You boarded the plane to Monaco, being sure to text Niall your plane information and to text Charles letting you know you were on the plane. Shortly after the flight attendant instructed everyone to turn off their phones. 

Before you turned off yours, you caught Charles’ text back,

You smiled at it before turning your phone off. You still couldn’t believe you and Charles were actually going on a date. Obviously when you first back at Silverstone, there was light flirting but you just had one of those personalities which you seemed to have in common with the driver.

He asked for your instagram and you happily gave it to him, following him back and then you parted ways. He once and awhile popped up in your likes but you didn’t think anything of it until you found out that he had also followed your brother and Amelia back when he followed you and then when he finally slid in your DMs, you knew this went beyond mindless flirting. 

You smiled at the thought of him and possibly something coming from this. With that you placed your headphones on your ears and decided to try and get some sleep before you landed and you’d be immersed into the busy life that was Monaco.

Possible New WAG Update: 

Lately theres been photos taken of Charles Leclerc and Y/N Horan that shows the two are definitely more than just friends. Neither have yet to confirm or deny the dating rumours starting to surface but if they are dating, we thought we’d make a post for Y/N for the fans that don’t know who she is already incase she is our newest WAG. 

Y/N Horan, younger sister to One Direction member, Niall Horan. Y/N is 24 years old. She attended the University of Galway for a Bachelor of Arts Undergrad, specifically in Digital Arts and Technology. Since graduating, she sometimes models and will do ads for high end brands. Judging from her social media, she enjoys traveling, attending her brothers concerts and spending time with her close circle of friends which include other 1D member, Harry Styles’ sister, Gemma Styles. From what we gathered she primarily resides in London but does frequently go home to Ireland to visit family. 

In regards to her and Charles, we don’t have much, other than the few photos taken of them recently. We're guessing they met when Y/N joined Niall in attending the Silverstone Grand Prix back in July which means the two technically have known each other for about a month. We’re not sure how much of that time have been as friends or more than friends. For now thats all we got but if we find out anymore we’ll be sure to keep the account updated.

It was time for you to get back to London, you had a photoshoot with Ralph Lauren coming up and Charles was planning on spending time with family before he had to get back to racing. 

The last few days had been amazing. You got to see so much and really got to know Charles. You could feel yourself falling for him, he made it so easy but you didn’t want to rush anything so you decided not to bring it up, wanting to enjoy your time together before you left. 

Currently the two of you were cuddled up in his bed, he had insisted you stay with him instead of getting a hotel which you ended up really enjoying. He was playing with your hair while you had your head on his chest 

“I had a really great time here” you told him lifting your head up and looking at him, as he stopped playing with your hair with your movement 

“I’m really glad you came and let me show you around” he smiled, you could see it in his eyes, he was being genuine. 

“Next time you’re free you need to let me show you around Ireland to return the favour” you suggested. He had shown you his home, you wanted to show him yours. 

“I’d love that. I’ve never been to Ireland before” he told you, his smile never leaving his face

“We should probably go to sleep, so I actually wake up in the morning for my flight” you suggested even though you would’ve rather stayed up and talked with Charles 

“I know” he agreed, the sadness lingering in his words, just like you he would’ve preferred to stay up and chat all night. 

The two of you, got situated in bed, you enjoyed getting to spoon, you’d switch between who was the big spoon and who was the little, which at first surprised you because you would’ve thought Charles always liked being the bigger spoon but there were times when he just wanted to be held which of course just added to why he made falling for him an easy task. 

Tonight you were the little spoon which you both enjoyed. You laid on your side, your back against Charles’ chest while his arm held you against him and his other arm stayed free so he could play with your hair. 

You fell asleep before he did and he just laid there watching you sleep peacefully. He hadn’t felt this comfortable around someone in awhile and he didn’t ever want to be apart from you. 

He was falling for you and unknowingly to him you were falling just as hard. This brought forth one question and that was; who was going to take the first step and be the one to tell the other about their blossoming feelings?

they hadn't talked in months, and suddenly he was calling her out of the blue at two in the morning?

thoughts ran through her mind at a hundred miles an hour, playing out every scenario of why he was possibly calling. she eventually decided that it was probably a drunk call to the ex, and there would be no harm in answering because he wouldn't remember it in the morning.

she clicked the answer button, holding her phone up to her ear, but not daring to speak.

"hello?" his voice was so familiar, it felt like home. she could imagine his face, his scent, his laugh. if she closed her eyes it was almost as if he was sitting in front of her, "yn are you there?"

she hummed, not wanting to voice anything and realise it is a dream.

"i'm not drunk. just to let you know." fuck. "i know how a two am phone call seems. i honestly didn't even think you'd answer the phone so i'm a bit unprepared."

she stayed silent, not knowing what to say. she sat there, half perched on her bed, replaying the ending of their relationship and willing herself not to go back to him. she couldn't. she had to stay strong.

"i thought you would be out clubbing or something, i don't know." charles rambled on, his voice so soothing, and if she wasn't currently in such an awkward position, she probably could of fallen asleep to it. "i know you probably hate me, and don't want anything to do with me, but i've been seeing that you're going out a lot recently, getting drunk and stuff."

"no." she cut him off, "you do not get to judge me for how i am coping with our relationship ending. it's your fault we're done."

"what?" charles exclaimed, "you're the one who ended it, you're the one who left."

