Under the Spotlight [Part I]
Steve Harrington and Eddie Munson hate each other. At least that's what the press is saying. Also known as the Actor!Steve AU.
It starts like this: Steve is in Los Angeles. He’s just began shooting his new period drama show and the first round of promotion is starting as well.
Personally, Steve doesn’t like this part of his job very much. It’s tiring, and also kinda boring, talking to the press. They’re always asking the same questions, always trying to make Steve give out more information about his personal life or trying to get on his good graces by flattering him in the most obvious ways. If he could, Steve would stick to just acting, but he’s still not famous enough to skip talking to the press and going to events if he wants his shows and movies to catch the public’s attention. So, he sucks it up and tells Robin she can let the reporter in so Steve can start his sixth(?) interview of the day.
The woman is nice enough, he guesses. She asks about the show, what Steve can share with his fans, what his fans can expect of this new role. Then, of course, just like every single reporter that came before her, she asks how Steve felt about working with Nancy Wheeler for the first time since they broke up. It’s so predictable that Steve would roll his eyes if he could. Sadly, he can’t. It wouldn’t be polite of him; it wouldn’t look good. So Steve plasters one of his trademark smiles and says the same thing he did to the other reporters.
“Nancy is a great actress and one of the best friends I have. Working with her is always a joy.”
And it’s not even a lie. Nancy is great and she is one of his best friends. Their relationship ended, yes, but it was a mutual understanding, and they parted in good terms, with no bad blood between them. They broke up almost two years ago, there’s no reason for things between them to be weird anymore.
That’s not what the press wants to know, though. They just want Steve to let something slip so they can explore it, distort it and publish it as truth. Steve’s been in this industry for enough time to know how it works.
The reporter seems unimpressed by his mild answer. She insists, mentioning Jonathan Byers, Nancy’s new boyfriend (fianceé, actually, but that information is not public knowledge yet) just to see if she can get a reaction out of him. Poor woman, she’s gonna have to do better than that.
When she realizes Steve’s not going to give her anything, the woman deflates. She moves on to other topics, prods Steve a little about his personal life, but her heart is not there anymore, Steve can see it.
“Alright, Steve, we’re almost done here, I promise,” the reporter (Anna? Anne?) says. “We asked your fans to send us questions on our Twitter page and selected a few.”
“Okay.”
The woman takes a minute to go over her notes.
“Okay,” she says, straightening her posture on the armchair she’s sitting. Steve does the same, more out of respect than anything. “@lysa_07 asks: did you always want to become an actor, or did you think about following a different career?”
“When I was in school, I played basketball and wanted to go pro. I was pretty good, actually, some universities offered me a scholarship and everything, but I got injured when I was in my senior year. Had to go through knee surgery and eight months of PT just to be able to walk by myself again.”
“So acting was your second choice?”
“At first, yes. But looking back I think I’m better off where I am right now. I loved playing basketball when I was a kid, but by the time I got injured it was more about winning than anything else. The fun I used to feel when I was playing was not there anymore because I was always worried about failing and letting my team and coach down. So, I guess even if I didn’t get injured, I would eventually have given up on basketball anyway. Living under that kind of stress is not for me.”
Nodding, Anne(?) types something on her tablet. “Yeah, I get that. I was on the soccer team in high school, the pressure really is crazy,” she agrees. “Okay, second question. @harringtons_fan_5_ever: What do you like to do in your free time?”
Steve chuckles. “Call me lame, but all I want to do when I have free time is go home, see my dogs and sleep as much as I can. There’s nothing better than that.”
“They don’t travel with you? Must be hard being away from them for so long.”
“They’re old dogs, travelling is too stressful for them now. And, yes, I miss them like crazy, they’ve been with me for over ten years.”
“Oh, I see. I hope you get to see them soon, then.”
Another pause as the reporter types something else on her tablet. Steve takes the water bottle on the small table beside him and takes a sip, his throat a little parched after talking for so long. He hopes the woman is being honest and they are almost done, because Steve can’t wait to get the hell out of here.
“Last question is from @justaccoffingirlie,” she says. “It’s two questions, actually. First, she asks: In terms of music, what are your favorite genres? And follows with: what do you think about Corroded Coffin’s last album?”
“I guess pop and classic rock are my main choices when I’m making a playlist,” Steve answers, thoughtful. “Sorry, but what was that second question?”
“What do you think about Corroded Coffin’s last album?”
“Is that a band?” he asks, a small frown forming on his face as he tries to make sense of whatever the woman expects him to answer. “I’ve never heard of them before.”
“Yes, it’s a metal band. They’re very popular, their new tour has been sold out for months. They released their third album a couple of months ago.”
“Seriously? People listen to a band named Corroded Coffin? Wow, I had no idea.”
For the first time since the interview started, the reporter smiles brightly, nodding once again, this time with more enthusiasm.
“Yeah, they’re pretty big, you know!?” she says. “Their fans are very passionate.”
“Oh, good for them, I guess.”
“It sure is. Thank you very much for your time, Steve. We should publish this interview in two weeks. We’ll send all the details to your team when the article comes out.”
“Sure. It was great talking to you.”
In retrospect, Steve should have suspected something was not right. Anna had looked too satisfied by the end of their little chat. But he suspected nothing. After almost two hours, Steve just wanted to go back to his hotel room. He had a plane to catch that night and an eight-hour flight to Europe awaiting him.
-
-
Two weeks later, that interview he’s given is the last thing on Steve’s mind.
The make up team is working their magic on him whilst Steve reads for the last time his lines for the scene they’re about to start shooting that morning. Nancy is in the chair beside him, chatting with the hairdresser as the woman works on her as well. It’s all a little chaotic, but familiar enough for it to be relaxing in a way.
That is, until the door to the make-up room is slammed open and a pissed off Robin shows up on the threshold.
“Robin? What happen—” Steve begins to say but stops when Robin starts beating him with what seems to be a rolled-up magazine.
“You are a dumbass!!” she says, hitting him with no mercy. “Why do you do this? Do you fucking hate me, Harrington?!”
“What the hell, Robin!? Stop!”
The make-up artists scramble away from the woman, letting Steve all by himself to deal with her. Traitors!
“You. Are. An. Idiot!” she says, furious.
Steve grabs her wrist when she tries to hit him again and takes the fucking magazine out of her hands. That doesn’t stop her; Robin just starts slapping him with her bare hands.
“Hey, Robin, come on, stop hitting him,” Nancy, beautiful, sweet Nancy says, coming to Steve’s rescue. She grabs Robin’s arm and pulls the other woman away from Steve, forcing her to sit down on the chair she had previously been using. “Breathe, Buckley, you’re not making any sense.”
“You want me to make sense? I’ll make sense. I’m gonna kill this fucking idiot!!”
Steve gets up from the chair before Robin can reach him again. “You’re crazy!”
“Of course I am! You’re always trying to make my life difficult by opening your big, fat mouth. Why can’t you shut up, Harrington? Why?”
“What the hell are you talking about? I didn’t say anything.”
“Yes, you did!”
“What did he do, Robin?” Nancy asks, just as confused as everyone else in the room.
