I actually really love episodes where the gang just get on with each other and enjoy each other company.

When Charlie said "Let's go back to the bar where we belong" I just think of them at Guigino's Italian Restaurant, Dennis telling Dee "I want to hear some jokes out of you tonight", or Mac, Dee and Dennis huffing gasoline and watching cartoons together. And them all sitting in Charlie's flat watching movies under blankets. I just love the terrible people being the least terrible they are capable of being with each other.

These moments make the fact that they all stay in each other lives make sense.

I love mac and Dennis’ dynamic in the gang dines out. It is so couple-y. I love them being excited to hang out. I love that they have ‘monthly dinners’. I love that mac is demanding Dennis to respect him, I love him setting boundaries and talking about being upset. I love Dennis listening to Mac and Actually trying to make him feel better. They’re treating eachother like friends. Boyfriends. Not just two people stuck with eachother, fuelled by hatred like the later seasons. There’s a mutual respect.