"all you had to do was say 'don't go'." yn said softly.

"you can't seriously be blaming us ending on me?" charles was livid now, even though deep down he knew he could've stopped the break up.

"you can't seriously be blaming it on me." yn responded, a lot calmer than her counterpart.

"wow. i was calling to see if you wanted to get dinner with me, to see if you wanted to work things out between us, but not anymore." charles scoffed.

"whatever. in what world would i have even accepted that offer." they both knew that she would in this one.

"fine. goodbye, yn." charles waited to hear her voice once more before hanging up.

"goodbye, charlie. thanks for twisting the knife." and with that she hung up the phone, collapsing backwards onto her bed. she was going to need a strong drink now.

A/N: I’ve had this typed out for a while and I wanted to go do more Warren x Raccoon material, I just decided to actually go through it, it still probably sucks but I tried. I’m not a professional in any sense, anyways, enjoy :3

Summary: Warrens been acting strange.. (y/n) tries to find out what’s happening with him, wonder what it is?

Having only been going to her new school for 2 months, (y/n) has already met so many cool people. She even started her band called ‘Clean Trash’, ironically not with Warren on the drums.

The one replacing Warren on drums was a 5th grader named Ryan Husk, his muatation allows to move any liquid with his mind, their bassist being an 8th grader named Mars Palenski, his mutation gives him a giant rats tail and ears, pretty similar to (y/n)’s raccoon ears and tail.

Needless to say, (y/n) was getting along just fine, she was keeping up with her classes, nothing perfect but she didn’t care, just as long as she was passing.

Waking up one morning for breakfast, (y/n) nader her way to the kitchen for hopefully some marshmallow mateys, one she got there she saw Warren standing at the stove preparing food, both locking eyes when she walked in.

This reminded (y/n) of their first proper time meeting, although instead of giving Warren a death look, she smiled and wished him a good morning.

Warren doing the same, (y/n) was grabbing the cereal and milk, in the midst of preparing her breakfast.

“I can make you some french toast if you want” Warren offered

“Huh?.. oh.. yea ok” the still waking up very tired raccoon girl sitting down at the counter

Peter and Alex then walking in greeting both a good morning, then returning a good morning back.

Peter then smelling the french toast “Oh man! I love your french toast!” Peter getting excited

“Fuck off, I’m not making you anymore after what happened last time” Warren staring daggers at Peter while setting a plate in front of (y/n) and himself

“What happened last time?” (y/n) asked pouring syrup on her stack

“Well basically-“ Peter started then Alex shortly cutting him off “He finished all 24 pieces Warren spent almost an hour making, he didn’t even get a single bite”

“Dang” (y/n) responded while taking a bite “Hey, what do you expect from me? I was too hungry!”

“Some damn self control would be nice” Warren still staring daggers at Peter, both opting to eat the same marshmallow mateys (y/n) was planning on eating

After finishing (y/n) washed her dishes and offered to help Warren clean up but he insisted she go and get ready for classes, she took him up on it and go ready for the day, washed her face, brushed her teeth, hair, ears and tail.

(y/n) and Warren didn’t have any classes together, their schedules didn’t really cross paths a lot, even morning breakfasts like that were rare, (y/n) was content with their schedules not matching up all the time, she was happy with whatever time they did spend together if any at all.

(y/n) mostly ate lunch with Jubilee and if she wasn’t available for lunch then Mars and Ryan would eat with her.

It was after classes when Clean Trash would practice in the unused music room, that is if neither Ryan or Mars had homework.

She had a policy if either of them had homework before coming to practice they would have to finish it before they turn the amps on, or if they got in trouble they wouldn’t practice that day, they didn’t practice on the weekends though.

“You guys got any homework?” (y/n) asked her band mates, “No,” both answered truthfully

“Ok, let’s begin with ‘My heart is a futon’” (y/n) taking initiative

“How do you come up with these song names?” Mars asked

“I dunno, just whatever comes to mind, mind counting us off Ryan?” (y/n) pointing at Ryan, guitar pick in hand

“One, two, three, four, one two!”

Warren just so happened to be passing by the music room the band was in and overheard them playing.

Wanting to go unnoticed, he peeked in through the window watching and listening to them play, mostly focusing on (y/n) though.

Jean shortly caught him watching them and overheard what he was thinking

She has a really good singing voice, not to mention how her hair falls perfectly while playing..

“Wow,” Jean interrupting his thought “Never seen you this head over heels for someone, must be pretty special”

“Hey! I’m not ‘head over heels’, okay?“ Warren realizing she knows exactly what she’s talking about “They just sound really good is all”

“Right, just like what you thought on the ride to the movies” Jean flustering the already flustered angel boy even more “You think you’re ever going to tell her?”

“How do you- look, quit reading my thoughts okay? I don’t have anything to tell her” Warren becoming a little defensive “We’re just friends”

“Warren, you’re only friends for so long before she moves on” Jean trying to convince him

“Moves on? what’s that supposed to mean?” Warren asked confused

“You’re going to see what I mean, just waiting around doing nothing” Jean then walking off

Move on?... does she mean... no

Warren takes one more glance of (y/n) playing before walking off

In his room who he shared with Kurt, laying on his bed thinking to himself

Should I tell her?... Will someone else come along?...

Kurt and Alex bursting in throwing Warrens train of thought off, both seeing his worry almost immediately

Kurt, trying to be a good friend crouched down near Warren “You have immense sadness in your eyes friend, tell us what’s wrong?”

