatives who like him. It's not the same as having his first family back, but at least it helps heal his wounded heart. The grandmothers of the clan dote on him, the girls still smile and blush around him (but at least he's not being harassed so it's not so bad), he trains with other Uchihas his age, hears a lot of stories about the clan and immerses himself in the culture he was deprived of knowing and living. The rest of Team Taka is there, causing chaos and complaining about prehistoric life without technology, but they are happy to be together.
omg this was long :c
Fic where, in practicing to get edo tensei right, Orochimaru uses Izuna as a test subject and tries to substitute DNA to make it work, using Suigetsu's bc like it's extra flexible or whatever bc shape change
Edo tensei mermaid Izuna locked in a tube somewhere in Oro's lab,,
He's SO mad about it and has literally no information ab what's going on at all bc hes locked in a fucking tube !!
Bonus points if Orochimaru doesn't even specifically know who he is
They unearthed him w the rest of the founders on a whim but bc no one really requested him specifically, the body just kinda sat there and eventually got mixed in w the rest of the Uchiha corpses, till Orochimaru requests an Uchiha corpse and they shrug and send him over
He still has Madara's eyes too (left alone either by oversight / or bc they decided not to pull them before he got mixed in w the other bodies, who had by then already gotten scooped of their eyes so they assumed he'd already been harvested)
Ok but like. No one even tells him what happened/where he is/that madara made the village. Why would anyone?? The only one Izuna sees regularly is Orochimaru, and he doesn't know those facts would matter??
Izuna doesn't even know what Konoha IS, he isn't gonna recognize the name
From Izuna's perspective, he died in his bed and then BOOM. Tank time.
Orochimaru might tell him it's been some years since his death (thinking he died in the massacre) and even if Izuna doesn't believe him bc like, enemy, enemy territory, he sure as fuck probably won't be thinking "Ah yes it's been decades since my death and my brother went against my dying wishes to make that village"
Tho he might get nervous and start picking up those cues when he sees the tech
Oro mentions offhand that the Uchiha were all killed and Izuna immediatley assumes the Senju won the war and loses it
He'd figure it out eventually obviously (probably after being set free, most likley by Sasuke w Suigetsu) But he'd also probably keep that to himself, bc like, enemy territory n stuff
Mermaid shapeshifter Izuna terrorizes the shinobi world,, Sasuke doesn't know what he just unleashed.
Ok actually but like. Suigetsu's shape-shifting but bc Izuna has a fire chalra nature, make it liquid fire shape-shifting. Fuckin, fire mermaid Izuna. He has an awful time retaining his form and actually for the first chunk of time, him being in that tube is genuinley just for the best. He keeps turning into liquid fire with no real solid body and can't put himself back together for hours.
Izuna hears his brother is still alive and running Akatsuki and is so down to clown till he realizes THATS NOT HIS FUCKING BROTHER HOW DARE YOU USE HIS NAME
Anyways oh my god Izuna on team Taka,,
He and Sasuke would be SUCH a dynamic actually, they look alike so much?? Sasuke doesn't recognize him but he's clearly a close relation, so there's some mystery there. Sasuke is like super shaken by finding a member of his clan and Izuna, by that point aware that apparently the rest of his clan is dead, is sticking to him like GLUE. Sasuke is bitchy little brother coded and Izuna understands this is probably karma bc he is also bitchy little brother coded
They probably clash a lot, especially bc both are expecting to be in charge here, but ultimately I think they'd get along better than Sasuke does most people, and there's also that bonus vulnerability of like. Izuna is an older Uchiha boy who's trying to brother him (with a noticeably different brother-ing style to Itachi too) and Sasuke has been alone for so, so long.
Sasuke accidentally calls him nii-san then promptly has several break downs about it
Suigetsu and Izuna either get along ALARMINGLY well or they hate eachother. I think I wanna go with the first bc it sounds more fun. They couldn't talk to eachother in the tanks but they could still see eachother, so maybe they kind of developed some sort of code to communicate?
They are "cause problems on purpose" friends. They're also "wdym I can't kill him???" *looks of genuine confusion* buddies. They're giving Sasuke the biggest headache actually, someone stop them. If you leave them to "take care" of a problem, there will be carnage.
Also, like, Izuna literally has Suigetsu's DNA in him. That's a thing.
Mmm maybe some complex thoughts ab how Izuna has effectively become a bloodline thief against his will (the ULTIMATE taboo for shinobi from his era) and he's like, actually fucked up about it.
Running joke where they refer to each other as cousins, could be funny. They argue over who's the bastard child (it's Izuna obviously but he won't just take that title lying down)
Izuna is like, in his 20s, and Karin is around 16 or 17 at this time I think?? She definatley has a bit of a crush on him (which helps take the edge off Sasuke) but like, he's not acknowledging that beyond patting her on the head. She'll get over it eventually. (Sasuke hides behind Izuna when Karin is trying to flirt w him and Izuna absoloutley laughs at them both)
Izuna is actually really impressed w Karin's sensing abilities specifically. I think he'd be a bit on edge around her at first, bc Uzumaki -> Senju ally. But he'd quickly assume she's a deserter (he has no idea the Uzumaki are pretty much wiped out rip) and becomes cautiously chill after a minute or two (also when he first escapes, he REALLY doesn't have the luxury to pick and choose his allies. He's instantly attached to Sasuke and cautiously fond of Suigetsu, and Karin seems to have Sasuke's trust at least, so he'll keep an eye on it but otherwise trust Sasuke's judgment)
Izuna and Karin besties arc where they paint eachothers nails is a must. I love the take that Izuna is really into fashion n stuff and he and Karin should like, trade hair tips or smthn. Karin knows modern soap brands where as Izuna bought his soaps from clan vendors who no longer fucking exist, so like, it's definatley helpful.