Robin takes a deep breath, massaging her temples.
“Look at the fucking magazine, Steve,” she hisses.
Still lost, Steve unrolls the magazine and looks at its cover. It’s him. It’s a picture from a photoshoot he did a month ago, his name printed in big yellow letters announcing his interview on page 17.
“They published my interview, so what? Why are you pissed at me?” he asks, staring at the flattering picture with narrowing eyes. There’s no mention of Nancy on the cover, which is good in his humble opinion.
“I’m pissed at you because you are a dumbass who doesn’t know how or when to shut up. Why did you have to mock Corroded Coffin? Have you lost your mind?”
“I did what?”
“Oh, Steve,” Nancy says, mournful. “Tell me you didn’t do that.”
“I have no idea what she’s talking about, Nance, I didn’t mock anyone.”
Nancy grabs the magazine from his hands and opens it, flipping pages until she finds Steve’s interview. Her eyes roam over the page for a moment, then she lets out a small sigh.
“’When asked about Corroded Coffin’s new album, Steve Harrington claimed he has never heard of the band before and found funny the idea of a band with such a silly name being so famous,’” Nancy reads aloud, whilst Robin glares daggers at him. “’Seriously? People listen to a band named Corroded Coffin? Wow, I had no idea.’”
“I never said their name was silly!” Steve defends himself.
“But you implied it, that’s more than enough for these people, you know that,” Robin says. “What were you thinking, Steve?”
“Oh, come on. You’re overreacting, Robin. No one’s gonna care if I find a band name funny or not. Relax, woman.”
“Sorry, Steve, but Robin is right,” Nancy says, closing the magazine and giving it back to Robin. “Corroded Coffin’s fans are crazy loyal. They’re gonna go nuts when they read this.”
“Not you too, Nance.”
“But it’s true, Steve. Seriously. Corroded Coffin has one of the biggest fanbases I’ve ever seen. Their concerts are always packed. I went to one of their concerts with Jonathan last month and the crowd was insane; they screamed so loud my ears were ringing for hours after the show.”
“If they’re so famous, why haven’t I heard of them before?”
“Because you’ve been listening to the same ten artists since High School, that’s why,” Robin says, flicking him on the forehead. “Pray to God that their fans don’t take this shit to heart, Harrington. Because if they do, they’re gonna make your life, and by extension my life, a living hell.”
“At least he didn’t say anything about Munson,” Nancy laughs. “Now that would be a bad call.”
“Who?”
“Oh my God, you’re hopeless,” Robin groans, throwing her hands up in the air in frustration.
She throws the magazine at Steve, then storms out of the room, slamming the door shut and without looking back.
Steve frowns at the magazine in his hands, his own face looking back at him from the cover as if mocking him somehow.
Robin was just overreacting, right?

It's too soon to tell, but I believe that what will happen after this is...
Iran will seek peace after this. In fact this whole scenario seems like there is a peace deal going behind the scenes.
It will probably get it because no matter how much they can bomb, it will eventually get too expensive for the Israelis, and Trump will say and do whatever but mostly, he only cares about getting things done, I think he's already done with this (and it seems that Russia and China are getting involved too)
Iran will, however, try to get a nuclear bomb as soon as possible, and it won't be stopped. They're a country of 92 million people with a big economy and a determined leadership. North Korea could do it, they will do it, no matter how much Israel tries to stop them.
Israel will keep bombing and doing whatever the hell it wants until either it faces concentrated world pressure (that is, everybody stops trading with it, like apartheid South Africa) or the US janks its chain and tells it to stop. Neither seem likely.
Once Iran gets the bomb, even one single bomb that gets through can completely devastate Israel. They know this, and so they won't mess with Iran anymore, at least not overly like now. They will try, because they know nobody will say no to them.
Saudi Arabia will get nuclear bombs too, and they probably won't face any sanctions from anyone because why should they, they haven't faced any consequences for all the awful shit they do, so why would this be the limit. They would get it faster.
And so Iran and Israel and Saudi Arabia will start threatening each other with nuclear weapons. Welcome, nightmare scenario.
You might think that this will force Israel to back down, but they won't. Their leadership has been guaranteed by the US and allies, time after time, that they can do anything they want with no consequences and with full backing, in fact, they might get even more aggressive
Soon, Iran will do something, anything, and Israel will see it as a declaration of war. It takes just one fanatical warmonger like Netanyahu (and Israeli politics are full of them) to do a "preemptive" strike.
It won't be a WWIII though because I'm very, very sure that Russia, China, and India/Pakistan will stay as far away from this as possible. But it will be nuclear.
I don't think I need to say this but: Nobody wins here. Millions die. Take a look at occupied Palestine. It's a very small place. Any hit there means the death of millions, Israelis and Palestinians. Israel has like 100 nukes and the "Samson Option" doctrine where they will bring down the entire Middle East with them. Countless millions will die and suffer, entire countries will be devastated.
All this because the US tried to held their imperialist enclave against all human decency and even rationality. Millions of dollars and bloodshed so that Israel can keep an apartheid system and a genocide have led to this.
There is, to me, only one option to prevent this outcome, that the entire world completely boycotts Israel, shuts them down from all international organizations and trade, and brings them down to a negotiation table where they're treated like the menace they are, and the United States stops defending them. They will face the same options that apartheid South Africa did: completely dismantle their system and government, or collapse. They are a fanatical apartheid regime that won't listen to reason otherwise.
You might think this is too idealistic. But this is in fact the good scenario. The truth is Israel won't fold to military pressure as long as the US keeps defending them, no matter what happens, they're strong, and the US is always willing to defend them. And unlike South Africa, Israel is willing and able to start a nuclear war, they have shown no interest on stopping for anything or anyone. This nuclear annihilation would not only result in the destruction of Israel, but also Palestine and the entire Middle East. It would be the worst chapter in human history since WWII. It should have been avoided decades ago, but now it's even more critical.
That's just my opinion as a gordo geopolítica.

as someone who's 33 and writing Narilamb and reading your comics, and also kinda interested in different kinds of art myself, it is so so nice seeing someone around my age who's into this fandom and making art. I feel so stupid sometimes that it's hard to even pick up a pencil or stylus - and I'm new new new to art like that so I need that practice time. seeing people like you making what you love and not giving a good goddamn is really inspiring. I'm sure you get lots of love for your comics but idk I just wanted to say thank you 💗 your cat and Leshy make so many people smile for so many different reasons :)
AW I do get a lot of kind feedback, but it's rare that I don't have the time/energy to answer. I really appreciate messages. I do read and see all of it, and every little tag matters. It's why I try my best to leave at least a little tag when I reblog art, and I'm not shy about sending messages to creators when I have, again, time/energy. People are shy, but we are all dorks, you realize it pretty quick when you start interacting more with the artists you follow. Warning surprise super LONG life dump bellow. I was like "Inspiring, are you sure? I'm also wreck, let me tell you just so there's no misunderstandings" and bam, novel.