Warren, not wanting to talk about it, but not wanting to come off too mean, “Ok Blue, listen, I don’t want to talk about anything, especially with you” eventually just walking out in a huff

“... Think it was something I said?” Kurts ears flopped in a sad manner, Peter assuring him it was him “Ah jeez, he’s been like this since our horror movie trip plan fell through, must’ve really wanted to watch that movie..”

What would I ever say.. How would I even say it... when.. should I say... GAH! I hate this! I’m going to workout

Walking in the locker room , he ran into Scott already talking to friends.

His friends having already gotten ready before him, they went on ahead leaving Scott alone with Warren.

“Hey Warren! I haven’t talked to you since the horror movie fail, how’ve you been man?” Scott trying to spark a small conversation getting ready

“Yeah I’ve been fine” Warren already disconnecting from the world around him

“Yeah, you never told us how your trip to the music shop with (y/n) was” Scott joked

“It was fine” Warren replied coldly

“Fine enough you started acting less cranky all the time?”

“It was until you opened your mouth” Warren getting done before Scott and heading into the gym

In her room, (y/n) and Jubilee are planning the elementary classes Summer picnic, it was a special request by Charles.

“So that’s 25 turkey sandwiches for the kids with nut allergies.. and 45 pb & j’s.. in total thats.. 70 sandwiches, whoooff” (y/n) laying back in her bed just wanting to go to sleep even thought it was only 4:37pm

“Ok Scott called the ice cream parlor and they did have each classes flavor selections, but we do have to go pick them up ourselves the day of,” (y/n), Jubilee, Scott and Jean have all been tasked in helping plan this picnic for some time.

“Ok I guess that just leaves... actually making the sandwiches, sorting the sandwiches, and picking up everything else.. ugh, I don’t hate these kids but why do there have to be so many of them” (y/n) was super exhausted

“Doesn’t your reality manipulation allow you to multiply objects?”

“I don’t have it under control yet, so as of the moment.. no”

“Well not taking the easy way goes to show how much you care right? Besides, isn’t one of your band members attending this picnic? Ryan Dust, right?”

“Husk, and yes, he is coincidentally in the class I’ll be helping supervise”

“You see? wouldn’t it be just awesome for little Ryan to his bands leader working hard?”

“Ugh... I guess so”

“Well I gotta get going” Jubilee started packing her things, “I gotta meet with Jane and discuss seating arrangements, see if you can get any help with the sandwiches, maybe ask Warren?”

“Why Warren?” (y/n) confused why Jubilee specifically said Warren

“Why not Warren? Doesnt Ryan look up to Warren as a drummer? I’m sure it would make Ryan super motivated to see two people he looks up to working so hard”

“Yea ok but-“

“Hold that but. I gotta go, talk later”

With that over, for now, (y/n) started cleaning up the mess of papers on her bed and grabbed her phone to call Warren, voicemail.

Huh... guess he’s busy right now.. I’ll ask again later... but I might forget to ask later and he might over book his schedule, he really needs to stop doing that... Oh! I know! I’ll set a reminder on my phone! this phone has a reminder app doesn’t it?

Navigating her phone proved to be more difficult than she anticipated, considering she’s had her phone longer than a month, it was still her first phone, her brother got it for her before she left, she never really got around to learning how to use it.

Getting frustrated not finding what she needed using her phone, (y/n) opted to asking Warren in person

Running around the whole mansion looking for Warren and even asking people who knew him if they saw him around, no luck.

Until she ran into Kurt and Peter in the main hall, (y/n) immediately running up to them and asking both if the saw him anywhere.

“Uh, yeah last we saw him, he was heading to the gym, looked like he was going through it,” Peter answered, Kurt immediately agreeing, “Ja, He stormed off after I asked him what was wrong..”

What was wrong? Going through it? What’s happening with Warren?

Peter then reassuring Kurt it wasn’t his fault Warren was upset, “Dude, I told you, he’s been like this since that movie we went to go see sold out on movie tickets, like I said, he’s probably just pissed he didn’t get to see it”

“Been like what?” (y/n) now concerned

“Well it’s kinda difficult to explain but more happy in a way kinda, but also crank now that he’s more happy, y’know?”

(y/n) understood what he meant, “Yea.. well I’ll ask him about it once I find him, thank guys,” (y/n) then running off towards the gym, the two boys nodding and continuing on with their day.

(y/n) made it to the gym, not having really used it yet, she just ran in looking for Warren, she figured she’d look for his wings since they were easy to spot.

After a few minutes of looking, (y/n) eventually spotted Warren lifting weights on a bench in the back.

She was waving and shouting to him hoping he’d notice but he wasn’t paying attention and had his music in.

(y/n) decided she’d approach him and get his attention that way, upon approaching him she tapped his shoulder hoping it would get his attention, big mistake.

Tapping Warrens shoulder triggered his fight instincts and whipped around with full wing span, cutting (y/n) in the face.

She fell to the ground dazed holding her face, Warren immediately realizing what he’s done he immediately runs to her and gives her a towel to cover her cut with.

Scott noticing the commotion ran over to help Warren rush (y/n) to med.

Outside of med Warren was pacing back and forth while Scott was sitting on a bench, both waiting for Hank and (y/n).