Karin is the only one of them to have any real hint of where tf Izuna came from (tho even she doesn't have the full details) it'd be cool if she was the one to figure out more details ab his general mystery— maybe something about her chakra sensing gives her a hint as to how old he really is?? Or she finds the paper trail that hints towards the bodies being mixed up???? Idk but she deserves to have an "aha!" moment
Also Izuna's medical knowledge/standards are NOT up to modern and Karin is so mad about it, she's giving him hella lessons on first aid n shit and he's very, very interested in all this free medical knowledge
I know the least about Jugo so bear with me on this one pls— I think Izuna would find Jugo to be pretty fascinating as a person actually. He enjoys tentatively poking him with sticks, and comes to genuinley like him as a person (when he's calm) pretty quickly
Also cats love Izuna so he gets bonus points from Jugo bc of that, they can bond while petting Izuna's contracted cats or smthn idk
Yeah I really don't know much ab Jugo so that's all I have to offer sorry
Ok let's backtrack a bit, back to Orochimaru ->
Fun scene towards the very start of the fic, where Izuna still has no fucking clue what's going on, but recognizes Orochimaru as a member of the Orochi clan. He says as much, and Orochimaru has to pause.
No one's mentioned his clan to him in years. They haven't been relevant in Konoha since Orochimaru was born— even before that, they were barley relevant. Izuna should not know who they are.
(The only reason he does know is bc they had a neutral to positive relationship w the Uchiha back in the warring era, and Izuna had visited them once before)
Immediatley, Orochimaru is squinting at this guy. He's giving Danzo a ring asking who exactly he got sent over, but Danzo doesn't actually have anything to offer him??? The paperwork is a mess and there were a LOT of Uchiha. He's not registered as a shinobi tho.
Hmmmm.... ok.
Orochimaru is suddenly aware there's some kind of mystery here now, which is dangerous for Izuna. Izuna is, again, in enemy territory, and he's able to pick up on the fact that Orochimaru doesn't actually know who he is. This ofc means that HE sure as hell won't be telling him.
Maybe he bares his teeth and sarcastically says he's the second coming of Uchiha Madara (not even that big of a lie when u think ab it)
Pivoting time ->
Izuna is listed in the data books as like, being equally as talented as Madara and I think we should talk ab that more actually
I love Tobirama but he really did get him by surprise
Izuna just got cocky and taken by surprise!!
HE DIDNT EVEN GET COCKY HE JUST LOGICALLY DIDNT EXPECT TOBIRAMA TO FUCKING INVENT TELEPORTATION
Then he went down in the history books both in canon and out of it as the weakest of the 4, that's so tragic
Izuna gets mermaid edo tenseid and (once people know who he is) everyone is like "Ok well at least he's uhh. The weakest of the 4 right?? I mean tobirama killed him when they were like only 19/20 so we'll probably be fine???"
Then he just fucking bodies them all bc hes a nightmare actually AND on whatever special test trial edo tensei steroids they gave him
Izuna is fueled on rage and spite and he's full up on both
Imagine he gets the full story of everything that happened while he was dead too, like.
Ok so Madara goes against his EXPRESS dying wishes and makes his village. (what the fuck!!) Then backs out (yay!!) but in an awful way that effectively fucks over the entire clan for years to come (nii-san what the FUCK)
Then gets literally backstabbed by Hashirama (HE FUCKING TOLD YOU!!! WHAT DID HE FUCKING SAY!!!!!)
Then the Uchiha seem to thrive and like. Ok. He's still mad about it, but at least something... kind of nice came out of it.
THEN BOTH THE VILLAGE AND MADARA'S(?????) SCHEMES KILL THEIR ENTIRE CLAN
Izuna is SO mad at literally everyone, holy shit. The only one safe from his rage is Hikaku, god rest his poor, poor soul
Actually, I think it'd be funny if Izuna was like, indescribably extra awful mad at everyone— but then is like. Normal mad amounts at Tobirama, who was a bitch but at least didn't seem to carry on a personal fucking vendetta against the Uchiha like EVERYONE ELSE INCLUDING FUCKING MADARA FOR SOME GODDAMN REASON
Izuna is going like, "FUCK you, FUCK you, OH, EXTRA FUCK YOU—" then squints at Tobirama and goes "...fuck you." Then goes back to screaming
To be clear, Tobirama absolutely contributed to the end of the Uchiha, but like. A) it'd be funny, and B) at least his seemed slightly less on purpose than literally everyone else
There's also I think a difference of like. Izuna never expected Tobirama to suddenly turn around and be pro Uchiha
Where as everyone else (again, including his brother!!) Was like. A genuine betrayal
Tobirama fucking over the clan was never a surprise
He never pretended to be on their side (like Hashirama lowkey did)
Tobirama vs Izuna but it's them getting to relive their rivalry where as Izuna vs literally anyone else is emotionally charged as hell and filled with demented screaming
Leaving it there for now, I might actually try to write this one but who tf knows

I’m literally cackling thinking about Shino’s reaction to everything that went down. He would have been praying for both Sasuke and Sakura’s downfall since day one, but this is a declaration of war.
Maybe Naruto and Sasuke somehow still had the kiss happen and Shino was just in the background buzzing like an angry eldritch god. Or he saw Sakura hit naruto one time and decided one day she would die vry painfully and be humiliated.
Shino has never liked the Haruno girl or the Uchiha.
Both of them have swatted at the stragglers in his hive more than once (the girl had actually screamed when she did it then called him a plethora of names that had Naruto vibrating with anger next to him) both of them were childish and arrogant at best seeing themselves as so much more than the rest of them regardless of the fact that the race for the top was far closer than either of them were willing to admit.
Worst of all, however is how they treated Naruto.
Most of the class was, if not friendly, then willing to ignore his friend for the most part. There was his odd not-friendship with Kiba that persisted through the years, and the fondness he had of both the Nara and Akimichi, but most of the rest of their class had taken one look at those fangs slick with venom and decided that polite distance was their best option.
Their loss, truthfully. There was never a more devoted friend than Naruto.
(Not that Shino was offering to share. He had been the one to see Naruto’s worth from the beginning.)
But Haruno and Uchiha had never been the same way.
He remembered Iruka-sensei watching him out of the corner of his eye the first time the girl had hit Naruto in annoyance, even as their teacher rushed forward to correct the behavior. The buzzing of the hive filled the classroom. So loud that Iruka-sensei had to raise his voice to be heard over them. Most of their classmates had edged away from him with wary eyes and disgusted expressions. Not Naruto who tucked himself under Shino’s arm and asked loudly with their teacher only feet away if Shino wanted to skip the rest of the day (Iruka-sensei didn’t even try to stop them.)