About being 35 and making whatever I want: I do in fact feel self conscious about a lot of things, it's just that people on the internet don't really matter. That sounds harsh, but it's true. It's like people you meet on the street, or at bars, or at work: mostly polite positive interactions, some nice memories, a few of them will form solid bonds with you, the vast majority of them will be lost as soon as they're not in the same vicinity as you anymore. And it's normal, and it's ok. Humans aren't made to nurture too many relationships, even the social ones. So I personally enjoy fandoms in a detached sort of way that might feel like I don't give a damn. I think it's healthy tbh. But it's easy to appear calm and detached when you don't really have skin in the game. I really care about this blog it's my fun place, but it's completely detached from my actual life. I'm being an anonymous dork among dorks, it's nice. Some people are dumb sometimes and I don't care. What are they gonna do, sue me, lol. BUT LIKE. I almost deleted that blog once because and IRL person I know found it? I panicked SO HARD. Y'all nerds can look at my silly comics with cute cats kissing: not people in my real life. I'd rather be found drawing hardcore tentacle porn or sniffing paint. I'm not like, brave or anything, I'm hiding online XD
And honestly life is haaaaaaaard right now. For everyone lately. but for me personally: fanart is a nice hyperfocus to forget that life is a bitch. A distraction. I've always been "too sensitive" never could hold a job for too long, because people are awful in low level entry jobs, I never got one that I really like. I've been studying art and digital art, it's been hard, and it didn't lead me anywhere professionally for various reasons. I paid a private school and I am just finishing paying a big loan, just for the (average) skills I got being used to draw a cartoon bush with legs, kissing a cat, on a dusty website. It's so incredibly easy to feel like a failure. And being an artist SUCKS in this world. I'm not an artist by choice, god I would love to be smart enough to have done different studies, and have some kind of job that actually pays. But no, just did a professional profile, and all my affinities lead to creative work, I'm doomed to be good at things that are hell to make money off of when you don't have twice or thrice the energy a regular job needs. I just can't stop. Even when I take breaks, I always come back to creating things. A life's curse, truly.
I feel depressed now, so let's filter this shit through my "15 years of therapy" voice translator: -I'm not too sensitive, people telling me this in my life have all been notorious assholes. If we had more raw hearted people, daily life would be softer, and we wouldn't have wars. Us kind softies are vastly underappreciated. -I haven't been paying a school for nothing, I met my best friends there, learned a lot of skills and methodology that serve me today, and will serve me later in ways I can't just pinpoint yet without hindsight. I also have a lot of experience and help I can share with younger people and beginners. I'm a great art teacher. -I'm happy that I can't help being creative. So much people trail off into things they don't like, and realize later that they're utterly miserable. It's harsh, but not having the strength to pursue something you don't like is kind of a blessing. You avoid so much shit on your life path. it's not a life worth living. I've seen people with good paying careers give them up to get fully into a passion. -It's okay to draw a bush kissing a cat, who fucking cares what you do on your free time, the cops? It's ok to enjoy cute and silly things even when everything gets serious- especially when everything get serious. So much of us get our inner child crushed it's terribly sad. -The silliness is serious actually. You can get a powerful life lesson from deep books about philosophy and self-care and shit, but they're not rare everywhere else. The silliest movie, comic or fanfic can have a line or a character that will resonate enough with you to change your life. Like a tiny little piece that was missing in your personnal puzzle. I felt deeply moved by some comics online, so my own comics online 100% have the same value. What are "serious" media but hobbyists getting their art to a bigger professional scale. We're all telling stories around campfires and there's nothing stupid, shameful or weak about that. Egyptian gods were dramatic furries ffs.
I'm eternally stuck between "Yeah follow your heart and do art" and "It will lead you to hell though" because I feel like both are true. But do you really have a choice? What are the other options? I personally don't, so I just pick up the pen for a hobby, and started applying to ceramic courses for a career change. We'll see where it goes.
Well that was a lot, but I have some serious anxiety issues that make me over-explain stuff, and I'm talkative, and I'm on my period. Enjoy.

🎉 Kenfetti Week 2025 Prompts 🎉
Tumblr media
Day 1 - With a Twist
Take a tale, a genre, a popular trope, then twist it. Is a mafia boss the one getting kidnapped? A dream come true fairytale turning out to be a horror? Soulenemies instead of soulmates? Whatever you decide, write it with a twist!
Day 2 - Machinations
Today is a day of intrigue and machinations. Is it galactic politics, or courtroom drama? Spies and subterfuge, going undercover? Or will the intrigue be more personal, with manipulation, cults, or fake relationships? What are these two plotting? It’s up to you to decide.
Day 3 - Matched Souls
And they were soulmates! Red string of fate, first words, sharing dreams, sharing pain, soulmarks, countdown timers, the possibilities are endless. Do they know right away, or are they astounded to find out the truth months after meeting? Is this the best thing that ever happened or a cosmic tragedy? All that’s certain is one way or another they were made for each other.
Day 4 - Universes Combined
Put Jango and Obi-Wan into your favorite other worlds, will they be dragon riders? On an episode of game changer? Will they be DC superheros and villains, will Obi-Wan be a tinker fairy in Pixie Hollow? Or will they still explore space but now with Time Lords and Daleks? The only limit is your imagination!
Day 5 - Magic, Monsters, and Myths
What if Jedi actually were sorcerers? What if a Mandalorian’s armor was actually their scales as a dragon? Today it’s time for werewolves and vampires, mermaids and cryptids, gods and legends and things of myth. Anything you make for this day is sure to be fantastical!
Day 6 - Spinning Clocks
Adjust your clocks and get ready to fall back or spring forward! Whether they travel through time, get reincarnated, or just belong to a different era today is the day to mess with time. Obi-Wan could be a Jedi of the High Republic, or Jango could take Din’s place in The Mandalorian. Or perhaps they’re in our world navigating Edwardian high society. Whatever you choose set those clocks spinning!
Day 7 - Marriages Arranged and Otherwise
We are gathered here today to witness the union of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jango Fett. Are they pleased to be getting married? Scared witless? Is the arrangement just how things are done? For personal gain? To stop a war? No matter why they’re saying ridurrok they’re doing it today.
We hope you all are as excited to create for these prompts as we are!
As a reminder all works for Kenfetti Week 2025 are due by the end of August 10th! Any works submitted after August 10th will be accepted or rejected at the discretion of the mods.
You can submit works to the collection by going to the collection page and either clicking the "Post to Collection" button on the upper right hand of the page or by opening a new work and typing kenfetti_week_2025 into the "Post to Collections" field under the Associations box. Please remember to tag submissions with the relevant day you're submitting for and the year separated by a hyphen like "Day 3- 2025" or "Day 5- 2025" so that we can reveal them on the proper days!
You can also join us on discord to gush about the prompts and all your ideas for stories and art! We’d be so glad to have you!

@jester-nonconforming while Millie and her family doesn't have institutional power, people like them have more power day to day to fuck people over.
And that's what I want Millie to come to terms with it.
(Even if it's very unlikely to come from Sallie May 🙂. Honestly happy to have misread that).
Tumblr media
Millie's family owns a pretty large farm, with regular vacancies, incharge of hiring and firings.