Warren couldn’t stop pacing, Scott tried to relieve him,” Hey look, worst case scenario, she just has some light scarring..”

Warren immediately erupting, “No! Don’t you get it??! This whole thing means I haven’t changed a bit since Apocalypse!!,” Warren having remembered his nature when he aligned with Apocalypse over 2 years ago.

“Hey! Now don’t say that! You obviously didn’t mean to hurt her, you obviously aren’t the same from then“ Scott trying to assure Warren he isn’t the same from back then, “Look! even you and Kurt can live in the same room! Surely that means something”

“Yea, not like we ever talk,” Warren denying everything Scott was saying, Scott still trying to convince him otherwise, “Even Kurt considers you a friend now, he never saw you as a bad guy Warren, no one has, not even Charles”

Warren still not listening stormed off again, tears almost forming in his eyes, not too long after, Hank brought (y/n) with a clean bill of health apart from the bandage on her face, and a lollipop

“Nothing too bad, the bleeding stopped, it’s best to keep the bandage on to prevent bacteria from getting in,” Hank explained to Scott

“Thanks Mr. Hank, also for the lollipop” (y/n) gratefully thanked, then looking around for Warren “Where’d Warren go?”

“Oh, Warren... he needed to go... take care of something,” Scott nervously told (y/n) not wanting to worry her by telling her he stormed off because he’s afraid he’s the same as when he was with Apocalypse

“Oh... I just needed to talk to him about something..”

“About the sandwiches for the picnic right? Jubilee asked Peter if he could help, with Peter the sandwiches will be done in a second”

(y/n) shaking her head, “No, not that... I needed to ask him about.. something else”

Scott a little confused but realizing, “You’re not.. mad at Warren now are you?” Scott reluctantly asked (y/n)

(y/n) shaking her head again, “Of course not, I probably shouldn’t have snuck up on him like that, it’s just as much my fault I got this that it his,” (y/n) immediately placing the blame on herself for something that obviously wasn’t her fault or Warrens

Both Hank and Scott try to reassure it wasn’t either sides fault

“Well, I know he didn’t mean to hurt me, I just... I need to talk to him”

“Well.. it’s probably not the best time to... bother him, he’s got some .. things to take care of right now,” Scott trying to avoid even more problems between them

“Maybe, but he’s.. my friend, I need to know if he’s alright” (y/n) then speed walking off to go find Warren

“Ah jeez...” Scott sighed

“Think they’re... actually going to talk about... that?” Hank asked

“I dunno, I just hope they’re able to work things out”

Having run through the whole mansion looking for Warren once again, (y/n) was certain she knew where he was, but to no avail. On her way back to her room, she noticed the attic ceiling hatch and realized.

“Tch- could he...,” (y/n) began opening the hatch letting the ladder down then ascending up into the attic.

“Hello-“ (y/n) checking to see if anyone was up there, then there he was. Not wanting to alarm him again, she slowly arose from the hatch and go up slowly as to not to alarm him. Warren was just sitting on a window sill looking out, lost in thought

W: *Why did I do that... I told myself she.. I was going to...*

(y/n): *Ok, I can see he isn’t paying attention again... this time I’ll... I’ll call him softly as to not to trigger his attack again*

(y/n) reluctantly took a step closer, stepping on a creaky floorboard thus alerting Warren, Warren looked over and sat up immediately, panic in his eyes.

“(y/n)!” Warren stuttered

“Hi! uh.. I just wanted to check up on you ‘cus I heard from Peter and Kurt that-“ (y/n) trying to be friendly with Warren then cutting her off

“(y/n)! y-you shouldn’t be here, it’s not-“ Warren spat out nervously with (y/n) cutting him off in return

“Ok ok I know I know, you had some stuff to think about but, I just wanted to say I’m sorry I snuck up on you like that, I should have probably alerted you before approaching you, you just had your music in I didn’t know-“ Warren then cutting her off once again “Look. (y/n), I am truly sorry I cut your face but.. you shouldn’t be around me, I’m just-“

“What? Dangerous? just ‘cause you have metal wings? there are people in this world without metal wings who I’m scared of more than you”

“(y/n)-”

“I know you didn’t mean to hurt me like that I just.. at first I wanted to ask you about sandwiches but.. Peter and Kurt told me you’ve been ‘going through it’, their words not mine, and I just wanted to see exactly... what it is you’re going through..”

“(y/n), listen, you don’t understand, I’m the Archangel of Death! I don’t belong anywhere here, I just-“ Warren spewed out with (y/n) cutting him off again

“Warren! just shut up and listen to what I have to say!” she bursted out, continuing “I know you don’t mean any harm even whatever happened in the past, I’m not sure what all happened but that’s hopefully why I’m here, I just want to be there for someone who makes this place feel more like home even though we don’t meet up a lot”

“y/n), I-“

“Being here was scary but being here with you.. made it less scary, I don’t know if you feel the same way about me but.. I want. to be there for you when I can, Warren” (y/n) then taking a step closer knowing Warren can’t go anywhere

“Being around you.. I feel.. like maybe being here isn’t so bad, like maybe I can actually make something of myself here, like maybe.. you aren’t so bad..” (y/n) holding herself with tears welling up in her eyes

“I don’t know if you feel the same around me but.. that’s how I feel.. about you” (y/n) finally finishing

“(y/n)...” (y/n) holding for impact, entirely expecting him to reject her feeling, “I feel the same way about you,” Warren then taking a step closer

(y/n) almost gasped not believing what she heard

“Being around you.. brings me to a simpler time in my life and.. whenever we do meet up or bump into each other that feeling washes over me completely and.. I thought you hated my guts when we first met. You calling me angel boy, me calling you trash panda.. I never thought you’d want to talk to me ‘cus..” Warren expanding his wings and motion to them “I also wanted to be there for you when I could but.. I never saw you during the day, so I just..”