The less said about the Uchiha the better. It had taken all of Shino’s self control not to lungs at him when Naruto was knocked practically on top of him and their lips met only days after he realized he was head over heels in love with his best friend.
But this?
This?
Naruto sobbing into his chest, gasping out mangled explanations and apologies between each one. The horrible truth of what had happened on Team Seven’s first and only mission out of the safety of the village.
(That the two of them had nearly let Naruto die twice?)
His father met him at his bedroom window that night after he had claimed to go to sleep, hands tucked into his jacket and a single eyebrow raised high enough to be seen over his sunglasses.
“Go back inside, Shino.”
Shino’s hive buzzed loud enough that he almost didn’t hear the order. His fists clenched on the window sill so tightly the wood creaked.
“They hurt him,” Shino spat voice shaking, buzzing in his rage.
His father nodded. “And they are being punished. You can go help him if you are thrown in prison for killing your fellow Shinobi.”
“Technically they aren’t Shinobi anymore.” His father did not look impressed at the distinction.
Shino can’t breathe, poised halfway out his window with his father watching him and the horrors Naruto had confessed to him only Horus before. Can’t think of anything except.
“They hurt him,” He says again, weaker now. Defeated more than enraged.
His father comes closer, climbs up to meet him in the window and pulls him in to a side hug (the first hug Shino can remember from his father in a long time. Physical affection is not their clan’s way.)
“I know,” His father says.
Shino sags against him. Neither of them move until the first light of morning breaks over the horizon.

Naruto re-read XXVII
Chapters covered: 218 - 226 Twentyfifth Volume of the manga
Site used: https://manga4life.com/manga/Naruto (VIZ translation of the manga)
Disclaimer: This is intended as a list and simple observations of the topics that particularly interested me in the aforementioned chapters, in that sense, do not expect a linear -or totally deep- analysis.
Tumblr’s update doesn’t allow me to attach more than 10 pictures, therefore, all of them will be LINKED. Apologies.
319) “This time is you, huh?” (x). Sasuke’s question is linked directly to Sakura’s attempt to stop him, which Naruto associates with on his own; furthermore, the more he remembers Sakura’s distress the more upset he gets (x, x), as he remembers their most significant times together. Finally, he remembers Sasuke’s words regarding not wanting to let his precious comrades die (x), which solidifies Naruto’s idea that they all share an emotional bond between them, which Sasuke is willingly leaving behind (x).
320) “Chöji, Neji, Kiba, Shikamaru, and bushy brows… they risked their lives for you…” (x) This is, technically, incorrect, and I’ll allow myself to quote a phrase from a future post I’ll be posting shortly:
Once Sasuke leaves Konoha, he’s “followed” by Shikamaru and his newly formed squad (you can see an analysis about sexism here), and in chapter 202, we find this phrase uttered by the leader: “I should place more value on the lives of my teammates instead of the person abducted by the enemy (...) besides abandoning a teammate to protect yourself? There’s no one in my squad like that.” (x, x). However, Shikamaru is lying, both to himself and Tayuya. Sasuke wasn’t abducted, he left of his own volition (x). Shikamaru isn’t risking his life to save a kidnapped comrade, he’s risking his life so Orochimaru wouldn’t have the last Uchiha descendent by his side, which is proved by the way Tsunade references Sasuke’s deflection and Orochimaru’s “attempt to have the power of the Uchiha” (here); he’s protecting more Konoha’s possession of the last Sharingan user than Sasuke himself.
Sure, he does have a sense of duty in lieu of Sasuke being a comrade and it wouldn’t be weird for them to think that Sasuke was forced into accepting Orochimaru’s help as Tsunade is incapable of replying to Shikamaru’s question (she isn’t even sure of the answer as nor Kakashi or Jiraiya spoke to her about their suspicions); yet what interests us here is the weight that surrounds the use of the word “save” as it’s likely more for the children’s benefit to put them under a “savior” mindset in order to build their sense of duty and the imperative necessity of bringing Sasuke back; as it’s also likely that they gave sense to Sasuke’s escape by attributing it to kidnapping since they cannot conceive one of them deflecting. Here, the savior complex shifts, as we learn that it isn’t an individualistic ethos that it’s solely linked to Naruto’s character due to his background (it’s simply far more visible in his case), but it’s a learned mindset (un)consciously taught to ensure loyalty and obedience (“I’m not the bad guy, I’m saving you”; “this if for your own good!”; etc); it’s not really different to how real-life soldiers are told to perceive themselves.
321) “Does Konoha mean nothing to you?!” (x)
Peak perfection in the sense of the nationalistic mindset Naruto has been constructing during the whole first portion of the manga, here, Naruto’s sparkles of revolutionary interests are crushed –and I mean, they were never bright to begin with. He never questioned Konoha’s importance but rather Konoha’s structure when it presented challenges or preconceptions of his nature as Jinchuuriki that he needed to overcome or modify, as they did in Wave where he refused to become “just” a tool like Haku was (x), as a tool doesn’t need nor deserves recognition; which he craves. Here, the nationalistic mindset of Kakashi (which I’ll be posting soon I swear), gets reflected upon the student, as Naruto internalized the Will of Fire and exposes it (and rather clearly) here: He’s thinking of Sasuke abandoning him and Team 7, which is the primary fuel in his quest and hurt, he barely mentions the team that Shikamaru gathered (per Tsunade’s orders) to bring him back; these are individuals that put their life on the line to “rescue” him, yet Sasuke cares not. Naruto’s words are not a coincidence, he never states that they’re Sasuke’s friends (they aren’t, they never interacted in a significant way), the only thing they have in common is their village of origin and loyalty. For Naruto, that’s enough for a bond, for Sasuke, it isn’t.
Sasuke himself put no one in danger, as he fought nor hurt anyone, it was Tsunade who sent inexperienced gënin to search Sasuke in order not to give Orochimaru the “Uchiha’s power”, Sasuke deflecting put no one in any immediate danger as he was, at most, to be killed and possessed by Orochimaru (which, alright, can be argued his body might have been used to destroy Konoha later on –despite Orochimaru being quite capable of doing so prior to having Sasuke’s body as well, so him having or not Sasuke isn’t detrimental for possible retaliation from the Sannin) which, as he states, isn’t important (x).