Not one a single hellhound is employed there. Not a single hellhound is even at the festival, except Loona. So no body in this town is employing a hellhound here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then there's how Millie has the power to ruin Loona's day, and make her feel unwanted, in Loona's own family business.
Tumblr media
Both Millie and Moxxie can do this anytime they want, and did till recently.
Institutional power can feel too all encompassing to really feel like there's a way to change it.
It's what bribes your government takes, it's weather or not banks will lone to you, it's if you have to wait 5 years for a yearly vaccination or not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the power people like Millie has is up close and personal.
It's hiring and firings for bullshit reasons like you're hair being unprofessional, it's the apartment suddenly being rented out the moment when you apply. It's bullying in work because of something you can't change about yourself.
Without even really thinking about it, Millie can and did make Loona feel unsafe, and unwanted; in the space that specifically designed for her.
Blitz wants to help his found family out with IMP, that the whole point of it.
But it's a family business, and that job was made so Loona would have a safe space; after the trauma of the foster system, and group home that's was just a pound.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blitz can't do anything to make that system better, nor can Millie; or realistically even Stolas at the height of his power.
Tumblr media
It would take Bee noticing and staying involved over the long term. Something she's very unlikely want to do.
Tumblr media
I like Bee alot, but she about the high life and throwing a good party; more than she is about politics and institutional change. She's what you want, blowing off steam. Not what you need, systematic change.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it's is important that Blitz calls all the Sins out on that. But that's big picture stuff that can take years to overcome.
Tumblr media
Yer it's important that the top down hate is pointed out, cus unlike our world the people who set up this system are alive and around to yell at. And infinitely more likely to listen, in Bee and Ozzie's cases; than go full fascist if people ask for basic rights.
But it's also important we don't forget the day to day damage normal people like us can and do do to people with less privilege.
It's kinda important we look at what amount of power Stolas might have been able wield to change things.
Like he can break the law on who gets to use the grimoire, with a slap on the wrist. But he couldn't refuse a marriage, or not have a 'precautionary heir', being made easily replaceable.
Tumblr media
He loved one imp and would have been killed by his wife for it, if Andy didn't want something.
If Stolas have really started to make changes, outside his own house*, would it really have been long before Paimon called in that's implied threat? (*I'm certain he could have done better for the people he employed with no kickback).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Stella seemed pretty confident that the rest of the Goeita would side with her, because of Stolas' choice in lovers. If Via was younger she might have been right. No divorce, and she could kill him for the embarrassment factor. It does seem possible.
I'm also not trying to let Stolas off here either, because he neither had the will nor the inclination to make any changes when he did have power.
Tumblr media
That something his only start to learn now. (phft he's a dumbass, but we love him).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
None of the imps working for him ever got Sinsmas off, and the fecker could use them as a stress ball, or make their day worse by being a dunk idiot all shift.
Tumblr media
Sure, he was willing to give Blitz a shot, and lend him the resources to start IMP. And that's also not nothing.
But if it was someone else he didn't know, hell no are they getting that book. Let alone a shady sweetheart no monye deal for sex work.
Tumblr media
(Bee and Ozzie also wouldn't have spoken up for Blitz if they didn't already know him).
Tumblr media
(No other imp is getting this treatment).
There's a mantra that was drilled in my head as a kid; 'it's not what you know it's who you know'. Me and sib's first jobs were gotten at 7, cus we needed the cash. These were through someone who knew our mum. (We were still expected to get good grades too lol).
Tumblr media
But there's very few Blitzs. People both willing and able to take a shot on you; because they think you have talent. Like how Blitz does with Moxxie and Millie.
Tumblr media
Or take you in just cus they see you need someone to do that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's more often going to come down to who you know, and that lead us back to a whole town refusing to hire hellhounds... And Millie being raised like that.
Tumblr media
Odd thought, but does anyone else think Sallie May will be used to explode Millie's previous microaggressions to Loona?
Tumblr media
when the show starts Millie is more likely to call Loona their business's hellhound, instead of her name.
Tumblr media
Making Loona joint office property, like a stapler or the photocopier.
And when Millie heads home, with the rest of IMP, for the harvest moon festival; we see where she got this attitude. From her family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone else gets introduced by name; but Loona who's back to be described as property.
Tumblr media
Which Blitz rightly backs Loona up when she calls this shit out. But he slightly misses the point saying Loona's his daughter.
Tumblr media
She was asking to be seen as an individual, instead of resource owned by Blitz. Like a pet or a work animal. And Blitz bless him still ties her statues with these bigots to being his.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sallie doesn't even mention Loona in the group of people who came to visit.
Tumblr media
She mentioned Stolas, who wasn't even staying with in their home; when Loona was.
Tumblr media
Millie seems to have started to come around to treating Loona better. Using her name, talking to her directly instead of past her. And even asking her nicely to do something, instead of demanding things like Millie did before.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yep, it's the very bare minimum of starting to see the other person as a person. And if Millie's changes where pointing out now; it'd be Millie wanting a cookie for something she should have been doing all along.
But it is interesting that it's been left, when Stolas doing the same thing to Blitz has been called out. (Because both her and Stolas are trying to do better).
Tumblr media
It feels like a way to have this address would be seeing her own sister pull the same crap she used to. Sallie is set to be in more episodes. (Pet theory is she's help out with Millie's maternity leave).
Tumblr media
Loona didn't feel these people deserved to know her name, because she'd just be the hellhound to them anyway. It's not like any of them even asks.
I honestly can't see Sallie May not fucking this up and being very rude; with Millie having to think about her previous actions and apologise.

no bc why does NOBODY talk abt dementors 😭😭 ur telling me criminals are getting permanently robbed of their souls and everyone is fine and dandy with that??!?! insanity. i feel like both the books and the fandom dont spend enough time dissecting how horrific and inhumane that is regardless of whatever crime ppl committed it’s so crazy to me
no yeah the carceral state as depicted in harry potter is bewildering and also probably the most scathing indictment of the centrist worldview that jkr represents tbqh!! like the concept of “justice” as written in hp is so consummately liberal (Ontological Good = defense of the status quo)
very very brainrotted marauders fans will sometimes try to make the argument that jkr showing wizard society’s ills is the same as criticism. but i’ve always disagreed with this and if anything it shows the callousness & entitlement of liberal ideology, i.e the belief that “things will always be bad for someone, but this system is the best we’ve got!” - this belief is what allows jkr to feel comfortable writing a society with deep & violent inequality BUT have the entire trajectory of her plot be about defending such society from violent insurgents, while never addressing or reforming the violence inherent to the system. it drives me bonkers because this is a fictional world where she easily could have done that lol
i think that jkr’s brand of liberalism is just such an indefensibly bloodthirsty ideology 🫥 and that her politics beliefs inform every inch of the text & its plot structure. and that’s also why it pisses me off sooo bad when fans are like “X Character is a Death Eater = Bad Guy. You’re Not Allowed To Stan Them Or Ur Bad, Ethically 😡” <- obvious reasons aside it’s like… okay but you’re implicitly aligning yourself uncritically with the ethical worldview outlined by jkr which is itself horrifically flawed!!!!! and azkaban/the unquestioned yet exaggeratedly inhumane treatment of “criminals” as an underclass in harry potter is the most easily spotted example of these flaws
i talked about it more here in the context of my les mis reread but it will never not be funny to me that jkr is seemingly writing according to the exact same cartoonishly evil view of carceral “justice”/ morality that victor hugo was doing an exaggerated critique of in the 19th century. like she is literally javert.