Both of them just stood there, looking into each other’s eye, then both taking another step closer to one another.

“Can I..” Warren started, looking deep into (y/n)’s yellow golden eyes, “Can I.. kiss.. you?”

(y/n) tears streaming down her face, just stood there looking up at Warren, not even answering him, she jumped up wrapping her arms around his neck just going for it. They kissed, Warren holding her close to him, (y/n) hasn’t felt so safe since she moved, Warrens wings around both of them. After what felt like forever only being 8 seconds, they separated kissing still holding each other.

“Well... ever kiss a raccoon face girl?” (y/n) joked

“He he, uh.. no but it was definitely a fine start”

Both chuckling before kissing again

Rosa pushed the elevator buttons forcefully and kicked scully to stop him from trying to open the closing doors. You were meeting her at work for the first time since youd startes dating and she was late. She was worried you were going to be uncomfortable, you were usually awkward with new people and got nervous before meeting them. Rosa had to assure you several times meeting her friends would be fine and now she was late. Rosa hurried out of the elevator and heard you laughing. Rosa expected jake or terry were probably being nice to you and making you laugh. Instead Rosa saw you sat at Gina's desk showing her something on your phone. Gina pounded on the desk laughing and said a joke Rosa didnt understand but you found it funny. "Hey y/n" rosa called "sorry im late, is everything okay?". You nodded "its fine Gina and i have been talking and we have so much in common!". "Yeah did you know y/n has an even better instagram page than me, i didnt think that was possible". Rosa shrugged "yeah my girlfriends dope, y/n come meet jake and the others".

Rosa was sat working her way through a hard case when you walked past. "Hey Rosa" you smiled patting her arm as you passed. "Hey y/n" Rosa said without thinking and then she jumped up "wait y/n why are you here?". "Dont worry im not here to see you, i know you said you were really busy so im just waiting for Gina". "Gina" rosa asked narrowing her eyes "why?". "Were going for coffee, gina texted me saying shes in a 911 emergency of bordem so im helping her". "Why?" Rosa asked still confused. "Because were friends" you frowned as gina appeared. "Hey y/n you ready to go?". You nodded kissing Rosa's cheek "see you later Rosa". Rosa stood shocked as Gina said something to you snd you burst out laughing. "Is that y/n and Gina? Jake asked. "Yeah so what...they're just getting coffee". "Looks like Gina stole your girl" Charles joked making Jake laugh until Rosa punched him in the gut. "No shes not that the stupidest thing you ever said Boyle!" Rosa exploded storming away.

When Gina got back Rosa was sat at her desk. Gina didnt even realise until she bumped into her. "Erm Rosa i sit here silly" Gina said "you sit over there". "Just do this for me as my friend" rosa sighed "please Gina, i like her and dont want anything or anyone to mess this up". The next day rosa jake and gina were in the conference room going over a case when you burst in. "Why did you ask Gina to stop talking to me?" You asked angrily. Rosa looked over at Gina who made a squeak and ran from the room. "What do you not want me hanging around with your friends? Are you embarassed of me or something?". Jake stood up awkwardly "okay ill leave you two to...." and followed Gina. "Im not embarassed of you" Rosa replied "my friends all like you and they should". "So why tell Gina to leave me alone". "I didnt like the two of you spending so much time together"? Rosa shrugged. "Why dont you trust me?" You asked angrily. "Of course i do" rosa sighed "its just.. i'm already insecure in this...youre nice and out of my league, youre funny and smiley and know all the kardashians, i already feel worried about our relationship not working because we have vastly different interests and seeing you having fun with gina makes me wonder why youre not with someone like that, someome who watches trash tv and gets your celebrity references and gets super excited when blake lively and ryan reynolds tweet each other, maybe im not good enough”. “You seriously think im out of your league?” You asked in shock “rosa you're gorgeous and cool and can speak a different language, you're intelligent and ride a motorcycle and youre a badass police officer and while you dont judge Oscar outfits with me you make me laugh and smile and most importantly you make me happy" you smiled "i love you Rosa, exactly as you are”. Rosa smiled “i love you too” and then blushed “thats the first we've said that”. “It is” you smiled “do you feel better now?”. “Nope” rosa shrugged before kissing you quickly “now i do”. You grinned and exited the room together “next time just tell me how you feel” you smiled "you're my girlfriend and i want to help you". Rosa nodded "i know, next time ill just be open and honest". “Does this mean youre fine with me and gina being besties?”. Rosa rolled her eyes but smiled and nodded. 1- favorite character of all time?

James Flint McGraw. 100%. Granted, John Silver is so close behind him that its a tricky choice. But James is without a doubt my favorite character. Both because of his story, how well i relate to it, and because hes just an over dramatic shit who has never had an ounce of chill. I love him.

2- character i used to dislike but now love?

I never outright disliked him, but Charles Vane really grew on me through seasons 2 and 3. I think seeing him grow as a person, become himself, and stand for something greater than just gold made him a really wonderful character in my mind. Im in denial, at the very least.