322) Contrary to what people think of me, I do believe that this specific claim: “You think I’m just gonna let you go?!” which is the culmination of Naruto’s speech about how Orochimaru will grant him power in exchange for his life (x) is understandable as Naruto is both hurt by Sasuke abandoning them and scared for his friend’s life (Sasuke is even leaving despite being aware that he’ll be likely killed, which is quite worse as not only Naruto feels pain in lieu of his only friend escaping, but also him leaving to certain death). Naruto’s primary knowledge about Sasuke’s goal (killing Itachi) is that he’s willing to die for it (x) that, in regards to Naruto’s own goal, it’s unfathomable –as death is not one of the lengths Naruto is prepared to go through in order to get the acknowledgment he seeks. Furthermore, Sasuke’s death will automatically jeopardize his own objective, as Sasuke’s recognition is the one Naruto craves the most (here and here Naruto remembers Sasuke denying Naruto the equal status he wants, and Sasuke once again refuses: “Who cares what you want?”). Naruto, however, fails to understand Sasuke’s reasoning, and in doing so -at least by the end of this specific volume, he fails also to ask Sasuke if he can help him to achieve his goal (x), as he’s solely focusing on Sasuke’s current actions (leaving to go to Orochimaru) rather than Sasuke’s true ambition (becoming stronger to defeat Itachi).
323) I’ve spoken about Sasuke’s reasons for deflecting a little bit before, but here’s the gist of it: one and two. Not only do we get insight into how Sasuke considers Konoha’s shinobi to be weak, as Orochimaru (like Naruto states) killed their supposedly most powerful one, but also he found that he acknowledges that his strength dwelled as he formed bonds with those inside Team 7; and since once “accepting” Orochimaru’s seal (in the sense of exploiting its benefits as the Sound Four and not denying it as Anko did, since that seal was forced upon him) he became far stronger than before, being able to punch Naruto quite easily, his decisions get cemented (x).
Jiraiya stands there with a disappointed look, yet neither Kakashi nor he reprimands Naruto as Kakashi reprimanded Sasuke. Naruto’s desire is, first and foremost, to be recognized by Sasuke -which is the reason why he chases him; while Sasuke doesn’t allow himself to recognize Naruto, as in doing so he’ll acknowledge his (self-perceived) failure. What Kakashi doesn’t know -but we do, is that the core of Sasuke’s questioning doesn’t come just from Naruto’s growth, but rather the perception of him being left behind after becoming “too soft”. This is: he was just fine during the first stages of Team 7, excelling in every field, but after his sacrifice to save Naruto back in Wave Arc -and his growing feelings towards his comrades, he started “halting” in his growth, which is why he believes that Itachi’s dogma is correct.
Source
“My dream isn’t in the future, my dream is rooted only in the past.” (x) –and since his dream has nothing to do with his future, he doesn’t care what happens to him after his goal is reached. Since Naruto’s whole dreams rely on him becoming Hokage (future), he can’t die. Here, we have the same dichotomy once again: Future bonds vs. Past bonds – Naruto vs. Sasuke.
Chapter 220 is called “Brothers”, a total of five entire chapters are dedicated to Sasuke and Itachi’s bond and their respective relationships with their father –this holds immense weight in the narrative as it’s made to throw light on which bonds and past Sasuke is choosing above Team 7.
324) Precious small baby (x)
325) “Our ancestors organized and founded the police force.” (x). Either Itachi is lying, or they taught a different story from what actually happened, as it’s canonically mentioned that it was Tobirama who founded the police force and gave it to the Uchiha clan. Furthermore, Sasuke’s first dream was to join the Police Force and be like his father (x) –I personally detest the fandom that paints Fugaku as abusive and evil towards Sasuke as if Sasuke didn’t love him and wanted to get his praise, he loved Itachi, he also admired him, yes; but Sasuke wanted to be like Fugaku, he wanted his father’s recognition (x, x).
I understand why Fugaku not attending Sasuke’s Entrance Ceremony to the Academy is seen as cruel (I mean, to me is far crueler to send twelve-year-olds into war-like scenarios, but who am I to judge?), yet Fugaku isn’t only Sasuke’s father, but also the clan’s leader (x), and since the clan decided the coup already, he had to move in concordance with the people’s wish. Furthermore, if the coup is envisioned enough to put Itachi inside ANBU, then why would Fugaku care for Konoha’s bureaucratic structure (the Academy included) if he deemed all of it to be constructed under a mindset he considered oppressive? (even Mikoto spell this for you lot)
Sasuke is constantly compared to his brother (x), who is deemed a gifted child (x). So much so, that he trains all day until night (x) –he’s naturally gifted, I won’t lie, but he trained hard to achieve praise.
326) Shisui was the best at teleportation (x).
327) It’s hilarious how Itachi accuses the Uchiha of being narcissistic and arrogant when they cling to their clan instead of their nation (and this is a direct continuation of his speech to Sasuke when he said that the strongest are isolated and become arrogant), yet he’s performing the exact same thing, as he too is narcissistic (as he thinks he’s not only physically superior but also smarter as he was able to “free himself from the clan’s chains”) and arrogant, he states that the clan “fears what they don’t understand” as if the bureaucratic system for which they’re considering uprising is not making it apparent their distrust and distaste for Uchiha since the village’s foundation.
And while this might be an act in order to sell the idea that he became “power hungry” for Sasuke later on (x), it’s never canonically mentioned as such –furthermore, this could’ve been taken as an admission of betrayal (x) while at the same time, is pure idiocy: “Obsessing over wordless things like a clan (…) you can’t achieve real change as long as you’re bound by regulations and restrictions”, he claims, yet he’s bound to Konoha’s regulations and restrictions. If this is Itachi trying to be “smarter” than his peers, then he failed miserably, furthermore, is beyond stupid as he’s contradicting the dogma he actually upholds; one can easily use this same argument to defend their clan rather than Konoha for, as we saw previously (point 321), the only connection Sasuke has with most members of Shikamaru’s squad is that all of them are from Konoha, so why this bunch matters and why Uchiha’s do not?
WoF relies on the notion that their soldiers are expected to die for someone or something they don’t know or don’t especially care for under the premise that they were born and/or inhabit the same geographical space, yet that same mindset (albeit with minor tweaks) when used by a clan is frowned upon (CoH) –as dying in lieu of those born inside the confinements of your family or in lieu of obtaining something that’ll benefit your clan isn’t viewed as positively, somehow.
