oooooo white people in my replies really saying ‘I can excuse racism but I draw the line at homophobia’
Not surprised since this is the site that only talks about racism and thinks it’s a big deal when they see it demonstrated in the cartoons and comics they like *coughs* dungeonmeshi *coughs* (for example at least. I haven’t seen THIS many white ppl talk as in depth about racism on here as much as these fandom nerds, man. I stg. Like “Ohhhh, so you all DO acknowledge that racism is real? Just not in real life even if you could feel it slapping you in the face at high speed. Gotcha.” It’s crazy.
Tumblr is like, 90% white and is extremely centered around them. That’s why you barely see stuff that’s important to black and brown people ever trending here or being talked about. It has to be something incredibly huge to the point where even white people can’t ignore it like they usually do, to talk about it here.
They only talked about George Floyd here because the topic of his death became world news. Even people in other countries were talking about it. Before him, it was probably Ferguson and Trayvon Martin… most of them are still trying their best to ignore the genocides because it’s a “touchy subject.” What do you expect from white people who live in their own bubbles of comfort and refuse to pop it with a needle??? They find comfort in their privilege and faux ignorance (they love playing stupid to avoid conversations about important things outside of fandoms like, are these mfs born with half a brain dedicated to fandom or what.) That’s literally all these mfs make a big deal out of, especially on this annoying ass platform. The ao3 mfs will go to war for the site that allows racist ff and cp like it’s no big deal. I wonder how many people here even donated to the site while actively scrolling past dono posts from folks who really do need help. They act like they’re doing a civil service by defending this site that makes over the amount of it’s intended dono goal in minutes.
Then you already know as soon as you even bring up racism in the stuff they like, they start ganging up and harassing black bloggers especially, calling them TERFs and the whole nine. Anything to make that person look bad for being concerned about the racism that they have such an intense aversion to. God, it’s absolutely exhausting knowing that these people would have no problem choosing a cartoon character over your entire existence if they COULD. Isn’t that fucking sad, man?

like im sorry but i dont like that 'fictional characters are objects' post that acts like caring about the real life implications of how you treat a character is going into a purity spirals or what have you bc like. fandoms can be and are racist about characters of color. it doesnt reallly matter if the character isnt real, if you're racist abt a fictional character that can and does bleed over into real life and it does make fandom spaces actively hostile to actual poc. has anyone else here ever heard of RaceFail this has been going on for years and acting ignorant abt it isnt cute
it doesnt even really matter if op wasnt thinking abt race when they made that post bc if they make an incredibly broad statement like "any sort of 'unpleasant' treatment of a fictional character is ok bc its fictional and it doesnt reflect what kind of person you are in real life" that shuts down any criticism of it as being obsessed with purity optics then they are in fact giving a pass to people being racist, sexist, pedophilic, etc to various characters. people are in fact racist in real life because of fandom and it starts with how they treat characters like that bc it then gives a message to other people in the community what kind of behavior is allowed and who is welcome there (and who is excluded)

"fat ppl are so hot and bangable. fat people are sexy. i want to fuck fatties" okok heard but do you actually like us as people? do you know anything abt the fat creators u follow who share things abt their lives? how do you treat fat ppl who are undesirable to you? do you listen to us when we are screaming about the ways that fatphobia is everywhere? no not mindlessly reblog, but listen and internalize. do you take the time to unpack your biases against fat ppl? or even the fatphobia you absolutely were taught growing up? do you hold your thin/not fat friends accountable when they compare themselves to us because they dont like the way they look? do you advocate for us when people make us the butt of jokes? do you actually date fat people? do you befriend fat people? are you kind to fat strangers you don't find attractive? do you feel the need to qualify your love for fat people? do you love any fat people who arent related to you? do you respect fat ppl of all sizes? what do you consider "fat"? is it just someone with bigger than average boobs/butt? do you like fat people with small boobs/butts? does "we love bellies here" include large bellies covered in stretch marks? does it include bellies with multiple rolls and skin discoloration because of those rolls? does it include those things together? when you say fat do you mean actual fat people? do you include fat people who arent white? who are disabled? who reject the expectations of hyper femininity/hyper masculinity? when the trend of wanting to fuck certain fat ppl wears off yet again will you continue to desire us? to love us? to cherish us? do you see us as people even when we do not give you sexual access to our bodies?

y’all won’t be satisfied until you run every black writer off this app and I’m so serious. Yes, I’m being rude to anybody that takes time out of their day to post some dumb ass remarks (a recycled one at that) and uses it to disrespect black writers of any capacity. Sitting up screaming about wanting more representation and the black reader fics being nonexistent but y’all get mad about everything. Yes, I’m cussing y’all out everytime I see it and I’m blocking idc. Free, FREE content that people took time to create, y’all are being nasty about it. We don’t owe y’all grace or kindness. Especially when we can see the hypocrisy. Go to hell with gas undies on and leave us alone. And please write whatever y’all want and fuck these people. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk

I wanna be fricken fat as fuck again I'm trying not to be too bummed about not being able to gain anything rn but I'm actually kinda sad about it! Quite sad ): I was getting so big I was barely fitting in the car seat and my hips were always bumping things and I was just SO plump (T^T) I was feeling SO big and breaking furniture and not fitting my ass in chairs, my double chin was getting so thick and my cheeks and lips were rounding out </3 I'm really hoping that I'm able to get some weight back on! Tomorrow I'm going to a BBQ and doing some photo sets so it will be a good opportunity to eat a bunch !!

to those who are unfollowing people who are reblogging/speaking/doing what they can to spread word about gaza and the genocide, you are part of the problem. it enrages me– and not because you’re unfollowing. but because you are actively choosing to ignore it. i don’t have a big following, or even a decent one compared to some of my mutuals, and i dont care if i lose every single one of you if it means supporting those still fighting for their lives and those who have already lost them. i may not be able to donate, or to go to the protests, but i can AND I WILL use what little following i have here to do what i can.
do better than our world leaders. do better than what you currently are. because everyone speaking about gaza, or boosting posts about the situation would be doing the same for you if it were the people of your country being wiped off the map. even if you don’t have a lot of followers, one more person speaking out on social media is another voice for someone who has lost theirs.
so go ahead and unfollow me. stay silent, if you want. i don’t want small minded people here. i don’t want anyone who supports genocide here. this entire thing is so much bigger than you, and yet you as one person can still help. the posts you scroll past, the posts you unfollow for, can reach someone who can do even more than you or i could. for a website that preaches kindness and acceptance im seeing a lot of avoidance and an unwillingness to help.