3- character i used to like who i dislike now?

Dufresne. Like holy fuck dude you rip out a mans throat with your teeth and im thinking youre gonna be so much fun and then you turn into a weasly little shit who throws slurs at disabled people and betrays his crew. Like nah boy. Nah.

4- character im indifferent about?

Honestly i think eleanor, while being fascinating, interests me the least. I cant pinpoint why exactly, but while i respect her struggle and her various victories, she kinda exhausts me at times.

5- character who deserved better?

Miranda Hamilton and Mr Scott. Both get picked because they were such phenomenal people and their endings, while serving plot, left me feeling a tad bitter. Ill add Charles Vane as an aside, because im still in denial.

6- ship i cant get into?

Eleanor and Vane. To me, it seemed too toxic and too manipulative to be healthy and truly love. But thats just me.

7- ship i wont get over?

FlintSilver and FlintHamilton, aka the two canon ships that will haunt me until i die.

8- cute lokey ship?

12- plot you think should never have been written?

Its not something that shouldnt be written, but something i wish we saw more of, and thats madi and silver’s relationship. We dont get a lot of time to see them fall in love, and id have liked to see more of their growth together.

Also im in denial about charles so theres that.

13- first thoughts?

I had expected Black Sails to be like every other gritty, dark show about white dudes on tv. I had heard tidbits of good things but wasnt willing to be impressed. I mean, i love pirates, the whole aesthetic and idealism of pirates, i enjoy period pieces, and i enjoy a good bit of well choreographed violence. But the likelihood that it would be just like every other show on tv made me wary at first, so i put it off for a while. But when my boyfriend binged seasons 1-3 in as many days, i caved, expecting to be disappointed.

14- my thoughts now?

I have three Black Sails tattoos planned. I have “Know No Shame” in the bio of almost every social media account i use, i have been adding all the books mentioned in the show to my library, i have been telling everyone i come across to watch this show, i dragged my girlfriend into the abyss with me. I have cried more for this show than i have cried over any other media, and that includes any superheroes or harry potter or books.

The story morale, of love being our guiding principle, of fighting for who you are and your place in the world- the fact that the lead protagonist is an emotionally vulnerable bisexual man, that there are multiple queer characters and poly amorous arrangements, disabled characters who are strong and treated with respect, that the notion of liberation and freedom and the darkness being a home when civilization casts us aside-

This show has effected me in ways i would have never in my life anticipated or prepared for. I dont think i will ever be able to fully express the impact this show, this story, and most importantly these characters, have had on me as a person.

The simplest way to say it- it has made me braver, more willing to face the world as i am.

And maybe thats ridiculous. But what the show has given me, the lessons spoken by the characters, has given me footing, something to look to when im afraid.

X-Men: Blue #1

This issue totally delivered, and I’m really excited about what Cullen Bunn seems to be promising for us.

[SPOILERS]

So listen.  Before I start...  His run of Uncanny X-Men, I think we can all agree was very sub-par.  But maybe.. this was due to the fact that a shitty scenario was thrust upon him.  I don't know.  Inhumans.. M-Pox...  He had to write everything around what Lemire and Soule were setting up for the big IvX shakedown.

But now that all of thats over and the smoke has cleared, I feel like he’s stepped into something quite wonderful.  He’s been given the opportunity to take over the All-New X-Men.  Only, this isn’t the All-New X-Men anymore.  This is X-Men: Blue.  Cullen fully admits that Dennis Hopeless is his mortal enemy and that Bendis’ run was way better.  He says that this run is going to take the O5 to even more exciting, bold places and they’re definitely adding to the roster.  But not just 1 or 2 people.

So it’s gonna start to feel like AnX continued, but gradually evolve into something else entirely.  And I’m actually very excited about that.

So let’s get to the current deal.  Last we checked, the All-New X-Men were training in the Danger Room and left behind a message that they were leaving.  They took a jet and, somehow managed to grab new costumes in the process.  But where were they going?

Well, it looks like Beast still has that pocket cerebra tracker on his tablet.  So basically, the Jet is just a way better version of their Bus.  These guys are used to traveling around.  [At first I assumed that they were just gonna.. live on the Jet?  But you’ll see.]

First of all, in their travels, one of the first things that is said in this book is Iceman complaining about not having Pickles around any more to just teleport them anywhere on a whim.

Beast is extra harsh, having little to no patience for Bobby.  [I also noticed that with Scott too.  Bunn is definitely taking Hank in a darker direction which is interesting.]

Scott’s flying the plane and reminding everyone to use their codenames.  Bobby reminds him that Jean’s in charge.  [No matter how much they shove this down our throats, I am always going to picture Scott as the leader until I see Jean actively acting like one.  And so far in this issue, not-so-much.]

Angel is flying outside in not-half as impressive as an outfit that he had before in Hopeless’ run.  That said, he tells everyone that he spotted their target.

For one reason or another, they set out on a mission to visit a very expensive yacht along the Mediterranean Sea.

Cutting to the chase, Black Tom Cassidy was on this yacht, seemingly bothering the rich people with his presence.  [You may remember him from Bunn’s run of Uncanny].  I kind of liked seeing him again, but I didn’t really care.