What are the parameters to establish one is inherently good and the other one inherently bad? Uchiha detractors keep saying that Uchiha were jeopardizing Konoha’s stability and threatening “innocent lives” yet I can’t imagine something that will put it in such a grand-scale problem as their most powerful clan vanishing from one day to the next, innocent children amongst them. Furthermore, those same people that were killed were the ones that controlled and “monopolized” the Police Force, so not only Konoha had to deal with potential invaders that might consider not having to fight the Sharingan enticing enough to strike (yet somehow didn’t, hilarious, the threat of invasion is always present yet never materializes), but also internal struggles, as there still are, apparently, shinobi that commit crimes (which Itachi claims were so important they put an entire clan to survey them yet the moment Uchiha disappear so does vandalism who would have thought?).
“Those inconsistencies are Kishimoto’s fault!”
No. They’re not, I’m not as good to explain so I shall use @persephone-falling-into-darkness's post in order to convey why the issue isn’t as much Kishimoto’s writing but rather the system on which it is based:
WoF entails bearing hardship through cooperation, right to the bloody end, and quite idiosyncratically for the sake of the village at that. As Hashirama lightly puts it, shinobi are just people who endure to reach an end goal.
This new dogma is based on fascist gnosis and is meant to be syncretistic by definition. In this sense, "Syncretism" isn't to be interpreted as the mere combination of different forms of beliefs or practices; such a combination must tolerate contradictions.
Every Konoha shinobi blessed with the Will of Fire must love, believe, treasure, obey and battle to safeguard the village, as prior generations had done before them. The entire village must be perceived as one, like an extended family that transcends blood and clan…
All these catchphrasey axioms do contain a germ of wisdom, but when they clash with the other facets that permeate Konoha's ideology, producing oxymoronicity, it's only because they all allude, allegorically, to some primitive truth.
It doesn't matter that Leaf's horrific expansionist endeavours sacrifice countless children in the process, despite Tobirama's fervent emphasis on how striplings must be adamantly protected as they're destined to be the successors of WoF, because fascism incorporates incongruous and conflicting edicts by definition!
As a consequence, there can be no advancement nor development in the village's testament. The truth has already been announced once and for all, and shinobi can only continue to interpret its obscure message: with an impoverished vocabulary and limited instruments for complex and critical reasoning, shinobi can never challenge the status quo. There is only one acceptable language, and it's rooted in reverence of the village.
(Source)
328) In every chapter around Sasuke’s bonds with his family (Itachi, Fugaku, and the clan) there’s a Crescent Moon (symbol of Indra - the Uchiha) x, x, x. Itachi (embracing WoF) killed his clan during a full moon (symbol of Ashura and the Will of Fire) -@fucktobirama made a post about it, I link it here.
329) Didn’t that Itachi Shinden, that awfully written thing say that Fugaku had the Mangekyou? Well, he doesn’t, here.
330) This motherfucker showed a child the death of hundreds (their parents amongst them) and people still use him as a moral parameter, you’re all insane. (x)
Fuck him (x)
331) Can you imagine what would’ve happened if Sasuke actually followed through with this? Even if that child wasn’t, you know, the nine tails jinchuuriki, Sasuke would’ve committed treason still. Why would he say this? Why wouldn’t he challenge Sasuke and go? Why did he have to add this stupid phrase if it put Sasuke in a similar type of danger to the one he was “trying” to get him away from? If he wanted Sasuke to obtain the MS… why did he lie? He knew he didn’t obtain the MS as he claimed he did, so why would he freaking do that? And I mean, Sasuke just saw you massacre his clan, your point about being “bad” and going “crazy” got across just fine already, you don’t have to lie to your brother thinking that he might do the opposite because there’s a fifty-fifty chance he’ll do as you say you stupid fuck! (x, x)
332) Sasuke had to wash his parent’s blood from the floor (x).
333) “In the Nanako shrine’s main hall… under the seventh Tatami mat from the far right, there’s a clan meeting place. There’s a reason why Uchiha have ocular jutsu… the truth is written there.” (x) Itachi is referring to the stone found by Madara (and manipulated by Zetsu, who changed its original meaning).
334) Children, that are shown to have no specific clan, know about the massacre and Sasuke being the only survivor (x); which means that Team 7 in itself (perhaps not Naruto, as he has no way to learn this information unless he hears it from someone else on accident) know about Sasuke being an orphan.

AJANKAJAMAOAK TYSM!!! RAHHHH
Also yes PLEASE i love ur art style smmmm if you drew Isuzu id literally pass out. I've always wanted to include more disabled characters in the Naruto verse, esp after becoming disabled myself. I wanted to write about the sudden loss of autonomy and having to learn to cope and overcome It. That feels like something that would happen quite often in a world with constant war and fighting. Yet all we see is vaguely scarred background characters!! (Altho I get that redrawing scars or small details over and over again on main characters is very tiring and difficult to animate, even kakashis scar is consistently covered up) ALSO SHUD MENTION THAT AT HER STUMPS THERES JUST A LOT OF BURN SCARS BC THERE WAS A LOT OF FIRE!!!
BUT BLEGH I WANT ISUZU TO BE A STAPLE IN SASUKES CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OF BEING LIKE "Oh. This is what being apart of a ninja clan is like. She's not even in service, yet she was mutilated." AND THIS TEACHES HIM THAT ACC BEING A NINJA ISN'T SUPER COOL AND FUN AND STUFF LIKE DEFENSE, POSION AND GENJUTSU IS VITAL TO KEEPING URSELF SAFE.
Also... on the religious aspect... the Uchiha clan have Three gods in my silly little worldbuilding.
Amaterasu: Creator of all that is good and mother to us all,
Tsukoyomi: Beauty of the moon and gifter of illusion,
Susano: Fighter of steel and spirit of the lakes,
(THE COMMAS ARE THERE INTENTIONALLY ITS MEANT TO SYMBOLISE THAT THERE IS MUCH MUCH MORE TO THEM THAN JUST A SENTANCE, IT NEVER ENDS THEY ARE ETERNAL) (Also don't mind that I'm totally stealing the Amaterasu lore from Okami <3)
They aren't technically God's as we know, but the God's I made in the Naruto verse aren't these omnipotent beings, they're people who gained a sort of 'Godhood'. Most of them originated from the Otsutsuki time. (IDC ABT THE CANON HERE IN MY FIC THERES ONE BIG OTSUTSUKI CLAN AND THATS WHERE ALL THE GODS COME FROM) And yess!! Each clan worship their own gods and they are all very real!!!