Platonic Tisha With A Messy Reader!
Tumblr media
I first wanted to say a big thank you for everyone who send something in when I was going through a lot. I found an amazing group, you guys and them have really been helping me recover from all of this.. I think I'm ready to come back now! Even if things might be kinda slow!
Here you go, dear anon! I hope I did it well, I really like Tisha haha. My room isn't the best either, if I was ever a toon in Gardenview, she'd cry- SKSKSK here you go, thank you for requesting! <3
I hope I still got my writing skills oughhhh..
-Anna
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Tisha is always working so hard to keep the entire place clean and tidy, even helping the toon's rooms not be as messy. Though for some toons, she does get quite frustrated, she wants others to be considerate of her time, especially if it's the same toon that ask for a cleanup on the same place. You can still hear her say a firm "no" when Sprout begs for the kitchen to be cleaned or a toon talks about the mess in their room while looking at Tisha. You think it's good that she denies those, especially since she seems to overwork herself so much.
-In your case, Tisha really tries talking to you about your room. She's not.. exactly mad or anything but she is firm and honestly a bit concerned for you. If she sees that you are someone that is actually struggling keeping things tidy, together and it seems out of your control too, Tisha is more understanding in these moments. She's even willing to help keep your room at least in a presentable state or make it so it doesn't feel suffocating or anything like that to stay in there. If you are struggling with something, she's there to listen to you while she cleans around, it helps her understand you better.
-She does try some ways to help you out with anything you are struggling with, whether it's a specific chore or showing you how to do it yourself. She might even ask Shelly or someone else for some advice about how to make it not so boring for you, maybe make it into something that makes you feel like you did something good or it's just fun overall. She might not have the most time for you because she has places to clean but she tries to teach you what she can. Maybe even ways you can do them easier or make it more fun, how about stacking your clothes and seeing a tower of them? Maybe posing your figures in a cool way? Anything helps!
-If you can, you can handle the easier parts of keeping your room tidy and clean. Tisha doesn't mind handling the other more difficult parts for you, it's something she likes doing, after all. You can show her what stuff has dust on them or gather objects around and placing them somewhere, whether it would be a box or on top of a table or just anything while she sweeps and dusts things off. Anything that can help her get the job done a little faster, she will really appreciate it. Sometimes you clean in silence or share some talk together as you tidy up your room and make it brand new again.
-When she is not so busy, Tisha likes bringing you small rewards for helping her. She hopes they help motivate you to keep things tidy as much as you can at least, even small progress is still progress. If she's busy, she likes leaving them outside your door, knock and walk away. She has such a specific polite door knock that you can immediately tell it's her. By the time you open the door, she has already left, either cleaning one of the rooms around you or having left the floor you are currently on. You still wonder just how quickly she can be when it came to stuff like this. She really has mastered the whole thing.
-If you get better at it or even can do more, Tisha feels proud of you, even if it's small progress. It really shows in her smile when she observes your room and she really appreciates that you are putting effort in, especially if it's something that could be quite hard for you. Of course, she knows that some days can be hard so she doesn't want to say anything that might discourage you or make you feel bad, she understands not everyone can feel okay all the time. She tends to clean your room quietly while you rest, she does tell you to still take care of yourself though.
-If not, please don't feel bad. Tisha won't really get angry at you for it. You two can always find other ways that work for you to get through these difficulties. She will feel concerned if you seem genuinely distressed over this. All she can do is let you know that she is not really mad or anything bad. She might get you something nice to drink or to eat to help comfort you in some way. Like said before, you two can always find other ways to push through, it's something she tells you so you don't feel bad or anything.
-Sometimes Shelly might volunteer to help with it! She can be pretty smart and come up with various solutions or even ask around for any advice or tips. She comes up with the idea of listening to music or something as background noise while cleaning, something that can help motivate you maybe. She even goes to ask around to see what everyone else is doing while doing their own tasks and chores, she writes down everything that sounds useful and wants to try them out with you if it sounds good. She's such a sweetheart too, encouraging you and everything. She and Tisha will try their best to help with whatever they can.
-It's pretty funny but you and Tisha have built this unique friendship that isn't really seen anywhere else. You two bond over cleaning and tidying up your room, sharing small talk here and there. She actually talks to you about the events of her day while you two clean together. In a way, she's your background noise and it can be a pretty nice experience. Tisha feels nice talking about her day here and there, though it's mostly small talk in the beginning as she is focused on taking care of your room and making it look new again. She doesn't mind listening to you though, even if she gives small hums and that as an answer.
-As time goes in, you two even start hanging out outside of the whole cleaning your room stuff. She likes making some time to check up with you at the end of the day and make sure you are taking care of yourself properly, especially if she sees you struggling with that too. Sadly, it doesn't last too long as usually at the end of the day, she doesn't show how exhausted she is, just offering a tired smile. Tisha hopes she can help you with not being messy anymore in the future, she's pretty adamant on this.

||۶ৎ part 4 of "the stray" series. in which reader is forced to dinner with a more respectable guy, and dallas confronts her for it
⊹₊⋆.˚୨୧⋆.˚₊ ⊹
You didn’t see him for almost a week after that.
Not for lack of trying on his part; he’d been around. You’d caught him more than once lingering around the places he knew you’d be: the store, the school gates. Anywhere you might see him and feel inclined to speak.
But you never did.
Your parents had noticed your sudden quietness, and while they tried not to acknowledge it, it was becoming harder to ignore.
“She’s just overwhelmed,” your mother claimed one night over dinner, speaking as if you weren’t right here beside her to explain your own sadness yourself. “She’s got a lot going on: school stress, exams, college options. She doesn’t have enough structure, in my opinion.”
And it’s that statement that ended you up here, seated across from some suited-up golden boy in a country club. He was the son of one of your mother’s friends, a real sweet, sensible boy.
You should have wanted him… But you didn’t.
He was perfectly nice; Used his manners in the right places, asked about your hobbies and interests, and pulled out your chair for you. But he was also all about tennis and boarding school and his plans to summer in Maine. He was rich and materialistic, and it was clear his plans for a future with you consisted of marriage and children. Lots of children.
The clinking of silverware pierced through you, too loud in the quiet room.
Your mother sat at the end of the table, perfectly poised, sipping from her wine glass politely. Your father, stoic and straight-backed, barely looked up from his place. And this new boy? He smiled.
Always smiling.
He was seated beside you, sleeves of his shirt folded up neatly to his elbows. His hair was slicked smoothly, not a single strand out of place.
"So, Bradley," your mother began, emphasising his name enough for only you to catch on. she must have known you hadn't cared for his introduction. "How's your internship going? Your mother mentioned you were at the firm downtown."