What I liked seeing a lot more was the battle tactics the O5 used against him.  It wasn’t perfectly in sync, but it was great to see Warren grab innocents and fly them to safety, while Scott used his optics and Bobby definitely used his ice, which seems to have been defined.  Hank definitely lands a kick on Black Tom while he’s distracted and mentions that that’s what team work is.

Then we find that Juggernaut is with him.  He’s rocking a new, but familiar outfit, complete with that helmet.  Who knew brown, gray and black would look so good together.

I have to say, his presence definitely energized the issue for me.  Warren focuses on Black Tom, while Bobby totally freezes Juggernaut for a good couple of seconds.  That was surprising.

I also loved him asking why they look so young.

Continuity wise, he is also super pissed at Scott for the actions of his dead counterpart.  [Still on the death of Xavier, of course.]

Jean finally puts Black Tom to sleep, while Scott is being chased outside by Juggernaut.  Bobby suggests that he keep running and Angel tells him to jump over the boat.  “I’ve got you!”  [This is the kind of team work that I love to see.]

Scott jumps overboard, Juggernaut follows him like an oaf and then Warren catches Scott and flies him back on board.

Juggy comes back of course, but then Beast pulls a new fascinating magic move.  [It seems that Hopeless’ run opened up a new avenue for Hank, which Bunn is interested in continuing.  The idea that Hank is an aspiring mystic now.]

So like I said, he uses magic.  Like, straight up, Dr. Strange style, pulling up a 7-starred circle.  And he uses it to send Juggernaut away.

This throws of Scott as he asks what he exactly did.  “Saved the day.” Hank remains mysterious.

I didn’t think they were quite arguing until Bobby pointed it out, but Scott asked him if he sent him to Hell.

Hank gets super aggressive about it, calling him a jackass, and that he sent him to Siberia.  “With a short detour through Hell.”  [Hah. Interesting.  But what’s with the name-calling??  Hopeless seemed to have mended whatever estranged fence they had from Bendis’ run.  Or ignore it...  It looks like Bunn is opening it back up.]

With the day saved, we can move on to them going to their new home which is somewhere in Madripoor.  Its a nice looking house.  Not quite a mansion, but its got a nice porch and 2 levels.  [I was wondering, where the Hell could they be?  Who owns that place.”

And we find out that they definitely report to someone.  Someone sent them out to find and attack Black Tom Cassidy.  And it was none other than...  Magneto!

On a screen behind him we see that the next targets are Sebastian Shaw, Emma Frost, and M...  

“We must be ever-vigilant, X-Men.  Threats against mutant kind. Comrades who have lost their way. Mutants who capitalize on the fears of the populace.  You have been chosen...   You, the earliest incarnation of Charles Xavier’s dream... to ensure that this dream becomes reality.  And I will guide you.”

Whoa!

So this is a STRAIGHT up continuation/different direction from Uncanny!!!

That last issue of Uncanny was rough.  But it seems that Psylocke shook something up in Magneto by actually killing him!

Elixir healing him right away may or may not have given him new motivation.  To start fresh with a new team.  And who better than the Original 5?

Even better... it seems like Magneto is rectifying his old mistakes.  That’s really cool man.  I can really get into that.

But can he really be trusted?  Or is he just gonna manipulate these poor suckers too?

The coolest part about all of this is that the All-New X-Men have already taken up residence with Magneto in the mid-section of Bendis’ run of AnX.  So it’s not like they’re unfamiliar with him.

I don’t know.  I really like it.  We’re in a different direction, books have merged and Bunn promises to go to some very interesting and exciting places with not just these guys, but a bunch of long-time forgotten X Characters.

I can’t wait to see what changes we have in store.

Hemp: how one little plant could boost America’s economy

The plant is almost magical, advocates say, with a range of applications from paper to medicine. So why is it illegal to grow?

Imagine a plant that cuts cholesterol, reduces our exposure to toxins, can ease joint inflammation, proves more durable than concrete, and can provide the economy with much-needed jobs for farmers and manufacturers. This wonder of the world exists its hemp. But it is illegal to grow in America.

Hemp and marijuana both are cannabis plants in fact, both are cannabis sativa. Hemp, however, contains virtually no THC (the psychoactive ingredient in pot), so smoking it will not get you stoned. Yet industrial hemp has endured 80 years of purgatory and prohibition at the hands of the government.

Hemp has been hailed as the little plant that could for centuries for making fabric, rope, sails, paper and canvas. Hemp plants require less chemical spraying than cotton, soy, corn and wheat. It can help reduce soil degradation by faring better with less water and in drier climates. Paper made from hemp could help reduce deforestation, and requires fewer chemicals for processing than wood pulp. Hemp fabric has antibacterial qualities that can help it fight staph infections in hospitals.

Thats not all. Hemp seeds and oils offer more and better proteins than soy, along with the highest percentage of essential fatty acids and the lowest percentage of saturated fats compared with other oils. The cannabinoids (CBD) in hemp can reduce inflammation and may even protect against anxiety and depression, seizures and brain injuries, according to recent studies.

Former NFL quarterback Jake Plummer became a promoter of hemp in general after he discovered that CBD oil from hemp alleviated headaches and post-football aches. If he was still playing, however, hed be forbidden from using it. We need to change the perceptions about hemp, he says, adding that hed love to see the stodgy NFL lead that charge by funding research into the oils benefits. The NFL needs to help get players off prescription meds as much as possible, and hemp could help.