The civilians usually worship the Yokai insteada the God's, Since most of not all Ninja clans were created by those God's. Nowadays since all the Biju are all sealed up most of the Yokai have faded out, and along with it has the faith of the population. The Uchiha are one of the only clans in the village that actually have a shrine for the Ninetails. Along w/ the Nara and the Akamichi, who both worship (or more accurately, fearfully respect) all nine Biju. The Hyūga worship the sixtails- Saiken. I'll probably talk abt that in a different post though!!!
Aaa anyway each Uchiha God gifted/created the main styles that the Uchiha use to Fight. Amaterasu with her connection to Nature, fire and the dead. Tsukoyomi with her beauty and ability to trick and fool with genjutsu. Susano who created the Uchiha's weapons and Unique way of smithing, his music and his ninjutsu.
Jwjsjsj anyway there's no obligation to worship any one God, its moreso what areas of jutsu or weaponry you want to use. It's seen as a sort of good luck charm kinda.
Ehajsj there's so much worldbuilding in this fic I've barely even got the plot down 💔💔
ITS BUBBA!! I DIDNT WANT TO SEND A MESSAGS BUT!!! Heh…do u have more OC refs?? Id love to draw them again (if that’s okay) if not do you have a character/s i could draw for ya?!? Or really js anything!
p.s. here are some vale drawings that’re too unfinished. Thank you for ur support and interest in her!! I hope im able to return the favour one day! <333

BUBBA BUBBA HI HI HI HI HI HI HIIIII!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the late response but u have no idea what a bitch it was to find and pull all of this crap together!!
I don't actually too often draw my Ocs, I actually write about them more and sneak them into fanfics that'll never see the light of day. But I have a few diagrams I made so I could picture them in my head when writing them! They're normally not rlly completed (that's why the drawings of Chinatsu and Kikuko were so lackluster,,, and there was no way I was gonna show Yuko that girl looked like she was mauled by a raccoon) and all my Ocs revolve in some way around Sasuke bc the brainrot is strong with this one.
My main Ocs are all meant to be mentors to Sasuke. I made them all canon compliant, so they all die in the og story but in the plot of the main fic I'm plotting like only the elders and police force were murdered (everyone say thank you Sakura!) So Sasuke still has the opportunity to learn about his clan and their techniques. This is also a thinly veiled excuse to create lore for the Uchiha (for Sasuke)
Once again excuse the lackluster art I swear im better than this!!
This is Kotone!! (IK IT SAYS NATSU IN THE LEFT ONE BUT ILL GET BACK TO THAT IN A MOMENTTT) She's my victim I use to practice pixel art! She's seen the absolute worst sides of me (My Danagonranpa and Mha phase...) omg her design has changed SO MUCH over the years its not even funny. Her name used to be Asuna, then it was Suna, then it was Yuri and then we arive to now. It may as well just be four different characters cause the designs aren't remotely related but eh.
Shes the receptionist at the Uchiha police force and she got her skull absolutely crashed in!!! Horrible concussion- actually ruined her. She cannot handle more than two people talking or she'll disassociate, which was actually an issue she had before but the trauma of watching her friends die and then getting trapped under rubble for 6 days straight with no food,,, uh it fucked with her a little ill be real w/ u.
Despite being a bit ditsy now shes actually very intelligent. She teaches Sasuke how to Integrate Genjutsu training into everyday life (the little Genjutsu creatures she made are what kept her entertained and remotely sane under the rubble) she always casts these little spirals around her, it annoys most people in the clan but Sasuke thinks its fun (and Kotone loves him for it) they also help her manipulate people since they're very very vaguely hypnotic.
She also plays the Flute. But she's not the one who teaches Sasuke about that!!!!
ABOUT THE NATSU THING!!!
THATS ACTUALLY TECHNICALLY HER PREVIOUS INCARNATION, AND MADARAS OLDER SISTER (OK ik that in canon Madara and Izuna only have brothers but leaves me alone i don't care!!! I swear this is like the only thing I changed from canon.)
SO THE REASON THE OUTFITS LOOK DIFFERENT IN THE TWO ARTS IS BC. THEYRE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. Anyways Natsu died saving Izuna from getting kidnapped. Thats how he got his sharingan 👍 (I SWEAR ILL TALK ABOUT THE REINCARNATION IN A MOMENTTT)
Here are her old designs and oh my god this was so annoying to find and it turned out to just be embarrassing so jsbsns here it is 😔

The ginger one was her first version, Asuna. And the one with buns is Suna, she came with me thru my danagonranpa phase. Which tbh wasn't actually a phase i just moved her over to danagonranpa to be friends with my friends oc. Shes was the ultimate florist. Her eyes are actually green but she thought green was an ugly colour and injected her eyes with ink. And somehow. She's not blind?
Also!!! Kotones eyes are still green. Her father is only half Uchiha and she got her green eyes from her grandmother. But she's embarrassed about it so she hides it behind her hair.
Heres her with her accessories, and hair I guess, off.
AND THEN THERES RIHITO!!! She's a much more recent Oc!

(Blegh you can tell how much I rushed both of theseee)
Shes the head priest, her main place of worship is Susano's shrine, but she also actively prays at Tsukoyomi's and The nine-tails shrine (just to make sure when he inevitably breaks out of the 5-year-old he'll have just a little mercy on them!)
Alsoo it says she communes with the dead in her chart there, not dead humans, dead Uchiha (thanks to her) are reincarnated into different body's, so she wouldnt really be able to meet them. And if she did then she'd perform a ritual on the spirit to allow it to pass on to a new body. She just likes to hang with the dead rats and birds sometimes.
She teaches Sasuke about the clans culture and God's, she also gets him interested in blacksmithing and poisons. Exclusively because her knife is very pretty and also very dangerous.
THAT REMINDS ME!!! Not pictured but the shirt-dress she's wearing has built in gloves. Not a germaphobe but in her line of work touching anything with her skin is usually very very disrespectful or very very unsafe.