Bradley set down his fork, nodding. "It's been good. They've let me sit in on a few meetings."
“That's wonderful." She sounded only half interested. "Good experience for when you're running your own company someday."
You kept your focus on your plate, pushing the cold chicken around absently. You felt Bradley glance up, his gaze lingering.
"How's school going for you?" He asked, polite as ever. "Are you still taking that writing course?"
You nodded, refusing to look at him, unable to face the kindness with which he treated you.
"Yeah… it's been fine."
"Fine?" Your father echoed, brows raised, and you shrugged. "She got an A on her last piece. Her teacher said it was very... vivid."
Bradley hummed, leaning closer to you, suddenly very engaged in a way that made you shift uncomfortably. “You’ll have to let me read it some time.”
“I don’t think it’s your thing.” You claimed suddenly, far too quick to just be a natural dismissal. You didn’t want him near any of your personal things, especially not something you prided yourself on.
He simply gave a small chuckle, trying not to show just how put out he was, even when the conversation turned tense, flaking out as everyone struggled for something to say that wouldn’t trigger you. ever
By the time everyone had cleared their plates, you were more than ready to get out. Your chair legs scraped the tiled floor as you stood, collecting your things quickly, wanting nothing more than to escape and never talk to anyone evr again…
Bradley grabbed your hand gently and tenderly, like someone afraid of startling a baby animal. His eyes were soft, not at all like Dallas’. “I’d like to see you again.” He whispered, and you swallowed heavily.
A part of you felt guilty for treating him so harshly—he hadn’t truly done anything wrong, infact, he’d been nothing but sweet to you. But at the same time, you resented him for being so perfect. For being exactly what your parents wanted for you.
“Maybe,” you muttered, pressing a light kiss to his cheek. Apologetic. “Sorry for the way i acted.”
Bradley shrugged it off, bidding you goodbye, and you didn’t think twice before dashing to the safety of your father’s car, not even looking back to see where he went.
You should’ve known word would get around fast; it always did.
Soon those judging  whispers of Dallas’ name were replaced with praising ones about Bradley, everybody looking at you like you were someone to be jealous of, the kind of girl everyone wanted to be.
Every single person took a shot at prying into your private life, leaning over rows during class to whisper: “did you really go to dinner with Bradley Hayes? Is he as nice as everyone says?”
And each time you’d have to smile politely and nod, giving people the answers they wanted to hear: You were with Bradley. Not Dallas.
You should have known he’d find out. Dallas Winston always had a way of catching onto things fast; you just never really expected him to.
You saw him outside the diner that afternoon, pacing. Not leaning, not lounging—pacing. Like a riled-up animal at a zoo. when he spotted you, he stopped dead, jaw clenched, eyes held and empty.
You hesitated, but your feet carried you toward him nonetheless, and at first neither of you spoke, just stared at the other like they were a stranger.
Then: "You got somethin' you wanna tell me, dollface?"
“What?”
He scoffed, stuffin his hands in his pockets. “Don’t play dumb.”
A haughty sigh left you at that, and you ran a hand through your hair, shaking your head. “I just had dinner with someone. That’s all.”
“Yeah?” His voice was dangerously low in a way you’d only ever heard directed towards other people, people he didn’t trust. NEver at you. “Seemed like more than just dinner to me.”
You raised a brow at that. “What would you know? You weren’t even there.”
"I know what your folks want for you. I know how they parade you around like a fuckin' show pony." he broke off, laughing bitterly. "And you let them. In fact, I think you like it, sweetheart."
Your cheeks burnt at that, your embarrassment becoming more and more prominent the longer he spoke. He was being harsh and he knew it; he wanted to hurt you, and that felt like a dagger straight to the heart.
"What was I supposed to do? Tell everyone I'd rather run around with a bunch of bums? Let them know I've been letting a hoodlum sneak into my room and that I've been kissing a boy who fights for fun and gets thrown into jail weekly."
His expression shifted then, the anger burning out, replaced with something akin to hurt. "That's what I am to you?" He asked quietly. "Some mistake you're trying to clean yourself of?"
You didn't answer. He didn't want you to. "You can pretend you don't want this, doll. Me. But we both know the truth. You came looking for this life, not the other way round."
You swallowed heavily, and while he was right, you would never admit to that. Never give him the pleasure of knowing he was always one step ahead of you. "I'm sorry."
"Don't be." He waved you off, suddenly guarded once more, all signs of vulnerability vanishing. His eyes fixate on you, calculating, piercing. “You like him?”
“Dallas–”
“Do you like him?” He snapped, and you deflated.
“I don’t even know him.”
"But they want you to. They want you with someone clean. The kind of guy who wouldn't know what to do with you if he did get to have you." he let out a long breath. "Look, I ain't mad because of some lunch. I ain't that sad. I'm mad that you're sittin' here trying to pretend like I don't exist."
"Because you don't exist in my world!" You said, trying to sound firm, but your voice cracked and the words shattered the moment they left your lips.
"Then why'd you keep comin' back?" he stpped forward, hand reaching out to fix the collar of your blouse, an absentminded thing he probably didn't even realise he was doing. "You can lie to them. But don't lie to me."
The quiet took reign once more, tense and buzzing, broken only when you finally stepped back. Away. "I can't do this."
Dallas looked at you for a beat, then nodded, like he'd expected this all along. "Wouldn't have expected anything less."

Hey guys!
Boy did things get very tense over here for a second. I’d just like to say first, thank you for all of your input and feedback. It’s always helpful and necessary, at times, to hear people out. Thank you also for everyone who shared their points maturely and politely. A difference of opinion is never an excuse to be rude and hateful.
Which brings me to my next point: please do not send any unsupportive/hateful/cruel/unsolicited asks to the relevant creator. That is never okay. Have your opinion about me all you want but as far as I’m concerned, there’s no bad guy here.
So, after much deliberation (this sounds so official I hate it) I have concluded no copying has been done. There’s no way to prove that and I don’t want to see that word being thrown around anymore. I do believe there were similarities and I’m not mad about it. The creator has more than graciously made changes on their own anyway so none of it matters. I am regretful that it had to come to this. No one should feel pressured to change things that they liked or might have felt very proud of on their blog.
I have reached out and explained my side of things, they don’t need to reply to me and I will not be sharing anything that is said.
As far as I’m concerned, that’s the last of that I’d like to hear in my inbox. No further asks about this matter will be replied to.
Thank you again for everyone’s patience, understanding, and insight.
Happy reading/writing!

I love Ayo, Jeremy, and Molly — they all mean a lot to me in their own ways. Ayo’s energy is unmatched, Jeremy’s loyalty is real, and Molly has always just been chill and kept to herself. I don’t understand how people can come for her when she’s never even done anything wrong. She minds her business, stays in her lane, and still somehow ends up being the target. That’s wild to me.
But let’s talk about the way you stay so obsessed with Molly. Like, seriously — what did she ever do to you? You’re always bothering her, throwing shade, and trying to make her out to be the problem when she literally just exists. Give me one valid reason why you dislike her so much. Just one. I bet you can’t, because there is no reason. It's giving more personal issue than actual beef. Let her live.