A political battle

America already safely consumes $580m worth of products made from imported hemp every year from milk to T-shirts to soaps. Yet because it has been illegal to import or cultivate seeds, the farming, processing and manufacturing jobs associated with hemp belong to the 30 countries growing it, from Canada to France to China.

We are the only industrialized nations not to allow it, says Joseph Yost, a Republican member of Virginias state legislature and hemp supporter, who points out that hemp could replace tobacco as a cash crop and bring back some of the manufacturing jobs that have left his state.

But after years of lobbying, Eric Steenstra, president of Vote Hemp and executive director of the Hemp Industries Association, says efforts to legalize it are having an impact. The first breakthrough came in 2014, when Congress allowed for hemp to be grown for research purposes in states that permitted it. In 2016, 9,649 acres of hemp were planted across 15 states, and 30 universities conducted research on the crop. It allowed skeptical legislators to see the plants potential up close, and helped demystify it for some, Steenstra says.

The next, more politically daunting, step is persuading Congress to remove hemp from Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act, where it was added by Richard Nixons administration.

Only kneejerk drug warriors are still against hemp and every month that becomes increasingly more absurd, says David Bronner, CEO of Dr Bronners, the popular health product company. Bronner positioned his company as an ardent backer of the cause. I never dreamed the process of making it legal to grow hemp would take this long, he said.

Growing and dissent

Alex White Plume, a former tribal president of the Oglala Sioux, began trying to grow hemp nearly two decades ago but was repeatedly persecuted by the federal government. He recently returned to South Dakota from the Standing Rock pipeline protests and equates the two struggles. They are exactly the same, he says. We need to heal the earth and hemp can be used to replace many of the things we use today that [are harmful].

In 1998, White Plume realized hemp could help break the Pine Ridge reservations cycle of deep poverty. He persuaded the tribe to legally adopt an ordinance differentiating between industrial hemp and marijuana, and thought tribal sovereignty would protect him from federal incursions.

His family researched the farming and business side he envisioned as many as a dozen different businesses arising from the different parts of the hemp plant and in 2000 they planted the crop not far from Wounded Knee Creek. The Bureau of Indian Affairs had long tried to turn us into farmers, and I thought hemp was the way to do it, White Plume says.

Then US officials showed up with guns, bulletproof vests and weed-whackers. They decimated his plants. White Plume tried again in 2001 and 2002, until the government got an injunction against him for growing hemp without DEA permission. Despite help from Vote Hemp, White Plume says he nearly went broke appealing and still lost the case.

It is awful and oppressive, White Plume says. The state wont do diddly squat for our people but the government comes in and takes away my plants.

Vote Hemp backed by money from Bronner recently hired a new lawyer and last year a federal judge finally lifted the federal court order. White Plume, 65, is still not allowed to grow hemp, but can now be paid to consult on hemp projects in other states.

The whole thing makes me angry, says White Plume, who adds that he no longer has the energy to become a hemp mogul but that his sister and daughter are developing business plans. The United States should honor the treaties and our sovereignty.

Ryan Loflin, a Colorado alfalfa and sorghum farmer, followed White Plumes footsteps. In 2013, he planted 60 acres of hemp without government permission as an activist statement. This is a political movement, he says.

Loflin got media coverage, successfully daring the government to step in. It was just time for this to happen, Loflin says. My community has been struggling for 30 years and lost a lot of farms but hemp can be beneficial to society and valuable to my community.

A long political battle

Hemps demise traces back to the 1937 Marihuana Act, which imposed taxes and bureaucratic burdens on farmers. The culprit was the First Federal Bureau of Narcotics commissioner, Harry Anslinger, whose department needed a worthy project when alcohol was legalized.

After Prohibition politicians needed their next new enemy to fight against, says Dan Ratner, co-founder of Healthy Brands Collective, which owns the Tempt line of hemp-based food products. Ratner believes that the DuPont company (which made nylon, a new rival for hemp) and newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst (who owned many paper and timber interests) slandered hemp by playing up its cannabis roots, but its also plausible that hemp got accidentally caught up due to indifference and misunderstanding.

During the second world war, with Filipino imports cut off by Japan and the war machine desperate for hemp products such as tow lines, parachutes and aviation lubricant, the government produced a short film called Hemp For Victory, encouraging farmers to return to the plant; with federal aid thousands of acres of hemp were grown. Afterward, hemp faded back into obscurity until 1970 when Nixon put marijuana on Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act and industrial hemp was again lumped in with it.

Yost, who sponsored a Virginia bill legalizing hemp, says years of educational efforts have made inroads. These days, both Steenstra and Bronner are optimistic about legalization, thanks to changing perceptions and the demand for farming and manufacturing jobs.

Outsourcing American jobs is not a popular concept right now, adds Polis. Theres so much potential for the economy it would be crazy not to move forward, Steenstra says, adding that it is also a states rights issue that should appeal to conservatives.

He says Iowa senator Charles Grassley, the judiciary committee chair, has repeatedly bottled up hemp bills to prevent a vote but Bronner says Republicans like Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul of Kentucky see the crops commercial potential and have been amazing champions who may finally liberate hemp.

Legalization is just the first step. We need infrastructure, Bronner says, so hemp can be processed and manufactured on a large scale. Legalization will attract investors and banks but supporters also hope for government grants and subsidies to create a market for hemp.

Loflin, the Colorado farmer, agrees: We need to build this industry from the ground up.