Shes also got dogteeth and plays the harp expertly. These facts don't affect the story whatsoever.
Theres a third character, Isuzu, she teaches Sasuke how to play the Ocarina. But uhh... she hasnt got a design yet. She has black hair. Uh. She mainly plays the flute. She doesn't have legs. Or well, she has one thigh. Sne lost one and a half legs in the massacre. It was her fault, really. She was trying to protect her sickly and dying father from being murdered. Pftt what a loser! I know she has that typical high collar Uchiha shirt. But uh I don't know about the rest of her outfit. But I think it would be cool if she had earrings that were vials with poison in them.
Yeah, I dont know much about her yet. I haven't gotten to writing that part of the story yet... if anyone wants to help with her design I welcome you.
AND NOW WE MOVE ONTO KIKUKO!!!! Our perfect little lady. She's a nurse and is decently main to the plot,,,

This was just a very speedy drawing I did cos I wanted to redesign her outfit.
Anyway she teaches Sasuke that actually healing people is very cool and actually epic. Which Sakura backs up, but based on past experiences Sakura is not. Trustworthy. So he needs family to confirm what she says.
There's not actually too much to Kikuko bc her whole character isn't centered around her clans culture, and she actually fights against Fugaku in favour of Konoha (She only does that bc she's co-dependant w her gf and doesnt want to leave her but shhhh)
Uh she's actually pretty far removed from her clans culture (Thanks a lot for that Chinatsu,,,) but she's still very religious. Her main God she prays to is Amaterasu.
(NOT RELATED BUT MIKOTO PRAYS TO SUSANO AND FUGAKU TO TSUKOYOMI)
Im sure there are more details I'm missing but I'm not about to read through the whole plot of Take 2 just to find some more Uchiha lore I've already accidentally taken a nap while writing this. But JANSJSJAKAN I hope this is what you were looking for!!!!! I was originally a bit anxious about dropping these guys out to the public but it was actually such a joy to share them ty ajsnsjakka
#ALSO IF U WANNA KNOW ABOUT IT U CAN TOTALLY DM ME#I REALLY NEED AN OUTSIDE OPINION ON IT </3#IVE GOT A FEW CHAPTERS WRITTEN OUT JUST FOR LIKE#MAPPING IT OUT#BUT NONE OF THEM ARE ACC FINISHED#For friendship dynamics Kotone would definitely be the closest to Vale pre trauma#But afterwords she prefers to be alone#Or around younger children- she doesn't like people who acknowledge or know about the troubles of the world#Part from that Rihito is the most invested in tge history of the Otsusuki and all#So her and Vale would def be close#And also Kokona would really admire her (ILL TALK ABOUT HER LATER I MADE HER ON IMPULSE SHES NOT CLOSE TO DONE)#(SHES ALSO LIKE- TEN)#THE FIC HAS CHANGED A WHOLE LOT FROM ITS ORIGINAL STATE#IT WAS ACC JUST A SASUSAKU ONE SHOT#LMAOOO THATS NO WHERE NEAR WHAT IT IS NOW#Ughh here I go again#Tagging...#Uchiha#sasuke uchiha#moldy-flowers#naruto oc#Oc#worldbuilding#uchiha family#Naruto#naruto fanfiction#I guess?????#naruto worldbuilding#UGHWHSH#That's it I'm done 👍

More fic for KHR!
Still mostly on ffn
Odd-Job Tsuna by ShamelessDilettante
Tsuna decides he doesn't want to rely on his absent father's money. So he gets a job. Or two. Or twelve. The 10th Gen gets together early. And there's no way he's leaving Namimori. It will fall apart if I leave, Reborn!
Little Prince by Scheming Rabbit
Iemitsu should have had a closer look at Nana's background before he married her. Nana's father decides its time to teach Tsuna the Family Business. When Reborn comes, he's got to get Tsuna out of his grandfather's reach to make him a Mafia boss. And did I mention they're royalty?
The Epic Rivalry of Sasagawa Kyoko and Sawada Tsunayoshi by Dandelion-san
Tsuna and Kyoko are really, really good at cooking. But who's the best? Unfortunately, Ryohei and Hibari-sempai were terrorized during the Rivalry.
The Senju Brothers by Tsume Yuki
Naruto/KHR If Tsunade had known the kind of chaos her sons were unleash upon the world... well, she still would have had them. The Arcobalenco and 10th Gen are reborn into Naruto. Drabbles, discontinued
Game On! By nordiamus
The first in the series. HP/KHR for the first, FMA, YYH, 1/2 Prince, Inuyasha, Naruto and Percy Jackson for the rest. After FemHP dies, she learns the price her mother paid to save her, that Halloween night. Desperate, she accepts a deal with the gods. Guide and prepare the new Hero to his destiny. Chaos wants to make things fun and turns life into a video game for her. So, so great. Amazing series, fleshed out, lots of characters follow femHP through the series. FemHP/Reborn
Uchiha Kyōya by Tsume Yuki
Naruto/KHR Fugaku wished they'd stopped at the first son. There's nothing wrong with the youngest, it's just... the middle one. Drabbles, technically discontinued but it's good as it is.
Vigilante Tendency by Kyogre
Tsuna tries to follow his dad's advice. It does not go according to plan. At least he has friends now. If only they weren't so inclined to fight crime. Oneshot, super good.
The Varia Next Door by Renegade Warrior
After the Cradle Affair, Xanxus is shipped off to Namimori instead of frozen solid. Xanxus hates it, he can't feel his Flames, his Elements are still in Italy. And why is this brat so difficult to scare off? And why does it feel better when he's around Tsuna? Tsuna is 5 years old when the King moves in next door. What a nice man! Funny povs from the Varia workers in the mansion.
Soldier Series by Tempestes D. Uzu
HP/KHR Harry is Skull! Discontinued but really good completed fics. Shows the povs of the other Arcobalenco to the truth about Skull.
A Murder of Crows by Cyanide Lemons
Reborn is touching down in Namimori just as Sawada Tsunayoshi leaves it. Reborn had to hunt the world for his wayward student, promising death to Iemitsu all the while. So great. I love everything Reborn is put to.