I've already explained this a million times but since you're asking again. Let me make it clear for everyone.
Why I do not like Molly Gordon
I stopped fucking with her on July 2024 when she gave a shout out to an Israeli restaurant, Miss Ada, in an interview.
As a person who also lives in NYC and makes a concious effort to avoid Israeli owned businesses, especially since October 2023, I know she is very well aware of what kind of place that is. Especially considering she was also spotted at Jack's Wife Freda, another very well known Israeli owned restaurant in the city, a few months later.
I looked to see for even an ounce of support towards Palestinians from her because I knew she had played an anti zionist who straight up mentioned the BDS movement (Boycott, Divest, Sanctions) in the show Ramy. But I saw that she hadn't even signed the ceasefire letter. I have never seen her post a single thing in support of Palestine or like anything of Ramy's or Ayo's or anyone's this whole entire genocide. Trust me, I tried to redeem her. The last picture of Ramy she has ever liked was literally one he posted of JAW while filming The Bear. She is clearly capable of signing things and posting "political" stuff like she posted her Kamala ballot, which is illegal to do in NY btw. So her silence on the matter is very much a choice.
So to me, she is someone who knowingly supports Israel, who had no problem profiting off of Palestinians stories and learned absolutely nothing from Ramy. Which btw is the only reason she got cast in The Bear in the first place cause Chris directed her episode. Either that or she cares more about not crossing any of her zionist friends and family that fund her projects like Will Ferrell, who funded Theater Camp, than supporting him. Which is still putting her own money and career above just being the bare minimum decent person to me, when she has already so much of her career handed her through nepotism.
On top of that, she had someone accusing her repeatedly of being a racist bully towards her because she got the role in high school theater she wanted.
On top of that, she used a Woody Allen (a known pedophile) movie Annie Hall (which also has pedophilic references) as reference to her romcom, Oh Hi, which literally has sexual assault as the central premise and never treats it with the severity or consequences it deserves. Her friend who made that movies also have highly questionable zionist friends.
And on top of all of that, I find the way she blatantly used her relationship for PR and called the paparazzi on herself every 4 weeks on the dot and pumped out random articles from "anonymous sources" to be extremely desperate loser behavior. I don't care that they were hooking up, quite frankly it was very funny at the start and entertaining to see it crash. He can date whoever her wants, I liked Rosalia, didn't get to know you long enough Ashley Moore but I'm sure she's probably fine.
So basically the entire picture of her that I've gotten over the past year is that she is not a good person and is very desperately trying to get attention, despite how "nice" she might be.
I do not like her as a person and at this point I never will. If I see her doing stupid problematic shit, I'm going to call it out cause apparently nobody else will. I'm sure she is perfectly nice to all her friends and coworkers. That does not make her unproblematic and good person worth supporting, to me.

"NICE TO MEET YOU, MY LADY"
CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE NEVER POSTED A FIC WITH AEMOND HERE, SOOO HERE IT IS!
I hope you like it! 🖤😊
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alicent had decided it was the right time for her eldest son to marry.
Aemond wasn't keen on the whole marriage thing, but he knew his mother wanted the best for both him and the kingdom.
So the queen got to work and began searching for the perfect candidate for her son.
The first day was a disaster. Countless women passed through the throne room, but none of them suited Aemond's tastes, according to Hightower.
While his mother was sorting through the room, he was in the library, like every Tuesday, talking with you.
You had been friends for quite some time, and after realizing your two favorites were reading, you decided the best place to meet was in the library, filled to the ceiling with the most exquisite volumes ever written.
Aemond walked with a firm step until he reached the library doors.
When he glanced inside and found you sitting on the couch by the window with a book in your hands, he couldn't help but smile.
That was definitely an image that would stay in his head forever.
You looked up as soon as you heard him enter, a huge smile forming on your lips.
Tumblr media
"You came," you whispered, closing the book and standing up to give him a warm hug
"Of course," he replied, almost offended, as if bothered that you thought he wasn't going to keep your appointment. "I wouldn't miss it for anything in the world," he whispered, making your cheeks flush a deep red. "What were you reading today?"
You showed him the cover, where the title, in High Valyrian, read:
"History of the House Targaryen," he read before looking at you curiously. "Interesting," he mused aloud. "Are you trying to find dark secrets in my family's history?" "He asked. You shook your head.
"I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing, my prince," you murmured, making his eye sparkle with an unnatural gleam you couldn't quite identify. "I just wanted to know more about the origins of your house, that's all."
"You flatter me, darling," he whispered, gently resting his gaze on your face. "There's something I have to tell you," he blurted out, causing you to focus your full attention on him. "From the expression on your face and how serious you've become, I can tell it's nothing good," you murmured. "Have I done something wrong?" Because if it were my fault, I'd never forgive myself. I…
"It's not because of you," he reassured you, "and I know very well that you haven't done anything wrong." He paused. "It's about my mother," he began to explain. "She wants me to marry," he confessed. "This morning the first candidates for the fortress entered," he continued. "So, given the position I'm in, it's best that when we're in public you don't address me, please," he asked politely. "I don't want my mother to think that we…"
"I understand," you cut him off abruptly. "You don't want the queen to think that because I greet you politely, as my parents taught me, and smile at you when you pass me like a good lady would, that it means we're together," you blurted out, feeling your heart skip a beat in your chest. "I'm glad I can still count on your friendship, Aemond."
"Aren't you angry?" "The future regent asked, as if making sure everything was okay between you.
"No, I'm not," you nodded. "Just a little… surprised," you confessed, frowning. "Why does the queen want you to get married now?"
"I suppose she's afraid something might happen to her with the way things are going in the kingdom, and she wants to make sure the country is in good hands if she's not here to see it," he replied somberly.
"Let's hope that doesn't happen," you replied, nodding toward the door. "Well, I… should go." It's getting late, and I have to get ready for bed." You bowed your head in respect. "It's always an honor to spend time with you, Prince Aemond."
"Same here, Miss Y/N," he smiled, playing along. "Get some rest."
Tumblr media
Leaving the library, you headed toward your chambers, where, without even changing, you got into bed and thought about Aemond's words.
You didn't sleep a wink all night.
Tumblr media
The next morning, Alicent herself went to wake her son, who had glued himself to the sheets.
She smiled at the way Aemond's soft, long hair rested on the pillows, and she allowed herself a few moments to observe the peaceful expression on his face.
"Aemond," she whispered, shifting him slightly. "It's time to get up," she murmured, flashing a huge smile. "I have some news for you."
"What is it?" –he asked with a hoarse voice from having just gotten up- Is everything okay?
-Everything is MORE than okay- affirmed Alicent- I've found your soulmate, darling- she murmured, making the blond look surprised- she's waiting for you in the throne room- she continued speaking as Aemond got out of bed and hurriedly dressed, "Oh darling, she's perfect for you, you can't imagine how much," he smiled. "I can already see your children running around the halls."