The Bloody Boys by Luki Fanfic
Dark AU! Nana's family are a bunch of serial killers. When Iemitsu allows the Seal on Tsuna, rejecting him from the Vongola, Nana decides to teach him her own family traditions. The 10th Gen in this are all killers. Also, Nana does what we all wish to do.
Aeolian by Tsume Yuki
When Kyoya and Tsuna are kidnapped, Tsuna will have to shed her herbivorous skin and become a carnivore if she wants to survive. Kyoya/Tsuna
Scarily Attractive by Hweianime
Tsunas twin Giotto becomes Decimo and Tsuna is in Germany since scary people are drawn to him all over in Namimori. Tsuna/Xanxus
My Heavenly Judgement by colbub
Complete! 100/10 Downloaded to read whenever. OC Alice has to complete a task to enter Heaven after she dies. She must help Tsuna become Decimo. So amazingly good! I laughed, I cried, I shipped. BTW, endgame Kyoya/Alice slow burn. Super slow burn.. Alice is "born" into the Brighteye Family who, just like her, have to complete a task to go to Heaven in the KHR world. So many tear jerker moments. So many Soft (minorly Angsty) Feels. Wonderful looks into the family Alice left behind, the people working with Alice now and the Angel who set her her task. I can't recommend it enough.
I Hold With Those Who Favor Fire by infaredphaeton
Naruto/KHR Oneshot When Gokudera died, he didn't expect to wake up again. Definitely not with pink hair! Gokudera is Sakura
You Plus Me Plus Kids by Seito
Tsuna/Reborn are gods and they somewhat accidentally end up adopting the kid versions of the arcobalenco and more.
Mutual Hatred by exocara
Tsuna forms a vigilante group to oust the Yakuza from his town before Reborn ever comes near Namimori.
Game of Life by exocara
Tsuna wakes up and his life is suddenly a video game. Complete. Humor
Xanxus' Adventures in Parenthood Piracy by InsaneScriptist
OP/KHR Not my usual thing, since I'm really not a fan of OP but IS did so well and it's mostly just using the OP world as a backdrop. When Portgas D. Rogue finds a man who mysteriously (i.e. standed in an alternate dimension by scientists and had to swim a lot and then climbed a cliff) appeared on the island where she lived, she decided to take him home. Then she names him godfather to her unborn child. Amazing worldbuilding with Flames in this. Xanxus using his Sky Flames to build personas for himself(splitting his Flames into their components and assigning a different alias to each Flame type) to build himself a lifeline until those scientists get him back. My favorite is when he meets who he describes as an unholy combination of Squalo and Mammon as a girl, who eventually brings him home to meet her sisters who also remind him of a genderbent combo of people he knows in KHR. (All he does is hire the girls for the company makes)
Of Dreams and Hope by skyhgem
Tsuna wakes from a week long coma and finds out the last four years of his life (manga) went real. In Italy and even his hometown, 7 others wake from a coma and try to piece their lives together.
Momento Mori by exocara
When Tsuna is 13, he is visited by Checkerface and is told he can save the world by dying on his 15th birthday. Similar to the Tri-Ni-Sette, in this world, there's one more System that keeps it running. Tsuna has been chosen as rhe 10th sacrifice.
Conspiracy Theorist Tsuna by ariathal2410
Tsuna is ridulously accurate when it comes to his conspiracy theories. It's hard to keep a straight face in front of him.
The Lucky Rope by Breathless02
Giotto is jealous of his Gaurdians, of their children. He, himself, wants to be a father. One day, his life changes. 1st Gen raises 10th Gen

Ok I was trying to hold this rambling mess in until OoT passed a certain milestone, but I can’t. I also don’t know how spoilery this is because technically a lot of it is Naruto canon that Kishi just...didn’t connect together? I don’t know. This could be medium to big spoilers or could be me pacing around the house and screaming at myself in the mirror over choices and opportunities. You decide!
The more I think about the Curse Mark the more I want to scream. Like it’s obvious Kishi wasn’t building it up in the foundational lore of Naruto’s world, it just happened like that but...but it literally could be connected so easily??
It’s not until Shippuden and Sage Mode comes out that the Curse Mark is revealed to be a poor substitute and manufactured through Jugo’s clan and their ability to absorb natural chakra. But it’d make so much more sense if the Curse Mark (and Jugo) was instead connected to Hashirama and the mokuton, esp as Jugo’s clan is never really expanded upon. The mokuton can absorb chakra (that’s why Yamato watches over Naruto and why Hashirama was able to subdue the bijuu), Hashirama is a Sage and it’s never stated which, if any, animal clan he trained with. The mokuton is kekkei genkai only he was born with naturally and has never been able to be replicated at the same level. For god’s sake Hashirama’s Cells is a meme because the man was so fucking op and he had a hand in making almost everything late-Shippuden possible.
Now for the Curse Mark. Orochimaru already was experimenting with the Shodai’s cells to create the mokuton. Just push it a step further and have two “Hashirama” programs, one to recreate the mokuton, the other his instantaneous sage mode. Jugo could be a part of it, he could be a Senju or something completely else (admittedly Jugo’s background is getting completely redone in OoT, but this is just a suggestion for a less canon divergent au). That Sasuke is an Uchiha and he unlocks the second stage could have been hinting at how compatible the Uchiha/Senju chakra was and if done right could have foreshadowed the sun/moon thing way back in part 1/early Shippuden just like Madara’s name drops were. Orochimaru explaining the programs would have been a great way to tease a few facts about the Shodai (who we already knew from the Konoha Crush fight) and this new Madara guy.
That would have tied Orochimaru’s Curse Mark with characters/powers at the very end of Shippuden instead of being cut off and overshadowed by the mangekyou and then forgotten as well as shoring up Jugo’s backstory beyond Kimimaro.
Really I only made this post for 1 (one) reason and it’s this:
The Curse Mark’s second forms manifests as hands and fingers on Sasuke. Good ol, Senju “one thousand hands, one thousand skills” Hashirama.
#naruto#out of time#out of time spoilers#maybe#meta#sasuke uchiha#orochimaru#hashirama senju#god i gotta stop thinking so much about naruto#and i do want to say it's easy for me to say all of this with the benefit of hindsight something kishimoto didn't have#i just think it's ironic so many things seem like they *should* have been connected together and have some text with them but...aren't#headcanons