"Mom, stop daydreaming," he requested. "First I must meet her, and then we'll see."
"Sure, of course," she nodded, a lopsided smile on her lips. "Let's go, you're ready."
Tumblr media
The guards stationed on either side of the throne room doors ceremoniously opened them so they could both pass.
Instantly, Aemond's gaze fell on the girl with her back to him, her chestnut hair falling in soft waves behind her back.
They both walked over to where you were standing, and when the prince saw her, he was overcome with emotion, which of course he didn't show.
It was you, the girl with whom he'd spent countless afternoons chatting about books, life in general, and the state of Westeros.
It was the same girl his mother had chosen as his life partner.
He couldn't be happier.
You held each other's gaze for a few moments, pretending not to know each other, but Alicent, who could see the way you looked at each other, knew without a doubt there was something there.
"Darling, may I present you Y/N," the queen said. "Y/N, this is my son, Prince Aemond."
"Pleased to meet you," he whispered, kissing your knuckles in a sign of respect.
"Same here, Prince" you murmured, nodding your head in his direction.
"Well, now you're part of the family," Alicent celebrated. "Your wedding will take place in three days at sunset, right on the day that marks forty years since the creation of our house." He smiled, looking at both of you. "It must be fate, don't you think?"
"It certainly is" Aemond replied, without taking his gaze off you.

The Tudors ran so Wulf Hall could shuffle awkwardly around reiterating the same tired old Tudor stereotypes while claiming to be something new.
#It's so funny but as a historian I will genuinely defend 'The Tudors' to the death even with all its problems#Because it did was so few other Tudor shows/movies/media have ever done#And that is: it focused on things BEYOND just Henry and his wives.#Yes Henry was the focal point which makes SENSE but that's just it:#HENRY was the focal point. Most other Tudor media pieces have one of the wives (usually Catherine/Anne) as the focus and doesn't delve muc#Into the history or what was happening in England beyond the King's Great Matter.#The Tudors went ALL out. Yes they didn't get everything right but the fact that they tried and spotlighted so many other#Historical characters and events? The Pilgrimage of Grace? Actually LOOKING at the religious issues even if they weren't always accurate?#(Like with Aske for example. BUT AT LEAST THEY INCLUDED ROBERT ASKE like good lord it's like other Tudor media forgets everything else)#Focusing on Cromwell but also the Seymour brothers? The politics behind Henry? Even Brandon as annoying as his storylines could get.#Even smaller characters like Tallis and Gardiner and other Reformation and Counter-Reformation figures.#The fact that they featured the Reformation and Counter-Reformation AT ALL let alone tried to dive into the complexities of England's#religious crises. The burning of Anne Askew even? People having to navigate England's increasingly unstable religious situations?#The series hit its peak after the CoA/Anne stuff was over imho. Yes Cranmer and Norfolk annoyingly vanished despite being major figures in#the R/CR and they combined Mary and Margaret but god the Tudors did SO MUCH that NO OTHER PIECE OF TUDORS MEDIA has EVER DONE.#It looked BEYOND Henry BEYOND his wives and tried to paint a comprehensive pictur of a deeply troubling and divisive time in English histor#And it did so without demonising one side and it was just so good for so many reasons that I forgive its errors because damn did they TRY.#Tried in a way no one else ever has (no Wulf Hall did not I'm sorry)#(Wulf Hall was just the same old stereotypes rehashed and branded as something 'original' because it was from Cromwell's POV but again.#Same old stereotypes. Nothing actually original about anything else.)#The Tudors is so underrated for what it tried to do and what it achieved and I am reaching the tag limit but UGH god. Amazing.#Not even getting into how wonderful they were with Mary Tudor/Mary I herself and showing figures around her#Because that would be another tag essay considering the subject of my thesis.#Flawed but wonderful.#text#chey.txt

i think that the desire for perfection when it comes to activism, organizing, and the like is truly the biggest detriment to progress in the present day. so many people labor under this fantasy that some perfect leader or solution or way of doing things will happen, and in the end we just end up going nowhere.

in general im okay with a lot of things regarding my ocs as long as u remain aware they are My characters & i have the end say on what's canon with them. but yeah if u wanna draw them or write something about them or have them hang out with ur ocs or whatever im not stopping u
#i dont think anyone actually wants to at the current moment but if u wanted to do r18 with them thats also fine#theyre just toys i play with in my sandbox we can share we can do whatever we want with them#i havent rp'd since i was like 12 but i suppose i could if someone really wanted to#this would be easier if i actually made content with them#rest assured im working hard on that. i want to give them all their own voca songs at some point#but i want to get more comfortable with music first#and also choosing a character voice in a foreign language is a slightly difficult task but we'll get there#esp as i meet more people and make more friends & read more things.#makes it easier to be like yeah they would act like this in a casual setting & have this speech quirk etc#like in eng the cats have a slightly formal tone & call each other dear even though theyre SUPER close with each other#& i havent quite decided how to carry that over. as fun as changing syllables in words to Nya is idk if it fits their vibes#likewise what extent of politeness do they use. bc they do it for fun to amuse themselves.#i dont think they would actually constantly use keigo with each other#now if they specifically used WRITTEN formal language with each other that might work#but if its Just Them in the story it looks like i dont understand jpn rather than it being a character quirk#but if everyone else is speaking normally or casually and they alone are using formal usually written-only language#then thats a character trait. what was i talking about.#oh yeah go ham with my ocs if u wanna u have my blessing please show me when ur done. regardless of content#i wanna SEE#if u want to know anything in particular too dont be afraid to ask either

tonight I go to bed grateful not to be in my bnha phase right now
#pickle pontificates#oh boy. i see stuff starting to blow up over there right now#i have many feelings and thoughts about that series and the amount of good it did for me cannot be underestimated#but i was starting to get a bit frustrated with it around when the war arc started#and i sort of fizzled out in interest#and i stopped keeping up with the manga around the traitor reveal i think#it's bittersweet because on the one hand i cannot say enough about the good it did me#it influenced my real life and studies and hobbies in kind of a big way#but on the other hand i don't feel great about the direction it went#and I'm glad I didn't have to be disillusioned while i was in the middle of fangirling and fixating and whatever else#I'd also rather not be involved in whatever discourse I keep catching whiffs of#seeing that was always the most exhausting part of trying to scavenge the fandom and i am too tired for that#yeah. i guess I'm just glad i got to spend time with it when i did and also that I'm doing other stuff now#watch me talk about media like it's my ex rofl#not entirely wrong though... pretty sure I have seriously and directly compared reading dungeon meshi to falling in love on here#and that's been the case with other things. i fall fast and i fall hard and then we have a passionate affair for a few months to a year#and then we amicably agree to be friends with benefits forever and I move on to the next one#(at least with stuff I really like)#bnha is more of an ex that I had a great time with who taught me a lot but I'm kinda only stalking them on social media once in a while#and they're sorta expressing some mildly concerning political opinions that I probably should've seen coming#but they really weren't that much of a problem back then so it's not like i could've really done anything about it#(this is totally different from the way i do relationships irl which is that i don't and haven't ever)
